[00:00:03] is a Bramble Jam Podcast. Hi, I'm Bran. I love Totally Necessary Preview Shows. I'm Brian. I like Totally Necessary Preview Shows. I'm Dan. Give me three zeros and a cream. Merry Christmas. This is the Deck The Hallmark. Deck The Hallmark gets this podcast. It's only two? God almighty. It's a mini-sode?
[00:00:31] We hope you like this jolly podcast. Listen, not every episode needs to be 30 minutes. People like a 10-minute episode that could have been an email. People just like hanging out with us. That's exactly right. It's almost newsletter season, folks. Yeah, get on that. For a lot of the year, we don't have a newsletter. We don't do anything with it. That's about to change. That's about to change. When is this? It's only September.
[00:01:01] What day is this coming out? It's October. Currently? Yeah, we're getting ahead of it. So Kringles. I guess. Yeah. Heck yeah. Look at them all. Dude, you can get your Seen Daniels Kringles. You can have that promo code. That's exactly right. That's exactly right. You can do all that right now. Yeah. We'll fix it in post. Yeah. Yeah. This is a preview show. Very excited about this. Woo! Yeah! Two movies. One month. We all care. It's time, baby. Yeah. Preview.
[00:01:31] This is an exciting time of year. How crazy is it? We're only two away. Wait for it. It is still September. Wait for it. September 30th. Okay. So Kringle nothing. Kringle tomorrow. Never heard of it. Stay tuned tomorrow for Kringle. Yeah. Stay tuned tomorrow for Kringle. That's why we're not here. Which will be the, it's the, tomorrow, it's a double preview show week. Tomorrow, come on back. It is Christmas preview show number one. So come on. Heck yeah. Number one. Could we have lumped these two into that one? No. That would be stupid. That's exactly right.
[00:01:59] Or lump it into the September one. Dumb. No. Dumb. We got two movies. Should we rank them out of pointless podcast episodes? No. Two movies left and then it's all Christmas all the time. Should we just cream them both? Whatever. No. One cream. Cream them both. Use it wisely. Okay. 50-50 creamertunity. All right. Okay. That was really good. Creamertunity. It's a creamertunity? Creamertunity. I hate that. Because it's an opportunity to cream. I understand.
[00:02:33] Should we just get going with it? Yeah. Yeah, man. We got a lot to get to. Let's go ahead. Thank you. Up first, coming out this Saturday, October 3rd, A Night to Remember is the name of the movie. It is starring Julie Gonzalo. Oh, yeah. Do you need some time, Brian? I was prepared. And James Trevina. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah.
[00:03:03] Getting hot. Are you ready to hear about it? What are we ranking them out of? Oh, um... Ghosts? Ghouls? I like goblins. Ghosts? We're going full ghost here. Full ghost. Ghost mode. A statue of an English knight arrives in a Chicago... Nope. A statue for an... Wow. You want to go from the top? A statue for an English knight arrives in Chicago for an art exhibit.
[00:03:33] While cleaning the statue, museum conservator... Many call it a museum. A lot of cows especially call it museums. What do you call it? What do you call... When a cow sees them... Museums. I have a museum. While cleaning the statue, museum conservator Emily impulsively kisses the statue. She kitchens it. She kitchens it all up. She kisses the statue. Bring it into life. Wake me up.
[00:04:02] Wake me up inside. That's the movie. A Night to Remember. Julie Gonzalo kisses a statue? Yeah. As it comes to life. Brings it to life. I... This is fun. This is wacky. This is zany. Yeah. Is it cream worthy? Let's find out. Bright guy? I got a little... Oh, yeah. Fish out of water. I got a little back... Statue out of clay. Of cement. I got a little backstory on this one. It's got backstory, folks. You have backstory on the museum. We call it Back to Remember. Back to Remember. Back to Remember. Back to Remember.
[00:04:32] Back to Remember. Back to Remember. Oh, yeah. It's better than that. No. This is based on a book. A book called Her Night at the Museum by Bryn... One Bryn Donovan. Bryn Donovan. Shout out Bryn. Shout out Bryn. Who, if you remember, which I know you guys do from our first book. Of course. She was our developmental editor on our first book. Shout out Bryn Donovan. Oh, Christmas tree. That's right. And so she wrote this book. Heavy on the com. She... Now it's going to be a movie. And I... Cards on the table. I've been listening to the audio book. I've been listening to the audio book. Cards on the table.
