[00:00:01] Hi, I'm Brandon and I love Lifetime Christmas movies. Hi, I'm Patrick Serrano and I'm a Lifetime Movie expert. I'm Dan and I despise Lifetime Christmas movies and this is the Deck The Hallmark Podcast. Deck The Hallmark gets this podcast. And friends host this podcast. We hope you like this jolly podcast. Happy the one day a year where I make cheese dip. Cheese dip.

[00:00:37] New Year's Eve. You make the cheese dip. I make the cheese dip. So you don't make it in your head. Tell me, I want to hear this process of your cheese dip. Well, it's the, whatchamacallit. A block of Velveeta cheese. Velveeta cheese with some sausage and the things. Okay, so less interesting than I thought. No. No, no, it's just for some reason, it's the thing that we do on New Year's Eve. Velveeta. Yum. You throw any rotel in there or you stay away from it? Yeah, yes, we do. Okay, yeah. Okay. So you do the recipe on the box of the day.

[00:01:07] Velveeta. That's exactly right. You crush it. Yeah, that's exactly right. I mean, it's on the box for a reason. Yeah, homemade cheese dip. That's what I was going to say. They're on the box for a reason. It's fantastic. It's Dag, I'm good. It's Dag, I'm good. I can hear, I have earbuds in. I can hear Brian Harrow laughing in the other room. Listen, it's New Year's Eve. What are you doing? I'm making my very special homemade cheese dip. If I'm not starting a new year off with my stomach being in shambles, then what am I doing? That's right. Well, we're doing a thing on January, starting on January 2nd. Yeah.

[00:01:33] Which we've not, it's TBD? Yeah, it's TBD. We decided by now. Yes. Yeah, yeah. We can't talk about it. We can't talk about it. Right. Okay. Secret. Happy early New Year to you, Patrick. Do you got any big 2025 resolutions?

[00:01:49] Oh, I don't really do resolutions. I guess stay hot. When you're already perfect. It's like, what do you? Yeah. Stay hot. I don't do resolutions either. We do things. But I, doing this thing last year, I thought it was a great decision. I feel great. I feel better than I do. We smoothied? Two smoothies a week. I, you know, it was just a thing. I cut back on my Diet Coke. I had a regimen and like a calendar to where I could, I'm easing off of it. So this, this year I get, let's see,

[00:02:18] I was down to 10 a week, which sounds like not by the end of the year. So this year I'm doing seven a week. Wow. So one a day, absolute max, no exceptions. Whereas I had some built-in buffer there for 10 a week, you know? So, and then by, by July 1, I'm going to go, I don't know what I'm going to do, but I got to cut it back further than that. And that's when I'm scared. Are you trying to cut out all together? Yeah. Wow. I'm scared. I'm scared after seven a week. I don't think I like that, Dan. I feel like I can get seven a week.

[00:02:48] You're a little Diet Coke. Yeah. But I, I feel like I'm so, I'm so close. I just, that last step is going to be a hard one because that one Diet Coke I'm drinking a day right now is 52 ounces. It is a 52 ounce fountain. It's not like, no, no, no, no. I don't do can Diet Coke. I just do fountain Diet Coke. So it's like a go to QT, get a big boy. Like it's, and the fountain's so good. It's the best. If you get it, it's the best. It's the best. It's the best. So down to seven a week. I don't know if I can go any lower than that. There's only one way to find out though.

[00:03:18] Everyone knows it's. You're going to, you're going to end up saving a lot of money. I mean, you gotta, we gotta like price this out. Like, okay, it was, it was 10. And then once you see the money associated with the, the, I don't think that's going to change it for me. It's, it's more incentive. It's more. I like it. It's, it's fountain can bottle, right? As far as. Fountain can bottle. Yes. Glass bottle may be ahead. Sure. But, um, I will say this. The good news is, is if I get completely off it, I've told myself that I'll allow myself to start cocaine.

[00:03:48] And so that is a good. That's big. Yeah. Yeah. We've been talking about it for a long time. So if I can find a way to rid myself of diet Coke, then I get cocaine. So you try one coke in for another. That's right. That's right. Regular strength.

[00:03:59] 2025 could be the, could be the year. Could be the year. And we're all, we're all, we're all really excited about that. I'm, I'm excited about a new year and I'm excited to hang out with you more, Patrick. I think we're going to, we're going to just hang out all the time this year. I think that's my goal.

[00:04:11] So, you know, if we don't hang out more, I'm going to, I'm going to be upset. So yeah.

[00:04:17] I put it out there. Now I have to live up to it. Um, but happy new year's Eve, everybody. I hope you have a wonderful new year's Eve and hopefully you all enjoy watching your countdowns and going to your parties and Dan and making your cheese. Uh, cause I know I am excited about it.

[00:04:34] You still, you still committed to staying, staying awake for the whole, like you stay up for the whole thing.

[00:04:39] I, I, yes, I still do. Great. Awesome.

[00:04:41] To midnight, to midnight. You have to stay up till midnight.

[00:04:43] Yeah. I stay up till midnight. No, I go, I go to bed like 1030.

[00:04:46] What? Oh my God. You're so close. You're so close.

[00:04:50] Yeah. Who cares though? What do I get?

[00:04:52] You get, you gotta, you gotta go out and bang the pots and pans.

[00:04:55] You never know what's going to happen because it's like, if you, if you don't stay up, you might miss like Mariah Carey, not singing on national TV. Like, okay.

[00:05:05] Oh, that was such a good year.

[00:05:06] Such a good year.

[00:05:07] But I can, I just catch the video. I've seen it.

[00:05:09] It's not the same.

[00:05:10] It is.

[00:05:10] It's the exact same.

[00:05:11] Yeah. It's the same thing. Like it's the same reason why I can't watch sports on DVR. It's like, I have to watch it live or it doesn't feel right. It doesn't feel the same.

[00:05:18] Okay. Yeah.

[00:05:19] Right.

[00:05:19] The excitement of live TV.

[00:05:21] I'll be, uh, I'm, you know, I gotta work. So.

[00:05:23] I mean, before I had kids, I stayed up and then, uh, after my kids are old and grown, maybe I will go back to that. But right now it's probably a few years from your kids staying up till midnight.

[00:05:36] That's true.

[00:05:36] Yeah.

[00:05:36] You're getting close.

[00:05:38] Yeah.

[00:05:38] You're getting close.

[00:05:39] It's it.

[00:05:39] I mean, they might want to try.

[00:05:41] They might currently stay until 8 PM.

[00:05:43] So I don't.

[00:05:43] Probably like once they get double digits, it's like the, what the fun thing to do, you know?

[00:05:48] Yeah.

[00:05:48] I don't know.

[00:05:49] I don't think they'd make it, but they'll try.

[00:05:50] Yeah.

[00:05:51] You play, you play some board games.

[00:05:53] Yeah.

[00:05:53] You get like some takeout.

[00:05:55] Some movies.

[00:05:56] And by that point you'll definitely be on cocaine.

[00:05:58] And so you'll be good.

[00:05:59] Oh, you'll be fine.

[00:06:00] You'll be fine.

[00:06:01] That's right.

[00:06:01] You'll be fine.

