Well, one, I didn't go to prom, but two, the pressure to- You gotta rent a full circus. You gotta have someone to prom. You gotta have a full, like it's crazy town. I have one of the many reasons I'm so happy

[00:04:20] talk about it's our is as in. No, it's not a boy called Christmas because that was live action, but it was something like that. Yes. Yes. And not as good as class. Let me talk about Mary Little Batman. Maybe we'll figure it out by the end of it. And originally dropped on prime on December 8th, 2023.

[00:05:40] And what a little something like this.

[00:05:42] The movie kicks off with the criminally underplayed father Christmas by the Kings as an animated Utility belts he's disappointed to find out that it's it's a kid one. It's not a real one It's like safe and stuff, but when Batman gets a call to go help With a Justice League situation some live Damien tries to tag along but Batman is not having it Damien is crushed into size that he is gonna use this time to train

[00:07:02] So he tricks Alfred to leave and go to the store to get some havoc. And in the process, it's Damien that indeed begins to cause the chaos, the havoc, including accidentally knocking down the town Christmas tree, then ruining the Christmas parade.

[00:08:22] He's trying to help, but what bombs. Damien is like hard pass bro, so the villain is trying to capture him. Batman then shows up. Batman sees Damien doing hero stuff, and he's like, whoa, maybe you already. And he gives Damien his utility belt together. They successfully fight off the baddies,

[00:09:40] and then they return the instruments

[00:09:43] to the marching band and the toys and the presents.

[00:09:46] And then Damien mentions that he thinks Something that's not a boy called Christmas could be What happened to our video boss baby made a Christmas special that was fun. Oh Well, we're back. We're talking about what was that Rick the boss baby. There's a Christmas boss baby He's yeah, he's full of festive. You'll tie cheer and he's to be still boss still baby, but Christmas

[00:12:03] going to come up. That's right. Yeah. I'm delighted by Mary little Batman. I think it's a hoot. I think it is. We've gotten so

[00:12:07] much grim dark Batman from, you know, DC and Warner Brothers

[00:12:12] in the last few years, mainly because of Zack Snyder, that you

[00:12:16] know, this stuff like this in the Lego Batman movie, it's like a

[00:12:19] reminder that you can have kind of a fun approach to this

[00:12:22] character. And I think this is a fun approach. I really like the

[00:12:25] character design here reminds me a lot of there's a British

[00:13:21] I think this is a lot of fun. I wish it had gotten more play.

[00:13:23] It's one of the movies that should have premiered on Max,

[00:13:26] but that the current regime at Warner Brothers was like,

[00:13:31] that's just sell it to someone else.

[00:13:33] So now it's on prime, but I hope people saw it on prime.

[00:13:36] Yeah, this one passed me by during the holiday season.

[00:13:40] I'm happy that I finally got to see it.

[00:13:41] I really enjoyed it.

[00:13:42] I agree.

[00:13:43] I thought that the animation was really cool.

[00:13:46] I thought that the kid who voiced Damien that love the lore of Batman. They named the cat Selena. There's a way to they get a low to me line, which is from Jack Nicholson and the Joker. There's all these villains they bring back through like a cattle just a cast of villains that that, you know, you get Mr. Freeze with the bad puns. You get the Joker. I think David Hornsby as the Joker. We always talk about who plays the

[00:15:03] Joker or who voices the Joker. Mark Hamill, Heath Ledger, Jack Nicholson., high jinks, great for my kids, great for me, good voices, huge fan. One of my favorite Christmas entries of 2023 for sure. Absolutely. It's time for the all the fields. We're talking about what in this movie this bat nipples get a joke yes which is just unbelievable for a lot of others uh if you catch any of those jokes when you're watching it some but not not not most um I lots of great uh feels in this but I

[00:17:42] will land on a uh this will stick with me for a long time feels which was when and he starts singing. And I thought it was hysterical. Both times I watched it, the first time I laughed and my kids were like, dad, why are you laughing? And then I was just like, guys, it's funny. I don't know what to tell you. But the second feels, and this is the greatness of this movie, I think lies in the fact that it is very sentimental and has moments, as Alonzo pointed out, without ever becoming saccharin

[00:19:01] or just completely schmaltzy.

