[00:05:33] She starts off the movie baking like it's a it's very intense baking that she's doing and you think oh, she's a baker

[00:05:39] She she's like I got a bakery or cookie shop. They look good the cooks the cookies look good

[00:05:45] She was she was going in on detail on icing and everything like this

[00:05:50] I'm I like did not read this synopsis and I was like, oh well baking movie great

[00:05:54] I had nothing to do with the movie. She just was baking for

[00:05:58] Good at that stuff. Yeah

[00:06:00] She's to be a good with the movie nothing to do with her talent nothing to do with the

[00:06:06] Anything it doesn't even come back. Wow. There you have it. I

[00:06:10] Guess Terry just wanted to bake so

[00:07:17] It might be a little too intense there. I was alone in the theater and I felt very uncomfortable

[00:07:24] Be just being there watching it. I was like, am I allowed to watch this in public?

[00:07:28] This the director that did promising young woman, which is also it's a great movie

[00:07:33] But a really tough watch in some moments

[00:07:36] Exactly so that's that's I would summarize the the guy that plays George is the bandits turned a mercantile worker in when calls the heart

[00:07:44] Maybe that's what it was. It was immediate. It was an immediate turnoff

[00:07:48] But immediate but 50 year old hottie Dan pain is in this movie. What's what's funny pain is yeah, dude

[00:07:55] Yeah, I can't believe he's in his fifties. He's amazing. He's amazing in this movie

[00:07:59] I will say a wink goes to heart. He's the hot burglar hot burglar. That's right

[00:08:04] He looks like Miguel from Cobra Kai

[00:08:08] Like Blue Beetle, yeah, I love I love the hair. I love the hair. I'm having hair and V

[00:08:15] anyways, he's very hip son. He's got great hair and he

[00:08:20] Tells his mom. He's like oh you should really be like on social media more like you need to like have a

[00:08:26] Present and she's like ha ha ha. He records your baking. She's like ooh look at me baking. Oh, how fun am I and

[00:08:33] I guess it like goes it doesn't necessarily go viral

[00:08:37] But I guess she gets some type of following where she's gonna become an influencer

[00:08:41] but she also has like she is

[00:08:45] She was famous at one time, right? Like yeah, I think TV personality of sorts like a Katie correct

[00:08:52] Who's kind of like faded away and as now like her her son is like you should become you should get on the social media

[00:08:59] You could kind of keep your career going do a little influencing and she takes that

[00:09:05] to heart

[00:09:07] Imagine Katie Kirk

[00:09:13] So she she's like okay, this is great

[00:09:16] He also invites her to Aspen because his dad they're divorced is taking him and

[00:09:22] Terry Hatcher does not get her son for Christmas

[00:09:24] Um

[00:09:26] If she's like I don't know I don't really want to spend time with your dad. I don't really like him

[00:09:30] Can you imagine a world where Terry Hatcher doesn't get her son for Christmas? It's Terry Hatcher?

[00:09:34] I mean Terry Hatcher is whatever she wants. She sure does

[00:09:38] Lois Lane people, you know what she doesn't get for Christmas a boyfriend because her boyfriend dumps her

[00:09:45] Peter and I thought Peter was important so I wrote down his name

[00:09:48] He doesn't come back or show up at any time

[00:09:52] He breaks up with with a bouquet of flowers, which I must say is very thoughtful and the note

[00:09:58] Is like you know, sorry. I'm breaking up with you

[00:10:01] but here's some flowers and

[00:10:02] That is the best way to break up with somebody nothing says our love is dead like flowers that will live slightly longer

[00:10:10] And then they'll die as well

[00:10:13] Flowers at least you have flowers out of the gig for just like you know a little bit

[00:10:17] Now I'm out of it. Not mad at it. So Terry's like what's your flower of choice Patrick? I

[00:10:26] Like the baby's breath. I like can we talk about how dumb flower names are like

[00:11:01] She she must have put the flowers like in a vase and then decided that she was gonna go to Aspen and she

[00:11:09] Shows up in this like really cute ski outfit. She's looking

[00:11:12] Amazing and she's leaving the airport. She tries to bum a ride from this handsome man. This guy was handsome and

[00:11:19] His name is Eric Tremblay and he's like, sorry. I can't give you a ride. I have all these boxes of wine

