[00:05:20] Speaking of Vesta she gets a call from their CEO which invites her to a retreat that she's having in Colorado

[00:05:28] She's inviting four people on this retreat one from each of the regional branches of Vesta

[00:05:35] so a Maya works at Vesta East and

[00:05:39] It's it's pretty exciting

[00:05:42] In New York yeah, yeah, and so her boss thinks that should that a leg rather CEO is

[00:05:50] Scouting to find which office is gonna run point on the next big project

[00:05:58] That's right yes, you've got it you're getting it you're getting it

[00:06:03] Her boss tells Maya that she has to prove herself while she's there

[00:06:06] And if she can do that, maybe there's an executive position waiting for her back at Vesta East

[00:06:14] So she goes off to Colorado and

[00:06:19] to whitewater Lodge

[00:06:22] Apparently she's late though and the first game has already begun. That's right folks game

[00:06:28] they play a weird game of cat-and-mouse where you are both the finder and the

[00:06:34] Keeper and the seeker and the hider you do it all there

[00:06:40] Then they do another icebreaker game to get to know each other

[00:06:44] Now Maya is not a big adventure person, so she's a little bit out of her element

[00:06:50] Just being outdoors, but then she finds out. They're just gonna. They're gonna go whitewater rafting

[00:06:54] She's like I gotta get out of here

[00:06:55] But her boss calls her and is like you got to stick it out kid do it for Vesta East

[00:07:00] For Vesta East

[00:07:03] Where are you Bri we practiced and everything nothing we're doing it for Vesta East

[00:07:12] It didn't feel like your heart was in it. I'm more like a Vesta South I think

[00:07:17] interesting

[00:07:18] This guy who doesn't even mention it to her on the air

[00:07:22] There's not even a Vesta South. Yeah, yeah

[00:07:24] The other is

[00:07:27] It's it's it's West East

[00:07:30] May very cool. There's Chicago Midwest. There's LA and there's Braxton's or something

[00:07:36] Yeah, I don't think there is a Columbus or Columbia one Columbia, South Carolina

[00:07:50] She decides that she's gonna stick it out the next day. She opts not to do the whitewater rafting though

[00:07:54] Luckily you can walk along the path and make it to the camp in which they're gonna stay from there

[00:07:59] They do more competitions with clear-cut points Dan explain those points the points don't matter

[00:08:07] That's right

[00:08:09] her boss back in Vesta East

[00:08:12] is

[00:08:14] Encouraging her to like cheat by stealing people's glasses and stuff

[00:08:18] She writes all this down in her notebook, I'm sure it won't come back to hurt her

[00:08:21] No way

[00:08:22] She starts to actually enjoy hanging out with Matt the outdoor the other one of the guys and they're doing outdoorsy stuff

[00:08:29] you know

[00:08:31] zip line in and straddling each other and

[00:08:35] Eggs and stuff wasting eggs lots of wasted eggs one night the two of them go stargazing

[00:08:44] And you get to straighten out your name on the board, that's right you straight out your name

[00:08:48] You're good to go one night the two of them go stargazing and it is magical they come back with a big idea

[00:08:55] for the launch of

[00:08:57] The project that they were talking about the beginning of the movies actually launching tomorrow

[00:09:03] Surprise surprise

[00:09:05] We they have an idea which is to live stream a bunch of techies

[00:09:11] White water rafting what live stream and

[00:09:15] So live streaming it is you're going you're live on the end. I've never heard of yeah

[00:09:22] So this is doing great. It's doing amazing

[00:09:26] While live streaming they'll also promote the lodge because they're actually having a tough time

[00:09:31] They don't have much of an internet presence, so that's really great. She goes back into her tent

[00:09:35] She calls her boss and tells the boss the idea then she goes and she throws her notebook full of notes like hey

[00:09:41] I like stealing glasses and stuff like that

[00:09:44] She throws that in the fire

[00:09:45] The next day she wakes up and it turns out that the notebook did not burn all the way and Matt read it all

[00:09:51] He finds it standing outside the fire

[00:09:53] That's exactly right and is mad at her about all the things that she wrote down and then Allegra

[00:09:59] Came came came into the area and says hey your boss

[00:10:03] Just called me told me you're your great idea about live streaming

[00:10:08] For the launch love this let's do it you got a bright future here kiddo obviously Matt is there and that's just like yeah