[00:06:02] Yeah.

[00:06:02] Um, let's get to our final lifetime Christmas movie of the year.

[00:06:06] Oh my gosh.

[00:06:06] Very excited about it.

[00:06:07] So excited.

[00:06:08] Engaged by Christmas.

[00:06:10] How's the crop been overall from the lifetime this year?

[00:06:13] Overall.

[00:06:14] I'm so thankful.

[00:06:15] It's less than less.

[00:06:17] Let's just say that.

[00:06:18] Uh, that was a total, right?

[00:06:20] Yeah.

[00:06:21] That's a Christmas miracle in and of itself.

[00:06:23] And some of them were, uh, you know, acquired from acquired acquired from other years.

[00:06:29] Acquired.

[00:06:30] Uh, so I got to like bang some out early, you know, it was not difficult to cover the lifetime

[00:06:38] once this time, but overall not great.

[00:06:40] No, no POV lifetime has no POV on their movies.

[00:06:44] That's the problem that they're just kind of throwing whatever, whatever they can get.

[00:06:48] They're putting as little effort as possible in to get through the season, to get back to

[00:06:52] the rip from the headlines.

[00:06:53] It just feels so great.

[00:06:54] Like for a network that has such a strong POV for 11 months.

[00:06:59] Yeah.

[00:07:00] To just not.

[00:07:01] Do you remember buried in Barstow?

[00:07:03] I remember.

[00:07:04] It was freaking great.

[00:07:05] Great.

[00:07:06] I remember watching that going lifetime's about to be better than Hallmark.

[00:07:09] Like it was so good.

[00:07:11] And then here we are.

[00:07:12] So there's that.

[00:07:13] Here we are.

[00:07:14] Um, all right, let's talk about who's in it and what, what, what happens?

[00:07:17] I watched it, but I'll let you go.

[00:07:19] Yes.

[00:07:20] So, um, this movie is called engaged by Christmas.

[00:07:23] The cast includes, um, our personal friend, Marcus Rosner.

[00:07:27] And, uh, I don't know her personally yet, but, but we do.

[00:07:31] You guys do, uh, Brit Bar, Barstow?

[00:07:34] Bristow.

[00:07:35] Bristow.

[00:07:35] Barry and Barstow.

[00:07:36] Brittany Bristow.

[00:07:38] That's right.

[00:07:38] You guys are, you're confusing me.

[00:07:40] Um, but, uh, you know, me, me and Brit, Brit, Brit, we're, we're going to be fast friends.

[00:07:45] So that's great.

[00:07:46] Um, and yeah, so that's all that I know about who's in the movie.

[00:07:51] Cause that's all that really matters.

[00:07:53] Yeah.

[00:07:53] I'm like, I don't really remember anybody else.

[00:07:55] Um, so let's just jump into it.

[00:07:57] So we have Brit playing Zoe.

[00:08:00] Zoe is a, uh, proposal planner slash director.

[00:08:04] So she like makes the, like, if you need help, like kind of like organizing your proposal

[00:08:10] for your special loved one, she's gonna orchestrate it and film it and like save that precious

[00:08:15] moment for you.

[00:08:15] It's like a full, full production.

[00:08:18] Like they, she's over there behind a bush with headphones and a headset on.

[00:08:23] Like now let's get the lights and then a cue the music.

[00:08:26] So they're doing a whole.

[00:08:27] I got mine.

[00:08:27] Yeah.

[00:08:28] Yeah.

[00:08:28] You're good to go.

[00:08:29] Yeah.

[00:08:29] There you go.

[00:08:30] So show up whenever, whatever lifetime costs me to be an assistant.

[00:08:33] I bring my own headset.

[00:08:36] I say lifetime.

[00:08:37] I have, I know that that's my, what I'm called for.

[00:08:41] I have my own headset.

[00:08:42] No more questions.

[00:08:43] No, right.

[00:08:44] You should walk around with a headset at Bramble fest.

[00:08:47] I like once or twice a day, just go up to Elizabeth and be like, where are we with,

[00:08:52] uh, right.

[00:08:53] Give me a clipboard.

[00:08:54] Give me a headset.

[00:08:55] That's right.

[00:08:56] Uh, that is my, no, what's happening at three.

[00:08:59] Are we good to go there?

[00:09:01] Where are we with the Rockettes?

[00:09:03] Yes.

[00:09:04] Yes.

[00:09:05] These are, this is perfect.

[00:09:06] So yeah, but she's not, this is not her business that she's working.

[00:09:10] She's working for the man, you know?

[00:09:12] Yeah.

[00:09:12] Poppy or something like that.

[00:09:14] Oh, yeah.

[00:09:15] No, it's, I think it's like, it's no, it's like her name.

[00:09:19] I think it's a her.

[00:09:19] I think her name is.

[00:09:20] Oh, Poppy.

[00:09:21] Like P O P P Y.

[00:09:22] That's how I understood it.

[00:09:24] Yeah.

[00:09:24] They're not working for Poppy.

[00:09:26] They're not working for big, but Poppy Smurf, Poppy Smurf.

[00:09:30] Uh, okay.

[00:09:30] So she does this year round, um, but she's like wanting to strike out and do her own thing,

[00:09:36] like plan other types of events, not just proposals.

[00:09:39] She wants to do like birthday parties.

[00:09:43] Wow.

[00:09:43] Wow.

[00:09:44] Big dreams.

[00:09:45] Right.

[00:09:46] She's saying, she's saying it like it's very, uh, you know, uh, state of the arc or what's

[00:09:52] that state of the arc, state of the arc, the arc, the arc, I think the arc doing well,

[00:09:56] I've got some news.

[00:09:59] It's not as round as we'd like it.

[00:10:03] And, um, her, her, her best friend is like, oh my God, you so should, but I'm going to keep

[00:10:07] working here because, uh, you can't afford to hire me as your assistant.

[00:10:10] But if, when you do, I'm so on board.

[00:10:12] So she has this idea, Dan, that she's, so she, this is her last, uh, go at it for big

[00:10:17] poppy.

[00:10:18] And then she is going to launch her business by doing a thing called the 12 dates of Christmas,

[00:10:24] where she writes a blog about fun dates that you can do with your significant other.

[00:10:29] And luckily she has a significant other.

[00:10:31] So she's going to be able to do all these things with her significant other and put it

[00:10:35] in the blog.

[00:10:35] And then that'll help take off.

[00:10:37] Be like, Hey, I'm good at planning dates.

[00:10:38] Good at planning, whatever you need.

[00:10:40] Yeah.

[00:10:41] And I love that.

[00:10:41] She's starting a blog in 2020, almost 2025, 2025, start a blog.

[00:10:46] That is quite a mood.

[00:10:47] That's the time.

[00:10:48] Where?

[00:10:49] It's a big day.

[00:10:50] Where have you been?

[00:10:50] Strike while the iron is ice cold.

[00:10:53] Right.

[00:10:54] So old.

[00:10:56] Yes.

[00:10:56] Um, so getting banned.

[00:10:58] So people are back.

[00:11:00] Okay.

[00:11:01] Strike while the iron has been replaced with steel.

[00:11:03] That's right.

[00:11:05] That's good for me.

