[00:00:00] Hi, I'm Brandon. I love Hallmark mystery movies.
[00:00:06] I'm Brian. I like Hallmark mystery movies.
[00:00:09] I'm Dan and I despise Hallmark mystery movies.
[00:00:12] And this is the Deck The Hallmark Podcast.
[00:00:15] Deck The Hallmark gets his podcast.
[00:00:18] Vala-a-a-a.
[00:00:20] Brandon and Friends host his podcast.
[00:00:23] Vala-a-a-a.
[00:00:25] We hope you like this jolly podcast.
[00:00:28] Vala-a-a-a-a.
[00:00:30] Vala-a-a-a-a.
[00:00:32] Well, hello everybody.
[00:00:34] It's great to be here today.
[00:00:37] Thursday.
[00:00:39] It's short. Thursday.
[00:00:40] The week is almost already over.
[00:00:42] I just want to remind people, in case you aren't aware,
[00:00:45] every Friday, Dan, you, me, Aaron,
[00:00:48] we've been doing a little D-Com descendants podcast.
[00:00:51] We'd love for you to come on.
[00:00:53] I think it's a really good time.
[00:00:55] Maybe a little bit spicier.
[00:00:57] A little bit spicy.
[00:00:59] Most of the Bramble Jam feed.
[00:01:01] And I will say this, it is catching on.
[00:01:03] The numbers are great.
[00:01:05] It's catching on.
[00:01:07] That's shocking.
[00:01:09] Good for you guys.
[00:01:11] The ratings and reviews have been wonderful.
[00:01:13] They've been so kind.
[00:01:15] Please go check it out.
[00:01:17] I think everybody, even if you don't like the life,
[00:01:19] maybe you haven't seen the movies,
[00:01:21] maybe now's the time.
[00:01:23] They're all out there.
[00:01:25] Luckily on the saver side, Dan, is yo...
[00:01:27] Actually, Aaron said she would do a podcast on the network,
[00:01:30] but it would have to be a little bit more PG for two.
[00:01:32] That's what she said.
[00:01:34] We were like, we're a PG podcast network.
[00:01:36] And she was like, guys, that's not how I roll.
[00:01:38] She said guys, that's not how I roll,
[00:01:40] but I cleaned it up.
[00:01:42] Thank you for doing that.
[00:01:44] Language has just gone since she's been hired.
[00:01:46] The language here.
[00:01:48] And also don't forget everybody,
[00:01:50] you'll get those back.
[00:01:52] I'll just say that.
[00:01:54] I'm not sure if you've seen the episodes,
[00:01:56] but I think we're going to have a lot of episodes.
[00:01:58] She's trying to find a better way to say that.
[00:02:00] She's really real funny.
[00:02:02] We have been slowly releasing those episodes
[00:02:04] that were behind the old
[00:02:06] Brainville Jam Plus paywall for the past couple years.
[00:02:08] At this rate, we will catch up
[00:02:10] in 20, 28.
[00:02:12] But this is where the genus should be at, right?
[00:02:14] So, just a couple of...
[00:02:16] If getting stuff five days a week
[00:02:18] isn't enough for you,
[00:02:20] you're going to have a lot of fun.
[00:02:22] You're going to get a lot of money
[00:02:24] from a lot of people.
[00:02:26] And I think it's going to be a good day,
[00:02:28] and then there's so much.
[00:02:30] There's even more if you join
[00:02:32] BrainvilleJamPlus.com.
[00:02:34] That's right.
[00:02:36] There's just no way you could possibly need
[00:02:38] more of hearing us.
[00:02:40] There's just no way.
[00:02:42] And if you like...
[00:02:44] Take the day off back in August.
[00:02:46] I forgot about that.
[00:02:48] I'm going to be doing a little bit of
[00:02:50] some different things that you can find on Filo.
[00:02:52] It's really fun.
[00:02:54] I got to be honest with you,
[00:02:56] hearing all of it, I'm sick of myself.
[00:02:58] So it says, tough.
[00:03:00] A little bit annoyed by...
[00:03:02] Falling for basketball.
[00:03:04] Playoffs are coming up.
[00:03:06] I did mention.
[00:03:08] I did a tie to this.
