Watch on Philo! - Philo.tv/DTH
[00:00:00] Hi, I'm Brandon. I love Hallmark President Day movies.
[00:00:07] I'm Brian. I like Hallmark President's Day movies.
[00:00:10] You got the S on there. I'm Dan. No, yesterday. Yesterday. Oh, it was already. Look at us go. Man, we are called back. Um, Jeff could not be a nicer human being in my one experience with your one 22nd experience. No, it was like two minutes during a commercial break at the debate and no one else wanted
[00:01:40] to talk to him.
[00:01:42] So literally we were hanging out like, you know, he did.
[00:01:45] He was like, do Ellis makes a lot more sense. I'm going to John Ellis here. It'll be Jeb. You can't. There's a literally just photo bomb. You look so much better than he does there. He's photobombing blurry. Yeah, man. Nominal fat dance. My bad. I literally said my boy Jeb with the photobomb.
[00:03:02] He just wanted in the picture is all he was.
[00:03:05] I did not tag him now. I mean it. I mean it when you call him go let you exactly he led me he led me All right, well I think we did Can we do to not talk about this movie Philo? Is a great reminder that you could watch this movie or anything else on
[00:04:23] Philo get that Bramble Fest ticket right now, that would be the only way in which to do so. So I'm just saying. It's pretty neat. Pretty neat, pretty neat. Pretty neat stuff. They got to buy those tickets already. Pretty neat stuff. Pretty, pretty, pretty good. Speaking of pretty good, let's talk about a taste of love, shall we?
[00:05:40] Yeah.
[00:05:41] Taste of Love originally aired on the day of the president.
[00:05:45] My kids yesterday, or on Monday, amazing. Amazing. There's no way the Jeb Bush campaign is going to ask for their money back now. We have done a more, we've gone above and beyond in this promoted sponsorship. Jeb Bush's team is looking at the Google search and all that's going like, what happened? Their alerts are going off. Man. Big day today for the Jeb. I'm going to sign the selfie
[00:07:03] with Jeb Bush and sell it. I should make one print, Easy, and Delicious. I will not make cats. Yeah, that's exactly right. It's like when they were in high school, right? Quick, Easy, and Delicious. That was Jeb Bush's presidential campaign slogan. Quick, Easy, and Delicious.
[00:08:21] I didn't ask you for that money back on your range.
[00:08:23] That didn't work out for me.
[00:08:26] Please clap. water well just outside of Clearwater what's the name of the city? Doon-Doon. Doon-Doon. Doon-Doon. Doon-Doon. It reads Doon-Doon but they say it differently. Dude, are you excited to see the new Doon-Doon movie? Doon-Doon. Doon-Doon. Return of the Dead? I can't wait to see Timothy Shalom and Doon. No. No. Zendain-Doon. Zendain-Doon.
[00:09:40] Zendain-Doon.
[00:09:41] Zendain-Doon.
[00:09:42] Oh boy.
[00:09:43] We have a lot of fun here.
[00:09:46] That's exactly right. about how special this restaurant is. And what better way to do that than by entering them into the annual contest. Which you know the name of. CC and CC Lee. The music factory. Yes, CC and the music factory. It's the only way. Everybody dance now. And he's like.
[00:11:00] Chicken dance.
[00:11:01] He's like, I don't wanna do this.
[00:11:03] And then she's like, well, here's the thing.
[00:11:06] I want to cook with shirtless for, and I will say, just as I'm the only one who can call Jeb Bush Governor, I'm also the only one in this room that can say, I've seen this guy shirtless twice, thanks to a Lifetime movie I had to watch during the holiday season where I also saw him shirtless. And
[00:12:20] He's contracting, congratulations.
[00:12:21] As part of his contract, he says, any movie that Bran's going to review, I need to be
[00:12:24] shirtless. And she has a heart to heart with CC Pizzini. You know, if that was Jeb's running mate. It's a whole new ball game. Pizzini combo. Can you imagine that you think about this movie? President's Day Special. Yeah, President's Day Special. I feel like I might be on my own on this one. What? Which tends to happen a little bit. Did you hate it? Wait a second. I don't know where Branson is. I got a vibe from Dan. So, only going off of that. This... I really like this movie.
