[00:00:01] [SPEAKER_02]: Hi, I'm Bran and I love Lifetime Christmas movies. I'm Patrick Serrano and I'm a Lifetime Movie expert. [00:00:36] [SPEAKER_02]: We're right there. I know we're doing it. Dude Christmas morning this morning when you said four days till Christmas I thought I thought you were gonna lose. I thought that was it. I thought your voice was gone. You were it was losing my mind. Patrick hello happy Saturday before Christmas to you. Are you all ready for Christmas? Do you have all your shopping done and whatnot? Yeah, you know, we just do the nephews now the kids will get presents the adults you know you're on your own. Check your bank account. You know, you might have a Zelle in there.
[00:01:06] [SPEAKER_02]: Check your bank account. You might have a Zelle. Wow. You're getting a Zelle. That is as laid back as it gets for credit. You might get a Zelle. Check your bank account. You might have a Zelle. But if you're just passing around Zelles, like if you're. Yeah. Someone's gonna lose out on that, right? Is there a decided amount of money for the Zelle pass around? Everybody just sends everybody $20 via Zelle. Right. Well, usually my dad sends the most Zelle and then everybody else, you know, if they like you, they'll send you something.
[00:01:35] [SPEAKER_04]: Dad sends and then we'll go from there. Then we'll send very, yes.
[00:01:38] [SPEAKER_04]: Yes. We'll be there.
[00:01:39] [SPEAKER_04]: Exactly.
[00:01:39] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:01:40] [SPEAKER_04]: I love that.
[00:01:41] [SPEAKER_04]: I like that.
[00:01:41] [SPEAKER_02]: Dude, you're getting a Zelle. I think that's great.
[00:01:43] [SPEAKER_02]: That's very exciting.
[00:01:44] [SPEAKER_02]: How have they not tapped into that as any sort of advertising?
[00:01:46] [SPEAKER_02]: That's a great point.
[00:01:47] [SPEAKER_02]: We need to send somebody over there.
[00:01:49] [SPEAKER_02]: Like it's just a, it's a, it's like a party, a Christmas party. It's like, why didn't you give me a gift? And you're like, dude, you're getting a Zelle.
[00:01:55] [SPEAKER_02]: That's really good.
[00:01:56] [SPEAKER_02]: Dadgummit.
[00:01:56] [SPEAKER_02]: Who do we need to get?
[00:01:57] [SPEAKER_02]: What do we do? Like, why are we here?
[00:02:00] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, we need to be in a boardroom somewhere.
[00:02:02] [SPEAKER_01]: Like somewhere pitching the heck out of this.
[00:02:06] [SPEAKER_04]: Just taking a quick gander, as I typically do, to lifetimeoncork.com. You do the most this time of year.
[00:02:13] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, you do.
[00:02:14] [SPEAKER_04]: You're covering everything, including a relatively large batch as of this week of BET Plus movies that came out of nowhere.
[00:02:26] [SPEAKER_04]: If someone is going to watch one BET Plus Christmas movie this weekend, which one should they watch?
[00:02:34] [SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
[00:02:35] [SPEAKER_01]: So there's one based on a Richard Pryor movie that I wasn't familiar with.
[00:02:40] [SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
[00:02:41] [SPEAKER_01]: But I guess it's like a big movie.
[00:02:43] [SPEAKER_01]: It's called Baxter or not Baxter.
[00:02:46] [SPEAKER_04]: Brewster's Millions?
[00:02:47] [SPEAKER_04]: Brewster's Millions.
[00:02:49] [SPEAKER_04]: A classic.
[00:02:50] [SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
[00:02:50] [SPEAKER_01]: Colon, Christmas.
[00:02:52] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[00:02:54] [SPEAKER_01]: Brewster's Millions Christmas.
[00:02:56] [SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
[00:02:57] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, I'm ruining the pitch in the board meeting.
[00:03:01] [SPEAKER_01]: Richard Pryor's daughter is in it.
[00:03:03] [SPEAKER_01]: Wow.
[00:03:04] [SPEAKER_01]: Is it good?
[00:03:06] [SPEAKER_01]: And she's good.
[00:03:07] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[00:03:07] [SPEAKER_01]: And it's good.
[00:03:08] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[00:03:09] [SPEAKER_01]: So basically, it's that whole thing.
[00:03:10] [SPEAKER_01]: You can't get your inheritance until you do the good things.
[00:03:14] [SPEAKER_01]: That's right.
[00:03:15] [SPEAKER_01]: But it's the sister from Family Matters.
[00:03:20] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, Laura?
[00:03:22] [SPEAKER_02]: Kelly Shanine Williams?
[00:03:23] [SPEAKER_02]: Or the other sister?
[00:03:24] [SPEAKER_02]: No, no.
[00:03:25] [SPEAKER_01]: Not the young sisters.
[00:03:27] [SPEAKER_02]: Not Judy.
[00:03:27] [SPEAKER_01]: The auntie.
[00:03:28] [SPEAKER_01]: The auntie.
[00:03:29] [SPEAKER_01]: Not Judy.
[00:03:29] [SPEAKER_01]: Got it.
[00:03:31] [SPEAKER_01]: She's the grandma.
[00:03:32] [SPEAKER_01]: And she's like, you got to provide a home for somebody.
[00:03:36] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh.
[00:03:36] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, Joe Marie Payton.
[00:03:37] [SPEAKER_02]: You're talking about.
[00:03:38] [SPEAKER_02]: We're talking about.
[00:03:39] [SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
[00:03:39] [SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
[00:03:39] [SPEAKER_02]: The mom.
[00:03:40] [SPEAKER_02]: Got it.
[00:03:40] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[00:03:41] [SPEAKER_01]: Not the mom.
[00:03:41] [SPEAKER_01]: The mom's sister.
[00:03:43] [SPEAKER_01]: Rachel.
[00:03:44] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[00:03:45] [SPEAKER_01]: Rachel.
[00:03:45] [SPEAKER_01]: Got it.
[00:03:45] [SPEAKER_03]: You've said yes to everyone.
[00:03:48] [SPEAKER_03]: You said sister.
[00:03:50] [SPEAKER_03]: And then you said.
[00:03:51] [SPEAKER_03]: You have thrown out multiple people and Patrick has said yes to all of them.
[00:03:55] [SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
[00:03:55] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh.
[00:03:56] [SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
[00:03:56] [SPEAKER_01]: That's right.
[00:03:57] [SPEAKER_01]: That's it.
[00:03:58] [SPEAKER_01]: You got it.
[00:03:59] [SPEAKER_01]: That's the ticket.
[00:04:00] [SPEAKER_01]: So she has to provide a home.
[00:04:02] [SPEAKER_01]: She has to provide a kid's wish with no money.
[00:04:06] [SPEAKER_01]: You know, like not a dolly or a rocking chair.
[00:04:11] [SPEAKER_01]: She has to give him like an experience or something.
[00:04:14] [SPEAKER_01]: And then a fine love or whatever.
[00:04:16] [SPEAKER_01]: And it's just really good.
[00:04:18] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[00:04:18] [SPEAKER_01]: It's a little.
[00:04:19] [SPEAKER_01]: It's a little long.
[00:04:19] [SPEAKER_01]: It needs some editing.
[00:04:20] [SPEAKER_01]: Like all the BET ones.
[00:04:22] [SPEAKER_01]: They run it like it's a full movie.
[00:04:24] [SPEAKER_01]: Full length.
[00:04:25] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh.
[00:04:25] [SPEAKER_01]: They're going like an hour 46.
[00:04:27] [SPEAKER_01]: They're going.
[00:04:28] [SPEAKER_01]: They don't count by anyone's rules.
[00:04:29] [SPEAKER_04]: Wow.
[00:04:30] [SPEAKER_04]: So you get to really dive into those characters.
[00:04:31] [SPEAKER_04]: Because at least with Hallmark Plus movies, they've still stuck to them.
[00:04:34] [SPEAKER_04]: Kept it at 84.
[00:04:35] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:04:35] [SPEAKER_04]: They still stuck to it.
[00:04:36] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[00:04:36] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[00:04:36] [SPEAKER_01]: There's no cuts for commercials.
[00:04:39] [SPEAKER_01]: It's like a movie movie.
[00:04:41] [SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
[00:04:41] [SPEAKER_01]: They film them like they're a movie movie.
[00:04:43] [SPEAKER_01]: So yeah.
[00:04:44] [SPEAKER_01]: There's some editing that could be done.
[00:04:45] [SPEAKER_01]: But that would be the best.
[00:04:46] [SPEAKER_02]: Patrick.
[00:04:46] [SPEAKER_02]: I see like podcasters and different like content creators always say like this.
[00:04:52] [SPEAKER_02]: They have this link so they can buy a coffee.
[00:04:54] [SPEAKER_02]: Do you do that?
[00:04:55] [SPEAKER_02]: Where you have like a link where you can just like buy Patrick a coffee.
[00:04:58] [SPEAKER_02]: Do you do that?
[00:04:59] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[00:05:00] [SPEAKER_01]: The coffee.
[00:05:00] [SPEAKER_01]: The K-O-F-I coffee.
[00:05:02] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[00:05:03] [SPEAKER_01]: They spell it weird.
[00:05:05] [SPEAKER_02]: Guys.
[00:05:05] [SPEAKER_02]: No one were like.
[00:05:07] [SPEAKER_02]: Brian is the hardest working man in Christmas podcasting.
[00:05:09] [SPEAKER_02]: I mean he has that title.
[00:05:10] [SPEAKER_02]: There's nothing I can do about that.
[00:05:11] [SPEAKER_02]: But I mean I got two daily shows going on.
[00:05:13] [SPEAKER_02]: He's running a theater in Maryland and he's watching basically every movie and writing
[00:05:20] [SPEAKER_02]: about it.
[00:05:21] [SPEAKER_02]: Go buy this man a coffee.
[00:05:23] [SPEAKER_02]: Like just go do it.
[00:05:24] [SPEAKER_02]: Like it's just.
[00:05:25] [SPEAKER_02]: I like coffee.
[00:05:25] [SPEAKER_02]: You know.
[00:05:26] [SPEAKER_01]: A coffee.
[00:05:26] [SPEAKER_01]: Well I changed mine to wine.
[00:05:29] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[00:05:29] [SPEAKER_01]: So I said buy me a glass of wine.
[00:05:31] [SPEAKER_01]: You know like five bucks.
[00:05:32] [SPEAKER_02]: Buy this man a glass of wine.
[00:05:34] [SPEAKER_01]: A glass of wine is more than five bucks these days.
[00:05:36] [SPEAKER_01]: But I felt it was like rude to ask for like 10.
[00:05:39] [SPEAKER_04]: K-O-F-I dot com slash Patrick Serrano.
[00:05:44] [SPEAKER_02]: That's how you do it.
[00:05:45] [SPEAKER_02]: It's that easy.
[00:05:46] [SPEAKER_02]: If you're listening right now go buy this guy a glass of wine.
[00:05:48] [SPEAKER_02]: I mean he's just.
[00:05:50] [SPEAKER_02]: It's just.
[00:05:50] [SPEAKER_02]: He's just working.
[00:05:51] [SPEAKER_02]: Constantly watching movies.
[00:05:53] [SPEAKER_02]: I can't imagine at 11 at PM starting a movie.
[00:05:56] [SPEAKER_02]: Aaron Shea.
[00:05:56] [SPEAKER_02]: Hi Aaron.
[00:05:57] [SPEAKER_00]: Hey.
[00:05:58] [SPEAKER_00]: At this time of year Deck the Hallmark has a really great naked wine code.
[00:06:02] [SPEAKER_02]: That's true.
[00:06:02] [SPEAKER_00]: So you could get a bottle of wine for $7.
[00:06:05] [SPEAKER_00]: That's true.
[00:06:06] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:06:07] [SPEAKER_02]: Nakedwines.com slash Deck the Hallmark is the best deal we've probably ever offered.
[00:06:10] [SPEAKER_02]: You know what we need.
[00:06:11] [SPEAKER_00]: You could buy Patrick six bottles of wine.
[00:06:13] [SPEAKER_00]: That's right.
[00:06:13] [SPEAKER_00]: For the price of one glass.
[00:06:14] [SPEAKER_01]: You know what I think we're going to do.
[00:06:17] [SPEAKER_01]: I think we've determined that I prefer the Zelle guys.
[00:06:21] [SPEAKER_04]: I was going to say we'll send you some naked wine but maybe we'll just send you the Zelle.
[00:06:25] [SPEAKER_04]: We'll send you the Zelle.
[00:06:26] [SPEAKER_04]: Dude you're getting the Zelle.
[00:06:26] [SPEAKER_04]: You're getting the Zelle.
[00:06:27] [SPEAKER_04]: You're getting the Zelle.
[00:06:28] [SPEAKER_04]: Right.
[00:06:28] [SPEAKER_01]: Right.
[00:06:29] [SPEAKER_01]: No.
[00:06:30] [SPEAKER_01]: I had a wine and a secret Santa at a work party and I was like obviously I'm picking the wine
[00:06:34] [SPEAKER_01]: if I'm picking first.
[00:06:35] [SPEAKER_01]: And then you know it got stolen of course.
[00:06:38] [SPEAKER_02]: Was it a white elephant or a secret Santa?
[00:06:40] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh it was a white elephant.
[00:06:42] [SPEAKER_02]: They can't steal your gift in secret Santa.
[00:06:44] [SPEAKER_02]: That's illegal.
[00:06:45] [SPEAKER_02]: No matter how hard they try.
[00:06:46] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh wait.
[00:06:47] [SPEAKER_01]: Wait a minute.
[00:06:47] [SPEAKER_01]: I think people are pulling one over on me.
[00:06:52] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[00:06:52] [SPEAKER_01]: So you know I've got one.
[00:06:54] [SPEAKER_01]: I've got one covered.
[00:06:55] [SPEAKER_04]: What did you.
[00:06:56] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh so you got it.
[00:06:56] [SPEAKER_04]: You stole it back.
[00:06:58] [SPEAKER_01]: No I didn't.
[00:06:59] [SPEAKER_01]: I just want.
[00:07:00] [SPEAKER_01]: I just wanted to end the story nicely.
[00:07:01] [SPEAKER_01]: I ended up getting like a bunch of like stupid like a coffee mug when a cocoa mix and
[00:07:11] [SPEAKER_01]: I was like God I don't want this.