[00:11:06] That's good for me.

[00:11:07] And lifetime of court, you know, our numbers this year, I'll show you the graph.

[00:11:11] I'll show you the graph.

[00:11:11] I got the numbers.

[00:11:13] That's crazy.

[00:11:13] Listen, buy, buy the man a glass of wine.

[00:11:15] So if you don't know, I love numbers and I love the stats.

[00:11:19] So we could go through it.

[00:11:21] Yeah.

[00:11:22] Um, okay.

[00:11:23] So she like has this boyfriend, his name's Carrie.

[00:11:27] Uh, and she like wants him to pop the question, but nobody's like planning her proposal or

[00:11:34] whatever.

[00:11:34] So, cause she's the planner of all the proposals.

[00:11:37] Um, so she writes to this columnist, uh, kind of like a dear Abby, but in this movie it's

[00:11:42] called dear and Dora.

[00:11:44] Yeah.

[00:11:44] Sweet.

[00:11:44] Like a sweet older lady.

[00:11:47] And Dora.

[00:11:49] Interesting.

[00:11:49] Or maybe it's just a Dora, but I like and Dora better.

[00:11:52] Uh, and the, uh, the advice that and Dora gives, uh, is as follows.

[00:11:59] Uh, want him to get the hint?

[00:12:01] Stop hinting and be upfront about your wants and needs.

[00:12:04] Remember not everyone's on the same time clock.

[00:12:07] You can't decide if he is ready to get married.

[00:12:10] Only if you are.

[00:12:11] That's good advice.

[00:12:13] It is good advice.

[00:12:14] Yeah.

[00:12:14] Too bad.

[00:12:15] It's written by hot sexy writer, Marcus Rosner.

[00:12:20] That's right.

[00:12:20] Oh boy.

[00:12:21] It's not an old woman named Dora.

[00:12:23] It's Marcus Rosner.

[00:12:25] Oh no.

[00:12:26] Right.

[00:12:26] I know.

[00:12:28] Sneaky Marcus.

[00:12:29] And you guys, I was so surprised to find out that Marcus is literate.

[00:12:33] I couldn't believe she was writing.

[00:12:36] I was so proud of him.

[00:12:37] We were all.

[00:12:38] Marcus.

[00:12:38] It was a big day for all of us.

[00:12:40] He's just so strong and so, you know, muscly.

[00:12:44] I couldn't believe that he could write something.

[00:12:48] Patrick spent too much time with Marcus in the green room.

[00:12:50] That's all I could like.

[00:12:52] That's what happened.

[00:12:52] We did.

[00:12:53] It was like Marcus is in the green room.

[00:12:54] I'm in the green room.

[00:12:55] Oh my gosh.

[00:12:55] What do you know?

[00:12:56] I'm in the green room.

[00:12:57] Oh, that's so weird.

[00:12:59] I like crazy.

[00:13:00] Oh my God.

[00:13:01] You're here.

[00:13:01] You're here.

[00:13:02] I heard it on my headset.

[00:13:04] You're taking a break.

[00:13:05] He's like, shouldn't you be on stage?

[00:13:06] I'm like, oh, they don't need me for this.

[00:13:08] It's literally your seductive life.

[00:13:10] I'm a court.

[00:13:10] It's your time.

[00:13:12] They can do it without me.

[00:13:13] Brain watch the movie.

[00:13:16] I'll be in one of his movies someday.

[00:13:17] We've talked.

[00:13:18] We've talked off air.

[00:13:19] Great.

[00:13:20] Great.

[00:13:20] He's waiting for the right gay assistant part to come up for me.

[00:13:23] Got it.

[00:13:24] Got it.

[00:13:24] Well, maybe if Marcus stops being such a bigot, he can work that into one of his movies.

[00:13:28] Come on, Marcus.

[00:13:29] Yeah, let's go.

[00:13:30] Let's go.

[00:13:31] But he's not just a fake old lady.

[00:13:34] He also is a counselor.

[00:13:36] He's very busy.

[00:13:38] He's got all of these things coming in, but he also has actual clients that he has to see.

[00:13:43] Yeah.

[00:13:44] But he's big into the advice.

[00:13:46] But he does the advice on the side.

[00:13:47] He gives advice for job and for side job.

[00:13:50] Job and for romance.

[00:13:52] Yes, right.

[00:13:52] Oh, and actually, you guys, he does have a somewhat gay assistant in this movie who kind

[00:13:57] of pops in and is like, you're too busy.

[00:13:59] I don't really know who that guy is because I thought that he was Marcus's counselor.

[00:14:06] But then they're also just good friends.

[00:14:09] But then also he tells them what to do.

[00:14:11] I don't know what he is.

[00:14:12] Huh.

[00:14:12] Interesting.

[00:14:13] Yeah, it was an ambiguous friend slash coworker character.

[00:14:18] But I was thinking like, is this a gay assistant?

[00:14:21] Because I'm offended.

[00:14:21] We had a deal, Marcus.

[00:14:23] Yeah.

[00:14:23] I do think that this one was filmed before your deal was struck, though.

[00:14:28] So yeah, that's true.

[00:14:28] That's true.

[00:14:29] And you know, I didn't get anything in writing.

[00:14:31] Yeah, you always get it in writing.

[00:14:33] That's the key.

[00:14:33] My bad.

[00:14:34] I had no napkins.

[00:14:35] I had no napkins.

[00:14:36] Marcus is going to listen to this, though.

[00:14:37] And I think he'll be in touch.

[00:14:38] He is.

[00:14:39] We were top-fying in Spotify podcasts.

[00:14:42] Oh, he listens to these?

[00:14:44] Wait, I take back everything I said.

[00:14:47] Oh, wait.

[00:14:48] Oh, no.

[00:14:48] Oh, no.

[00:14:49] Marcus is very smart.

[00:14:51] He wears glasses.

[00:14:55] Okay, okay.

[00:14:57] Marcus is going to love this.

[00:14:58] His assistant has also been in like four other movies with Marcus.

[00:15:03] So yeah, they're probably like real friends.

[00:15:06] I think you have to kill him.

[00:15:08] And they kind of weasel your way in as a replacement.

[00:15:12] Right, right.

[00:15:13] I can't encroach on that bromance.

[00:15:15] So I'll let them have it.

[00:15:17] Man, the tenor has changed since he knows Marcus is going to listen to this.

[00:15:21] Oh, my gosh.

[00:15:22] Wow, yeah.

[00:15:23] What's that?

[00:15:23] Is that the sound of Patrick pouring it out?

[00:15:26] Oh, yeah.

[00:15:29] Truck is backing up right now.

[00:15:30] He's going to edit the website real quick.

[00:15:32] Right, yeah.

[00:15:33] Let me just change all my notes.

[00:15:34] Okay, so Zoe goes to dinner with Carrie, her boyfriend.

[00:15:38] And they're on totally different pages.

[00:15:40] He wants to break up, of course, because she's too smothering is what he says, which is so rude.

[00:15:45] He isn't even sure if he's into the idea of marriage, which is something that you should definitely know about your significant other.

[00:15:51] 100%.

[00:15:52] I'm like, whoa, that's quite a bomb to drop if she thought you were going to engage and you don't even know if you're into the idea of marriage.

