Well, no, it's funny My wife has been listening to our show and she loves it So we were watching together And we both go It's Cousin Rune! So we were very excited Not that I'm even so much a fan It's just wondering where he's been

[00:05:10] He's apparently been working there the whole time It's crazy He's been working at the inn We also get to see Jackson And it's been a hot minute since we've seen Jackson So I was excited about that Uh, Suki is busy getting ready for this big dinner Uh, for this like 17th century festival thing That's coming into town And Jackson has been assigned to play the squire Lorelai gets a call from Christopher He wants Rory to come and stay with him And Sherry for a couple days during winter break

[00:05:40] She's like, oh, think about it Uh, they get bad news The dinner is off The group that was coming in Is snowed in in Chicago And so since everything is already planned They decide, well, why not just invite the town? Yeah, man We'll make it a town thing Uh, meanwhile, Dean the Saint Breaks up a fight that Jess was having What a guy Uh, Jess says I don't need your help, Dean

[00:06:08] This, uh, party has everyone From Paris to Richard and Emily All coming into Starz Hollow for this thing Uh, they're all very confused by Richard Who is suddenly in a very good mood We saw him earlier at Friday night dinner Kind of staring off into space We're like, what's up with this guy? Now he's suddenly in a great mood Emily doesn't know why But she's not upset about it Everywhere that Rory turns Jess is there Just staring at her That's tough

[00:06:38] Apparently, Lorelai has hired millions of horses and carriages To give horse and carriage rides for everybody that is there She ends up taking a ride with Luke He tells her that he's figured out the secret of parenting It's lying Lorelai breaks the news that Hey, I think you might know that you're lying about With the situation with his mom And the holidays and whatnot So they're usually And they can pick up on one more lion

[00:07:08] While those two lovebirds take a ride Jess ends up hopping on a sleigh With Rory They have a flirty, flirty, fun time And then he's like I don't feel like Dean is your type of guy And Rory is like What do you know about my type of guy? It's dinner time And Richard is the life of the party And that's when it comes out He's retired He's retired This is news to literally everyone Including Emily

[00:07:37] Before bed Rory asks if she's heard from her dad And Lorelai is like Um, maybe Maybe he did call in And wants to spend time with you But I didn't tell you And she's like Why didn't you tell me? And Lorelai is like I feel like I have dibs on you this time of year And I don't like thinking about you not being with me And I got jealous And Rory is like I get it Let me think about it And I'll decide what I want to do

[00:08:06] Emily shows up to their room All flustered Because of Richard's big news She ends up leaving to go for a walk And finds Richard in the lobby They talk it out They make up And then they go back to their room Uh, the next morning Everyone is going to leave Dean catches Rory and Jess making eyes at each other Rory and Lorelai take a sleigh ride home And see that somebody destroyed the fancy snowman

Hot take? I loved this episode What? This one was a lot of fun This was great First of all, we Too quickly One problem We did too quickly end fall Get right into winter Yeah, pretty crazy Last week kind of threw us off It was quite the jump

[00:10:26] And we were like Oh, apparently That little detour Went right around the city of fall And now it is Now it is winter It's Christmas Three episodes I think We covered all of fall or something But okay Although I love it so much in fall I wanted to see more But here we go The entire show Comes the independence in So fun And of course As we referenced earlier Guess who's back Back again Cousin Rune He's back again my friend This is wonderful Back again Man Christmas Cousin Rune Our national nightmare's over

Rune DiMaggio We were looking for it So it finally brought it back Really good stuff Rory might visit Christopher We don't know That would be cool Richard is back We haven't seen him in a little bit But he's totally out of it Still at the beginning Right? We haven't seen him too much No, it's been a few episodes That's right Correct But he has not been on in a row So it was just Jess It was just a fun episode Everybody is in this, right? Yeah Is Lane in this episode?