[00:03:10] He said it was on Tuesday, it was on Wednesday.
[00:03:12] That's what the chat is about.
[00:03:14] Oh, that's true. I record on Tuesdays, Boiler Alert.
[00:03:16] Every time you say a day, how many days it is
[00:03:18] for before Christmas you're lying?
[00:03:20] It's fake. It's unbelievable.
[00:03:22] Planning ahead.
[00:03:24] I thought you'd go to the North Pole.
[00:03:26] We do go to the Christmas morning.
[00:03:28] We do go to the North Pole.
[00:03:30] It just happens to me on Tuesday.
[00:03:32] In the North Pole, it's a day earlier.
[00:03:34] The time change.
[00:03:36] No, we... it is for us.
[00:03:38] Guys, you wouldn't get it.
[00:03:40] This is why I think it's important to all stick.
[00:03:42] This is why it's important for us
[00:03:44] to stick to one time zone.
[00:03:46] If we just did that,
[00:03:48] that whole thing wouldn't have happened.
[00:03:50] I guess it's on God at this point.
[00:03:52] Let's talk Hannah Swinson, shall we?
[00:03:54] Please.
[00:03:56] One bad apple.
[00:03:58] One bad apple.
[00:04:00] Friday night
[00:04:02] release everybody.
[00:04:04] April the 5th.
[00:04:06] Yep, April the 5th.
[00:04:08] And it went a little something like this.
[00:04:10] The movie kicks off with
[00:04:12] Hannah Swinson
[00:04:14] unloading some groceries
[00:04:16] as someone is taking
[00:04:18] some pictures of her from across the street.
[00:04:20] She picks up one of the apples
[00:04:22] and notices that one of the apples
[00:04:24] has been stabbed with a knife.
[00:04:26] No matter though,
[00:04:28] because she has candy apples to bake.
[00:04:30] Cut to Hannah teaching
[00:04:32] a class on making
[00:04:34] apple turnovers.
[00:04:36] How's that grabbing, Brad?
[00:04:38] That's it.
[00:04:40] It's delicious.
[00:04:42] As she's teaching the class,
[00:04:44] she notices somebody
[00:04:46] out in the woods taking pictures of her
[00:04:48] through the window.
[00:04:50] She realizes that it's mom.
[00:04:52] Silly mom.
[00:04:54] She's taking pictures of her.
[00:04:56] While Hannah being a watt
[00:04:58] she with.
[00:05:00] What she with?
[00:05:02] Sound like me calling my kids
[00:05:04] and then subsequently my daughter.
[00:05:06] Like guys.
[00:05:08] I wrote this.
[00:05:10] I wrote this.
[00:05:12] I should know it.
[00:05:16] With Hannah being single now,
[00:05:18] Professor
[00:05:20] Bradford comes in and asks to go out
[00:05:22] on a date, a little dinner something.
[00:05:24] Doesn't give her time to say no.
[00:05:26] It's happening.
[00:05:28] But that gets a little bit wonky
[00:05:30] because her mom is trying
[00:05:32] to set her up with Norman,
[00:05:34] which is weird because Norman has a girlfriend.
[00:05:36] But that's not the only weird
[00:05:38] thing going on here. Mom's being
[00:05:40] real weird. Pictures being
[00:05:42] sneaky, etc.
[00:05:44] When
[00:05:46] Hannah shows up to her
[00:05:48] not date with Norman, she sees
[00:05:50] her student Willa leaving in
[00:05:52] tears.
[00:05:54] But she says it's nothing, it's nothing.
[00:05:56] She sits down at dinner and
[00:05:58] notices her mom is spying on her from the quarter
[00:06:00] booth. So she goes to
[00:06:02] doctor and she finally admits that she
[00:06:04] is a private investigator now.
[00:06:06] So there you go.
[00:06:08] That's why she's being weird. Hannah
[00:06:10] then sees that Professor Bradford
[00:06:12] is at dinner with his ex-wife
[00:06:14] looking very chummy.
[00:06:16] Chummy chummy. The next day
[00:06:18] Hannah meets with the new
[00:06:20] prosecuting attorney Chad Norton
[00:06:22] from the virus.
