[00:00:01] Hi, I'm Bram. I love Hallmark Hi, I'm Brian I like Hallmark summer nights movies hi, I'm Dan I despise Hallmark summer nights movies, and this is the Deck The Hallmark Podcast Greetings Everybody Happy Tuesday out there. That's right. What is your favorite?

[00:00:49] Tuesday of all time Brian go man go Don't it could not if Flag Day was on the Tuesday that would be up there too much so yeah Yeah, it's gotta be that Tuesday after that Thursday after before the long weekend. Yeah, yeah, that's a good Tuesday right there

[00:01:05] Tuesday after the Thursday before the long weekend so the first day back to work the first day But your favorite Tuesday is when you have to go back to work after a long weekend Yeah

[00:01:15] Monday a lot of people hate on Mondays favorite day of the week probably for me and after a long weekend Tuesday becomes a favorite Day of the week. I don't have to do

[00:01:24] Brain and I talk all the time about how we love our work and like I went on vacation and had a blast I was excited to come back to work Love coming to work. Yeah the idea that Monday is your favorite day of the week

[00:01:38] Can't wait for it to roll you are a villain in in you're just a villain in life. Yeah, man Right today somebody's gonna like it right somebody's gonna like Mondays the thing is though

[00:01:49] It's like a long weekend is like that's not enough time to be like no I can't I'm ready to get back to work It was like a two-week vacation is he likes Monday Yeah

[00:02:01] You give him Friday Saturday Sunday Monday Tuesday becomes super sized cuz he's so excited for size. It's like a double Monday Yeah, he's a monster force Just like he's like I I've been in close proximity to my kids for too long

[00:02:15] I can't wait to get these kids across the globe back on the clock. Oh my goodness I get back on the clock you are an interesting answer Dan. You got a favorite Tuesday I mean I was taking what I said no

[00:02:26] For a long weekend you're dying to get back to the grind No, I don't know. I like election day. I'm a big election day. That's worse than my answer right Yeah, if it's between the two I do I enjoy election coverage

[00:02:41] Yeah, we keep asking our friends at South Carolina Public Radio to let us do election coverage and they keep saying no We're laying up. They keep saying no really saying no. They just kind of laugh I Don't have to say no is what happened

[00:02:55] I think I think if we get enough people to email Sean give Sean's email up to email Sean at South Carolina Public Radio Saying hey guys who host who what when that hasn't aired except for one is that one day could they do election coverage?

[00:03:11] I think that would I think that would go over asked to be the main coverage We know we have a side a side cast Yeah, they're not like I don't know if I think I would want us on there doing election coverage

[00:03:24] I think it would be fun, but I don't think it's really suited for there like and I think they know side We're side cast. We're a side cast When they need to run to the bathroom, they throw to Dan and Brant Let them know

[00:03:44] Bad stuff can have people are asking for it is all I'm saying yeah, my favorite Tuesday is the second Tuesday of December really yeah Wow just goes prime Christmas prime Christmas. That's probably you're sitting right in it

[00:04:01] We're talking sometimes it does fall no can't fall there a seventh can't fall It's what if the second to what if it's the seven days in a week?

[00:04:09] The second Tuesday cannot be on the seventh well do read a book do sometimes the first Tuesday is still in November Nope, it isn't last one of November Tuesday of December cannot be in First The first Tuesday after Thanksgiving is December no

[00:04:34] Why can't be a so what you said this could happen no yeah No one two three four five six seven you can't have two Tuesdays in those seven days I'm not saying it's impossible what I'm saying is after Thanksgiving. It's all December Okay

[00:04:53] Not in real life right okay Tuesday is the first your favorite Tuesday this year's on December 10th, okay? So it's Tuesday the first Wednesday the second Thursday the third Friday the fourth Saturday fifth Monday

[00:05:14] That's all I'm saying is every every Tuesday after Thanksgiving is December. I think you're with me on this one, right It feels right yeah, that feels right why complicated Let's keep it simple just wanna talk about June back would love to it's all good

