BRAN’S MUSIC CITY MISTLETOE SYNOPSIS
The movie kicks off with some country Christmas music playing on a Nashville radio station. The town is buzzing because James Robert Webb is getting ready to record a new album, and every songwriter in Nashville is chomping at the bit.
Chloe Barlow is an up-and-coming songwriter, and she's pumped that James Robert Webb has picked her song to be his first single. This is her big break!
Except... bad news.
They've changed producers, and not only is her song no longer the first single, but it's not even going to be on the album anymore.
She's devastated.
To take her mind off things, she heads to a children's hospital to sing Christmas songs for some of the patients. There she meets a young girl named Amberlee, who immediately takes a liking to Chloe and her music. Her dad, Devin, on the other hand? He thinks songs are dumb.
But when he sees how much Chloe's music means to Amberlee, he softens and tells her he hopes she'll come back and sing again sometime.
Meanwhile, the music publishing company Chloe works for is struggling and turns to Devin's company for help. When Devin and his team look at the numbers, it seems like the obvious move is to shut the company down. But Devin takes a liking to Chloe and fights to find a way to turn things around instead.
As they spend more time together, Chloe grows closer to Amberlee, helping her write a song, teaching her how to pray away stage fright, and encouraging her to perform at the Christmas talent show.
Devin eventually invites Chloe to participate in a songwriting session with his team as a team-building exercise. To everyone's surprise, they love it.
They're like, "Wait... this is awesome. Maybe this could actually be your thing."
Then, at a Christmas party, the big singer himself drops a bombshell:
"I recorded your song after all."
Chloe is on cloud nine.
And with all that excitement in the air, she and Devin finally share a kiss.

[00:00:35] We hope you like this jolly podcast Wow, hello everybody Howdy, howdy It's great to be here today There's three southern boys talking Nashville, you know what I mean? That's right, right Believe me Vandy, class of 88 That's right, Nashville proud This movie spoke to your soul, I'm sure Of course He's a Nashvigus
[00:01:02] Yeah, you know, we're still making our way through the 2025 Christmas movies And obviously we can't get to all of them Some of them aren't streaming anywhere Even though they existed And so, you know If a TV movie releases on a streamer But you can't find it Did it exist? Never play Yes If it's not on Tubi Is it real? Is it real? That's the question So, you know
[00:01:29] Sometimes we just throw a dart at a wall And we end up with Music City Mistletoe Which is exactly what happened this time Because I wanted to review a Natalie Hall Christmas movie That came out in 2025 And Google said it was streaming somewhere And then it wasn't streaming somewhere Unbelievable Lies Lies Lies So, Music City Mistletoe is what we're talking about I've never been led astray by a Google search No, never Do you guys know about udm14.com? Not even a little bit
[00:01:58] You have to stop sending me that stuff Letter U Letter D as in dog Letter M as in Mike One four dot com It takes you directly to the pre-AI Google Ooh I'm on it right now Look at this And you can search for Google before it sucked And it's super helpful It's a great search engine I'm happy to share the wealth with you What's UDM 13, you think? 14 Oh, well, you know
[00:02:27] That one blew up But 14 14 They're saying 14's got a hold Yes We believe in it Yes Alonzo You like Nashville Love it Yes It's a beautiful city I got to go last fall My nephew got married In Franklin Yep Which is just outside of town And But I got to come into the city And have dinner And, you know Show Dave You know My freshman dorm Or where it used to be Rather
[00:02:57] Most of the places I lived When I went to college Have been demolished Which, of course That should tell you That my 40th reunion Is hearkening So go figure But no It's a great town I have yet to see A Christmas movie With Nashville The title Really do it justice That's true And Streak not broken here Save it Save it Spoiler Yeah Well Did you Grow to love Country music
[00:03:26] Your time in Nashville Absolutely Yeah Yeah I think You know Because my parents Are immigrants And they Did not grow up In a country household Like my dad I mean Like Dave His dad Super into Like you know Johnny Cash And you know Kitty Wells And stuff I discovered it When I lived there And there It was It was the 80s So like There was a You know The classics Were always there And you know That Patsy Cline Biopic came out So she was Her stuff Was getting out there
[00:03:56] But you also Had like This new generation Of people like Dwight Yoakam And Foster and Lloyd And Sweethearts Of the Rodeo Who were kind of Classicists But also Modernists And it wasn't Just like The super Kind of gaudy You know The embarrassing Version Of what you wanted To think of When people Make fun of Country music Yes The satire Version of Country music That is Country music Every northerner With a type 5 At the comedy Cellar
