BRAN'S MOVIE SYNOPSIS

The movie starts like your typical Christmas movie. Claire, who works in marketing, and Jesse, the town handyman, are decorating the town together and seem like they're setting us up for a cute little Christmas romance. Except Claire just landed a big job in New York and is leaving her hometown of Pine Hollow for the big city.

Her college friend Sloane, who helped get her the job, shows her around NYC. The company hooks Claire up with an absolutely unreal apartment, which immediately makes Jesse insecure. He didn't want to break up, and he doesn't really understand why Claire has to move away.

A neighbor named Miles helps Claire with her Wi-Fi and comes into her apartment to check the modem. He lives next door, and seems like he could be a sketchy ball.

Claire keeps hearing random noises.

Meanwhile, we meet Steve from the end of the hall, who is much suaver than Miles and asks Claire out on a date.

The date goes well, and Claire listens to smooth jazz while making pasta. She hears something in the hallway, but it turns out to just be someone moving into the apartment next door. She asks the doorman about it, and he basically laughs in her face.

The next morning, Claire notices a snow globe from her hometown sitting out on the mantel. She could have sworn she put it away. Then she finds a card with "DO YOU SEE WHAT I SEE?" written on the back.

Claire's voice assistant, Elmer, normally plays nothing but smooth jazz. But then it gets hacked and starts playing Christmas music. Claire and Steve make out, and Elmer refuses to play smooth jazz while they're smooching which makes Claire real mad.

Then she comes home the next day and her ENTIRE HOUSE IS DECORATED, some of it nice, but most of it creepy.

Claire immediately calls the police. Everyone is just as concerned as Claire. Steve and Sloane both offer Claire a place to stay.

Miles turns out to be gay, which pretty much eliminates him as a potential romantic stalker, but does NOT eliminate him as a potential Christmas KILLER. Claire de-decorates her apartment and changes all of her locks.

Unfortunately, that doesn't stop the messages.

Claire asks the maintenance guy for help, and honestly, he's also incredibly creepy. He tells her to get Miles to set up surveillance cameras in her apartment. Miles installs a fire alarm camera, and Claire pretends she's going out of town so they can catch the intruder in the act.

Miles and Claire stay up watching the camera and eventually catch the intruder red-handed, which they do...well, kinda. They only see what hat he's wearing.

Claire finds a hat in Steve's apartment that she recognizes from the surveillance footage and leaves very scared and he's like wtf? She goes back to the detectives and they search Steve's apartment, find some evidence, and things are NOT looking good for our guy.

Claire decides to go back through the surveillance footage when she finds out that Steve is actually cleared by a solid alibi. She notices a reflection in the mirror in the footage.

IT'S THE HANDYMAN FROM HER HOMETOWN. JESSE!!!!

Jesse shows up at Claire's apartment and Claire starts throwing EVERYTHING she can find at him. Unfortunately, Jesse manages to grab her and drag her into his secret hideout.

He explains that he thought if Claire believed the city was dangerous enough, she would move back home and be with him. Claire hits him with a wrench and screams!

One week later, Claire is thriving. Everyone at work thinks she's incredible at her new job. She starts dating Steve and tells him she's finally home with him.
