Tory is still single, much to her Bubby’s chagrin. Tory explains she’s just too busy right now, trying to make partner. Speaking of which, she rushes out of Bubby’s breakfast to make it to work. She’s swamped and ends up falling asleep at her desk. But all this work may be for naught. The company is going to experience some layoffs due to a merger, and it doesn’t take long for her to get the boot.
Cut to Rocky’s bar. We meet Sam and his grandson, Jay. Jay is here on a mission—convince Sam to move closer to his family. When the regulars at the bar find out, they’re very mad. Sam is an institution! But Sam also recently fell, though he insists he’s fine.
Tory talks to her parents but can’t quite bear to tell them she was fired. She goes to visit her sister, and apparently it’s been a while because her nephew doesn’t even recognize her.
The next day, both Tory and Jay end up at the store to pick up some Hanukkah candles. There’s only one pack left, and they argue a bit. Ultimately, Jay ends up with them.
As she leaves the store, Tory sees Jay walking into Rocky’s. She follows him in, and walks out with a bartending job. Sam is pumped because he likes talking to her and calls her the granddaughter he never had.
Sam loves Rocky’s. It was a special spot for him and his late wife, and he insists on celebrating the first night of Hanukkah inside Rocky’s.
Jay and Tory end up spending more time together and start enjoying each other's company.
Rocky’s begins to become the go-to spot for Hanukkah, and the pair is thriving. Everything is going great, except for when Tory’s parents surprise her by showing up in the city.
It’s clear the sparks are flying between Jay and Tory, but he’s only here for two weeks. Jay starts to realize that this place, and this community Sam has built, is pretty wonderful.
Turns out, Sam owns the bar and the entire building—but no one knows. He wants to leave it all to Jay and wants Tory to help make that happen legally.
The word finally gets out that Tory was fired, and her mom cries. It’s the first time I’ve been on the side of someone lying.
Then, word gets out that Sam owns the building when someone comes in to make an offer on it. Jay gets mad that Tory kept this from him, so Sam pulls them both aside, sets the record straight, and tells Jay to get over it.
Sam tells Tory he wants to move here, and we get a TRIPLE almost kiss moment. They head downstairs to celebrate another night and share a big kiss after lighting the menorah.

[00:00:05] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm Brian, I like Hallmark Hanukkah movies.
[00:00:09] [SPEAKER_01]: Uh oh.
[00:00:09] [SPEAKER_04]: Is Brian okay?
[00:00:11] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm Dan, I despise Hallmark Hanukkah movies and this is the Deck The Hallmark Podcast.
[00:00:17] [SPEAKER_02]: Deck The Hallmark, it's his podcast.
[00:00:21] [SPEAKER_02]: And friends host this podcast.
[00:00:28] [SPEAKER_02]: We hope you like this jolly podcast.
[00:00:35] [SPEAKER_01]: Alright.
[00:00:36] [SPEAKER_01]: I think it was a double A.
[00:00:38] [SPEAKER_01]: I turned you back on.
[00:00:38] [SPEAKER_01]: Thank you.
[00:00:39] [SPEAKER_01]: I feel good.
[00:00:40] [SPEAKER_01]: It's a quick reboot.
[00:00:41] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, it's just a quick unplug and plug back in.
[00:00:43] [SPEAKER_04]: Sometimes you have to do that.
[00:00:44] [SPEAKER_04]: Soft reset for Brian.
[00:00:45] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, Brian needs a soft reset.
[00:00:46] [SPEAKER_04]: You really locked up there, are you okay?
[00:00:48] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that was a real good one.
[00:00:49] [SPEAKER_01]: That was a real good one.
[00:00:50] [SPEAKER_01]: That was a real good one.
[00:00:50] [SPEAKER_01]: That was due.
[00:00:51] [SPEAKER_01]: That was overdue.
[00:00:52] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah, it's been a while.
[00:00:53] [SPEAKER_01]: For sure.
[00:00:54] [SPEAKER_03]: Hey Aaron, you still keeping tally of Christmas movie magic scores?
[00:00:59] [SPEAKER_00]: I was never keeping tally, but I still play it with every movie I watch.
[00:01:04] [SPEAKER_03]: How does it operate with the Hanukkah movie?
[00:01:06] [SPEAKER_03]: Did you get a lot of points with the Hanukkah movie?
[00:01:09] [SPEAKER_00]: Less points.
[00:01:10] [SPEAKER_03]: Fewer points.
[00:01:11] [SPEAKER_03]: There you go.
[00:01:12] [SPEAKER_03]: Bigger challenge.
[00:01:14] [SPEAKER_00]: There are five blank cards in the deck.
[00:01:17] [SPEAKER_00]: You could always throw like a menorah or something on there.
[00:01:19] [SPEAKER_00]: That's true.
[00:01:20] [SPEAKER_00]: It did still have some holiday feels and tropes, but there wasn't a Christmas tree or ornaments.
[00:01:27] [SPEAKER_03]: The expansion pack maybe.
[00:01:31] [SPEAKER_03]: Family heirlooms.
[00:01:32] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, we had one of those.
[00:01:33] [SPEAKER_00]: Etc.
[00:01:34] [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I still got a fair amount of cards played on par with the rest of the season,
[00:01:39] [SPEAKER_00]: but it wasn't like a believe in Christmas where I made it like 70 cards.
[00:01:44] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
[00:01:46] [SPEAKER_03]: You can still get the game if you want to.
[00:01:47] [SPEAKER_03]: TheHommer.com slash game.
[00:01:48] [SPEAKER_03]: We'd love for you to get it.
[00:01:49] [SPEAKER_03]: It's a lot of fun.
[00:01:50] [SPEAKER_03]: And not just for made for TV movies, but for Christmas movies of all sorts.
[00:01:54] [SPEAKER_03]: Come on.
[00:01:54] [SPEAKER_03]: It's great to play all your own.
[00:01:55] [SPEAKER_03]: I'm watching Jingle All the Way this weekend with my brother and I'm going to play this
[00:01:58] [SPEAKER_03]: game with him.
[00:01:58] [SPEAKER_03]: Working on an expansion pack, I think.
[00:02:00] [SPEAKER_03]: I think we're going to try to work on one of those.
[00:02:02] [SPEAKER_03]: Expansion.
[00:02:02] [SPEAKER_04]: Christmas movie magic expansion pack.
[00:02:04] [SPEAKER_05]: Wah wah wah.
[00:02:05] [SPEAKER_04]: That's exactly right.
[00:02:06] [SPEAKER_01]: That's where you use it.
[00:02:07] [SPEAKER_04]: And I was like this.
[00:02:09] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, that is the whole point of that.
[00:02:13] [SPEAKER_04]: Brandon, we're getting close to Christmas Day.
[00:02:15] [SPEAKER_04]: And I know that you get sad.
[00:02:18] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:02:18] [SPEAKER_04]: But how great is it going to be?
[00:02:20] [SPEAKER_04]: You have all these movies on your DVR file or DVR.
[00:02:22] [SPEAKER_03]: I'm excited about it.
[00:02:23] [SPEAKER_03]: You just crank it back up.
[00:02:24] [SPEAKER_03]: The amount that we already have is exciting and exhilarating.
[00:02:29] [SPEAKER_03]: And whenever they air, you know, they like resaves it, you know?
[00:02:33] [SPEAKER_03]: And so it's when they do that thing.
[00:02:36] [SPEAKER_03]: I think on like Christmas Eve or Christmas Day, Hallmark plays with limited commercials.
[00:02:40] [SPEAKER_03]: I got them on the limit.
[00:02:42] [SPEAKER_03]: It's a good copy.
[00:02:42] [SPEAKER_03]: It's a great copy.
[00:02:43] [SPEAKER_04]: One button ad skip, obviously.
[00:02:45] [SPEAKER_03]: You can still do the one button ad skip and then bada bing.
[00:02:48] [SPEAKER_03]: The one button ad skip.
[00:02:49] [SPEAKER_03]: That's exactly right.
[00:02:50] [SPEAKER_03]: That's what it said here.
[00:02:51] [SPEAKER_03]: It's not my fault.
[00:02:51] [SPEAKER_03]: That's right.
[00:02:52] [SPEAKER_03]: It's in the copy.
[00:02:53] [SPEAKER_03]: I'm excited about that.
[00:02:54] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it is.
[00:02:55] [SPEAKER_03]: Because I get, you know, I got to dust them back out every once in a while.
[00:02:58] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, you got to dust them back out.
[00:02:59] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[00:03:02] [SPEAKER_03]: All right.
[00:03:03] [SPEAKER_03]: I'm glad we did it.
[00:03:05] [SPEAKER_03]: Oh, man, that was a big one.
[00:03:07] [SPEAKER_03]: Getting your eye.
[00:03:07] [SPEAKER_03]: There's some dust in there.
[00:03:08] [SPEAKER_03]: That was crazy.
[00:03:09] [SPEAKER_03]: Those are the October movies.
[00:03:10] [SPEAKER_03]: The October movies have gotten some dust on them.
[00:03:13] [SPEAKER_03]: And then it was the night.
[00:03:14] [SPEAKER_03]: The date.
[00:03:14] [SPEAKER_01]: It was the day before Christmas.
[00:03:16] [SPEAKER_01]: Is that the first one?
[00:03:17] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[00:03:18] [SPEAKER_01]: Or is it holidays or crashers?
[00:03:20] [SPEAKER_01]: Quality crash.
[00:03:20] [SPEAKER_03]: What was the day was the first one holiday crashers was the second one years ago.
[00:03:24] [SPEAKER_03]: Twisted dates a bad title.
[00:03:26] [SPEAKER_04]: It's a bad title.
[00:03:27] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[00:03:28] [SPEAKER_03]: Cause I don't really like, like, I feel like I need to watch those two movies again.
[00:03:32] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean, I'm not get out, but I feel like you could though.
[00:03:34] [SPEAKER_04]: They're on the DVR.
[00:03:35] [SPEAKER_04]: They're on the DVR.
[00:03:36] [SPEAKER_04]: You're ready to go.
[00:03:36] [SPEAKER_04]: Dust them off.
[00:03:38] [SPEAKER_04]: Dust them off.
[00:03:38] [SPEAKER_04]: Again, it is.
