[00:00:05] Hi, I'm Brian and I love Hallmark Mystery Movies. I'm Brian, I like Hallmark Mystery Movies. I'm Dan and I despise Hallmark Mystery Movies and this is the Deck The Hallmark Podcast. Deck The Hallmark, it's this podcast. I'm a friend's host, this podcast. We hope you like this jolly podcast. Well, well, well. Hello everybody. How are you? Oh boy.
[00:00:42] Hey, you're doing well. I'm Brian, Brian, I'm Stan. And we're smacked up in the middle. It's Hump Day, but it's a Christmas Hump Day.
[00:00:52] It's a Christmas Hump Day. You know, I can't really remember what we talked about yesterday.
[00:00:57] It was a haunted wedding. Yes, it was a haunted wedding. I can't remember though if we talked about it being the last movie or not because we may have, but it's not.
[00:01:08] We were lying then. We're telling the truth now. This is it. Tomorrow, have we previewed? Yeah, but do we need to kick off? You bet your socks we need to kick off because we can't kick off until we preview.
[00:01:20] We can't look back till we kick off and we can't watch till we kick off so we can look fully sick and we can rate them all. But marathons happening, Brandon. That's what's important.
[00:01:28] It sure is, Dan. I'm very excited about that. Very excited about the marathon. Very excited about just all sorts of stuff. And you said tomorrow's actually preview number two. Friday's kickoff.
[00:01:37] Yeah, and I knew that. I always know when the previews are there. I know. You're locked in. You have access to the spreadsheet and you go to it daily.
[00:01:44] Daily. You go to the spreadsheet daily. I'm a daily spreadsheet user. He's like anonymous. He was in that thing. He loves it. All the time. He loves it. Morning, noon, night. He's looking.
[00:01:50] Dude. A lot of people spend time in their Bibles. Every damn spreadsheet. That's right.
[00:01:53] My quiet time's in the sheets. You know what I mean? Shut up. Your focus time, too. Amen. That's right. Amen. Amen. Amen.
[00:02:03] That's good. We're talking Curious Caterer today, Forbidden Fruits. Last movie. We promised. There's a great shirt in there somewhere.
[00:02:09] It's the last on Christmas sheets. When's the ranking, the on Christmas ranking? We had to push and we'll get there eventually.
[00:02:15] This is how it happens. Eventually. This is how it happens. This is how it happens. This movie is how it happened. We'll get to it.
[00:02:21] The Q1 look back at Q1. The kickoff to the look back of the ranking you forgot to do.
[00:02:27] I was thinking we could do the Q3 ranking in Q1 of next year. I think it'll hit.
[00:02:32] It's basically a tradition now to be like two quarters behind.
[00:02:36] It might not happen. Who can say, really?
[00:02:38] You know what is happening? What's that?
[00:02:39] The marathon's happening. Yep.
[00:02:41] 6 p.m. Eastern. That's right.
[00:02:43] Friday night. Go to deckthehomework.com slash marathon.
[00:02:47] We're going to be drafting some movies. The whole gang's going to be there. Maybe be a white elephant gift party.
[00:02:54] We may be decorating a tree. We may be making cookies. We're going to be raising a lot of money for Beloved.
[00:02:59] And Asheville, they're helping out with the hurricane needs that are still very much present in Western North Carolina.
[00:03:06] So tune in. Give and give generously. And have a ton of fun kicking off the season before Halloween even starts.
[00:03:12] Cheers, everybody.
[00:03:12] It's going to be so much fun. We can't wait for it. Maybe there'll be some cheese curts.
[00:03:16] Maybe there'll... I don't know who we're sending.
[00:03:18] Is there one in Taylor's?
[00:03:20] What's that?
[00:03:21] Is there a Culver's nearby?
[00:03:22] There's got to be.
[00:03:23] No.
[00:03:23] I think there might be.
[00:03:24] I think there might be.
[00:03:26] Really?
[00:03:26] I think there might be.
[00:03:26] I'll look it up. Freeze.
[00:03:27] Up by...
[00:03:28] Freeze boy?
[00:03:29] Yeah. I think there might be.
[00:03:30] Oh, boy.
[00:03:31] I thought there was only two in town.
[00:03:32] I think there's one up there.
[00:03:34] There better be.
[00:03:34] In between Taylor's and Sparty.
[00:03:36] I think there might be.
[00:03:37] There's one in Greer.
[00:03:38] Okay.
[00:03:39] Okay.
[00:03:40] Okay.
[00:03:41] Okay.
[00:03:42] It's close.
[00:03:42] It's close.
[00:03:43] Okay.
[00:03:43] I'm looking up how far it is from our...
[00:03:45] My guess? You want my guess?
[00:03:47] Yeah.
[00:03:47] 12.
[00:03:48] 12 miles?
[00:03:48] 12 minutes.
[00:03:50] I forgot what our place...
[00:03:53] Don't say it out loud.
[00:03:55] It's out there.
[00:03:56] Oh, it is?
[00:03:56] Yeah.
[00:03:56] Okay.
[00:03:57] Is it the Oak Grove Inn?
[00:03:58] Yeah, the Oak Grove Inn.
[00:03:59] There are wonderful hosts over at the Oak Grove Inn.
[00:04:02] It's going to be a lot of fun.
[00:04:03] But how far is the Oak Grove Inn?
[00:04:04] Yeah, more Portland.
[00:04:05] Is that 37 Oak Grove Lake Road?
[00:04:08] Is that what it is?
[00:04:09] I can look.
[00:04:09] Because I don't have it.
[00:04:10] No, that's somebody's...
[00:04:11] This is good.
[00:04:12] Somebody's address.
[00:04:12] This is good audio.
[00:04:14] That's somebody's personal address.
[00:04:15] Yeah, you're giving out someone's first.
[00:04:17] 37.
[00:04:17] Oak View.
[00:04:18] Oak View.
[00:04:18] Oak View.
[00:04:19] Oak View.
[00:04:19] That's what it was.
[00:04:20] I got it.
[00:04:21] I got it.
[00:04:21] I got it.
[00:04:21] Yep.
[00:04:22] Yep.
[00:04:22] Yep.
[00:04:23] Wow.
[00:04:23] We're doing well.
[00:04:25] And yeah, you guys can come crash it if you want to.
[00:04:27] It is a four-mile, nine-minute drive to the New York College.
[00:04:31] Closer than the studio by 60 or 70%.
[00:04:35] Boy.
[00:04:35] My gosh.
[00:04:36] We're going to eat all their curds.
[00:04:37] Oh, my gosh.
[00:04:37] We're going to put them out of business.
[00:04:38] Oh, my gosh.
[00:04:39] Curd-wise.
[00:04:40] You guys are going to be like, how many curds are they eating?
[00:04:42] For every dollar raised, we will eat one curds.
[00:04:45] Do not.
[00:04:45] You're going to do this again, huh?
[00:04:46] Do not do it.
[00:04:47] Don't do it, Brandon.
[00:04:48] Hub puke face.
[00:04:49] We have a lot more people.
[00:04:50] We gave him $11,000 last year.
[00:04:52] We cannot eat 11,000 curds.
[00:04:54] Divided by seven, eight, nine, 12 people.
[00:04:56] Yes.