[00:07:12] [SPEAKER_01]: But that's always how it happens.
[00:07:14] [SPEAKER_01]: You can send that to me.
[00:07:15] [SPEAKER_04]: That sounds nice.
[00:07:16] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:07:17] [SPEAKER_01]: Really?
[00:07:18] [SPEAKER_01]: I love cocoa.
[00:07:19] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh I will.
[00:07:20] [SPEAKER_01]: It's a 12 days of Christmas cocoa tasting.
[00:07:24] [SPEAKER_01]: 12?
[00:07:25] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah that's the number of days brand.
[00:07:27] [SPEAKER_04]: 12 days of Christmas.
[00:07:27] [SPEAKER_04]: Shove off.
[00:07:28] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't need it from you.
[00:07:28] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm having a moment with Patrick.
[00:07:29] [SPEAKER_04]: Okay.
[00:07:29] [SPEAKER_04]: That sounds wonderful.
[00:07:31] [SPEAKER_04]: All right.
[00:07:31] [SPEAKER_01]: I'll send you the box.
[00:07:33] [SPEAKER_01]: It's all just junk.
[00:07:35] [SPEAKER_01]: God it just made me so mad.
[00:07:37] [SPEAKER_01]: I bought a beautiful jade stone to bring you wealth in the new year.
[00:07:41] [SPEAKER_01]: And I charged it with the moon.
[00:07:44] [SPEAKER_01]: Come on guys.
[00:07:45] [SPEAKER_02]: Do you think that someone's at home with their jade stone going I can't believe this
[00:07:51] [SPEAKER_02]: is the junk I got.
[00:07:52] [SPEAKER_02]: I brought hot chocolate 12 different types.
[00:07:55] [SPEAKER_02]: Do you think that's happened?
[00:07:56] [SPEAKER_02]: This is freaking charged with the moon.
[00:07:57] [SPEAKER_02]: What good is that to me?
[00:07:58] [SPEAKER_01]: The girl who got the jade.
[00:08:01] [SPEAKER_01]: She got the jade stone.
[00:08:02] [SPEAKER_01]: She was not happy.
[00:08:06] [SPEAKER_01]: So Kiefer.
[00:08:07] [SPEAKER_01]: Kiefer is my coworker.
[00:08:08] [SPEAKER_01]: Kiefer.
[00:08:09] [SPEAKER_02]: All day long.
[00:08:10] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:08:10] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[00:08:10] [SPEAKER_01]: He took he took the jade.
[00:08:12] [SPEAKER_01]: He traded with her and he was like this is really cool.
[00:08:14] [SPEAKER_01]: I like this present.
[00:08:16] [SPEAKER_01]: And I was like good.
[00:08:17] [SPEAKER_01]: It's a cool present.
[00:08:17] [SPEAKER_01]: It's what I would have wanted.
[00:08:19] [SPEAKER_01]: That's so fun.
[00:08:20] [SPEAKER_01]: I love it.
[00:08:20] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh I just got a Kofi.
[00:08:22] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh my gosh.
[00:08:24] [SPEAKER_01]: Wow.
[00:08:25] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm just telling you.
[00:08:26] [SPEAKER_03]: How about that?
[00:08:26] [SPEAKER_03]: It's the magic.
[00:08:27] [SPEAKER_03]: How about that?
[00:08:27] [SPEAKER_03]: Christmas magic.
[00:08:28] [SPEAKER_03]: Is it enough to buy a new jade?
[00:08:32] [SPEAKER_01]: The jade was like you know $25.
[00:08:36] [SPEAKER_01]: What's it called?
[00:08:37] [SPEAKER_01]: HomeGoods.
[00:08:38] [SPEAKER_01]: HomeGoods.
[00:08:38] [SPEAKER_01]: Got it.
[00:08:38] [SPEAKER_01]: You'll get that.
[00:08:39] [SPEAKER_01]: Sponsored by HomeGoods.
[00:08:40] [SPEAKER_02]: Everybody right now.
[00:08:41] [SPEAKER_02]: K-O-F-I.
[00:08:43] [SPEAKER_02]: It's dot com slash Patrick Sorano.
[00:08:45] [SPEAKER_02]: That's all there is to it.
[00:08:46] [SPEAKER_02]: Come on.
[00:08:46] [SPEAKER_01]: That's all there is to it.
[00:08:47] [SPEAKER_01]: And you can leave a little message too.
[00:08:49] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh wow.
[00:08:50] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:08:50] [SPEAKER_02]: The words of affirmation count.
[00:08:52] [SPEAKER_02]: Joe.
[00:08:54] [SPEAKER_01]: Thanks Kristen.
[00:08:55] [SPEAKER_01]: See Kristen said glass of wine for your service.
[00:08:59] [SPEAKER_01]: Thank you Kristen.
[00:09:00] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh Kristen above and beyond.
[00:09:01] [SPEAKER_01]: Unbelievable.
[00:09:02] [SPEAKER_02]: Above and beyond.
[00:09:02] [SPEAKER_02]: Are we doing a pledge drive or something?
[00:09:05] [SPEAKER_03]: Now if somebody if we get three Kofis by the time we're done then.
[00:09:12] [SPEAKER_04]: That's right.
[00:09:12] [SPEAKER_04]: All right.
[00:09:13] [SPEAKER_04]: Let's do Holiday Junkie.
[00:09:14] [SPEAKER_04]: That's what we're talking about today.
[00:09:15] [SPEAKER_04]: Jennifer Love Junkie.
[00:09:16] [SPEAKER_02]: A drug addict that loves the holidays.
[00:09:17] [SPEAKER_03]: The Jennifer.
[00:09:19] [SPEAKER_04]: I wish.
[00:09:20] [SPEAKER_04]: I wish.
[00:09:21] [SPEAKER_04]: The Jennifer Love Hewitt vehicle acted, directed.
[00:09:26] [SPEAKER_04]: Did she write it?
[00:09:26] [SPEAKER_04]: No.
[00:09:27] [SPEAKER_04]: No.
[00:09:27] [SPEAKER_04]: Anna White wrote it.
[00:09:28] [SPEAKER_04]: But did it all.
[00:09:30] [SPEAKER_04]: She's.
[00:09:31] [SPEAKER_04]: Story by.
[00:09:32] [SPEAKER_04]: Story by.
[00:09:33] [SPEAKER_04]: Yes.
[00:09:34] [SPEAKER_04]: Yes.
[00:09:35] [SPEAKER_04]: I was excited about this one.
[00:09:37] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh me too.
[00:09:38] [SPEAKER_04]: I think this is.
[00:09:39] [SPEAKER_04]: This is it.
[00:09:40] [SPEAKER_04]: So I didn't like.
[00:09:40] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't really know anything about Jennifer Love Hewitt.
[00:09:44] [SPEAKER_04]: Wow.
[00:09:44] [SPEAKER_04]: I know.
[00:09:45] [SPEAKER_04]: I know the name Jennifer Love Hewitt.
[00:09:46] [SPEAKER_02]: I know what you did last summer.
[00:09:47] [SPEAKER_04]: And I just watched.
[00:09:48] [SPEAKER_04]: I know what you did last summer for the first time.
[00:09:51] [SPEAKER_04]: Yay.
[00:09:51] [SPEAKER_04]: This Halloween.
[00:09:52] [SPEAKER_04]: I had a good time.
[00:09:53] [SPEAKER_04]: I had a good time with it.
[00:09:54] [SPEAKER_04]: It's a fun time.
[00:09:54] [SPEAKER_04]: And so I was excited about it.
[00:09:56] [SPEAKER_04]: What are you waiting for?
[00:09:56] [SPEAKER_05]: What are you waiting for?
[00:09:58] [SPEAKER_04]: It's great.
[00:09:59] [SPEAKER_04]: Very good.
[00:10:00] [SPEAKER_04]: Thank you.
[00:10:00] [SPEAKER_04]: Aren't they doing.
[00:10:01] [SPEAKER_04]: Didn't they just sign on for.
[00:10:02] [SPEAKER_04]: The third one?
[00:10:03] [SPEAKER_04]: Not for another one.
[00:10:04] [SPEAKER_04]: Right.
[00:10:05] [SPEAKER_01]: It's been very dramatic with the announcement of the new one.
[00:10:08] [SPEAKER_01]: Did you guys hear all the drama?
[00:10:09] [SPEAKER_01]: Sarah Michelle Gell.
[00:10:10] [SPEAKER_01]: Gellar.
[00:10:11] [SPEAKER_01]: And Jennifer Love Hewitt.
[00:10:12] [SPEAKER_01]: You call her Sarah Michelle Gell.
[00:10:14] [SPEAKER_01]: The Gell.
[00:10:15] [SPEAKER_01]: The Gell.
[00:10:15] [SPEAKER_01]: The Gell in love.
[00:10:17] [SPEAKER_01]: They apparently are like have some bad blood.
[00:10:19] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, really?
[00:10:20] [SPEAKER_01]: It's on the DL.
[00:10:21] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, boy.
[00:10:22] [SPEAKER_01]: Like they're like saying like, oh, no, we're friends.
[00:10:24] [SPEAKER_01]: But like you can tell.
[00:10:25] [SPEAKER_04]: But they did.
[00:10:26] [SPEAKER_04]: They both have officially signed on, right?
[00:10:29] [SPEAKER_01]: Well, Sarah Michelle Gellar.
[00:10:30] [SPEAKER_01]: Interestingly enough, her character died in the first one.
[00:10:33] [SPEAKER_01]: So I don't know how she's coming back, but she's coming back.
[00:10:35] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[00:10:35] [SPEAKER_01]: I was thinking that.
[00:10:36] [SPEAKER_01]: I didn't want to spoil it for anybody.
[00:10:37] [SPEAKER_02]: But also like, yeah.
[00:10:39] [SPEAKER_02]: But I mean, it's never stopped a horror movie before.
[00:10:41] [SPEAKER_02]: I mean, they made a thousand Halloween movies.
[00:10:43] [SPEAKER_02]: And it's like, you know, it's fine.
[00:10:44] [SPEAKER_02]: They just.
[00:10:44] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, it's not good.
[00:10:45] [SPEAKER_04]: And I've seen Scream.
[00:10:47] [SPEAKER_04]: Seven, six, whatever it is.
[00:10:48] [SPEAKER_02]: The last Scream was a joke how many people stayed alive.
[00:10:50] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:10:51] [SPEAKER_02]: Let's do this.
[00:10:52] [SPEAKER_02]: We can do this.
[00:10:53] [SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
[00:10:53] [SPEAKER_02]: The Holiday Junkie.
[00:10:54] [SPEAKER_02]: Take it away, Patrick.
[00:10:55] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, right, right.
[00:10:56] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[00:10:57] [SPEAKER_01]: So, you know, but we were talking about Jennifer Love Hewitt.
[00:10:59] [SPEAKER_01]: And Jennifer Love Hewitt is naturally the draw of this movie, right?
[00:11:04] [SPEAKER_01]: So she's coming in.
[00:11:06] [SPEAKER_01]: She wrote.
[00:11:06] [SPEAKER_01]: She directed.
[00:11:07] [SPEAKER_01]: This is based on her.
[00:11:09] [SPEAKER_01]: She lost her mother, I think, recently.
[00:11:12] [SPEAKER_01]: So this is like a tribute to her mother.
[00:11:14] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, OK.
[00:11:15] [SPEAKER_04]: So the tears.
[00:11:16] [SPEAKER_04]: She didn't have to work very hard.
[00:11:18] [SPEAKER_04]: No, no.
[00:11:18] [SPEAKER_02]: The motivation was easy there.
[00:11:19] [SPEAKER_04]: She cries a lot in this movie.
[00:11:21] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, she does.
[00:11:21] [SPEAKER_04]: And I was very impressed by it.
[00:11:23] [SPEAKER_04]: But now knowing that she was easily able to.
[00:11:26] [SPEAKER_02]: Now that you know her mom just died, you're not impressed by it?
[00:11:29] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm weirdly enough, less so.
[00:11:32] [SPEAKER_04]: You know, it's like when it just happened, you could pull it really, really, really quickly.
[00:11:36] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:11:37] [SPEAKER_04]: But I will say.
[00:11:38] [SPEAKER_01]: Working for your trauma.
[00:11:39] [SPEAKER_04]: I know.
[00:11:39] [SPEAKER_04]: There were multiple scenes where I got a kick out of the fact knowing that she's directing
[00:11:45] [SPEAKER_04]: this movie.
[00:11:45] [SPEAKER_04]: And so I'm in my mind thinking through.
[00:11:49] [SPEAKER_04]: She's giving the direction.
[00:11:50] [SPEAKER_04]: And then she's like, I need three seconds.
[00:11:52] [SPEAKER_04]: Then she starts crying.
[00:11:54] [SPEAKER_04]: Action!
[00:11:55] [SPEAKER_04]: And so that happens multiple times in this movie where the scene just kind of starts and she's
[00:11:59] [SPEAKER_04]: crying already.
[00:12:00] [SPEAKER_04]: And so thinking through, how do you direct yourself and the crew right as you're about
[00:12:06] [SPEAKER_04]: to cry?
[00:12:06] [SPEAKER_04]: With that.
[00:12:07] [SPEAKER_04]: So there's a lot going on.
[00:12:08] [SPEAKER_04]: Lots of juggling going on by Jennifer Love, which is very, very impressive.
[00:12:12] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm back to being very impressed.
[00:12:13] [SPEAKER_04]: OK, good.
[00:12:14] [SPEAKER_04]: But I came all the way.
[00:12:16] [SPEAKER_04]: And the guy in this movie is her real life husband.
[00:12:19] [SPEAKER_04]: That's correct.
[00:12:20] [SPEAKER_01]: Her real life husband.
[00:12:21] [SPEAKER_01]: I think her kids are in a family affair or something like, yeah, she's got she really
[00:12:26] [SPEAKER_01]: did the whole thing.
[00:12:28] [SPEAKER_01]: And just one more thing about the crying.
[00:12:30] [SPEAKER_01]: So, Dan, you didn't see the movie.
[00:12:33] [SPEAKER_01]: Nope.
[00:12:33] [SPEAKER_01]: So you don't know how pretty her crying is.
[00:12:36] [SPEAKER_01]: But think, you know, Claire Danes crying, right?
[00:12:39] [SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
[00:12:39] [SPEAKER_01]: The ugliest crier of all time.