[00:06:24] And it becomes clear
[00:06:26] from the antivirus. And it becomes
[00:06:28] clear that he is
[00:06:30] really
[00:06:32] wants her to stick to the truth. Maybe
[00:06:34] doesn't know what her
[00:06:36] history here in this town is.
[00:06:38] Finding dead people and what not.
[00:06:40] It's very much like hey make sure you're telling
[00:06:42] the truth here when you're
[00:06:44] talking about murder and what not.
[00:06:46] Apparently Professor Bradford has
[00:06:48] a TA that he
[00:06:50] describes as being troublesome
[00:06:52] when talking to Hannah. So when
[00:06:54] she sees them arguing, doing a little
[00:06:56] push push, she's like,
[00:06:58] what's going on here? After the
[00:07:00] leaves, Professor Bradford goes to turn
[00:07:02] on one of the burners and it blows
[00:07:04] the class up. Not really.
[00:07:06] There's fire. They're not
[00:07:08] sure if it's an accident or not but luckily
[00:07:10] some kid named Kyle was recording
[00:07:12] on his phone
[00:07:14] the entire time. So we find out that
[00:07:16] Hannah's mom was hired by Bradford's
[00:07:18] ex-wife
[00:07:20] which Hannah finds weird because of the dinner.
[00:07:22] But Bradford also
[00:07:24] keeps talking ish about
[00:07:26] his ex-wife. It's very weird.
[00:07:28] Bradford, sorry. She
[00:07:30] texts to meet up with
[00:07:32] him, Bradford and she
[00:07:34] is like I don't want to date. I don't
[00:07:36] want to do this date. But when she shows
[00:07:38] up to tell him that he
[00:07:40] has been stabbed to death. He's dead.
[00:07:42] Naturally Hannah's on the case.
[00:07:44] She meets with some of the students
[00:07:46] and she's struck by how
[00:07:48] sad Willis seems
[00:07:50] after this whole incident.
[00:07:52] Her friend tells Hannah that
[00:07:54] she had a crush on him so maybe that's what's
[00:07:56] going on there. We find out that the
[00:07:58] murder weapon was one of Hannah's
[00:08:00] knives so she's now a
[00:08:02] suspect. With only one
[00:08:04] week left of school the race is on to figure
[00:08:06] this out because even though
[00:08:08] this murderer might be a student
[00:08:10] they're responsible. You got to
[00:08:12] finish school first and then
[00:08:14] then bail and they would
[00:08:16] never skip out on their schooling.
[00:08:18] The new
[00:08:20] detective in town finds
[00:08:22] some gloves with blood on them so they
[00:08:24] go to forensic for DNA testing.
[00:08:26] Hannah figures out that
[00:08:28] the student that was
[00:08:30] recording the explosion was also
[00:08:32] failing Bradford's class.
[00:08:34] She goes to talk to him. It doesn't
[00:08:36] go particularly well. Hannah
[00:08:38] becomes concerned that Willa
[00:08:40] has not been showing up for class
[00:08:42] and her friend says that she, they haven't
[00:08:44] seen her in a while so she goes to check on her.
[00:08:46] She insists that she wasn't
[00:08:48] involved with him.
[00:08:50] Hannah bumps into Chad Norton
[00:08:52] from the antivirus and he
[00:08:54] becomes very aware that
[00:08:56] Hannah has her fingers on the
[00:08:58] pulse of what's going on in this city.
[00:09:00] She's like who me
[00:09:02] and then he leaves to go on a
[00:09:04] date with another woman. Hannah figures
[00:09:06] out what the password of
[00:09:08] Bradford's phone is because
[00:09:10] she's a smart cookie.
[00:09:12] And tells the new detective
[00:09:14] it works. She also decides
[00:09:16] that she needs to go talk to Willa one more
[00:09:18] time and that's when Willa
[00:09:20] gets a gun on Hannah.
[00:09:22] When she realizes that Hannah is starting
[00:09:24] to suspect her. Willa takes
[00:09:26] her and Norman somewhere
[00:09:28] with a gun. Hannah's dropping
[00:09:30] cupcake liners because she has those in
[00:09:32] her pockets no big deal. Willa's brother
[00:09:34] then pops out and is like
[00:09:36] I'll take care of this blah blah blah.