[00:04:26] About country music Exactly A comic In a nudie suit You know That's right Yeah There was There was a whole New There was an Upcoming generation Of I mean Katie Lang Even I would put In that category So yeah I And I To this day You know Like that era Of country And every so often There are new Country folks That pop up And I go Huh Okay Yeah I dig that There we go I bet you'd pull A cowboy hat off For sure You know I've never Tried Uh oh He's never tried
[00:04:56] All right Even when I lived In Texas Never did the cowboy hat Sounds like Maybe a bramble fest That might happen I don't know Yes Give me one Party city That'll be great Yes I mean I'll let you Wear the horse hat If you'd be more I don't even want to know What that thing smells like Would pay money To see that No it's funny Actually when I My first big job Out of college Was at a paper In Dallas That no longer exists Called the Times Herald And uh One of the first reviews I had to write
[00:05:26] Was of the band Alabama Yeah Uh at Six Flags Wow Man It was not great And uh And I wrote a Not great review And the local country station Like called me And they were all mad About it Oh boy But after talking to me For about five minutes They realized that I wasn't just some guy Who hated country music That I actually did like A lot of country And I could talk to them About what I liked And what I didn't like And why I didn't think This concert was any good And by the end of it They were cool
[00:05:55] So you know I think I've defended My country bona fides Friend of the show And really all time Greatest human Sheila Calloway Yeah I'm pretty sure She has a history She's seen Alabama live Like a crazy number of times Wow I'm pretty sure That's accurate I talked to this About her at the Real World House Marathon That we did But you know what That Six Flags show And she would have Stood by Yes It's gone down in history No I'm sure There's a You know I bet you Like they're probably
[00:06:25] Great in Vegas They're probably great In an arena In a In a more intimate Setting But I mean It's hard to be good At Six Flags I've been at several State fair concerts Or Carowinds concerts Not many stand out As being excellent Yeah Yeah It's a It's a tricky place For a musician Yeah I mean there's a Rollercoaster right over there That's right In the background You hear All right Let's talk Music City Mistletoe November 25th 2025 is when it
[00:06:55] Premiered somewhere And we have it now And it went a little Something like This The movie kicks off With some country Christmas music Or Christmas Country music I guess you Would say On a Nashville Radio station And the town Is abuzz Dan Because You know him You love him James Robert Webb Is getting ready The James Robert Webb JRW Wow He is getting ready To record his new album
[00:07:23] And every songwriter In Nashville Is chomping at the bit To be a part of this Chloe Barlow She's one of those Barlow girls You get it Is an up and coming Songwriter And she is pumped That James Robert Webb Has picked One of her songs Dan To be His first Single This Is a Big break For her Except Bad news everybody They changed producers On the album And not only is her song
[00:07:53] Not going to be the first single It's not even going to be On the album anymore Wow She is very sad And so she heads to The children's hospital To sing For some Sick kits Something that she does To cheer herself up I guess And so She meets this girl Named Amberlee Amberlee Hey Amberlee Amberlee Amberlee Get on out of here Amberlee Amberlee Did you get your inhaler Amberlee Amberlee
[00:08:22] Amberlee Amberlee Amberlee Really takes a liking To Chloe And her tune And her dad On the other hand He thinks The songs are dumb And When he sees How much Chloe's music Meant to Amberlee He softens a bit And tells her Hey I hope that you'll Come back and see Again sometime The music publishing Company That Chloe Works with Is struggling And turns to Devin's company To help them They look over The numbers
[00:08:51] And it makes sense To shut them down But Devin Who takes a liking To Chloe Is going to do Everything he can To fight To keep This publishing Company alive And he starts Hanging out with Chloe Chloe starts hanging out With his daughter Helping her write a song Teaching her how to Pray the stage Right away And helping her Get the courage To go on stage And show off That new song That they wrote At the Christmas talent show You love to see it Devin ends up
[00:09:20] Bringing her in To write a song With his team As a team building Exercise And I could feel Dan Melting In fury Over this Team building exercise What I had to say Was NSFW Yeah Give Dan a ropes course Or don't waste his time That's exactly right The floor is lava And we gotta write A pop song Yeah But they like it And they think That this could be The thing That saves the company