[00:15:03] You really like it?
[00:15:04] I really like this movie.
[00:15:05] Really? soap. I wanted more sensei in the kitchen cooking than beach outside Florida, wherever they were at paradise. It was a blast and the food phenomenal looking looked so good. Wanted to eat all of it. Obviously Linda, the other restaurants who are who keeps winning.
[00:16:20] I thought she was great. Like I thought she was so fun. Yeah. I had a real fun time with
[00:16:25] her. Nice try. Aaron Cahill usually is, she just goes above and beyond. She was great obviously, but just, I don't know, can I say crease? It's the nostalgia of it all I guess with him. This is your worst take. No, this was so fun man. There is one take worse than this. Brian doesn't like Cool Ranch Doritos.
[00:17:40] Yeah, I don't like Cool Ranch Doritos.
[00:17:42] That doesn't surprise me in the slightest.
[00:17:44] That is a very different thing.
[00:17:46] I mean nacho or spicy nacho.
[00:17:47] Yeah.
[00:17:48] Yeah, obviously. as always and I just like you feel a bit of comfort anytime she's on the screen and I just how bad the rest of it is I see how you got there I yeah aside from Cahill increase I could do without most of the rest of this movie and the food
[00:19:00] looks good I yeah I just it felt very serious like very serious and it also Yeah, yeah, yeah, American Austin that was good. That's number two for me now This this just just jumped ahead Wow yeah, yeah, this movie is Terrible Aaron Cahill is Such a pro she is fireman's carrying this thing across the finish line and even she at times
[00:20:22] Looks as though she knows she's in a movie that's been made
[00:21:22] It doesn't make any sense at all, but he's doing this movie because his son is the lead,
[00:21:25] blah, blah, blah.
[00:21:26] The only two positives of this movie,
[00:21:28] aside from Erin Cahill doing her best to bring
[00:21:30] just a little bit of professionalism to the proceedings,
[00:21:33] are the food does look great.
[00:21:36] The food, they have taken time and energy
[00:21:39] to photograph good looking food.
[00:21:41] And then also, they're clearly filming in Florida
[00:21:44] on the white sands on the beach.
[00:21:46] And so you have a few opinion in this movie because of the presence of Martin Cove, a hundred percent, dude, he made this movie. He was so, all I wanted was,
[00:23:02] I don't care if he's trying. I don't care, there's something about Sundays, like Sunday evenings where I'm like, I want a, I kind of want like a breakfast meal for some reason. And I used to make it on a regular basis on a Sunday night and I haven't made it in years. And so this movie reminded me and the Monte Cristo that they make in this movie has an egg inside of it
[00:24:20] is on it, like the ham and then the egg
[00:24:22] and then the French toast with the cinnamon sugar.
[00:24:24] And I would like to try that.
[00:24:26] And so this movie reminded me be a double-decker. He did issue a full statement about it. He said he's a work in progress. That's right. Don't forget about the part where I said, no I didn't. You said, no I didn't. I didn't say that. Interesting.
[00:25:40] Yeah, of course, work in progress.
[00:25:42] Times were different back then when I said that.
[00:25:44] Five-four out of the way, what?
[00:25:48] Brian? numbers and so like I'm throwing stuff out there where it lands for me. I like that I'm proud of you. Thank you. Look at you. I'm proud of you. So I feel like I've grown. How much I've grown. You've grown a lot since the break. In some areas. So I don't think we needed the frolic in the ocean and khakis. I think we could have done it with all. That's one of mine as well. Not that we didn't need it. It's more just how long it this transpires. It kept going of old man today will be Brian. Oh my God. Cap. I could have times were different. All these golf carts are all jacked up. They are man. Too many racing stripes on them. The fancy rims back in my day. You didn't see that back when I got kept us out of trouble. And so we just shot fireworks at each other.
[00:28:20] That's right.
[00:28:21] Yeah, how to build a little bridge over a crick, but you can't be tough
[00:28:25] for the kid and that's child abuse's voice it is. Okay. Yeah. Knock, knock. Oh, sorry. I'll bring, I'll push it back real quick for you. She's looking at the empty restaurant. She says hello. And then here we come. Knock, knock. Who's voice do you think anyone?