[00:12:42] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[00:12:42] [SPEAKER_01]: It's the complete opposite of that.
[00:12:46] [SPEAKER_01]: Think no lines on the face.
[00:12:48] [SPEAKER_01]: Beautiful tears.
[00:12:50] [SPEAKER_01]: Just symmetrical.
[00:12:52] [SPEAKER_04]: She's still able to talk, you know, while she's crying, which is always impressive.
[00:12:57] [SPEAKER_04]: But she's really crying.
[00:12:58] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, she's really crying.
[00:13:00] [SPEAKER_01]: You know, she might make like a frown once to show she's sad.
[00:13:05] [SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, it's really impressive.
[00:13:07] [SPEAKER_02]: I've not seen Jennifer Love You in anything.
[00:13:10] [SPEAKER_02]: I didn't watch the show she was on on CBS.
[00:13:13] [SPEAKER_02]: Ghost Whisperer.
[00:13:15] [SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I think Teenage Me was a big fan.
[00:13:18] [SPEAKER_02]: But I don't.
[00:13:19] [SPEAKER_01]: Of course you were.
[00:13:20] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't like big.
[00:13:21] [SPEAKER_02]: That was a big draw of I know what you did last summer.
[00:13:24] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't I don't know if I've seen her in anything since then.
[00:13:27] [SPEAKER_02]: I might have.
[00:13:29] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't know.
[00:13:29] [SPEAKER_02]: I honestly don't.
[00:13:30] [SPEAKER_02]: But good to hear.
[00:13:31] [SPEAKER_02]: She's a great crier.
[00:13:33] [SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
[00:13:33] [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, you definitely weren't watching Party of Five.
[00:13:36] [SPEAKER_02]: No, no, no.
[00:13:37] [SPEAKER_02]: I did not get to Party of Five.
[00:13:39] [SPEAKER_01]: Right.
[00:13:40] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm like, there's no way.
[00:13:42] [SPEAKER_01]: Me neither.
[00:13:42] [SPEAKER_01]: Really.
[00:13:43] [SPEAKER_01]: Me neither.
[00:13:43] [SPEAKER_01]: Really.
[00:13:44] [SPEAKER_02]: How dare you, Patrick?
[00:13:45] [SPEAKER_02]: But you're right.
[00:13:46] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[00:13:47] [SPEAKER_01]: All right.
[00:13:48] [SPEAKER_01]: So Jennifer Love Hewitt.
[00:13:49] [SPEAKER_01]: She runs a business in this.
[00:13:51] [SPEAKER_01]: It's called The Holiday Junkie.
[00:13:52] [SPEAKER_04]: That's the name of the movie.
[00:13:54] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, wow.
[00:13:55] [SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
[00:13:55] [SPEAKER_01]: It's the name of the movie.
[00:13:56] [SPEAKER_01]: We get it right out of the beginning.
[00:13:58] [SPEAKER_01]: And the mother and her started the business together.
[00:14:04] [SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
[00:14:04] [SPEAKER_04]: And early on in the movie, you know, you don't know that mom's dead because she's calling
[00:14:11] [SPEAKER_04]: her mom and is leaving her a voicemail.
[00:14:15] [SPEAKER_04]: And I felt like I remember from the preview show that her mom was dead.
[00:14:19] [SPEAKER_04]: And so I was like, oh, her mom's not dead yet.
[00:14:21] [SPEAKER_04]: And then it's apparently just a thing she does.
[00:14:24] [SPEAKER_04]: She calls her mom and she leaves voice.
[00:14:26] [SPEAKER_04]: I got you.
[00:14:26] [SPEAKER_04]: Even though she's already passed.
[00:14:27] [SPEAKER_02]: Hey, update.
[00:14:27] [SPEAKER_02]: I have seen Jennifer Love Hewitt a couple of times since I know what you did last summer.
[00:14:31] [SPEAKER_02]: The Tuxedo, Jackie Chan movie.
[00:14:35] [SPEAKER_02]: Garfield, the movie.
[00:14:36] [SPEAKER_02]: I saw her there.
[00:14:37] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, I did.
[00:14:39] [SPEAKER_02]: She's briefly in Tropic Thunder, which I saw and can't hardly wait.
[00:14:43] [SPEAKER_02]: So I've seen all of those things.
[00:14:45] [SPEAKER_02]: So there you go.
[00:14:46] [SPEAKER_02]: She's been around more than I thought.
[00:14:48] [SPEAKER_01]: Well, that's the thing.
[00:14:49] [SPEAKER_01]: She sneaks up on you.
[00:14:50] [SPEAKER_01]: She does.
[00:14:51] [SPEAKER_02]: She sneaks up on you.
[00:14:52] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, she's sneaky.
[00:14:54] [SPEAKER_01]: And in this movie, it's really fun because, you know, her mom's dead, but she keeps talking
[00:14:58] [SPEAKER_01]: about her mom and people assume that the mom's alive the way she's talking.
[00:15:01] [SPEAKER_01]: She's like, oh, me and my mom run this business.
[00:15:02] [SPEAKER_01]: And they're like, oh, that's so fun.
[00:15:04] [SPEAKER_01]: Your mom sounds great.
[00:15:05] [SPEAKER_01]: And she's like, it's almost like she she like sadly like walks away like like foreshadowing
[00:15:14] [SPEAKER_01]: or whatever.
[00:15:15] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[00:15:16] [SPEAKER_01]: And Dan, I have I have to show you this image on my website.
[00:15:20] [SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
[00:15:21] [SPEAKER_01]: So for the first, I don't know, hour of the movie, she's wearing this red suit jacket,
[00:15:28] [SPEAKER_01]: like blouse and red glasses.
[00:15:30] [SPEAKER_01]: And she looks like Linda Blucher Belcher.
[00:15:33] [SPEAKER_01]: Belcher.
[00:15:34] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[00:15:34] [SPEAKER_01]: Linda Belcher from Bob's Burgers.
[00:15:36] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, my God.
[00:15:37] [SPEAKER_03]: Oh, my God.
[00:15:38] [SPEAKER_03]: She does.
[00:15:39] [SPEAKER_01]: She it just was on my mind the whole time.
[00:15:42] [SPEAKER_04]: Like down to the red jacket.
[00:15:45] [SPEAKER_04]: But and the red or the red glasses.
[00:15:47] [SPEAKER_04]: It's crazy.
[00:15:48] [SPEAKER_04]: Shout out to Bob's Burgers.
[00:15:50] [SPEAKER_02]: A fun time.
[00:15:51] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[00:15:52] [SPEAKER_01]: You know, I like I had my moment with Bob's Burgers.
[00:15:56] [SPEAKER_01]: OK, so she has this.
[00:16:00] [SPEAKER_01]: There's a client, a big client, the Parker family.
[00:16:03] [SPEAKER_01]: They have a beautiful house, McMansion, if you will.
[00:16:07] [SPEAKER_01]: And she's going to decorate it, plan the holidays for them.
[00:16:10] [SPEAKER_01]: And it's going to be her big opportunity to get a venture capitalist to, you know, give
[00:16:16] [SPEAKER_01]: her more money.
[00:16:17] [SPEAKER_01]: That's right.
[00:16:17] [SPEAKER_04]: So the holiday junkie doesn't just come in and decorate your house.
[00:16:20] [SPEAKER_04]: They also plan your whole Christmas gathering, basically.
[00:16:25] [SPEAKER_04]: So the Parker family is going out of town.
[00:16:27] [SPEAKER_04]: And when they came back, they wanted the whole house decorated and then like a bunch
[00:16:30] [SPEAKER_04]: of Christmas activities that they could do as a family.
[00:16:32] [SPEAKER_02]: OK, so not like scheduling family Christmas parties.
[00:16:35] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm sure that they could.
[00:16:36] [SPEAKER_04]: But it's like we're going to go sledding or ice skating.
[00:16:40] [SPEAKER_04]: Yes.
[00:16:40] [SPEAKER_04]: I love this.
[00:16:40] [SPEAKER_04]: An itinerary, basically, for your Christmas gatherings.
[00:16:43] [SPEAKER_04]: But she really wants an investor because her dream is to get into the consumer side.
[00:16:50] [SPEAKER_04]: She has all these mock-ups of different like Christmas decorations that she wants to make.
[00:16:56] [SPEAKER_04]: And so her goal is to impress the Parker family, get some money, and then begin to make her
[00:17:02] [SPEAKER_04]: own Christmas decoration.
[00:17:03] [SPEAKER_04]: Standard.
[00:17:04] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[00:17:04] [SPEAKER_01]: Got it.
[00:17:06] [SPEAKER_01]: Yep.
[00:17:06] [SPEAKER_01]: And so when she gets to the house, she has a lesbian best friend.
[00:17:10] [SPEAKER_01]: Just throwing that out there.
[00:17:11] [SPEAKER_01]: OK.
[00:17:11] [SPEAKER_01]: Doesn't really have much influence on the plot, but I thought the lesbian best friend was
[00:17:15] [SPEAKER_01]: funny.
[00:17:15] [SPEAKER_01]: She was a shout out.
[00:17:18] [SPEAKER_01]: And she gets to the house.
[00:17:19] [SPEAKER_01]: And of course, there's a hunky handyman, you know, hammering away.
[00:17:23] [SPEAKER_01]: And she's like, oh, what are you doing here?
[00:17:25] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm supposed to be decorating the house.
[00:17:26] [SPEAKER_01]: And he's like, what are you doing here?
[00:17:27] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm the house manager.
[00:17:28] [SPEAKER_01]: And they have a tense little thing going.
[00:17:32] [SPEAKER_01]: And he's like, your job's fake.
[00:17:34] [SPEAKER_01]: And she's like, your face is fake.
[00:17:37] [SPEAKER_01]: Your face is fake.
[00:17:37] [SPEAKER_04]: You might be wondering, Dan, it wouldn't the house manager's job to be decorating for Christmas.
[00:17:42] [SPEAKER_04]: It sounds like it would be.
[00:17:43] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, yeah.
[00:17:44] [SPEAKER_04]: And it should be.
[00:17:45] [SPEAKER_04]: But he doesn't do Christmas.
[00:17:46] [SPEAKER_04]: He doesn't do Christmas.
[00:17:47] [SPEAKER_04]: You need to know that.
[00:17:48] [SPEAKER_04]: He doesn't do it.
[00:17:49] [SPEAKER_04]: And you might be wondering why.
[00:17:51] [SPEAKER_04]: He doesn't want to talk about it.
[00:17:52] [SPEAKER_02]: You don't want to talk?
[00:17:53] [SPEAKER_02]: No.
[00:17:53] [SPEAKER_02]: For at least another 20 minutes.
[00:17:55] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm sure we'll unpack that later.
[00:17:56] [SPEAKER_02]: And it'll have something to do with a dead relative.
[00:17:58] [SPEAKER_02]: But right now, we're not going to talk about it.
[00:18:00] [SPEAKER_01]: Surprisingly, no.
[00:18:00] [SPEAKER_02]: Wow.
[00:18:01] [SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
[00:18:01] [SPEAKER_02]: I'll leave you on pins and needles.
[00:18:02] [SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
[00:18:03] [SPEAKER_01]: Right?
[00:18:04] [SPEAKER_01]: And Mason is the hunks name.
[00:18:07] [SPEAKER_01]: Like, you know, he's the handyman, masonary.
[00:18:10] [SPEAKER_01]: We're tying it together.
[00:18:11] [SPEAKER_02]: Masonary?
[00:18:12] [SPEAKER_02]: Did you combine masonry and missionary?
[00:18:15] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, right.
[00:18:16] [SPEAKER_01]: There you go.
[00:18:17] [SPEAKER_01]: Masonary.
[00:18:18] [SPEAKER_01]: Masonary.
[00:18:19] [SPEAKER_01]: He's in the masonary position.
[00:18:20] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[00:18:20] [SPEAKER_01]: It's an ingredient.
[00:18:22] [SPEAKER_02]: Hi, I'm a masonary.
[00:18:24] [SPEAKER_02]: I spread the gospel of mason work.
[00:18:26] [SPEAKER_02]: That's right.
[00:18:27] [SPEAKER_01]: Right.
[00:18:27] [SPEAKER_01]: Right.
[00:18:28] [SPEAKER_01]: There you go.
[00:18:30] [SPEAKER_01]: He's not the only person to drag Jennifer Love Hewitt's job.
[00:18:33] [SPEAKER_01]: Like, everyone she meets in this town is like, your job sounds fake.
[00:18:36] [SPEAKER_01]: Your job's made up.
[00:18:37] [SPEAKER_01]: Your job.
[00:18:37] [SPEAKER_01]: They're like so rude.
[00:18:38] [SPEAKER_01]: Like, if some, you know, like, I'm sure you guys have this with your job.
[00:18:42] [SPEAKER_01]: You're like, I'm a podcaster.
[00:18:43] [SPEAKER_01]: And they're like, what does that mean?
[00:18:45] [SPEAKER_01]: Or what do you mean?
[00:18:46] [SPEAKER_01]: Your job's fake.
[00:18:47] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[00:18:48] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:18:48] [SPEAKER_04]: The difference between us and love, though, in this, I call our love person, is we try
[00:18:54] [SPEAKER_04]: to get ahead of it.
[00:18:55] [SPEAKER_04]: We do.
[00:18:56] [SPEAKER_04]: We always go like, we're podcasters.
[00:18:57] [SPEAKER_04]: It's not a real job.
[00:18:58] [SPEAKER_02]: We say the thing first.
[00:19:00] [SPEAKER_02]: I never say I watch Christmas movies.
[00:19:02] [SPEAKER_02]: I say I run a podcast network.
[00:19:04] [SPEAKER_02]: It's weird.
[00:19:05] [SPEAKER_02]: It's silly.
[00:19:06] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:19:06] [SPEAKER_02]: We try to get ahead of it.
[00:19:07] [SPEAKER_02]: I always do my best.
[00:19:07] [SPEAKER_04]: Because we know what people are thinking.
[00:19:08] [SPEAKER_04]: We understand.
[00:19:09] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:19:09] [SPEAKER_02]: Because they're immediately going to go, I like podcasts.
[00:19:13] [SPEAKER_02]: What kind of podcast do you do?
[00:19:14] [SPEAKER_02]: And that's where it gets really silly.