[00:03:39] [SPEAKER_03]: Hey, can I ask you guys a quick question?
[00:03:41] [SPEAKER_03]: The other day I was in the grocery store.
[00:03:43] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[00:03:43] [SPEAKER_03]: And I saw a couple of packs of cookies, right?
[00:03:48] [SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
[00:03:49] [SPEAKER_03]: So a couple packs, a couple packs of cookies, different, different shapes, different sizes,
[00:03:54] [SPEAKER_03]: you know, holiday cookies.
[00:03:55] [SPEAKER_03]: So I purchased them and I went home and I opened up the first bag and I ate them all
[00:04:01] [SPEAKER_03]: really quickly.
[00:04:02] [SPEAKER_03]: Doctor approved.
[00:04:04] [SPEAKER_03]: And my tummy hurt.
[00:04:05] [SPEAKER_03]: I went back the next day, opened up the second bag.
[00:04:08] [SPEAKER_04]: Went ham there as well.
[00:04:09] [SPEAKER_03]: Well, I was beginning to, and then I realized something.
[00:04:13] [SPEAKER_03]: The record.
[00:04:13] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[00:04:14] [SPEAKER_03]: They had something carved into them and carved into one of the cookies was how was your weekend?
[00:04:18] [SPEAKER_04]: Dan knows about something national something.
[00:04:20] [SPEAKER_03]: It was how was your weekend.
[00:04:22] [SPEAKER_03]: And I know we're deep into this week.
[00:04:23] [SPEAKER_03]: What day of the week is it, right?
[00:04:24] [SPEAKER_03]: That's a good question.
[00:04:25] [SPEAKER_03]: I think it's Thursday.
[00:04:26] [SPEAKER_03]: I think it's Thursday.
[00:04:27] [SPEAKER_03]: Oh, big week.
[00:04:28] [SPEAKER_03]: It's Thursday.
[00:04:29] [SPEAKER_03]: I think it's Thursday.
[00:04:31] [SPEAKER_03]: It's Thursday.
[00:04:31] [SPEAKER_03]: But again, I just got the cookies.
[00:04:33] [SPEAKER_03]: We were in New Jersey all week.
[00:04:34] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[00:04:35] [SPEAKER_04]: And we talked about that ad nauseum.
[00:04:37] [SPEAKER_03]: I know that we did, but I bought the cookies.
[00:04:40] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[00:04:40] [SPEAKER_03]: So just following the rules.
[00:04:42] [SPEAKER_04]: Your stomach was hurt.
[00:04:42] [SPEAKER_04]: You had to tell us at the very least.
[00:04:44] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:04:44] [SPEAKER_04]: I had to at least tell you.
[00:04:45] [SPEAKER_04]: I had to at least tell you.
[00:04:47] [SPEAKER_04]: It was good actually.
[00:04:48] [SPEAKER_03]: How was your drive back?
[00:04:49] [SPEAKER_04]: Brian, Aaron and I had a really fun road trip back from New Jersey to South Carolina
[00:04:55] [SPEAKER_04]: and we did it.
[00:04:55] [SPEAKER_04]: We basically went to see some snow.
[00:04:57] [SPEAKER_04]: We went from New Jersey, went through a snow storm from New Jersey to the Asheville airport
[00:05:01] [SPEAKER_04]: in roughly 10 hours.
[00:05:03] [SPEAKER_04]: Wow.
[00:05:03] [SPEAKER_04]: So crush that.
[00:05:04] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:05:05] [SPEAKER_04]: Obviously.
[00:05:06] [SPEAKER_04]: It was pretty awesome.
[00:05:07] [SPEAKER_04]: And then.
[00:05:07] [SPEAKER_03]: And you guys only threatened to throw Brian out three, four times.
[00:05:11] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[00:05:11] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean, you know, there was a few.
[00:05:12] [SPEAKER_04]: There was a little bit of Brian shade.
[00:05:14] [SPEAKER_04]: Fair amount of time.
[00:05:15] [SPEAKER_04]: Go ahead, Aaron.
[00:05:16] [SPEAKER_04]: Hi, Aaron.
[00:05:16] [SPEAKER_00]: I was gonna say, I think I volunteered to jump out of the car more than we threatened
[00:05:20] [SPEAKER_00]: to throw Brian out of it.
[00:05:21] [SPEAKER_01]: It is easier.
[00:05:23] [SPEAKER_01]: Did he tell you about the fun prank we played?
[00:05:25] [SPEAKER_01]: Where you drove for a second?
[00:05:27] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[00:05:27] [SPEAKER_04]: You guys, you know, that's my go to.
[00:05:29] [SPEAKER_04]: It's not allowed.
[00:05:30] [SPEAKER_03]: So on the way up to the Asheville airport, we do it.
[00:05:33] [SPEAKER_03]: We do it.
[00:05:33] [SPEAKER_03]: We did this thing to Brian where we used to do it to Panda all the time.
[00:05:36] [SPEAKER_03]: We get back in the car and Dan will.
[00:05:38] [SPEAKER_03]: He's still in the convenience store.
[00:05:40] [SPEAKER_03]: Yes.
[00:05:40] [SPEAKER_04]: We move parking spots to where we can still see him, but he won't immediately see us coming
[00:05:45] [SPEAKER_04]: out.
[00:05:45] [SPEAKER_04]: Great bit.
[00:05:45] [SPEAKER_04]: It's a fun bit.
[00:05:46] [SPEAKER_04]: If you know somebody really well, they're looking around like what the.
[00:05:49] [SPEAKER_03]: And you're saying you did that today.
[00:05:52] [SPEAKER_03]: That's right.
[00:05:53] [SPEAKER_04]: You left the keys in the car.
[00:05:54] [SPEAKER_04]: So very rare.
[00:05:55] [SPEAKER_04]: So he's asking.
[00:05:57] [SPEAKER_04]: We went to.
[00:05:58] [SPEAKER_04]: We stopped and we went into a gas station.
[00:06:01] [SPEAKER_04]: The diet coke was out.
[00:06:03] [SPEAKER_04]: The cold, the cold brew is out.
[00:06:05] [SPEAKER_04]: Everything was out.
[00:06:05] [SPEAKER_04]: I needed caffeine as my last caffeine stop.
[00:06:07] [SPEAKER_04]: So there was a sheets gas station right up the street.
[00:06:11] [SPEAKER_04]: Well, those two guys are didn't need to get back out again.
[00:06:14] [SPEAKER_04]: I did.
[00:06:14] [SPEAKER_04]: So when we get the sheets, I get in car running.
[00:06:17] [SPEAKER_04]: I leave the car running.
[00:06:18] [SPEAKER_04]: I leave the car running.
[00:06:18] [SPEAKER_04]: And that bit me because I walked out and they got me.
[00:06:21] [SPEAKER_04]: They got me good.
[00:06:22] [SPEAKER_04]: They got me good.
[00:06:23] [SPEAKER_03]: Were you nervous at all?
[00:06:25] [SPEAKER_04]: No, I walked out.
[00:06:26] [SPEAKER_04]: I went, what the?
[00:06:27] [SPEAKER_04]: And then I looked over and they're over there laughing.
[00:06:28] [SPEAKER_04]: It was perfect.
[00:06:29] [SPEAKER_04]: It was very, very nicely done.
[00:06:31] [SPEAKER_03]: You see, it's a good thing I asked.
[00:06:33] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[00:06:33] [SPEAKER_03]: For some reason, you didn't share that story on Tuesday's episode, which was weird.
[00:06:36] [SPEAKER_03]: We could have, but we didn't.
[00:06:37] [SPEAKER_04]: We could have shared it on Tuesday.
[00:06:38] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[00:06:39] [SPEAKER_03]: But that's why I do it.
[00:06:40] [SPEAKER_03]: That's why I do it.
[00:06:41] [SPEAKER_04]: We ate a lot of gas station food.
[00:06:42] [SPEAKER_04]: That's exactly right.
[00:06:42] [SPEAKER_04]: And then we had the best Bojangles experience of my life.
[00:06:45] [SPEAKER_00]: I was going to say, you had some really good.
[00:06:46] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[00:06:47] [SPEAKER_01]: You did.
[00:06:47] [SPEAKER_01]: Of his life.
[00:06:48] [SPEAKER_04]: I stopped at Bojangles for dinner and I said, I just want two Cajun filet biscuits.
[00:06:52] [SPEAKER_04]: And she said, it's going to be about five to six minutes.
[00:06:54] [SPEAKER_04]: And I made it in my head.
[00:06:55] [SPEAKER_04]: I made a determination.
[00:06:57] [SPEAKER_04]: We're making such good time.
[00:06:58] [SPEAKER_04]: Yes.
[00:06:58] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't want to stop anywhere else.
[00:07:00] [SPEAKER_04]: Let's do it.
[00:07:00] [SPEAKER_04]: And she was like, after, after eight o'clock at night, I'm a make it to order person.
[00:07:05] [SPEAKER_04]: Cause I want your Bojangles experience to be great.
[00:07:07] [SPEAKER_04]: That's what she said to me.
[00:07:09] [SPEAKER_04]: And oh my gosh, Bran.
[00:07:11] [SPEAKER_03]: You should have said, could you throw in some fries?
[00:07:13] [SPEAKER_04]: At that point I really should have.
[00:07:14] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[00:07:15] [SPEAKER_03]: Cause he's got to do it anyway.
[00:07:16] [SPEAKER_04]: I had been eating literally fries equivalent all day.
[00:07:20] [SPEAKER_04]: Like just, just French fries or chips and Twizzlers.
[00:07:25] [SPEAKER_04]: Like I needed something, not that.
[00:07:26] [SPEAKER_04]: But the, the Cajun filet biscuit was a level that I could never even dream to attain again.
[00:07:33] [SPEAKER_04]: It was unbelievable.
[00:07:34] [SPEAKER_04]: Wow.
[00:07:34] [SPEAKER_04]: Unbelievable.
[00:07:35] [SPEAKER_04]: So a lot of fun was had and we made it back safely.
[00:07:37] [SPEAKER_03]: That's beautiful.
[00:07:37] [SPEAKER_03]: I love that.
[00:07:38] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[00:07:38] [SPEAKER_03]: Let's talk Hanukkah on the rocks.