[00:05:01] Cards on the table. How are you feeling about it? It's spicy. I'll tell you that right now. Spicy. It's a little spicy, which I think Hallmark's going to have to tone it down a little bit. But this story, even if I wasn't listening to the audio book, I would still give this Four Ghosts and My Cream. You're creaming it. Four Ghosts and My Cream. Yeah. Four Ghosts and My Cream. The fish out of water aspect, I think, is always a fun time. This reminds me so much of that... What was the statue that came to life? The clay movie. Yeah. Made for each other. Made for each other.
[00:05:31] And that was so funny. That movie was great. I'm still riding that wave from Made for Each Other. So I'm really hoping that the funny comes through on this one and looking forward to it. Yeah. This is a really fun idea. Holly in the chat said the first book had an editor? Developmental editor. After that, everything's... That's funny. Nothing counts. That's funny. This is a very fun idea. I love it. You know I love fish out of water. I'm intrigued by this one. I don't know why she would kiss a statue. Yeah.
[00:06:00] A little bit. You know, that's not... I'm lonely. How does she get it? Yeah. Where are you at? Find it. I'm lonely. There it is. She is. She's got to be, right? I don't know. That's kind of sad, kissing statues. But I'm here for it. Somebody's got to do it. I'm going five. It's sad to kiss statues. I'm going five. Now, I haven't looked ahead. So what I got to think about is, you know... Do you blow your cream right now?
[00:06:29] I feel like I remember murmurs of an actual Halloween movie. Y'all remember that? How about this? If you cream this one, I'll save mine and cream the next one. What does that do for me? I don't know. I'm just saying. So does that mean if I don't, you'll cream this one? No. If you cream this one, all three of us would have creamed the first one. The second one would be creamless. But are you going to cream this one if I don't? No, we'll see what happens. I'm going to hold my cream. Yeah, yeah. He's going to hold his cream. And then leave it to Dan.
[00:06:56] Yeah, so I have to cream this movie because there's only two and life is meaningless. This movie has a statue come to life in it. We've only seen this one other time, and it's one of the better non-Christmas Hallmark movies that have ever been made. So on that spirit alone, I will give it two ghosts and a cream. Very good. Very good. So glad we did this. Absolutely. Let's take a break. We'll come back to another movie here on Deck the Home.
[00:07:27] You should be ashamed of yourself. A break. I think podcasts called. They canceled us. It's a podcast universe. Podcast City called. They just canceled us. You know what? What we just did is actually really in right now. Oh. You do like a short one or two minute. Like, here's the thing. We didn't do that. Kind of like that. We got one more movie left. Yeah. One more movie left. Museum.
[00:07:58] The Spirits of Halloween. Oh, you were right. I was right. Spirit Halloween. The store's making a move. Oh, no. Sponsored by? I wish. Gosh, I love the Spirit Halloween. They used to, last year they had one down there on Lauren's. I don't see it. It's not there this year. Oh, yeah? Yeah, it's not there. I mean, that space is still open. I know. It's got to be somewhere. It's got to be. Close, yeah. We're around. I love the Spirit Halloween. Yeah. This one is Saturday, October 10th. It is starring Megan Ori and Kevin McGarry. Oh, yeah. K-Mac.
[00:08:28] That's cool. All right, here we go. Everly Stone is very firmly anti-Halloween. Stop it. That is until she is visited by three friendly yet spooky spirits who help her rediscover her true self and see what she's been missing all along. We got a Christmas Carol adaptation for Halloween. Interesting.
[00:08:56] I don't think I've ever seen that before. I like that, Brian. Yeah. Yeah, that sounds fun. I kind of like the fewer movies, but really, hopefully they're just dousing them in Halloween and fall. It's a douse. It is a douse. For these two movies, if we're not full doused. Yeah. I mean, Chicago. Yeah, we should be full doused. Should be full. Full doused. I'm going to go four again on this one. Okay. I'm going to stake it at four. I feel like this is a nice round number. Strong couple of weeks. Lead right into the holiday season pretty nicely.