[00:19:03] And so I'll take my all the voice of Bruce Wayne is with Damien for the whole movie. Even though Batman is MIA, this kid for the first time has to act like an adult and his dad's voice is there talking him through it.

[00:20:21] Like reminding him that he loves it. Luke Wilson, by the way, we should make it.

[00:20:23] Yes, Luke Wilson, he's phenomenal.

[00:20:24] And like, that's all I want for my kids.

[00:20:27] You know what I mean? It's time for the way. What is we're talking about what in this we just go wait what? Along so what in this sweet sweet animated Batman made you go wait what? Then and then and then no wait Yeah So okay first of all the idea that You can get Batman out of town by prank calling him and pretending to be the Justice League

[00:21:44] Yeah, I really need I need that unpack for me for sure boiled down to what the F Alfred, like what are you doing? Look, forget where does he go from, Marshmallows, which is an absolutely fair question. You left an eight year old alone in a gothic mansion by himself in the evening, in the snow.

[00:23:01] Like you would never, Alfred?

[00:23:03] And no, Alfred, not Jeremy Irons, not Michael Caine,

[00:24:08] this kid who is like survived all of this mayhem and they start walking and and Damien turns around like oh look a balloon from the Joker just keeps

[00:24:14] walking what the half Alfred what the Alfred had other things to do tonight

[00:24:19] there's just there's no way he can convince me he just went to the store

[00:24:23] dude there's just no Evan McAllister's parents are parents of the year compared as a kid and I am seeing Damien's ability to tie shoes together at the rapid rate in which he's able to do so. I'm going to be so disappointed when I try it. Like listen as a kid, all kids try this through the thing with the thing. And I would be going around just trying to do it afterwards

[00:25:41] and I'd be so disappointed.

[00:25:42] The ability in which he has to tie shoes together

[00:25:45] is like no, he is a problem. Um, I, I was very confused because at the beginning Batman tells this story about how he just, he makes Gotham crime free and you see him locking up these villains in Arkham,

[00:27:01] but you don't see Joker.

[00:27:02] And so when then you see Joker later in the movie, it dawned on me the second time I watched tired, but yeah, the idea of the jokers like I've done enough. Jokers, Jokers entrance into the Batman mythology. Anytime he comes in, he's always when it appears that Batman has cleaned up, like that's when the spotlight shines on Joker. True, true. That is not when Joker goes, well, I'm hanging it up.

Well, what I was thinking was, I remember the first time I watched this early on kind of thinking, oh, I thought I knew where the ending was gonna be. And then it kind of moved into other places.

[00:29:42] And then I like it a lot more the second time

[00:29:43] knowing going in what the whole outcome was gonna be.

[00:30:45] episodic, like just a perfect like the little guy has to protect himself and he thinks he's Batman and it's as a short film or as a weekly thing, I thought it would have worked really,

[00:30:50] really well.

[00:30:51] So I'm with you on that Batman dad with Damien.

[00:30:53] Great show.

[00:30:54] Yeah.

[00:30:55] Yeah, for sure.

[00:30:57] Mine is part of what you were inquiring about Alonso during your weight.

[00:31:02] What was they do this prank call and they're like, oh, Batman has a son. Well, they know where that got, they know now that Bruce came from. Yes, they know that Bruce Wayne is Batman, and that is a problem for everyone involved.

[00:32:21] That is, I don't care if it's for seven year olds.

[00:32:24] If you freeze, b mind, never mind. I was gonna say did the very last one, but I think there's one after it. But Christmas again, which we did a couple years ago, was was a D-com. This one technically nots by officially. But when our podcast is like taking over the world in like a couple, how many are there? A hundred, how many D-coms are there? Oh, I don't know. Like in the media. You're talking about D-com distance?