[00:07:40] [SPEAKER_03]: Shall we?
[00:07:41] [SPEAKER_03]: Originally on December 13th, 2024 on the homework channel.
[00:07:44] [SPEAKER_03]: Went a little something like this.
[00:07:46] [SPEAKER_03]: Uh, Tori is single much to her Bubby chagrin.
[00:07:49] [SPEAKER_03]: Uh, Tori explains that she's just too busy right now.
[00:07:53] [SPEAKER_03]: She's trying to make partner at the law firm.
[00:07:55] [SPEAKER_03]: Speaking of which she rushes out of Bubby's breakfast to make it to work.
[00:07:59] [SPEAKER_03]: She's swamped and she ends up falling asleep at her desk again.
[00:08:03] [SPEAKER_03]: Am I right, Bri?
[00:08:04] [SPEAKER_03]: Yes.
[00:08:06] [SPEAKER_03]: But I, uh, but all this work may be for not because the company is going to experience
[00:08:12] [SPEAKER_03]: some layoffs due to a merger and it doesn't take long for those, uh, layoffs to hit her.
[00:08:19] [SPEAKER_03]: She's getting the boot.
[00:08:20] [SPEAKER_03]: Cut to Rocky's bar.
[00:08:22] [SPEAKER_03]: We meet Sam who's always there and his grandson Jay who's never there.
[00:08:26] [SPEAKER_03]: Jay is on a mission.
[00:08:28] [SPEAKER_03]: He's come up to the city to convince Sam to move closer to the family.
[00:08:33] [SPEAKER_03]: When, um, the regulars from the bar find this out, they're very mad.
[00:08:37] [SPEAKER_03]: Sam's an institution.
[00:08:38] [SPEAKER_03]: He's always here, but Sam is reluctant and says, I don't want to do this.
[00:08:44] [SPEAKER_03]: Even though I recently fell and be at it be in everybody's best interest, including mine,
[00:08:47] [SPEAKER_03]: to be closer to family in case something like this happens again.
[00:08:51] [SPEAKER_03]: I'm always here.
[00:08:52] [SPEAKER_03]: I don't want to leave the bar.
[00:08:55] [SPEAKER_03]: Tori talks to her parents.
[00:08:56] [SPEAKER_03]: Who wants to be a millionaire?
[00:08:57] [SPEAKER_03]: That's right.
[00:08:58] [SPEAKER_03]: Tori wants, uh, to, uh, talks to her parents, but can't quite bear the thought of telling
[00:09:03] [SPEAKER_03]: them that she was fired.
[00:09:04] [SPEAKER_03]: So she doesn't do that.
[00:09:06] [SPEAKER_03]: She, uh, goes to visit her sister and apparently it's been a while since her nephew, uh, just
[00:09:11] [SPEAKER_03]: does not recognize his aunt at all.
[00:09:14] [SPEAKER_03]: That's how you know it's been maybe a little bit too long.
[00:09:16] [SPEAKER_03]: Uh, the next day, both Tori and Jay end up at the store to pick up Hanukkah candles.
[00:09:21] [SPEAKER_03]: There's only one pack left and they argue a bit about who's going to get it.
[00:09:25] [SPEAKER_03]: Ultimately Jay walks out with them.
[00:09:27] [SPEAKER_03]: Jay walk.
[00:09:27] [SPEAKER_03]: Jay walking.
[00:09:28] [SPEAKER_03]: Um, as, uh, walking, uh, walking in winter wonderland.
[00:09:33] [SPEAKER_03]: Nailed it.
[00:09:34] [SPEAKER_03]: Um, Ash.
[00:09:35] [SPEAKER_03]: We need to unplug you.
[00:09:36] [SPEAKER_03]: Sorry.
[00:09:38] [SPEAKER_03]: I think about Christmas songs a lot.
[00:09:40] [SPEAKER_03]: Um, this is Christopher walking.
[00:09:47] [SPEAKER_04]: That's the worst.
[00:09:48] [SPEAKER_04]: It's the worst.
[00:09:49] [SPEAKER_04]: It's hard to do a bad walking.
[00:09:51] [SPEAKER_04]: It's me.
[00:09:52] [SPEAKER_02]: It's me.
[00:09:53] [SPEAKER_02]: Christopher walking.
[00:09:56] [SPEAKER_04]: It's all right.
[00:09:57] [SPEAKER_04]: We both have to try to do a worse Christopher walk in the day and try.
[00:10:00] [SPEAKER_04]: Okay.
[00:10:02] [SPEAKER_04]: Walking in a winter wonderland.
[00:10:04] [SPEAKER_03]: It's pretty good.
[00:10:05] [SPEAKER_03]: I'm walking in a winter wonderland.
[00:10:08] [SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
[00:10:08] [SPEAKER_03]: Let me try one more time.
[00:10:09] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm walking.
[00:10:11] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh boy.
[00:10:12] [SPEAKER_02]: In a winter wonderland.
[00:10:15] [SPEAKER_03]: I'm walking here.
[00:10:17] [SPEAKER_03]: Uh, the next day.
[00:10:18] [SPEAKER_03]: Uh, I'm walking here as, uh, as she leaves.
[00:10:23] [SPEAKER_03]: Where's Chris Palaha when you need him?
[00:10:24] [SPEAKER_03]: When you need him.
[00:10:25] [SPEAKER_03]: Um, as she leaves the store, Tori sees Jay walking, Jay walking into Rocky's.
[00:10:32] [SPEAKER_03]: We're walking in a winter wonderland.
[00:10:35] [SPEAKER_03]: It's for walking.
[00:10:36] [SPEAKER_03]: I'm walking in.
[00:10:37] [SPEAKER_03]: Uh, she follows the man and walks out with a bartending job.
[00:10:41] [SPEAKER_03]: Who hasn't?
[00:10:42] [SPEAKER_03]: Sam is pumped because he takes a liking to her and calls her the granddaughter that he
[00:10:47] [SPEAKER_03]: never had.
[00:10:48] [SPEAKER_03]: Sam.
[00:10:49] [SPEAKER_03]: Once again, fricking loves Rocky's.
[00:10:51] [SPEAKER_03]: Uh, it's a very special spot for him and his late wife.
[00:10:54] [SPEAKER_03]: And he insists on celebrating the first night of Hanukkah inside Rocky's.
[00:10:59] [SPEAKER_03]: And it really takes off.
[00:11:00] [SPEAKER_03]: Jay and Tori ended up spending more time together and started enjoying each other's
[00:11:03] [SPEAKER_03]: company.
[00:11:04] [SPEAKER_03]: Rocky's begins to become the go-to spot for Hanukkah.
[00:11:07] [SPEAKER_03]: And the pair is thriving.
[00:11:10] [SPEAKER_03]: They love each other and they love Hanukkah.
[00:11:13] [SPEAKER_03]: Everything is going great except for when Tori's parents surprised her by showing up in
[00:11:17] [SPEAKER_03]: the city.
[00:11:18] [SPEAKER_03]: Cause you know, she has to tell them that she got fired in the shower.
[00:11:22] [SPEAKER_03]: Um, it's clear that the sparks are flying between Jay and Tori, but he's only there for
[00:11:27] [SPEAKER_03]: two weeks.
[00:11:27] [SPEAKER_03]: So who really cares?
[00:11:29] [SPEAKER_03]: Jay starts to realize that this place is special in the community that Sam has built.
[00:11:33] [SPEAKER_03]: It's wonderful.
[00:11:34] [SPEAKER_03]: Why wouldn't I stay?
[00:11:35] [SPEAKER_03]: Well, he has good reasons by good reasons.
[00:11:38] [SPEAKER_03]: I mean, he just can't figure it out.
[00:11:40] [SPEAKER_03]: He's like, ah, I don't know.
[00:11:42] [SPEAKER_03]: My hands are tied.
[00:11:42] [SPEAKER_03]: It turns out Sam owns the bar and the entire building, but no one knows that.
[00:11:49] [SPEAKER_03]: Uh, so he wants to leave it all to Jay and wants Tori to help make that happen legally.
[00:11:55] [SPEAKER_03]: Then word gets out, um, and, uh, about Tori being fired.
[00:12:00] [SPEAKER_03]: Her parents find out her mom cries and, uh, that's tough.
[00:12:03] [SPEAKER_03]: You hate to see that.
[00:12:03] [SPEAKER_03]: Then word gets out, uh, to everybody that Sam owns the building.
[00:12:07] [SPEAKER_03]: Uh, when someone comes in to make him an offer that he couldn't refuse, uh, Jay gets
[00:12:12] [SPEAKER_03]: that's Christopher Walken.
[00:12:13] [SPEAKER_03]: That's exactly right.
[00:12:15] [SPEAKER_03]: Uh, Jay gets mad that Tori could have been a contender.
[00:12:18] [SPEAKER_03]: Uh, Jay gets mad that Tori kept this from him.
[00:12:22] [SPEAKER_03]: So Sam pulls him aside and has says, Hey man, you're being a knucklehead.
[00:12:25] [SPEAKER_03]: Get over it.
[00:12:26] [SPEAKER_03]: And he does.
[00:12:26] [SPEAKER_03]: Sam tells Tori that he wants, uh, to move here.
[00:12:31] [SPEAKER_03]: No, I'm sorry.
[00:12:31] [SPEAKER_03]: Jay tells Tori, Sam already lives there.
[00:12:34] [SPEAKER_03]: Jay tells Tori that he wants to move here and we get a triple.
[00:12:36] [SPEAKER_03]: That's right.
[00:12:37] [SPEAKER_03]: A triple almost kiss moment.
[00:12:40] [SPEAKER_03]: Uh, they head downstairs to celebrate another night and share a big kiss before they light
[00:12:46] [SPEAKER_03]: the menorah.
[00:12:46] [SPEAKER_03]: And that my friends was Hanukkah on the rocks.
[00:12:51] [SPEAKER_02]: Hanukkah on the rocks.
[00:12:54] [SPEAKER_03]: We did it.
[00:12:55] [SPEAKER_03]: Let's take a quick break.
[00:12:57] [SPEAKER_03]: We'll come back.
[00:12:57] [SPEAKER_03]: We'll break this movie down here on deck.
