[00:00:04] [SPEAKER_02]: Hi everybody, it's Alonso Duralde and Dave White. We are in separate cities today because I'm actually in New Jersey for Christmas Con with Deck The Hallmark guys. Separated for Christmas. Yes. The Hallmark movie. But we didn't want to miss the opportunity to recap the finale of Finding Mr. Christmas because now we have an answer. We didn't want to miss that opportunity. Mr. Christmas has been found and he is.
[00:00:34] [SPEAKER_02]: Ezra!
[00:00:35] [SPEAKER_02]: Say the joke.
[00:00:38] [SPEAKER_02]: He was created, looked at the guy, they picked the guy who looked like he was created in the Hallmark lab.
[00:00:43] [SPEAKER_02]: Say the other joke.
[00:00:44] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, no one is better than Ezra.
[00:00:48] [SPEAKER_01]: That's right. That's right.
[00:00:50] [SPEAKER_02]: So yes.
[00:00:52] [SPEAKER_01]: Actually Elijah was a better actor.
[00:00:54] [SPEAKER_02]: Elijah is better than Ezra.
[00:00:55] [SPEAKER_02]: Than Ezra.
[00:00:57] [SPEAKER_01]: But Ezra is very tall.
[00:01:00] [SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
[00:01:00] [SPEAKER_01]: Yes he is.
[00:01:01] [SPEAKER_01]: And that is, you know, they like that.
[00:01:06] [SPEAKER_02]: At Hallmark HQ.
[00:01:08] [SPEAKER_02]: He's got a, he's got a focus group face.
[00:01:12] [SPEAKER_02]: You know, I'm sure that that was.
[00:01:15] [SPEAKER_02]: He sure does.
[00:01:16] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:01:17] [SPEAKER_02]: So anyway, we're down to our final three.
[00:01:19] [SPEAKER_02]: It's Elijah, it's Ezra, it's Hayden.
[00:01:21] [SPEAKER_02]: No arts and crafts this week.
[00:01:23] [SPEAKER_02]: We don't have time for those shenanigans.
[00:01:25] [SPEAKER_02]: We gotta go right into it.
[00:01:26] [SPEAKER_01]: But they didn't have time for episode filler.
[00:01:32] [SPEAKER_01]: So they had to concentrate on the acting.
[00:01:36] [SPEAKER_02]: The actual thing that we're here to do.
[00:01:38] [SPEAKER_01]: By the way, can I just, non, non business thing.
[00:01:43] [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, in your absence.
[00:01:45] [SPEAKER_01]: I tried your show Bonnie.
[00:01:48] [SPEAKER_01]: Peppermint.
[00:01:49] [SPEAKER_01]: The chocolate peppermint.
[00:01:51] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[00:01:51] [SPEAKER_01]: And now, now we're getting a divorce.
[00:01:54] [SPEAKER_01]: Because I don't.
[00:01:56] [SPEAKER_01]: This is.
[00:01:58] [SPEAKER_01]: This thing is it's too good.
[00:02:00] [SPEAKER_01]: And I'm not.
[00:02:01] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm upset about that.
[00:02:02] [SPEAKER_01]: I won't be able to have.
[00:02:04] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm not having any more of this.
[00:02:06] [SPEAKER_01]: First one's always free.
[00:02:07] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, no.
[00:02:08] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm not.
[00:02:10] [SPEAKER_01]: You're trying to ruin my entire.
[00:02:13] [SPEAKER_01]: Situation here.
[00:02:15] [SPEAKER_01]: It's a treat for Christmas.
[00:02:16] [SPEAKER_01]: Not even an ad for show Bonnie.
[00:02:18] [SPEAKER_01]: It happens to be the name of the product.
[00:02:22] [SPEAKER_01]: Anyway.
[00:02:23] [SPEAKER_01]: About this show.
[00:02:25] [SPEAKER_02]: About this show.
[00:02:26] [SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
[00:02:26] [SPEAKER_02]: So, uh, Ali Liebert is back to direct their big final scene.
[00:02:30] [SPEAKER_02]: And their co-star is Nikki DeLoach.
[00:02:32] [SPEAKER_02]: Which is great.
[00:02:32] [SPEAKER_02]: Because she's terrific.
[00:02:34] [SPEAKER_02]: Definitely one of the queens of Hallmark.
[00:02:36] [SPEAKER_02]: And in addition to being an actor.