[00:09:38] There's a bit of a scuffle and
[00:09:40] luckily
[00:09:42] no one gets shot. The detective
[00:09:44] and the antivirus guy
[00:09:46] they show up and
[00:09:48] everybody's good to go. You might be wondering to yourself
[00:09:50] self why they do it
[00:09:52] why they do it. I know I was wondering that
[00:09:54] no I know I was luckily
[00:09:56] for everyone involved there is a very nice
[00:09:58] scene at the end of this movie where the women
[00:10:00] talk about what happened and I appreciated
[00:10:02] that scene we find out
[00:10:04] that obviously Willa
[00:10:06] maybe was a little bit more involved
[00:10:08] with professor
[00:10:10] Bradford than she was being
[00:10:12] honest about her brother found out about
[00:10:14] that with the
[00:10:16] explosion
[00:10:18] they thought maybe hey
[00:10:20] there could be something going on there so he goes
[00:10:22] and he takes care of business, kills the guy
[00:10:24] and there you go.
[00:10:28] That's it. Women are pumped
[00:10:30] and that's what
[00:10:32] Hannah
[00:10:34] has switched on the mystery
[00:10:38] We're gonna take a quick break
[00:10:40] we're gonna take a quick break
[00:10:42] we're gonna break this movie down with four segments
[00:10:44] here I
[00:10:46] Dick Dolomar
[00:10:48] That's got it.
[00:10:56] Welcome back everybody it's good to have a mystery
[00:10:58] I like when we have the mysteries it's fun
[00:11:00] it's a fun way to spend our Thursday
[00:11:02] let's break this
[00:11:04] movie down this is I believe
[00:11:06] Brian
[00:11:08] the third
[00:11:10] Hannah Swinson movie that we've done together
[00:11:12] I believe
[00:11:14] Dan we've done one extra one I believe
[00:11:16] on top of all that
[00:11:18] because we are cool
[00:11:20] but this is one bad
[00:11:22] this is one bad apple no Kami Matt
[00:11:24] in season 15
[00:11:26] we're gonna cover those back
[00:11:28] catalog yes Kami Matt
[00:11:30] out Victor Webster
[00:11:32] in
[00:11:34] how'd that change the dynamic
[00:11:36] what did we think of this movie all that
[00:11:38] and more right now
[00:11:40] we're gonna take part of the hot take part of the show
[00:11:42] Brian what do you think of this movie
[00:11:44] this actually pretty good for me
[00:11:46] they did some stuff differently in this one
[00:11:48] that I feel like they're on the right track
[00:11:50] for kind of veering away
[00:11:52] from the classic versions
[00:11:54] of this movie figuring out their own path
[00:11:56] with how they want to do the Hannah Swinson
[00:11:58] it didn't start with a murder
[00:12:00] which was really nice like the murder didn't
[00:12:02] happen till later it wasn't one of these things
[00:12:04] like right away you're down a dark alley
[00:12:06] so I kind of like that
[00:12:08] finally Hannah is a suspect
[00:12:10] for like a millisecond
[00:12:12] but still it happens though
[00:12:14] they were looking at her funny for a second
[00:12:16] and so that was a little different
[00:12:18] I didn't really
[00:12:20] the motivation for the murder
[00:12:22] like I was also a little confused about
[00:12:24] what happened
[00:12:26] as to why yeah like
[00:12:28] how it all went down and why
[00:12:30] guys I was pulling back to current
[00:12:32] I was so concerned because I'm at the end of this
[00:12:34] synopsis and I'm like I don't know
[00:12:36] why he did it
[00:12:38] and then they wrap up the movie with a
[00:12:40] here's what you missed
[00:12:42] here's what we know that you need to know now
[00:12:44] so that was really cool
[00:12:46] that always makes a great murder mystery
[00:12:48] when you had to explain the whole thing
[00:12:50] which not that's one downside
[00:12:52] there are good things
[00:12:54] Hannah being a suspect
[00:12:56] you keep really harping on that
[00:12:58] it's just about a huge part of that
[00:13:00] it's more realistic like she's
[00:13:02] always involved in this at certain
