[00:00:00] Colin hi, I'm Brian. I love hallmark movies and mysteries. I'm Brian. I like hallmark movies mysteries
[00:00:06] I'm Dan and I despise hallmark movies and mysteries and this is the deck
[00:00:13] Market since podcast
[00:00:18] Friends host his podcast Oh man. Jesus needs to come back. Jesus take the wheel. Not my hallmark. Not my hallmark. Erin I see you're wearing a Jonas Brothers shirt today. I didn't notice that earlier today. I mean we've been here. I know I just noticed it. Were you maybe wearing another layer?
[00:01:40] Yeah I had a sweatshirt this morning.
[00:01:42] I didn't know we were doing Erin's outfit.
[00:01:44] This is fascinating.
[00:01:46] Hey Erin! Burn It Up's better than Waffle House. You were fine here until you heard her say Waffle House was the top three judges. I like Waffle House as much as the next guy. And then a switch was flipped. Yeah, Burn It Up is good, SOS is something. Yes! SOS, someone help me. No, Waffle House. To put Waffle House in front of those true classics.
[00:03:03] I just, those classics were after my time.
[00:03:06] I wasn't a Jo-Ro fan until 2019. Yeah, oh for sure. All the fame. It's gonna get weird. Thank you, Aaron. I still give me Story of My Life, but that's just me. Yeah. You like Story of My Life more than any Jonas Brothers song. Yes. That's because One Direction is better than the Jonas Brothers, and it's not even particularly close. In an overall catalog, I think One Direction's music
[00:04:22] is better than the Jonas Brothers. They're more talented. They're just better.
[00:04:26] Which one did Harry Styles come from? One Direction. That's Jonas Brothers on the leave, and I want to give them credit for Free Fall. The movie kicks off fast. A dude in a hood is walking around a warehouse with a gun. He's trying to find a woman who's trying to sneak out the door, but the door's locked. But she turns around and gives him a whole spiel. You got the crime?
[00:05:41] A spiel?
[00:05:42] I got the middle. I'll die in a small town. You better. That's good enough for me. I'll die in one. Don't say, whoa.
[00:07:00] Don't you, don't you don't, don't, don't.
[00:07:03] Why would you think I would think you've been working on anything? Not so much, but I did hear hello there and thought I would just pop my head right in and say, it's good to see you fine boys this day. So thoughtful. All right. Thank you. Anything we can help you with? I just bought a set of commemorative plates. Oh, wow. Fancy.
[00:08:23] Of what? Like what do you-
[00:08:24] Commemorative plates. What do you-
[00:08:25] It commemorates something, Brandon. good. We then meet some more people in town
[00:09:42] We meet a real estate agent that becomes hadley's BFF meet a locksmith
[00:10:47] at the station when the farmer comes in and admits to shooting Sam the skydiver. Phew.
[00:10:48] That is close. Roll credits.
[00:10:51] Yes, that's exactly right. He thought that a cougar was coming for his goats,
[00:10:57] so he goes out and gunshot and didn't mean to kill the guy. And that's when the hot detective,
[00:12:04] it's not and it's pretty clear that he's not. Then she's like, maybe it's my BFF. Maybe it's my new BFF. Maybe he wants to get close to me, get closer to Kay so that he kind of throw it, throw me off
[00:12:09] the track. And even like, she's like, maybe it's you. And he does not take that well. He's kind of
[00:12:13] hurt. I can't believe you would accuse me. And then right after that happens, an interesting thing
[00:12:19] develops. Somebody enters her home and steals all of her knives. Who could they would snap in the air. Boom, dead. Boom, boom. And so he's there, gone, and it basically mirrors what happens at the beginning of the movie, where she like says the line, like I had to do it. TV show, yeah. And then that's when Sean shows up, arrests them.
[00:13:40] They have a little moment together
[00:13:42] talking about how they like, not like each other,
[00:13:44] but I think the writing's on the wall there.
[00:13:46] A paparazzi picture takes a picture So if you're listening to this episode at around 1145 right now, that means towards the end of this episode, you're gonna have to make a choice. Am I going to continue to listen to this episode and then potentially have to listen to it on a loop for the next four years? Or am I going to turn it off and go to sleep? That's a decision that you're going to have to make here on
[00:15:01] leap day on leap day. So let's leap on into talking about this movie.
[00:15:06] We're going to start with a hot take.
[00:15:08] That's where we share exactly, two, one losers walk.
[00:16:20] Absolutely.
[00:16:20] So yeah, not bad.
[00:16:21] Not bad for me.
