[00:00:01] Hi, I'm Brandon. I love Hallmark New New Year New You movies is there a theme I think it's New Year New You I'm Brian I like Hallmark New Year New
[00:00:12] You you movies I'm Dan and I despise Hallmark New Year New You movies and this is the deck the Hallmark podcast So I hope that people aren't noticing anything weird about me on decorations one note on Philo if you're watching you can see that I am
[00:00:50] Presence you are here correct. I am also on a boat currently and you might be wondering how's he doing? Yes, you gonna be able to do that all week Well, thanks for asking over the holiday season. I invented some new tech what?
[00:01:05] Yes, it is called recording early. No no alright. It's uh It's a hologram is hologram related Agree adjacent. Yes, I did see them live. Yes, whoa, and I think it's pretty good It's pretty good as long as I don't do a lot of motions
[00:01:26] Yeah, okay, so you're gonna try to stay as I want to stay as still as possible This movie as well People don't know what a glitch That's right. Whoa. He's glitching
[00:01:39] That look like just a fly flew in your face. They did not look like a glitch at all No, Dan's right. That was not it. That was not a glitch. It's a TV slash DTH. We would never try to tell you no glitch No problem right came in
[00:01:50] Glunch over the holiday season and if you think that that's all you need phylo for you're wrong You're gonna find so much fun stuff right here right now January
[00:02:02] In too much like where can I watch round and round again? Well if you had it on your DVR and phylo wouldn't be a No problem at all Lots to get to today I guess But what I want to know overall is how was your weekend?
[00:02:20] It's Tuesday it rained like cats and dogs all week so close to snow. Yeah, we once again It was no clothes Nicely done 34 degrees while raining yeah, and it's just nobody nope. There's nothing better than a cold rain. Am I right?
[00:02:38] Oh, cold and wet. Can't do anything. Yeah, we spent eight hours the trampoline park. It's great. It's great Yeah, but I you know what? It's not looking any better in the future As I as I look at the models Kind of comparing the GFS
[00:02:55] It's not looking good and I was promised big snow this year It's to El Nino Fulmers the farmers hang out with you too much over the break the farmers almanac is a just a lying piece of garbage And I'm here to call you out
[00:03:10] We keep giving these farmers an almanac and they keep telling us what's gonna happen and they're always wrong Maybe maybe last time the farmers almanac is nailed it. I don't know great question Look up what the farmers almanac says for Greenville in February
[00:03:25] We're gonna get a big snow in February according to the farmers That's what I want to know while you do that I want to tell you about love on the right course Love on the right course originally aired on January 6th 2024 if you can believe that
[00:03:39] first movie of the new year knew you and me and me and us and it went a little something like the Coldest periods will arrive in late December and early and mid February Okay, the best chances of snow
[00:03:53] Occurring in late January and mid February. Okay. Now. This is your chance put your blast farmers right if we get past the deckies and then past Valentine's Day, and we don't have any snow you Farmers are lying. We should burn a farmer for farmers
[00:04:11] We've tried to be pro-farm for a long time. We need farms. Well, do we do we I'm not Predict why you got the almond no farm. No shut it down Shut down the farmers almanac is all I'm saying we have the internet. We have a Doppler
[00:04:26] We don't need a bunch of farmers at that edge finger and putting up in the wind or I guess on snow in a you know They updated the Doppler and it's an even even better edge. It's better than 15 minutes. Yeah, what is it like? It's like a lot
[00:04:40] 15 was a lot. That's more 30 maybe double you don't know I do know it's more I Love on the right course and I went a little something like this Whitney is a professional golfer who has really been struggling with her Golf game since her mom passed away
[00:05:00] Two years ago she loses to Brit Bristo and Is at odds with her caddy who quits when he finds out that instead of focusing on The next round She decides you don't have to get been down the cameras I'm good Whoa big way She
[00:05:44] Is a tsunami perfect story. It's a tsunami a tsunami. It's a tsunami Fulmer's army. It's a tsunami The caddy basically is like I'm out of here when he finds that that instead of focusing on the next round and
[00:06:00] Relying on him for coaching she decides to go to Hungary To see her dad She does hang out with dad for a bit and then hits the family course where she meets Daniel who didn't know that She was wearing noise cancelling earbuds
[00:06:17] He's basically running the course since her mom died and dad stopped coming into work He even does an impression of him on the phone with people so that they don't know that he's not there anymore After getting lunch with her dad He drops a bombshell
[00:06:34] He wants to sell and move away from all of his sorrow dad does can you believe that help dad feel better? She gets him a dog without his permission. It's gonna go great
[00:06:46] Daniel throws out to Whitney that if she ever wants some help remembering how much fun golf It's a good day on the golf course better than bad day bad day anywhere All gone golf course even a good bad day on the golf courses is
[00:06:59] Better than a good day anywhere else According to farmers and farmers He's like our farmers Bum-ba-ba-ba-ba If you want to know how fun golf is again, I'm here for you How's he gonna do that by hitting cans down with golf balls? That's how you do it
[00:07:17] This obviously leads to them hanging out and together they come up with an idea For a members day so that her dad can reconnect with some old friends And it's at this point that I am faced with