[00:15:58] You don't, I don't, like, realistically, right?

[00:16:01] Like, you don't get to the point of being like, I think he's getting close to popping the question without having some sort of conversation about your thoughts on marriage.

[00:16:09] Right?

[00:16:10] Yeah.

[00:16:11] Absolutely.

[00:16:12] Absolutely.

[00:16:13] I've been proposed to many times.

[00:16:16] How many times?

[00:16:17] How many times?

[00:16:17] If you count Marcus, seven.

[00:16:20] Okay.

[00:16:21] What if we don't count Marcus?

[00:16:22] We all know that.

[00:16:23] We all know he wouldn't mean that one.

[00:16:25] Oh, right, right.

[00:16:26] That was just a bit.

[00:16:28] So six.

[00:16:29] Six.

[00:16:30] Any of them were you close to saying yes to?

[00:16:33] No.

[00:16:33] Wow.

[00:16:34] Was it a very quick, fast staccato?

[00:16:37] No.

[00:16:38] Like, did you cut them off or do you let them finish and think about it like you're actually thinking?

[00:16:42] What do you do?

[00:16:43] Do you do full of performance?

[00:16:44] I do the beard.

[00:16:45] The beard.

[00:16:46] Like a thingy thing.

[00:16:48] Thinking.

[00:16:48] Thinking, thinking man.

[00:16:50] I do the thinking man.

[00:16:51] And then I say, you know, I don't even know if I'm into the idea of marriage.

[00:16:56] Wow.

[00:16:56] So you do this.

[00:16:58] You do this move.

[00:16:59] Yeah.

[00:17:00] They stole it from me.

[00:17:01] Wow.

[00:17:02] But we know you are because your aunt has a place where you want to get married.

[00:17:06] That's true.

[00:17:07] I do want to get married.

[00:17:07] Yeah, just not to the person that asked.

[00:17:10] That's right.

[00:17:11] What Patrick says is, I'm just not sure if I'm into the idea of marriage.

[00:17:14] What do you do?

[00:17:14] I don't know.

[00:17:16] I know we're up against it, but you've been proposed to six times.

[00:17:19] And how many times did you see this?

[00:17:22] Like, if you don't want to marry this person and you see it coming, did you take any effort

[00:17:26] to just be like, hey, just so you know, I don't want to get married?

[00:17:28] Or did you not see it coming?

[00:17:30] This kind of took you by surprise.

[00:17:32] Well, usually, you know, I wait to break up until after the holidays.

[00:17:36] I know that about you.

[00:17:36] That's right.

[00:17:37] Classic.

[00:17:37] We talked about that.

[00:17:39] Yeah.

[00:17:39] So it usually does.

[00:17:40] The proposals do happen in between Thanksgiving and Christmas.

[00:17:43] So what can you do?

[00:17:45] It's in my no breakup zone.

[00:17:47] But are you.

[00:17:48] So what do you do if they ask you to get married on December 20th?

[00:17:52] You're like, I don't want to get married, but I do want to stay together at least for

[00:17:55] the next week and a half.

[00:17:56] Right.

[00:17:57] I'm like, I got to get my Christmas present.

[00:17:59] Right.

[00:18:00] I got to get myself.

[00:18:01] He's got to get.

[00:18:02] You're getting a cell.

[00:18:04] Man, call back to a week and a half.

[00:18:05] Good job.

[00:18:06] That was a long time ago.

[00:18:07] It's almost two weeks.

[00:18:08] We did that.

[00:18:09] Right.

[00:18:10] You're top of the dome, Patrick.

[00:18:12] I've always heard.

[00:18:13] Yeah.

[00:18:13] Sharp.

[00:18:14] Sharp.

[00:18:15] Oh, are we taking a break?

[00:18:17] Oh, my God.

[00:18:17] See you right after this.

[00:18:18] We'll come right back here.

[00:18:20] All right.

[00:18:30] Welcome back, everybody.

[00:18:31] To catch you up to speed.

[00:18:32] Britt Bristow doesn't proposals.

[00:18:36] Marcus Ross.

[00:18:37] Dumb.

[00:18:37] And I think that's where you've gotten to.

[00:18:39] Marcus is playing an old woman named Adora writing comics.

[00:18:42] Adora, Adora, whatever.

[00:18:44] Macklemore doesn't.

[00:18:44] Ryan Lewis doesn't do Macklemore.

[00:18:46] Great.

[00:18:46] All right.

[00:18:47] Let's go.

[00:18:48] Okay.

[00:18:49] So the breakup happens.

[00:18:51] Zoe is upset because she had the whole dates thing happening.

[00:18:55] And now it's ruined.

[00:18:57] Her blog is ruined.

[00:18:58] What is she going to do?

[00:18:59] And I will say, I found this scene to be very funny.

[00:19:02] She has two best friends throughout this movie.

[00:19:05] They're really fun together.

[00:19:06] And she has this great scene where she's like, I'm fine.

[00:19:10] This is fine.

[00:19:11] I can do this.

[00:19:11] I can launch this blog without him.

[00:19:13] I don't need anybody.

[00:19:13] I'm totally fine.

[00:19:14] And then there's like a quick, a short break.

[00:19:17] And then she goes, I'm not fine.

[00:19:18] And it was very funny.

[00:19:20] Britt is great at that.

[00:19:21] Yeah.

[00:19:21] I was going to say, like, she's so good at playing like that type of like a type A personality where normally in like a in like a movie or like in a less capable actor's hands, it would be annoying.

[00:19:35] But she is somehow like, I get her.

[00:19:37] And I'm like, yes, I have a friend like that.

[00:19:39] And yeah, I'm the one that like brings over the wine and ice cream.

[00:19:42] And it's like, let's chill.

[00:19:43] Let's just chill a minute.

[00:19:44] Let's chill.

[00:19:45] You got to have all the alphabet, right?

[00:19:47] You got to have the type A.

[00:19:48] You got to have the type B.

[00:19:49] You got to have the type C.

[00:19:50] You know.

[00:19:51] What are you?

[00:19:52] Type C.

[00:19:54] So I took a psychology class in college and the teacher went around and told everybody what they were.

[00:19:59] She told me I'm type A, but I pretend like I'm type B.

[00:20:02] Yeah.

[00:20:03] Well, like it's weird because you come to Bramble Fest and I think you have this ability to shift gears from I'm planning this event and I'm organizing it to I'm just a participant.

[00:20:12] And I think you do that so well.

[00:20:14] Like you could easily come down and ask a thousand questions.

[00:20:17] But like, when are we doing this?

[00:20:18] But you're just here for the ride when you come down.

[00:20:20] It's it's.

[00:20:21] Oh, yeah.

[00:20:21] Organized by something else.

[00:20:22] And so you are like hands off.

[00:20:24] But I get the feeling if we're like, hey, Patrick, we want you to organize Bramble Fest.

[00:20:27] You would be very a very different personality down there.

[00:20:32] Sure.

[00:20:32] Yeah.

[00:20:32] I mean, you saw my lifetime quiz.

[00:20:35] I made a whole deck.

[00:20:36] That's so true.

[00:20:37] Done and done.