[00:16:23] Um, yeah, I did it Yeah Because at that point like of course you like of course didn't guess it Dan and I guessed it because he was the only one they weren't talking about So like yeah, it's probably the banjo guy and so like they didn't really give us a lot of the hey Um, I basically he's like I'm the locksmith for the entire town
[00:17:42] I weren't really given much of this whole story Yeah, the first time the dude, who's like a classic character actor in these Hallmark movies, comes on screen and says that he has changed the locks for literally every building in town, that's when you know that this guy's slightly more famous
[00:19:00] than the rest of the people that could do it,
[00:19:02] and he's got the keys to literally the entire town.
[00:19:06] Either he's the best red herring of all time, for the grinder. We get a little kickback on the back end. And I know that that's comedy, but they do a good job of mining the ludicrousness of the situation for what it should be mined for. And this is just like a setup. And then she takes herself very seriously and he takes himself very seriously. And so it doesn't quite work. The mystery wasn't interesting to me because I felt
[00:20:22] like we knew who did it immediately. It didn't seem well Greenwood's the star in that like yeah it's like she's doing a full performance absolutely I've always liked her she's okay in this to me I don't know I liked her character a lot and I didn't think that she was I felt like she was serious about trying to solve the crime while still having whimsy about her like I still thought I just like she was still like doing some things that you would see on tv that don't make sense and that's fair I think for me
[00:21:42] the the what I want to see in a movie like this is the actor who's been on the show for 10 years
[00:22:42] Okay, just power through. All right, okay
[00:22:44] We're good Okay, uh my feels
[00:22:51] Yes, Brian, you're good why
[00:22:55] Can I can they hear me in the truck all the fields Brian the security guy making the lactose intolerant joke
[00:23:01] Made me laugh out loud and then I rewound it to make sure I heard it, right
[00:23:04] I left I don't remember that joke. They were that he would be like laying somewhere or something, but to pull that back and have this guy hanging there,
[00:24:20] one was a really cool visual and two,
[00:24:23] I just didn't see it coming here on Hallmark.
[00:24:26] Sometimes they surprise me with what they don't go to big towns
[00:25:44] But what would happen if hypothetically you did die in a big town? Oh
[00:26:40] I don't know. Email us and tell us how you like it.
[00:26:43] Wait!
[00:26:44] What?
[00:26:45] What?
[00:26:46] What?
[00:26:47] Uh, right?
[00:26:47] That's terrible.
[00:26:48] I feel like the farmer, with this information
[00:26:50] of how he died from base jumping and landing in a tree,
[00:26:53] I feel like the farmer could have actually killed him.
[00:26:55] Like that fall's not gonna kill everybody, right?
[00:26:58] You might break your body, your bones.
[00:26:59] I think if you fall straight on the ground.
[00:27:02] I don't know if you're one of those-
[00:27:03] With nothing slowing you down from a plane?
[00:27:05] I thought the body should have been more mangled.
[00:27:08] I thought it was gonna be impressed and they said we spent time getting this body up here let's make it count yeah and she at the the body was is a gray line if the perps not already on the ground already dropped to the ground. Yeah. Drop it. Or I'll pick you back up, pick you up and drop you in a tree. I'll drop it.
[00:29:46] You drop it or I will drop your gun interesting. I wonder what that entails that is 24-7 Security and this guy's like yeah. Yeah But those can wait until never I would implore everybody to go into their local locksmiths
[00:32:02] trying to get out of like this warehouse. And so like she starts to mess with the door,
[00:32:04] but it's like she can't get out.
[00:32:06] Yeah.
[00:32:07] And at the end, she's trying to get out of her own house
[00:32:11] from the inside.
[00:32:13] You can most definitely unlock the door and run out.
[00:32:17] But she's like, it's locked.
[00:32:20] I've been locked.
[00:32:21] What do I do?
[00:32:22] I can't get out.
[00:32:24] And that made me laugh.
[00:32:25] Dana.
[00:32:26] I've been locksmith. You could not make yourself more of a city, like you need to call somebody. Now eventually they do because the cop shows up, but when you hear gunshots that are outside your house, now is the time to get a phone and call someone. Now, not later, now is the time to do that. You don't need to wait, it needs to happen right now.
[00:33:40] And then lastly, he gives her a CD.
[00:33:45] He gives her an actual CD. a yo-gabble-gabble. We will be there. Yeah, it's a cover. That goat's gonna end up in a tree. We did mention the knives were indeed out. Didn't have a lot of time to do that. I don't know how we did that. Because it's not like you can grab them all. Like they kind of, they're like, yeah. So that's a problem. Where are they? Where did he, did he just?
[00:35:02] Ah, throw the window.
[00:35:04] Are they just lying around in the dining room?
[00:35:06] Where are these knives?
[00:35:08] Out.
[00:35:08] They're done. We're gonna be back tomorrow with the March preview show How much will be in there? I don't know
[00:36:20] Even get a cream with one movie coming out
[00:36:25] You're thinking about it now, though, aren't you?