[00:07:31] Concerned that this might be a sneaky party planning movie. I wasn't though Didn't end up being that at all the members party had almost no consequence to this movie They end up playing a round of golf together and he ends up giving her some pretty good life advice
[00:07:47] Which actually happens to be really bad golf advice close your eyes Make a wish and hit it as hard as you can good life advice Bad golf advice Yeah, yeah
[00:08:01] So the next day she asked if he would be willing to be her coach and help train for the open and he says yes But she gets mad when she finds out that Daniel is Isn't actively trying to stop people from buying the place that
[00:08:17] Her dad wants to sell but after talking to her dad and realizing that Daniel was just doing exactly what dad said to do She apologizes so they hang out some more they cook a golf And she decides that she wants him to be her caddy at the open
[00:08:34] But when Andrew the old caddy shows up because she's getting some press and Insist that he joins her for one last round to remind her how awesome he is at caddying
[00:08:44] She can't say no Daniel gets a little bit jelly and Andrew gets annoyed by how much she's talking about Daniel Then dad gets an invoice from the real estate agent because he got an offer on the house within 30 days
[00:08:57] And it's above asking price so apparently even though he doesn't want to sell anymore. He owes her money Smells fishy So she asked Daniel if she if he wouldn't mind asking his real estate lawyer brother for some advice When Whitney asked Daniel to help with a round
[00:09:17] He's like you should probably just go with Andrew and make things less complicated Turns out the real estate agent was a fraud It's time for the tournament and it's not going great
[00:09:29] So she starts doing some things that Daniel taught her you know the close your eyes make a way as hard as you can It turns out it's working Andrews like you can't just close your eyes and make a wish and she's like watch me. You're fired
[00:09:43] Daniel then comes down they make up and he joins her for the final round she wins Take that brick Bristo they kiss and dad is gonna stay as well And now my friends was love on the right course Four
[00:10:08] Goodness we're gonna take a quick break. We'll be right back. He's it break this with me down here on Brian this year I Would like to eat less Fast food I would like to go out to the drive-thru less than I did in 2023

[00:11:49] Welcome back. We're talking about love on the right course is the name of the movie your first movie of the year taking place on location Talking about golf. That's what we're doing here for New Year new you me us. Yes
[00:12:09] We got four segments to break it down. We're not changing that up believe you me We're gonna start with the hot take it is where we share exactly how he felt about us
[00:12:18] I'm gonna start with you Brian. Brian. What do you think about love on the right course? Yeah This this was an interesting direction to go to start off the year coming like violently hard out of the holidays just such a harsh
[00:12:33] Turn and it had to have been a conscious decision to say where we're sweet You know just blown away the holidays and we're shifting gears and letting everybody know we mean business We're done. We're moving on and I didn't like that very much
[00:12:46] I kind of what last year we did a dog one first, but there was also like a New Year's resolution thing I wish we were easing into it a little bit more
[00:12:56] Little bit more like maybe something a little more nostalgic or reflective. I wasn't in the right headspace for this Hungry look great. I guess if it were like spring summer you have to see a lot of hungry in this movie
[00:13:11] You think this is the Budapest tourism folks would be like yeah, this is Budapest There's a country club a house and a deck on top of a building. Yeah, so nice looking water
[00:13:22] So I just wasn't in the mood for this it was fine for what it was a goal I think they did golf all right You hope for a lot of golf yeah, we got some golf we didn't get we got golf
[00:13:39] Something I thought that I'm not a pro. I don't have an eye of a problem. They don't call me eagle I herald then why wish they did they don't they don't but why did you say they did go off? Well, it didn't look
[00:13:49] Aggregious to me watching the goal. I wasn't watching it going oh, that's terrible like they were swinging there were the balls are flying They did you know that close your eyes make a wish hit as hard as you can as bad
[00:14:01] Terrible. Yeah. That's terrible. Did you watch the scene where they were chipping at buckets or yeah That makes no sense That makes no sense. Did you watch how they were swinging the clubs and they were doing that
[00:14:10] That's probably not how you should swing the clubs I guess but you weren't playing golf at that moment Okay, you know they were they weren't there playing a game I would love to have and I would not do this for most movies that I'm gonna trash
[00:14:21] But Marcus is such a great sport. Yeah, he makes so many movies and he understands the limitations of the movies Sure I would love to have him on to talk about the golf of this movie and how little like he like just watch him
[00:14:35] Swing a golf club it was a riot Yeah, but it felt fine for what it was for me. I don't I wasn't looking for I wasn't looking to watch golf
[00:14:45] Did it let me ask you this the hockey stuff and checking it twice. Yeah, oh man that bothered you That was not good bothered you a lot. It was not good
[00:14:52] Do you think that movie did better by hockey or this movie did better by golf in your uninformed on golf? This better on golf that is You had only absurd. I don't know I have to do side-by-side
[00:15:04] I'm telling you it's it's absurd for a number of reasons the hockey was there was so But that's how I feel about so wasn't it the same thing didn't he tell him close your eyes? Did they do something like that?