[00:09:50] And so that's really exciting At the Christmas party Dan The big singer You know him You love it James Robert Webb JRW Comes out of nowhere Comes out of nowhere Says I've recorded your song Already recorded I love your song You wanna sing a harmony Let's sing your song And so they sing it She's on cloud nine She goes up to Devin They end up kissing And that my friends Was Music City Mistletoe
[00:10:20] We did it Yep Alright let's Let's take a break We'll come back We'll break this movie Down with four segments Here on Deck the Hallmark Hi everybody It's great to be back Here today Talking about Music City Mistletoe A 2025 Christmas movie That we missed But now we haven't We're caught up Yep Let's share our thoughts On this one We're gonna start With a hot take
[00:10:49] I'll start with you Mr. Nashville What'd you think Of Music City Mistletoe Can't wait Oh boy Between the anvils With the power of prayer Spray paint On the side of them Falling at various moments The multiple points Of conflict That never actually Caused tension Between the two Romantic leads And the fact That this movie Gives us
[00:11:18] An adorable Moppet Who mispronounces Stepmom A Moppet With health issues And a Moppet Who sings And makes them All the same Moppet Yeah There's a lot Going on here And little of it Is good It's long It's a long movie It's an hour Forty-three Whatever it is You know The good news is The credits are ten minutes
[00:11:48] So that was That was nice That came in clutch But it still feels Very long This is not An especially Christmas movie This is not An especially But there's Mistletoe brand There's Mistletoe And Jesus This is not An especially Fun movie This is not An especially Good movie Unfortunately Over there At Mistletoe I have One nice thing To say And I'll save it For the Feels Good for you Yeah Not great Not our best
[00:12:17] Not our best Not our best And it really Stings when it's long I'll just say that It really stings When it's long Dano Yeah this is a Fifty-three minute movie In a hundred and four Minute package Which is You don't get often But you get Double the movie For no extra cost To you Aside from Your dignity Your pride And integrity This is a really Bad movie Stretched For time Like someone Somewhere was like We got a vamp There is We've seen Guys
[00:12:47] We've seen The movie Where our lead Helps the child Get over their nerves And shows up And sings on stage In the finale You're If you're listening To Deck the homework You're probably Thinking of a movie That happened on homework One of many That happens in this movie At minute fifty-two I'm not That is I looked it up And I was like Well we gotta be Around in third base here We're not Because there was Exactly fifty-two minutes Left in the movie As well
[00:13:16] This movie's unbearable It It is Conflict averse It Presents you Characters that Should be bad guys And then Always pulls the rug Out from under you It is a movie That cares very deeply That you know That country music Is tied to Nashville Which is tied Also to prayer And god And everything Always works out The way it should This kid Is unbearable She's super sweet I'm not saying Anything bad About the actor I'm not The kid's fault Let's be clear The character
[00:13:45] Is unbearable They are They are just I swear to you At fifty-two minutes In this movie It should have been A kiss And roll credits At fifty-two minutes Sing the song Kiss Roll credits I just Couldn't believe What I was watching I am all for you Watching movies As they were meant To be watched By the filmmaker At regular speed If you watch this For us It would have been A shame If you didn't Click one point five Or two x
[00:14:16] It's a bad movie It's a really bad movie And there's money Behind it I think that's The thing is Is that It's not a bad movie In the way That it like Looks bad I think The actors Are all capable And it looks good It just sucks It's just really bad So that's kind of worse This is like If a company That normally makes Like shoes Or shipping crates Was like Let's get into that Christmas movie That's right That seems to be lucrative Yeah It's exactly right Well
[00:14:45] Let's go to the feels Shall we Let's get to the feels We're gonna get to the feels It's time for it Alonzo what gave you feels I disagree with Daniel That there is They pull the rug out From there being villains There's a villain In this movie Who's a doozy But she gets Completely like She just turns out She's just like Feels like she doesn't belong And like They all treat her They don't ever like They don't ever be like She never gets exposed For being a villain Sure No She never gets pushed Into the mud And
[00:15:13] Every time that She does something evil That you think Is gonna then reflect That you think The female lead Is gonna blame on the guy That's right They never go there That's what I was trying to say You said it better They defang all of that stuff Correct Defanged There it is That does not take away From her being A stone cold monster Yeah The way that she is Trying to like You know Stir stuff up The way that she is Trying to Divert his attentions My favorite is when