[00:11:55] I think since they cleared out Cousin Chad Michael Murray's contract They had so much money to pay everybody To get them going Yeah, that's right I think so That might have been just like Jalen Brunson clearing out his contract You get a hundred million He put back on the table Because he's the king of New York, everybody The king of New York That's right So That's why I turned down the hundred million You guys offered me So we could sign some guests at some point That's right It's really Speaking of yeah Brian whenever I'm in Greenville Kind of pops up out of nowhere

[00:12:25] Like Jess does when Rory's around It's kind of creepy Brian stop doing that Please Every time I tell Brian That you're coming to town And we have We're gonna go eat dinner He always says he has a conflict And then he always makes it work anyway I know He's always like Well my kids are There's two of their birthdays And it's my anniversary Did you ever say altar boys? No I was gonna say it's two of their birthdays I was like But I'm gonna make And then he's there It doesn't matter He's there every time He's just in the corner Yeah yeah yeah That one of the men's really handed me a towel

[00:12:54] That's right Yeah yeah yeah for sure Yeah yeah yeah He just stands off to the side He doesn't come join us But he just stands and watches Last time I fed him under the table It was weird It was weird It was weird when you fed him under the table That was a weird thing to do Weirder for him It was so weird yeah For sure I liked it Yeah So where are we? A hot take Great episode Lots of fun And everyone was there I wish we had more with all the characters And Jess jumping into the horse drawn carriage The most predictable plot line of the entire show so far But I loved it nonetheless

[00:13:23] I mean you can't smell horse drawn carriage without lurker You can This is my favorite episode of the show so far It's an all play It's around the holiday season It's fun It shows the quirkiness of the town We have some good A conversation between Luke and Lorelei We have a conversation between Jess and Rory This episode to me was clicking on all cylinders I felt like I was right there in the carriage with them

[00:13:52] Having myself a sleigh ride Sleigh ride So I had a great time I love this episode I think it's my favorite episode so far I had to get a little bit of thought Maybe for the ranking episode But I don't know if I can do that But I love this episode Dano If you don't like this episode You should stop watching Gilmore Girls I think this is The floor of this episode Is an 8 of 10 Gilmore Girls episode Floor of the ceiling Like even if you would rather have a more focused episode About one particular portion

[00:14:21] Of the lives of Rory and Lorelei Great That would be your only way to tell me This isn't the best one so far Between last week's episode Which I think is an absolute banger And this week's episode Show's clicking on all cylinders And finding a way to have everyone In one plot line In the hotel or the inn Was just fantastic I have very few qualms with this episode Aside from the most unrealistic scene Of this episode Which is Without a doubt Richard Talking to Emily

[00:14:51] Telling her exactly how he felt Offering a full Unadulterated apology And Emily For giving him There is no world Where those two Know how to have That conversation It doesn't exist That is not who those people are Aside from that one scene Give me this episode all day And twice on Sunday They might be able to have that conversation With each other It's not with their daughter That would That would That would Showcase that they are at least In some form or fashion

[00:15:20] Healthy And they are not There is no world Where Richard just goes Here's how I Here's how I felt Can they finally have a little bit of this Here's how I felt And it was about Him retiring on his own It was nothing about Anything important There's no world Where that happens Maybe they had a couple drinks At dinner That's not who they are It's just not They don't have that In their tool bag Not without therapy And a lot of working Do they have that conversation In their tool bag They just don't have it I celebrate the wins Yeah I celebrate the wins

[00:15:50] That conversation was bogus And completely unearned And you know what This episode is so good It might still be my favorite episode There you go Wow Yeah Wow Do you think after When they went up to the room Never mind I don't want to think Yeah Yeah they did it Yeah Well of course You think Lorelai will have a little sister Coming up maybe How old do you think they are Is this like an Abraham and Sarah situation Like what are we talking about That'd be great Then nine months from now If all of a sudden The baby shows up

[00:16:20] And starts out In Hartford If there are two people That do not need to sire another child It's Richard and Emily Gilmore Give it another go Please No Do not ever All right Let Amy Sherman Palladino Some Founders Day punch And write that episode And just jackhammer it in It'll work All right Didn't need jackhammer Let's get to all the feels Time for us to talk about When this episode gave us Feel some lines What you got Chad? Dan's line that he just said It was probably my favorite