[00:04:57] That's only 1,000 curds a person.
[00:04:59] When Brad got us into the cookie fiasco, I knew how many cookies I could eat, and I knew
[00:05:03] we were fine.
[00:05:03] How many curds were?
[00:05:04] This is not fine.
[00:05:05] What did we just eat?
[00:05:06] How about every 100?
[00:05:07] 50?
[00:05:07] Every $100, one curd?
[00:05:10] That would be $100 and...
[00:05:12] Come on, math boy.
[00:05:16] Let's see.
[00:05:18] If we raise $11,000...
[00:05:22] Yep.
[00:05:23] Carry the two.
[00:05:24] Don't forget that.
[00:05:24] We'd only be eating 110 curds, which is what I thought.
[00:05:26] That's nothing.
[00:05:27] That's nothing.
[00:05:28] We just did that now.
[00:05:29] I think we made it.
[00:05:30] Yeah, I think we did that just now.
[00:05:32] How about every 10 bucks?
[00:05:34] Okay.
[00:05:34] Every $10 a curd?
[00:05:35] That's 1,000...
[00:05:36] You're in on this.
[00:05:37] We are doing it.
[00:05:38] We are doing it.
[00:05:39] That's 1,100 curds.
[00:05:41] That's a little much.
[00:05:41] Over two days?
[00:05:43] Between 12 people?
[00:05:44] How many are you eating, Bri?
[00:05:45] I...
[00:05:46] Listen here, Mr. I'm hanging off of carbs and drinking shakes.
[00:05:49] This isn't a...
[00:05:50] You tell me how many you're in for.
[00:05:51] Those aren't meat.
[00:05:52] Because if I'm sitting here eating 800 curds when Bran throws up after 200...
[00:05:56] 800 seems like a lot.
[00:05:57] It's a lot.
[00:05:57] I could eat probably 300 curds.
[00:05:59] There's no body and nobody that is better with the cheese and dairy than I am.
[00:06:06] So this isn't going to be a problem for me.
[00:06:08] We'll lead it to the flock on this one.
[00:06:09] Every $20 raise, if we raised 11,000, that would be 550 curds.
[00:06:14] And I think that is doable but tough.
[00:06:16] Oh, that's...
[00:06:17] Yeah.
[00:06:17] I don't know why we would add it.
[00:06:18] We have all kinds of incentives.
[00:06:20] It's a bad idea.
[00:06:20] Do people even want it?
[00:06:22] No.
[00:06:22] Nobody wants it.
[00:06:23] You don't think so?
[00:06:24] Yeah.
[00:06:25] Maybe they'll listen to this episode later.
[00:06:26] Let's do it anyway.
[00:06:26] It's a bad idea.
[00:06:27] Let's do it anyway.
[00:06:27] We cannot do this.
[00:06:29] Let's do Michael Killen.
[00:06:30] Thanks.
[00:06:30] We'll eat the...
[00:06:31] We'll eat...
[00:06:32] Shout out, Michael.
[00:06:34] We'll be eating the curds regardless.
[00:06:38] Why put a number on it?
[00:06:40] You know?
[00:06:40] We might go through 500...
[00:06:42] Why limit ourselves at 550?
[00:06:43] Exactly.
[00:06:44] That's right.
[00:06:45] How about you not tie curds to dollars?
[00:06:47] Well, again...
[00:06:49] It's the only way to do it.
[00:06:50] That's the only way I understand.
[00:06:52] Donuts to dollars and curds to dollars is how...
[00:06:54] It's a bad idea.
[00:06:55] We're not doing it.
[00:06:56] You're not doing it.
[00:06:58] Curious Caterer Forbidden Fruit originally aired on the 11th of October, and it went a little something
[00:07:03] like this.
[00:07:03] We started 20 years ago, and the Faithfuls are an up-and-coming band.
[00:07:09] They're huge.
[00:07:09] People love them.
[00:07:11] They are on a tour bus.
[00:07:12] They're cheersing and whatnot.
[00:07:15] And then the next thing you know, Fade to Black, bang!
[00:07:18] Gunshot.
[00:07:19] Crash.
[00:07:20] Car crash.
[00:07:20] I thought it was going to be the bus.
[00:07:22] It's exactly what I thought for about half the movie.
[00:07:25] Thank you!
[00:07:26] It should have been the bus.
[00:07:27] Anytime you and me are on the same page, I feel better about it.
[00:07:31] It was a car crash, though.
[00:07:32] Spoiler alert.
[00:07:34] I guess this all is a spoiler, but...
[00:07:36] Cut to Goldie.
[00:07:37] She is getting ready to go out with Tom.
[00:07:42] The Faithfuls are back.
[00:07:45] One night only, 20 years after their bassist and singer died in a car crash 20 years ago.
[00:07:55] Not a bus crash.
[00:07:56] Even though that's what I wrote down here.
[00:07:57] It's not.
[00:07:57] It is a car crash.
[00:07:58] It's a big night because the reunion, but also because Goldie and Tom are going together.
[00:08:05] And it is huge.
[00:08:07] First date status, everybody.
[00:08:10] But Goldie gets a big call.
[00:08:12] The Faithfuls need a caterer last minute.
[00:08:15] She reluctantly agrees after finding out that it would come with all access passes.
[00:08:21] They're going to be backstage.
[00:08:22] You're going to be...
[00:08:23] VIP?
[00:08:24] They got VIP.
[00:08:25] They got VIP.
[00:08:26] Let's kick it.
[00:08:26] Wow.
[00:08:27] I know.
[00:08:29] They get to the venue, and it appears that all is not well because the venue is old.
[00:08:35] It has a lot of electrical issues, and so they're going to have to use a generator or something.
[00:08:40] But it's not just the electricity that has issues.
[00:08:43] The band doesn't seem to be in a good spot.
[00:08:45] There's guitarist Derek, lead singer Selena, and drummer Jax, who is Abby's brother, the one who died.
[00:08:58] And, of course, longtime manager Nicola Du is really hopeful that this reunion is going to bring them all back together and maybe do a nice little payday for her.
[00:09:12] When they come on stage, the guitarist Derek says he would like to do a solo first.
[00:09:20] I'm going to sneeze.
[00:09:23] He said, I'd like to do a solo.
[00:09:25] I'm going to sneeze.
[00:09:26] That's what he said.
[00:09:27] That's what he said.
[00:09:28] Everybody get out of the way.
[00:09:29] The mic better not be hot.
[00:09:31] He did...
[00:09:32] He wants to sing, apparently, is what he wants to do.
[00:09:35] And he says that he is going to take one of their old songs, but he has new...
[00:09:38] Everclear's old songs.
[00:09:41] Everclear's old songs.
[00:09:42] But he's got some new lyrics to it.
[00:09:44] Father of mine.
[00:09:44] He's playing the song, It's Father of Mine, and it's sounding good, but when he grabs the mic...
[00:09:51] I will buy you a murder.
[00:09:53] He gets electrocuted and dies.
[00:09:57] So Tom is immediately...
[00:10:01] Tom is immediately on the case.
[00:10:04] He starts interviewing the sound guy because, obviously, this is an electrocule issue of sorts.
[00:10:12] Electrocule.
[00:10:13] Electrocule.
