"A Merry Scottish Christmas" originally aired November 18th, 2023. And it went a little something like this...
Lindsay and Brad both arrive home for the holidays and order the same Christmas beverage. They’re siblings but clearly aren’t close. Luckily, Brad’s wife Sarah is there to be the mediator.
They're picked up by a car and taken to this mansion and they're confused. They're greeted by a hobbit playing the bagpipes and gives a tour of the Glencave castle. Their mom pops out and is like, “pip pip, let’s have dinner.” Lindsay is like, “hard pass, I’m tired, I’ll see you tomorrow.”
Before sleep, she goes outside and meets a hunk named Mac who has a thick accent which we're all better for. Before Lindsay goes to sleep, she sees her mom going up to the fourth floor. That's a no-no.
They're all woken up the next day thanks to bagpipes and Lindsay is immediately like, “hey brad we should go up to the fourth floor and figure out what mom is going.”
They find their mom's GIANT room and a photo album. Just then, mom walks in and is like, “ok here's the truth - I grew up here as a Dutchess but a ran away when I was 20 and moved to LA with your dad and we never looked back.” They're like, “so wait - you kept us from knowing our grandparents and our uncle and now they're all dead? Cool thanks mom.” They need some time to process this.
They try processing together but they just argue about why they're not close anymore. Basically, they both suck as siblings. Lindsay says she's gonna catch a flight out but first she's gonna take a horse and carriage ride with Mac cuz when in Scotland.
There are 30+ live Christmas trees in the castle, but Mac says they need one more.
Back at the castle, Mom explains herself a little more. She's a real Prince Harry. They ask her what's gonna happen to Glencave and she's like, “well if you want it, it's yours.” They're like, “so we'd be dudes and dudettes?” She's like, “yeah or I have to sell.”
So Brad and Lacey spend some time around town, catching up, trying to restore their relationship, and eavesdropping on people talking ish about their family.
Lindsay rushes to help Mac who gets injured. She's actually a doctor so she's able to help until they get to the doctor in town. Apparently, they're in need of more doctors - whoddathunk it!
So Brad and Lindsay keep talking about what it would look like to keep royalty in the family. On one hand, you're royalty. On the other hand, it's apparently not all drinking whiskey. It's a lot of drinking whiskey, but not entirely.
Brad and his wife are having a tough time right now because they've been trying to get pregnant. Is this what's best for their family? And Lindsay is a doctor. Can she give us doctor life for royal life? Either way, Brad and Lindsay are growing close again. And Mac is growing close to Lindsay seeing as how he's literally always around.
They're at a party and Will Kemp is there with a Scottish accent and we're all better for it. He leads the party in a dance battle and teaches Lindsay how to a classic Scottish jig. This movie is suddenly all about will Kemp. Scottland forever!
Mac brings Lindsay back to the castle and they share a goodnight kiss. She's like, “that was nice and all, but I gotta figure stuff out before we kiss big ones.”
They talk it over as a family - we'll keep it in the family but let Mac run the estate. But the next day, Brad flip flops and he's like I actually wanna run this thing. I wanna be a dude! Lindsay and p'd and o'd. But they make up the one way you really can make up with someone - on the dance floor. Brad and his wife are announced as the new dude and dudette and everyone is pumped.
It's Christmas morning and the family is rockin’ matching PJ's. But not for long cuz Lindsay's gotta run. She says goodbye to Mac with a kiss, and then the whole castle sees her off like she's dying, and then rides off into the sunset.
Jk she changes her mind real quick after seeing that Brad gave her a literal key to the kingdom. She's staying and she kisses Mac!
Fast forward a year, Brad and Sarah have a baby, the family is once again rockin’ the matching PJ's, and they all take a picture in front of the tree, including Mac.
And that my friends was “A Merry Scottish Christmas!"