[00:11:26] I'm a wine guy or something. We don't really know

[00:11:30] Guy or so look at this guy. He's like he's a guy who's kind of just like he looks a little bit like the

[00:11:36] Dude in succession in that picture. Yeah

[00:11:39] Oh

[00:11:40] Yeah, yeah, he's very he's a very calm presence. I will say

[00:11:45] Yeah, he has a ton of wine though and and he's like wait

[00:11:49] Are you a guest at blah blah blah chalet? And she's like yes, I am and he's like never mind

[00:11:55] You can take the cab. I'll just carry these boxes and walk the 10 miles myself and she gets the cab

[00:12:01] She's like thank you kind sir and leaves him

[00:12:04] And she gets to the hotel and there's like a straight-up child

[00:12:09] Greeting her at the desk and I'm like, oh no. Is this a cute kid movie?

[00:12:14] The kids like I can't find your reservation. I don't know what to do. I'm a kid

[00:12:19] Hey, Terry's like like okay. Yeah, I should probably speak to an adult

[00:12:25] And the guy shows up with the wine. He's the kid's uncle and

[00:12:30] The they find out that they're fully booked he owns the chalet

[00:12:33] He he didn't give her the ride because or he gave her the ride cuz he found out she was a customer so

[00:12:40] Yeah, it's just weird though, right like if you know that yeah

[00:12:44] You only have a little girl running the front desk. Don't what not like make you feel like you I need to get back

[00:12:49] I need to beat her. I need to get there before she does

[00:12:53] Yeah, I left this seven-year-old in charge. I mean, she's great. This is she's she's

[00:12:59] This seven-year-old is

[00:13:01] Quality and she's able to do the job. She's the best of her ability, but there's nothing else she could have done

[00:13:06] Cuz she's not the owner he is he is should have been gave his cab

[00:13:10] To someone at the show so he can't know well

[00:13:14] She would check in with the little girl. It'd be a big funny. Yeah. Oh

[00:13:19] Yeah, I think he was kind of messing with her a little bit

[00:13:21] But basically they're like literally we have no rooms

[00:13:25] We do have this one room opened because our shall a girl has

[00:13:31] Left, you know about this. She's know about this

[00:13:35] She knows some call a shall a girl no no idea

[00:13:41] It's like a sugar race home a shallow a girl

[00:14:00] Yeah, they're basically like doing little tasks around the shall a I didn't like it

[00:14:04] I don't love it and it was a conversation that went on for what felt like a long time to me them saying shall a girl

[00:14:14] Yeah, a lot, you know what I would love Terry Hatcher doing a cover of material girl

[00:14:23] Cleaning things and scrubbing toilets. I am just a shall a girl

[00:19:20] And it's taking off like this idea people are loving Katie Couric

[00:19:27] Trying to make a bed like in like she's like, you know does the thing like we've all done that with the the bottom

[00:19:36] I've all been there. I had a nickel but vlogging it it takes on a life of its own that people are loving it

[00:19:49] Gets an offer from Eric the chalet owner to have some ski lessons because he sees her out and he's like, yeah

[00:19:55] You should ski. She's like I haven't skied in years

[00:19:57] But I'll I'll give him my best shot and they do a little skiing and she's like crashing into things like screaming like pizza

[00:20:11] I like we were just talking about that and Terry Hatcher is over here just like fall falling off a cliff screaming pizza

[00:29:29] And she's like what should I wear for this like thing and she pulls up this one outfit and this outfit

[00:29:36] And then she ultimately lands on the this nice like

[00:29:39] Dress sweater dress thing and he's like that's the one I voted for

[00:29:44] The guy voted for it on the live. Did you catch that one voted for the drill? Oh, I got you

[00:29:49] Yeah, yeah, it was like which one should I do vote this with that?

