[00:00:56] We did get we did decorate we got home alone, and then we had to decorate again Hopefully we don't get home alone again. We got a new lock system home on twice in a month We got we got the new lock system set up so it's great

[00:01:08] We're talking about the first new Hallmark Christmas in July movie of the season falling like snowflakes Brian you were telling me earlier that you've made a list of things that also fall like snowflakes What are those things truck tires? They fall like snowflakes things truck tires

[00:01:30] Sashay they drop right on top Turtles turtles all like snowflakes yep sand also like snowflakes you're dropping some really heavy and alive things Flakes up north I don't know if you guys yeah big time. Yeah, I would say sand is maybe the closest closest sometimes

[00:01:52] Yeah, water sometimes water falls way faster than a snowflake right like snowflakes kind of yeah and Bicycles it is July. We're really excited because July is Bramble fest month. We're super Do it live if you like that there's more Live

Yeah, really excited any major announcements for upcoming movies or anything That was great Let's talk about that That movie that was announced the Great the Kansas City Chiefs Tyler Hines Funny funny short from last year now being funny long for this year full-length movie

[00:03:00] Predictions on that one Brian. What are your thoughts? I think I was gonna draw in a ton of viewers. Yeah, I think We're gonna be just so disappointed Overall you think so One snowflake I'm gonna hold on to my cream

[00:03:16] For the creativity of the partnership this movie's gonna be underwhelming and now we don't have to preview it Isn't that fantastic it off the list take it right off that list. I am looking forward to it There are so many dumb things you both just said

[00:03:31] The biggest being that we're not gonna preview it again Well, I think if we can play our we play our cards right we may be able to preview it every week for the next six months Really?

[00:03:43] Think there's a way that that's not fun. I think it's gonna be a ton of fun. You don't see a way I don't see a single way. I don't see a single way

[00:03:52] There's plenty ways it's not fun you're overestimating how much I care about the stadium care about arrowhead But I don't care about it. There's no CD football players none of the football stuff There's no cameos and it basically is shifting gears

[00:04:06] Football does Tyler does Tyler in the movie by grabbing a woman's head and kissing her hard then yeah Can't underwhelm can't underwhelm. It's not possible. I think you're underestimating Hallmark's ability to underwhelm I think you're overestimating my

[00:04:22] Underestimated underwhelmed by a Tyler Hines movie before though sure okay, all right sure yeah sure it can happen at Christmas No have I have it been underwhelmed by a never increased you were underwhelmed by I was go back and listen

[00:04:35] I'm gonna because I think you were like yeah, it's fine cuz it's Tyler Tyler's great sure but you weren't super high on it I think it's a letterbox ranking. I have it way higher than you boys

[00:05:20] She didn't know that he was gonna be there and he was standing there cheering her on and she got so excited and we all got excited and Like the previous five concerts, can you shut your mouth? So you just didn't go home

[00:05:43] Five snowflakes and all my creams for the Kansas City movie because I think we definitely previewed it now 21 I'll go five in a cream I Will go five in a cream with you I'll go three for the Tyler. Obviously, you know No

[00:06:06] But what if we get a mama Kelsey cameo, you know excited on Kelsey cream? I don't think we're allowed. No, that would be wrong Let's talk about the first Christmas in July movie that aired in June June 29 June 29 2024

[00:06:23] And it went a little something like this how the movie kicks off hard with snowflakes They want you to know very early in this movie. This movie is about snowflakes, I Know you thought that this movie was primarily about plows

[00:06:38] Yeah, you were had to be disappointed in the plow come early on Heavy on the flakes have a place like time. We'll save it Tegan is a snowflake photographer. She teaches kids about photography and

[00:06:52] after class student Julie as I call her needs a ride because her dad Noah's a snowplow driver and he's plowing up in the mountains, so He's busy can't pick her up. So turns out though Noah and Tegan. They know each other they met and