[00:19:16] [SPEAKER_02]: Because if I was like, you know, running a podcast network with a bunch of true crimes
[00:19:20] [SPEAKER_02]: on there, it would be like true crime.
[00:19:22] [SPEAKER_02]: And then the conversation's over or they want to tell me about their true crime.
[00:19:24] [SPEAKER_02]: But as soon as I'm like, oh, it's TV Christmas movies mainly, there's just no recovering.
[00:19:29] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:19:29] [SPEAKER_02]: You don't, there's no recovering.
[00:19:31] [SPEAKER_02]: You just, you're down a path at that point.
[00:19:33] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[00:19:33] [SPEAKER_02]: So, you know, we try to get up in front of it.
[00:19:35] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:19:35] [SPEAKER_02]: But love does not.
[00:19:36] [SPEAKER_02]: No.
[00:19:36] [SPEAKER_01]: Well, yeah.
[00:19:37] [SPEAKER_01]: She needs you guys as you guys should become weird job coaches.
[00:19:41] [SPEAKER_01]: True.
[00:19:41] [SPEAKER_01]: And then coach people with weird jobs, how to approach people at holiday parties.
[00:19:45] [SPEAKER_01]: Dude, you're getting zil.
[00:19:50] [SPEAKER_01]: It works so well.
[00:19:51] [SPEAKER_01]: It really does.
[00:19:52] [SPEAKER_03]: It works so well.
[00:19:53] [SPEAKER_01]: Or you could say it works so zil.
[00:19:55] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, my God.
[00:19:56] [SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
[00:19:57] [SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
[00:19:57] [SPEAKER_03]: All right.
[00:19:58] [SPEAKER_03]: We're having fun.
[00:19:59] [SPEAKER_01]: All right.
[00:19:59] [SPEAKER_01]: All right.
[00:20:00] [SPEAKER_01]: So.
[00:20:01] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm lonely.
[00:20:03] [SPEAKER_01]: No, no, no.
[00:20:04] [SPEAKER_01]: Not I'm lonely.
[00:20:05] [SPEAKER_03]: I can always get a laugh out of Patrick with it.
[00:20:07] [SPEAKER_02]: As soon as Patrick heard that wasn't a song, he couldn't handle it.
[00:20:11] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, I love it.
[00:20:12] [SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
[00:20:12] [SPEAKER_02]: Sorry.
[00:20:12] [SPEAKER_03]: Sorry.
[00:20:13] [SPEAKER_03]: We're having fun.
[00:20:14] [SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
[00:20:15] [SPEAKER_01]: So they work together, but not together well.
[00:20:18] [SPEAKER_01]: You know, they're like getting a Christmas tree.
[00:20:21] [SPEAKER_01]: The vendor cancels.
[00:20:22] [SPEAKER_01]: Like things are happening.
[00:20:23] [SPEAKER_01]: Right.
[00:20:24] [SPEAKER_01]: And Mason has a friend in high school who like he's from the town.
[00:20:30] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[00:20:30] [SPEAKER_01]: So they're townies.
[00:20:31] [SPEAKER_01]: Townies.
[00:20:32] [SPEAKER_01]: They're townies.
[00:20:33] [SPEAKER_01]: And these friends are not pivotal to the plot.
[00:20:36] [SPEAKER_01]: But I thought this actor was notable.
[00:20:39] [SPEAKER_01]: Greg Grunberg.
[00:20:40] [SPEAKER_01]: Do you guys remember Greg?
[00:20:41] [SPEAKER_01]: He's been on our podcast before.
[00:20:43] [SPEAKER_01]: We know Greg.
[00:20:43] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[00:20:43] [SPEAKER_02]: He's been on our show.
[00:20:44] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[00:20:45] [SPEAKER_01]: Friend of the show, Greg.
[00:20:46] [SPEAKER_01]: You're friends.
[00:20:46] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:20:47] [SPEAKER_02]: Friend of the show, Greg.
[00:20:48] [SPEAKER_04]: Of course.
[00:20:49] [SPEAKER_04]: And Greg's job in this movie is to just be silly and laugh.
[00:20:54] [SPEAKER_04]: That's basically his whole gig.
[00:20:56] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[00:20:57] [SPEAKER_01]: My picture of him on the blog is just him laughing.
[00:20:59] [SPEAKER_04]: I think he's laughing in every scene that he's in, even in a scene that's coming up,
[00:21:05] [SPEAKER_04]: which is anything but funny.
[00:21:06] [SPEAKER_04]: He still finds a way to laugh.
[00:21:09] [SPEAKER_04]: So shout out to Greg.
[00:21:09] [SPEAKER_04]: Right.
[00:21:10] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[00:21:11] [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, well, he's always been like on.
[00:21:14] [SPEAKER_01]: He's like a Where's Waldo of like TV and film.
[00:21:17] [SPEAKER_01]: You know?
[00:21:17] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[00:21:17] [SPEAKER_01]: Heroes.
[00:21:18] [SPEAKER_02]: Star Wars.
[00:21:20] [SPEAKER_02]: Lifetime.
[00:21:20] [SPEAKER_02]: He's all over the map.
[00:21:21] [SPEAKER_01]: See, you missed my gateway.
[00:21:24] [SPEAKER_01]: Felicity.
[00:21:25] [SPEAKER_01]: He was in Felicity.
[00:21:25] [SPEAKER_01]: Felicity.
[00:21:26] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:21:27] [SPEAKER_02]: I said Gateway Grunberg was Felicity.
[00:21:28] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, I saw Gateway Grunberg live.
[00:21:29] [SPEAKER_02]: Really good show.
[00:21:31] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, yeah.
[00:21:31] [SPEAKER_02]: Right, right.
[00:21:31] [SPEAKER_02]: They opened for townie masonry.
[00:21:32] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:21:33] [SPEAKER_02]: Masonary.
[00:21:34] [SPEAKER_02]: Sorry.
[00:21:34] [SPEAKER_02]: Dang it.
[00:21:34] [SPEAKER_01]: But he doesn't really do these Christmassy movies.
[00:21:36] [SPEAKER_01]: So I'm like, he must be like a personal friend of Jennifer Love Hewitt's.
[00:21:40] [SPEAKER_01]: And she's like, hey, you're funny.
[00:21:42] [SPEAKER_01]: Can you be in this movie, please?
[00:21:44] [SPEAKER_01]: I got a lot of dead mom stuff in this.
[00:21:46] [SPEAKER_01]: I need you to like punch it up.
[00:21:47] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that's right.
[00:21:48] [SPEAKER_04]: I think he is a fan of the genre, though.
[00:21:50] [SPEAKER_04]: That's right.
[00:21:51] [SPEAKER_04]: So I think there's a, yeah.
[00:21:52] [SPEAKER_04]: If the opportunity came knocking, I wasn't, I was surprised to see him.
[00:21:56] [SPEAKER_04]: And then I wasn't surprised.
[00:21:56] [SPEAKER_02]: He reviewed a movie with us.
[00:21:58] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:21:58] [SPEAKER_02]: That's a good time.
[00:21:59] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:21:59] [SPEAKER_02]: Wasn't even a Christmas.
[00:22:00] [SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
[00:22:00] [SPEAKER_01]: Well, you know, dream come true.
[00:22:02] [SPEAKER_01]: Then he gets his, he gets his Christmas movie check.
[00:22:04] [SPEAKER_01]: And, you know, he's in the, the one of the season, the Jennifer Love Hewitt one.
[00:22:08] [SPEAKER_04]: That's right.
[00:22:08] [SPEAKER_04]: Big deal.
[00:22:09] [SPEAKER_01]: We love it.
[00:22:11] [SPEAKER_04]: Prestige.
[00:22:12] [SPEAKER_01]: So Jennifer Love Hewitt, Hewitt meets these high school friends.
[00:22:15] [SPEAKER_01]: They are making fun of Mason and talking about a time when he peed his pants.
[00:22:21] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
[00:22:21] [SPEAKER_05]: Okay.
[00:22:22] [SPEAKER_01]: This guy peed his pants at school.
[00:22:24] [SPEAKER_01]: And it was so funny.
[00:22:25] [SPEAKER_01]: And that made me think about like, everyone knows the kid that peed their pants at school.
[00:22:30] [SPEAKER_01]: Right.
[00:22:30] [SPEAKER_01]: Sure.
[00:22:30] [SPEAKER_01]: Can you guys like think like to your school experience and like you vividly have a memory
[00:22:36] [SPEAKER_01]: of someone peeing their pants?
[00:22:38] [SPEAKER_02]: No.
[00:22:39] [SPEAKER_02]: No.
[00:22:39] [SPEAKER_02]: No.
[00:22:40] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm sorry.
[00:22:41] [SPEAKER_01]: It's just me.
[00:22:41] [SPEAKER_01]: I can't say the name, but it was one girl.
[00:22:44] [SPEAKER_01]: She, she, she, she, I can't say her name.
[00:22:48] [SPEAKER_01]: It's inappropriate.
[00:22:49] [SPEAKER_01]: Candace.
[00:22:49] [SPEAKER_01]: The name is inappropriate.
[00:22:52] [SPEAKER_01]: Well, it's, I don't want to call them out.
[00:22:54] [SPEAKER_01]: You know, we'll just call them.
[00:22:55] [SPEAKER_01]: We'll just call them Jessica Lounge.
[00:23:02] [SPEAKER_01]: Jessica Lounge.
[00:23:03] [SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
[00:23:03] [SPEAKER_01]: Jessica Lounge.
[00:23:04] [SPEAKER_01]: My personal friend.
[00:23:07] [SPEAKER_01]: In math class, she's like raising her hand and the teacher's like, you cannot go to the
[00:23:12] [SPEAKER_01]: bathroom.
[00:23:13] [SPEAKER_01]: We are like doing this, whatever.
[00:23:15] [SPEAKER_01]: And she's like, okay.
[00:23:16] [SPEAKER_01]: And she's like really, really waiting.
[00:23:17] [SPEAKER_01]: And then she's like, raise her hand.
[00:23:19] [SPEAKER_01]: He's like, you cannot go.
[00:23:20] [SPEAKER_01]: We're doing this thing.
[00:23:22] [SPEAKER_01]: And she like, like couldn't hold it.
[00:23:24] [SPEAKER_01]: And then she just like peed and everybody in the classroom was like, oh my God.
[00:23:28] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh my God.
[00:23:29] [SPEAKER_01]: That's good thing.
[00:23:31] [SPEAKER_01]: And you know, like, then it's like, well, she should have let her go to the bathroom.
[00:23:35] [SPEAKER_01]: That teacher.
[00:23:35] [SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
[00:23:36] [SPEAKER_02]: That's a bad, you could sue that teacher.
[00:23:38] [SPEAKER_01]: Right.
[00:23:39] [SPEAKER_01]: How old was Jessica Lounge?
[00:23:41] [SPEAKER_01]: That was probably sixth grade.
[00:23:43] [SPEAKER_01]: Sixth grade.
[00:23:44] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh my God.
[00:23:45] [SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
[00:23:46] [SPEAKER_01]: No, that's what I'm saying.
[00:23:48] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[00:23:48] [SPEAKER_01]: That's what I'm saying.
[00:23:49] [SPEAKER_02]: The number one rule of teaching middle school is you.
[00:23:53] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:23:54] [SPEAKER_02]: We'll just stop there.
[00:23:55] [SPEAKER_02]: That's the number.
[00:23:55] [SPEAKER_02]: Like you have to let her go to the bathroom.
[00:23:57] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:23:57] [SPEAKER_02]: Like you just can't do that stuff.
[00:24:00] [SPEAKER_01]: It was bad.
[00:24:01] [SPEAKER_01]: It was bad.
[00:24:01] [SPEAKER_01]: So, so yes, because also in the story that they're telling, uh, uh, Mason pees his pants
[00:24:06] [SPEAKER_01]: in high school.
[00:24:07] [SPEAKER_01]: He's in high school.
[00:24:07] [SPEAKER_01]: He's not like a little kid.
[00:24:08] [SPEAKER_01]: So these are like grownups, like peeing their pants, you know, would have had a memory,
[00:24:12] [SPEAKER_02]: but after potty training two boys, it's like, if you say pee their pants, I just think
[00:24:16] [SPEAKER_02]: of my kid, you know, at three and a half at the trampoline park.
[00:24:20] [SPEAKER_02]: I got a lot of, I think he's potty trained, but he didn't want to stop jumping.
[00:24:25] [SPEAKER_02]: You know what I mean?
[00:24:26] [SPEAKER_02]: That's the, those are the stories that I have.
[00:24:28] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:24:28] [SPEAKER_02]: You know, it's the PTSD of keeping a change of clothes in the car till they were six.
[00:24:31] [SPEAKER_04]: You gotta tell the worker my kid peed all over the trampoline.
[00:24:34] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, you do that.
[00:24:35] [SPEAKER_02]: Right.
[00:24:36] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, you told him.
[00:24:37] [SPEAKER_04]: Wow.
[00:24:38] [SPEAKER_02]: I just say, jump away, man.
[00:24:40] [SPEAKER_02]: Jump away.
[00:24:41] [SPEAKER_02]: What's done is done.
[00:24:42] [SPEAKER_02]: Swing away.
[00:24:43] [SPEAKER_02]: Swing away.
[00:24:44] [SPEAKER_01]: But yes, in the middle of all this pee pee talk, imagine, imagine us, we're talking about
[00:24:48] [SPEAKER_01]: all these funny things.
[00:24:49] [SPEAKER_01]: And then all of a sudden Jennifer loves you.
[00:24:51] [SPEAKER_01]: It's like, my mom died.
[00:24:52] [SPEAKER_01]: And then she runs away.
[00:24:53] [SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
[00:24:53] [SPEAKER_01]: She runs off.
[00:24:54] [SPEAKER_01]: So that's how we get it out.
[00:24:56] [SPEAKER_01]: Wow.
[00:24:56] [SPEAKER_01]: Finally.
[00:24:57] [SPEAKER_01]: That's the big reveal.
[00:24:58] [SPEAKER_04]: That is the big reveal.
[00:24:59] [SPEAKER_04]: And it's also the big time for the break.
[00:25:01] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't know.
[00:25:02] [SPEAKER_04]: Let's take a quick break.
[00:25:03] [SPEAKER_04]: We'll come back.
[00:25:03] [SPEAKER_04]: We'll get to the rest of the holiday junkie here on.
[00:25:07] [SPEAKER_04]: Deck the Hallmark.