[00:10:14] There's nothing cool about electrocule.
[00:10:17] When he goes backstage...
[00:10:18] Electrocule.
[00:10:19] That's how you really light up the holiday season with your electrocule.
[00:10:22] That's right.
[00:10:24] When he goes backstage to talk to the band, it is clear that they're not doing well.
[00:10:29] And suddenly, Jax is found on the ground.
[00:10:33] He's been poisoned, but he's not dead.
[00:10:36] Tom is in a tough spot here because he knows that Goldie needs to be brought in for questioning because food.
[00:10:42] But, you know, they're together.
[00:10:44] So, obviously, he can't do it himself, so he sends Mason to do it.
[00:10:48] Mason goes and is like, hey, you're going to want to come with me.
[00:10:52] I'll explain on the way.
[00:10:54] Obviously, though, she's clear.
[00:10:56] Everything's good.
[00:10:57] And it begins to become clear that Claire, Richard's new girlfriend, and Richard is Goldie's ex-husband, is...
[00:11:06] She's the head of the Faithfuls.
[00:11:10] She's a big fan.
[00:11:11] And she's also a stalker, a psycho stalker.
[00:11:15] They figure out pretty quickly that she has been stalking one of the members of the band for a long time,
[00:11:21] that she's, like, sneaking around, that she's paying police for pictures of the crash and all sorts of stuff.
[00:11:28] She's a lot.
[00:11:29] But did she kill?
[00:11:30] Is she a killer?
[00:11:32] It becomes pretty obvious she doesn't know how to kill or even, like, what would go into electrocuting somebody or anything like that.
[00:11:42] They also find cyanide, which was the poison of choice.
[00:11:47] There's trace amounts.
[00:11:49] Hello?
[00:11:49] There's trace amounts of cyanide in basically everybody.
[00:11:55] So it's pretty clear that she didn't really do anything.
[00:11:59] Of course.
[00:11:59] She doesn't know anything.
[00:12:01] She doesn't know electricity or anything like that.
[00:12:03] And so you might be wondering yourself.
[00:12:05] So?
[00:12:06] What does that mean?
[00:12:08] Oh, I've been wondering for years.
[00:12:09] Who has done it?
[00:12:10] Who could have?
[00:12:11] Who did it?
[00:12:11] Who done it?
[00:12:12] Who could it be knocking at my door?
[00:12:15] Or a better mystery series.
[00:12:17] After kind of exchanging murder boards.
[00:12:23] Sure.
[00:12:23] They figure out some clues and they figure out that there were these lyrics that Derek, the one who died, had written.
[00:12:31] And he wanted to sing those on stage.
[00:12:34] And there's lots of little things inside the song that seem like he is admitting to being the one responsible for the death of Jax's sister.
[00:12:47] And so they figure out maybe Jax figured this out and is trying to get revenge.
[00:12:53] And unfortunately, Jax is on a date with, I don't remember her name, but what?
[00:13:31] What?
[00:13:34] And Goldie says, I know just what to do.
[00:13:36] And he starts singing to him the words from the song that were changed, showcasing everything that they have laid out here and saying, hey, we know that you found out and that you wanted him to pay for it.
[00:13:51] And you didn't want him to have the closure of finally getting it out in the open because that's what he wanted to begin with.
[00:13:59] He wanted to start the show off by basically admitting to what had happened.
[00:14:04] And he didn't want him to have that type of closure and he wanted him to pay for it.
[00:14:07] And so she sings some more.
[00:14:10] They end up going out into the back alley.
[00:14:12] The police show up and they arrest him.
[00:14:15] They get it thanks to Tom being able to tackle him.
[00:14:17] It's great.
[00:14:17] It's big fun.
[00:14:18] And the movie ends with Goldie and Tom finally getting together for a proper date in which Tom is like, we don't need first dates.
[00:14:29] We don't need limos.
[00:14:30] We're past that.
[00:14:32] And then they kiss big old honking ones.
[00:14:35] And now, my friends, was Curious Caterer Forbidden Fruits.
[00:14:42] We did do it.
[00:14:43] Let's take a quick break.
[00:14:44] We'll come back and we will do a little thing called the segments.
[00:14:48] That's what we can do.
[00:14:49] That's what we're calling them.
[00:14:50] Here, on.
[00:14:50] Deck the hallmark.
[00:14:51] Deck the hallmark.
[00:14:52] It is cool.
[00:14:53] It is cool.
[00:14:54] So cool.
[00:14:57] Heard that honk.
[00:15:00] Welcome back, everybody.
[00:15:02] Heard that honk.
[00:15:02] Hopefully you're doing well.
[00:15:03] I hear that.
[00:15:04] I see that honk.
[00:15:05] Every head bowed.
[00:15:06] Whatever eyes closed.
[00:15:07] Every honk-tonked.
[00:15:08] Honk-honk.
[00:15:10] Just give me a quiet little honk.
[00:15:11] Come with me.
[00:15:13] If you prayed that prayer.
[00:15:14] No one will look up.
[00:15:16] No eyes are on you.
[00:15:17] Do you remember when, during COVID, and they started having the speeches?
[00:15:23] Like, when they were running for private, and people would honk?
[00:15:25] Yes.
[00:15:26] What a time to be alive.
[00:15:27] That sucks.
[00:15:28] Yeah.
[00:15:29] Let's get to the hot takes where we share exactly how we felt about this movie.
[00:15:33] We do not hold back.
[00:15:34] Not our first rodeo in regards to The Curious Caterer.
[00:15:37] How are we feeling about this franchise?
[00:15:39] Is this our fourth rodeo?
[00:15:39] Fourth or fifth, I think.
[00:15:41] I think it's fourth.
[00:15:42] I think it's fourth.
[00:15:42] Fourth.
[00:15:43] Fourth.
[00:15:44] Let's get to our thoughts.
[00:15:45] What do you think, Brian?
[00:15:46] I feel like a little bit jaded and spoiled is my first thought because I finished the movie
[00:15:52] and I was like, yeah, it was pretty good.
[00:15:54] It's pretty good.
[00:15:55] And then I realized, like, writing all the things down about it and thinking about it,
[00:15:59] where we started and where we are, like, we've come a long way.
[00:16:03] These things are really good.
[00:16:04] Like, the bar is pretty high with these mysteries.
[00:16:07] And I enjoy this mystery.
[00:16:09] It's Five Guys.
[00:16:09] This is the fifth?
[00:16:11] There is the first one, the grilling season one, this one, and the one where they're all
[00:16:16] locked in the Renaissance thing.
[00:16:17] There's a foil plans.
[00:16:18] What's the other one?
[00:16:20] Oh, the one with the bride, with the wedding gown.
[00:16:24] Mm-hmm.
[00:16:25] Mm-hmm.
[00:16:25] That's the other one.
[00:16:26] Yes, five.
[00:16:27] That was the last one, I think.
[00:16:28] I was doing it by feeling, but yes.
[00:16:30] Yeah, well, I have a spreadsheet where I write them down when they're announced.
[00:16:33] Spreadsheets, yeah.
[00:16:33] The original title for this was Curious Caterer Drumstick Drama.
[00:16:39] Oh, I hate it.
[00:16:39] That gives it away immediately.