[00:05:28] June bug originally aired on August 3rd 2024 in the Hallmark Channel and one a little something like this it is little Juniper's birthday her parents called her June by little June But that is a very southern thing and no one in this movie Southern. Hey little June

[00:05:46] Jumper juper get over here, June. Oh, yes, there's time jimper come on Jim bug they give her a box Did she hear you or not can you guys just go tap Just go get her Let's go tap her on the shoulder

[00:06:09] Throw something at her they they give her a box to put all of her who's it and what's it? Also all of her wishes what about thing of above yes, plenty. She puts her wishes in there though She wishes for happiness she wishes for a night

[00:06:22] Good I'm gonna Cut to present day Juniper's a busy bee or should I? Middle name out southern southern parent Juniper and Sean you get in here right now come on man. What's your middle name, bro? Scott Scott Brian Scott yeah, Brian Scott you get in here. Yeah

[00:06:52] He was a basketball player Brian Brian Scott. Yeah, is that right cut to present day? Juniper is a busy bee sir of the brines or should I say a busy bug

[00:07:06] Can't believe that was close she works at a publishing company is looking to get the next big book She's also mad at this random dude in a coffee shop for drinking the drink that was given to him by the barista Not his fault

[00:07:21] One day after work her parents bring over some of her stuff including the June box a June bug You want this box back to the police you answer me to the police That night I Grab you a switch you come in late after streetlights come out Juniper Lee

[00:07:46] Yeah that night We're having shepherds pie Your favorites always Shepherd's pie nasty stuff not a casserole no That night she's woken up in the middle of the night by her little self. That's cream child Really

[00:08:05] She's freaked out to see little self stop in the north a little self is sitting there and get hit We don't get yelled at we just get hit Hey, what's your name? Hey you She's freaked out by her little self and a little something starts popping up randomly

[00:08:27] she is also responsible for Juniper destroying the Work in progress mural in the alley by work who's the artist it's coffee guy his name is Alex and instead of being mad

[00:08:41] And instead of being mad that she destroyed the mural. He's like I didn't really like it, so this gives me a reason to try again Best guy in the world she's like hey would you be interested in illustrating a book he's like no He's like I

[00:09:07] Think if this synopsis was on IMDb it'd be the lowest rated Synopsis in history, but I'm having fun He's like I don't do that type of stuff But her little self is insistent hey get him to agree

[00:09:23] So they end up hanging out for the day looking at kids books really hitting it off I'm sure this magical day with a hunk has nothing to do with what happens next she breaks up with her boyfriend Again, I'm sure it is a coincidence

[00:09:38] That immediately following the day with Alex. She breaks up with her boyfriend has nothing to do with the fact that he is Just yeah, yeah, just a God. He's just a god out there anywhome

[00:09:52] Alex agrees to be the illustrator, but on one condition Juniper is the author so they pitch it to the boss She's like now. She's like let's uh let's see what she's gonna write it. You're probably gonna write Let's see what they come up with

[00:10:06] On that dress you mama so for you We're gonna write this book They get together to work on the project and they end up kissing They are immediately interrupted which is messed up, but better than almost I

[00:10:24] Get your tongue out boys mouth. They didn't have time that's so didn't have time to put tongue in mouth right now Go get your daddy They end up Going on a one-day vacation together shopping getting ice cream kissing all that stuff these two are

[00:10:45] Digging each other, but all good things have to come to an end eventually They are brought into the boss's office and told that they are not gonna be moving forward with the project And it's not just that it's too big of a risk. It's that the illustrations

[00:10:59] suck your illustrations are garbage Alex and Alex takes this very personally and Storms off the next day she is fed up with work She quits her job literally take puts all of her stuff in a box and walk walks right out

[00:11:16] She goes up to Alex holds up a very heavy Stereo boom box They kiss they published a book themselves in record time And they celebrate her birthday on the beach with all of the friends and now my friends was We did oh yeah

[00:11:37] Hello, I'm fixing to get something I don't know what they fix it. You know something I'll say quick make these jokes. I'm from here Brian You and your ashtray doughnuts at Duncan Feels like I'm on a line here. Yeah, yeah come on man