[00:16:50] Oh man There were three great ones here Sookie When dinner is canceled She goes Oh I'm so mad I'm so sad I'm smad I don't know I thought that was funny That was funny I didn't see it coming I like that They're referencing jazz legend Charlie Parker Yes Charlie Parker had more drugs Than a Rite Aid That was my line That's mine Charlie Parker had more drugs Than a Rite Aid Really good line It's good to see Bad again It's good to see Bad again And there was one more When Richard and Emily Walk in Lorelei She just throws it out There quickly

The Joyless Luck Club Oh yeah Another great one Yeah Just a lot of I mean I had one I narrowed it down I had two And it was Joyless Luck I narrowed it down to one Because we all do one And Chad did three And he took mine So everything's fine So move on to the next episode I liked Rory Sees Dean And his sister And she comments On her dress And she's like Is that Some sort of brand And she's like No it's It's a Walmart

[00:17:50] Which I loved It's a Walmart That's like us On the deckies It's an Amazon It's an Amazon It's a prun Which I really appreciate Paul's daughter That's who she's referencing That designer Oh there you go Paul McCartney's daughter But also At the end there When Dean goes to leave Jess and Rory Make eyes with each other They're clear And Rory's doing this thing That she's kind of like Oh shucks One of those things And Dean looks over And sees them It's quick It's like Two seconds maybe

[00:18:20] But boy Did that tell a story Very excited To see where we go here That was good That's good stuff And just to once again Go back to last week's episode And not knowing When it took place Like she does Kind of that same thing Where she With Tristan Right before Tristan Is about to leave And he's like I'd kiss you But your boyfriend's Right there And she kind of does This aw shucks Look And the chemistry That those two have Is Rory's better Than the chemistry

[00:18:50] She has with us So that short Tiny little scene There of two seconds May have been undercut By the same scene That happened The episode before That was kind of Out of order But nevertheless It was good I remember She just started acting With this show She only has so many looks She can get That's true That's true Chad took my quote But I do have a feels Which is You know We get a lot of messages Emails, comments And chat people On this show Because people Care so much about it And so

[00:20:17] Of the Gilmore Girls It's a good one There's snow There's sleigh rides But are there Wait what That's what we're Going to talk about I'll start with you Chad What in this episode Made you go Wait what That was beautiful One we touched on Already Was that it's Winter break So it's ostensibly The last week Before Christmas Or so And three episodes Ago was fall In the beginning Of the school year And I was bummed About that Because I was Really enjoying Fall The fall decorations I thought there Could be a lot more With fall Why rush it To the end of that

[00:20:47] But it is We already covered that Christopher Or Chris Or Chris Whatever you call him Yeah That's right He At the beginning Of this series When we were first Introduced to him They say he calls weekly And speaks to them weekly And I thought that was Maybe too frequent And then Morby goes Have you heard from dad He usually calls Quote This time of year In other words He calls seasonally Yeah It was a weird line And I I think that What The way that I Took that

[00:21:16] Was There was a Clear call That happens Every year On top of the Weekly ones And Rory's like I feel like we Should have heard This call by now But it still Was super weird But I think They were just Driving home the point How crazy it is That Lorelai Didn't tell her Because it's crazy That Lorelai Didn't tell her Like it's more Selfish to me That Like In the episode Two episodes ago Which feels like A lifetime ago I know it does To all of us But when she gets Really mad at Suki She's clearly Working through Her own things And she's

[00:21:46] Reflecting them On to Suki And we all know That that's not Suki That's Lorelai In this situation I think we're Supposed to think The same thing But this is just Download dirty This is just Being a bad parent And a bad person And so But that line I remember hearing it And just kind of like Went Calls his time A year I'm like Good thing We didn't make it real Like storing the virtues Of why Lorelai Should be with Christopher Because I would have Been really embarrassed Yeah that would have Been really stupid If we'd done that And I want to be clear I think we got a lot Of pushback in the comments There I don't think She should end up