[00:25:16] [SPEAKER_04]: Welcome back, everybody.
[00:25:19] [SPEAKER_04]: It was a good place.
[00:25:20] [SPEAKER_01]: It was a good place.
[00:25:21] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm ready.
[00:25:22] [SPEAKER_01]: For my Kofi update.
[00:25:24] [SPEAKER_01]: We hit the goal.
[00:25:27] [SPEAKER_01]: We hit three.
[00:25:28] Wow.
[00:25:29] [SPEAKER_01]: Wow.
[00:25:30] [SPEAKER_01]: Unbelievable.
[00:25:32] [SPEAKER_01]: Holly G, of course.
[00:25:33] [SPEAKER_01]: Holly G.
[00:25:34] [SPEAKER_01]: Holly G.
[00:25:34] [SPEAKER_01]: Holly G does not need to buy me anything because we always just hang out and drink more stronger
[00:25:40] [SPEAKER_01]: things than wine together.
[00:25:41] [SPEAKER_01]: More strong.
[00:25:42] [SPEAKER_01]: More stronger.
[00:25:43] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[00:25:44] [SPEAKER_01]: She says, big hugs.
[00:25:45] [SPEAKER_01]: Three exclamation marks, which means she really means it.
[00:25:48] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[00:25:49] [SPEAKER_01]: And then Julie C.
[00:25:51] [SPEAKER_01]: Says, cheers.
[00:25:52] [SPEAKER_01]: Exclamation mark.
[00:25:53] [SPEAKER_01]: Two glasses of wine.
[00:25:54] [SPEAKER_01]: Wow.
[00:25:54] [SPEAKER_01]: Wow.
[00:25:55] [SPEAKER_01]: Which is incredible.
[00:25:57] [SPEAKER_01]: And then somebody anonymously bought one.
[00:26:01] [SPEAKER_01]: Anonymously.
[00:26:01] [SPEAKER_02]: There it is.
[00:26:02] [SPEAKER_02]: There's the one.
[00:26:03] [SPEAKER_01]: So you're up to four.
[00:26:04] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, my gosh.
[00:26:05] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm already slurring my words.
[00:26:07] [SPEAKER_01]: It's so many glasses of wine.
[00:26:08] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, my gosh.
[00:26:09] [SPEAKER_01]: Christmas is starting early.
[00:26:10] [SPEAKER_01]: It is six in the morning.
[00:26:11] [SPEAKER_01]: We didn't mention I'm also drinking the glasses of wine in real time.
[00:26:14] [SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
[00:26:15] [SPEAKER_01]: As we're going through the podcast.
[00:26:17] [SPEAKER_04]: Kofi's a miracle website.
[00:26:18] [SPEAKER_04]: They just kind of pop out of the screen.
[00:26:20] [SPEAKER_04]: It's out of the screen.
[00:26:21] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:26:21] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:26:21] [SPEAKER_01]: If you want to hear me actually do that, go back in the archives.
[00:26:25] [SPEAKER_01]: That's how I used to record the podcast.
[00:26:27] [SPEAKER_01]: You used to drink with actual wine.
[00:26:29] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[00:26:29] [SPEAKER_02]: That's right.
[00:26:29] [SPEAKER_01]: Every episode.
[00:26:31] [SPEAKER_01]: We record like four episodes back to back.
[00:26:34] [SPEAKER_02]: And you start drinking at the first episode?
[00:26:36] [SPEAKER_01]: Start drinking at the first episode.
[00:26:37] [SPEAKER_01]: And then your next guest will bring a bottle of wine.
[00:26:39] [SPEAKER_01]: And who knows what you're saying in episode four.
[00:26:42] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[00:26:42] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[00:26:43] [SPEAKER_02]: Fantastic.
[00:26:43] [SPEAKER_01]: I would have to listen back and be like, okay, let's make sure I didn't say anything
[00:26:49] [SPEAKER_01]: totally terrible.
[00:26:50] [SPEAKER_01]: Wow.
[00:26:50] [SPEAKER_01]: Because I would.
[00:26:52] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[00:26:53] [SPEAKER_01]: Those are the days.
[00:26:53] [SPEAKER_01]: If things get away from you.
[00:26:54] [SPEAKER_02]: It was the Wild West back then.
[00:26:55] [SPEAKER_02]: It really was.
[00:26:56] [SPEAKER_02]: Those are the 20 teens, you know?
[00:26:57] [SPEAKER_01]: It was 2016, you know?
[00:26:59] [SPEAKER_01]: And the best part about that would be like, I would be like listening to the conversation
[00:27:03] [SPEAKER_01]: and then I would say what I was thinking I wanted to say.
[00:27:06] [SPEAKER_01]: And I'm like, yeah, I said what I wanted to say.
[00:27:08] [SPEAKER_04]: You know what is funny about that is occasionally I'll go back to older episodes and I'll hear
[00:27:13] [SPEAKER_04]: like Dan say something and then I will think about a joke that I want to respond
[00:27:18] [SPEAKER_04]: with.
[00:27:19] [SPEAKER_04]: And then I make that joke on the air.
[00:27:20] [SPEAKER_04]: And I'm like, oh, wow.
[00:27:22] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm so consistent.
[00:27:24] [SPEAKER_04]: Consistent.
[00:27:25] [SPEAKER_04]: Yes.
[00:27:26] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:27:26] [SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
[00:27:27] [SPEAKER_01]: So if you were wondering if we're narcissists before, we are totally listening to ourselves
[00:27:31] [SPEAKER_01]: on tape.
[00:27:33] [SPEAKER_01]: That's right.
[00:27:33] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm laughing at my own jokes.
[00:27:35] [SPEAKER_02]: I have all the time in the world.
[00:27:36] [SPEAKER_02]: There's nothing I can do.
[00:27:37] [SPEAKER_01]: Hey, you know, it's fine.
[00:27:38] [SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
[00:27:38] [SPEAKER_01]: So back to Jennifer Love Hewitt, our girl.
[00:27:41] [SPEAKER_01]: She gets to decorating.
[00:27:44] [SPEAKER_01]: She wakes up and Mason is shirtless.
[00:27:47] [SPEAKER_01]: And he's like, oh, just walking around.
[00:27:50] [SPEAKER_01]: And she's like, oh, you're naked.
[00:27:53] [SPEAKER_01]: He's like, I've just had my shirt off.
[00:27:55] [SPEAKER_01]: Like, relax.
[00:27:55] [SPEAKER_01]: Relax.
[00:27:56] [SPEAKER_01]: But he like helps her like hang up like more like intricate designs and stuff.
[00:28:00] [SPEAKER_01]: Can I ask a question about shirtless people?
[00:28:02] [SPEAKER_04]: Yes.
[00:28:03] [SPEAKER_04]: Okay.
[00:28:04] [SPEAKER_04]: Well, I just like I haven't been around like this has never happened to me.
[00:28:07] [SPEAKER_04]: Okay.
[00:28:07] [SPEAKER_04]: So I've never like been in a public setting where someone's just randomly shirtless aside
[00:28:12] [SPEAKER_04]: from like a swimming pool or the beach or whatever, where it's acceptable.
[00:28:16] [SPEAKER_04]: That's right.
[00:28:17] [SPEAKER_04]: But like I have to imagine if I do see that, you just kind of roll with it.
[00:28:21] [SPEAKER_04]: Right.
[00:28:22] [SPEAKER_04]: Like if you if you see somebody shirtless, do you do you freak out?
[00:28:28] [SPEAKER_04]: Like like love did like like how she just kind of turned around.
[00:28:31] [SPEAKER_04]: She's like, oh, my gosh.
[00:28:32] [SPEAKER_04]: Like or do you just kind of roll with it?
[00:28:34] [SPEAKER_01]: I think if you're sexually attracted to that, maybe you would.
[00:28:39] [SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
[00:28:39] [SPEAKER_04]: So it's just like an immediate like, oh, wow.
[00:28:42] [SPEAKER_02]: How about I'm not going to be able to concentrate if you don't put your shirt on.
[00:28:45] [SPEAKER_02]: Right.
[00:28:46] [SPEAKER_01]: Right.
[00:28:46] [SPEAKER_01]: But if it's just like, you know, some random like guy and he's just like hot and he takes
[00:28:51] [SPEAKER_01]: the shirt off walking around, you know, like I do around the office.
[00:28:55] [SPEAKER_04]: Well, yeah, yeah, yeah.
[00:28:56] [SPEAKER_04]: It's pretty regular.
[00:28:57] [SPEAKER_01]: Or I'm thinking like in yoga class, like if someone takes their shirt off, like I almost
[00:29:01] [SPEAKER_01]: took my shirt off.
[00:29:02] [SPEAKER_01]: It was so hot the other day in yoga class.
[00:29:04] [SPEAKER_01]: Um, but I don't because I think it's like a privilege that men have that women don't.
[00:29:08] [SPEAKER_01]: So I'm like, if they have to keep their shirts on, then I'm going to keep my shirt.
[00:29:12] [SPEAKER_01]: Wow.
[00:29:12] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:29:13] [SPEAKER_04]: How about.
[00:29:14] [SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
[00:29:15] [SPEAKER_01]: But sometimes guys take their shirts off in yoga class.
[00:29:17] [SPEAKER_01]: And usually if they're a hunky man, I'm like, oh, whoa.
[00:29:20] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, wow.
[00:29:20] [SPEAKER_01]: I can't.
[00:29:21] [SPEAKER_04]: You don't know what to do with it.
[00:29:21] [SPEAKER_04]: It's an instinctual hubba hubba.
[00:29:23] [SPEAKER_04]: That's right.
[00:29:24] [SPEAKER_01]: It is.
[00:29:25] [SPEAKER_01]: It is.
[00:29:25] [SPEAKER_04]: Okay.
[00:29:25] [SPEAKER_04]: Okay.
[00:29:25] [SPEAKER_04]: Great.
[00:29:26] [SPEAKER_04]: All right.
[00:29:26] [SPEAKER_04]: Carry on.
[00:29:28] [SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
[00:29:29] [SPEAKER_01]: Women and gay men ogle shirtless men, too.
[00:29:32] [SPEAKER_01]: So don't worry, guys.
[00:29:33] [SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
[00:29:33] [SPEAKER_01]: Got it.
[00:29:34] [SPEAKER_01]: Good.
[00:29:35] [SPEAKER_01]: Good.
[00:29:38] [SPEAKER_01]: So there's a she finds like a wedding invitation.
[00:29:41] [SPEAKER_01]: This was like confusing to me.
[00:29:42] [SPEAKER_01]: Um, so she finds a wedding invitation for someone named Claire Egan and Mason.
[00:29:46] [SPEAKER_01]: Like it was a wedding from like last year that got called off and she's like, what is this?
[00:29:51] [SPEAKER_01]: Um, so I think that's like the big secret that we're going to be revealing later.
[00:29:54] [SPEAKER_01]: But we just put it, we put it in our back pocket.
[00:29:56] [SPEAKER_01]: Um, the Parker family keeps getting like snowed in to wherever they are.
[00:30:02] [SPEAKER_01]: They're in Colorado.
[00:30:02] [SPEAKER_01]: It's a tough break.
[00:30:03] [SPEAKER_01]: They keep like missing their flight or like their flight gets canceled.
[00:30:06] [SPEAKER_01]: Like they keep it.
[00:30:08] [SPEAKER_01]: So it extends the time that Jennifer LePewitt and Mason are alone together.
[00:30:11] [SPEAKER_01]: Right?
[00:30:13] [SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
[00:30:14] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:30:14] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:30:14] [SPEAKER_02]: It does.
[00:30:15] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:30:15] [SPEAKER_02]: 100% does.
[00:30:16] [SPEAKER_01]: Yep.
[00:30:17] [SPEAKER_01]: Um, so Jennifer LePewitt is starting to have feelings for Mason and her lesbian, her lesbian friends.
[00:30:24] [SPEAKER_01]: Like you need to go for it.
[00:30:25] [SPEAKER_01]: He's hot.
[00:30:26] [SPEAKER_01]: I, I'm a lesbian.
[00:30:28] [SPEAKER_01]: And even I think he's hot.
[00:30:29] [SPEAKER_01]: See, like the thing we were talking, just talking about.
[00:30:31] [SPEAKER_01]: Sure.
[00:30:32] [SPEAKER_01]: There's a cookie swap in town and Jennifer LePewitt accidentally signed the family up.
[00:30:37] [SPEAKER_01]: No, not accidentally.
[00:30:38] [SPEAKER_01]: She did sign the family.
[00:30:39] [SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
[00:30:39] [SPEAKER_01]: Because she thought they would be back by now, but they're not.
[00:30:42] [SPEAKER_01]: They're not.
[00:30:43] [SPEAKER_01]: So now she has to come up with like so many cookies, but lucky for her, Mason is like
[00:30:46] [SPEAKER_01]: a, a, an incredible baker.
[00:30:49] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[00:30:49] [SPEAKER_01]: And, uh, I wrote, she's baking like a mad woman.
[00:30:52] [SPEAKER_01]: And I thought about this today.
[00:30:53] [SPEAKER_01]: Like, why do we say mad woman?
[00:30:54] [SPEAKER_01]: Why don't we say mad man?
[00:30:56] [SPEAKER_01]: Or we say mad hatter?
[00:30:58] [SPEAKER_01]: Why is it mad woman?
[00:30:59] [SPEAKER_02]: What?
[00:31:00] [SPEAKER_02]: I've heard mad man a lot more than mad woman.
[00:31:03] [SPEAKER_01]: Right?
[00:31:03] [SPEAKER_01]: No.
[00:31:03] [SPEAKER_01]: You're like, I'm something like a mad woman.
[00:31:05] [SPEAKER_01]: Like I was driving like a mad woman.
[00:31:07] [SPEAKER_02]: No, I, I heard like a mad man way more.
[00:31:10] [SPEAKER_02]: Really?
[00:31:11] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:31:12] [SPEAKER_01]: Wow.
[00:31:13] [SPEAKER_01]: Let's bake it like a mad man.
[00:31:14] [SPEAKER_02]: I would never say baking like a mad woman.
[00:31:16] [SPEAKER_02]: I would literally never say that.
[00:31:18] [SPEAKER_02]: Really?
[00:31:19] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:31:19] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't know if I've ever heard it, but let's let the people decide.
