[00:02:08] I like Deadpool But I I had seen the first Deadpool films And enjoyed them both I don't know if I've ever rewatched either of them That's maybe something that I should do But I'll save maybe one of the reasons why I haven't For the hot take But yeah, I'm more Wolverine I'm specifically more Hugh Jackman Wolverine However, I have come to really dive in on X-Men 97 I think that's Oh, okay I was about to say What's the other option? But it's animated Yeah Like, I'm a huge X-Men guy Like, X-Men's one of my favorite properties Now, they're not all good movies

[00:02:38] I think that there's There's a pretty big spectrum of what you get quality-wise In X-Men movies But Hugh Jackman's amazing My favorite property is probably 1816 East North East North, that's a great property I know That's two acres, dude Two acres I know, which is crazy in downtown Green Bay I know Skylight Skylight They got the skylight They got the skylight Yeah So, obviously I had to do that Raga, how are you? [00:05:39] But I'm intrigued I tried a foldable phone Once for a couple days And I just didn't like it But that was early on And when foldables came out I think I love the idea Of foldables Exactly But in practice It's not nearly as cool As it is in principle Like how many times Are you using Three different screens Or like The one big screen The seven and a half inch screen That is the one If I was flying all the time I'd be like Dude this is a perfect thing I don't have to bring a tablet Because I bring a tablet Just to watch movies on the phone On the tablet

[00:06:08] So I don't have to watch it on my phone Having a seven and a half Eight inch screen On an airplane Would be amazing Right Okay But if you travel all the time You probably have a setup That you really like I just I just don't see Everyone raves When these things come out Have you seen it And then I never see them I never see anyone And the sales You know The Samsung foldable phones Don't sell nearly as well As their Galaxy phones Do It is a specialty product Do Yeah Nice Nice

Deadpool Used a time travel device To go back in time And prevent the death Of his girlfriend Vanessa He eventually makes his way To the sacred timeline Hoping to join the Avengers Unfortunately for Wade Happy Hogan turns him down And so he has to head back To his own universe And six years later Things aren't exactly going Great for him Wade and Vanessa Have broken up He's retired the Deadpool suit He's now working At a used car lot With his best friend Peter

[00:08:36] During a birthday party Wade is suddenly taken By the Time Variance Authority The TVA if you will Something that obviously Needs to exist now Because everybody's going All willy nilly with time And so they're brought Before He's brought before Someone named Mr. Paradox What a name brother Paradox explains That the TVA exists Outside of time And monitors the sacred timeline And the larger multiverse Finally We've been asking for this Thank goodness He offers Wade a chance

[00:09:05] To leave his universe behind And become a part Of the sacred timeline But there's a catch Wade's universe Is slowly dying Because it's an anchor It's anchor being Logan is dead It's bad news huh Paradox Plans to speed up the process With a device called The Time Ripper That was my wrestling name Actually Yeah It was a good name It was Jesse and the Ripper Jesse and the Time Rippers That's right Jesse and the Time Rippers Wade isn't exactly Thrilled by this plan Because he's not fond Of his universe Just going away

[00:09:35] But So he steals Paradox's device That allows him to travel To Logan's grave Hoping that he can Figure out a way To bring him back to life Evanescence style Wake me up Wake me up When that doesn't work Wade starts jumping across Multiverse The multiverse Looking for different versions Of Logan A.K.A. Wolverine Who can take His Logan's place In the universe And hopefully Save it Eventually Wade brings

[00:10:05] One back To the TVA But Paradox Is not impressed This Logan Is apparently The worst Logan The worst Wolverine In the entire Multiverse And Paradox Explains that An anchor being Simply can't be replaced It's not like It's not a one to one Wade also realizes That Paradox Is doing all of this Without the approval Of his bosses So Paradox Sends Wade and Logan Into the void Wade convinces Logan That the TVA Might be able To change the past Giving the two of them Reason to work together

[00:10:34] And escape the void Instead they're captured Alongside Johnny Storm Who I gotta be honest With you Looks a whole lot Like Captain America And is brought before Cassandra Nova Who is powerful And extremely unhinged Twin sister Of Charles Xavier Cassandra has made a deal With the TVA To rule the voice And she quickly proves That she's not someone That Wade wants to mess with She can put her hand Through your skull Okay