[00:12:59] [SPEAKER_03]: The hallmark.
[00:13:05] [SPEAKER_03]: You've lived in Greenville for a long time and you've had a lot of fun doing it.
[00:13:09] [SPEAKER_03]: How, what's your favorite part about living in Greenville?
[00:13:11] [SPEAKER_01]: I say, I love going downtown and see what's going on.
[00:13:13] [SPEAKER_01]: It's always something you don't know.
[00:13:15] [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, they shut down the road.
[00:13:17] [SPEAKER_01]: Don't drive down there.
[00:13:18] [SPEAKER_01]: You park far away.
[00:13:18] [SPEAKER_01]: You walk cause you're in for an experience.
[00:13:20] [SPEAKER_03]: There's so much to do.
[00:13:22] [SPEAKER_03]: Have you gone to the hotel and looked at all the Christmas trees yet?
[00:13:24] [SPEAKER_03]: I have not.
[00:13:25] [SPEAKER_03]: It's a wonderful tradition that I share with my family.
[00:13:27] [SPEAKER_03]: Uh, you tried to skate, you try to do all the things, and there is still plenty of time
[00:13:32] [SPEAKER_03]: to come to Greenville and experience all that Greenville has to offer.
[00:13:35] [SPEAKER_03]: Not just during the holidays, but it, but it's all year round.
[00:13:39] [SPEAKER_03]: Greenville is wonderful.

[00:14:10] [SPEAKER_03]: Welcome back, everybody.
[00:14:11] [SPEAKER_03]: We're talking about Hanukkah on the rocks today.
[00:14:14] [SPEAKER_03]: Let's break it down.
[00:14:15] [SPEAKER_03]: The only way that we know how.
[00:14:16] [SPEAKER_03]: That's right.
[00:14:17] [SPEAKER_03]: We're going to start with a hot takers where we share exactly how we felt about this movie.
[00:14:20] [SPEAKER_03]: Any chance I can go first.
[00:14:20] [SPEAKER_03]: We do not hold back.
[00:14:21] [SPEAKER_03]: Oh, that's interesting.
[00:14:22] [SPEAKER_03]: Unbelievable.
[00:14:23] [SPEAKER_03]: Unbelievable.
[00:14:23] [SPEAKER_03]: It's unbelievable.
[00:14:24] [SPEAKER_03]: I'm going to start with Brian.
[00:14:25] [SPEAKER_03]: Brian.
[00:14:26] [SPEAKER_03]: Thanks, Brian.
[00:14:26] [SPEAKER_03]: I can't go first.
[00:14:27] [SPEAKER_03]: No, not today.
[00:14:29] [SPEAKER_03]: But the last will shall be first.
[00:14:31] [SPEAKER_03]: That's right.
[00:14:31] [SPEAKER_03]: You get it.
[00:14:33] [SPEAKER_01]: Um, Hanukkah on the rocks.
[00:14:34] [SPEAKER_01]: Brian, what'd you think about it?
[00:14:35] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, this was just okay for me.
[00:14:37] [SPEAKER_01]: I know that the script had a lot of authenticity, which is really great.
[00:14:41] [SPEAKER_01]: Rena, our double decker friend here wrote a great post in our Facebook group, kind of pointing
[00:14:46] [SPEAKER_01]: out all the things that were she could relate to and that from that really struck a chord
[00:14:51] [SPEAKER_01]: with her and her experience.
[00:14:52] [SPEAKER_01]: I don't have the Jewish experience.
[00:14:54] [SPEAKER_01]: That's right.
[00:14:55] [SPEAKER_01]: In my background, Rena, great information.
[00:14:57] [SPEAKER_01]: So it really spoke to how great the script was and how well thought out it was and the
[00:15:02] [SPEAKER_01]: details that are included.
[00:15:04] [SPEAKER_01]: Really great.
[00:15:04] [SPEAKER_01]: So I really appreciated that.
[00:15:05] [SPEAKER_01]: Uh, I think the big thing was like the chemistry with the leads.
[00:15:08] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it just didn't come across to me.
[00:15:10] [SPEAKER_01]: Mark Summers was a lot of fun on screen.
[00:15:13] [SPEAKER_01]: Stacy Farber, great on screen.
[00:15:15] [SPEAKER_01]: Everybody at the bar really seemed to be having a pretty good time.
[00:15:18] [SPEAKER_01]: Uh, just, I don't know.
[00:15:19] [SPEAKER_01]: Their chemistry just wasn't like the energy sort of dropped for me there.
[00:15:22] [SPEAKER_01]: And also his, his, the stakes for him were like non-existent.
[00:15:26] [SPEAKER_01]: No, he could be anywhere doing his job.
[00:15:29] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[00:15:29] [SPEAKER_01]: He could come back to Chicago, Winnipeg, whatever we're calling it.
[00:15:34] [SPEAKER_01]: Just west of Chicago, Winnipeg.
[00:15:35] [SPEAKER_01]: That's a little.
[00:15:36] [SPEAKER_04]: Winner Chicago.
[00:15:37] [SPEAKER_04]: Suburb.
[00:15:38] [SPEAKER_04]: Suburb.
[00:15:39] [SPEAKER_04]: It's a suburb.
[00:15:40] [SPEAKER_04]: We've all done it now.
[00:15:40] [SPEAKER_04]: Suburb of Chicago.
[00:15:42] [SPEAKER_04]: Restart.
[00:15:43] [SPEAKER_04]: Winnipeg.
[00:15:43] [SPEAKER_01]: So he could do that job anywhere.
[00:15:45] [SPEAKER_01]: So I was not really concerned about.
[00:15:47] [SPEAKER_01]: Wonderland.
[00:15:48] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm sorry.
[00:15:48] [SPEAKER_01]: Walking here.
[00:15:49] [SPEAKER_01]: Wasn't concerned about him at all.
[00:15:51] [SPEAKER_01]: And so I wasn't, maybe the gold chain played a factor.
[00:15:54] [SPEAKER_01]: I feel like it usually does.
[00:15:56] [SPEAKER_01]: Same gold chain already.
[00:15:57] [SPEAKER_01]: Can't trust him.
[00:15:58] [SPEAKER_01]: And also getting laid off just in my experience, I'm like, that's not something to be ashamed
[00:16:03] [SPEAKER_01]: of and hide.
[00:16:05] [SPEAKER_01]: So I was like, why is it such a big deal to keep such a secret?
[00:16:08] [SPEAKER_01]: But like you said, you don't want to make your parents cry.
[00:16:11] [SPEAKER_01]: So maybe that's a good reason to keep the secret.
[00:16:13] [SPEAKER_01]: It is.
[00:16:14] [SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
[00:16:15] [SPEAKER_01]: Not a good reason.
[00:16:15] [SPEAKER_04]: I can't imagine living like as soon as it happened, as soon as the first time I have
[00:16:19] [SPEAKER_04]: a conversation with anyone in my life, I'm going to tell them immediately.
[00:16:23] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm just going to be like, yeah, I got laid off.
[00:16:24] [SPEAKER_01]: Right.
[00:16:25] [SPEAKER_01]: It's not your fault.
[00:16:25] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[00:16:26] [SPEAKER_01]: It's not your fault.
[00:16:28] [SPEAKER_01]: Thank you.
[00:16:29] [SPEAKER_04]: Different culture, different experience.
[00:16:31] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:16:31] [SPEAKER_01]: Different parents.
[00:16:33] [SPEAKER_01]: Different parents.
[00:16:33] [SPEAKER_01]: Correct.
[00:16:34] [SPEAKER_01]: That's true.
[00:16:35] [SPEAKER_01]: That's a big part.
[00:16:35] [SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, just ended up okay for me.
[00:16:38] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[00:16:38] [SPEAKER_03]: So this movie is a tough one because I really liked a lot about it.
[00:16:42] [SPEAKER_03]: I loved the bar.
[00:16:44] [SPEAKER_03]: I loved Rocky's the way the outdoor shot of it kind of going down.
[00:16:49] [SPEAKER_03]: I thought it was wonderful.
[00:16:50] [SPEAKER_03]: And then inside the bar was great.
[00:16:52] [SPEAKER_03]: Some great looking drinks.
[00:16:54] [SPEAKER_03]: Mark Summers, Double Dare, big part of my childhood.
[00:16:58] [SPEAKER_03]: I absolutely loved him in this movie.
[00:17:00] [SPEAKER_03]: Cool.
[00:17:01] [SPEAKER_03]: But we have talked about how a lot of these movies is dependent on whether or not I'm rooting
[00:17:09] [SPEAKER_03]: for the couple.
[00:17:10] [SPEAKER_03]: And I just didn't really care about this couple.
[00:17:13] [SPEAKER_03]: I cared a lot about Sam.
[00:17:16] [SPEAKER_03]: I cared about the bar.
[00:17:17] [SPEAKER_03]: I cared about what was going on there.
[00:17:19] [SPEAKER_03]: I cared about, I enjoyed watching the Hanukkah celebrations grow in popularity.
[00:17:24] [SPEAKER_03]: People were beginning to come to the bar because of it.
[00:17:27] [SPEAKER_03]: I thought that was really cool.
[00:17:29] [SPEAKER_03]: But I just didn't care about this couple.
[00:17:30] [SPEAKER_03]: I wasn't rooting for them and didn't really care if Jay stayed or Wentz.
[00:17:35] [SPEAKER_03]: So that makes it a little bit tougher.
[00:17:38] [SPEAKER_03]: But overall, I did enjoy this movie and there's a lot to like about it.
[00:17:42] [SPEAKER_03]: Dano?
[00:17:42] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, this movie is tough, man.
[00:17:45] [SPEAKER_04]: I will say this.
[00:17:46] [SPEAKER_04]: We, since eight gifts of Hanukkah, which I think is a quality movie.
[00:17:51] [SPEAKER_04]: I think since then, Hallmark has really tried to up the ante with the quality of the Hanukkah
[00:17:57] [SPEAKER_04]: presentation that they give us.
[00:17:59] [SPEAKER_04]: Because then we had Hanukkah on Rye and then we had Round and Round.
[00:18:02] [SPEAKER_04]: This is a decided step back from those movies.