[00:16:41] I hate it.
[00:16:41] You can't do that.
[00:16:42] I hate it.
[00:16:43] There were drumsticks, though.
[00:16:44] There were drumsticks.
[00:16:46] Vegan.
[00:16:47] Of course.
[00:16:49] So, yeah.
[00:16:50] We've come a long way, is what you're saying.
[00:16:51] Yeah, we have come a long way.
[00:16:53] Five of them, wow.
[00:16:55] I feel like there's a lot about this I like.
[00:16:58] It's not my favorite of them.
[00:16:59] It's probably middle of the pack.
[00:17:02] The band reunion is a very cool idea.
[00:17:05] Yeah.
[00:17:05] I like that a lot.
[00:17:06] Yeah.
[00:17:06] I think that's very cool.
[00:17:07] I don't like the murder.
[00:17:08] Like, I don't like what happened in this.
[00:17:10] I don't like how he died.
[00:17:12] Like, the way he died on stage was pretty phenomenal.
[00:17:15] Like, the way that happened was pretty great.
[00:17:17] Oh, yeah.
[00:17:17] But I don't like how it was executed.
[00:17:20] That the drummer ended up killing him so publicly.
[00:17:23] And it was on such a display.
[00:17:25] And there was so, so much happening.
[00:17:29] Like, in the public sphere for everybody to see from such a, not a private band, but a band that's been, like, out of the spotlight for so long.
[00:17:36] So, I don't know.
[00:17:38] I thought it was pretty good.
[00:17:39] Pretty good job.
[00:17:40] Not my favorite of the series, but really love having them continue this and keep this going.
[00:17:46] Yeah.
[00:17:46] I mean, I thought that the actual murder, the electrocution, was a lot of fun.
[00:17:54] Didn't see it coming.
[00:17:56] I will say, very similar to A Death That Happened on Poker Face, a great show from last year.
[00:18:03] And so, maybe if I hadn't seen that, it would have hit even better.
[00:18:06] Like, oh, my gosh.
[00:18:08] Sure.
[00:18:08] But to agree with what you're saying, Brian, the whodunit of it all is clunky.
[00:18:15] It's a bit messy.
[00:18:16] Not my favorite of those.
[00:18:18] But Nikki and Andrew are as good as they've ever been together in this movie.
[00:18:23] The chemistry, the tension, it's off the hook.
[00:18:26] The kiss at the end, wonderful.
[00:18:29] And so, while most mysteries are like, hey, do I care about the mystery?
[00:18:35] Really, with the curious caterer, it's just like, are these two going to kiss?
[00:18:40] Are we going to get a good kiss here at the end?
[00:18:42] And so, we got that.
[00:18:43] And that kiss, I think, saves a lot with this movie where the mystery itself, I like the overall idea of it.
[00:18:51] But just the execution was a bit clunky.
[00:18:54] But overall, great kiss, great movie.
[00:18:56] Dan?
[00:18:57] Yeah, I think it's my least favorite of these movies.
[00:18:59] And I think it's because the case is not great.
[00:19:02] I think you guys both have alluded to that.
[00:19:04] But it's the first time that I felt like this particular series fell victim to the stuff, the case full of characters, tell you how each of them might have done it, and just spend your time explaining it for the majority of the movie.
[00:19:20] I like the idea of the band reunion.
[00:19:22] I love the kill.
[00:19:24] That's going to be my feels anyway, with him getting himself electrocute on the microphone.
[00:19:28] Spoiler alert.
[00:19:30] Nikki and Andrew are so good together.
[00:19:34] I said it watching the movie.
[00:19:36] Nikki's amazing.
[00:19:38] She's one of the best we have.
[00:19:40] Andrew Walker's the best Hallmark leading man.
[00:19:43] If you want, I'm not, hear what I'm saying, not what I'm not saying.
[00:19:47] Like, Chris Palaha, character actor extraordinaire, can just hide in any character.
[00:19:53] Tyler Hines has his own very specific thing going on, but the role of Hallmark leading man, which is not as easy to play as I think people think it is, no one does it better than Andrew Walker.
[00:20:05] And those two together are dynamite.
[00:20:07] This is the worst case, subsequently the worst movie, even though it has a fun kill and good chemistry.
[00:20:14] I did not care nearly as much as I did in all four of the other ones, all five of the other ones, even.
[00:20:20] So there's that.
[00:20:20] Fair enough.
[00:20:21] Let's get to the feels.
[00:20:22] Since you've already kind of segued into it, Dano, which is my job, we'll talk about that off air.
[00:20:27] That's cool.
[00:20:28] All the errors.
[00:20:29] Don't lessen my feelings, Brandon.
[00:20:32] I hear what you're not saying.
[00:20:33] Don't lessen my feelings.
[00:20:34] Good.
[00:20:34] You're going to have a, what's it called?
[00:20:36] What was it at the Christian schools where you would get in trouble and they would give you a...
[00:20:42] Detention?
[00:20:42] Demerit?
[00:20:42] No, demerit.
[00:20:43] Demerit.
[00:20:44] Every school happens.
[00:20:45] I don't think that's a Christian school thing.
[00:20:46] You're going to get a demerit.
[00:20:47] I don't think I ever got a demerit.
[00:20:48] No.
[00:20:49] I don't think I ever got detention.
[00:20:51] Maybe one time, but that stuff scared me.
[00:20:53] Yeah.
[00:20:54] Parents going to find out.
[00:20:55] I can imagine you never broke a rule.
[00:20:58] Like, did you ever break a rule in high school?
[00:21:00] Yeah, I did.
[00:21:00] I did.
[00:21:01] What rules did you break?
[00:21:03] I broke the rule where you're supposed to go to school every day.
[00:21:05] Did you skip school?
[00:21:05] I skipped school a few, a couple, a few times.
[00:21:08] But while you were there, you were under the radar.
[00:21:10] Oh, yeah.
[00:21:11] When I'm at school, I'm behaving.
[00:21:12] You were obviously, though, if the, you said you didn't want to get detention or whatever
[00:21:17] because your parents would find out.
[00:21:18] Get in trouble, yeah.
[00:21:18] Did your parents not find out that you were skipping school?
[00:21:20] You were truant?
[00:21:22] I don't know.
[00:21:23] I don't know.
[00:21:23] Really?
[00:21:23] I thought I was pretty sneaky about it.
[00:21:24] I feel like if I skipped school, there would be a phone call.
[00:21:27] This documentation.
[00:21:29] In high school, I don't know.
[00:21:30] Maybe they just lose track of you a little bit more.
[00:21:31] In high school, it's a little different.
[00:21:32] It really is.
[00:21:33] Like, you know.
[00:21:35] You can explain some stuff away.
[00:21:36] Like, oh, I don't know.
[00:21:37] They must have messed up.
[00:21:38] Administrative error.
[00:21:39] They're so understaffed there.
[00:21:40] Like, you should volunteer, Mom.
[00:21:41] What have you been doing all day?
[00:21:43] Wow.
[00:21:43] Why are you keeping track of me?
[00:21:44] Oh, okay.
[00:21:44] Why are you not worried about where I am?
[00:21:46] What the heck?
[00:21:48] Man.
[00:21:49] What are your feels?
[00:21:50] My feels.