[00:15:16] But like he did something weird as make a wish break away He did something funny and checking it twice where you try to teach him how to shoot at the net
[00:15:23] You're feeling about checking it twice like times that by a hundred at how bad they were at golf They didn't even use the right terminology in this movie for golf Like they don't I don't even know if they know what golf is they might not the only
[00:15:35] Exception that is Ashley new bro did some clearly did some work to learn how to swing a golf She had a great swing. That was the one thing that they did yeah
[00:15:41] And just even walking on the course fof. I don't know just being on like maybe just being on like you say brand A good day on the golf course, but can I ask you this Dan? Do you think it's possible that?
[00:15:51] Like what were the what were the terms that they got wrong? Oh, they never say the word round all movie Okay, can I ask you this? So do you think is that a Canadian thing?
[00:16:01] I was fast because I'm so Brent Bristow and her husband they wrote this movie, okay And I know Brit like at least I talked to her to she goes a bit. Yeah the fact that they continue to say
[00:16:12] Hey, you want to go play a game later? Yes crazy and there are Canadian golfers who are relatively famous I've heard interviews with them. They've never said game like you say the game of golf if you're playing golf
[00:16:23] Game of course you always say we're gonna go play a round of golf or I didn't have a good round today You never say a good game today And I I feel like that's pretty universal because it's what they say for the open championship and in like
[00:16:38] Britain too so like I've never maybe maybe they maybe it was a Note to change it to because like maybe they assume Hallmark fans don't know golf people know what a game is That's the only one like there's some stuff that there's no way
[00:16:55] That they do differently in Canada sure no way but fundamentally no way Yeah, I and I'll just go and tell you this because it wasn't gonna be my hot take This is the worst
[00:17:07] Depiction of a sport in a Hallmark movie I've ever seen ever it's worse than game set love I played tennis and golf in high school. It's worse than game set love It's worse than any of the baseball movies including the Deloach
[00:17:19] Walker one it's worse than the skiing one from sure which I thought they did an actually a good job It's worse than taking a shot at love or checking it twice any any about the football movie the only I've not seen oh the Ryan payday. Yeah
[00:17:33] The thing about that is is they make it clear that it's flag football and then they take all of The they strip away all of the things that tie it to the NFL to where I just am kind of like
[00:17:45] Whatever and they and so maybe that one you could maybe make an argument that one this is really bad though guys I mean The fundamental argument of the movie about a caddy and a coach is does not exist
[00:17:58] Well, it's that part was a huge weight what for me. It's just like you don't get every head game Everyone in golf knows the difference between a caddy and a coach and everyone knows that a caddy does more than carry your back
[00:18:10] Everyone if you've ever played one round of golf I feel like you know that and this movie doesn't know that like they don't get the basic parameters of
[00:18:19] Golf right in the movie and I like even the she finishes 12th, and then she's gonna lose your card the next week never Would never happen. You don't have to win to be successful at golf. You don't there are
[00:18:32] Dozens of golfers that have made over 10 million dollars that have never won a tournament like I It was it was as bad a depiction of sports in the movies that I've ever seen and I I hate that for Brit
[00:18:45] Because I love Brit Bristow. I love Ross Rosser. It was bad though that part of it was bad It's how you felt about hockey times 100 to me. Yeah, go ahead Of course yeah, um, yeah, I mean this movie is whatever I would have preferred a winter sport
[00:19:02] Yeah, I just need I I need time like I am I'm mourning the loss of Christmas Yeah, and when we have a winter Month the kind of I still get the white lights in the background and the snow on the ground
[00:19:15] Like I can I can make peace with that. This was a harsh right turn to Hungary And Just not something that I really was hoping for I do you know, this is the second or third
[00:19:31] Newboro Rosner joint we've seen and clearly they're comfortable together. I think they work fine together good chemistry overall The golf we've talked about it's happy for Bristow This is a something she wrote and made it to screen and that's fantastic for her and overall though
[00:19:52] not the strongest showing to start the new year and What can you do about that not much but good to see friends at work, you know good to see friends at work Yeah, this movie's train wreck bad and once again we love Brit
[00:20:08] We love Marcus. It's it's not a good movie And I think the reason it's really bad is because of three things one is what brand and Brian said about winter I get it. I understand that they're not doing seasons
[00:20:18] We're trained for winter fest movies and when you're if it's January 4th or 11th or 6th or whatever it is And you got a hot cup of coffee and it's freezing cold outside Thanks farmers almanac and and you turn on a a