[00:15:42] He sets up The songwriting Team building exercise With her And she calls And says Oh well he said You were gonna get us Like a hit songwriter Oh my gosh Oh my gosh Oh my goodness Twist the knife some more It was so Wonderfully mean And that is a thing I miss in Hallmark movies Is that the meanies Are never mean And this woman was At least for a while And so I enjoyed that Um yes Amber Lee Is Amber Lee Not
[00:16:11] A great character Correct I do think That this little actor Did a good job With this character And she Gave a wonderful Performance of A not very good song But the The The Talent show Her singing Little dance That she did Getting nervous I thought she was Really great in that And you know what In a movie where There's not a lot of great She stood out Even with like Not being a great character
[00:16:40] I thought that this little girl Did a wonderful job And I wanted to shout her out Dano Good for you Brian Thank you Really good Um there's a scene Where there's a She's working with an older dude Who writes Like she writes music with And it's a scene That none of us needed Or asked for But they write a country song Where it's like I don't know if I've ever Been in love before But whatever this is It's the best I've never been And I Oh that's good And I actually I actually was like That would be a good country song It was a good idea And that guy
[00:17:10] So like huge I was like Hold on I was watching the scene Going we don't We don't need this But I would listen To that song Yeah Does it exist somewhere No Surely they didn't just Throw that one Into the wind Yeah Considering what the last one is And the one the girl sings is The one that was really That I was very interested in Gets one scene And never heard from again Yeah And that was wild Because it wasn't about Christmas Of course neither is the finale song Neither is the finale song I did love that guy going nuts When she said Yeah He was like Oh Oh that's a good one
[00:17:39] That's a good one Hey Hey Yeah A great idea For a country song And then he's like She says it And we're all like We get it But then he feels the need to It's kind of like Yeah he feels the need to extrapolate On what he's heard To really expound on that idea Let me give you my take On what you just said Yeah that's right It's kind of like how you You think you're in love But you don't know You don't know You don't want to rush it You don't want to rush it Yeah But it might be love Because you really like them Yeah Kind of like that It's kind of like that What you just said Yeah But different
[00:18:10] Stupid With more words More words Okay let's take a break We'll come back We'll get to the way We had the weather Homework here on Deck the Hallmark Hey everybody Welcome back To Nashville I would say this It's definitely not A Nashville party No I guess I didn't get the memo I guess I didn't get the memo Let's get to the way That's Miley Cyrus Alonzo
[00:18:39] Yes It's a party in the USA It's no Joni Mitchell But it'll do Not true Absolutely Let's get to the Wait what Alec Moppa does a great impersonation Of Betty Davis doing Party in the USA If you ever Like track it out If it's on YouTube It's really Check that out Party in the USA Okay Let's do wait what There's a few Alonzo There's a good point to go around So okay You know how you guys Do a podcast about Hallmark movies And then like Sometimes I come on it
[00:19:08] And now I do this every Friday And we talk about Recent Christmas movies And y'all are best friends Who live in Greenville And I'm a film critic Who lives in Los Angeles And we've known each other For eight years now That is every conversation Between the lead And her roommate 100% 100% They are constantly Reminding each other Of who they are And what they've been through And what they both know In the most awkward way possible And it made me insane I always think that All that dialogue Should just be the word plot Like plot plot plot Plot plot plot plot plot Plot plot plot plot Plot plot plot plot Like it's very much
[00:19:37] Just like In case you're just Joining us mid movie You need to know You know They should just literally Have their coffee mugs And just turn to the camera And go Here's what you need to know Yeah exactly But it's not even like That Netflix thing Of like we have to tell you Every ten minutes What the movie is about It's literally just Information about Their pasts That they would both know Yeah You know You've got all these people In the movie That she's meeting For the first time Talk to them about her past 100% To make matters worse I don't care about
[00:20:07] Her best friend Well there's that That is the bonus There's that Yeah Then there's Okay I need to I need to spend some time With Miss Dottie here Dottie She is the lady At the beginning of the movie Who gives her encouragement And gives her The mistletoe pin That I guess is what The title of the movie Comes from And then at the end We find out That the very big music star Tell me the name again Oh you're Talking about J.W.R. James Robert Webb
