"A World Record Christmas" originally aired November 16th, 2023. And it went a little something like this...

Marissa and Eric are married and they decorate the city for Christmas cuz Eric works at the library and I guess that's his job.

Eric is over here making subtle suggestions that they should have a baby. Just then, their teenage son Charlie comes in and they talk about famous Harolds, such as Harold Styles.

Charlie has autism and has different triggers, like when other kids call him Chucky. But when his friend Amy calls him Chucky, he doesn't mind it so much. Apparently, this town loves breaking world records and someone from the Guinness world records is gonna be in town on Christmas Eve, so Charlie takes a look at the book for inspiration. That night, the family sits down to play a game of Jenga but the game is called short after the fire alarm goes off due to burning cookies.

Charlie tells Marissa he wants his birth dad to show up for Christmas but he doesn't respond to his emails, so he's gonna write him and tell him that he's gonna break a Guinness world record.

Charlie doesn't call Eric dad but it's something Marissa tells Charlie he can do whenever he wants to. Eric and Marissa haven't been on a date night for a long time, and they finally go on one but mainly just talk about Charlie. Charlie is with Amy and her mom but when Amy starts talking about a boy she is talking to, that triggers Charlie and he locks himself in his room. So Amy's mom has to call Marissa and they cut their date night short.

He tells them that when he breaks a world record, people won't think he's weird anymore. So Eric encourages him to do it!

The next day, they get the number for the Guinness judge who is coming on Christmas eve so they can try to convince them to give Charlie a shot. What is the world record he's gonna break? Who knows.

Charlie wants to get a real Christmas tree this year after learning she likes real Christmas tree, so they all go together. They about to decorate it but Marissa gets called into work where she finds out that Charlie's dad is working in a town nearby so she decides she wants to pay him a visit and tell him to write Charlie back.

After decorating the tree, Marissa gives Charlie some new Jenga blocks and after reading up on the Jenga world record, Charlie says, “I'm gonna break that one!”

She tells Peter, Charlie's dad, that Charlie is waiting on him to respond to emails. He's like, “oh he must have my old email address. Here's my card and also let’s get dinner.” But it doesn't last long. When she finds out that he's been there for two years and has never tried to see Charlie, she leaves.

The next day, Marissa and Eric convince the Guinness folks to give him a shot! But when Marissa gives Charlie his dad's business card, Eric is like, “WTF” but they don't really get a chance to talk about it. It takes some time but she finally comes clean and he is like, “it totally makes sense why you would go see him but we need to be honest with each other” and then they kiss. It's all gooodddd baby.

The next day, Charlie is on the local news and freezes up so Amy comes in and helps him out. They then go ice skating together as Marissa and Eric watch on and talk about their own love story.

So my guy Charlie decides to shoot his shot and give Amy a heart necklace and she says he's her best friend and she doesn’t want to make things weird. He takes that as she thinks he's weird and he runs to his room but Eric goes to talk to him and helps make things better.

It's Christmas Eve and Charlie gets an email from his dad saying that he's coming. Charlie is nervous but he gets on stage and gets to work! He is 13 blocks away when he looks up and see's that his dad still isn't there. He starts to cry, his need accidentally bumps the tower and down it goes. He runs off but his parents and Amy help encourage him to give it another shot even if it's not for the record.

Before he starts, he leads Charlie over to the chair he had set aside for his dad and says this chair belongs to Eric and oh my gosh I'm just ballingggg. He gets to work and Amy keeps count as the rest of the town begins to show up to support him and he does it!!!

Cut to 1 year later and there's a new baby, Amy is over for Christmas, and Charlie is crushing it as a big brother!

And that my friends was “A World Record Christmas!”