[00:31:21] [SPEAKER_04]: You can send Patrick a Kofi and then in the, in the little message line, you can let us
[00:31:26] [SPEAKER_02]: know what you've heard it more.
[00:31:27] [SPEAKER_02]: Mad woman or mad man.
[00:31:29] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:31:29] [SPEAKER_01]: I always thought it was mad woman.
[00:31:31] [SPEAKER_01]: I've never heard mad man.
[00:31:32] [SPEAKER_01]: Really?
[00:31:33] [SPEAKER_01]: I've heard nothing but mad.
[00:31:34] [SPEAKER_02]: I've heard nothing but mad man.
[00:31:35] [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, it's a TV show.
[00:31:36] [SPEAKER_02]: Mad man.
[00:31:37] [SPEAKER_02]: Mad man.
[00:31:38] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, you're right.
[00:31:39] [SPEAKER_01]: It is a TV show.
[00:31:40] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:31:40] [SPEAKER_02]: Like it's all, it's a, that's the phrase is mad man, not mad woman in my, like that.
[00:31:46] [SPEAKER_02]: That's how I've always thought of it.
[00:31:48] [SPEAKER_02]: Wow.
[00:31:48] [SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
[00:31:48] [SPEAKER_04]: Listen, Patrick, we're not sexist like you are.
[00:31:50] [SPEAKER_04]: So we, that's right.
[00:31:52] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:31:52] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:31:52] [SPEAKER_04]: It's just tough talking to you sometimes.
[00:31:54] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:31:54] [SPEAKER_04]: It is.
[00:31:55] [SPEAKER_01]: It is.
[00:31:55] [SPEAKER_01]: I know.
[00:31:56] [SPEAKER_01]: I know.
[00:31:56] [SPEAKER_01]: I know.
[00:31:57] [SPEAKER_01]: But this is a learning opportunity for me.
[00:32:00] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[00:32:00] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[00:32:00] [SPEAKER_02]: We're all learning.
[00:32:01] [SPEAKER_02]: Failing forward.
[00:32:02] [SPEAKER_02]: You're failing forward, Patrick.
[00:32:04] [SPEAKER_01]: So, uh, they, they plan to like, uh, expand the business.
[00:32:08] [SPEAKER_01]: They're like, as they're talking and baking, you know, that's when she talks about how
[00:32:12] [SPEAKER_04]: she wants to get into the consumer side.
[00:32:14] [SPEAKER_04]: And he talks about, uh, how he wants kids.
[00:32:17] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:32:18] [SPEAKER_04]: All right.
[00:32:18] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:32:19] [SPEAKER_04]: That's a time to bring it up for sure.
[00:32:20] [SPEAKER_04]: You want to expand your business.
[00:32:21] [SPEAKER_04]: I want to expand my family.
[00:32:23] [SPEAKER_04]: It's like one of those like things.
[00:32:25] [SPEAKER_01]: Right.
[00:32:26] [SPEAKER_01]: And I'm like, not even really, really random.
[00:32:29] [SPEAKER_01]: Um, and also he, uh, still hates Christmas.
[00:32:32] [SPEAKER_01]: Don't forget.
[00:32:33] [SPEAKER_01]: And he wants to dress up at Santa, but he's too skinny to dress up as Santa.
[00:32:36] [SPEAKER_02]: And we have not figured out why he hates Christmas yet.
[00:32:39] [SPEAKER_02]: No, but it's coming.
[00:32:40] [SPEAKER_02]: It's coming.
[00:32:41] [SPEAKER_01]: It's coming.
[00:32:42] [SPEAKER_01]: It's coming.
[00:32:43] [SPEAKER_01]: And, uh, okay.
[00:32:43] [SPEAKER_01]: Here it is.
[00:32:44] [SPEAKER_01]: So we're at, we're at the bar.
[00:32:45] [SPEAKER_01]: We're at the bar.
[00:32:46] [SPEAKER_01]: We made it.
[00:32:47] [SPEAKER_01]: Uh, Greg Grunberg is there at the bar, of course.
[00:32:50] [SPEAKER_01]: And they play this really fun game.
[00:32:53] [SPEAKER_01]: It's, uh, it's called, uh, I guess something with a mozzi stick, you know, like a mozzarella
[00:32:59] [SPEAKER_01]: stick.
[00:33:00] [SPEAKER_01]: There's one mozzarella stick left.
[00:33:02] [SPEAKER_01]: How do you think they're going to decide who gets the mozzi stick?
[00:33:06] [SPEAKER_02]: You got to split it.
[00:33:07] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:33:08] [SPEAKER_02]: You just split the stick.
[00:33:09] [SPEAKER_04]: There's four.
[00:33:10] [SPEAKER_04]: There's four of them.
[00:33:11] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, then it should be two and two.
[00:33:12] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, you think so?
[00:33:13] [SPEAKER_02]: I think if there's four, there's four people, how many, what if they decide how many in this
[00:33:18] [SPEAKER_02]: order of sticks?
[00:33:19] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't know, but they don't want to split the stick.
[00:33:21] [SPEAKER_04]: And so what they decide to do is play a fun game of who has the worst Christmas story.
[00:33:27] [SPEAKER_02]: And that's how we figure out he doesn't like Christmas for a mozzarella stick.
[00:33:32] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[00:33:33] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, we do.
[00:33:34] [SPEAKER_01]: We do.
[00:33:34] [SPEAKER_02]: As soon as mozzarella sticks come to the table, I do instant math on how many I should eat.
[00:33:39] [SPEAKER_02]: And what's great.
[00:33:40] [SPEAKER_02]: Do you guys not do that?
[00:33:41] [SPEAKER_02]: Like four people, eight sticks come to the table.
[00:33:43] [SPEAKER_02]: I, cause I'm going to eat faster than you.
[00:33:45] [SPEAKER_02]: I eat two sticks and I stop immediately.
[00:33:48] [SPEAKER_02]: And then I wait, everybody eats all theirs.
[00:33:50] [SPEAKER_02]: And I'm like, Hey, I've already had my share.
[00:33:52] [SPEAKER_02]: Anybody want any more of these sticks?
[00:33:53] [SPEAKER_02]: And then if it's fair game, then I go back for more.
[00:33:55] [SPEAKER_02]: You're fair with your sticks.
[00:33:56] [SPEAKER_04]: I will say that.
[00:33:57] [SPEAKER_02]: We do it with wings.
[00:33:58] [SPEAKER_02]: We get wings of the office.
[00:33:59] [SPEAKER_02]: I eat my designation left over.
[00:34:01] [SPEAKER_02]: And then I stop.
[00:34:02] [SPEAKER_02]: And then I just eat whatever's left after everybody's finished.
[00:34:04] [SPEAKER_04]: Um, okay.
[00:34:06] [SPEAKER_04]: But he doesn't even win the stick though.
[00:34:08] [SPEAKER_04]: No.
[00:34:09] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:34:09] [SPEAKER_04]: This is the worst.
[00:34:10] [SPEAKER_04]: This seems a tough go of it.
[00:34:12] [SPEAKER_04]: Cause I don't think that it is a thing that real people have ever done.
[00:34:17] [SPEAKER_04]: Like, I don't think this, like, have you ever just gone around in a circle and been like,
[00:34:22] [SPEAKER_04]: what's your worst Christmas memory?
[00:34:25] [SPEAKER_04]: Definitely not.
[00:34:26] [SPEAKER_01]: It was so weird.
[00:34:27] [SPEAKER_04]: Especially like, I don't, she's trying like, so she opens up her mom died last Christmas.
[00:34:33] [SPEAKER_04]: Okay.
[00:34:33] [SPEAKER_04]: Yes.
[00:34:34] [SPEAKER_04]: So she's been dead for a year and she died of cancer.
[00:34:36] [SPEAKER_04]: And you're like, whoa, well, this is, this is tough.
[00:34:39] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:34:39] [SPEAKER_04]: She's crying.
[00:34:40] [SPEAKER_04]: You win.
[00:34:40] [SPEAKER_04]: She's crying.
[00:34:41] [SPEAKER_04]: We're crying.
[00:34:41] [SPEAKER_04]: Everyone's crying.
[00:34:42] [SPEAKER_04]: Um, and he's like, I mean, yeah, I guess you win.
[00:34:45] [SPEAKER_04]: But she like, finally it's like, you have to tell your story.
[00:34:48] [SPEAKER_04]: And so we find out that he was engaged last Christmas to Claire Egan and she called out
[00:34:54] [SPEAKER_04]: and they were going to get married right around Christmas.
[00:34:56] [SPEAKER_04]: Okay.
[00:34:57] [SPEAKER_04]: And she called out the engagement like two days before the wedding.
[00:35:00] [SPEAKER_04]: Cause she wants to travel or something.
[00:35:02] [SPEAKER_01]: She didn't want to, she didn't want to have kids.
[00:35:04] [SPEAKER_04]: She didn't want to have kids.
[00:35:05] [SPEAKER_04]: She didn't want to have kids.
[00:35:05] [SPEAKER_04]: She didn't want to travel.
[00:35:06] [SPEAKER_04]: So that happened the previous Christmas.
[00:35:07] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:35:07] [SPEAKER_04]: So it's fresh.
[00:35:08] [SPEAKER_02]: It's fresh.
[00:35:09] [SPEAKER_02]: So that makes sense why he doesn't want to do Christmas.
[00:35:10] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:35:10] [SPEAKER_04]: So he, that's why he hates Christmas and, uh, but she still wins the mozzarella.
[00:35:15] [SPEAKER_02]: But it's, yeah, it's not the best story, but she wins the stick.
[00:35:18] [SPEAKER_02]: No question about it.
[00:35:19] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:35:19] [SPEAKER_02]: But I mean, how many sticks did each person have?
[00:35:21] [SPEAKER_02]: That's all I'm asking.
[00:35:23] [SPEAKER_01]: We got to figure it out.
[00:35:24] [SPEAKER_01]: But Jennifer Love Hewitt cries beautifully and she eats a mozzarella stick so classily.
[00:35:29] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[00:35:29] [SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
[00:35:30] [SPEAKER_01]: Classily.
[00:35:31] [SPEAKER_01]: She like, she like take, she like looks at you and look at her with that mozzarella stick.
[00:35:35] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[00:35:35] [SPEAKER_01]: She like, like she looks a little bite.
[00:35:37] [SPEAKER_01]: I, I've never seen anybody eat a mozzarella stick so well.
[00:35:41] [SPEAKER_04]: No one looks good eating mozzarella sticks, right?
[00:35:44] [SPEAKER_04]: Like the cheese is all like stringy and it's coming down and gets stuck in your beard.
[00:35:48] [SPEAKER_04]: She doesn't have a beard, but you know what I mean?
[00:35:50] [SPEAKER_02]: I mean, Jennifer Love Hewitt crushing, crushing the stick game.
[00:35:53] [SPEAKER_01]: Like her nails, her nails look amazing.
[00:35:56] [SPEAKER_01]: Her nails did look really good there.
[00:35:57] [SPEAKER_01]: Goodness.
[00:35:58] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm really doing, you know, and that's, that's the difference between, uh, you know,
[00:36:04] [SPEAKER_01]: somebody who's been behind the camera.
[00:36:05] [SPEAKER_01]: Now she's directing, right?
[00:36:06] [SPEAKER_01]: She's, she's paying attention to the detail.
[00:36:08] [SPEAKER_01]: She knows.
[00:36:09] [SPEAKER_01]: That matter.
[00:36:10] [SPEAKER_02]: Well, she's also a veteran of the screen.
[00:36:12] [SPEAKER_02]: I think she's had 30 plus years to practice eating a mozzarella stick on screen.
[00:36:17] [SPEAKER_02]: She knows exactly how, what takes she's going to give, what takes she's going to use.
[00:36:20] [SPEAKER_04]: It took years and years and years of acting for her to figure out the perfect way to eat
[00:36:24] [SPEAKER_04]: a mozzarella stick on screen.
[00:36:25] [SPEAKER_02]: I mean, how many, there's over a hundred ghost whippers, whippers, ghost whippers.
[00:36:28] [SPEAKER_02]: Ghost whippers.
[00:36:29] [SPEAKER_02]: Ghost whippers.
[00:36:29] [SPEAKER_02]: Ghost whippers.
[00:36:29] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm going to kill this ghost.
[00:36:30] [SPEAKER_02]: What those ghosts do to you?
[00:36:30] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm going to let that ghost.
[00:36:31] [SPEAKER_02]: The ghost whisperer.
[00:36:33] [SPEAKER_02]: There's over a hundred episodes of that.
[00:36:36] [SPEAKER_04]: Every episode she ate one mozzarella stick during the ghost whippers show, right?
[00:36:41] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean, I don't know.
[00:36:42] [SPEAKER_04]: I couldn't get into that.
[00:36:43] [SPEAKER_04]: She seemed too comfortable.
[00:36:44] [SPEAKER_04]: I have to imagine she's eaten one on screen.
[00:36:46] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:36:46] [SPEAKER_02]: She's had her fair share of mozzarella sticks.
[00:36:49] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:36:49] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:36:50] [SPEAKER_01]: All right.
[00:36:51] [SPEAKER_01]: So a winter storm comes in again.
[00:36:54] [SPEAKER_03]: No one segues quite like Patrick.
[00:36:56] [SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
[00:36:57] [SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
[00:36:57] [SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
[00:36:57] [SPEAKER_04]: Ghost whippers.
[00:36:58] [SPEAKER_04]: Gotta be honest with you, we talked about the monster all six longer than I anticipated.
[00:37:01] [SPEAKER_04]: You brought it up, Patrick.
[00:37:03] [SPEAKER_04]: Let's move on.
[00:37:03] [SPEAKER_01]: I did bring it up.
[00:37:04] [SPEAKER_01]: I did bring it up.
[00:37:05] [SPEAKER_01]: The family's still stuck in the Rocky Mountains.
[00:37:08] [SPEAKER_01]: Jennifer Love Hewitt is very worried because how are they going to invest if they don't see
[00:37:12] [SPEAKER_01]: all the hard work she's doing?
[00:37:13] [SPEAKER_01]: You know?
[00:37:14] [SPEAKER_01]: Right.
[00:37:14] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, of course.
[00:37:15] [SPEAKER_02]: What a waste.
[00:37:17] [SPEAKER_01]: So they have a lot of extra time on their hands.
[00:37:19] [SPEAKER_01]: And so Mason and Jennifer Love Hewitt go to her city apartment and decorate that.