[00:10:14] What a great idea she had huh, so he's mad about the whole thing. It's time for the whitewater rafting live stream extravaganza and

[00:10:22] She's in the raft and Matt is like I'm not going this time pushes her off push

[00:10:27] And now we get the best scene yes

[00:10:29] So she then hops out of the raft and gets stuck the water is at her knees

[00:10:36] And she can't move she's like this is so what's going on, but she's all she also in the process started the live stream

[00:10:44] And so the live stream shows Matt running up to her rescuing her from the the knees deep water

[00:10:51] Pulls her to the shore

[00:10:54] They she apologizes

[00:10:56] And it's like you're amazing and all this good stuff, and then they see another raft is there, too

[00:11:02] This guy's just kind of farting around hanging out, and they're like you got room for two more

[00:11:07] He's like you bet I do. Thank God. I was gonna do this whole thing myself and so

[00:11:12] They then also

[00:11:14] Continue to live stream, and it is a big hit they get back to the rest of the group and Allegra is like

[00:11:21] That's what I'm talking about. This is real life

[00:11:23] This is wonderful

[00:11:24] And they end up finding out the good news that they're gonna get to go and work at the Paris

[00:11:31] Office

[00:11:35] And

[00:11:36] That's great for them, and so they decide since we're gonna be going to Paris together

[00:11:39] We might as well start French kissing. You know what I mean

[00:11:43] The kiss is what I'm trying to say

[00:12:56] This week is like for people who like a question of social media in their movies with like no questions

[00:13:04] Asked no explanation. Just like a hint of social media mentioned with like nothing's plugged in though like this

[00:13:12] the app and

[00:13:14] tech in this you have to not care about apps or tech or companies or

[00:13:21] how

[00:13:22] CEOs

[00:13:24] Operate or any of this stuff man like I I didn't really like a lot about it. I hate retreats

[00:13:30] Yeah, I hate I hate everything they did

[00:13:34] You walk in and immediately you're in a game with people you have to spend team building

[00:13:40] Yeah, and you're all you're doing is spending time with them all

[00:13:44] weekend or whatever it is

[00:13:46] Brutal brutal brutal so a lot of stuff that was just way too far

[00:13:53] Gone for me

[00:13:55] There's some things I liked about this where they're like aspects of glamping included that I thought were nice touch

[00:14:02] The guide not nearly gnarly enough for like a whitewater

[00:14:06] Rafting guide like just too cleaned up

[00:14:10] But you need a guy who lives on the water for that type of thing, you know, so just very unbelievable

[00:14:16] I'm really excited though for Cindy's next thing. Love Cindy. She's great

[00:14:21] Hope she's like a next thing. She's always got something else you're excited. She's gonna be in anything

[00:14:27] I thought you were saying she has something coming up

[00:14:31] I'm sure she's doing something. I'm just saying like this was

[00:14:34] Who it's a lot about this to just have problems with but entertaining at parts fun to watch in parts

[00:14:42] Excited, but I like Cindy a lot and hope that the best for her

[00:14:46] She does have one upcoming project called new of

[00:14:50] It's a TV miniseries from 2006

[00:14:58] It's new I'll be on about kid it's coming up this year. It's from 2006

[00:15:58] Sitting there for the taking that take place in the woods because without woods movies

[00:16:03] What would we have what would we have without without the woods movies in the water?

[00:16:07] I don't think that there's been a movie with more

[00:16:12] Unlikeable characters filling out the cast it is all of these characters are relatively

[00:16:21] Unlike unlike a bull and and I'm with Brian I don't want any part of this

[00:16:26] Retreats one it involves being outdoors to it involves water

[00:16:30] Three it involves act like small talk and height and team building to know people

[00:16:36] And you know a lot of things that I just don't really like doing very much and also the water would kill me and so

[00:16:44] Yeah, this wouldn't be what I would want to do

[00:16:47] In my free time much less for my job. And so if if I showed up

[00:16:54] To a well, you know company meeting and I don't really know what it is

[00:16:58] And this is what I walk into I'm doing exactly what she did and it's deucing out. She should have deuced out