[00:21:51] Andrew in the leather jacket.
[00:21:53] Holy cow.
[00:21:54] Wow.
[00:21:54] Come on.
[00:21:54] I'm not a leather jacket guy.
[00:21:56] Like, I don't rock a leather jacket, obviously.
[00:21:59] I beg to differ.
[00:21:59] I saw you earlier today.
[00:22:01] Excluding the bomber jacket.
[00:22:03] Which, again, and I don't want to be a bad point here.
[00:22:06] But it's getting crowded in the office.
[00:22:07] Not enough room for all the fun stuff with all the boxes.
[00:22:10] There's so deckdommer.com.shop.
[00:22:11] Please buy.
[00:22:12] If you can see right off the edges of this.
[00:22:15] I'm surprised they haven't fallen in on us.
[00:22:17] It's just unbelievable.
[00:22:18] Here they come.
[00:22:19] Oh, my gosh.
[00:22:20] We got to get out of here.
[00:22:21] Good God.
[00:22:22] They're falling from the rafters.
[00:22:24] We have rafters.
[00:22:25] We put in rafters for the bomber jackets.
[00:22:28] And they're great jackets.
[00:22:29] They are.
[00:22:29] It's just we didn't realize no one wanted one.
[00:22:32] We didn't realize.
[00:22:33] We've said everyone's going to want them.
[00:22:35] We have.
[00:22:36] Everyone's going to want them.
[00:22:37] You remember?
[00:22:38] We were supposed to wear them to Christmas Con.
[00:22:39] We were going to all wear them on the plane.
[00:22:41] On the plane.
[00:22:42] Getting off the plane.
[00:22:43] Do a whole thing with smoke.
[00:22:44] This is maybe our chance this year.
[00:22:47] We don't have to do a Santa thing.
[00:22:49] That's true.
[00:22:49] We did that.
[00:22:50] We don't have to ever do that again.
[00:22:51] So, yeah.
[00:22:51] Andrew in a leather jacket.
[00:22:53] Wow.
[00:22:53] Come on.
[00:22:53] I should get on one of ours.
[00:22:55] Send him a bomber jacket?
[00:22:56] Yeah.
[00:22:56] I mean, we have plenty.
[00:22:58] Yeah.
[00:22:58] We could spare one or two.
[00:23:00] Unless we sell out this weekend, which would be literally a miracle.
[00:23:03] Yeah.
[00:23:03] On 34th.
[00:23:04] Yeah.
[00:23:04] On 34th.
[00:23:05] You can go.
[00:23:05] 35th.
[00:23:06] So, you know, we got it with the one that was in the school.
[00:23:10] I felt like they really let the actor who's playing.
[00:23:16] The Renaissance pharaoh.
[00:23:18] Yes.
[00:23:20] Yeah.
[00:23:20] Inside of her.
[00:23:22] Yeah.
[00:23:22] I felt like Goldie's daughter really started.
[00:23:25] They were like, let's use this girl.
[00:23:27] And she was solid.
[00:23:29] And I felt like the scenes that she was in in this one, especially with like when she
[00:23:34] made a realization looking at the murder board and stuff like that.
[00:23:37] Yeah.
[00:23:37] I felt like she's like genuinely bringing stuff to this movie, which most kids don't
[00:23:44] really do in these movies.
[00:23:45] They're just kind of like, oh, yeah, this character has a kid.
[00:23:47] And sometimes they're cute.
[00:23:48] And sometimes they say funny things.
[00:23:50] Yeah.
[00:23:50] I felt like they're actually trying to utilize her to move the story forward.
[00:23:54] And I appreciate that.
[00:23:55] So shout out to her.
[00:23:56] Let's take a quick break.
[00:23:57] We'll come back.
[00:23:57] We'll get to the way what and the what.
[00:23:58] The Hallmark.
[00:23:59] Kieran.
[00:23:59] Take the Hallmark.
[00:24:09] I mean, Lisa says she loves her jacket.
[00:24:11] Lisa does have a jacket.
[00:24:13] I love mine.
[00:24:13] I love the hundreds we have here.
[00:24:15] Take the Hallmark.
[00:24:15] Every single one of them.
[00:24:17] We've worn all of them at this point.
[00:24:18] They're actually doing a good job from a soundproofing standpoint.
[00:24:21] Without them, the Raptors, it would echo like crazy in here.
[00:24:24] But those jackets.
[00:24:25] Yeah.
[00:24:25] Take the Hallmark.com slash shop, everybody.
[00:24:27] We got some new merch coming real soon.
[00:24:30] Promo.
[00:24:31] Code Sharon 85.
[00:24:33] Very exciting.
[00:24:34] They're possibly in boxes in my car right now.
[00:24:37] Yeah, maybe.
[00:24:37] Maybe.
[00:24:38] Let's get to the way what is.
[00:24:40] We're talking about what in this movie is going on.
[00:24:42] I'll start with you, Brian.
[00:24:43] I think we're just ordering food at this point for the band, right?
[00:24:48] Like, you're not calling a caterer the day of.
[00:24:50] That's right.
[00:24:50] That's just.
[00:24:51] That's a weird bit for a band that's going to be in town one night.
[00:24:54] Yeah.
[00:24:54] For a very small tank.
[00:24:56] A tiny.
[00:24:57] And also a small.
[00:24:58] Like, they didn't need a lot.
[00:25:00] She made smoothies and heated up chicken wings.
[00:25:02] Like, kind of ridiculous there.
[00:25:04] And just the venue kitchen.
[00:25:05] It looks like that kitchen was upstairs at the venue.
[00:25:08] And it looks like it's open to the venue.
[00:25:10] Which is disgusting for a venue.
[00:25:13] A music venue where people are definitely smoking in there.
[00:25:16] Doing whatever they're doing in there.
[00:25:18] All that just going into the kitchen and the food.
[00:25:20] Just kind of gross.
[00:25:22] The candlelight vigil.
[00:25:26] Karaoke candlelight vigil is either a high or a low.
[00:25:29] Karaoke candlelight vigil is a move.
[00:25:31] I didn't know it was something that I wanted.
[00:25:33] But now I do.
[00:25:34] I've already worked it into my will.
[00:25:36] It's something I'm requiring.
[00:25:37] Yeah.
[00:25:38] Everybody has to sing a song or you can't come.
[00:25:39] It's such a move.
[00:25:40] It was so funny.
[00:25:41] Do you hear that, guys?
[00:25:42] I heard you.
[00:25:42] You can't go.
[00:25:43] I'll sing a song, Brent.
[00:25:44] When you're done before me, we've already, you know.
[00:25:46] 100%.
[00:25:46] Yeah.
[00:25:46] You're going to pick the songs for the people?
[00:25:48] You pick something with a real high.
[00:25:49] I actually really like that.
[00:25:52] My last little.
[00:25:53] Last little.
[00:25:54] Dan has to sing.
[00:25:55] Don't stop.
[00:25:57] Candlelight vigil.
[00:25:59] That's a small.
[00:25:59] And he can't.
[00:26:00] And he can't phone it in either.
[00:26:02] Because.
[00:26:02] You got to really do it.
[00:26:04] I'll see.
[00:26:05] I'll be watching.
[00:26:06] And if you phone it in.
