BRAN’S MOVIE SYNOPSIS
The movie kicks off at a street antique market. We meet Kathryn & Rob who both want this old projector. She’s an antique dealer while he’s an antique repairman who I think specializes in projectors. Even though she wins the bid for the projector, he asks her out. But they’re both so busy, it’s gonna be hard to find time before the new year. So she invites herself to his family’s house for their annual cookie bake. His family bakes 900 cookies every year for folks in need. She survives the big night and they really dig each other.
Cut to 1 year later, they’re still dating and he has a ring! She comes over to his Christmas house and he proposes! And before he can even get the question out, she stops him and tells him that he’s too perfect and runs out.
He decides to go to his sister’s house and gets into a car crash!! She gets a call and comes straight to the hospital. She goes in to see him and he doesn’t know who she is. He has selective amnesia and doesn’t remember the last year. The doctor encourages her to 50 First Dates him and help him get his memory back. To make matters crazier, the family all saw the ring he had in his possession at the time of the crash.
Even though remembering will mean he remembers her running away, she agrees to help him fall back in love with Christmas and hopefully bring back the memories he’s lost. While they do their dating, it turns out that he doesn’t actually love Christmas as much as he once did. And she’s not necessarily a Christmas nut. Slowly, his memories begin to pop back when they do random things like dance and when he hears her laugh. His sister tells Kathryn that she knows Rob. If Rob proposed to her, she’s it for him. She needs to figure out if he’s it for her.
She ends up sleeping with him....on the floor cuz they fell asleep before she could leave. She almost kisses him before she leaves but opts not to.
After the family cookie bake, they are spending some time together, talking about how they want to kiss each other and then they do! THEY KISS BIG ONES!!! He goes in to make her her favorite drink. He smells the cocoa and ALL the memories come back. She walks in and he’s REAL MAD at her.
The next day, he asks her why she ran out. She explains the pressure of him calling her perfect was just too much for her. He apologizes. They agree that they both deserve to be with someone who brings out their best.
After she gets a little pep talk from his mom about how she actually declined her own proposal 3 times and it’s okay to take your own time, she shows up at the charity auction, outbids him on the jukebox that he fixed. He meets her outside and they both tell each other they love each other and they kiss some more.