[00:07:10] They talk a lot about wind Really a long conversation about winds, but they're talking about wind and stuff She's excited about the possibility of this perfect snowstorm in the mountains because the conditions are perfect For the potential to see the elusive 12 sided diamondback rattlesnake snowflake

[00:07:29] I'm in a dendro. That's right and if my lag not stack stack just a lag mark You got it And if she can get this picture her snowflake series would be complete and

[00:07:41] She might win an award that would give funding to the community center that currently does not have heat Those my friends are the stakes and so Pretty thing. I know it's pretty serious stuff

[00:07:52] So she decides to go talk to Noah because Noah has a plow Noah big snowstorm coming up perfect conditions It's wet. It's humid. It's cold What else do you need The conditions for perfect snowstorm it needs to be wet

[00:08:09] It needs to be humid and these will be cold correct and so he's like no this snowstorm is gonna be bad I'm not going up there But then when he finds out that she's just gonna take a little dinker car up there drive up there by herself

[00:08:21] He says you know what hop in the plow will head on up to the mountains And so they head on up there that things are going great, but then they decide the conditions are deteriorating quickly

[00:08:32] We're not gonna make it down the job down. Thank you. We're not gonna make it down the mountain conditions I know we're we're not gonna make it down the mountain in time luckily for them. There's an end there

[00:08:43] We love this in no one else knows about is just them and they're safe, and we love that she the next day runs into the woods after There's a plow crash. She runs into the woods again the conditions

[00:08:58] Con it's tough and so she heads into the woods. She's trying to get the perfect picture of the perfect 12-sided diamondback Yuler Yuler ripsies Yes, so I'm about your ripsies if she got that one. No no 12-sided and Then he runs after her

[00:09:19] Yes, caddy won't miss a runs after her because he's like Tegan Again a big old branch is about to fall on top of him. She saves his life Hallmark turn things on women don't need to be saved anymore. She can save him new hallmark and so

[00:09:40] have you heard about this and so they she saves his life from Big Branch and they get back into the Plow and she realizes I don't have my Camera what am I gonna? Do well he brings her home then goes back up to the mountains and

[00:09:59] Finds the camera brings the camera to her all of this is happening. There's a Another photographer, she's yeah bad best we can figure she's bad At Photography and she's a bad person

[00:10:15] And she's trying to be like we don't I I'm gonna win and so she takes pictures of snow She doesn't know how to take pictures of snuff. She does we do you need the black the black

[00:10:28] The sash the sashay and so once once everybody sees her pictures, they're like this woman wamps luckily she did get the picture we needed it and She wins All the big awards and a guy who loves catching snowflakes on his tongue as a kid

[00:10:47] Says my word is my bond and gives her a big old wad of cash inside of an envelope this is it should cover it right and She goes over to our guy Noah, and it's like thank you for making my dreams come true and for

[00:13:38] We're gonna start with a hot take or share exactly how we felt about this movie the first Christmas in July movie of 2024 what do you think Brian of falling like snowflakes? I can't believe we're here this snuck up on me here

[00:13:50] Yeah, it's stuck up on me too big another week. Yeah, and I wasn't I didn't feel ready for it at all I like wasn't in the right state of mind and then actually turned out had a pretty good time with this movie sure

[00:14:02] Expectations were a touch too high a little calibrating to do That preview episode here what you thought of this movie calibrate can we pull up the rating for this movie? You got that somewhere, right? Review rankings man. It was probably a little too excited about the plowing

[00:14:20] He was a guy at the pond. They talked a lot about plowing go plow crazy. I did go plow crazy For Bratz is what I gave it or Bratz over there. That's ridiculous. That's ridiculous

[00:14:30] No, anything more ridiculous is brands five Bratz, but I expect it from him not for me Yeah, so I got a little work to do yeah I'm gonna work on that for the season coming up I thought pretty good start though for getting into the Christmas season like