[00:20:36] James Robert Webb Yes of course We all know And we all love him Then you know He announces that Well you know That was his meemaw And it was so great That she spent time with her And I'm like You're Mr. Rich Country Guy You have this lady In a like Regular old hospital And you're not visiting her And your other family members Aren't visiting her And you have to rely On this stranger With a guitar To keep this woman happy Like That just raised Far more questions Than we were
[00:21:06] We were ready for There The Yeah The There is a way To talk about Religion And God And faith In these movies 100% Yeah But boy Howdy Does this movie Not have any idea How to do that Without just like Just dropping A holy hand grenade On you It is It I I felt like Ants were crawling All over me It was It was so Just
[00:21:35] Ham-fistedly done I'm not averse To discussions Of faith In cinema But man You really gotta Hone your pitch Well that's the feeling Of your sin Getting the best of you These people are praying To American white Jesus They are Like They are 100 Like this is a The The language And And the You know What they're saying And how they're saying And the asides They take to say it Are such a Americanized
[00:22:04] It's God The troops And You know It's this weird Like It is not I would even call it Faith based I would call it Cult based Like it's a weird Thing that they're doing That is so off-putting It's a product placement You gotta fill 104 minutes Though you know what I mean And okay So then I did kind of love The idea that Alright so So Mean girl Tells her Oh well you know He and his wife Weren't getting along You know when she died In that accident And you think
[00:22:34] Oh she's just you know Trying to stir the pot And making stuff up No no no Later we get a scene Where the husband is like Yeah no we weren't Getting along In fact we were fighting When she had the car This is one of the Weirdest things in the movie In a movie I've ever seen That we've watched Ever I also wrote this down Yes And it's like okay In these movies I'm used to the idea Of like dead relative Is a saint That's right And just made Christmas special And everyone loved her And you know Let no aspersions be made No no no In this one
[00:23:03] The dead person sucks Yeah yeah They went so hard On this dead mom It's crazy Dead mom didn't even Want to be a mom anymore Didn't even want to be a mom Like brutal This poor woman Can't defend herself Here's why I think They did it And I think this is Even more nefarious The dad is like I stopped believing in God When I thought What kind of God Would take away A little girl's mother And I think What the movie is saying Is Oh no Here's what God's plan was To get rid of that Wife you hated
[00:23:33] That's right And bring this new Blonde chick Who loves Jesus And country music And the troops Into your life That was his plan All along That is 100% What this movie is saying And I hate it Thanks I hate it Wow I mean at one point He kind of He kind of goes We had an argument When she got in the car accident And you know Thank God she's dead Basically He basically is like When she first brings her up She's like I'm sorry That she's gone Or whatever And he's like Yeah
[00:24:02] It's tough Well Not really Not really He's like It's been hard Well actually It's been way easier We celebrate Every day around here You all might think That I'm kidding He says It's been really hard Well actually Not really That's right Crazy thing to say About your dead wife Yes And this is why In no other Christmas movie We've ever watched For this show Has ever said a bad thing About a dead
[00:24:31] Dead spouse Yeah Nikki Deloach Would never When he said We were having an argument When she got in the crash I was like He's gonna talk about All his regrets And his guilt No he's like Man if it led to her crashing Well You know I wish I went I wish I went harder Yeah I wish I yelled at her Could've done that sooner Crazy Crazy And then just ultimately Like I didn't I didn't get the whole thing Of why close down this office Because like You know
[00:24:59] They at least are realistic About like You can You know You can trim this fat We don't need Blah blah blah But you know They are still Generating income They are still Part of this Company that does Music publishing So you would want A Nashville office And I kind of Wish that when You know Big Country Star Comes in at the end To save the day That after they Discover that You know She's gonna be Making all this Money off of the song She'll be like Hey can I have That conference room Back Yeah No kidding I don't know
[00:25:28] Who the lady is That tells her That she doesn't Have the Like he's not Doing the song She's her agent Her agent That's what I assumed She's the worst agent You Do you know How hard it is To go from Hey it's gonna be His lead single To not even being On the album Anymore That's crazy This agent should be Fired To go from That