[00:12:08] Welcome back we were having a good time Today Fair when my dad would yell for me, and I was playing out in the yard. He has a doctorate and sounds like that Like both are true, so you know want to be very clear

[00:12:20] Let's get it to the hot take part of the shows where we share exactly how he felt about this movie We're talking June bug today the first of the summer nights movies Let's let's dive into a Brian. What'd you think about June bug? Yeah? I uh June bug

[00:12:33] I ended up liking this movie quite a bit. I felt like we had a Standout meet cute like for some reason that worked really well for me That like it caught me off guard a little bit I thought it was kind of funny the switch in the coffees

[00:12:51] And they did it like one extra time which was like sort of like when brand starts to make up songs He goes that one extra line that he didn't have to do

[00:12:58] But you're so psyched that he did it and that's how I felt about that little switch them up perfect little exchange there I feel like bill. This is like the bill Belichick model here. He's always like do your job in this movie

[00:13:11] I feel like did its job. It's got Belichick in there let's put it on the big boy Challenge for the week in our business meeting you Brian did it just do your job

[00:13:22] They have a classic car the have autumn reaser and O'Connell just knocking it out of the park Painting little children's book they hit like all the beats, and I had a real fun time the little girl crushed absolutely crushed

[00:13:36] She's done a lot of stuff. I was looking at her credits there No, I don't have anybody's name. No. I don't mean I think it was Mila. Okay, actually I did look that up

[00:13:45] So yeah, I actually liked it quite a bit. I had a really good time and a real solid offering for first summer night movie Um so I did quite enjoy this movie, I thought that there was a strong offering from the network

[00:14:00] And it's been a while. It's been a while since it's been a Jones you come here right now The movie was very sweet I thought that the two leads had Dynamic chemistry I thought boy They just they like

[00:14:19] The fact that it took as long as it did for them to kiss for the first time Was impressive because they looked like they wanted to make out every time they were on screen And the fact that we got a kiss as early as we did actually is

[00:14:30] Is something like I felt like it was it was great The old like my only complaints would be this movie Just the the conflict that happened at the end. I just I thought it was silly and I don't know if it's uh, if it's crazy

[00:14:47] I just kind of want I want them just to they just they're clearly really good together. Like why do we need this thing? Why do we need this thing? and if it meant I

[00:14:55] Think I would have preferred if like he's having a tough time and she just like she literally said don't do this Like like don't which was cool. Let that happen. Don't go down this this road

[00:15:04] He did still go down the road though, and I kind of artists. What do you I just liked that They were just good together. I don't really feel like we needed this whole like I'm storming off type of thing and

[00:15:16] Mila while wonderful I felt underutilized in the movies I kind of felt like either really go for it with this whole like my Childhood self is I can see her Really go for it and utilize it a lot or don't do it at all

[00:15:37] And I kind of felt like they didn't fully commit to the bit My guess would be originally there was a lot more of that and it kind of got trimmed back as things went on

[00:15:45] But overall really good and the best in a while. It's been it's been a tough stretch here, you know I think it was Phil Jackson that said thank you. This movie is not very good I think that's what Phil would say. Yeah

[00:16:00] Yeah, then then Zin's into you sir Autumn reaser hasn't been this good since love of Thanksgiving Day Parade. She's wonderful. I Loved her in this movie. She was fantastic Aaron O'Connell boy. Howdy this guy? Oh my goodness

[00:16:15] The guy is those who have incredible chemistry the bit with the kid Mila Jones. She's wonderful. They just stop It's like a movie that starts with narration and then they just go like well, we don't we just will stop it

[00:16:28] I forget about it and then she pops up so I feel like they either needed to do way more with her because she was wonderful and deserved the time or they needed to Not do that conceit because it makes this movie like a higher concept

[00:16:41] Like it makes it a tougher sell when you have this. I'm looking at my eight-year-old Version of myself who's kind of walking me through turning 40

[00:16:51] The thing about this movie that's tough is aside from the chemistry literally everything else if this movie isn't happening in a Hallmark movie and filmed It is a full mental breakdown a full Full-on mental breakdown midlife crisis in the worst possible way