[00:14:44] easing viewers in hitting all the notes single dad Move back to the small town. It's all their Photographer who you know has a showing at a gallery Christmas Eve auction. It's all we're doing all the stuff

[00:14:58] I'm moving about snowflakes. They do play all the hit yeah, so they're all in there so and I don't know about you I feel like I found my favorite atmospheric scientist. I think we're all on the same page there

[00:15:09] I think we got that nailed down for the season. There was a debate before and Yeah so The this was though classic knockout blowdown One you see the one a masterclass in gaslighting though By whom They I know it wasn't snowing. I know it was sunny and

[00:15:37] there were shadows and blue skies, but They kept telling us it was snowing and storming and saying we're right between Handcuffs the gaslighting this week all-time high. Yeah, it's super high good thing You're going easy and getting out of the gas right? Yeah, that's right

[00:15:53] So it I just I know it wasn't snowing but they just kept telling us it was and showing us that it was sort of that I just had to give into it and Obviously not enough plowing no plowing at all. Yeah ridiculously

[00:16:10] I was cloud Jason. There was lots of time in the plow in the truck Could have plowed could apply many things. Yeah, didn't didn't chose not to So yeah fine. I think a pretty decent start to Christmas in July though. Yeah it is

[00:16:28] So good to be back. It was so good to be home. It is Guys, I brought was enough. I don't know I don't know why we do the rest of the year to be honest with you. I

[00:16:42] I've said it before and I'll say it again new Internet. I I only care about Christmas and my Yes, but like this over savoring Paris. Yes, really? Yes Wow For me this movies barely Christmas. What thought you were gonna complain. There was a lack of Christmas

[00:17:01] No, she has four trees in her living room day like for most of the movie They're just out and about with no Christmas in sight just snow snows Christmas. All right I didn't think there was that much Christmas

[00:17:10] I thought for sure I was gonna get a brand like this is not enough Christmas situation It's Christmas in July Dan your boys desperate. I'm out. I'm out. I went out to the freakin desert true with no

[00:17:20] Risking sites just begging people off the streets for brisk and we got it. We got it in this movie I my Christmas has been fixed My Christmas fixed has been in so knocked down No turtles off that roof Has been fixed

[00:17:40] I'm not a buffoon. I'm aware that savoring Paris is a better movie I'm aware that this movie probably quote-unquote isn't that good? What I what if I given what I know now and what I have seen what I give it five brats every single time

[00:18:00] It's so good to be home it is great to be back and July is July is Water for my soul. It is a chick the chicken noodle soup from a book it is

[00:18:16] Whatever it is for me is what it is for you. It is so good to be back Not true My feels in this movie is how they take a picture of a snowflake I did find that fascinating I know that we're not in the field segment yet

[00:18:39] But I'm just gonna go ahead and knock it out because I can't without not go down Yeah, it's not gonna blow down situation. Um how they take a picture of a snowflake is actually cool I did find that fascinating the rest of this movie

[00:18:51] 1200 episodes then Dan decides to rewrite the way in which we do things and start with all the This movies terrible take as I have a feel my hot take is the movie is terrible. It's awful even with a premise

[00:19:07] I've not seen before which is this is how you take a picture of a singular snowflake and why that's important that Could have been interesting this movie's quite terrible very boring not a lot of Christmas

[00:19:19] Not just not good not enough plowing according to Brian. No, not not a good start to Christmas in July by any Stretch I think I would take every other Christmas in July

[00:19:31] There was one bad one last year that we watched before Bramble fest. It was really bad royal was a royal Christmas crush Yeah, Steven is ours royal. That's ah, this might be better than that one

[00:19:43] But of the majority of the Christmas you live movies like the Christmas camp that we did was really great crashing through the snow The sliding doors, it's called Christmas camp really good like compared to this one Whatever was for me it was for you