[00:26:03] Good fit For the The Single But of course We'll still put On the album To strip it away All together Is insane It's crazy This agent Sucks They changed Producers Which would have To be that They went from Like a country Producer To To borrow One of the One of the Prompts for the Songwriting Team building Exercise EDM Right I really would Have loved For them to Write an EDM Song In that Team building It's like Is James Robert Webb Post Malone Like did
[00:26:33] Somebody Write Post Malone's New hip hop Song And then The agent Go actually We're doing A country Album next So it doesn't Fit anymore That's the only Thing that would Make sense Because as long As James Robert Webb Is still making A country album Which based off Of what he sings At the end Is going to do That I don't know How he got Away with this Crazy Crazy move I did love The lady Who is James Robert Webb's Meemaw Saying
[00:27:02] You've got To get Back on That horse As they Say So great That's Yeah I don't Know You didn't Have to Add that We know We know It's just To say We know It There's no Actual Horse Here Meemaw We do Recognize Metaphor And I know I talked Very highly Of Amber Lee The actor But it Is interesting To get Through first Verse And chorus And then Get scared That was A weird One She was Singing And she Was crushing And all of a Sudden scared I've not seen That one Before Usually
[00:27:32] You get Get over That At worst You do Verse 3 And then you End with Verse 2 Right Right Dano This songwriting Team building Activity belongs In the ninth Concentric Circle of Hell I Guys I love I love the Idea of Songwriting For people That love Songwriting This is Not She's Not doing A team Building With a Music Studio That Writes Songs She's Doing a Songwriting Team building Exercise
[00:28:01] With folks That don't Do that They don't Do that Like I hate Thank you I hate It Like I guess Give me A trust fall Instead Of what They're Doing There It's Going to Be a Horse Built by Committee As they Say Yeah You know How the Best songs And movies Are written By 10 To 12 People You know I think You know That Alonzo Consistently When you See 8 to 10 Riders On there You know That you're Going to Get the Best That we Have I will
[00:28:31] Say It Actually Is Pretty Normal Now A lot Of Artists Do Things Called Writing Camps Correct And It's The Music What Are They Doing I Like Imagine If We Here Decided To Do Team Building And We Brought In An MMA Fighter
[00:29:05] I Being In The Business Of Big Business And I Got Sat Down For Our Annual Team Building And I You Know Passed The Cheetos And Then I Hear We're Writing A Song Together I Would Just Stand Up And Walk Out That's The End of Me That's That's That's A wrap On Dan Everybody We Got We Got a Team Player God Almighty Not In That Case No No No I Be Built The Woman That Runs That Business Has Is On The
[00:29:35] Phone In The Scene And Gives The Most Convincing OKT Time Tomorrow Delivery I've Ever Seen In My Life First Of I Don't Think You Say OKT Time Tomorrow Ever But She Says It As Someone That Never Has Been Near A Golf Ball And It's Really Funny There Are At the End Of This Movie This Big Time Country Singer Brings Her Up On Stage To Sing The Song That Has Not Been Released Yet And People In The Crowd Already Know The Words Well But It
[00:30:22] The Bigger Bigger We Get See Because This Movie Has 104 Minutes And Nowhere To Be In All Day To Get There We See A Shot Of Him Riding Small Space For Boxes We Don't Need It We Trust Your Riding As They Say Dan As They Say Get Back On The Horse There There's not a real horse. And then lastly, after the talent show outside in the – is that a school that they're in?
[00:30:52] Yeah, I think so. I think so, yeah. This could easily be a What the Hallmark, but I have to talk about this now because I've tried to not laugh the whole episode. Oh, oh, oh. We see – do you need to interrupt me? No, no, no, no, no. I think I know what you're going to say. We see a little booth that some people are there representing an organization that is cultivating tomorrow's expertise, which I guess is giving kids a professional opportunity. And they clearly want you to know that their acronym is CTE. I miss that.
[00:31:22] And I'm like – like it's not – like it's so clearly big C, big T, big E. And I was like, this is a kids group for CTE? What are we – We're pro-its. No script supervisor ever was like, hey, do you know about CTE? Do you know maybe that you shouldn't do that?
[00:31:47] What I thought you were going to mention was when dad sends his daughter off to the friends to go have ice cream so that he can take the lead on the tour of Christmas lights in broad daylight. Of course, yeah. There's that. We didn't even mention that. The two ice cream girls are staring at the camera. Yeah. Right at it. Waiting for the other girl to come join them. Yeah. No, no, no. That was bad too. But apparently there's some schools out there that are pushing CTE. Yeah, maybe they got it. Who knows? Got to get back on. Not enough kids. Yeah.
