"Christmas Island" originally aired November 11th, 2023. And it went a little something like this...
Kate is a pilot who is up for a private pilot gig but the key to this is flexibility! So much so that she is immediately given a gig to fly a high-power family to Switzerland for the holidays.
The Sharp family shows up at the airplane - the kids are sassy, the parents work too much - classic rich people. But it’s a pretty sweet gig for Kate - she’s gonna have her own fancy room in Switzerland until they have to fly back.
They get in the air and she tries to get chummy with the co-pilot - no dice. Then tries to get chummy with Oliver from air traffic control - no dice. Not long after, they hit some serious weather that they’re not predicting. Oliver says they’re advising all flights to make emergency airports. She’s not thrilled about it and makes that known, so Oliver forces her to land on an island off of Nova Scotia. It’s not ideal but luckily for them, it’s Christmas Island!
In a wild turn of events, Oliver from air traffic control is based in Christmas Island. He also happened to be a hunk. The B&B in town is booked up so a postal worker named Jim is like, "you can stay with me." They end up at a town meeting because the entire town is there, including Jim. When the mayor sees the Sharp family, she introduces them to the town as basically Martha Stewart.
Kate offers to help the family with anything while they’re grounded, so she is put in charge of Christmas. Oliver is like, "I’m doing a bunch of Christmas stuff over the next couple days - you and the Sharps are more than welcome to tag along."
Up first, she takes the kids candy making and Oliver is also there. Then they go see the lighthouse with Oliver. And wouldn’t you know it, Oliver and Kate are starting to enjoy themselves. The family helps decorate the Christmas tree together - they’re starting to actually spend time together.
Oliver and Kate spend the day together, taking a picture with Santa but she won’t tell him what the wish is she whispered to Santa. And then they get a romantic lunch and talk about life and love. The kids are helping Jim with mail and the girl reads her brothers letter to Santa - he wants his sister to like him more. She starts to realize that maybe she hasn’t been the most caring big sister.
Oliver and Kate are walking down the Christmas street and they almost kiss! But they get recruited by Jim and the kids - since they can’t send out the Santa letters cuz of the weather, they decide to band together and figure out a way to send them all digitally. After the mission is accomplished, Kate tells Oliver what her wish was - I wish Oliver knew how happy he made me this Christmas. And they 💋kiss💋big💋 ones💋 in a way only Andrew W. Walker can.
He next morning, he texts her and asks if she’s be his date or the Christmas Eve party. But what will she wear?! Luckily mama Sharp made custom dresses for everyone!
They all go to the party, they light the lobster trap Christmas lights when Oliver gets a call - flights are cleared to leave. She tells the family and they’re clearly not thrilled. Before they even get to the airport, they offer Kate the pilot job permanently.
They’re getting ready to take off when Oliver jumps on the radio and is like, "I can’t let you leave without telling you how I feel!" The family decides to stay in Christmas Island. She runs out of the plane to talk to Oliver and he’s like, "I don’t know host his is gonna work but I’m ready to get over my fear of flying" and they kiss biggggg💋💋💋💋 ones again as the snow falls and the Sharps all cheer.
And that my friends was "Christmas Island!"