[00:20:04] Chicken soup for my book chicken soup for my book. That's right. Oh my gosh. It's time for all the feels Dan already went Brian Mine was a cool do a white one here if you want Listen you're owned by no man. You would definitely come on cork

[00:20:25] Do you want to throw in it to a mine is a quote? God man the the innkeeper said Strangers at my door at Christmas asking for help. What else do I need to know? I love that line

[00:20:37] I thought that was really funny and and I thought of brand immediately Because they're like what you just leave us in your house alone You don't even know us we're strangers and he just couldn't be happier. So that was that was a good good quote right there

[00:20:50] I gotta be honest I got a few feels I got feels by both of their names one Noah in a movie about Weather shout out to Noah the folks that know would do a great job predicting the weather

[00:21:02] To the name Tegan made me think of the indie darlings Tegan and Sarah shout out number three worst case scenario is being out on the mountain and Being like where am I gonna go tonight?

[00:21:16] Best case scenario is that in holy smokes an inn in the middle of the mountains at Christmas time? We're the only guests, but they still carol for you Heck yeah, baby. Give me that all day long. It is good to be home man. Dan. You already went

[00:22:11] The plow ride itself like we're in that plow a lot Yeah, and it just was a little too smooth for my liking. They weren't even screaming at each other across the cab No, you can hear everything just fine

[00:22:22] Yeah, you should you should hear all the bolts rattling like you should that window shouldn't even shut all the way I designed for comfort. No Come on Sure, did you get it just over the whole time they should just be screaming at each other

[00:22:40] For my book chicken soup So it just was it's great that they're in the cab Like we were in the cab and we just didn't plow there's no heat in the community center like shut it shut it down

[00:22:54] Weird scene because you can no one everyone looks comfortable, but bundled up. Yes Yeah, don't do that scene and just the community center can still suck and need repairs without it without not having heat Yeah

[00:23:07] He could be like on the fritz or if you're gonna have it with no heat Everything you have to do that. You have to put some time into that means frozen pipes Yes, I mean that's a big

[00:23:16] Problem. Yes a real big problem. That would be a problem in South Carolina. Yeah there. Yeah, forget it Oh man, and that kid Julie she burnt those gingerbread cookies Okay, though did not come straight out of the oven like the those things are burnt

[00:23:31] Crispy like gingerbreads on even I think that's supposed to be soft Anyway, like it's not supposed to crunch those things crunch straight out of the oven It's just that poor kid and he's feeding the lie. Like he's got to be honest with her and just say

[00:23:43] These aren't the best gingerbread cookies get back to work like yeah, yeah And then yeah, yeah, this is not good enough Wow, she left that camera out in the snow Without hesitation. Yeah, it's just not even a second thought it might just my dream down the drain whatever

[00:24:01] NBD he says like don't go back out there and she's like, okay, you're right Just yeah. Yeah, you're right. Let's go all the way back for I don't know two hours. It's 12 hours

[00:24:11] It took them to get out there and back so yeah, that's that's about it for me Yeah, man. I don't know the history of this in I don't know how it's still in business But thank God there's an in in the woods that no one knows about because

[00:24:30] Looking at it. It's thriving There's there's so many lights They're just well staffed for an end that has no one at it because of the snowstorm I love it and I

[00:24:42] So wait what because you know, clearly it shouldn't exist if it doesn't exist. It's going out of business But it's my favorite type of weight. What because it's something that I would love to stumble upon

[00:24:55] What I wouldn't want to stumble upon is that candy cane? It's too big Too big. Why are we trying to revolutionize candy canes? They've been perfect for a long time and we don't need them to be bigger. We don't need them to be thicker

[00:25:09] We've had a conversation before can you can't purist are you do you eat any other flavors I do you do? Okay, so I have I don't know like a starburst. Yes, I will if it's around I went to a

[00:25:20] Phase as a kid where I loved blue candy canes or like blue raspberry. Yes. Yeah, you're a blue raspberry. I love them. Yeah But they don't need to be bigger. Yeah, the size is what like it's a purtis the purt

[00:25:32] Like I don't wanna I don't want to stop getting a cane I don't want to stop candy cane half halfway like you'd have to with that candy canes

[00:25:40] You have to wrap it up probably put in a baggie to keep it fresh. I don't want to do this Chuck It's too big It's I don't I Want black ice is a son of a gun?