[00:17:04] She didn't deuce out and I lost a little respect for her that day stick to your guns to deuce out

[00:17:10] You don't you don't have to whitewater raft just cuz your boss tells you you have to it's not a part of your job

[00:17:16] That's not a part of your job. They can't make you do that and they can't fire you for saying no

[00:17:21] Dan I feel like it's to the point where we should have a sub genre of movie that is

[00:17:29] Cindy Busby in these woods

[00:17:31] Like I feel like she has been in the not like the woods. She has been in these woods

[00:17:39] numerous times what waterfalls

[00:17:42] Native-american artifacts, I think

[00:17:45] whitewater that it is

[00:17:48] Just crazy to me that this movie continues to be made over and over again

[00:17:53] This is the worst movie of the year number one

[00:17:57] Some of the tasks they're asking these tech people to do

[00:18:01] require some experience some experience that these people

[00:18:05] There would be no reason that they would have that it would be like if all the four of us

[00:18:10] Got told we had to go to a podcasting retreat and when we got there, it was rock climbing

[00:18:15] Well, I've never rock climbed before brands not gonna try. I don't know if Brian or Aaron's ever rock climb

[00:18:22] Aaron's good over there. We don't we don't know

[00:18:24] We don't like it's weird that all of a sudden you would ask someone who spends her life in a cubicle every day

[00:18:32] To do this not like will you do it in a few months?

[00:18:35] But will you leave tomorrow and go do it they also and Sydney Busby can act

[00:18:40] We've seen her in a lot of things. She's been on our program a bunch. She is wonderful. She's delightful

[00:18:46] They make her character the dumbest human being alive like

[00:18:50] Everything is either like a full wow complete surprise or I guess I just have to do this

[00:18:56] Like I've never seen someone look at bridges and trees

[00:19:00] Like they've literally been in an underground bunker their whole life. The movie's a mess

[00:19:07] None of the characters are likable the the premise makes no sense

[00:19:11] The point system makes no sense the all is lost moment makes no sense. This movie is a

[00:19:18] disaster with it was 35 minutes in I thought we were almost done I

[00:19:23] It's really really bad and Brandon's right. They forgot about me and and they decided

[00:19:30] Here's what we're doing. We're putting another Cindy in these woods movies out and there you have it. This is what we got. Oh

[00:19:38] Boy it's time for all the feels

[00:20:07] Really what stood out for feels was the food and I in my mind

[00:20:12] I'm watching the spreads everywhere. They were it didn't matter how far into the woods

[00:20:18] They went the level of catering. Oh the more they go in the woods. Yeah nicer the spread

[00:20:23] Yeah, so so to me I'm thinking like this is insane first of all, but second of all

[00:20:30] Pretty nice. Yeah clinking glass. Holy cow tablecloth. Yeah wine wine glasses

[00:20:35] glasses peeled carrots like

[00:20:38] Everything you could want like when she woke up late and she ran by that but that table at spread

[00:20:44] Parting was like oh don't don't run by like stop

[00:20:47] Spread what's really got some muffins there. We've got that nice coffee cups

[00:20:51] So that they did a really good job with the food spreads no matter where they were in the woods

[00:20:59] Yeah, give me that one mm-hmm there's plenty of room for the table yeah, yeah those tables are nice

[00:21:05] then this

[00:21:07] This event is is my nightmare not like it is brands. It's not

[00:21:12] Outdoors Heights water, whatever. I'm fine with all three of those things

[00:21:18] Whatever I could get over that if I had to for my job no big deal

[00:21:22] It's four person team building. Oh, man, it's for people. You don't actually work with right? They're not in your office

[00:21:29] That's right. It's team building with just four people

[00:21:32] None of whom you know at all and you're supposed to team build with other tech experts

[00:21:38] while playing capture the flag or whitewater rafting

[00:21:43] it's just

[00:21:46] Sounds I would rather do virtually anything else

[00:21:49] It was exhausting just watching that fake energy like when they first meet and they're like hyped up

[00:21:55] I'm like I'd need a day of rest after that that fake energy like oh

[00:21:59] I

[00:22:00] We would go to like youth group camp

[00:22:02] And I would have to do

[00:22:03] Team building and you would always have a few people from your youth group with people from other youth groups

[00:22:07] So, you know people and I still thought it was the dumbest activity on the planet like this is

[00:22:13] Absolutely uncalled for I guess I can't I can't even imagine. I don't know how they got there

[00:22:19] That wasn't the original idea of the script

[00:22:21] It couldn't have been and then they're cool what if it's like a four-person team building?

