BRAN’S MOVIE SYNOPSIS

Taylor Lewis is a single dad who moves to a new town with his 2 kids for a new gig. He’s a holiday display expert and I guess this town of Pineway really needs one of those 2 weeks before Christmas. His son, Arlo, is pumped. His daughter, Jenna, is less than thrilled. Plus, she misses her mom who is living in England now.

He heads to city hall to unload some stuff and parks in Sophie Shaw’s spot since it’ll only be a minute. Naturally, she shows up and isn’t thrilled he’s in her spot. To make matters worse, he locked the keys in his truck so she has to park 4 blocks away and is late for her meeting.

When she finally shows up, she finds out that her friend Paul, who is in charge of community engagement, is going to be leaving after the festive market and Christmas parade, which he’s bringing back this year after a hiatus. That’s actually why they brought Taylor in. Sophie decides she wants to throw her hat in the ring for that position even though they’ll probably hire someone with community engagement experience. She’s just an accountant.

Taylor gets to decorating and it’s off to a rocky start when his employee, Justin, accidentally crushes Paul’s grandpa’s letters to Santa box. I’m sure it’ll be fine.

Back at home, he begins to notice that Jenna is really struggling with all the change. The magic just isn’t there.

So the next day, he decides to put together Operation Bring Back Christmas Magic. He’ll work on the name later.

At work, Paul brings in Sophie to oversee the Festive Market decorating process so that she can tell everyone she helped plan it and hopefully land her that job she wants!

She meets his kids and Sophie and Taylor start hanging out more and he opens up about how hard the adjustment has been and she gives some advice on what it’s like to raise a teenage daughter. She advises him to try to find the fun - what a teenage girl might like.

But he may have overcorrected. Everyone shows up and is like this market sucks. Instead of cocoa, we have bubble tea. Instead of carolers, we have a DJ. And the town hates it! And Jenna isn’t a fan either. It’s just a little off.

The next day, Sophie and Taylor put their heads together and figure out a way to course correct - keep some of the stuff for the teens but bring back the traditional stuff. And make it even bigger, extending the festival to the carnival grounds. All leading up to the Mr. and Mrs. Christmas parade. Paul agrees as long as Sophie is in charge, which Taylor thinks is a great idea.

They get to work on...not the gig but just hanging out together as 2 functioning adults. And she helps him learn that he doesn’t always have to fix things.

He does not learn the lesson. Because at the opening of the festival, he brings in a big artist named Clover and has Clover call Jenna out by name and put a spotlight on her. It does not go well. She runs off and he follows.

To make matters worse - Clover sent him way over budget. Sophie isn’t thrilled. They’re gonna have to cancel the parade.

But he pitches that he and Sophie be Mr. and Mrs. Claus and do the parade anyway to surprise everyone. And it works. Jenna loves it and gives him a big hug. And Sophie gets her promotion.

Taylor finds Sophie under the mistletoe and they kiss.