[00:37:23] [SPEAKER_01]: And she gets out all her mom's decorations and talks about them all.
[00:37:26] [SPEAKER_01]: And, you know, they're talking about Christmas and everything.
[00:37:28] [SPEAKER_01]: And there's a present that her mom was going to give her last Christmas.
[00:37:35] [SPEAKER_01]: And she hasn't opened it.
[00:37:36] [SPEAKER_01]: She's been waiting.
[00:37:37] [SPEAKER_01]: You know, she doesn't want to open it.
[00:37:38] [SPEAKER_01]: It's too sentimental.
[00:37:39] [SPEAKER_04]: Because she realized this is the last gift her mom was ever going to give her.
[00:37:43] [SPEAKER_04]: And so if she opens it, then that's it.
[00:37:44] [SPEAKER_04]: But he encourages her to take that step.
[00:37:47] [SPEAKER_04]: Your mom wanted you to have it.
[00:37:48] [SPEAKER_04]: So you should open it.
[00:37:49] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, open the gift.
[00:37:50] [SPEAKER_04]: And so she does open it.
[00:37:51] [SPEAKER_04]: And it is an ugly Christmas sweater.
[00:37:56] [SPEAKER_01]: Awesome.
[00:37:56] [SPEAKER_01]: Yes, it is.
[00:37:57] [SPEAKER_01]: It is an ugly Christmas sweater.
[00:37:58] [SPEAKER_01]: And she's like, I don't know why she got me this.
[00:38:02] [SPEAKER_01]: We don't do ugly Christmas sweaters.
[00:38:03] [SPEAKER_01]: Like, it wasn't sentimental at all.
[00:38:06] [SPEAKER_02]: Is there a mystery to it that they figure out later?
[00:38:09] [SPEAKER_02]: No.
[00:38:09] [SPEAKER_01]: But it does lead to them finally making out.
[00:38:12] [SPEAKER_04]: They do finally make out.
[00:38:13] [SPEAKER_04]: Okay, great.
[00:38:14] [SPEAKER_01]: Well, because he says, he says, you know, this gift is silly and you put a lot of pressure
[00:38:20] [SPEAKER_01]: on yourself.
[00:38:20] [SPEAKER_01]: But your mom's giving you many gifts in your life.
[00:38:23] [SPEAKER_01]: You know, all the things you've learned from her, all the memories you have together.
[00:38:27] [SPEAKER_01]: And she's so touched by that that they just start sucking face.
[00:38:31] [SPEAKER_01]: Sucking face.
[00:38:32] [SPEAKER_04]: Sucking face.
[00:38:33] [SPEAKER_04]: And I think he spends the night because she wakes up the next morning and she's like,
[00:38:39] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh boy.
[00:38:40] [SPEAKER_04]: Where'd he go?
[00:38:42] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, you didn't see the part, the scene where there's like stairs and like the camera's
[00:38:47] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, I saw it.
[00:38:48] [SPEAKER_01]: I was like, this is a little bit Norman Batesy on us.
[00:38:52] [SPEAKER_01]: Can we like move along?
[00:38:54] [SPEAKER_04]: It's like they spend a lot of time on that.
[00:38:56] [SPEAKER_04]: They like it gets, they're out of focus beyond the stairs.
[00:39:00] [SPEAKER_01]: Beyond the stairs.
[00:39:01] [SPEAKER_01]: And they're like stripping down.
[00:39:03] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm like, what is happening?
[00:39:05] [SPEAKER_01]: Like cut, cut, cut.
[00:39:07] [SPEAKER_04]: This isn't the sex movie that got the publicity.
[00:39:10] [SPEAKER_04]: Right.
[00:39:11] [SPEAKER_01]: That's, that's the other movie.
[00:39:13] [SPEAKER_01]: That's next week.
[00:39:13] [SPEAKER_01]: That's Jake Helgren movie.
[00:39:15] [SPEAKER_01]: So, um, yeah, they make out, they totally hook up.
[00:39:18] [SPEAKER_01]: Uh, grief is quite an aphrodisiac.
[00:39:21] [SPEAKER_01]: And, um, now Jennifer LeFewitt is like worried.
[00:39:25] [SPEAKER_01]: She's like, what's going to happen?
[00:39:26] [SPEAKER_01]: Like, I don't know.
[00:39:28] [SPEAKER_01]: Um, and they do the thing where they like go talk to their best friends, you know, like
[00:39:31] [SPEAKER_01]: he talks to Greg.
[00:39:32] [SPEAKER_04]: She cut back and forth as they're talking.
[00:39:35] [SPEAKER_01]: I, I hate that.
[00:39:36] [SPEAKER_01]: You don't like that part.
[00:39:37] [SPEAKER_01]: I hate that part of the movie because it always happens and it's always pointless.
[00:39:41] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm like, I don't need the friends to, to hash it out.
[00:39:45] [SPEAKER_01]: You know?
[00:39:46] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[00:39:46] [SPEAKER_04]: But it's, you know, it's the fun thing where they would hash it out.
[00:39:49] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[00:39:49] [SPEAKER_04]: But it's the thing where the friends say the exact same thing.
[00:39:53] [SPEAKER_04]: And so they can just like make the cuts where it's like, yeah, I, you know, uh, Greg is
[00:39:58] [SPEAKER_04]: like, I think that you should.
[00:40:00] [SPEAKER_04]: And then they cut to the, the, the, the other best friend and they finish the same
[00:40:04] [SPEAKER_02]: way of getting the movie to time though.
[00:40:06] [SPEAKER_02]: Right.
[00:40:07] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:40:07] [SPEAKER_02]: But you hate it.
[00:40:08] [SPEAKER_01]: You hate it.
[00:40:09] [SPEAKER_01]: I just think it's so pointless.
[00:40:11] [SPEAKER_01]: Like let's move on.
[00:40:12] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:40:12] [SPEAKER_01]: So, uh, during the kind of night together, like Jennifer Love Hewitt talks about, uh, you
[00:40:19] [SPEAKER_01]: know, the nice things her mom did for her.
[00:40:21] [SPEAKER_01]: Um, and one of the nice things was her mom would decorate her room in Christmas lights
[00:40:25] [SPEAKER_01]: whenever she was sad.
[00:40:26] [SPEAKER_01]: So like not necessarily around Christmas, just whenever.
[00:40:30] [SPEAKER_01]: Right.
[00:40:31] [SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
[00:40:31] [SPEAKER_01]: That's like a thing that she did.
[00:40:33] [SPEAKER_01]: Got it.
[00:40:33] [SPEAKER_01]: And she mentioned it to him.
[00:40:34] [SPEAKER_01]: Um, and she's like feeling really upset about, um, you know, everything going down with the
[00:40:42] [SPEAKER_01]: family.
[00:40:42] [SPEAKER_01]: And she just feels like she's wasted her whole Christmas break and everything.
[00:40:46] [SPEAKER_01]: And he decorates her room with like Christmas lights to make her feel better.
[00:40:51] [SPEAKER_01]: That's right.
[00:40:52] [SPEAKER_01]: And it's like really, it's like really sweet.
[00:40:54] [SPEAKER_04]: All right.
[00:40:54] [SPEAKER_04]: And then she cries again.
[00:40:56] [SPEAKER_04]: She cries.
[00:40:58] [SPEAKER_04]: I think this might be like six.
[00:41:00] [SPEAKER_04]: Wow.
[00:41:00] [SPEAKER_04]: I haven't been keeping count.
[00:41:02] [SPEAKER_04]: I think there's some that we haven't even mentioned.
[00:41:04] [SPEAKER_04]: Okay.
[00:41:04] [SPEAKER_04]: All right.
[00:41:05] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[00:41:06] [SPEAKER_01]: So the next day she's, she's inspired again.
[00:41:08] [SPEAKER_01]: She's like, okay, you know, the family might not be coming, but I want to make the most of
[00:41:13] [SPEAKER_01]: this.
[00:41:14] [SPEAKER_01]: And the town has a holiday hop, like a sock hop.
[00:41:18] [SPEAKER_01]: Uh, it gets canceled because of, I knew something with the venue.
[00:41:21] [SPEAKER_01]: Who cares?
[00:41:23] [SPEAKER_01]: There's a storefront that Mason has been having the whole movie.
[00:41:27] [SPEAKER_01]: She's like, let's use the storefront.
[00:41:29] [SPEAKER_04]: He was going to, he was going to, well, well, really quickly, he had, he bought the storefront
[00:41:35] [SPEAKER_04]: for his, who he thought was going to be his wife.
[00:41:37] [SPEAKER_04]: Cause she was an artist.
[00:41:38] [SPEAKER_04]: There's a storefront.
[00:41:39] [SPEAKER_04]: He's been having the whole movie.
[00:41:40] [SPEAKER_04]: That's right.
[00:41:41] [SPEAKER_04]: So he had this storefront and he's just kind of kept it, but hasn't done anything with it.
[00:41:45] [SPEAKER_04]: And so since meeting, uh, Jennifer Love Hewitt, he's slowly been kind of going back to that
[00:41:51] [SPEAKER_04]: place and fixing it up because it's just kind of been a shell.
[00:41:54] [SPEAKER_04]: And so she finds him working on this shop and she's like, oh my gosh, this is the perfect
[00:41:59] [SPEAKER_04]: place for the sock hop, holiday hop, whatever.
[00:42:02] [SPEAKER_04]: Uh, can we have it here?
[00:42:03] [SPEAKER_04]: And so they work together to decorate it and get it ready for holiday hop.
[00:42:07] [SPEAKER_04]: That's right.
[00:42:08] [SPEAKER_01]: Yep.
[00:42:09] [SPEAKER_01]: So, uh, and it's a great idea.
[00:42:12] [SPEAKER_01]: She uses all her, um, Christmas connections to kind of make it, it looks awesome.
[00:42:17] [SPEAKER_01]: By the way, it does look great trees and like, it looks so good.
[00:42:22] [SPEAKER_01]: Um, they ended up like slow dancing together.
[00:42:25] [SPEAKER_01]: Um, and one note, Mason doesn't wear a tie.
[00:42:28] [SPEAKER_01]: And I thought that was very disrespectful to Jennifer Love Hewitt and all the work she put
[00:42:32] [SPEAKER_01]: into the party.
[00:42:33] [SPEAKER_01]: The least she's dressed up in another red blazer, not a Linda belt Belcher blazer, but, uh, but
[00:42:40] [SPEAKER_01]: it's a glittery blazer and he, he's just out here with no tie, like a crinkled collar.
[00:42:47] [SPEAKER_01]: Like he's looking a mess.
[00:42:48] [SPEAKER_01]: I was very disappointed in the wardrobe for this.
[00:42:51] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh man.
[00:42:52] [SPEAKER_04]: That's tough.
[00:42:53] [SPEAKER_04]: I didn't.
[00:42:55] [SPEAKER_04]: I thought he looked good.
[00:42:57] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't know.
[00:42:57] [SPEAKER_04]: There you go.
[00:42:59] [SPEAKER_04]: No sloppy.
[00:43:00] [SPEAKER_04]: No sloppy.
[00:43:02] [SPEAKER_02]: I bet you terrible.
[00:43:03] [SPEAKER_02]: The last time that you thought you looked good and Patrick Serrano was in town.
[00:43:06] [SPEAKER_02]: He probably had thoughts.
[00:43:06] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:43:08] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm going to start sending you a daily, uh, fit checks and you can let me know.
[00:43:13] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, fun.
[00:43:14] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[00:43:14] [SPEAKER_01]: Uh, okay.
[00:43:15] [SPEAKER_01]: So Patrick's like, I'm in, she doesn't think that he looks a mess.
[00:43:20] [SPEAKER_01]: She, she like makes out with him and all the towns people are like cheering them.
[00:43:24] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh yeah, you go.
[00:43:26] [SPEAKER_01]: They, yeah, they really are into it.
[00:43:28] [SPEAKER_01]: Um, the family finally comes back and they're like, oh my gosh, our house is amazing.
[00:43:32] [SPEAKER_01]: We love it.
[00:43:33] [SPEAKER_01]: You're hired forever.
[00:43:35] [SPEAKER_01]: And Jennifer Hewitt's like, yay.
[00:43:37] [SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
[00:43:37] [SPEAKER_01]: Good.
[00:43:37] [SPEAKER_01]: You like it.
[00:43:38] [SPEAKER_01]: Um, and I don't know how it comes up, but she ends up crying again and running away.
[00:43:44] [SPEAKER_01]: Look at these tears.
[00:43:45] [SPEAKER_01]: Look at it.
[00:43:46] [SPEAKER_01]: Look at her crying.
[00:43:47] [SPEAKER_02]: Man.
[00:43:48] [SPEAKER_02]: She's really like, and this is the sixth time in the movie.
[00:43:50] [SPEAKER_04]: Could be 10th.
[00:43:52] [SPEAKER_01]: Wow.
[00:43:52] [SPEAKER_01]: This is like the big cry.
[00:43:54] [SPEAKER_02]: Like the, uh, the showstopper.
[00:43:57] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:43:57] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:43:58] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:43:58] [SPEAKER_04]: I think it's just one of those, like, I guess my job's done here type, type things.
[00:44:03] [SPEAKER_01]: You know what I mean?
[00:44:04] [SPEAKER_01]: It doesn't something happen where like Jennifer Love Hewitt's like talking to the family and
[00:44:08] [SPEAKER_01]: she's like, oh yeah, uh, this is Mason.
[00:44:11] [SPEAKER_01]: And she's like going to say like my boyfriend.
[00:44:13] [SPEAKER_01]: And he says like coworker.
[00:44:15] [SPEAKER_04]: Well, yeah, something like that.
[00:44:17] [SPEAKER_04]: And, but, but she, I think like she wanted him to like come, like want to go with her or
[00:44:26] [SPEAKER_04]: something.
[00:44:26] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't know.
[00:44:26] [SPEAKER_04]: Whatever it is, they get upset with each other or she gets upset with him.
[00:44:30] [SPEAKER_04]: And then, yeah, when, when, uh, they walk in, she says it was nice to meet you, Mason.
[00:44:36] [SPEAKER_04]: And then walks off.
[00:44:38] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[00:44:38] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[00:44:39] [SPEAKER_01]: It's good.
[00:44:39] [SPEAKER_01]: And then we've got our Jennifer Love Hewitt song.