[00:20:39] All right.

[00:20:40] So the friends.

[00:20:40] Yeah.

[00:20:41] The friends in this one are actually pretty, pretty realistic and cool.

[00:20:44] Their names are Lauren and Emma.

[00:20:45] I wrote that down.

[00:20:46] And they bring her wine and hugs.

[00:20:47] And that's so sweet.

[00:20:50] So, yeah, she decides to, you know, get more advice from her dear Andora or Adora.

[00:20:57] Adora.

[00:20:58] Yeah.

[00:20:58] Go to in person.

[00:21:01] And like she finds the address of the newspaper.

[00:21:06] Newspaper still exists in this movie.

[00:21:08] And she rushed down to the newspaper station or whatever we call it.

[00:21:13] And Marcus Rogers there.

[00:21:15] He's like, whoa, who are you?

[00:21:16] And she's like, oh, I'm here.

[00:21:18] I just want to talk to dear Adora.

[00:21:21] And, you know, if you could let me know where she is.

[00:21:23] And he's like, oh, I don't know where she is.

[00:21:25] And then there's a picture on the wall of Adora.

[00:21:29] Uh-huh.

[00:21:30] Fake Adora.

[00:21:30] And you see Britt Barstow, like, putting it together.

[00:21:34] Yeah.

[00:21:35] Bristow, Bristow.

[00:21:36] She's buried in Bristow.

[00:21:37] Yeah.

[00:21:38] That's right.

[00:21:39] I'm just going to say Britt, Britt.

[00:21:41] Britt, Britt.

[00:21:42] And she sees the poster.

[00:21:44] And she's like, wait a minute.

[00:21:45] Wait a minute.

[00:21:46] You're Adora.

[00:21:48] How did she put it together from the poster?

[00:21:50] She saw the poster.

[00:21:51] She saw all the open stuff.

[00:21:53] The poster's of an old woman, though, right?

[00:21:55] Yeah.

[00:21:56] Yeah, like with a hat.

[00:21:57] Like a magnifying glass.

[00:21:59] And then you see all of the letters on the thing.

[00:22:05] And he's sitting at the desk.

[00:22:06] And her name is nowhere to be found, only his name.

[00:22:09] So she does all these quick little stuff.

[00:22:11] Yeah.

[00:22:11] And he's being very weird about it.

[00:22:13] Yeah, got it.

[00:22:14] Got it.

[00:22:14] Oh, very weird.

[00:22:15] And what's great is she's not upset and like, my dreams are crushed.

[00:22:22] She's like, you know what?

[00:22:23] You're a fraud.

[00:22:24] I'm going to tell everybody, if you don't help me this Christmas with my problems, I'm blackmailing you into helping me get this blog off the ground and figure out what to do with these dates since I got broken up with.

[00:22:37] And, you know, you give advice.

[00:22:40] So you're my advice giver for the holiday season.

[00:22:43] What a great sentence to say.

[00:22:45] She blackmails him to help her get this blog up and running.

[00:22:49] It's just off the ground.

[00:22:50] It's the best.

[00:22:51] It's the best.

[00:22:52] Like, we've reached the top.

[00:22:54] We've reached the peak of what TV movies should be right here.

[00:22:57] Right?

[00:22:57] It's like, okay.

[00:22:59] The stakes couldn't be higher, you guys.

[00:23:01] It's getting real.

[00:23:03] Are there any dead parents in this movie?

[00:23:05] I don't think so.

[00:23:06] Wow.

[00:23:07] Oh, man.

[00:23:08] Dodging bullets left and right over here.

[00:23:10] Right?

[00:23:11] So Zoe shows Marcus Rosner the planner and kind of her binder.

[00:23:17] She has everything very type A organized and the dates she wants to try out.

[00:23:23] And he's like, you know what?

[00:23:24] This is very romantic.

[00:23:26] And then I fainted.

[00:23:28] I didn't watch the rest of the movie.

[00:23:29] I just fainted because Marcus Rosner was talking about romance.

[00:23:31] So I was like, oh, romance.

[00:23:34] Oh, yeah.

[00:23:35] Yeah.

[00:23:36] Just like on my day bed.

[00:23:37] Thank God it was there.

[00:23:38] Spilot on TV slash DTH to see all of Patrick Serrano's reactions.

[00:23:43] Yeah.

[00:23:44] Yeah.

[00:23:44] So he's like, let's just do let's just go with the flow.

[00:23:48] Like, let's just like go on dates and like not really worry about it.

[00:23:52] And she's like, well, we can't do that.

[00:23:54] I want to get my boyfriend back and I have to do all these things.

[00:23:57] And he's like, whoa.

[00:23:59] You don't need to have your boyfriend back.

[00:24:00] Yeah.

[00:24:01] That guy sounds like a jerk.

[00:24:02] Forget that.

[00:24:02] What a loser.

[00:24:04] Yeah.

[00:24:04] I'm like, thank you, Marcus, for spelling it out.

[00:24:07] You know, I was also like very like laying down like on my day bed and like fanny myself.

[00:24:12] But yeah.

[00:24:13] So use.

[00:24:14] Yeah.

[00:24:15] Yeah.

[00:24:15] He can't he can't help but like let the advice flow.

[00:24:18] You know, it's like doing the like they go take Christmas photos and he's like telling

[00:24:23] her all these things that they're doing all like the Christmassy things that are like fun

[00:24:27] and like he's like, let it go.

[00:24:30] Just like.

[00:24:31] Just let it go.

[00:24:33] Let it go.

[00:24:35] So the blog launches.

[00:24:36] It doesn't take off initially, surprisingly.

[00:24:41] And at a block, it's hard to block, you know?

[00:24:46] Yes.

[00:24:47] It's hard to launch a blog.

[00:24:48] Some of us are successful bloggers.

[00:24:50] And even then, what does success mean?

[00:24:55] Right.

[00:24:56] Yeah.

[00:24:56] Yeah.

[00:24:56] You've got all the charts like you could get.

[00:24:58] You could dive into what it what success looks like.

[00:25:00] I've got the charts.

[00:25:01] I've got millions of views.

[00:25:03] And does that matter?

[00:25:05] Does it?

[00:25:06] Nah.

[00:25:06] It's a it's a blog at the end of the day.

[00:25:08] Yeah.

[00:25:09] Can you imagine if there was a standardized rate you got paid for views or clicks or like

[00:25:14] any of that stuff?

[00:25:15] It would be crazy.

[00:25:16] Yeah.

[00:25:17] If they standardized that across all platforms.

[00:25:19] Insane.

[00:25:20] Just definitely.

[00:25:22] Yeah.

[00:25:23] So.

[00:25:25] Oh, what am I saying about this movie?

[00:25:28] So.

[00:25:30] What is there to say?

[00:25:31] What is there to say about a perfect movie?

[00:25:34] You know, I'm a little I'm a little lost in my notes on the plot.

[00:25:37] Exactly.

[00:25:37] But it's more of a vibe.

[00:25:39] Right.

[00:25:39] They're getting together over the course of him helping her launch this blog.

[00:25:43] Even though it's unsuccessful.

[00:25:44] They find themselves in a relationship that is successful.

[00:25:48] Oh, wow.