[00:17:07] She's seeing things. She's quitting jobs. She's dating a homeless artist. Okay, there's a lot that's going on here. That's wild You put it that way It's a fight could be played very differently than how it's played on screen having said that the one of the

[00:17:23] Cardinal rules of these movies is the two leads having chemistry can cover a multitude of sins Aaron O'Connell autumn research do have that chemistry So it's not gonna wind up in the bottom of our list, but made a mistake. Not very good. I

[00:17:35] Thought it was a good time. Yeah, let's get to all the fields where we talk about Let's talk about what in this movie gave us feels Let's throw it over to the bill Belichick of podcasters. Thank you Brian. Thank you Brian. What'd you think about? He's Brian Harold

[00:17:50] Bill Belichick would be proud of that The so I did get hung up on the Aaron O'Connell Instagram for a while during this movie the guy flies planes

[00:17:59] He's very handy around the house. He loves dogs. That's what he's saying to everybody. I don't know how true it is He's doing a great job. I know that I think he flies dogs to families like in need and yeah

[00:18:10] He does some the guy is just makes everybody look bad operation fly dog Fly fly operation fly a dog fly dog does that help the a in the middle a fly dog Then yeah fly dog. Yeah fly dog fly dog

[00:18:26] The I guess my feels on this one is They producing stuff now Fly dog makes it sound like it's like more like serious and this is more like Roof who's this? Is this a different dog? It's not Zeus. Is it cuz you tell me I'm not sure

[00:18:45] Cuz you come out we had a dog on last week didn't we trying to do the synopsis for the he was Okay anything else buddy, what's your name? Ref hand left rough hands refrain Wars sworn Warren we're gonna go Warren. I like flying. Okay, real clear there's flying

[00:19:18] I feel like we could hear him crystal clear for a second. It was like a ghost Him giving him as an artist he gave her his number on a picture that he drew Which I'm super jealous about like I wish I could draw and give people

[00:19:34] Your number to women just any note just any note that I have to hand Monday stop selling Yes, Aaron. Hello. How are you? Yeah, as everybody Out of your way to look at Eric Otto's Instagram pause now So here's this post for you Brie

[00:19:59] Pilots thrive on checklists because it ensures our safety in the skies Goes on to say about all the things they check for but checklists aren't just for pilots They're for anyone who wants to ensure safety and a job well done. Oh my god Monday. Let's run the checklist

[00:20:14] That's what I'm talking about God I thought when you said that Aaron O'Connell was flying planes you talked about in this movie I thought you're talking about his character, and I was like as a pilot in real life. Yeah, that's awesome

[00:20:24] Yeah, and I really think he flies dogs like questioning his character as a person like sitting here going like The world did he know his movie he's out there flying planes, and he looks great doing it

[00:20:38] Dan literally when you said that Dan said at least that's what he's telling people Oh Why do you hate him so much Aaron shout out you're crushing it if you're doing this in real life, buddy Sorry, it's on me Yeah operation fly different than fly

[00:21:01] Basement someone's dogs on the DJs Is that it Dan Briar I want to mention is the place Aurora Roasters in the movie the coffee shop. Yes right next to it I look this up on Streetview is a place called is a place called yes chef

[00:21:21] Dude, and the place is called yes chef As excited as we are for that. We're not just got like we're Equally as disturbed at you street viewing yeah, well these locations. They're supposed to be in Seattle in this movie

[00:21:35] There's no way they're really in Seattle, so I look like they're in British Columbia They're in BC and so I'm looking at you. I'm looking around you see the alley where he's painting It's very cool, and then you see yes chef. Don't you find it

[00:21:47] I typed in Aurora roasters in maps, and I found it. It's a real place No right there, it's amazing looks very similar right listen in case you're wondering Brian has Street viewed it

[00:22:01] About anything all of you and get you wondering about anything name something Brian has Street viewed it And you out there if you're listening, and you're wondering if he is Street viewed your house Probably yes, yeah Many roads you whoever you are Yes

[00:22:18] Where I find a place yeah, no no I feel like you would love that I don't Find her whatever been I've never been anywhere for real. I don't know where things are in real life But you love to Street view them