[00:20:33] Golfing movie that takes place in Budapest You're just gonna lose Any interest because Budapest isn't known for a lot of American golf tournaments of any kind play in golf
[00:20:47] That's that's one reason that it's not good to me one more swing in the night. I'm gonna make a check Putt putt there you go nicely done The second reason is oddly it has a lot going on like it has maybe two too many plot lines
[00:21:05] You've got the dad and the real estate thing. You've got the dad and the dog That is a lot. You've got the dad and the loss of his wife You've got Ashley new bro trying to refind her game mourning the loss of her mom
[00:21:21] Falling in love with Rossner, which is just a really kind of small part of this movie You've got Rossner who might go and leave the club And you've got this weird plot line where they're looking for a cook
[00:21:31] For the golf course and they've got these friends whose restaurant is closing. Yeah, like and then you meet Rossers parents They didn't even try to disguise the The restaurant You saw immediately when they introduced that person like there There's your shop, but it's you know one
[00:21:52] There are at least nine legitimate plot lines happening in this movie and that is too many and then lastly the golf's bad And I think those three things happen and I would actually disagree in flipping for Christmas new bro and Rossner
[00:22:05] I thought actually worked really well together in this movie. They don't have the same I don't know what it is. I felt like they had chemistry. It's just like I Well, I just think that there's a lot like
[00:22:16] It's hard because you have this like a heavy storyline of mourning the loss of mom and it's hard to kind of I just constantly flip-flop from I got a I'm getting my dad a dog because he is so depressed. Yeah, so like hey
[00:22:32] Funny let's go paint each other and have sexy time like it's you're not gonna get that I think Rossner is good at so many things and I dude is crazy hot He's in these movies and does an amazing job and then him talking golf and then trying to
[00:22:49] Teach golf. I just I it never it didn't work for a second for me This was a tough watch for me all the way around really really bad Can I just say though? This was I think the saddest dad on record
[00:23:02] I don't think they've ever leaned this hard into depression. Yeah, yeah Like do this dude unmistakably not leaving. He's sleeping late. Yeah, he's not going to work anymore Like this is as clear of a depressed character as we've ever seen on homework and they went hard
[00:23:20] They went hard on it So it's hard when you have that yeah most depressed character in the history of cinema and also like correct Let's invest in this love story like real estate. Yeah Yes
[00:23:34] Let's get to the all the fields. Let's talk about what this we gave us feels bright. Yeah, well one The first thing I noticed in this was market you mentioned he looked great
[00:23:43] It does like loose dude and his like he looked like a golf pro like his shirts Just and also, I don't know his Instagram was a little spicy over the holidays and so I didn't see it Holy cow. See you use on an island in the water
[00:23:57] So I'm sure it's not needed. It's Like I commented and said Photoshop Looks like a superhero. Yeah, and so watching this movie knowing what's under the shirt I'm just like dude hashtag unleash the beast or something. It's gonna happen. This is inevitable now that this guy does No
[00:24:23] Ridiculous I don't know if it's gonna show up or not but look at us. It doesn't do it justice Oh my god, you should be here phenomenal. Yes Sweetest the spicy. Yeah some some list. It's unbelievable. It was distracting knowing what's under the shirts
[00:24:41] The shirt look great, but you're like, yeah that much problem paying attention when you know, what's under somebody sure that guy looks It's a weird thing to say he's just in such great Just knowing that he like basically almost died like over the past year or whatever like
[00:24:57] He's come back And I fought death and came back looking like that You Ross I almost feel bad I gave this movie a hard time knowing two of our dear friends who've worked so hard or yeah I don't because it's not a good movie, but love you guys
[00:25:18] Yeah So that was I was in the dog getting a the dad getting a dog. It's pretty nice too But mostly Rosner just doing the Rosner thing there Yeah, I mean I was happy that
[00:25:31] Brit made a cameo as the as the rival golfer. I thought that was a fun. Yeah I mean, I think she golfs so like But yeah, that was that was about it
[00:25:43] The parent says a name in a line in this movie in the line is you have to chase your own dreams Even if you haven't dreamt them yet That is Something that is that we need to unpack I just
[00:25:58] Give it to me one more time. You need to chase your own dreams Even if you haven't dreamt them yet, so that's wild. Yeah Yeah I feel like we went a little bit above and beyond with great parenting at that point
[00:26:11] Like you need to chase the things that you might not even you might not even yeah, no you're chasing I mean it sounds great. I don't like I'd like a like a Hallmark card. I think maybe