[00:32:16] They want to go back to leather helmet football day. That's right. It's time for what the homework is for. We wonder what could have been maybe having some clarity questions. What are we still wondering about? I'll start with you, Alonzo. Well, in another scene that was completely extraneous and reflective of the whole like let's dump exposition on each other, best friends thing. The nurse roommate has this whole conversation with her about how her ex popped up and she still has feelings for him and wanted to see him again.
[00:32:46] Do we ever hear about that again? You're right. I would like a justice for roommate nurse. Like what's up with her love life? Don't, don't, don't give me. So crazy. Check off the gun there and then not go anywhere with it. They were literally like, I should, if I want to be happy, I should be happy. They're like, yeah. And then you don't, you're right. It just, in 104 minutes, we didn't have the time. We didn't have the time. We got to watch this guy ride on a steno pad. We don't have time for that. We don't get. Small space for, how do you spell boxes? Boxes.
[00:33:16] CTE. Next. I, uh, he might have it. He might. I, uh. Kids are pushing it hard these days. You gotta get, you gotta get it started early. I, uh, I, I, we didn't get to see much of the talent show aside from Amberlee. Nope. Um, thank God. But as they're walking out, you know, this is a classic, uh, I'm going to hand you money now situation. I'm going to give you some money. This, this wasn't in the script.
[00:33:43] This is how she decided I'm going to, we're going to walk out and maybe be talking about the talent show. But here's what she says. I just can't believe when she came out with nothing, but then pretended like nothing happened. This is a magician. Is it what? What? What talent is she talking about? She came out with nothing, but then pretended like nothing happened. Uh, I think there's a magician in there and I'd like to see a kid magician at the Christmas talent show. Yeah, that would be great. Would love it.
[00:34:12] Speaking of the talent show, when, when the kid is being nervous about getting on stage, part of why she's nervous is she goes, they're so talented. The they she is referring to are four girls who were kind of half-heartedly dancing around a circle and lip syncing to another, to a prerecorded track, but they are blowing her off the stage and she could never follow that act. Very kind words to say that they're talented. Yes. Uh, Dana. Yeah. I would love to know the emergency room in Nashville that has this much room and no one in it.
[00:34:39] I know we've all seen the, we've all seen the pit and every emergency room isn't like that, but this emergency room, people in Nashville are just super healthy. I guess I, I want to know what, how we're supposed to believe this is being passed off as an emergency room. There's no one in there. Um, does Amberlee just have asthma? I believe so, but I early on leaving her inhaler. Well, I didn't, but I didn't believe this dad at the beginning of the movie is angry that his daughter cannot be discharged.
[00:35:07] And it's like, sir, she's not breathing properly. And he's like, I've got a five o'clock and you're like, this is the good parent. Yeah. Yeah. But he's a romantic lead. That's right. I believe that. And then I believe that, that she just has asthma. But I do, I, I, you tell us, he might've killed his wife. That's right. You tell a singer, Hey, go down to the hospital and sing for some sick kids. And you'll be like, well, like what, what kind of sickness are we talking about? This is like the children's ward and oncology.
[00:35:37] These are the real, these are the real sick kids, right? No. The asthma. And the one, and the one memo. But what's weird is, is that at the beginning, I'm like, this is the worst dad. And then I see this girl breathing fine and I'm on team dad. Why hasn't she been discharged? She's breathing fine. There's no one. I've got a five o'clock. That's right. He's got a five o'clock. There's not a machine anywhere near her. In my synopsis, I wrote children's hospital. Cause I assumed that it was worse.
[00:36:06] If they have someone coming in to sing for the kids. I'll be honest with you. I'll be honest. I am team dad coming in. My kid has asthma and there's someone in there singing. We got to get going. Yeah. Pick up the pace. Let's speed this along. One verse, one chorus, and then we're out of here. That's right. Absolutely. We did it, everybody. Congratulations to us. Oh, no, I just said I get nervous after then, after one verse and one chorus. Anyway, I was doing a bit. Oh, yes, yes, yes. We did it, everybody. Congratulations to us. We're back next week with another one.