[00:22:31] My feels is I thought autumn research hair was Magnificent in this movie it was full and it looked great I haven't talked to autumn about her hair in a while. I don't think you will be but I Look like she's been using neutral and Neutral calm

[00:23:05] You want hair like autumn research yep put that on the bottom Wow That's that can't be don't they get back to you guys a lot with corrections. I can't be allowed gonna be a correction right well They're not actually sponsoring this episode anything

[00:23:18] I can say whatever I want your shirt and say whatever you want For their money back Dana Donya cash is in this movie. They're fantastic Need to see more of them. They're great and and let's amp up what characters they get to play

[00:23:33] I think that would be amazing and Kind of kind of wasted in this movie in all honesty aside from interrupting a perfectly good kid We'll get there. We'll get there, but yeah, Tony cash shut up

[00:23:45] Let's take a quick break. We'll come back and we'll get to the way. What's in the what the Hallmark here on? Hallmark No village I BB if we all came back and Welcome back everybody it's Tuesday

[00:24:03] And Brian is losing his mind because it's not Monday anymore over the hump right we're Have I got a commercial for you It's time for wait what we're talking about June bug

[00:24:16] What what stuck out and June bug that made us go wait watch, and I will start with you Brian Brian anything Yeah, so when she when little June bug shows up That little June bug What was her middle name Lee?

[00:24:33] Nothing like whimsical happened like lights didn't flicker no nothing happened that I kind of like huh I Feel like something should have happened in that moment this movie decides to just play it neither

[00:24:46] Way yeah, they basically are like yes this thing's gonna happen. We're not going to really acknowledge that it's magic We're gonna acknowledge what it is, and then we're just gonna stop doing it halfway through the movie

[00:24:58] But yeah, you would think there would be more to it. Yeah some glitch Matrix as they say Alex the painter as they say the matrix as they say brain yeah

[00:25:08] Matrix this is something people say I want to be very clear about they say it say as they say about the matrix and glitches Alex he wants to be like us hidden painter Undiscoverable he's doing a terrible job Yeah

[00:25:22] Just out there painting on the corner of Main Street in front of everybody and people gathering around like he's not hiding at all No, you know he's not and he's like by not giving his name. It's not doing anything. I think he had a bad experience

[00:25:35] Yes, and so that's why he doesn't want to give his name, and it's not about hiding It's about not being able to be held accountable for the critique He doesn't think about it is is if it's the critique that

[00:25:47] Hurts him like someone can still critique a painting even if it's anonymous cuz yeah, and he's the one that knows So if he like here's feedback on a painting It's like yeah, it's gonna be like doesn't hurt cuz they don't know it's me

[00:26:03] It's still hard you did the worst doing it in a super public way everyone's got so many people everyone Saw it does know it's you 100% wear a mask like do a tiny painting inside somewhere, maybe She wouldn't shut up during open time

[00:26:19] I don't know like he's like it's open time the paint is perfect for mixture and what-have-you And she's just talk talk talk the whole time and in my mind. I'm like he must be going nuts This is open time Brian might be a sociopath Ha ha ha She's

[00:26:39] Anybody If anybody's talking to her in open time the painters got to be like really chomping at the bit to just be like it's open Time let's please let's focus here, but he was pretty cool about it. I wouldn't have been that cool about it

[00:26:53] I would have really been distracted by it And so she's still an editor right this whole time Do you ever like put these through do you ever like go like put it through a pass or some sort of like How's it gonna play?