[00:11:04] She kills Johnny And leaves Wade And Logan to be eaten By a giant smoke creature But the two manage To escape After meeting a couple Of Deadpool variants Including nice pool And dog pool Wade and Logan Are pointed towards A resistant group Fighting against Cassandra They find this group And Deadpool proposes An alliance Where they attack Cassandra together They fight real good But Cassandra Ultimately heals herself And sends Wade and Logan

[00:11:34] Back to Earth Cassandra learns About the Time Ripper And now wants to use it To destroy every timeline And leave nothing behind Except for the Void Because she's the bad guy In a Marvel movie And you've got to try To destroy the entire universe More than one universe Yeah All the universes Yeah Paradox finally reveals That the Time Ripper Can be destroyed But doing so Requires one person To disrupt the power source And sacrifice themselves

[00:12:03] In the process Wade and Logan Refuse to let Each other Do the sacrifice And so they decide They're going to do it together Well the two of them Manage to destroy The Time Ripper Killing Cassandra In the process And they survive Via the power of friendship Paradox is arrested And Deadpool's Earth Is saved Logan is allowed to stay Is at Wade in Wade's universe Wade is reunited With his friends And Logan encourages Wade

[00:13:01] I feel like that No it was a lot Just egregious I don't think you can say That word And you know what I'd do with that If I had a chance What would you do I'd be And then While After I know right That's tough Let's talk about this movie Let's start with a hot take I'm sorry to share exactly How we felt About this filthy R-rated Marvel movie I'll start with you

[00:13:31] Rye Guy Yeah like any Self-referential film The jokes and references Are of its time It's made And will age a little worse The further We get from it Because you know This is like Scary movie too If you watch now Yikes If you weren't Born then Or 10 or 20 years old Then It doesn't work It's a different language Thankfully This movie was only Made a few years ago And we're watching All of these Marvel movies So I feel like For us This is right in our Breadbasket In terms of being able

[00:14:01] To talk about it Like of its time Relatively speaking Still I saw this movie In theaters twice Loved it both times Haven't seen it since I still really Really like it I have this 10th overall Right now I'm sure It's not everyone's Cup of tea That totally makes sense And admittedly It takes a lot Of setup To get Wolverine Here And this plot Put together

[00:14:31] And this The movie Loses points Even though It mocks itself For how convoluted The plot is It's like You don't You don't get to Just make fun of yourself And then Still be like Oh the plot Doesn't make a ton of sense Like so I'm admitting that Like but I don't know I think everyone knew Coming in that You know Logan was a great Capper to You know Hugh Jackman's X-Men store So we thought And the Deadpool movies Were obviously

[00:15:00] Never intended To be in the MCU Proper when they Came out with 20th Century Fox The whole film Is morning 20th Century Fox Basically which is An odd choice But kind of fun In and of itself But I just gotta be honest Once Hugh Jackman Shows up I'm all the way in And I don't Dislike the first Approximately 30 minutes of the movie Before he does But I'm admitting That it's A journey To get us To the actual plot Of the film But

[00:15:29] To the point of 20th Century Fox All that stuff works for me Like Flame On In theaters for me From Chris Evans Was a huge reaction Didn't see it coming I didn't see it coming Yeah I haven't even seen Blade and Elektra But I was so Obviously I was familiar I was just like So like You know In the moment I was like This is awesome Gambit We'll talk more About him later But I like I like Shane Tatum And I liked him In this film All that stuff Works for me The jokes

[00:15:59] By and large Work for me Unsurprisingly They're great friends Ryan Reynolds And Hugh Jackman Have great chemistry Hugh Jackman In the midst Of this very vulgar Silly Raunchy film At times Is just like Bleep it I'm gonna go for it And give a great Performance anyway As he often does It's very It's very Enjoyable Absurd Absurdity With some great Action set pieces Tenth overall Bran I really really like it Although I would not Be upset

[00:16:28] Or I would totally Understand If someone is like This doesn't work This isn't the MCU I wouldn't be upset If someone said This is even less MCU Than for example The Marvels Or Thor Love and Thunder It is very much Its own thing Although it does Attempt to Broach into The larger story Which a lot of The last couple Films we have Like Guardians 3 Hasn't even bothered But yeah For me Tenth overall I really really Like it Bran So I was Concerned When I went To go see This movie

[00:16:58] In the theaters Because I had Not seen Any Deadpool Movie I was going Because it looked Like a fun time And I also Wasn't a big You didn't see The other two Deadpool No Never seen I still haven't Wow Probably never will They are fun You should watch them The first Deadpool Is an absolute Triumph Of a movie Like I don't know How else to say Like from start To finish What that movie Does and how It does it Is pitch perfect Yeah It's amazing Great Yeah