[00:26:22] But it it was it was mine, but I heard the line is like actually write this down This is not a normal follow your dreams shoot for the moon You need to do literally do anything other than what I need is what this parent was saying
[00:26:35] He's like you know not only do you chase your own dreams and not help me with the golf club Do you need to even if you don't have a dream or you already got it? You need to start
[00:26:44] Dreaming and what is like are they is it like I mean any grown woman. It's not like she is a kid She's a professional. She's she's lived her dream. Yes, don't help me in my depressed state You need to dream
[00:27:02] Another dream. Yeah, you know if you haven't dreamt of me. Is it like I think it may be sort of like passion Go after that cuz you don't know where we'll lead I just think it's a it's a like
[00:27:13] What you want to do in your life shouldn't be held back by my thing is what they're trying to say this It's like you should be doing something else
[00:27:19] But even if you haven't dreamt of me yet, I mean Ashley new bros mid 30s like you never know what's gonna happen Yeah, never know what dreams are gonna around the around the horizon ever no
[00:27:29] That's true. I'll say a quick break. We'll come back with the way what's and what the hallmarks here on Sorry it's about Waves coming out No, me it's time for the way what swear we talked about one this we made us go wait what
[00:27:56] Right. Yeah. Yeah, we had a dog Zuki. This was good good pup But there were a few times the dog was on screen and you that dog looks scared for its life The thing was at one point frozen
[00:28:08] Just staring backwards at the wall just I don't know what why how they made that happen the dog was Going through some training. I guess still maybe something like that
[00:28:20] It it was very funny because a lot of points the dog's just staring into space clearly at a trainer sometimes just at a wall The Marcus says he mentioned the job offer and then she found the job offer and it was a contract a contract a printed
[00:28:36] Unfolded pristine in a manila envelope. Yeah, beautiful contract Uh, I didn't even put in this an option because it mattered so little It's just like it was there for a wait what because it's it wasn't so he must have printed himself
[00:28:50] He says it was just a job offer. I'm not taking that like I get those all the time But a full on contract. No, you clearly Like Initiated or at least talk back to them. Did someone deliver it printed? That was like sort of
[00:29:06] Served it's not it's just a deal. There's a scene before that right before she comes in where he's looking at what we Supposes the contract. Yeah thinking long and hard about it. Yeah, and then for him later to be like well
[00:29:18] Why'd you I think he was only thinking it because he knew there was an offer on the table for the house But then later he But yeah, it must have been a courier
[00:29:28] Because it wasn't it wasn't even folded. I have for you one of your many many contracts You get requested. Yes, you get it all the time. Uh her Her Representation as a professional golfer is pretty terrible in this movie. Yes
[00:29:44] Basically non-existent like not once did she get a phone call from her manager or an agent or anybody saying Like hey, what's going on? Like what do you want to hey? We have uh, somebody's rescinded their sponsorship of you
[00:29:57] That's why you're not wearing any branded gear of any kind nothing Like and this was like sort of an opportunity to like play with that because in golf That's that's everywhere. That's everywhere like but I will say this they do they go out of their way
[00:30:11] They don't do it successfully. They go out of their way To make look I don't know and I looked it up briefly. So I won't say I didn't do any research on it, but Guys eastern europe is just not a hub for professional golf
[00:30:26] They have their own league But if you're in the LPGA and PGA The big major championships do not take place In eastern europe yet They don't they're kicking it off here. And so
[00:30:39] They don't ever like it's like yeah, she has no brain to close on she's playing in the eastern european open or cup or whatever It is But then people recognize her on the streets
[00:30:47] How shocked are you when you found out that the open was there? I was I was like I couldn't believe they're like She had they at one point they say the line She has to finish 12th In this tournament to qualify for the eastern european open next week
[00:31:06] Which typically those things happen a lot a lot further in advance, whatever And then she goes they say at the beginning of the movie. Yes. Okay. I didn't hear that. So when I keep saying the open I'm like, oh, okay big u.s. Open or something
[00:31:20] No, but they got hungry to film in because it's cheap and so and her dad lives there. So Yeah, that that takes you out of it the fact that she's wearing no brands. Well, that makes sense if she's playing in
[00:31:30] Hungry but if people recognize her it's like no you're not brand she's like the whole yeah, you should have some I mean something some local like Coffee shop or something like it wasn't a fun thing to do is just include some random fake
[00:31:44] Sponsorships on the clothes because it looked really weird to just have blank Like coodles and ties. Yes exactly like that coodles coodles net time Business the best yep the best so that that was funny