[00:27:06] No, I mean, I just write I write the stuff down and I say say the stuff You know I Mean it's open time Over your shoulder. I can't read half these words. It's all caps how Running her yapper one of my days

[00:27:22] Is what you have written there? Yeah, I toned it down quite a bit. Yeah, you did, but it's open Open time and so the whole time she's she was I want the clip she wouldn't shut up Yes, open time just open

[00:27:37] And the whole time this the stack of manuscripts on her desk is just sitting there possibly growing But I'm not going anywhere because she's not editing Yeah, so that'll be it I This office is in desperate need of a conference room

[00:27:52] They you cannot have an all-hands meeting and ask everybody to come into the boss's office when Almost I think 90% of people are forced to stand. That's right because there's just not enough There's not enough space in this this office

[00:28:07] You need a conference room if you're gonna if you're gonna do it all hands like that And it's just how do they decide how do they decide who's sitting? This is a nightmare Yeah, you get to people lining up Line up people show up at 5 a.m

[00:28:22] Sit down at this meeting son of chairs for everybody. I want to give a special shout out to the editor of this movie who? chose to include a shot for no real reason of

[00:28:35] Aaron O'Connell walking across the street with that blue blue tank top on yes, just his biceps No, we didn't need it It didn't like like he just was walking to into her office They could have just had him walk in without showing him walking from there to here

[00:28:51] Street view I think would have confirmed that we would have figured out where he came from but boy, I'm glad they did cuz what a what a scene and We're all better for it. What are those pants? He?

[00:29:06] He's wearing these pants that have buttons down the side like halfway like no line Like they're gonna be like a like rip away pants like he's getting ready to play in the NBA Finals or something But then he's also wearing

[00:29:20] Suspenders not wearing this. Yeah, he has them. Yeah, like just you know He's just there's dangling around his butt and I don't know what those pants are I kind of liked him though

[00:29:30] But the more I saw them the more I was kind of taken by them and maybe that was the maybe that was the goal Maybe he sells them. Oh Yeah, maybe he made them himself. Maybe he made it himself and that's a he's getting we're talking about it

[00:29:43] She at one point is sitting crisscross applesauce on her bed Typing on her computer that is not on her it's in front of her, but she's sitting with perfect posture and it seems like something you would do and

[00:30:00] I just like the oh just I I know like the postures amazing and stuff, but it made my back Yeah Yeah, we talked about Don you cash Then brand did mention this

[00:30:20] The first kiss in this movie is interrupted not by a phone call not by a text message But by autumn reese's friends Coming over with coffee and clearing their throat

[00:30:34] Who in the world does that I don't care if you know them or not if you were delivering coffee You don't in someone's kissing you just turn right around you set the coffee down you walk away

[00:30:47] I mean, no one is interrupt like hey, I know you guys are sharing a moment here But I got to drop these two. There's no one else in the place. Why are you doing this? Why that was tough? This is tough scene to watch

[00:31:00] I know they had to write it because there has to be a kiss that gets You know broken up at least I did kiss but it was crazy Early in the movie In fact, I think during the opening credits You see her as a kid

[00:31:11] Writing different things to put in her box like for when she's older and she puts the first thing she puts in is she wants To find her night

[00:31:18] And then that's the first one she puts in and then at the end the last one she puts in is also to find her Night, she does that twice. It's already in the box. They screwed that up in the edit. Sorry not sorry When was the last time?

[00:31:33] my best guess is like Mid to 20s out of 2010s. When was the last time? That a dozen workers gathered in one office space Just to hear that they need to find the next big picture book for their publishing company Had to be pre covered

[00:31:54] Had to be like for a place that was small. This would have been done over zoom It would have been done over email it would have done in a conference room That that scene is crazy 12 people sure just the boss walks out and says hey

[00:32:08] Yeah, the quick announcement. She keeps saying they're a boutique publishing company, which they're not storefront property on Main Street 12 employees No however The idea that they're all jammed into her office not for some major announcement, but just to hear

[00:32:26] Picture books we got to get on that is crazy It's a crazy scene that should have never happened. It would if she would have walked out into the big area That's what would have happened there for sure. It goes without saying but her parents haven't aged a day

[00:32:40] Since juniper was eight years old. It's pretty impressive This guy Alex is that Aaron O'Connell's name? Alex Alex K is it's a good thing. He looks great because he's probably a serial killer He doesn't give his name in this movie until

[00:32:58] 35 minutes in we never see his home. He never talks about his home I'm not sure he has a home. Yeah, he was super vague about where he lives. Yes. He's vague about his name

[00:33:09] He's vague about where he lives. He doesn't want his name on a book cover anywhere There's a lot here that if he wasn't just stupid hot would probably pose some questions