[00:29:40] Man, whose voice is that?
[00:29:42] Hearing it a second time.
[00:29:44] I'm 100% with you, brand.
[00:29:46] I've already played this game.
[00:29:47] So I don't have.
[00:29:48] Yeah. of the closed restaurant. In this shot, if you will, boys, look at this. This restaurant is all covered up, all the tables. Also the lights have paper around it as if they're new lights. How this restaurant's been closed forever.
[00:31:02] This is a restaurant that has not seen life
[00:31:05] in a very long time.
[00:31:06] They've been lying to their daughter Listen, I don't wanna, you would not believe the effect of these milkshakes. I mean, I've heard rumblings. You've heard rumors? Yeah, from like other boys. Really? Yeah. The boys have been talking. Honestly, it feels like at this point, I'm the only one, the only boy that is. It's not showing up to your vicinity, like your home, your yard. Because when the milkshakes that I make,
[00:32:21] right, they have been known to bring the boys to the yard.
[00:32:26] That's what I'm saying.
[00:32:27] And I feel left out. Okay. All right, deal. Shake hands. There's no way out of that bit. It's business agreement. Yeah. You got anything else? Yeah, I got plenty of weight. Anyway, more weight, what? Yeah, of course. Of course, of course, of course, of course. At the beginning of this movie, we see a young Erin Cahill's character in the kitchen with her father, played by Martin Cove.
[00:33:41] And then what we find out later is restaurants in town or it's rigged. Either way, it's a problem. Second of all, we find out that the restaurant competition doesn't happen on one day. It doesn't happen on like a Saturday where everybody gets together and they present their food to the judges. These judges go from restaurant to closed restaurant and let
[00:35:05] you cook in your kitchen at your leisure and here. I would like to get me some tacos from the smoker by the pier. Would you like to join me? I get inspired almost every day with salt and vinegar chips. It's wild. I just I eat them and I'm inspired and that's why I eat them though. No other reason. To get inspired. Just for inspiration. That's right. No it wouldn't be for anything else.
[00:36:24] Of course. Is that it? That's it. Starting with the Hall money from the sale is what he's gonna live off of, I assume, in his retirement, you know? It didn't seem like that big of a hurdle. I mean, yes, I guess, but. These little logistical things, this is what keeps me up at night. Can I just, really quickly though, just.
[00:37:40] Just, kindly, Brian, kindly.
[00:37:43] And with all good intentions.
[00:37:44] In this hypothetical situation,
[00:37:47] let's say you owned a restaurant. And then you say here just take the restaurant this how do you go travel is how could he possibly pass the restaurant down to? His daughter that is the what no it's how did they do this transaction? Did she buy it or was it handed over? He's been on Social Security for a dozen so maybe he has plenty saved and it's not a problem Maybe the whole plan is like I want her to take this right maybe but I don't know that for sure
[00:39:04] If you're if you think that your daughter is gonna
[00:40:02] and then like just so that you can go visit your children around the world.
[00:40:03] Yeah, wherever they might be.
[00:40:04] Wherever they might be.
[00:40:05] Yeah, you've got a book burning,
[00:40:06] he's like two, if you can keep moving, break.
[00:40:08] Yeah, so mine is, it is pretty clear that by
[00:40:14] the third season of quick, easy and delicious,
[00:40:17] she is done.
[00:40:19] She's like, I don't want to do this anymore.
[00:40:21] I want to do bigger and better things.
[00:40:24] They come back and they pitch her with,
[00:40:26] what if we do the thing that you're doing, like us being like, man, three seasons of doing the same four segments, let's add a fifth segment. Like, why would that happen? Wouldn't make any sense. So yeah, just kind of, one, how did this show get started and two, what is the difference with the prime time version? Are they doing some extra stuff? Yeah, mine's similar.
[00:41:41] I think this ending that we get is the ending
[00:41:44] that was never brought to the table.
[00:41:46] Like it's this, it because you're going to be prepping for the, you know, production and all that stuff that goes into TV. It just, the solution seemed like they just were like,
[00:43:00] well, it ends a lot of work. What if we get, what if we give her everything? That's not