[00:22:16] With him I just think Their chemistry Is crazy good I don't want her To end up with him To be clear Like I don't I don't think He calls weekly There's been nothing Said in this show About him being Present in the least There is There is If you go back On it's like The very first episode Where Chris is introduced They say he calls weekly And I pointed out I thought it was so weird Because he didn't know About Dean Who she's already been Dating for a few months I go Why did they make it That frequent They should have said Monthly or whatever You can't have it both ways

[00:22:45] You can't have a guy Who calls his daughter Weekly but the guy Doesn't pay child support You can't You can't have it both ways This show's trying to Make Christopher Too many things Exactly Yeah They do have great chemistry But you're right They shouldn't necessarily End up together 100% Your life should end up With Rune We all agree Yeah I think That's a no brainer After those thighs We saw those thighs We're shipping Lorun Lai I believe is the name Lorun Lai Lorun Lai Lorun Lai Lorun Lai Their celebrity name That's right Love that

[00:23:15] Anything else Chad That was it for my Wait what Just a couple Team Lorun Lai's Shirts would fly off The shelves So easy to say Go to the merch store There's so many sleighs Guys this is a lot of sleighs It's a lot of horses This is enough Horse and carriages For everybody at the end That's right That's a lot That's a lot A lot of money To pay for that evening That you didn't make any money on Because of the Chicago thing Right But you know what We've been in a situation Dan where you have it We've taken a bath

[00:23:45] We have it here It would make more sense To cancel But we've already Put it out We can't get the money So I get it They paid in full though They do manage It does seem that way That's true Yeah it does seem that way Luke without a hat Seems wrong He shows up Did that to dinner And he's not wearing his hat And I'm like Oh this is why He wears a hat Because it didn't seem right And I didn't like it And I would like my Luke To always have a hat on Please and thank you At one point

[00:24:15] Dean's sister says Can I go eat dessert With the horses No ma'am You may not It's freezing It's freezing out there Horses are nuts Sometimes You can't be eating dessert With the horses Out in the middle of winter New England winter It's crazy It's a crazy thing to ask Last but not least Richard and Emily Don't strike me As the robes In a hotel lobby type Nope Both of those two people Are like

[00:24:44] He would not Step outside of his room Not in a suit He would maybe Wear his own Take his own robe To a hotel Which he may have But I don't think He would have left his room No I agree I agree I'm always wearing a suit And then she's Emily is going to take A walk in her robe I don't They are very Prim and proper And the We are in a public place Now is the time To robe out The lunacy of that Conversation Yeah They don't strike me As a system Dana

[00:25:13] So I know that The Chicago folks Paid in advance Did they pay For them to keep The horses and sleighs There all night long To give morning rides As well Seems like a big Financial commitment Because in the morning Lorelei and Rory Take a horse-drawn sleigh Home Yeah And that Like You rent horse-drawn sleighs For an evening You're probably out some money Yeah You rent them for an evening And for the next morning

[00:25:42] Seems a little bit overkill Just a little bit This predates Uber So they're a lot more prevalent They're just out in the valley Oh you think they were Like taxis And you know what we call them Neighbors Oh Instead of Uber Neighbors Neighbors Right Hey good one Hey Oh my goodness Carrots I don't know Yeah So Mrs. Kim and Lane Show up to stay in the hotel And Lorelei's like Where's your bag And she holds up The tiniest little bag And she said This is all my stuff

[00:26:11] People have too much stuff Says Mrs. Kim Who runs a store Jam-packed with stuff Hanging from the ceilings Of all the characters To say that people Have too much stuff It's weird She makes a living Off of selling Right Stuff But no you know what That's not her stuff She's so smart She doesn't need all that No It's just jams Cluttered everywhere Make you know She knows people need stuff People need stuff I don't need Why is it all cluttered then In the house She has too much stuff