[00:25:52] I once was in an accident of black ice when I was a kid. It was tough You know skidded into it and if it wasn't for a tree that stopped the car from rolling we would have died

[00:26:04] Your boy wouldn't have been here today. So when I see this movie and how they handle black ice such as Yeah might not be black ice the thing about black ice is it's

[00:26:19] Up on you and you shouldn't be able to get a head start at it, which is what they do here They he says well, oh here comes the black ice maybe do anything to stop

[00:26:30] He doesn't he sees it calls it out names. It claims it and falls right into it. That's that's tough It's the biggest one of this movie Yes, you were rolling your eyes at the fact that he his whole plow his whole rig is down

[00:26:44] Yeah with a small patch of black ice. Yeah Rosner also eyeballs Yeah way out there and it's like black guys coming up everybody hold on Hits the brakes. He hits the brakes and I which is not

[00:26:57] You think I think tow trucks to your point are meant to be able to handle this type of situation But if they aren't and you're in your you see it and you call it out

[00:27:07] You should be able to avoid it right over it and do not hit. Yeah. Yeah, whatever you do. Don't hit the brakes Don't hit the brakes Last but not least at one point. She says this where there's smoke. There's warmth

[00:27:19] It's the best the old saying where there's smoke. There's warmth is there fire? You know what they say where there's smoke there's warmth, you know what that's the old sad heard that proverb

[00:27:30] Yeah, Dan. Oh, yeah the black ice where there's smoke. There's warmth. Those are the two best I do love the idea that our lead hot ice Yes, the best of both worlds our lead wasn't a big snowflake person

[00:27:42] she didn't care about snowflakes and then her mom read a proverb and Because of this proverb they started to do Snowflake like hunting as a hobby and then when her mom died, she just goes ham on snowflakes That's quite a domino

[00:28:01] Domino set there. Well, you know where there's smoke there's warmth So but also to not care at all just like I'm a photographer whatever and then her mom's like, you know, I heard today like

[00:28:13] Hearing where there's smoke there's warmth for the first time and be like I gotta start studying smoke I gotta start really Cracking the books and always be looking for it. That's right You're like I have to devote my life. So it's all about to smoke

[00:28:26] I that that was a little too quick that they that they know like yes, of course smoke Um, no, I was doing an illustration. Okay? Yeah, I wouldn't give I wouldn't give my life to smoke No, you wouldn't kind of wish that black ice took its toll

[00:28:42] The donor in this movie delivers serious lines like they're funny and funny lines like they're serious he says a Sentence his this he says this when I was a boy. I used to catch snowflakes on my tongue

[00:28:58] I couldn't say that without smiling like that is such a childhood memory He says it like he's in therapy and they've unwrapped some deep trauma He's like when I was a boy he used to catch snowflakes my tongue

[00:29:11] Like he is saying like he's saying it like he's listening to system of a down I don't know. He is very very serious when he says this line and I couldn't get past it

[00:29:23] The rival photographer we find out all movie the thing that we think is happening is happening, which is She's just taking random pictures of snow No one told her The it's the dumbest part of this movie is the whole movie you see you're taking pictures of snow

[00:29:39] You're like well, that's not gonna work. They don't have to sashay Early on you need to sashay yeah, and we don't there's nothing to it It's just yeah, she was doing I will say she was she was unnecessary. It was an unnecessary

[00:29:51] Yeah rival of the movie. It didn't make it Last but not least at the end of this movie a woman wants to make a toast and we can't get her Any silverware or any ADR because she just takes the side of her glass and clicks her