[00:18:05] [SPEAKER_04]: I think Julie Sherman Wolf does her darndest here and clearly successfully, according to
[00:18:10] [SPEAKER_04]: some folks that we've heard, to make this work.
[00:18:12] [SPEAKER_04]: The problem is that there's just not a lot of care put into the filmmaking of this.
[00:18:16] [SPEAKER_04]: First of all, they're in Winnipeg.
[00:18:18] [SPEAKER_04]: The supporting actors clearly don't have a lot invested in this plot of this premise.
[00:18:24] [SPEAKER_04]: I love Stacey Farber.
[00:18:25] [SPEAKER_04]: I thought she did a great job.
[00:18:27] [SPEAKER_04]: Everyone else loves something to be desired.
[00:18:28] [SPEAKER_04]: And then we have a massive obstacle course in the manner of Mark Summers.
[00:18:33] [SPEAKER_04]: Someone who I watched Double Dare in the 80s, in the 90s.
[00:18:37] [SPEAKER_04]: I love Mark Summers.
[00:18:39] [SPEAKER_04]: This is his first acting gig.
[00:18:41] [SPEAKER_04]: Listen, he's not Kelly Pickler bad, but they don't ask Kelly Pickler to carry the emotional
[00:18:46] [SPEAKER_04]: weight of a movie.
[00:18:47] [SPEAKER_04]: That would be hysterical.
[00:18:49] [SPEAKER_04]: They're asking Mark Summers because of the lack of chemistry between our leads to do a
[00:18:54] [SPEAKER_04]: lot of the heavy lifting.
[00:18:55] [SPEAKER_04]: And it's just unfair.
[00:18:56] [SPEAKER_04]: It is not his forte.
[00:18:59] [SPEAKER_04]: It's not his strength.
[00:19:00] [SPEAKER_04]: And it really is an albatross around this movie.
[00:19:03] [SPEAKER_04]: And I hate that because I love Mark Summers and I love Julie Sherman Wolf, but the movie
[00:19:08] [SPEAKER_04]: doesn't like Hanukkah and Rai.
[00:19:11] [SPEAKER_04]: Every scene felt incredibly well shot.
[00:19:14] [SPEAKER_04]: Well done supporting cast across the board is clicking.
[00:19:17] [SPEAKER_04]: This did not feel like that.
[00:19:18] [SPEAKER_04]: This feels like a chore of a movie.
[00:19:21] [SPEAKER_04]: And I really did not have a great time with it.
[00:19:23] [SPEAKER_04]: And the stunt casting for me didn't work.
[00:19:27] [SPEAKER_04]: And that was unfortunate.
[00:19:29] [SPEAKER_04]: It's time for all the feels.
[00:19:30] [SPEAKER_01]: Brian?
[00:19:31] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[00:19:32] [SPEAKER_01]: When Lottie brought out that tasting menu.
[00:19:34] [SPEAKER_01]: Are you kidding me right now?
[00:19:35] [SPEAKER_01]: Are you kidding me right now?
[00:19:36] [SPEAKER_01]: That food.
[00:19:36] [SPEAKER_01]: I was watching this.
[00:19:37] [SPEAKER_01]: Everything Bagel Season Ranch?
[00:19:39] [SPEAKER_01]: Get out of here.
[00:19:40] [SPEAKER_01]: Fried dill pickle spear.
[00:19:41] [SPEAKER_01]: Like I would never order a fried dill pickle spear, but I would with everything Bagel Ranch.
[00:19:45] [SPEAKER_01]: Are you kidding me?
[00:19:45] [SPEAKER_01]: Manny Chavitz braised short rib.
[00:19:47] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[00:19:47] [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, all this stuff.
[00:19:49] [SPEAKER_01]: Get me right now.
[00:19:50] [SPEAKER_01]: Horse radish.
[00:19:50] [SPEAKER_01]: Let's go.
[00:19:52] [SPEAKER_01]: Laka creme fraiche, honey glazed apple reduction.
[00:19:56] [SPEAKER_01]: Just came out of nowhere.
[00:19:58] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
[00:19:58] [SPEAKER_01]: I had to pause that movie.
[00:19:59] [SPEAKER_01]: At a bar?
[00:19:59] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[00:20:00] [SPEAKER_01]: Are you kidding me?
[00:20:01] [SPEAKER_01]: Next level.
[00:20:01] [SPEAKER_04]: It's almost a wait what?
[00:20:02] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[00:20:03] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[00:20:03] [SPEAKER_01]: You're right.
[00:20:03] [SPEAKER_01]: Do that all year.
[00:20:05] [SPEAKER_01]: Sheesh.
[00:20:05] [SPEAKER_01]: So that sounded great.
[00:20:06] [SPEAKER_01]: And now I'm on the hunt for a sampling menu like that.
[00:20:10] [SPEAKER_03]: I disagree with Dan on Mark Summers, and I think I've made that clear, but he was my
[00:20:16] [SPEAKER_03]: feels.
[00:20:17] [SPEAKER_03]: I adored him.
[00:20:18] [SPEAKER_03]: I felt so warm when he was on screen, and I didn't find it to be a stunt at all.
[00:20:25] [SPEAKER_03]: I found it to be a fantastic performance.
[00:20:29] [SPEAKER_03]: Maybe it's my problem.
[00:20:29] [SPEAKER_03]: It's my physical challenge.
[00:20:31] [SPEAKER_03]: It is a physical challenge.
[00:20:32] [SPEAKER_03]: But I also, speaking of physical challenges, I would like to participate in.
[00:20:38] [SPEAKER_03]: There is a dessert cocktail made, and I would like to see how quickly I could finish that.
[00:20:45] [SPEAKER_03]: I think I could do it before the bell goes off.
[00:20:48] [SPEAKER_03]: But if not, what can you do?
[00:20:50] [SPEAKER_03]: Still win.
[00:20:51] [SPEAKER_03]: I think the drink that Mark Summers makes there is wonderful, and I would like to participate
[00:20:55] [SPEAKER_03]: in that.
[00:20:56] [SPEAKER_03]: Dano?
[00:20:56] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:20:57] [SPEAKER_04]: I think that the drinks in this movie are both my feels and my wait what.
[00:21:02] [SPEAKER_04]: The drinks, like the fact that they're on the fly coming up with a different Hanukkah
[00:21:08] [SPEAKER_04]: base drink every night with a fun, catchy pun name, and they literally are just flying
[00:21:13] [SPEAKER_04]: by the seat of their pants is a bit of a wait what.
[00:21:16] [SPEAKER_04]: But most of the drinks they made, I was like, yeah.
[00:21:20] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:21:20] [SPEAKER_04]: Would try.
[00:21:21] [SPEAKER_04]: Down to try this drink.
[00:21:22] [SPEAKER_04]: Like, you know, the jelly filled donut hole on the top of the.
[00:21:26] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean, come on.
[00:21:27] [SPEAKER_01]: That was an old fashioned with the jelly.
[00:21:28] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[00:21:29] [SPEAKER_04]: So like that was fun and that was entertaining and I enjoyed and I will get to do the wait
[00:21:35] [SPEAKER_04]: what because I have some issues with the bar.
[00:21:36] [SPEAKER_04]: I enjoy the idea of what they're trying to do here.
[00:21:39] [SPEAKER_04]: They didn't really do it though.
[00:21:41] [SPEAKER_03]: So there's that.
[00:21:42] [SPEAKER_03]: Let's take a quick break.
[00:21:43] [SPEAKER_03]: We'll come back.
[00:21:44] [SPEAKER_03]: We'll get you the way.
[00:21:45] [SPEAKER_03]: The what?
[00:21:45] [SPEAKER_03]: The hallmark here on deck.
[00:21:46] [SPEAKER_03]: The hallmark.
[00:21:58] [SPEAKER_02]: Christopher Walken welcoming you back to deck the hallmark.
[00:22:01] [SPEAKER_04]: You're going to make an offer.
[00:22:02] [SPEAKER_04]: We can't refuse.
[00:22:03] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm going to do some stuff.
[00:22:04] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm going to kick off the wait.
[00:22:06] [SPEAKER_02]: What?
[00:22:06] [SPEAKER_02]: What?
[00:22:06] [SPEAKER_02]: What are we talking about?
[00:22:08] [SPEAKER_02]: What made us go away?
[00:22:09] [SPEAKER_02]: What?
[00:22:09] [SPEAKER_04]: You're slowly turning into Cody Freeze and it's fantastic.
[00:22:12] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't know how he's doing.
[00:22:14] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:22:14] [SPEAKER_04]: That's interesting.
[00:22:15] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:22:16] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:22:16] [SPEAKER_01]: It's a lonely time of year.
[00:22:17] [SPEAKER_02]: Hey guys, how's it going?
[00:22:18] [SPEAKER_02]: Cody Frizz.
[00:22:19] [SPEAKER_02]: I heard my name.
[00:22:19] [SPEAKER_02]: I came running.
[00:22:20] [SPEAKER_04]: It is unbelievable.
[00:22:22] [SPEAKER_04]: The camera's going to change at any second.
[00:22:23] [SPEAKER_04]: It's unbelievable how, how, how, it's like brand when doing his walk and sounds like
[00:22:30] [SPEAKER_04]: you.
[00:22:30] [SPEAKER_04]: It's unbelievable.
[00:22:31] [SPEAKER_02]: That's crazy, man.
[00:22:32] [SPEAKER_04]: Cody, what are you up to these days?
[00:22:33] [SPEAKER_04]: You having a happy holidays?
[00:22:34] [SPEAKER_02]: No.
[00:22:35] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh.
[00:22:35] [SPEAKER_02]: It's tough in the clink.
[00:22:37] [SPEAKER_02]: I gotta be honest with you.
[00:22:38] [SPEAKER_02]: It's tough in the clink.
[00:22:38] [SPEAKER_04]: Do you have any like, or-
[00:22:39] [SPEAKER_02]: You know the little Debbie Christmas tree cakes?
[00:22:41] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, Brett.
[00:22:42] [SPEAKER_02]: Yes, of course.
[00:22:42] [SPEAKER_02]: The ones that we get, five years old at least.
[00:22:45] [SPEAKER_02]: Hard as a rock.
[00:22:46] [SPEAKER_02]: I still power through.
[00:22:47] [SPEAKER_02]: I love those things.