[00:02:39] [SPEAKER_02]: She's also like a writer and a producer.
[00:02:41] [SPEAKER_02]: So she really gets process.
[00:02:43] [SPEAKER_02]: And she gives them really valuable advice.
[00:02:47] [SPEAKER_02]: About how these movies get made.
[00:02:48] [SPEAKER_02]: She's like, look.
[00:02:49] [SPEAKER_02]: We have like 14, 15 days.
[00:02:51] [SPEAKER_02]: To get this puppy out of here.
[00:02:52] [SPEAKER_02]: A lot of times scenes will be chopped up in weird ways.
[00:02:55] [SPEAKER_02]: So you have to begin each moment that you're.
[00:02:59] [SPEAKER_02]: Each, you know, kind of take.
[00:03:01] [SPEAKER_02]: Thinking about where is my character?
[00:03:04] [SPEAKER_02]: Like what did they just do?
[00:03:05] [SPEAKER_02]: What were they thinking about?
[00:03:07] [SPEAKER_02]: And how did they feel?
[00:03:08] [SPEAKER_02]: What was the, what's the emotion that they're bringing into this?
[00:03:11] [SPEAKER_02]: And they, they put them to the test.
[00:03:13] [SPEAKER_02]: Because they take this one scene that is kind of one flowing moment.
[00:03:17] [SPEAKER_02]: But they chop it into three pieces.
[00:03:19] [SPEAKER_02]: So they have to kind of like stop and pick up again.
[00:03:22] [SPEAKER_02]: And stop and pick up again.
[00:03:23] [SPEAKER_02]: And learn the lines.
[00:03:24] [SPEAKER_02]: And, and, and, and the whole thing.
[00:03:26] [SPEAKER_02]: And so the scene comes down to.
[00:03:29] [SPEAKER_02]: Pick up truck pulls up.
[00:03:31] [SPEAKER_02]: Guide leaps out.
[00:03:32] [SPEAKER_02]: Tosses his keys to valet.
[00:03:34] [SPEAKER_02]: Jonathan Bennett.
[00:03:35] [SPEAKER_02]: Who tells him, you got this.
[00:03:37] [SPEAKER_02]: And then there's a part where.
[00:03:44] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't know.
[00:03:45] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, okay.
[00:03:46] [SPEAKER_02]: Right. Okay.
[00:03:46] [SPEAKER_02]: Then the second, the second part is they walk up to Melissa Peterman.
[00:03:49] [SPEAKER_02]: Who's holding up a tray of cocoa.
[00:03:51] [SPEAKER_02]: Uh, and he goes.
[00:03:53] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, that's right.
[00:03:54] [SPEAKER_01]: There's a, there's always gotta be cocoa.
[00:03:55] [SPEAKER_02]: There's gotta be cocoa.
[00:03:56] [SPEAKER_02]: It's the law.
[00:03:57] [SPEAKER_02]: And he's like, how did you know my name?
[00:03:59] [SPEAKER_02]: I know I'm just here for.
[00:04:02] [SPEAKER_02]: Holly.
[00:04:03] [SPEAKER_02]: Um, and so they all get instructions about how to do that.
[00:04:06] [SPEAKER_02]: Right.
[00:04:07] [SPEAKER_02]: Cause they all rush it too much.
[00:04:08] [SPEAKER_02]: Um, and then part three is.
[00:04:11] [SPEAKER_02]: Vicky Loach walks out, walks out the door, puts down her luggage.
[00:04:13] [SPEAKER_02]: They have their like, you know, he professes his love.
[00:04:16] [SPEAKER_02]: And then they have their what, uh, one hallmark podcast brilliantly calls one dry kiss.
[00:04:24] [SPEAKER_02]: Um, and nobody messes this up.
[00:04:26] [SPEAKER_02]: I have to say all credit to the finalists.
[00:04:28] [SPEAKER_02]: Everybody does this scene pretty well.
[00:04:31] [SPEAKER_02]: Nobody like doesn't remember where the camera is or any of the sort of goofy stuff we've seen up until now where they, they managed to, to, to, to, to, to, to.
[00:04:38] [SPEAKER_02]: Bobble the scene.
[00:04:40] [SPEAKER_02]: Um, at one point they say Melissa Peterman is maybe going to improv with you.
[00:04:43] [SPEAKER_02]: And then she doesn't.
[00:04:44] [SPEAKER_02]: Uh, but cause they've got enough on their plate at this point, I think.