[00:30:07] Fingernails on it and it makes some sort of sound that is not the sound That you would associate with that at all it was more ASMR than anything

[00:30:16] So, you know what's fun about sounds though as I recently found out that a Roku's added some new sounds. Oh, yeah blink And that's fun Get phylo on on Roku as well download that phylo app and hear what we're talking about with the boink sounds

[00:30:32] If you need another selling point besides the unlimited DVR And all the channels and the fact that you get to watch us Get on the Roku listen for the voice Listen for the boinks

[00:30:43] It's time for the what the hallmarks where we talk about what in this movie made us wonder some things that we would like answers to Brian he Noah came back to take over the or by the bit the business her dad's business or somebody's

[00:30:58] Parents business, right? Yeah all business so he But it looks like he works for the town like or the city or like though the plow like that Like that's not a small business plowing entity. Like he is working for the town as Get out ahead of him

[00:31:15] Maybe he's contracted by the town maybe but his yard It is just piled mountains of sand and tractors and like a ridiculous amount of equipment that You're affording a giant corporation like that

[00:31:29] If you're not just part of a town like I didn't understand that cuz the way he said he's a guy just came back and bought The you know, the old small business and then they show this like airplane hanger of snow removal equipment

[00:31:41] That looks like it would cost a fortune and I don't know. I don't really understand that part of it very much Yeah, if this if this movie's goal was to get people more interested in snowflake types mission accomplished

[00:31:56] They give you information about snowflakes such as there's 34 different types of snowflakes How do you know how do we know that like is there any sneak about their life? I know There's warm to be able to get the sashay to like like our is there

[00:32:12] Like to be able to look at the 12 the 12-sided snowflake. We know it exists But it's elusive are there pictures that it is their type of Their type is their type of weather Snowflake time that make it be like hey, this is the perfect conditions for 12 sites

[00:32:30] No, it's like not for any other type of so very interesting in snowflakes now Very interesting in snowflakes now, but is there type of snowflake time? There's a scene in this movie where he brings coffee to her it's just the two of them

[00:32:47] He brings four cups of coffee. He looks at the coffee and goes cream sugar Black and then he hands it to her and then says I forgot what you how you like your coffee What happens in the editing room there

[00:34:48] Then who do we have today? That's a great question Brian we have Jennifer Colosi Brian you did the deep dive on Jennifer and found out some pretty troubling stuff. I understand. Yeah, actually Yeah, Brainy kind of nailed that Jennifer so good to have her with us. Obviously

[00:35:09] She kind of in struggling a little bit. I found in my research. So let's exploit it on the struggle bus Yeah, this is the place proposals and exploitation So she decided to Take it to a place a little more fluid to the water if you will

[00:35:28] And which also turns into a nice snowflake it does like something And try to change her perspective a little bit And so she's become quite a proponent for canoeing and how it can change your life Okay, and she's sort of adopted this attitude

[00:35:44] Some might call it she does call it her canoe attitude and And it's kind of gotten her a canoe lease on life you might say Canoe perspective Not a canoe perspective she's got canoe perspective, right? Yeah. Yeah, cuz you said she's got a canoe perspective

[00:36:13] Canoe perspective, so what you doing? She can knew them what she So she's just getting out there and it's just so many different types of Canoes to try and to be in if you just put yourself in

[00:36:29] Literally and figuratively in your mind and in a different type of so she's not selling anything. She just has a share her Perspective yeah, absolutely. She wants other people and sounds like she's got canoe lease on life. She loves it She does have canoe lease on Wow

[00:36:46] Yeah, yeah, that's really sweet a lot of people would have taken that and maybe started a business with that type of She didn't want to make any money for anybody

[00:36:53] No, she's just trying to encourage people to get right back out there right and is she running canoe tours? Yes, but it's not It's not about that. No so you can contact her for that and It's just like through Venmo and stuff