[00:22:47] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, of course you do.
[00:22:48] [SPEAKER_04]: Do you have any, do you have any ultimate Frisbee tournaments coming up that you're organizing?
[00:22:53] [SPEAKER_04]: Probably couldn't.
[00:22:54] [SPEAKER_04]: That's because what you do from prison and that is, is there any of those that you can
[00:22:57] [SPEAKER_04]: do?
[00:22:58] [SPEAKER_04]: And at this point, how long do you have left on your sentence?
[00:23:00] [SPEAKER_04]: Can we get that out of the way for us?
[00:23:01] [SPEAKER_02]: I can't talk about that.
[00:23:02] [SPEAKER_04]: Okay.
[00:23:03] [SPEAKER_02]: It keeps getting pushed back.
[00:23:04] [SPEAKER_04]: Okay.
[00:23:04] [SPEAKER_04]: All right.
[00:23:04] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't, that's all I need.
[00:23:05] [SPEAKER_02]: They're saying I'm quote unquote doing too much.
[00:23:08] [SPEAKER_04]: Okay.
[00:23:08] [SPEAKER_04]: So, uh, what do you, do you have any good ones?
[00:23:11] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I got, we got a big one coming out on Christmas day actually.
[00:23:15] [SPEAKER_02]: Really?
[00:23:15] [SPEAKER_02]: What is it?
[00:23:16] [SPEAKER_02]: Where is it?
[00:23:17] [SPEAKER_02]: It's the Christmas day, ultimate Frisbee off, uh, candy canes in, snow cones out.
[00:23:23] [SPEAKER_02]: Mm hmm.
[00:23:24] Mm hmm.
[00:23:24] [SPEAKER_04]: Mm hmm.
[00:23:24] [SPEAKER_04]: Okay.
[00:23:24] [SPEAKER_04]: And where is that located?
[00:23:25] [SPEAKER_04]: That's happening in North pole.
[00:23:27] [SPEAKER_04]: North pole.
[00:23:27] [SPEAKER_04]: Okay.
[00:23:28] [SPEAKER_04]: Obviously candy canes in.
[00:23:29] [SPEAKER_04]: What was that?
[00:23:30] [SPEAKER_04]: Snowball.
[00:23:31] [SPEAKER_04]: Snow cones out is what I said.
[00:23:33] [SPEAKER_04]: So I'm going to stick with that.
[00:23:34] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:23:34] [SPEAKER_04]: Snow cones at Christmas time.
[00:23:36] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:23:36] [SPEAKER_02]: I think I meant something else, but what could he do?
[00:23:38] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't know if we can go any further than that.
[00:23:39] [SPEAKER_04]: Is there any other ones that we need to do?
[00:23:41] [SPEAKER_02]: New Year's Eve.
[00:23:41] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm doing one New Year's Eve.
[00:23:42] [SPEAKER_02]: It's called balls deep.
[00:23:45] [SPEAKER_01]: That's a good New Year's Eve one, man.
[00:23:47] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[00:23:47] [SPEAKER_01]: Well, we get it.
[00:23:48] [SPEAKER_02]: We bought it.
[00:23:49] [SPEAKER_02]: I bought, you know how on eBay you can buy things in bowls?
[00:23:51] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:23:53] [SPEAKER_02]: I bought in bulk all the old New Year's Eve balls that they dropped in Times Square.
[00:23:57] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:23:57] [SPEAKER_02]: They don't reuse that, huh?
[00:23:58] [SPEAKER_02]: And they're going to be surrounding the field.
[00:24:00] [SPEAKER_02]: That's a great.
[00:24:00] [SPEAKER_02]: And you throw frisbee.
[00:24:02] [SPEAKER_02]: If you break one, you buy it.
[00:24:03] [SPEAKER_04]: That's a great ultimate frisbee bit.
[00:24:06] [SPEAKER_04]: That's exactly right.
[00:24:06] [SPEAKER_04]: Do you think you should reconsider the name?
[00:24:08] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm not understanding why.
[00:24:10] [SPEAKER_04]: Okay.
[00:24:10] [SPEAKER_04]: So the name of this ultimate frisbee tournament is Balls Deep 2024?
[00:24:14] [SPEAKER_04]: Right.
[00:24:15] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:24:15] [SPEAKER_04]: Because of the balls that drop.
[00:24:17] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:24:18] [SPEAKER_04]: Times Square.
[00:24:18] [SPEAKER_04]: You got it.
[00:24:19] [SPEAKER_04]: Good.
[00:24:20] Good.
[00:24:21] [SPEAKER_02]: And they're all their surrounding.
[00:24:22] [SPEAKER_04]: I was going to ask for a third, but Cody, I feel like I've heard enough.
[00:24:24] [SPEAKER_04]: Cody, thank you so much.
[00:24:26] [SPEAKER_04]: God bless you.
[00:24:27] [SPEAKER_04]: God bless you.
[00:24:28] [SPEAKER_04]: Merry Christmas to you, sir.
[00:24:29] [SPEAKER_04]: Absolutely.
[00:24:29] [SPEAKER_04]: It won't be.
[00:24:31] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm scared.
[00:24:31] [SPEAKER_04]: All right.
[00:24:32] [SPEAKER_04]: Okay.
[00:24:33] [SPEAKER_01]: Aside from the way, what?
[00:24:34] [SPEAKER_01]: Man, it was great to hear from him.
[00:24:36] [SPEAKER_01]: Brian?
[00:24:37] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[00:24:37] [SPEAKER_01]: Speaking of the drinks at the bar, they do a lot of sample drinks, trying out recipes.
[00:24:42] [SPEAKER_01]: What they don't do is use a straw for the tasting.
[00:24:46] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[00:24:46] [SPEAKER_01]: Which you do with everything you're tasting in a group.
[00:24:49] [SPEAKER_01]: You use a tasting straw.
[00:24:51] [SPEAKER_04]: Do you think every bar is with you?
[00:24:51] [SPEAKER_04]: Like I'm with you.
[00:24:52] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:24:53] [SPEAKER_04]: But do you think every bar is with you?
[00:24:54] [SPEAKER_04]: I know every bar is not with me on this.
[00:24:56] [SPEAKER_04]: You've seen John Tapper.
[00:24:57] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[00:24:57] [SPEAKER_01]: I've seen how it goes out there.
[00:24:59] [SPEAKER_01]: It gets pretty filthy.
[00:25:00] [SPEAKER_04]: And you drink in those bars sometimes, isn't it?
[00:25:02] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[00:25:02] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[00:25:03] [SPEAKER_01]: It would be nice to just put on the show, I guess.
[00:25:06] [SPEAKER_01]: The show.
[00:25:06] [SPEAKER_01]: Just like try it one time.
[00:25:07] [SPEAKER_04]: Get the straw a little tip there.
[00:25:09] [SPEAKER_04]: Boom.
[00:25:09] [SPEAKER_01]: Hey, you got to do the thing where it's like, it's good.
[00:25:11] [SPEAKER_03]: Take it.
[00:25:12] [SPEAKER_03]: It's good.
[00:25:12] [SPEAKER_03]: You know what it does?
[00:25:13] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
[00:25:13] [SPEAKER_01]: Take it.
[00:25:14] [SPEAKER_01]: Hands.
[00:25:14] [SPEAKER_01]: Hands.
[00:25:16] [SPEAKER_01]: In the merger announcement email that she got at the very beginning, the subject line
[00:25:20] [SPEAKER_01]: said something a little like, merger happening, expect layoffs.
[00:25:24] [SPEAKER_01]: Like, which you never say.
[00:25:28] It's the opposite.
[00:25:28] [SPEAKER_01]: If you're looking for a riot and get everybody going crazy, yeah, you expect layoffs.
[00:25:33] [SPEAKER_03]: Everyone knows you do a, we're having an all hands meeting later.
[00:25:37] [SPEAKER_03]: That's right.
[00:25:38] [SPEAKER_03]: 3PO, some of us will be there.
[00:25:40] [SPEAKER_04]: Some of us will be there.
[00:25:42] [SPEAKER_04]: If you think employees meetings.
[00:25:43] [SPEAKER_03]: Usually there's two in all hands, some of us will be there.
[00:25:45] [SPEAKER_04]: Balls deep, all hands.
[00:25:47] [SPEAKER_04]: Employees of companies get anxious when they think there's some scuttlebutt about the possibility
[00:25:53] [SPEAKER_04]: of layoffs.
[00:25:53] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:25:54] [SPEAKER_04]: If you throw layoffs in the email, you may as well just pour kerosene on the office
[00:25:58] [SPEAKER_04]: and like the match.
[00:26:00] [SPEAKER_04]: Dude, nothing's happened.
[00:26:00] [SPEAKER_03]: It's crazy.
[00:26:01] [SPEAKER_03]: Everyone knows what you do is, you say, hey, this merger's happening.
[00:26:05] [SPEAKER_03]: We're not expecting or anticipating any layoffs.
[00:26:09] [SPEAKER_01]: Right.
[00:26:09] [SPEAKER_01]: We actually see a lot of synergies here.
[00:26:10] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it's going to be really good.
[00:26:11] [SPEAKER_03]: And then next week you're like, there's out of our hands.
[00:26:13] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[00:26:14] [SPEAKER_01]: We looked at it.
[00:26:15] [SPEAKER_01]: All hands.
[00:26:15] [SPEAKER_01]: Blame it on the sea.
[00:26:16] [SPEAKER_01]: All hands.
[00:26:16] [SPEAKER_01]: That's right.
[00:26:16] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[00:26:17] [SPEAKER_01]: Some of us will be there.
[00:26:18] [SPEAKER_01]: So that was great.
[00:26:19] [SPEAKER_01]: So someone working, she said, I'll work one more night.
[00:26:22] [SPEAKER_01]: And then she showed up with more decorations than she could carry.
[00:26:25] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, she's in.
[00:26:26] [SPEAKER_01]: She's in.
[00:26:27] [SPEAKER_01]: She's not leaving.
[00:26:28] [SPEAKER_01]: They see all those decorations coming.
[00:26:30] [SPEAKER_01]: She's not going anywhere.
[00:26:31] [SPEAKER_01]: And then just the speed dating of it all, there's nothing speedy about it.