[00:31:58] The let me see here blah blah blah the uh the text that says give me a call Uh, which is interpreted as come see me fly over here to see me and try for me Such a stretch because and like the cat. Yeah the role of coach catty
[00:32:16] Oh my gosh, the thing that bothered me the most was a catty like They're they're livelihood not their livelihood, but their livelihood that's yeah, it depends on your success
[00:32:26] They get a percent of your winnings and you want to be a great catty. So if you're just constantly berating your golf No, you're you're already like it's a head of game like you're you can't sit there and be like you're gonna fail
[00:32:39] If a professional golf catty was watching this movie their tv would be broken Yeah with the golf club. I assume because golf club for the moment. A are good golfers on their own Yeah, b they never their livelihood depends upon the golfer and see they do not
[00:32:55] Coach and then carry clubs or just carry clubs right the caddies get their weeks early They walk the golf courses. Yeah, they got all the air in the terrain You don't get a gps or an app during a golf tournament
[00:33:08] This guy's got a book or girls got a book And she's flipping through he's flipping through to find exact yardage Calculating the wind like looking at his followers
[00:33:18] Don't just carry the club like yeah at one point this movie new brewery looks at him and goes you can't coach me But you can be my caddy. So just carry the clubs and not don't talk No, no, no
[00:33:31] If you go to a nice club now and someone caddies for you one time Their job is not to carry your clubs. They're gonna come up to you at every t-box and go
[00:33:40] Hey on this hole it goes a little this way. It's here. You may not have played this a lot Remember this Guys, it's a big job. Like if a golf caddies watch this move, they had to be like what what what do we like it is
[00:33:51] This made hallmarks depiction of photographers look like a winning depiction. That's how bad it was It was bad. You good. Yeah, I'm good so when She and daniel first meet each other
[00:34:02] She is practicing with noise canceling earbuds and which first why like when like when you're working on your free throws You don't do it in silence. You need like the crowd noise
[00:34:15] So I don't know why you would not want to hear the surrounding sounds when you're working on your game Because that's what you're gonna hear in real life. But also who does that?
[00:34:26] Who just does noise canceling not listening to anything? That's a wild move and uh, just good good good for her Um, I I want to know how well they work not that well. They can't they can't it like it does
[00:34:40] Like it does fine. But like she would have been able to hear Yes, like noise canceling plus listening to something that you can drown out anything in the world But just noise canceling get out of here. Um, I
[00:34:54] Was a good way into this movie when I realized that this guy Lives there. Yeah, like yes lives works All of it is there so he like I I don't know why it I it didn't even it never occurred to me that this guy character Daniel is from
[00:35:15] Budapest. Yeah, he didn't just live there right his But that's not what i'm talking about born and raised. I'm talking about the dad Who lives at the course like he had he has a uh court is open Yes, so come also, but I'm gonna let I do
[00:35:30] So check in do all that so I'll be down the hall in my bedroom like all that's happening in a separate house It seemed like it was all one place to me. Oh, no, maybe it was a separate house. Okay. Yeah
[00:35:40] It does look similar though, but it's okay. Okay. Um last but not least At the beginning of this movie she and Andrew get in an argument about Next steps and he's like we need to Practice and he's and she's like no I need to go home
[00:35:54] Like I need to go home I want to do some time and I'll work on my game there and he like is beside himself And my question is why it The course is all there. That's right
[00:36:05] Like that is a pretty darn good place to be practicing is in is in eastern europe one would say the best Yes, I'm gonna go to the family course
[00:36:15] And I'm in the geographical location of where the tournament is talk about it. Where is he wanting her to go? Yeah, talk about an advantage. Yeah your course growing up is the course that they're holding the open I don't know if that's true though
[00:36:28] I think it's in eastern europe, but I don't think the course because daniel has to travel to go find her Oh, he's because he was at his parents house in the city. Okay, they're playing on this one course that whole move
[00:36:39] I just figured that can't be true. Yeah same course. I don't know. Are we 100 positive? Yeah, I wanted it to look like you bet the farm would you bet the farm on it? I'd bet the almanac for sure. I'll do that in my sleep. Wow. Yeah, uh, dana
[00:36:51] um Early in this movie there are tv announcers at the golf match at the beginning and they say Uh that ashley new bro her character
[00:37:00] Is one of the favorite was one of the favorites this season, but since her mom died two years ago. She hasn't been the same Why would she be one of the favorites this year
[00:37:11] If her mom died two years ago and she was terrible the year after her mom died Why would all of a sudden you think with no change of any kind?