[00:17:27] But I'm also And you know This about me Dan I've been low On Ryan Reynolds For a long time I don't I genuinely Generally Don't find him To be funny He's one note He knows who he is And so I was I went into This movie Apprehensive Apprehensive And ready To not really like it And I ended up Loving this movie Oh wow Cool I think that It's so much fun It's so funny Hugh Jackman

[00:17:56] Is so funny As the Grumpy straight man In this movie It's just the best And yeah There's so much Just fun Little things And elements That pop up And even if you Don't get all of them You're like The ones that you do Get are really fun And it is clear With this movie That a lot of Time and love Went into this movie And so I really appreciate This movie I think it's really fun

[00:18:25] It is really hard Impossible To know what to do With this movie And so Even though I love this movie And Whatever What year did it come out What did I say 2023 It was like One of my favorite Movies of that year I just thought I had so much fun I can go back And look But There are To me There are like A good Hand Handfuls Of Marvel movies That are Too important

[00:18:54] For me to put This movie Ahead of it So I kind of Found where I think The breaking Point there is Of movies That I Both don't Like as much And also I maybe don't Think are as Important to the Overall Marvel Cinematic universe So I have this movie Coming in at 18 Is where I Oh wow Yeah I have this movie At 18 Real quick Brent I did the same Thing you did But like I would never Put it ahead Of Guardians 1 Or Iron Man I have it

[00:19:24] One behind Ragnarok But it's interesting That your barometer For that Is lower than mine But you have The Avengers So low And his point Is not quality It's importance So like For I try to But I'm sure You do it too But I try to Put all of those Things into a bucket And see where it Lands I don't think I do it The same For all of them Even It's tough No I think That's fair To do that Week after week But Totally And the only Other thing I would say You're right About that Dan It's a fair point But like Just 10 times Out of 10 Just like I would

[00:19:53] Never watch The Avengers Over Deadpool And Wolverine So that is If it's my hot take I think that's The rub of this movie Is If we're playing A game Where we're ranking Movies based On watchability Are you kidding me Right Like this movie Has to be a top 10 Marvel movie If our rankings Are just Watchability On a random Saturday afternoon And you throw One of these movies On This movie is Just so Incredibly watchable Right If that's the measure Then I'm with you

[00:20:23] I don't think That's the measure But if that's your measure Then I'm 100% With you This movie Is hysterical It is so funny It is packed With jokes To the brim It is incredibly Impressively Self-deprecating And self-referential And also a love letter To a bunch of Forgotten properties That either Never got their due Or never got the time And care they deserve To make a good movie And also giving Channing Tatum Like his dream Of getting to play Gambit Like

[00:20:53] A lot of care Went into making this movie It's very Very Very funny The one-liners Outstanding It's not as good As the first Deadpool Like Guys Go back and watch The first Deadpool I know that you think I'm crazy It is not Obviously You know Your mileage may vary If you don't like Inappropriate humor Which this movie Embraces wholeheartedly But the first Deadpool As a satire Of superhero movies As a movie That stands alone

[00:21:47] With real stakes They are all Trying to chip in To something bigger This movie fails On all accounts In that regard And I think even You would agree With that Ryan Like This movie Don't try to make me care Okay Like the first Deadpool Does a good job Of setting up Wade as a normal individual His girlfriend dies And he becomes This vigilante Who really doesn't Give an F Right So then All of that satire Is allowed And appropriate

[00:22:16] And actually earned This movie At one point Ryan Reynolds Calls As Deadpool Calls Wolverine Hugh Like calls him The name Hugh Really funny Right Don't tell me to care All right If you want to be This movie Which I'm thrilled For you to be And I have a blast Watching From start to finish With gossip girl jokes And Blake lively jokes And Hugh Jackman Divorced jokes This guy was with

[00:22:46] The same woman For 20 some years Ryan Reynolds Making jokes There are jokes About Disney Not letting them Talk about cocaine In this movie There's so many Fun Take you out Of a movie Jokes in this movie That I am not Mad at it at all And it's actually My preferred humor If I'm being honest I'm so jealous At how funny And quick this movie is Like it's one of these movies That makes me laugh So much That I'm jealous But do not Then try to make me Believe

[00:23:15] That you matter In the grand scheme Of things You can't do that Right So this movie Ceiling Is a 6 of 10 It just is But it's a 10 of 10 6 of 10 Right It is a movie That If you know What it's doing No one could have Done it better And as an Entertainment value And as an Entertainment property For adults With this sense of humor I can't imagine You having a better Time over 2 hours A point that even