[00:26:35] [SPEAKER_01]: No.
[00:26:35] [SPEAKER_01]: They say, we're going to ask you these questions and then the older folks are going to review
[00:26:40] [SPEAKER_01]: the younger folks things, the younger folks, they're going to do the vice versa.
[00:26:43] [SPEAKER_01]: Everybody's manually reviewing all the answers and choosing partners.
[00:26:46] [SPEAKER_01]: Right.
[00:26:46] [SPEAKER_01]: This is going to take forever.
[00:26:47] [SPEAKER_04]: It is the slowest fast dating I've ever seen.
[00:26:51] [SPEAKER_04]: It's going to take forever.
[00:26:51] [SPEAKER_04]: It's crazy.
[00:26:52] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[00:26:52] [SPEAKER_03]: It's speed, Dan.
[00:26:53] [SPEAKER_03]: They don't say which speed.
[00:26:55] [SPEAKER_03]: That's true.
[00:26:55] [SPEAKER_03]: They don't.
[00:26:56] [SPEAKER_01]: So I was just assuming it was going to be a quick one, but yeah, a lot of assumptions
[00:27:00] [SPEAKER_01]: on your part.
[00:27:00] [SPEAKER_01]: And you know what happens?
[00:27:01] [SPEAKER_01]: I feel bad now.
[00:27:02] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you should.
[00:27:03] [SPEAKER_03]: Is that it?
[00:27:04] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[00:27:04] [SPEAKER_03]: That's it.
[00:27:05] [SPEAKER_03]: The guy who comes in to make, to check in on the offer, like he made a salmon offer
[00:27:10] [SPEAKER_03]: that he couldn't refuse.
[00:27:11] [SPEAKER_03]: He wants to buy the, buy the bar and the building.
[00:27:15] [SPEAKER_03]: He does check in on that offer and then immediately gets sidetracked by bean bag toss.
[00:27:20] [SPEAKER_03]: He, I've never, I listen, I love a bean bag toss.
[00:27:23] [SPEAKER_03]: I love a corn hole.
[00:27:24] [SPEAKER_04]: We love it.
[00:27:25] [SPEAKER_04]: The other ones.
[00:27:26] [SPEAKER_03]: I, the et cetera.
[00:27:28] [SPEAKER_03]: I've never seen an adult person, uh, get that jazzed about the bean bag.
[00:27:34] [SPEAKER_03]: He walks in.
[00:27:35] [SPEAKER_03]: He's like, have you got a step?
[00:27:37] [SPEAKER_03]: He's like the, the dog and up who sees squirrel.
[00:27:40] [SPEAKER_03]: It is.
[00:27:41] [SPEAKER_03]: It is quick.
[00:27:42] [SPEAKER_03]: It is fast.
[00:27:43] [SPEAKER_03]: It is furious.
[00:27:44] [SPEAKER_03]: Guy loves bean bag.
[00:27:45] [SPEAKER_04]: Also, he's a self-proclaimed workaholic, which means nothing ropes a workaholic away faster
[00:27:50] [SPEAKER_04]: than a little bar bean bag.
[00:27:52] [SPEAKER_04]: That's exactly right.
[00:27:53] [SPEAKER_04]: This guy didn't know.
[00:27:53] [SPEAKER_04]: That's what they're known for.
[00:27:54] [SPEAKER_04]: He's been in the office nonstop for three straight days, had to deliver one final sales.
[00:27:59] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh my God.
[00:28:00] [SPEAKER_04]: Bean bags.
[00:28:01] [SPEAKER_04]: Like big deal.
[00:28:02] [SPEAKER_04]: We've been in my whole life.
[00:28:03] [SPEAKER_04]: Love that guy.
[00:28:04] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:28:04] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[00:28:05] [SPEAKER_03]: Um, also I do, I, I feel for the extras in this movie who show up to bar and they're
[00:28:13] [SPEAKER_03]: going to do the Hanukkah celebration.
[00:28:15] [SPEAKER_03]: They're going to light the menorah.
[00:28:16] [SPEAKER_03]: They're going to say the prayer and the extras are faced with a decision.
[00:28:19] [SPEAKER_03]: The extras who have never celebrated Hanukkah before and never learned the prayer.
[00:28:23] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[00:28:24] [SPEAKER_03]: What do I do?
[00:28:25] [SPEAKER_03]: Do I sit here and not do anything or do I act like I'm mouthing the prayer that I don't
[00:28:32] [SPEAKER_03]: know?
[00:28:32] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[00:28:33] [SPEAKER_03]: And shout out to the extras that went the extra mile and said, do I know this prayer?
[00:28:40] [SPEAKER_03]: No, I don't, but I am an extra and I am going to act like I do.
[00:28:46] [SPEAKER_03]: And the, uh, they give it, they give it their best go by mouthing, not the prayer, but
[00:28:52] [SPEAKER_03]: something.
[00:28:53] [SPEAKER_03]: Just some words.
[00:28:53] [SPEAKER_03]: So shout out to those extras who really win for it.
[00:28:57] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[00:28:57] [SPEAKER_03]: Uh, cause that's, uh, that's a tough, that's tough, tough situation.
[00:29:02] [SPEAKER_03]: Tough, tough, tough spot to be in there.
[00:29:04] [SPEAKER_03]: Tough spot to be in.
[00:29:05] [SPEAKER_03]: Tough spot on the TV there.
[00:29:06] [SPEAKER_03]: On the TV in front of everybody, your friends and your family, you're going to sit down and
[00:29:09] [SPEAKER_03]: be like, you had to try, didn't you?
[00:29:12] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[00:29:13] [SPEAKER_03]: You had to try, uh, Dana.
[00:29:14] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:29:15] [SPEAKER_04]: I do want to point out at the end of the day, this movie boils down to a story of a Chicago
[00:29:20] [SPEAKER_04]: based, uh, doctor desperate to get back to Jacksonville, Florida.
[00:29:25] [SPEAKER_04]: Um, and I'm not, listen, I'm not trying to make any money mad.
[00:29:29] [SPEAKER_04]: Uh, but they picked Jacksonville.
[00:29:33] [SPEAKER_04]: I, I didn't pick Jacksonville.
[00:29:36] [SPEAKER_04]: You wouldn't.
[00:29:38] [SPEAKER_04]: That's right.
[00:29:39] [SPEAKER_04]: They picked Jacksonville and I need to point that out right now.
[00:29:42] [SPEAKER_04]: Um, may I, there's a beast, a love story in this movie portals.
[00:29:46] [SPEAKER_04]: There's a B love story, uh, here.
[00:29:48] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:29:48] [SPEAKER_04]: Jacksonville is so notorious for being hell that they made a show about it called the
[00:29:54] [SPEAKER_04]: good place.
[00:29:55] [SPEAKER_04]: Um, there's a B story.
[00:29:58] [SPEAKER_04]: I believe it's Anthony and Lottie and he tries to get her attention by sending food that she
[00:30:04] [SPEAKER_04]: made back.
[00:30:04] [SPEAKER_04]: Um, and may I suggest, and I'm not exactly, you know, I did, I'm not exactly like, I don't
[00:30:10] [SPEAKER_04]: know all the, I've been married 18 years.
[00:30:12] [SPEAKER_04]: I may, maybe, maybe the game has changed, but may I suggest to you the best way to get someone's
[00:30:18] [SPEAKER_04]: attention to show your interest is to not have food that they prepared with their hands sent
[00:30:24] [SPEAKER_04]: back to them.
[00:30:27] [SPEAKER_04]: Maybe it's just me.
[00:30:28] [SPEAKER_04]: Seems like a bad idea.
[00:30:30] [SPEAKER_04]: Um, not the food to do it with.
[00:30:32] [SPEAKER_04]: Not to, yeah.
[00:30:32] [SPEAKER_04]: The chicken wings are going to get cold.
[00:30:34] [SPEAKER_04]: You gotta eat those quick.
[00:30:35] [SPEAKER_04]: You gotta eat those wings quick, hot and crispy.
[00:30:37] [SPEAKER_04]: That's exactly right.
[00:30:37] [SPEAKER_04]: You mentioned speed dating was, uh, really slow.
[00:30:40] [SPEAKER_04]: It also wasn't lighthearted at all.
[00:30:43] [SPEAKER_04]: These were some heavy hitters.
[00:30:45] [SPEAKER_04]: It's what's the thing you regret most or the most embarrassing.
[00:30:48] [SPEAKER_04]: Like this is not existential crisis dating.
[00:30:51] [SPEAKER_04]: It's speed dating.
[00:30:53] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't know how comfortable I am there.
[00:30:55] [SPEAKER_04]: Just being like, well, let me tell you about the most embarrassing thing.
[00:30:57] [SPEAKER_04]: I just met you.
[00:30:58] [SPEAKER_04]: Uh, we also get to, uh, a lot of looking at the most sparsely attended kids, uh, art
[00:31:04] [SPEAKER_04]: fair of all time.
[00:31:05] [SPEAKER_04]: Guys, when you have kids, they have art fairs and these art fairs have your kids handmade
[00:31:09] [SPEAKER_04]: items.
[00:31:09] [SPEAKER_04]: Now they make you handmade items at all at home all the time.
[00:31:12] [SPEAKER_04]: They're a treasure.
[00:31:13] [SPEAKER_04]: Not enough of them.
[00:31:14] [SPEAKER_04]: So many treasures and they're there and they're on the fridge and they're everywhere and we
[00:31:16] [SPEAKER_04]: love them, but they make special treasures at school that you go and you, you view, you
[00:31:21] [SPEAKER_04]: tell your kid how proud you are of them cause you are.
[00:31:23] [SPEAKER_04]: And then you buy that treasure at full price.
[00:31:26] [SPEAKER_04]: That is what happens at these events.
[00:31:28] [SPEAKER_04]: And every parent does it like it literally, it is a mad house at these events that no one
[00:31:34] [SPEAKER_04]: at this art fair who made anything has parents that love them.
[00:31:36] [SPEAKER_04]: It is empty.
[00:31:38] [SPEAKER_04]: It is empty.
[00:31:39] [SPEAKER_04]: Maybe Stacey Farber is there buying something.
[00:31:42] [SPEAKER_04]: She didn't even have a kid.