[00:25:48] Really good.

[00:25:49] Really good log line there.

[00:25:50] Yes.

[00:25:51] They do start hanging out and all that good stuff.

[00:25:55] And he begins to be like, hey, actually, I think that somebody wrote in to Adora asking about

[00:26:03] how to keep the romance alive during the holiday season.

[00:26:07] I think I could link to your blog.

[00:26:10] Oh.

[00:26:11] Oh.

[00:26:11] And kind of make it into it.

[00:26:13] Foot traffic.

[00:26:14] And by foot traffic, I mean web traffic.

[00:26:15] That's right.

[00:26:15] So he does do that.

[00:26:16] And the website begins to pop.

[00:26:19] Pop.

[00:26:20] Yes.

[00:26:21] Well, and also she's documenting kind of like being cool during the holidays.

[00:26:25] Like he's like, you should just like stop pretending to be dating somebody and like just

[00:26:29] do just write what you're experiencing.

[00:26:32] Is this 2013?

[00:26:34] Like, is this like this is a great like what are we like?

[00:26:38] Oh, a single during the holidays blog.

[00:26:41] This is just like, wow, what a cool idea.

[00:26:44] Yeah.

[00:26:45] But he still hangs out.

[00:26:46] Don't worry.

[00:26:47] Yeah.

[00:26:47] He doesn't give her the space to actually single date.

[00:26:51] Right.

[00:26:51] Well, and she's blackmailing him to be with her all Christmas off the ground.

[00:26:55] Yes, he has to.

[00:26:57] He has to.

[00:26:57] Now we do.

[00:26:58] Is this at the point where we find out who Adora really is?

[00:27:03] Yes.

[00:27:04] Yes.

[00:27:04] It is.

[00:27:04] His grandma.

[00:27:05] Yeah.

[00:27:06] His aunt.

[00:27:07] Oh, his aunt.

[00:27:09] Yeah.

[00:27:09] Yeah.

[00:27:09] Dead auntie.

[00:27:11] So he used to help her with it.

[00:27:13] She passed away and he kind of wanted to keep her legacy alive.

[00:27:16] So he kind of took it on himself.

[00:27:18] And she would dictate from a day bed because she was with Marcus Rosner.

[00:27:23] You can't be standing.

[00:27:24] You can't be standing upright when you're not ill.

[00:27:27] She's not ill.

[00:27:28] She's just overcome with emotion.

[00:27:31] That's right.

[00:27:31] And love.

[00:27:33] A feeling of love.

[00:27:34] Dear reader.

[00:27:35] Something like that.

[00:27:37] Yes, absolutely.

[00:27:38] So no one knows dear auntie's tone and advice better than Marcus Rosner.

[00:27:45] That's exactly.

[00:27:45] Of course.

[00:27:46] Years of practice.

[00:27:47] And he doesn't want to upset the readers because he doesn't want them to be like, oh, no, she died.

[00:27:53] Imagine if dear Abby died.

[00:27:54] You know?

[00:27:55] I know.

[00:27:56] So you just get like, oh, Abby could be dead.

[00:27:58] Abby lives forever.

[00:27:59] That's the point.

[00:28:00] Abby could be dead.

[00:28:02] But.

[00:28:03] And we would have no way to know.

[00:28:04] There's a new Abby.

[00:28:05] That's right.

[00:28:06] Abby is not a person.

[00:28:08] Abby is a thing.

[00:28:10] A thing.

[00:28:10] Right.

[00:28:11] You know?

[00:28:12] Caroling happens.

[00:28:12] It's live caroling.

[00:28:14] No lip syncing here.

[00:28:15] They do really sing here.

[00:28:16] Yeah, you're right.

[00:28:17] I would say Brit is a singer.

[00:28:19] Marcus is not.

[00:28:20] Well, we saw him at karaoke.

[00:28:21] We've seen Marcus.

[00:28:22] I think we've established what he is.

[00:28:24] Marcus.

[00:28:24] Where his talents lie.

[00:28:26] Marcus has a voice for certain genres.

[00:28:29] Christmas caroling is maybe not one of them.

[00:28:30] Maybe not one of them.

[00:28:31] That's right.

[00:28:32] He can sing.

[00:28:32] He can sing Christmas carols.

[00:28:33] Everybody can sing Christmas carols.

[00:28:35] Okay.

[00:28:36] But, you know.

[00:28:37] That was a real move.

[00:28:40] You just did.

[00:28:40] You just said he doesn't.

[00:28:42] He's not a singer.

[00:28:44] We joined in on the fun.

[00:28:45] And then you're like, well, actually, he's pretty great.

[00:28:46] He's pretty good.

[00:28:47] He can sing those.

[00:28:48] Everybody can sing those.

[00:28:48] You're in England for that assistant job.

[00:28:50] We know what you're doing.

[00:28:51] Everybody can do that.

[00:28:52] All right.

[00:28:53] All right.

[00:28:53] Yeah.

[00:28:53] Marcus is a great singer.

[00:28:55] Great singer.

[00:28:57] Well, he should have an album.

[00:28:59] And if you're his assistant, you'll make that happen.

[00:29:02] That's right.

[00:29:02] Absolutely.

[00:29:03] And I would loan my voice to him.

[00:29:06] I would merely vanilla it.

[00:29:08] Wow.

[00:29:09] No one would be able to tell.

[00:29:11] It would be just like.

[00:29:12] You and I know it's true.

[00:29:13] Yeah.

[00:29:14] When I hear you two, I'm like, am I talking to the same person?

[00:29:16] This is crazy.

[00:29:17] You can sing in a different voice than you talk.

[00:29:20] How would you sing for Marcus Rosner Jingle Bells?

[00:29:25] Jingle Bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way.

[00:29:30] All right.

[00:29:31] We got to New Year's Eve to get the highlight of the year, but we made it.

[00:29:34] That's great.

[00:29:35] That's nice.

[00:29:36] Jingle Bells, jingle bells.

[00:29:39] Yep.

[00:29:39] There you go.

[00:29:40] So we knock out some more Christmassy things.

[00:29:44] They go ice skating.

[00:29:45] Marcus Rosner's really bad at ice skating, which is a fun kind of play on that trope.

[00:29:51] I'm surprised.

[00:29:51] I'm from Canada.

[00:29:52] He loves hockey.

[00:29:53] I don't think he's bad at ice skating.

[00:29:54] No, he's definitely acting here.

[00:29:56] Yeah.

[00:29:57] He's capital A acting bad at ice skating.

[00:30:00] He's acting bad.

[00:30:01] He's acting bad.

[00:30:02] Straight from Patrick Serrano.

[00:30:04] Marcus Rosner acting bad.

[00:30:07] I've been misconstrued.

[00:30:08] Cut that clip.

[00:30:09] Yep.

[00:30:10] Out of contact.

[00:30:13] But things are working out for the best.

[00:30:15] The blog is a hit.

[00:30:17] The readers love the tone.

[00:30:20] And the assistant or the friend, the co-worker, is going to quit her job and work for Zoe's

[00:30:25] company now.

[00:30:26] So this is great.

[00:30:27] All the things are happening.

[00:30:30] There's a proposal thrown in there.