[00:33:21] If autumn reaser has jumped in and she's like, this is great. And then all of a sudden after that third kiss He's like what if I crash at your place? forever It is a lot of red flags here a lot of red flags

[00:33:35] For the artist not to mention the fact that the cover of this book at the end of this movie is atrocious looking It looks terrible and it's like I don't I hope I don't know. Um, he's pretty good-looking guy. He is

[00:33:48] He's a great-look book no question about it autumn reaser is Seeing her eight-year-old self quitting her job and dating possibly a homeless man This is a full mental breakdown. That's what this is. It's in a nice hallmark package, but some midlife crisis

[00:34:06] Hey, I'm turning 41 tomorrow. I get it I understand it happens but boy boy. Oh boy a lot here that we would question One of the big hang-ups in this movie is is that the publisher? Refuses to print a book without giving an illustrator credit

[00:34:22] That is not a hang-up like you do whatever the illustrator wants you to do pseudonym Anonymous like no. What what is that? Right? Like am I crazy? Sued for something and she's like, I'm not even gonna play around with that. Well, then he just signed something

[00:34:40] Hey just sign this we're gonna pay you but you're not gonna she's not a very good boss. I guess she's terrible Not that great. I don't really really terrible boss and then Aaron brought this up while we were watching it at the end of this movie

[00:34:51] They're having a party on the beach and they have her new book that she's published Her 40th birthday is a week from when the movie starts a week or two from when the movie starts

[00:35:01] Is that her 41st birthday at the end of that movie because she already has all of these books printed written Everything's good to go Did they do that as a 41st or are we supposed to believe just by the magic of movies this all happened in a week

[00:35:16] It's a good what the Hallmark Dan it is. Well, I got those two so, you know, it's time for what the Hallmark I wonder what could have been maybe having this occurred any questions that we still have that we'd love some clarity on

[00:35:25] Yeah, right. What are you still wondering about? I'm wondering if I need to watch say anything. I have not seen it Okay, it's just fine. I do like how it was. It's iconic. Yeah Like

[00:35:39] You should probably see okay just because it is and I will say of those movies Yeah, like Breakfast Club pretty and pink like I think say anything would probably be my choice of those movies But I'm not really big on Okay

[00:35:56] And the only other thing was what's her parents deal like they seem so chill and like cool and good at stuff Like what's their deal? I Think that you are allowed to do one of these two things when

[00:36:11] It's your birthday one have a party on the beach. Yeah, or to Ask your friends to bring you a present. You can't do both of those things

[00:36:22] I don't think I because I think it's it's a it's I I think once you get to a certain point in life you stop getting Presents on your birthday from like everybody that you hang out with on your birthday

[00:36:35] Like it just stops being a thing but her got me something for tomorrow, right? No, and we're going We're going at the lunch and it is on on on the calendar It's a pen it's a bit your favorite pen, it's my favorite pin It's a good one

[00:36:55] All I'm saying is is she asked her for like she is having a birthday gathering on the beach Which already sounds like a nightmare to me. I don't want any part of that But then there's also a full table full of gifts 40 year olds to full of gifts

[00:37:07] We rolled in for me too old to be receiving gifts from friends. Yeah, I think so Aside from tomorrow, which I told you guys for anyone is a big year for me and I do want that's right best

[00:37:21] We are going out to lunch tomorrow and that offers only the business the business gonna pay for it You know what my half you're paying for my meal on your personal card not the business

[00:37:39] When I was at school like whenever somebody's birthday, I just took him out to lunch and like I paid for lunch and that was Like happy birthday. He's gonna do Your personal card it's a six and a half No, no, it's not six

[00:37:53] It's six and that all I'm saying is that is what you do That's what you do as adults And all I'm saying is if you are inviting me to your birthday party and it's on a beachfront I don't know. I don't also expect me to bring a gift

[00:38:07] I can't do both of those things not my thing But also I do think that there are exceptions for the zeros like 30 40. So that's a great point So I think you were gonna do the amount of gifts implies that it's the 40th. I will say that