[00:29:52] He's like that's the one I want

[00:29:54] There you go

[00:29:56] And like as she's getting ready like she gets like very vulnerable and like she talks about how like

[00:30:02] Because like having her ex husband around's been hard and she's like but I'm a survivor and all this stuff

[00:30:06] And she's like I don't want to do like tips and stuff. I want to be like myself on camera

[00:30:11] So I'm gonna talk about things that matter to me. So

[00:30:15] That's really like good like empowering it felt it felt good like didn't feel like

[00:30:21] She's like just wanting to be an influencer to be famous

[00:30:24] She's like I want to like share my real feelings with course with the people. Yeah, um

[00:30:29] So

[00:30:32] To the dinner I'm skipping a bunch of stuff to go to the dinner

[00:30:37] There's some stuff with the ex-husband that doesn't really matter

[00:30:41] So Eric is like talking

[00:30:44] You know about the chalet and how he's gonna haired it and stuff and and he just casually like says a line

[00:30:49] He's like, you know, I'm just here for like dinner and fun and plying like

[00:30:54] Sex and she's like, oh really? Oh you're here for dinner and fine. Well

[00:30:59] Um, that's really offensive to me and I don't think you should be talking like that

[00:31:05] And they both multiple times in this dinner. They tell the other person that they're overstepping

[00:31:10] There's a couple of times

[00:31:12] where

[00:31:14] She like says oh

[00:31:16] Like she's like clearly annoyed by what he said it is a

[00:31:20] Tension filled dinner. They both say that the other ones overstepping both. Okay. Yeah, they're like you're crossing a line like

[00:31:28] You shouldn't comment on like because he likes talks trash about the the husband ex-husband calls them a narcissist

[00:31:36] And she's like, whoa, whoa, he's like a guy just hit me. He's really hot

[00:31:39] but yeah, I mean he's trying his best and

[00:31:42] She like excuses herself from the table. She's like, I gotta go like this is not working for me

[00:31:46] Like I thought we're having a romantic banter, but this is not good

[00:31:50] um

[00:31:51] So eric goes and talks to his mom and they have like a little father

[00:31:56] No

[00:31:57] mother son. Yeah the the

[00:32:00] Yes, yes, that's it. You got it. Yeah

[00:32:04] And terry hatcher like goes back to her room and she's she's getting messages from her ex-husband and from george

[00:32:10] and

[00:32:11] you know, she's like

[00:32:13] Wondering like what should I do like should I like it seems like my ex-husband's kind of like wanting

[00:32:19] Thinking i'm hot now that i'm a chalet girl

[00:32:21] um

[00:32:23] i'm a chalet girl

[00:32:25] in a chalet world

[00:32:28] yes

[00:32:30] So the next day she's supposed to go skiing with her family and uh, she's very excited. That's why she's been training the skiing this whole time

[00:32:37] Uh, but they end up ditching her like george goes off with the with the co-worker

[00:32:42] and the uh ex-husband is like

[00:32:45] Uh, just totally leaves her on the slopes alone and she skis down and she's like what the heck

[00:32:49] I thought we were skiing together. He's like, oh, don't worry about it

[00:32:53] Like you you're always so stressed about things and you always make things a bigger deal than they are

[00:32:58] And she's like, okay, i'm not making the same mistake twice like

[00:33:01] Year clear. I was envisioning a different day and you're never gonna give me that day. So

[00:33:05] I I can't even believe

[00:33:08] Didn't she see him like talking to another woman there too or something like that? Yeah

[00:33:13] Well, he has a young girlfriend. Yeah, so

[00:33:17] Yeah, it's not like he's single. He's just like a

[00:33:20] Two-time and jerk kind of two time in jerk

[00:33:23] You sure is

[00:33:25] So terry rushes back to cook christmas dinner because she's still the chalet girl and her son and her co-worker there

[00:33:31] They're all working together

[00:33:33] Um

[00:33:35] And the co-worker just got promoted to assistant manager, which is amazing and terry

[00:33:42] Like since the fight like

[00:33:46] She hasn't talked to eric and he uh tells somebody he's going to france. Is that right? He uh tell

[00:33:53] there's a

[00:33:55] type of

[00:33:56] So there's a misunderstanding about the bossa la the bossa. I want i'm going to bossa la bossa la classic

[00:34:03] And so she takes that as he's leaving

[00:34:06] And so what can you do? She rushes after him and she's like wait wait wait and then uh,

[00:34:13] He had the cars pulling away and she instead of like, you know, I don't know doing something crazy

[00:34:18] Well, maybe this could be crazy. She just starts making snowballs and like