[00:30:32] It's a very B plot, but there's a proposal that happens.

[00:30:36] Cool.

[00:30:38] Zoe and Adam go to see It's a Wonderful Life.

[00:30:42] Spontaneously.

[00:30:42] Spontaneously.

[00:30:43] Spontaneously.

[00:30:44] She doesn't.

[00:30:44] Not everything has to be planned out with her.

[00:30:46] Sometimes she can see something and be like, you know what?

[00:30:48] I want to do that.

[00:30:48] And that's fine.

[00:30:49] Wow.

[00:30:50] They do.

[00:30:51] And, you know, nothing like going to see a three and a half hour movie spontaneously.

[00:30:56] There's no way that It's a Wonderful Life is three and a half hours long.

[00:30:59] There's just no way.

[00:31:00] Well, with commercials, I'm thinking.

[00:31:02] Yeah.

[00:31:04] It's a long movie.

[00:31:06] It's a long movie.

[00:31:07] We're looking for two hours and ten minutes.

[00:31:08] It's about half that.

[00:31:10] Add commercials.

[00:31:11] Add commercials.

[00:31:12] Everyone knows for every hour of movie, there's hour of commercials.

[00:31:16] Everyone knows that.

[00:31:16] It's crazy.

[00:31:18] Three and a half hours.

[00:31:19] Yeah.

[00:31:19] I think CBS got the right.

[00:31:21] And I think that's why it's important for everybody to get Philo.

[00:31:24] You get Philo and then you can save it and then add one button ad.

[00:31:27] Without the credits, probably two, five.

[00:31:28] Oh, hey guys, speaking of blogs, on my blog, I've been linking to your Philo.

[00:31:32] I saw that.

[00:31:33] Thanks for doing that.

[00:31:34] I love that.

[00:31:34] Are you getting any hits?

[00:31:36] I don't know.

[00:31:37] We don't get those numbers.

[00:31:38] I don't get those numbers, but I have to imagine that we're getting those hits.

[00:31:42] Yeah.

[00:31:42] All right.

[00:31:42] Well, if you need someone to check the numbers out and check the source, the Slice Hub on

[00:31:48] Court is feeding to you guys.

[00:31:50] Anyways.

[00:31:52] Yeah.

[00:31:52] So Marcus Rosner does not know about the angel and every time a bell rings, the angel gets

[00:31:58] his way.

[00:31:58] He's never seen the movie and never heard that line before.

[00:32:01] He's never seen.

[00:32:01] It's a wonderful line.

[00:32:03] And I, listen, I didn't see it until I was-

[00:32:05] Until five years ago.

[00:32:05] Until five, well, seven years ago now.

[00:32:07] You watched-

[00:32:08] I watched it that first holiday season.

[00:32:10] Yeah.

[00:32:11] Yeah.

[00:32:11] No, 2017.

[00:32:13] That holiday season.

[00:32:14] The first holiday season.

[00:32:15] That we did Deck the Hallmark?

[00:32:16] That we did Deck the Hallmark.

[00:32:16] 2018.

[00:32:16] I watched it.

[00:32:17] Yeah.

[00:32:17] Yeah.

[00:32:18] It's seven years.

[00:32:19] Actually, seven seasons.

[00:32:20] Actually, six years we've been doing this.

[00:32:22] I thought we started in 2017.

[00:32:23] We sure didn't.

[00:32:24] Oh, my son was born in 2017.

[00:32:25] There it is.

[00:32:26] Yeah.

[00:32:27] Anyway.

[00:32:27] Yeah.

[00:32:28] So, but I had heard the classic line every time a bell rings, an angel gets his wings.

[00:32:36] Come on.

[00:32:37] Absolutely.

[00:32:37] I mean, I'm over here ringing bells.

[00:32:39] I got ding-dongs all over the place.

[00:32:41] That's exactly right, Patrick.

[00:32:43] All right.

[00:32:43] From your lips to God's ears.

[00:32:44] You nailed it.

[00:32:45] Okay.

[00:32:46] Okay.

[00:32:46] Okay.

[00:32:46] Let's move on.

[00:32:47] He's on his day bed.

[00:32:48] Ding-dongs all over the place.

[00:32:51] Oh, Lord.

[00:32:54] I blame Marcus.

[00:32:55] I blame Marcus for that.

[00:32:56] You cannot recover.

[00:32:57] Ding-dong on the brain.

[00:32:58] There's no way to recover.

[00:32:58] There's no way.

[00:32:59] There's no way.

[00:33:02] You even did a little shake thing.

[00:33:04] If we could get the video-

[00:33:05] Lee Hodo, if we could get the video and audio, it would be-

[00:33:07] Don't play that bad.

[00:33:08] Don't play that bad.

[00:33:10] Definitely warm hands are tight.

[00:33:11] That's right.

[00:33:12] All right.

[00:33:13] Zoe and Adam have feelings for each other.

[00:33:15] They just don't know how to express them.

[00:33:17] So, she invites Marcus Rosser over for wine and charcuterie, and they lose track of time

[00:33:24] working on letters together.

[00:33:26] So, they're writing the little dear adora letters.

[00:33:29] She's helping with the letters.

[00:33:30] Yeah, yeah, yeah.

[00:33:31] Which is really nice.

[00:33:33] And then he leaves.

[00:33:35] There's no hanky-panky.

[00:33:37] Unfortunately for us.

[00:33:38] No ding-dong.

[00:33:39] This is like the part of the movie where I was like, they're going to hook up, but they

[00:33:43] didn't.

[00:33:44] No.

[00:33:44] She spends the night alone decorating the tree, and she's okay with being by herself, which

[00:33:51] is so nice.

[00:33:52] Yes, but then this whole thing happens where he was supposed to come over later, and he

[00:33:57] doesn't.

[00:33:57] He just doesn't even call, and so she just kind of falls asleep on the couch sad.

[00:34:01] Oh, womp womp.

[00:34:03] Oh, right.

[00:34:04] Yeah.

[00:34:04] Yeah.

[00:34:04] These are the details we're getting here.

[00:34:05] It tells me not a lot's going on in this movie.

[00:34:07] This is just a love story.

[00:34:09] Okay.

[00:34:09] Maybe just say yes.

[00:34:11] Yeah, it's just a love story.

[00:34:12] Just go with it.

[00:34:13] Just go with the flow, as Marcus would say.

[00:34:15] And yeah, so there's a...

[00:34:21] I don't know.

[00:34:23] Something happens where they get into an argument, but I don't know why.

[00:34:28] I didn't write why.

[00:34:29] What happened?

[00:34:29] So they get into an argument because he didn't show up, and she's mad about that.

[00:34:35] And so then he shows up to apologize, and instead of apologizing, he tells her that she's unable

[00:34:45] to do anything herself.

[00:34:48] He's really mean to her for no reason, and then she's like, oh my gosh, what the heck?

[00:34:52] And so he's like, oh man, I came over here to say I love you, and ended up saying that

[00:34:57] you suck.

[00:34:57] That's tough.

[00:34:58] That's tough.

[00:34:59] It's tough.

[00:34:59] That's a tough day.

[00:35:00] Yeah.

[00:35:00] I hate it when that happens.