[00:26:07] Haunting you.
[00:26:09] So be careful.
[00:26:11] Hit those high notes.
[00:26:12] Yeah.
[00:26:12] That was a good.
[00:26:13] That was a good move or maybe a terrible move.
[00:26:15] Funny thing.
[00:26:16] Nonetheless.
[00:26:17] I love that they started the song.
[00:26:19] And they're just going up to people.
[00:26:21] You want to sing?
[00:26:22] You want to sing?
[00:26:23] Ridiculous.
[00:26:24] It's a bold move.
[00:26:24] It really is.
[00:26:26] And maybe it's good that the band never made it big.
[00:26:29] Because they can't handle the spotlight.
[00:26:31] Like the guy.
[00:26:32] The singer.
[00:26:33] His move.
[00:26:34] The first thing they're going to do on stage.
[00:26:35] Is he's going to announce the murder basically.
[00:26:37] Like in a song that he rewrote.
[00:26:39] That was written by the girl he murdered.
[00:26:41] It's true.
[00:26:41] The drummer.
[00:26:43] Does the most public execution I've ever seen in a movie.
[00:26:46] So like these guys cannot handle like this stage.
[00:26:49] Literally.
[00:26:50] And figuratively.
[00:26:50] Like it was the weirdest thing.
[00:26:52] Like I would have expected Jax to.
[00:26:55] This is a very personal kill for him.
[00:26:57] This first one is always super personal.
[00:26:59] So you've heard.
[00:27:01] So I've heard.
[00:27:02] So you've heard.
[00:27:03] So I've heard.
[00:27:04] Yes.
[00:27:04] From criminal folk.
[00:27:06] From criminal folk.
[00:27:07] You would think he would have done it like.
[00:27:08] That's what I told him.
[00:27:09] You know.
[00:27:09] Like not planned it out so well.
[00:27:11] He would have just reacted.
[00:27:12] And just done something to kill him off.
[00:27:15] And also.
[00:27:15] Because the one that.
[00:27:17] The murder that ends up killing him.
[00:27:19] Was the backup plan.
[00:27:20] Right?
[00:27:20] Yeah.
[00:27:21] Wasn't the poison.
[00:27:21] He was going to poison.
[00:27:22] Like originally it was the poison.
[00:27:23] But then there was a switch him up.
[00:27:24] Yes.
[00:27:24] And he had a backup plan.
[00:27:25] Yeah.
[00:27:26] Which is so complicated.
[00:27:27] With electric.
[00:27:29] Like so many things involved in that.
[00:27:31] It's a weird backup plan.
[00:27:32] He puts so much thought into the murder.
[00:27:35] Like it's incredible the amount of planning he did for this.
[00:27:37] When he could have just done anything.
[00:27:39] Like anything.
[00:27:40] He looks pretty good with a knife.
[00:27:41] He could have just used a knife somewhere.
[00:27:43] And everyone.
[00:27:44] Everyone gets access to this stage.
[00:27:46] Not a soul is not allowed on stage.
[00:27:48] If you can get into that venue.
[00:27:50] You're on stage.
[00:27:50] Like there's just no security.
[00:27:52] There's no.
[00:27:53] A big part of my what the hallmark is.
[00:27:55] The.
[00:27:56] Just the.
[00:27:57] The staff around venue and band.
[00:28:00] There is none.
[00:28:00] Like there's one guy.
[00:28:02] And hardly anybody else doing anything.
[00:28:04] And so.
[00:28:04] A lot of.
[00:28:05] A lot of stuff.
[00:28:06] Like I love this idea of the band coming back.
[00:28:08] But there's just so many gaps.
[00:28:09] That I feel like.
[00:28:10] They could have simplified it.
[00:28:12] And just.
[00:28:12] Have one of the people come back.
[00:28:14] You know.
[00:28:14] Like just tone it down.
[00:28:15] But.
[00:28:15] To some other stuff.
[00:28:17] But I'll let you guys.
[00:28:18] Take a stab at it.
[00:28:19] Well I want to give a shout out to.
[00:28:21] Early on.
[00:28:22] In the movie.
[00:28:24] They showcase.
[00:28:26] A death.
[00:28:27] Like a car crash.
[00:28:29] And then it.
[00:28:30] No.
[00:28:32] Oh man.
[00:28:34] I'm on fire.
[00:28:37] What?
[00:28:38] I'm burning.
[00:28:42] It fades to black.
[00:28:43] And it does this thing.
[00:28:45] That they do sometimes.
[00:28:45] In movies or whatnot.
[00:28:46] Where.
[00:28:47] Fades to black.
[00:28:48] And then it ends with a little snippet.
[00:28:49] Of a song.
[00:28:50] Like.
[00:28:50] Fade to black.
[00:28:52] Or something like that.
[00:28:54] This snippet.
[00:28:55] That they included.
[00:28:55] I think is still going on.
[00:28:57] To this day.
[00:28:58] Yeah.
[00:28:58] It fades to black.
[00:28:59] And then it's like.
[00:29:00] Burn it.
[00:29:00] Burn it.
[00:29:02] Burn it.
[00:29:02] Burn it.
[00:29:05] Burn it.
[00:29:05] Burn it.
[00:29:06] Burn it.
[00:29:07] Burn it.
[00:29:07] Burn it.
[00:29:08] Burn it.
[00:29:09] And it just kept going.
[00:29:10] I may.
[00:29:11] I may.
[00:29:11] Webster sound.
[00:29:12] I may have exaggerated slightly.
[00:29:14] But it felt like it was really long.
[00:29:17] You know this guy.
[00:29:19] I understand he had a.
[00:29:21] A conscience.
[00:29:22] That he wanted cleared after 20 years.
[00:29:26] That was a middle of the set situation.
[00:29:29] You don't start the show.
[00:29:31] 100%.
[00:29:31] For sure.
[00:29:32] Walk on stage.
[00:29:32] Bringing it down.
[00:29:33] And go.
[00:29:34] Hey.
[00:29:34] I got this.
[00:29:36] Kick everyone.
[00:29:36] They want to see the band.
[00:29:38] You let them do the thing.
[00:29:39] And then you say.
[00:29:39] You know what guys.
[00:29:40] Can I have a minute.
[00:29:41] You know we've played a couple of hits here.
[00:29:43] We've done some things that people want.
[00:29:44] I've got something I want to get off my chest.
[00:29:46] That's right.
[00:29:47] Maybe all this would have.
[00:29:48] Maybe.
[00:29:49] Maybe Jax would have realized he'd done goofed.
[00:29:51] He wants to.
[00:29:52] He's like.
[00:29:52] Oh you know what.
[00:29:52] This is actually pretty fun.
[00:29:53] This is good for my soul.
[00:29:54] Yeah.
[00:29:54] If only he would have just.
[00:29:56] Given it a minute.
[00:29:57] Let it breathe everybody.
[00:29:58] Everybody.
[00:29:58] He killed himself in a sense.
[00:30:00] If you think about it that way.
[00:30:02] For sure.
[00:30:03] So the guy.
[00:30:05] Tom's partner that he sends to go and get Goldie in for questioning.
[00:30:10] Knocks on the door.
[00:30:11] And Goldie's like.
[00:30:11] Oh hey.