[00:38:21] Yeah, the beach the the Chinese lanterns The real glass champagne flutes on the oceanfront With the presents that implies that it is 40 because I think that is your exception there 40 is a big deal Emily's saying I didn't realize Brian was anti Beach boy. Oh, yeah

[00:38:39] Emily you've not talked. It's like the first thing he says I Hate almost Everything about it. Yeah, it is miserable I will say if there was a time I was going to go to the beach for a birthday party

[00:38:51] It would be at night where it's cooler get the nice ocean breeze. I can I'd be okay with that I'd be okay with that Dan. Uh, yeah, we did say this a little bit earlier, but the the kid in this movie Mila, yeah, which we knew I

[00:39:06] wonder how much of that I think brand you alluded to this like they There must have been more of that on the cutting room floor. I I want to know the version of this movie

[00:39:16] That's 84 minutes, but is more Mila forward like is more like she's really that relationship is really driving this This like catharsis of being 40 and going for it and blah blah blah I think that is a movie that I think would be a little bit better

[00:39:33] And I'm just curious as if it exists or if this is all we had For that character because you could only have them for four days to shoot and that's all you can do. That's my big question We did it everybody

[00:39:44] Congratulations, it's time for double dagger the weeks where we dive deep into the life of one of the double deckers Brian you've done that deep dive

[00:39:49] You took a pause from looking at Google Street View and you switch over to Google Plus and you've done the deep dive on somebody You also know where they live and what their house looks like. Who is it today different system today's double decker of the week is

[00:40:02] Susan Gherke Yeah, beautiful porch Susan just in the Bramble Fest three times Wow Something to say out loud three times. I think it's impressive at least twice. I've done it four times. We've done it for the train

[00:40:17] Yeah, not bad. Not bad and she'll have a chance to do have her fourth visit next year we think fingers crossed so Susan has a She's actually pushing a new dating You know, we don't know if we're you know, everything is up in the air all the time

[00:40:34] So I love if you said we weren't doing Bramble Fest next year. We would probably have to shut down the whole thing Think we took that away. It would shut. That would be it would be it. No be it the one thing at this point

[00:40:48] The double-decker, yeah, we'd be forced into it probably yeah, it would happen with us Google Street View, you'd have to shut down Street View for a few So Susan came over the I took my name off the Christmas card list, okay everybody

[00:41:07] Susan is Brian going to kill Susan. No, just want to say thanks She has a new dating tool, okay a lot of dating tools out there and she's got a new idea all those apps It's it's an app, but it's there's more to it than the app functionality

[00:41:28] It's like a whole thing and so it's What they do is Susan's really pioneering this they mail you a variety of dates and you choose a date This is the food and then they they match you up with somebody who also

[00:41:44] Chose the same date. Is it is it the food like a date? Yes, okay And then once you choose the same date what like what happens a bunch of like pictures of dates pop up

[00:41:56] You get the date oh and you choose one try no, is there a name for this business and then Yeah, there is what's the name? It's called candidate. That's not bad great candidates

[00:42:07] And so you get a variety of dates and then you they just come in a can too. Yeah, obviously Goodness, and they just keep sending you dates and someone has to pick the same date

[00:42:18] Yeah, so you have to send the dates back. Yeah, you pick the date and then you're like, it's great Hey, yeah, you just put it back all back in the can you send it back? Then they send that same grubby can of dates to different person

[00:42:30] Everybody gets a big shipment of dates and you kind of try on you maybe rate them. Yeah you How am I ready someone else no you use what you like your preference yes, and then whoever has

[00:42:43] Someone at the same preference the dates are different in there. They get the same. It's not the same variety It's a variety of day. Yeah, this date is from this farm God Sorry, sorry, that's

[00:42:58] I'm just assuming you get it. You get a can. Yeah, it is, you know labeled ABCD some sort of form I'm not sure going letters, but I don't want to put words

[00:43:08] And then you ship it back and then they try to find somebody that gave the same ratings as you or yeah Like the same ideal your first choice date. They'd match you up with somebody Interesting to match somebody you would give candidates a whirl Yeah