[00:22:24] I don't I don't know how they got there, but I hated

[00:25:10] Have they ever gone I have to go on I have any anybody that ever worked for anything

[00:25:15] That's not outdoors related been forced to go to an outdoors

[00:25:19] Retreat and do things that they're afraid of I can't imagine because their boss says they have to

[00:25:25] It's a lawsuit, right? Well you and I had to go in ziplining Costa Rica, but you actually did I said no

[00:25:30] Yeah, you tried you got the thing on I said I would give it a shot

[00:25:35] Stairs and you're like I

[00:25:37] Know I don't have to so I had all the kids. I was supervising myself. That's right

[00:25:42] And I would say I mean I could we've actually kind of been in this scenario

[00:25:46] But I've not been like you gotta do this

[00:25:48] Yeah, yeah, I was in charge of the trip, but I didn't care if he did it or not

[00:25:50] He was willing to take one for the team. He tried I tried then he walked right back

[00:25:55] I walked right back down where I belong on the ground on the ground

[00:25:59] Our resident lawyer does say this is a lawsuit. Thank you. Yes, of course it is

[00:26:03] Yeah, obviously it's got a thing Lewis. He can't do a thing without his glasses, but he doesn't say one word

[00:26:48] Sorry one last one was when they were foraging for mushrooms. She started grabbing pine cones

[00:26:53] And I would never miss an opportunity to say pine cone you would

[00:26:56] Pine cones are important part of I did love I did love that

[00:26:59] She her reasoning for doing that is I'm not going back empty-handed and I would argue it would be so much better to go back

[00:27:09] Didn't find any of those no

[00:27:11] The pine cones if she picks up pine cones, and then there's a tight five on mushrooms how they could kill you or they could be

[00:27:18] What's up with mushrooms

[00:27:23] You talked about the spreads Brian and you're right there's more food than you know what to do with

[00:27:30] There are all like on that table. There's so many coffee cups. Yeah, there's enough cut like yes

[00:32:18] She's like not knock any bugs in here. Oh, it's just us cockroaches scatter scatter like do what are they gonna do?

[00:32:25] I I was gonna stay in here and bother you in your sleep as a bug

[00:33:06] It's like puts his hand in grabs the part of the sticky grabs isn't on fire

[00:33:10] But it still would've been hot as blazes and then he it looks like it's not up with the rest of him

[00:33:15] So he takes it and he tries to put it up to where it makes it perfect. And when he does it the whole thing

[00:33:27] If they had seen it they'd have done another take he literally is trying to fix it for the scene

[00:33:32] He's like I gotta fix that and and then it just all comes to just crashing down and it's fantastic. Um

[00:33:40] They do a challenge with eggs and put like slingshot and exit bullseyes and at one point she goes for every bullseye you hit

[00:33:47] You get 30 seconds off your time. I don't see a stopwatch

[00:33:52] I don't see a clock anywhere like what is she talking about?

[00:33:57] Like what this is this requires a lot of math and a lot of people watching all both teams

[00:34:05] Do all these events and no one's doing that like no one is in the woods

[00:34:10] These rules are so complicated 30 seconds for a bullseye the egg spiders across the whole thing. Where's the bulls like I I

[00:35:28] I just feel like in this age like with don't buy a ton of food

[00:35:38] With if global warming has any upside I feel like it's for the whitewater rafting industry

[00:35:43] Like they gotta be booming at this point like all that water

[00:35:49] Rushing down now is like the time warmer than ever. Yeah, like it's so comfortable now you fall in it's no big deal

[00:35:56] I just don't believe him that business is bad. Like he's just not he's just not he's not cut out for it

[00:36:06] Activities you could do during kovat like I'm sure it did really great in 2020 like all those outdoor stuff

[00:40:18] Bring a simple dish it's a board game. You brought a team-building act exactly Haley

[00:40:24] I don't know on the nose for this movie, which really it sort of falls right in line doesn't it?