[00:34:21] Chucking him at the car

[00:34:23] To get it to stop which I thought was pretty smart

[00:34:26] Um, and he stops and she's like don't leave for france. I can't take that and he's like

[00:34:31] I'm not going to bossa la. I'm getting bossa la wine

[00:34:39] And he's like I would never leave you like yeah, we had our differences and we had a tough conversation

[00:34:45] but

[00:34:46] Like I want to make this work and then they make out

[00:34:49] And they plan to spend many more christmas together and then they make out super hardcore and that's the end of the movie

[00:34:56] Also getting word it's burgundy and you both are saying bossa la which if that's the case

[00:35:01] We may have to shut the podcast down

[00:35:05] I didn't write burke. I didn't write it was some b word that is also I

[00:35:09] Selae, I haven't heard of any of this is bordeaux

[00:35:13] We got a lot of bordeaux sounds right

[00:35:16] It was some b word that can be confused with going somewhere

[00:35:19] Sounds like someone trying to sell me a used car

[00:35:23] Bossa la come on down to selae autos

[00:35:27] But all of these I think are possibilities. Yes

[00:35:31] So that's what we did take it to the take I went to france and they had wine and it had

[00:35:35] They had a name and they all all the regions have there. There you go. Yeah, of course

[00:35:38] Patrick went to france and there is one so there you go. What more do you need?

[00:35:41] Uh, it's time to decide how we felt about this movie. We either liked it

[00:35:45] We are going to pour it up or we're going to say we did not like it put a cork in it

[00:35:50] Yeah, uh dan goes first, right? Yeah, um, yeah this movie sounds

[00:35:54] Okay, uh, it sounds like it's mediocre and fine

[00:35:59] And when I heard Christmas at the chalet at my eyes glazed over immediately and I thought it was going to be boring

[00:36:04] But it's a good idea to have someone as famous as terry hatcher

[00:36:08] Doing that job and posting it everywhere. I think that idea is a contrast of style and star

[00:36:15] That tends to work having said that I probably would have gotten bored with that gimmick

[00:36:22] 30 to 40 minutes in so I'm still going to put a cork in it, but it's close if I could let it breathe

[00:36:27] I would but this isn't a preview show and I want to make sure I follow the rules

[00:36:31] So I want to put a cork in it

[00:36:32] Okay, there you go brand. What do you think in?

[00:36:35] um, I will say I think terry hatcher is a star in this movie

[00:36:40] And without her this movie is a bit of a turd

[00:36:43] But she's great at it. She is like really fun and when she's doing the vlogs. It's like really endearing and

[00:36:50] um, you know, I really liked it and I liked the the

[00:36:54] Not her ex-husband, but the guy she ends up hanging out with a lot

[00:36:58] He's like really chill. I will say my biggest problem is is that really tense dinner?

[00:37:03] um

[00:37:04] Was really intense and then by the end of the it's not like a very long time from when that happens to where they're like

[00:37:11] I want to give it a shot and it's like

[00:37:14] That was like the first time y'all went on like a date like that's like with wine

[00:37:19] And stuff and like y'all went like after each other. So like I'm not convinced that they should

[00:37:26] But uh, I'm gonna I'll I'll pour it up. Yeah, okay

[00:37:29] It was a long way there, but you got there

[00:37:32] Without hatcher. I think I'm putting a cork in it. Okay

[00:37:35] Oh, absolutely. Absolutely. I think she makes the movie

[00:37:40] Terry hatcher could do no wrong. We know this

[00:37:43] But for lifetime this was definitely the best lifetime one so far. Okay by

[00:37:50] By far like wow, it's been

[00:37:54] It's been a rough a rough tough go of it and

[00:37:58] The the laughing all the way also, uh, terrible terrible. Um

[00:38:05] Yeah, so it's been it's been really bleak over a lifetime. I think that's why they're pushing this sex scene

[00:38:11] So hard

[00:38:12] We have sex

[00:38:15] I'm gonna go on I'm gonna go out on a limb and say it's gonna it will be underwhelming that's gonna be my

[00:38:21] prediction on that

[00:38:22] Please I've seen a lifetime sex scene. It is uh, you know

[00:38:26] Very very tame my my response to it was I bet the belts are gonna be real loud