[00:23:45] Ryan Reynolds Turns to the camera As Deadpool To be like I'm sorry That the movie Is so long Right But do not Spoof Every They literally Spoof everything Everything Is a spoof The event They make fun Of how the Avengers Have gone off track That they don't Know how to Multiverse They make fun Of the Fox Properties They make fun Of Wolverine They make fun Of Ryan Reynolds And Hugh Jackman Do not then Try to convince me That this bad guy That's trying to Destroy every universe Matters

[00:24:14] It doesn't So Like That makes this Really tough Because for instance Guardians 2 Guardians 3 Those movies Are not good In my opinion They're actively Not good They both Are trying To say Something bigger They both Have things To noodle On in your Head About Your life And about What it means To treat People well And what it Means To what an Ego is Like These are Things that James Gunn's Trying to do Are they imperfect Yeah Are they sometimes Outright bad Yeah But do they Have something

[00:24:44] Bigger on their Mind Absolutely They do This movie Is better than That Because those Movies suck But if a Movie is trying Something like That and is Also Decent to Average But is Trying something Bigger For the Sake of This exercise That is how I tried to Rank this Movie Is this Is the Best movie In the MCU That doesn't Matter Right Would anybody Disagree with That statement This is the

[00:25:13] Best movie In the MCU That doesn't Matter at All Yeah And so That's how I rank this Movie Is of the MCU movies That don't Matter This is One of One But of The MCU Movies as A whole I have It 16 16 out Of 34 Which is Right ahead Of Shang-Chi Which is a Movie that is Incredibly Entertaining But we're Not going to Really see That universe Anymore And doesn't Really matter In the grand Scheme of Things This movie This movie Better Than that Movie I have It one Behind Iron Man 3

[00:27:47] A perfect Way to Introduce Anyone Who's not Familiar With Deadpool To what Deadpool Is all About Perfect Yeah The music's Great I also As a Unabashed Lover Of The Greatest Showman The fact That when They're Doing I wanted More of it When they're Doing a little Fight scene In the car And the music's Changing on the radio And it goes to Come alive for a second Really like that What I love about The Greatest Showman That more musicals Should do Every number Is a show stop Stop it

[00:28:46] Blade Trinity came out Which features Ryan Reynolds I don't know if you guys know That he was in a Blade movie Like Historically he and Wesley Snipes Did not get along In that movie In fact Wesley Snipes From some of the stories Wouldn't come out of his trailer Left them sitting For days on end Waiting to film scenes It was not a good time Wesley Snipes was not in a good place So first of all For them to mend fences For the sake of him Bringing Blade back

[00:29:15] And honoring Wesley Snipes Amazing Amazing by Ryan Reynolds To go You know what He wasn't a good guy back then I think he's changed now And he didn't get the send off He deserved What if we do this for him That's awesome Also When I was in college Blade Trinity came out And we did In our It wasn't my dorm We all lived in a house There were three of us But we invited a bunch of guys over And we did Can't have money We did the Yeah of course We did the Blade-a-thon Where we watched all the blood We watched the first two And went to the theater For the third one As you should have And the second Blade movie

[00:29:43] Has maybe the most iconic Action movie line of all time in it And I can't say it on this program But he Right before he finally kills the big bad He says Some MFers always are trying to Ice skate uphill Which is I've heard that before Such a crazy line But I'm just telling you If you're in college And you're watching that movie We rewound it The DVD Right I'm old Over and over again Laughing hysterically As Blade

[00:31:39] Their own multiverse since I mean they just released A movie That is At least Like the Marvels Is at least multiverse Like tangentially related Like they are still Especially by the end Yeah They're still actively Doing the thing That they're saying sucks In this movie Yeah And hasn't I thought there was a version Of this movie Where Like maybe like In the first 30 seconds This would be tough Because you couldn't Bring Jonathan Majors in But I was like Oh wow

[00:34:06] Throw an extra 50 grand At the bald cap Hey no cap brother No cap I mean I will say this They never say Casanova Once in this movie Which I feel like Was a real Missed opportunity But Cassandra Nova I looked her up In the comics She is crazy Sinister in the comics Like it almost feels Like a missed opportunity For this character For an X-Men movie Because she is like Like it's a dark I don't even want to go Into her origin story Here it's so dark Like it is a dark Or a Can you believe that?