[00:37:20] She would be the favorite the following can I ask you this at the end of this movie when she wins Do they say that this is our first one in five years?
[00:37:28] I thought it was two, but I could be wrong. Okay. Two would be great. She was on a long winning streak She then says tournaments are brutal when you're not winning. Um, I would like to uh Introduce you to literally every professional golfer in the world
[00:37:42] Who would tell you that while they want to win if you finish second third or fourth or fifth or sixth If you finish in the top 10 in a tournament your payday is Massive yeah, even if you're on
[00:37:54] This tour if you finish second third or fourth you're getting six figures is what you're receiving Tournaments are not brutal if you lose That idea is crazy even you actually you typically do lose. Yeah. Yeah And I look this up like on the pga tour people have made
[00:38:17] Like 16 golfers in the last two decades have made 10 million dollars without ever winning a single tournament What I would I'll be interested in is what is the longest winning streak in professional golf like winning
[00:38:32] Winning tournaments in a row. There's doesn't happen vj. Kenny Perry all had a streak of 3 4 5 But like that's it. Yeah to for her to have this winning streak, which is a great one the hallmark um At one point the dad's getting close to the dog and he goes
[00:38:47] That dog got me out of the house in the morning and then they laugh and he goes and then he got me outside another dozen times a day Does that dog need to go to the vet? Like you the dog is asking to go out
[00:39:00] A dozen times a day What are you talking about that's That's egregious. There's a that's a lot. That's a let's a da da lot a lot there One of my biggest weight-weights of this movie is the first time that rosner meets new bro
[00:39:16] He rolls up in a golf cart and he goes She's got that earbuds in and he says I thought I knew every golfer that got here before the sun rises It's midday it is mid the sun couldn't be higher
[00:39:31] It is the sunlight is glaring it's so the the sun rose hours ago And I and I was just like why did they get deliver that line with that sunlight? And then he says what time is your tea time? And she says 6 30
[00:39:52] In them are we supposed to believe it's not 6 30 am yet That it couldn't be brighter outside It could it couldn't be what times the sunrise in budapest 2 a.m What I think they do it different in hunger sure I was I I couldn't
[00:40:11] Get past the fact that they were trying to pass that scene over as just being a normal Me cute scene you're doing a great job displaying your new watch. It's not a new watch, but you're wearing it now
[00:40:22] I'm trying to become a watch and you have it you have it like you're doing this whole thing like you're modeling it For phylo. Yeah right here The first thing I noticed I don't even know
[00:40:34] Here here now it's all I would have left wrist but right wrist. I'm right right handed right But but I'm left handed and everything else I do see him here cocky
[00:40:42] Yes golf baseball off right actually. Yeah, I golf left. I don't yeah, that's why I'm no good. I'm doing it wrong You're doing it wrong. That's what it is two other real quick ones one the art the offer that that uh
[00:40:55] He gets for this entire golf club is 8 million euro, which Is absurdly low like there are golf courses In greenville that aren't private and don't host any tournaments
[00:41:08] That I know of one that just sold for six million dollars and it's a goat track. Like it's nothing a goat track That is like legitimately I I just don't understand You're cool for that right now
[00:41:21] No, a goat tracks a pretty common thing in the south that we say if a golf course is bad Oh, wow, I never had before that's funny goat tracks
[00:41:26] That would be a if you're southern and play golf then you knew exactly what I was talking about if not then Then I'm just super duper redneck. Good day to go track. That's right Take the goat track and then uh, lastly
[00:41:37] I will read the line as it was read Think of this ball as an opportunity to make a wish Close your eyes Then hit it as hard as you can I It's good life advice What what is happening You would never say
[00:41:59] Any of that aside from think of this ball as an opportunity right To someone as they're swinging a golf club close your eyes. We would never do it break away. All right. That's all I got Uh, it's time for what the hallmarks. Well, we're welcome. Remember
[00:42:12] Uh, bruh, what are you still wondering about buddy? Yeah, I was wondering about that whole situation with the real estate agent And how like you can do that here. You can represent the buyer and the seller
[00:42:22] I was surprised that that was the route that they went to get out of it Yeah, and so maybe it's different there and that was sort of a question like is it different there?