[00:35:02] Yeah.

[00:35:03] But yeah, so we see the proposal, the one that I said that didn't really matter, but

[00:35:11] it brings them back together because Zoe is planning the proposal, and Marcus Roserkeiser

[00:35:18] comes in and interrupts the proposal.

[00:35:20] He doesn't have the best timing, but it's cute because he's like, oh, well, why is it

[00:35:29] cute?

[00:35:30] I think because Marcus is doing it.

[00:35:31] Yeah, I think it's mainly because Marcus is doing it.

[00:35:33] But yeah, so they kind of tell each other how they feel and whatnot, and they're going

[00:35:39] to spend Christmas together.

[00:35:41] Wow.

[00:35:41] Yes, and they write one last column.

[00:35:43] Oh yes, he's going to retire and Adora.

[00:35:47] Yeah, dear Adora is retiring.

[00:35:49] She's not dead, but she is dead.

[00:35:52] We know that.

[00:35:53] We know.

[00:35:54] We're privy to that.

[00:35:56] And he asked her to be her last Christmas date, and they won't plan it.

[00:36:01] They'll just play it by ear, and then they kiss, and then Merry Christmas.

[00:36:04] Wow.

[00:36:05] There you have it.

[00:36:06] We did it.

[00:36:07] We did it.

[00:36:08] We did it.

[00:36:09] What do we do next, man?

[00:36:11] Well, on the show, we put a cork in it.

[00:36:13] That's right.

[00:36:14] I love that for us.

[00:36:17] I'm having a hard time here, and I'm not.

[00:36:19] It's a definite put a cork in it.

[00:36:20] But I'm having a hard time because I love these two human beings, and they're wonderful

[00:36:25] people, and I was default mode pour it up because I think these two would be great together.

[00:36:31] This movie sounds like a snooze fest, and I'm glad I didn't watch it.

[00:36:37] Sorry, Marcus.

[00:36:38] Sorry, Brittany.

[00:36:38] It's a big put a cork in it for me.

[00:36:42] Brandon?

[00:36:43] Brandon, what do you think?

[00:36:44] It's a big pour it up for me.

[00:36:45] I freaking loved it.

[00:36:47] This is a tough movie to explain because...

[00:36:49] It's so hard to explain.

[00:36:50] It is so reliant on seeing these two fall in love.

[00:36:55] They have such great chemistry, and I'm just having so much fun watching them go on these

[00:37:00] dates.

[00:37:01] So is this movie groundbreaking?

[00:37:03] No.

[00:37:04] Is this movie a really good Hallmark Christmas movie?

[00:37:07] Yeah, it is.

[00:37:08] I don't know what Lifetime's doing with this movie.

[00:37:12] Just stay in your lane, man.

[00:37:14] This is a Hallmark Christmas movie.

[00:37:16] It is charming.

[00:37:19] And as far as your standard Hallmark Christmas movie, it's one of my favorites of the year.

[00:37:26] I love this movie.

[00:37:28] Wow.

[00:37:28] I thought it was an absolute blast.

[00:37:29] And I really liked the fake advice column angle.

[00:37:35] I thought that was really great.

[00:37:37] So fun.

[00:37:38] So fun.

[00:37:39] I agree.

[00:37:39] So, yeah, Dan, the thing that you're not getting, the plot is very simple and very basic and

[00:37:46] also kind of dated.

[00:37:47] It is a 2013 Hallmark plot, like a throwback.

[00:37:54] But the chemistry is so great.

[00:37:56] And the movie itself is well done.

[00:37:59] It looks good.

[00:38:01] There's no wardrobe or makeup stuff.

[00:38:04] It's well done.

[00:38:06] It's a well done Christmas movie.

[00:38:09] I agree with Brandt.

[00:38:10] It should have been on Hallmark.

[00:38:11] It had a Hallmark feel to it.

[00:38:13] And it looked like a Hallmark movie, like of the current iteration, you know, the more

[00:38:18] expensive movie look.

[00:38:21] And the stars are Hallmark people.

[00:38:23] So, you know, I know Marcus does Lifetime Killer ones.

[00:38:27] But, you know, Brit Brit is on Hallmark all the time.

[00:38:32] Right?

[00:38:32] Yeah.

[00:38:33] So I was surprised that this was on Lifetime.

[00:38:36] I think it was just, you know, Hallmark passed and then Lifetime said, we'll take it.

[00:38:40] But I think Hallmark made a mistake.

[00:38:42] Hallmark missed out.

[00:38:43] It would have been one of the top of the year.

[00:38:46] They could have gotten some of their...

[00:38:49] One of the top of the year?

[00:38:50] Are we being serious?

[00:38:51] Really?

[00:38:52] Yeah.

[00:38:52] Yeah.

[00:38:52] I like this better than Holiday Junkie.

[00:38:54] I mean, this was probably like my favorite Lifetime offering this year.

[00:38:57] It's definitely my favorite Lifetime Christmas movie of the year.

[00:39:00] Yeah.

[00:39:00] Absolutely.

[00:39:01] And I would put it in my top 10 overall.

[00:39:04] I just thought it was an absolute...

[00:39:06] Top 10 overall, including Netflix.

[00:39:08] It was a charm bomb.

[00:39:09] A charm bomb.

[00:39:11] Yeah.

[00:39:11] Man, I just feel like I need to have an opinion on this movie now.

[00:39:14] I guess I need to watch it.

[00:39:15] I mean, you should check it out.

[00:39:16] I would check it out.

[00:39:17] If you have, you know, some downtime...

[00:39:20] You know me.

[00:39:21] ...during the holidays, it's a good one to put on.

[00:39:23] The thing I do on my 10-day break, Patrick, is fire up the TV Christmas movies.

[00:39:28] I know.

[00:39:28] I think you should know that by now.

[00:39:30] He loves it.

[00:39:30] I just, man, can't get enough.

[00:39:32] And I'm just outside the window.

[00:39:34] Dad, light the moment.

[00:39:35] Yeah.

[00:39:36] Banging on pots and pans.

[00:39:38] It is New Year's Eve.

[00:39:39] I'm allowed to do that, I found out.

[00:39:40] Apparently.

[00:39:41] Yeah.

[00:39:41] Only after midnight, though.

[00:39:42] Only after midnight.

[00:39:43] You guys, that's a tradition in my family.

[00:39:45] I think it's a Latino thing.

[00:39:47] Sure.

[00:39:47] You say so.

[00:39:48] I've never heard of it.

[00:39:49] Oh, then I won't take it.

[00:39:50] No.

[00:39:50] I've been told I'm not allowed to take that anymore.

[00:39:51] No, you're good.

[00:39:52] Okay, I can take it.

[00:39:53] Hey, you got permission.

[00:39:54] Look at that.

[00:39:55] Yeah.

[00:39:56] And let me tell you, the kids love banging pots.

[00:39:58] You say, we're going to go outside and bang pots and pans.

[00:40:00] And they're like, for what?

[00:40:01] You're like, because it's New Year's.

[00:40:02] We're welcoming the New Year.

[00:40:17] No, don't worry about that.

[00:40:18] I'm the neighbor.

[00:40:20] Oh, no, you're the neighbor.