[00:30:12] Come on in.
[00:30:12] Get coffee.
[00:30:13] And he's like.
[00:30:14] Actually.
[00:30:15] We're going to go down to the station.
[00:30:19] Come along with me.
[00:30:20] And she's like.
[00:30:21] For what?
[00:30:22] Come on.
[00:30:22] Take a ride with me.
[00:30:22] And he's like.
[00:30:23] And he's like.
[00:30:25] I'll explain it to you on the way.
[00:30:26] Don't you have to like.
[00:30:29] Tell someone up front.
[00:30:30] If you're going to bring them in for questioning.
[00:30:32] Like you can't just be like.
[00:30:33] Well hey.
[00:30:34] That's a fun plan.
[00:30:35] Come on in.
[00:30:36] Get in the back of my cruiser.
[00:30:38] We're going to go for a ride.
[00:30:39] Watch your head.
[00:30:40] Maybe we'll go downtown.
[00:30:41] I'll give you all the deets.
[00:30:42] Once you get into the car.
[00:30:44] And you can't get out.
[00:30:44] Because it's child lock.
[00:30:45] And there's bars on it.
[00:30:47] Don't say anything.
[00:30:49] Don't say anything.
[00:30:50] You don't have to.
[00:30:50] If you don't want to.
[00:30:53] Jax is talking to.
[00:30:54] What's her name?
[00:30:55] Marla.
[00:30:56] Marla.
[00:30:57] Marla.
[00:30:57] Marla and me.
[00:30:58] He's like.
[00:30:59] Man.
[00:30:59] You should read some of the fan theories out there.
[00:31:01] It's crazy.
[00:31:02] You know.
[00:31:02] All this stuff.
[00:31:03] And she's like.
[00:31:03] I'm really sorry.
[00:31:04] You have to read all that.
[00:31:06] He doesn't have to read.
[00:31:08] That's true.
[00:31:08] Certainly doesn't.
[00:31:09] He is seeking it out.
[00:31:11] So don't feel sorry.
[00:31:12] Sorry for the guy.
[00:31:13] He has wandered onto the web.
[00:31:16] Gone.
[00:31:17] He sought it out.
[00:31:18] He sought it out.
[00:31:19] I'm sorry.
[00:31:19] I'm so sorry that you had to contractually read all that stuff.
[00:31:24] You know.
[00:31:24] You have to.
[00:31:25] Last but not least.
[00:31:27] Andrew Walker.
[00:31:28] Love him so much.
[00:31:30] At one point.
[00:31:31] He asked for a second pastry.
[00:31:34] As if.
[00:31:35] Not on your life, bro.
[00:31:36] Andrew Walker's never asked for a second pastry in his life.
[00:31:41] No.
[00:31:41] No.
[00:31:42] In his life.
[00:31:44] But to show you how good of an actor he is, I believed him for a split second.
[00:31:48] And then I remembered.
[00:31:48] Hold on a second.
[00:31:49] I know this guy.
[00:31:50] He wouldn't.
[00:31:51] He wouldn't.
[00:31:52] He gotcha.
[00:31:52] Got him.
[00:31:53] Dano.
[00:31:54] Yeah.
[00:31:55] In the background of Andrew Walker's office is a flag.
[00:31:59] American flag.
[00:32:00] Folded in a triangle that they give.
[00:32:02] This land is your land.
[00:32:04] This land is my land.
[00:32:06] Wrong show.
[00:32:07] Wrong show.
[00:32:08] Believe it or not.
[00:32:08] That they give to the family of deceased members of the armed services.
[00:32:14] Good thing I did it before you said that.
[00:32:16] I am not.
[00:32:16] I'm glad I'm bringing up this white walk.
[00:32:18] I think some people get even angrier.
[00:32:20] Get angry about it.
[00:32:22] I wasn't angry.
[00:32:23] If you're going to have that, it needs to be folded properly.
[00:32:28] Do a quick Google search and you'll see that the triangle only shows the blue with the white stars on it.
[00:32:36] That one is like ruffled and it's got some red peeking through.
[00:32:40] I know it's a Canadian movie.
[00:32:42] Just not a great look, guys.
[00:32:44] Like fold the thing properly.
[00:32:46] YouTube it.
[00:32:47] I don't know.
[00:32:48] Like not a tough thing to really like get right.
[00:32:53] You need to get it right.
[00:32:54] Just saying.
[00:32:55] Not saying.
[00:32:57] What's this killer's plan?
[00:32:59] Yeah.
[00:33:00] He is very adept at shuffling around knife to neck on this girl.
[00:33:06] What's his long term plan?
[00:33:07] I'm going to get out this door.
[00:33:10] Then I'm going to do what?
[00:33:12] I don't understand.
[00:33:13] Man, I don't understand why he didn't leave.
[00:33:16] He even locked the door.
[00:33:18] Like he locks the door.
[00:33:19] Just go anywhere else.
[00:33:21] No plan.
[00:33:23] None.
[00:33:23] None whatsoever.
[00:33:25] It's absurd.
[00:33:27] It's crazy.
[00:33:28] Well, I think what he was going to do is get out of there.
[00:33:30] Really take a look at his 401k.
[00:33:32] Like really buckle down on that.
[00:33:33] He's really going to get stuff.
[00:33:35] He's going to organize those boxes.
[00:33:36] And also, while he's got knife to neck, Nikki keeps singing and it keeps agitating him further.
[00:33:43] And like, Nikki, do you want her to die?
[00:33:48] She's like, this is my chance.
[00:33:49] And he's like, he's like twitching.
[00:33:51] Like, stop it.
[00:33:52] Stop singing.
[00:33:53] If you keep singing, he's going to slit her neck.
[00:33:55] Like, you've got to stop singing, lady.
[00:33:58] Please stop now.
[00:33:59] You're going to be a good killer.
[00:34:02] She got the bug at the karaoke vigil.
[00:34:04] She did.
[00:34:04] She can do candlelight.
[00:34:05] She has some experience singing.
[00:34:09] A little bit.
[00:34:09] Great to hear her voice again.
[00:34:11] Yeah, for sure.
[00:34:12] They get the pictures off this woman's phone and there's a steering wheel of a car.
[00:34:16] And in the middle of that steering wheel, there is no car brand.
[00:34:19] And it's like, if you're going to have a close-up of a steering wheel.
[00:34:23] Just pick a car.
[00:34:24] Yeah.
[00:34:24] I think she actually edited it out.
[00:34:26] She blacked it out on her phone, of course.
[00:34:29] Oh, sure.
[00:34:29] And lastly, the only thing more ridiculous than Andrew asking for a second pastry is him confusing basil and mint.
[00:34:37] Two things that you just would never.
[00:34:39] However, I'm not.
[00:34:41] I don't cook.
[00:34:43] Basil and mint.
[00:34:44] Guys, one of those you throw on the top of a pizza.
[00:34:46] The other one is mint.
[00:34:48] Oh.
[00:34:50] I just don't know what, like, no.
[00:34:52] They should definitely enter like a, what was it, like taboo, that game where you have to give a one-word clue and the other person has to guess it or whatever.
[00:35:00] Because I don't know how you got mint from basil, but they'd win the championship.
[00:35:05] Absolutely.