[00:31:43] [SPEAKER_04]: It is, it is an empty kids art fair with a bunch of parents that can't be bothered to
[00:31:50] [SPEAKER_04]: pay over price, to spend too much money for the kids treasures.
[00:31:54] [SPEAKER_04]: Maybe they're waiting for him to go on sale.
[00:31:55] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:31:56] [SPEAKER_04]: You wait, they're going to go on sale and then we'll show up.
[00:31:58] [SPEAKER_04]: I love it.
[00:31:59] [SPEAKER_01]: Promo code.
[00:31:59] [SPEAKER_04]: I love it.
[00:32:00] [SPEAKER_04]: Um, I, I do also have to mention the quickest heart to heart of all time.
[00:32:03] [SPEAKER_04]: Mark Summers goes out to the bench that Stacey Farber is sitting on.
[00:32:06] [SPEAKER_04]: You go time this thing.
[00:32:08] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't think it's 20 seconds.
[00:32:10] [SPEAKER_04]: He sits down and like, does the old person sit like me?
[00:32:13] [SPEAKER_04]: And he's like, you just got to follow your heart.
[00:32:15] [SPEAKER_04]: Well, we'll see you in there.
[00:32:17] [SPEAKER_04]: It is a very quick turnaround.
[00:32:20] [SPEAKER_04]: He said what he needed to say.
[00:32:22] [SPEAKER_04]: And he's out of there.
[00:32:23] [SPEAKER_04]: He's got to go run lines.
[00:32:24] [SPEAKER_04]: Cold up.
[00:32:25] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, it's cold out there.
[00:32:26] [SPEAKER_04]: That's all I got brain.
[00:32:28] [SPEAKER_03]: Uh, it's time for what the hallmarks were.
[00:32:29] [SPEAKER_03]: We wonder what could have been.
[00:32:30] [SPEAKER_03]: Maybe have it come to clear any questions that we still have.
[00:32:31] [SPEAKER_03]: What are we still wondering about?
[00:32:34] [SPEAKER_01]: That's what we're going to talk about now, right?
[00:32:35] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[00:32:36] [SPEAKER_01]: Sam spending an awful lot of time on that bar stool.
[00:32:38] [SPEAKER_01]: Uh, wonder what he's sipping on there.
[00:32:40] [SPEAKER_01]: Cause is he just all day long?
[00:32:43] [SPEAKER_01]: I definitely know he's sucking on chili dog.
[00:32:45] [SPEAKER_01]: Obviously.
[00:32:45] [SPEAKER_01]: Obviously.
[00:32:46] [SPEAKER_01]: I got chili dog.
[00:32:47] [SPEAKER_01]: But you know, is he just, is that a, uh, an alcohol drink?
[00:32:50] [SPEAKER_01]: We're worried about him, right?
[00:32:51] [SPEAKER_01]: We're worried about him.
[00:32:52] [SPEAKER_01]: We're worried about him.
[00:32:53] [SPEAKER_04]: Sam, you can do what you want to do.
[00:32:54] [SPEAKER_04]: You own the building.
[00:32:55] [SPEAKER_03]: You spend every, every, every holiday there with his wife.
[00:32:58] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[00:32:59] [SPEAKER_03]: Every night.
[00:33:00] [SPEAKER_03]: It's a lot.
[00:33:01] [SPEAKER_01]: It's a lot of time in the bar.
[00:33:02] [SPEAKER_01]: It's also a lot of money.
[00:33:03] [SPEAKER_01]: So much like, even if you're the owner, you're still paying for that.
[00:33:08] [SPEAKER_01]: Many costs.
[00:33:09] [SPEAKER_03]: Yes.
[00:33:09] [SPEAKER_03]: But before he was the owner.
[00:33:11] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[00:33:12] [SPEAKER_03]: He 15 years ago, he went there every year with his wife.
[00:33:15] [SPEAKER_01]: Do you think his, or every day with his wife has had that so high, he could just
[00:33:18] [SPEAKER_03]: trade straight up for it.
[00:33:19] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[00:33:20] [SPEAKER_03]: That's right.
[00:33:21] [SPEAKER_04]: That's how that works.
[00:33:21] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm pretty sure you've doubled your losses there.
[00:33:22] [SPEAKER_04]: I think he owes the double.
[00:33:23] [SPEAKER_04]: He owes double or nothing.
[00:33:24] [SPEAKER_04]: That's Brian's understanding of double or nothing.
[00:33:25] [SPEAKER_04]: Double or nothing.
[00:33:26] [SPEAKER_04]: You double it.
[00:33:26] [SPEAKER_04]: Put it on my tab.
[00:33:28] [SPEAKER_04]: I've got this tab of a hundred grand.
[00:33:30] [SPEAKER_04]: Would you take it in exchange for the building?
[00:33:32] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[00:33:33] [SPEAKER_03]: Well, it's a good deal.
[00:33:34] [SPEAKER_03]: Curiously enough, my, what the hallmark is the purchase of the building.
[00:33:37] [SPEAKER_03]: Fair.
[00:33:38] [SPEAKER_03]: Um, you know, I understand that the bar is attached to the building.
[00:33:43] [SPEAKER_03]: Uh, his attachment property.
[00:33:44] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[00:33:44] [SPEAKER_03]: I just want to know how all that worked.
[00:33:46] [SPEAKER_03]: Cause it seems like he not only bought the building, but he also, he now owns Rocky's
[00:33:51] [SPEAKER_03]: too.
[00:33:51] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[00:33:52] [SPEAKER_03]: So there's a lot going on there.
[00:33:53] [SPEAKER_03]: How did all that work?
[00:33:54] [SPEAKER_03]: Did he buy, do you think he bought the business first and then he went ahead and bought the
[00:33:58] [SPEAKER_03]: building or because it's not like, like Rocky's was an establishment to begin with.
[00:34:03] [SPEAKER_03]: Rocky's was paying rent to the building.
[00:34:05] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:34:05] [SPEAKER_04]: Right.
[00:34:05] [SPEAKER_04]: In my head, it was 2009 and there were foreclosures everywhere and he didn't want this bar to go
[00:34:10] [SPEAKER_04]: under and he swooped in, got it for a fair price.
[00:34:12] [SPEAKER_04]: Would watch that movie.
[00:34:13] [SPEAKER_04]: Yes.
[00:34:13] [SPEAKER_04]: I'd watch that one.
[00:34:14] [SPEAKER_04]: Maybe a younger Mark Summers played by not Mark Summers.
[00:34:16] [SPEAKER_04]: Played by Mark Summers.
[00:34:17] [SPEAKER_04]: No.
[00:34:18] [SPEAKER_04]: Uh, I double dare you to choose someone different.
[00:34:21] [SPEAKER_04]: Mine is about Rocky's itself.
[00:34:23] [SPEAKER_04]: If this bar during the Hanukkah week is so chill, like I don't know if you've ever been
[00:34:28] [SPEAKER_04]: into a bar in New York city.
[00:34:30] [SPEAKER_04]: Quiet down.
[00:34:30] [SPEAKER_04]: Hard to hear yourself think in most of those.
[00:34:33] [SPEAKER_04]: You're there for a good time, not a quiet time.
[00:34:35] [SPEAKER_04]: Uh, this bar is there for a quiet time where every one person speaks at a time and that's
[00:34:40] [SPEAKER_04]: it.
[00:34:40] [SPEAKER_04]: There's no loud noises.
[00:34:41] [SPEAKER_04]: Is that just for the Hanukkah week or is that how it runs year round?
[00:34:45] [SPEAKER_04]: Cause if it's how it runs year round, I may have found my new bar, maybe moving to New
[00:34:50] [SPEAKER_04]: York city.
[00:34:50] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean, what, what if there's one thing I've learned, if the, I'm sorry, New Chicago.
[00:34:55] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm sorry.
[00:34:55] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:34:55] [SPEAKER_03]: If there's one thing I've learned about a Hanukkah from homework movies is that if you're,
[00:35:00] [SPEAKER_03]: if you're not Jewish, you know, literally nothing about Hanukkah.
[00:35:03] [SPEAKER_03]: That's right.
[00:35:03] [SPEAKER_03]: No one in this bar is going like, what's going on over there?
[00:35:07] [SPEAKER_04]: Nobody's doing it.
[00:35:08] [SPEAKER_03]: What language is like, what are you doing?
[00:35:10] [SPEAKER_03]: None of that.
[00:35:11] [SPEAKER_03]: There's no dishes breaking.
[00:35:12] [SPEAKER_03]: Everyone's just like very respectful.
[00:35:14] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[00:35:14] [SPEAKER_03]: Everybody's having a great time.
[00:35:15] [SPEAKER_03]: And kind and they're like, help move the furniture.
[00:35:17] [SPEAKER_03]: Can you teach me the prayer?
[00:35:18] [SPEAKER_03]: I'd love to, I'd love to go in on this with you.
[00:35:20] [SPEAKER_03]: No, they're just so respectful.
[00:35:22] [SPEAKER_03]: And I love that.
[00:35:23] [SPEAKER_03]: I want to live in this world.
[00:35:25] [SPEAKER_03]: 100%.
[00:35:30] [SPEAKER_03]: I have to do that.
[00:35:31] [SPEAKER_03]: We did it everybody.
[00:35:32] [SPEAKER_03]: Congratulations to us.
[00:35:34] [SPEAKER_03]: Only a few more movies left.
[00:35:36] [SPEAKER_03]: And then we go down, we're down to three.
[00:35:37] [SPEAKER_03]: We're down to three Hallmark movies after this point.
[00:35:39] [SPEAKER_03]: It's crazy.
[00:35:40] [SPEAKER_03]: So come hang out with us.
[00:35:42] [SPEAKER_03]: We'll be back tomorrow with another one until then.
[00:35:43] [SPEAKER_03]: Maybe the first to wish you a Merry Christmas.

[00:36:21] [SPEAKER_03]: It's at the end of the show.
[00:36:23] [SPEAKER_03]: I mean, you're listening to me.
[00:36:24] [SPEAKER_03]: Hi.
[00:36:25] [SPEAKER_03]: But here they come.
[00:36:26] [SPEAKER_03]: I promise they're coming.
[00:36:27] [SPEAKER_03]: Yep.