[00:26:40] She has too much stuff Thank you Banking on Again she doesn't want She doesn't want it I have two more Both are gonna bother Bray and I would assume The first I finally just wrote it down At some point It's just not charming To never make a move It's It is just You are in a sleigh You're in a horse Drawn sleigh Dude Right Like Like At some point It's not charming

[00:27:09] It's not part of your appeal It's not Fun Funny Cool Impressive It's Just Bad Like There Guys This is We're 30 some episodes in I think that's well Within the right time I thought I don't think we've pushed To get it I don't disagree There will be a time Where it's like And we've not hit it yet No no I'm saying Like in general With a TV show There is a time Where it's like Okay you just gotta tell

[00:27:39] I don't think I'm there yet That's insanity I'm enjoying the journey These two characters have Like Known each other For a long time Before this show started Right but we haven't Okay Well that leans into my second one So I'm glad we're here Thanks for For helping me there That's what I'm doing It is one of the most romantic Rides you can take together Would have been a nice time To shoot your shot Jess yep Pretty good one Jess has an opportune time With Rory to be just with her And is as impressive as Jess Has been in this show so far Okay

[00:28:09] And makes the point That with Dean What do you do You go on dates And then you basically Explain literature to him And basically makes the point That not being intellectually In the kind of the same ballpark With someone Could cause a big problem In a relationship Have you met Lorelai and Luke Have you met them Right right Have you met them This guy's dumb as a box Of hammers And she Knows every reference Under the sun If Dean Is not good enough For Rory Luke

[00:28:38] Is not anywhere Near good enough For Lorelai But Jess only cares about If he's good enough For Rory Correct But the point He's making Is a Like I like Dean Still I still think Dean Is a stand up dude But there is no mistake That he's a blue collar Working class And I think it's fine For a blue collar Working class dude To end up with a white collar Lady like or whatever Like I think that's fine But the If Jess's point is You're not gonna make it With Dean Because at the end of the day You're just not compatible You know

[00:29:07] You're intellectually Working on a level He's not working on That is Luke gang That's Lorelai and Luke He should be self eliminated Based on the fact That Lorelai is incredibly Smart, successful And ambitious And Luke Is Luke That should be done We should be done With this conversation Jess's point is well taken Apply it to the two main characters Please Thank you Back to you Brian Does Dean know What an LLC is Brother Is he able

[00:29:37] To You know At his age I bet he knows more Than Luke did Oh my gosh Unbelievable Sometimes there's more Than just intellect There's love There's a lot Listen You don't have to be I want to I want to make it very clear I don't personally believe That two people Have to be intellectually compatible To have a successful relationship I'm saying that in this show There is a clear push Right now That Jess is making About Dean That we are supposed To somewhat buy That Jess is a better Match for Dean Because Jess reads These books

[00:30:07] And he gets her On a deeper level To kill a mockingbird At the very least Yeah But like He gets her on a level That Dean just doesn't Get her on That Is the most True thing That we could say About Lorelai and Luke Jess is arguing Against Luke That's right Interesting I don't know I start dating I start dating my wife Because I gave her a copy Of Alan Ginsberg's Howl And she's like Wow you're well read So we were dating That's it That's how it happened

[00:30:35] Alan Ginsberg gets the ladies Every time I don't Exactly There is absolutely A parallel And they've made it In the show To Dean and Luke Luke I do think That the show Has gone out of its way To make Rory Intellectually Superior To everyone Including her mom Like I don't think That they Like she is Super smart Like to your point Lorelai knows The references Yeah

[00:31:04] Like pop culture references But Lorelai's pretty bright I don't disagree But they But Rory is Reading non-stop I mean She's going to a Like But last episode He said That Lorelai was Intellectually superior Than Luke And you didn't blink You said You thought That was fine That he said That last episode And this episode I didn't catch it I clocked it immediately I was like This is going to play great I think both Lorelai And Luke Are quite smart No I think Lorelai Is also intellectually Superior to Luke And I think