[00:35:05] There's definitely no way on the mint taboo card it doesn't say basil.
[00:35:09] Basil's in the clear.
[00:35:11] Basil's in the clear.
[00:35:11] Because it's not related.
[00:35:12] Basil's in the clear.
[00:35:13] Basil's in the clear.
[00:35:14] Basil's in the clear.
[00:35:14] Basil's in the clear.
[00:35:14] Basil didn't do nothing.
[00:35:15] That's right.
[00:35:16] Let's get to the what the hallmarks were.
[00:35:17] We wonder what could have been.
[00:35:18] Maybe have to be some clarity.
[00:35:19] Any questions that we still have?
[00:35:20] What are we still wondering about?
[00:35:20] Let's find out.
[00:35:21] What do you think?
[00:35:22] Well, the sound guy slash electrician who worked for the band.
[00:35:27] I was really confused about his role and just the general role of a sound slash electrical person.
[00:35:35] And so my big question was, do you have to be like a master electrician to work at a venue or for a band?
[00:35:42] And luckily, one of our double deckers, Amy Gills Benson's husband, is a sound engineer, a monitor engineer, actually.
[00:35:49] I mean, come on.
[00:35:49] Send her a message.
[00:35:50] I said, Amy.
[00:35:51] Send her a contact?
[00:35:52] Yeah.
[00:35:52] Send her a contact.
[00:35:54] I said, watch this whole movie.
[00:35:55] Then ask your husband if this is what goes on.
[00:35:58] And obviously, it's not what goes on.
[00:35:59] But basically, a house, a venue would normally have access to a master electrician.
[00:36:05] But there'd be a lot more going.
[00:36:07] He had a lot of thoughts on this.
[00:36:10] But basically, it just didn't make any sense.
[00:36:12] Like, why the heck is this guy playing?
[00:36:13] I guess you just put everybody into one, every role into one person.
[00:36:17] Yeah.
[00:36:17] But very confusing from, I spent a lot of time thinking about it while I was watching the movie.
[00:36:22] Like, why not just have a couple extra people plugging stuff in?
[00:36:25] Like, why are we making this guy do everything?
[00:36:28] Just very distracting.
[00:36:29] Similar minus to that.
[00:36:31] But it is, why this venue?
[00:36:34] Yeah.
[00:36:34] Why, you know, the size is what I like.
[00:36:37] If they want to have an intimate reunion, whatever.
[00:36:39] I think that's weird, but good for them.
[00:36:40] You know, a lot of money is to be made.
[00:36:42] Mine's very shell.
[00:36:43] On bigger.
[00:36:44] Yeah.
[00:36:44] But this is clearly not a venue that is made for bands.
[00:36:50] Yeah.
[00:36:50] No.
[00:36:51] Not for this.
[00:36:51] The guy, electrician, is like, everything's back.
[00:36:54] We got to run everything out to a generator.
[00:36:56] We got to do all this stuff because this building is just not made for this.
[00:36:59] Mm-hmm.
[00:37:00] Mm-hmm.
[00:37:00] Why are they doing it there?
[00:37:02] Good question.
[00:37:03] Why are they doing it at this venue?
[00:37:06] Was it only so that we could get an electrician suspect?
[00:37:11] Mm-hmm.
[00:37:12] Because if that's the only, like, I can't think of a reason why they would have it at this venue.
[00:37:16] Even at a really nice venue, you could do this.
[00:37:18] Sure.
[00:37:18] You know?
[00:37:19] Yeah.
[00:37:20] It's like one thing went out.
[00:37:21] Yeah.
[00:37:21] And you have to unplug it into another plug or something.
[00:37:23] Like, you could still do it.
[00:37:24] So I don't understand why this venue, unless this venue had some sort of special memories
[00:37:32] for the band.
[00:37:32] Yeah.
[00:37:33] Like, this is where they had their first, and maybe they said that, but maybe this is where
[00:37:36] they had their first show or something and they wanted to have their reunion show there.
[00:37:39] That would maybe make sense.
[00:37:41] But if this was just, hey, we got a place, you can't plug anything in.
[00:37:46] Any band would go, we got to find somewhere else.
[00:37:49] 100%.
[00:37:49] So I was very confused as to what the purpose of this venue and why they chose it.
[00:37:54] Dano?
[00:37:54] Yeah, I'm with you.
[00:37:55] I just want to know how big this band is slash was.
[00:37:58] Yeah.
[00:37:58] I mean, I know that's kind of an easy one, but they had the biggest album of the year
[00:38:03] 20 years ago.
[00:38:03] So not a one-hit wonder.
[00:38:05] Biggest album of the year.
[00:38:06] Yeah.
[00:38:07] I looked 20 years ago, the biggest album of the year was songs about Jane, Maroon 5.
[00:38:11] They had a number one album.
[00:38:12] Every song was a hit on it.
[00:38:14] Like, you're pretty famous forever on that deal, and this seems like a very intimate
[00:38:19] exclusive thing in a weird venue.
[00:38:22] I just need to know, like, can these people walk the street?
[00:38:24] Like, what are we talking about here?
[00:38:26] It didn't seem very clear in that regard.
[00:38:28] So that was mine.
[00:38:29] That's it.
[00:38:30] Yep.
[00:38:30] That's it, Bram.
[00:38:31] We did it, everybody.
[00:38:32] Congratulations.
[00:38:32] No more new non-Christmas movies.
[00:38:36] We're done with it.
[00:38:37] Marathon.
[00:38:38] Preview.
[00:38:39] Kickoff.
[00:38:39] Marathon.
[00:38:40] Let's go.
[00:38:40] Christmas.
[00:38:41] You are doing groomsmen.
[00:38:43] We are, yes.
[00:38:44] We are doing groomsmen.
[00:38:45] Grimsman is an exception.
[00:38:46] But that's after.
[00:38:46] It doesn't count.
[00:38:47] You're right, though.
[00:38:48] That is true.
[00:38:49] Thank you, Aaron.
[00:38:50] Yes, for those that were wondering, we are going to be doing the groomsmen movies.
[00:38:53] We're also going to be finishing Chicken Sisters.
[00:38:55] That bleeds into Christmas as well.
[00:38:58] So more non-Christmas.
[00:39:00] That's right.
[00:39:00] Come your way.
[00:39:00] Everything we said.
[00:39:01] Take it back.
[00:39:02] All October long.
[00:39:04] Maybe even into November.
[00:39:06] We'll be back tomorrow with our second of two preview shows.
[00:39:11] The whole gang will be here.
[00:39:12] It'll be a lot of fun.
[00:39:14] And even though they're probably going to be in town already, I think we'll keep it virtual
[00:39:17] just for the sake of...
[00:39:18] Just for the sake of it.
[00:39:19] Yeah, just for the sake of it.
[00:39:20] Let's keep it.
[00:39:21] Just be on the safe side.
[00:39:21] We don't want it.
[00:39:22] We can't.
[00:39:22] With all the jackets, we can't fit everybody in here.
[00:39:25] No, we don't want to.
[00:39:26] So we wouldn't be able to.
[00:39:26] The rafters, they're filled.
[00:39:28] Of course, yeah.
[00:39:28] Until then, we're the first to wish you a Merry Christmas.