[00:09:26] I'm intrigued by this one. And I will say, I think that the first one sounds better to me. And so for that reason, I'm going to go four, but I will use my cream, which makes it sick. Which makes it sick, as we all know. Yes, of course. Those are the rules. But this is a fun idea. I'm reading this right. Yeah, it's a Halloween Christmas Carol adaptation, basically. Hard to say. There are words. She's anti-Halloween, visited by three ghosts to help her rediscover her true self and see what she's been missing all along. That's a Christmas Carol. Lachlan Cornby is a spirit.
[00:09:56] Oh, boy. Oh, boy. Five. Yep. Thoughts, Phil. Five? Is that allowed? Are you allowed to change the ranking? How about a ghost one? One of them's a ghost. That's fine. Four ghosts. They're all ghosts, Brian. That's what we're ranking them out of, you dummy. I know, but this one's more like a spirit. Four ghosts and one ghost, which makes five ghosts. Who are the other ghosts? Who are the other ghosts? Do we know? What are we doing? The other ghosts of the movie? I don't know. I'll see if I can find it. I got it. What's the name of the movie? The Spirit of Halloween.
[00:10:25] Spirit of Halloween. Halloween story. Is it like the ghost of Halloween's past? Like future and present? The Spirit of Halloween. Who we got? Who we got? We've got Eberle. Yep. Yeah. Ryan J. Prashad is Marty. For those who's here. Who's Marty? That's right. Marty. We've got Matthew Thomas Rogers and no one else. I don't even see Lachlan Cornby. I got Lachlan Cornby's name from Sheila Calloway. I mean, I trust her with my boats.
[00:10:55] Absolutely. Yeah. The only people I know are in the movie are Leo, Marty, Everly, and Bo. Okay. Is Kevin McGarry on there? Yeah. McGarry's Bo. He's Bo. B-E-A-U. Of course. Bo. Bo. Yeah. Bo. All right. Bo. Bo Heron. Bo Heron. Bo Heron. Two big swings here for Hall of the Arts in October. That's what October's for. 100%. October is for the swingers. Yeah. It's getting hot and heavy. Yeah. Yeah. I don't know. A lot's been said.
[00:11:25] I will say this movie has more chance of going wrong than the movie where a woman kisses a statue and it comes to life, in my opinion. Higher degree of difficulty. Obviously, Kevin McGarry's already set up to do a Boston accent in a Christmas movie here in a few weeks. I don't know. One. We'll go one ghost here. Only one? One ghost. Wow. I have my reasons. I'll live into that.
[00:11:56] Really quick. Can you tell the people what happened? Just now recap it, Brian. I just dropped my phone. You dropped his phone. No, no, no. He gave it four ghosts and then added one ghost. For all the movies. Oh, yeah. Absolutely. So, A Night to Remember. Yeah. First movie. Brian, you gave it five ghosts. Strong ghosts. Dan gave this. You know what's funny? I don't have his number. I believe it was two ghosts. Two and cream. I just have ghosts. I just wrote ghosts. So, we gave him two and he creamed it, which means-
[00:12:25] I had to cream one of two movies, Brian. That means, what's that? Four. And then I gave it- That is not- No, no. That's not how my creams are just pimped. Four. I'm sorry. Four. No, no. That's how Brian chooses. No, I gave it four ghosts and a cream. Okay. You gave it two ghosts and one cream, which- And then the Spirit of Halloween store movie. Brand, five and a cream. You bumped it up. You made it just a little wire. If Cormie's not in there, though, if Sheila led me astray- We can hold it against her. Yeah. Dan, you gave it one. I gave it four ghosts. All right. High of course.
[00:12:55] Of those two movies, which are we more excited about? Right. That's what I'm wondering. That's what I'm kind of wondering. What do you think Halmark has up its sleeve for the first two weeks of October? Well, we did it, everybody. Congratulations to us. Come on back tomorrow for our first Christmas preview show. Woo! First of three. What better way to kick off October than by looking ahead at some of them Christmas movies. So come on back for that. Until then, maybe the first to wish you a- Merry Christmas!
[00:13:41] Bramble Jam Plus! Thanks for listening. Or don't listen. It's really up to you at this point. It's at the end of the show. I mean, you're listening to me. Hi. But here they come. I promise they're coming. Yep. Here they are. Happy day.