[00:04:47] [SPEAKER_02]: Wait, what about the fist bump?
[00:04:50] [SPEAKER_02]: That was a weird choice.
[00:04:51] [SPEAKER_02]: So, uh, Elijah decides that in his, and they only get one kiss with Vicky Loach, which I'm sure she was like, oh yeah, they get one.
[00:04:59] [SPEAKER_02]: We do it like a rehearsal where we get our faces.
[00:05:02] [SPEAKER_02]: And then like one actual smooch.
[00:05:05] [SPEAKER_02]: He gets his actual smooch with Vicky the Loach and takes it upon himself to victoriously throw a fist.
[00:05:11] [SPEAKER_02]: Sorry.
[00:05:11] [SPEAKER_01]: I said bump.
[00:05:12] [SPEAKER_01]: I meant pump.
[00:05:13] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:05:14] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[00:05:15] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't know if that's, that's how we want to go.
[00:05:18] [SPEAKER_02]: Here's, I don't know if that's what cost him the win, but it didn't help.
[00:05:23] [SPEAKER_01]: I can, I just be a conspiracy theorist again for just a moment.
[00:05:27] [SPEAKER_01]: I think that was rehearsal footage.
[00:05:34] [SPEAKER_01]: And that they'd already picked Ezra and they used it against Elijah.
[00:05:37] [SPEAKER_01]: That is, uh, you know what?
[00:05:39] [SPEAKER_01]: I don't care.
[00:05:40] [SPEAKER_01]: I'll die on that hill.
[00:05:41] [SPEAKER_01]: That's what I think.
[00:05:42] [SPEAKER_02]: Well, that would mean that he got more than one kiss in.
[00:05:45] [SPEAKER_02]: And I don't know if that was on the, that was on the table, but maybe you never know.
[00:05:49] [SPEAKER_02]: You never know.
[00:05:50] [SPEAKER_01]: Someone, someone tell me I'm wrong.
[00:05:52] [SPEAKER_02]: But my conspiracy theory is when they get to their final judgment and they're in, you
[00:05:57] [SPEAKER_02]: know, the snow room with, uh, with, with Jonathan and Melissa and Ms.
[00:06:02] [SPEAKER_02]: Loach, um, Jonathan launches into this whole thing about you all grown so much while you
[00:06:08] [SPEAKER_02]: were here.
[00:06:09] [SPEAKER_02]: And, you know, we've really seen you develop, yada, which is basically saying Ezra wins
[00:06:13] [SPEAKER_02]: most improved because for the first four episodes, we didn't know his name.
[00:06:17] [SPEAKER_02]: Like he did not make any kind of impression.
[00:06:20] [SPEAKER_02]: Right.
[00:06:21] [SPEAKER_02]: And I don't know if he was edited that way.
[00:06:24] [SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
[00:06:24] [SPEAKER_02]: It'd be sort of like a surprise later.
[00:06:26] [SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
[00:06:27] [SPEAKER_02]: Like, you know, Elijah popped, Hayden popped.
[00:06:29] [SPEAKER_02]: And Ezra was kind of like, you know, lurking in the background with a three or four other
[00:06:33] [SPEAKER_02]: like model looking dudes.
[00:06:35] [SPEAKER_01]: Narrative is constructed from the footage.
[00:06:38] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:06:39] [SPEAKER_02]: So now the narrative is like, look at how far you've come over the course of this program
[00:06:44] [SPEAKER_02]: and how we've turned you into this Hallmark star in this house in Utah by making you
[00:06:49] [SPEAKER_02]: throw fake snowballs or whatever.
[00:06:53] [SPEAKER_02]: So, so anyway, Ezra, Ezra is our winner and Ezra will be starring in Happy Howl-a-days opposite
[00:07:00] [SPEAKER_02]: Jessica Loundis, the last of the Hallmark movies this year.
[00:07:03] [SPEAKER_02]: And reviewing it with Deck the Hallmark will be none other than Dave White.
[00:07:09] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm, uh, I'm ready.
[00:07:13] [SPEAKER_02]: You've been on this journey with Ezra.
[00:07:16] [SPEAKER_02]: So you're really ready to see how he does, how he fares his first time before the camera.
[00:07:23] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm gonna tear him limb from limb.
[00:07:28] [SPEAKER_02]: Be nice.
[00:07:29] [SPEAKER_02]: It's Christmas.
[00:07:30] [SPEAKER_01]: He better watch out.