[00:42:31] But then I thought of a real one which was do you think pro athletes will ever be allowed to wear ear buds When they're performing playing like a golfer could they ever I don't think so. I don't think so either
[00:42:42] But I don't know like why because you try and you can begin hints tips hints or tips I don't think that's why I think it's you have to have a line
[00:42:51] That's the same for everyone. So if somebody's earbuds go out and some don't like it's like the only the only the reason that I think that Like car racing Is more of like an event than like a sport is not because it's not because
[00:43:07] Incredibly talented and and like I could never do that job And it's it takes an incredible amount of physical endurance and physical ability But at the end of the day every NASCAR driver will tell you every car racer
[00:43:19] Professional tell you it's the car right every one at the end of the day will go We ran a good car day if your car breaks down or if something goes wrong in your car to overcome that
[00:43:28] You can't overcome that athletically to a certain extent and so I think a sport like golf you would take out anything that could change that Um, sure, which I you know, there's a debate about golf carts right now
[00:43:40] Like should you be allowed if you like haven't been able to hit but can't stand for long stretches Should be allowed to have a golf cart and like recently I believe they've allowed started to allow golf carts
[00:43:48] Which is long overdue in all honesty, but they try to regulate it as much as they possibly can Yeah, also back to the real estate thing one of mine was
[00:43:57] The real estate agent because props to her for trying to squeeze 200 grand. Well, so could that my mind is Is this a swindle? She does Like how has she been doing this going around like you go in
[00:44:12] You bring in somebody they make an offer. This is a great like this is a great scam To go in you sign a contract if I get you a offer that's over and you don't take it You gotta pay me. Well, bye golly. Great. Come on in here
[00:44:29] I'll I will but if the problem is is that most people will take the offer and then you're in trouble Then you like because if you have to do a scam where you're like
[00:44:38] Hey coming to make this offer when they accept it, then you have to pay them that much right But but you could you could be like hey Like if someone comes in and uh And it's like I'm interested in this house. Here's what I'm thinking about playing
[00:44:52] You could be like it's already got something like you could I think you should go up knowing knowing the math like hey if you make this offer even if If he says yes, I get a payday. If he says no, I get a payday. Yeah, that is
[00:45:04] I I don't know. I don't know. I think that might be illegal to do because I think all the offers have to be submitted Via your own buyer's agent and then they're I don't know. I don't know how that work
[00:45:12] I'm not a real estate agent. No, you're not with that watch. It looks like you could be though It could be there man. Uh, I have one more which is this uh, marcus rosner's character in this movie daniel is supposed to have originated in hungry born and raised
[00:45:28] Not adopted Not uh transplants not military. I thought danie wasn't done but danie but not daniel. There's a big difference Both of marcus rosner's parents are hungarian in the film Um, and they write one line that says Uh, my parents sent me to an english speaking school
[00:45:49] Who so who thought that was enough? I don't like you don't Live in hungry in budapest your whole life Go to an english speaking school with hungarian parents and sound like marcus rosner's sounds
[00:46:04] Like I have a lot of questions about that was more harder to believe than the gulf I have a lot of questions about just like why yes, why the location? I think it was a tax thing
[00:46:14] But you but couldn't couldn't you just film there and like say every other hallmark movie and say it's america Yeah, I would have done that because they don't even utilize
[00:46:23] They have to pay the hungarian actors less and they get the tax credit and then gary actors are gonna have an accent So it's about how many americans did they really bring over? They brought over ashley and marcus and the caddy
[00:46:35] And then everybody else doesn't speak or is definitely hungarian So I think that was the hold up is bringing people over is what cost the money It's a guess. It's a guess good guess or just say that he You know his parents are hungarian, but they grew up
[00:46:50] He was in the whatever he tried they traveled and his dad moved for work like something To why he sounds like he's from canada Or or the united states just something one line
[00:47:00] You know a lot of people that are from other countries that speak english and they still You know Whatever yeah, we're all doing our best. Yeah, I know I am That's your best. I haven't been doing my best. Yep. Pip. Pip