[00:44:41] [SPEAKER_01]: We've all been waiting.
[00:44:42] [SPEAKER_01]: And I'm missing you at all.
[00:44:45] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm missing you since you've been gone.
[00:44:48] [SPEAKER_01]: That's really good.
[00:44:49] [SPEAKER_01]: And you, I am missing you at all.
[00:44:52] [SPEAKER_01]: I think it's Tina Turner.
[00:44:55] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's good.
[00:44:56] [SPEAKER_01]: Missing you at all.
[00:44:58] [SPEAKER_01]: Missing you.
[00:44:58] [SPEAKER_01]: Who is that?
[00:44:59] [SPEAKER_01]: I think it's Tina Turner, right?
[00:45:01] [SPEAKER_03]: I think it is.
[00:45:03] [SPEAKER_01]: Well, she does a cover of it.
[00:45:04] [SPEAKER_04]: It's Patrick Serrano if you ask me.
[00:45:06] [SPEAKER_04]: That's right.
[00:45:07] [SPEAKER_01]: There you go.
[00:45:09] [SPEAKER_01]: But that was the song.
[00:45:10] [SPEAKER_01]: I thought it was going to be a Christmas song, but it was just a, she just felt like
[00:45:13] [SPEAKER_01]: singing covering Tina.
[00:45:15] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:45:15] [SPEAKER_04]: Why wouldn't you?
[00:45:17] [SPEAKER_01]: Why wouldn't you?
[00:45:18] [SPEAKER_01]: Why wouldn't you?
[00:45:19] [SPEAKER_01]: So yes, we get funding for Jennifer Love Hewitt's business.
[00:45:25] [SPEAKER_01]: It's called Holiday Junkie 2.0.
[00:45:28] [SPEAKER_01]: Yay.
[00:45:29] [SPEAKER_02]: Awesome.
[00:45:29] [SPEAKER_02]: What a terrible name.
[00:45:31] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[00:45:31] [SPEAKER_01]: She calls her mom, leaves the voicemail and it's like, I did it.
[00:45:35] [SPEAKER_01]: We're going to, we're going to be great.
[00:45:36] [SPEAKER_01]: And then in my notes, I wrote and her mother comes back to life.
[00:45:40] [SPEAKER_01]: I love it.
[00:45:41] [SPEAKER_02]: Well, that would have been it.
[00:45:43] [SPEAKER_01]: But she doesn't.
[00:45:44] [SPEAKER_01]: No.
[00:45:45] [SPEAKER_01]: She just reconciles with Mason.
[00:45:47] [SPEAKER_01]: Mason has an idea.
[00:45:49] [SPEAKER_01]: He wants to use the storefront.
[00:45:50] [SPEAKER_01]: What?
[00:45:51] [SPEAKER_01]: For Jennifer Love Hewitt's business.
[00:45:53] [SPEAKER_01]: No way.
[00:45:53] [SPEAKER_01]: You know, they can.
[00:45:54] [SPEAKER_04]: Just so happened that I have it.
[00:45:55] [SPEAKER_04]: I have the storefront I've done nothing with for years.
[00:45:57] [SPEAKER_04]: Just so happens.
[00:45:58] [SPEAKER_04]: Right.
[00:45:59] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:46:00] [SPEAKER_01]: And he said, you don't have to pay rent.
[00:46:02] [SPEAKER_01]: You just have to pay me with big goods.
[00:46:05] [SPEAKER_01]: Got them.
[00:46:06] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[00:46:07] [SPEAKER_02]: Mm-hmm.
[00:46:07] [SPEAKER_01]: And he loves, he loves Christmas.
[00:46:09] [SPEAKER_01]: He loves her.
[00:46:10] [SPEAKER_01]: They kiss.
[00:46:11] [SPEAKER_01]: The movie does the thing where it flashes through all the scenes.
[00:46:14] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[00:46:14] [SPEAKER_01]: From when they first met.
[00:46:15] [SPEAKER_01]: The montage of the last two weeks.
[00:46:17] [SPEAKER_01]: You remember it?
[00:46:18] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[00:46:19] [SPEAKER_01]: Classic.
[00:46:20] [SPEAKER_01]: That's something else I really despise.
[00:46:22] [SPEAKER_01]: But yeah.
[00:46:22] [SPEAKER_02]: I was on the fence on this movie and you saying that made my decision for me.
[00:46:27] [SPEAKER_02]: Wow.
[00:46:28] [SPEAKER_02]: I hate that.
[00:46:29] [SPEAKER_04]: Like, hate it.
[00:46:31] [SPEAKER_04]: Well.
[00:46:31] [SPEAKER_04]: It feels a solid two minutes.
[00:46:33] [SPEAKER_04]: It does.
[00:46:33] [SPEAKER_04]: It does.
[00:46:34] [SPEAKER_04]: But we also, we did just see it.
[00:46:36] [SPEAKER_04]: But that is the movie.
[00:46:39] [SPEAKER_04]: And since you were already going into your thing, I guess it's time for us to pour it
[00:46:42] [SPEAKER_04]: up and put a cork in it.
[00:46:43] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:46:43] [SPEAKER_02]: I got to put a cork in it.
[00:46:44] [SPEAKER_02]: I enjoyed this.
[00:46:45] [SPEAKER_02]: And I think that I would enjoy seeing Jennifer Love You do, like, act, you know, and do this
[00:46:51] [SPEAKER_02]: thing.
[00:46:51] [SPEAKER_02]: And it sounds like a decent premise.
[00:46:54] [SPEAKER_02]: But all of the sads of it and the fact that the conflict sounds like it's barely there
[00:46:59] [SPEAKER_02]: and then he happens to own a storefront.
[00:47:01] [SPEAKER_02]: There's so many things that bothered me.
[00:47:03] [SPEAKER_02]: And then the montage, that is the worst.
[00:47:05] [SPEAKER_02]: If you are not M.
[00:47:06] [SPEAKER_02]: Night Shyamalan showing us all the ways we missed the twist or a three hour epic that
[00:47:12] [SPEAKER_02]: spans decades to remind you of the building relationship, you cannot show me a montage of the last
[00:47:18] [SPEAKER_02]: 80 minutes I just watched.
[00:47:20] [SPEAKER_02]: I hate that.
[00:47:21] [SPEAKER_02]: Put a cork in it.
[00:47:23] [SPEAKER_02]: All right.
[00:47:24] [SPEAKER_02]: Enthusiastic.
[00:47:25] [SPEAKER_02]: That's right.
[00:47:25] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:47:25] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:47:27] [SPEAKER_04]: Listen, I am notoriously not big on the sads.
[00:47:30] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't.
[00:47:30] [SPEAKER_04]: Yes.
[00:47:31] [SPEAKER_04]: I have a hard time with them.
[00:47:33] [SPEAKER_04]: But this movie did win me over.
[00:47:35] [SPEAKER_04]: I thought she was great.
[00:47:36] [SPEAKER_04]: And I thought the two leads, you know, they're married in real life.
[00:47:39] [SPEAKER_04]: And sometimes that bites you in these movies.
[00:47:41] [SPEAKER_04]: But they had steamy chemistry.
[00:47:44] [SPEAKER_04]: They were great together.
[00:47:45] [SPEAKER_04]: And so and it helps that the sads actually have some meat to them.
[00:47:51] [SPEAKER_04]: Like she's so good at crying.
[00:47:53] [SPEAKER_04]: She cries a lot.
[00:47:55] [SPEAKER_04]: And if it wasn't for the ridiculous what's the worst Christmas you've ever had game, I
[00:48:02] [SPEAKER_04]: would have liked this movie a lot more.
[00:48:03] [SPEAKER_04]: I hated that game.
[00:48:05] [SPEAKER_04]: I thought it was an awful way to get to the point of where they all share their things
[00:48:10] [SPEAKER_04]: because it's just not it's not a thing that you would do for mozzarella stick.
[00:48:14] [SPEAKER_04]: And so that was close to me putting a cork in it.
[00:48:18] [SPEAKER_04]: But the movie won me over.
[00:48:19] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm pouring it up.
[00:48:21] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[00:48:23] [SPEAKER_01]: So you mentioned the couple being an actual couple and it being steamy.
[00:48:26] [SPEAKER_01]: It was almost too steamy.
[00:48:27] [SPEAKER_01]: I felt a little uncomfortable with the makeouts.
[00:48:30] [SPEAKER_01]: They were really making out.
[00:48:31] [SPEAKER_01]: There was not an intimacy coordinator on set.
[00:48:34] [SPEAKER_01]: They were just we got this one.
[00:48:35] [SPEAKER_01]: We got this one, guys.
[00:48:37] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[00:48:37] [SPEAKER_01]: Jennifer, if you're like, I got it, like, we're cool.
[00:48:40] [SPEAKER_01]: We know what's up.
[00:48:41] [SPEAKER_01]: So, yeah, that was a little steamy.
[00:48:44] [SPEAKER_01]: Um, the mom dying thing.
[00:48:46] [SPEAKER_01]: I think if you have gone through that, maybe this would be some type of catharsis or something
[00:48:53] [SPEAKER_01]: like that.
[00:48:54] [SPEAKER_01]: Um, so I think it might be a good one to watch.
[00:48:56] [SPEAKER_01]: Uh, I was watching with my mom.
[00:48:58] [SPEAKER_01]: I watched these Christmas movies with my mom and I'm like, mom, you can never die.
[00:49:02] [SPEAKER_01]: I can never watch these.
[00:49:03] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm like, what?
[00:49:04] [SPEAKER_01]: Like, what the hell?
[00:49:05] [SPEAKER_04]: Um, it's been a big year for, for, for dead parents.
[00:49:09] [SPEAKER_04]: And I think this one, this one, it that's, it's the whole ball game.
[00:49:12] [SPEAKER_04]: Like, yeah.
[00:49:14] [SPEAKER_04]: It doesn't.
[00:49:15] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:49:15] [SPEAKER_04]: So it's not a plot point.
[00:49:17] [SPEAKER_04]: This isn't for everybody.
[00:49:18] [SPEAKER_04]: This movie is definitely not for everybody, but, um, they do deal with it.
[00:49:23] [SPEAKER_01]: Um, yeah.
[00:49:24] [SPEAKER_01]: So I think that that was a different spin on the dead parent thing.
[00:49:28] [SPEAKER_01]: Um, you know, actually grieving instead of just having it be a plot point.
[00:49:32] [SPEAKER_01]: Um, so I would pour it up for that reason.
[00:49:36] [SPEAKER_01]: Um, there are a lot of like annoying things like director choices, like the montage and
[00:49:41] [SPEAKER_01]: stuff like that.
[00:49:42] [SPEAKER_01]: Um, but overall it's the best lifetime is going to give us a mate.
[00:49:46] [SPEAKER_01]: We'll see if Marcus Rosner can, can top, uh, Jennifer Love Hewitt.
[00:49:50] [SPEAKER_01]: Wow.
[00:49:50] [SPEAKER_01]: That's right.
[00:49:51] [SPEAKER_04]: That's right.
[00:49:52] [SPEAKER_04]: We, that, that does bring us, that does bring us to our, our last deck delight time
[00:49:57] [SPEAKER_04]: on court.
[00:49:58] [SPEAKER_04]: We're taking next week off, uh, for Christmas and then we'll be back on a new year's
[00:50:02] [SPEAKER_04]: Eve, I believe with our final one.
[00:50:04] [SPEAKER_04]: Uh, what's it called?
[00:50:05] [SPEAKER_04]: Engaged for Christmas.
[00:50:07] [SPEAKER_04]: Engaged.
[00:50:07] [SPEAKER_04]: Engaged.
[00:50:09] [SPEAKER_04]: By Christmas.
[00:50:10] [SPEAKER_04]: Got it.
[00:50:10] [SPEAKER_04]: Uh, uh, friends of the show, Britt Bristow and Marcus Rosner's in that one.
[00:50:14] [SPEAKER_04]: So that's going to be a fun way to close out the season for sure.
[00:50:18] [SPEAKER_04]: Um, support Patrick, lifetime of court.com, uh, co dash five.com slash Patrick Toronto.
[00:50:24] [SPEAKER_04]: There you go.
[00:50:25] [SPEAKER_04]: Maybe we'll get to 10.
[00:50:27] [SPEAKER_04]: I love that.
[00:50:28] [SPEAKER_04]: Everybody do it right now.
[00:50:29] [SPEAKER_02]: Unless you're driving.
[00:50:30] [SPEAKER_04]: We'll do it.
[00:50:31] [SPEAKER_04]: Let's get to 20.
[00:50:32] [SPEAKER_04]: 25 by 2025.
[00:50:33] [SPEAKER_04]: 25 by 25.
[00:50:34] [SPEAKER_04]: I love that for us.
[00:50:35] [SPEAKER_04]: Bold statement.
[00:50:36] [SPEAKER_04]: Um, anything else for the people, Patrick?
[00:50:38] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, uh, well, I was just going to say, what are you doing?
[00:50:41] [SPEAKER_01]: New Year's, New Year's Eve.
[00:50:46] [SPEAKER_04]: Nailed it.
[00:50:46] [SPEAKER_01]: That's it.
[00:50:47] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[00:50:47] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm going to be hanging out with you.
[00:50:48] [SPEAKER_04]: That's what we're going to be doing.
[00:50:49] [SPEAKER_04]: That's right.
[00:50:49] [SPEAKER_04]: Can't wait.
[00:50:50] [SPEAKER_04]: Can't wait.
[00:50:50] [SPEAKER_04]: Can't wait.
[00:50:51] [SPEAKER_04]: If, if, if, if you're lucky, we might be able to do it right at midnight.
[00:50:54] [SPEAKER_04]: We'll do this and then we'll segue right into the countdown together.
[00:50:58] [SPEAKER_04]: Of course.
[00:50:58] [SPEAKER_04]: Yes.
[00:50:59] [SPEAKER_04]: Fun.
[00:50:59] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:51:00] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't know.
[00:51:00] [SPEAKER_04]: Love it.
[00:51:00] [SPEAKER_04]: Um, all right.
[00:51:01] [SPEAKER_04]: Merry Christmas, Patrick.
[00:51:03] [SPEAKER_04]: Merry Christmas.
[00:51:04] [SPEAKER_04]: I hope you enjoy it.
[00:51:05] [SPEAKER_04]: Until next time, maybe the first to wish you a Merry Christmas.