[00:07:34] [SPEAKER_02]: Anyway, thanks everybody for watching these.
[00:07:36] [SPEAKER_01]: If I cared enough to tear him limb from limb.
[00:07:40] [SPEAKER_01]: He'll be fine.
[00:07:40] [SPEAKER_01]: There might be a problem.
[00:07:42] [SPEAKER_02]: He'll be fine.
[00:07:43] [SPEAKER_02]: Thanks everybody for watching these.
[00:07:45] [SPEAKER_02]: We've, we've had a good time doing it.
[00:07:47] [SPEAKER_02]: And I've been, I've enjoyed torturing Dave.
[00:07:49] [SPEAKER_02]: Have we had a good time doing this?
[00:07:51] [SPEAKER_01]: I don't know that we've had a good time doing this.
[00:07:53] [SPEAKER_01]: I like being with you in a room.
[00:07:57] [SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
[00:07:58] [SPEAKER_01]: Can I say one thing though?
[00:07:59] [SPEAKER_01]: You know, the real winner, the real winner of this is?
[00:08:01] [SPEAKER_01]: Jonathan Bennett.
[00:08:02] [SPEAKER_01]: Mr. Bennett.
[00:08:03] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm telling you.
[00:08:04] [SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
[00:08:05] [SPEAKER_01]: So number one, sweaters.
[00:08:08] [SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
[00:08:09] [SPEAKER_01]: A plus sweaters.
[00:08:11] [SPEAKER_01]: Every episode, like the kind that make Alonzo Duraldi drool with envy is like, where do I find that sweater?
[00:08:18] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[00:08:18] [SPEAKER_01]: Where do I buy that sweater?
[00:08:20] [SPEAKER_01]: If they were really on their game, they'd have been like, shop the look, like click on the little thing in the bottom of your screen, you know?
[00:08:29] [SPEAKER_01]: Secondly, I'm seeing him here.
[00:08:31] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm seeing him at the Macy's parade.
[00:08:34] [SPEAKER_01]: Ryan Seacrest better watch his back.
[00:08:37] [SPEAKER_01]: Mm-hmm.
[00:08:37] [SPEAKER_01]: Jonathan Bennett is coming for you.
[00:08:39] [SPEAKER_01]: And you know what?
[00:08:41] [SPEAKER_01]: We, the gays, we can make things happen.
[00:08:46] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[00:08:47] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[00:08:48] [SPEAKER_01]: Don't, don't underestimate us.
[00:08:49] [SPEAKER_02]: He is, he is walking.
[00:08:51] [SPEAKER_01]: We will, we will work for our own.
[00:08:54] [SPEAKER_02]: So.
[00:08:54] [SPEAKER_02]: We'll start a whisper campaign.
[00:08:56] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:08:57] [SPEAKER_02]: Jonathan Bennett is, is like on his A plus brand ambassador game with Hallmark this year.
[00:09:03] [SPEAKER_02]: Yep.
[00:09:03] [SPEAKER_02]: And so, yeah, he, the, the, the sky's the limit.
[00:09:06] [SPEAKER_02]: So look out everybody.
[00:09:08] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[00:09:09] [SPEAKER_02]: Also, Melissa Peterman makes great sites.
[00:09:11] [SPEAKER_01]: Go Jonathan Bennett.
[00:09:12] [SPEAKER_02]: Go Jonathan Bennett.
[00:09:13] [SPEAKER_02]: You're the real Mr. Christmas.
[00:09:15] [SPEAKER_02]: All right.
[00:09:16] [SPEAKER_02]: Thanks for watching you guys and Merry Christmas.
[00:09:19] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:09:26] [SPEAKER_00]: You're about to hear some ads that help keep the lights on here in the old studio.
[00:09:32] [SPEAKER_00]: Thanks for listening or don't listen.
[00:09:35] [SPEAKER_00]: And it's really up to you at this point.
[00:09:37] [SPEAKER_00]: It's at the end of the show.
[00:09:38] [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, you're listening to me.
[00:09:40] [SPEAKER_00]: Hi, but here they come.
[00:09:42] [SPEAKER_00]: I promise they're coming.
[00:09:43] [SPEAKER_00]: Yep.
[00:09:43] [SPEAKER_00]: Here they are.
[00:09:44] [SPEAKER_00]: Happy day.
[00:09:45] [SPEAKER_00]: You're time.
[00:09:45] Bye.