[00:13:04] moments and she's just gonna be like alright Hannah
[00:13:06] let's get those fingerprints on record
[00:13:08] here or something so I wasn't sure
[00:13:10] what happened the motivation I'm still
[00:13:12] kind of like his sister
[00:13:14] was into the teacher and she has no problem
[00:13:16] with him just murdering the guy
[00:13:18] I feel like she would have been a little more upset
[00:13:20] with her brother for there's the grades
[00:13:22] involved too yeah like if you
[00:13:24] miss once who cares teacher and you're
[00:13:26] failing yeah
[00:13:28] yeah
[00:13:30] process here was he finds out that
[00:13:32] they are a little bit of a thing
[00:13:34] there's then the fire
[00:13:36] that explosion but they didn't
[00:13:38] they weren't responsible for that I think he was responsible
[00:13:40] for it and Bradford knew
[00:13:42] he did or was finding out he did it
[00:13:44] yeah that was an attempt at murdering
[00:13:46] not very good
[00:13:48] funny ha ha
[00:13:50] I wasn't sure if he murdered him
[00:13:52] because he was concerned
[00:13:54] that they were gonna find out
[00:13:56] he was gonna ruin his career he says
[00:13:58] he's gonna get kicked out of college
[00:14:00] and I'm like I'm like my greats were bad
[00:14:02] so I murdered you and I still was like
[00:14:04] what even with the scene at the end
[00:14:06] clearly I didn't get it
[00:14:08] still murky so there's
[00:14:10] even when they lay it out it's clear as day
[00:14:12] I'm still like microdose.com
[00:14:14] it could be anything
[00:14:16] they got a little work to do I wouldn't mind
[00:14:18] getting back in the bakery a little longer
[00:14:20] thank god you said it also not a huge fan
[00:14:22] of candy apples so
[00:14:24] do with that what you will
[00:14:26] and that's all for me
[00:14:28] I think I'm with Brian
[00:14:30] um
[00:14:32] you guys are the worst
[00:14:34] I like the movie do I get it
[00:14:36] no it makes sense absolutely not
[00:14:38] here's what I didn't like about the movie
[00:14:40] is
[00:14:42] and Vic was great
[00:14:44] really dumb reveal
[00:14:46] of it's just dumb
[00:14:48] Vicky Wepps was great
[00:14:50] the couple of scenes that they have together
[00:14:52] especially the one at the bar
[00:14:54] dynamite I am a bit
[00:14:56] conflicted because
[00:14:58] I really like her and
[00:15:00] Norman together and I don't
[00:15:02] know as much as I love
[00:15:04] Vicky Wepps
[00:15:06] don't know if it was
[00:15:08] necessary because I feel like we got an ace
[00:15:10] in the hole am I using it right yeah
[00:15:12] I think we have yes
[00:15:14] I think we have something good going
[00:15:16] on here with Norm
[00:15:18] and just and it's just like what are
[00:15:20] we waiting for I feel like
[00:15:22] they have the thing
[00:15:24] that we want and do
[00:15:26] we want to spend another four movies
[00:15:28] waiting on a
[00:15:30] Sweeney and Vic to kiss
[00:15:32] I don't know I didn't get the vibe that they
[00:15:34] were gonna be an item really
[00:15:36] at all kind of that that's seen
[00:15:38] at the bar and even like when she
[00:15:40] sees that he is meeting
[00:15:42] somebody yeah see the disappointment
[00:15:44] I just I feel I would be thrilled
[00:15:46] I'd be thrilled if he's
[00:15:48] just there and it's actually
[00:15:50] Norman that she was because I think that they work
[00:15:52] well together personally and again I'm not
[00:15:54] some so I don't claim to be
[00:15:56] a Hannah Swinson
[00:15:58] like a fake like
[00:16:00] fake I don't really care I don't
[00:16:02] really care about this series
[00:16:04] obviously we came in late so I don't know
[00:16:06] everything and I don't but I don't I
[00:16:08] can't see a reason aside from the fact
[00:16:10] that he now has a girlfriend but clearly
[00:16:12] he doesn't care so just let's do
[00:16:14] this thing what are we waiting for let's do
[00:16:16] this thing so oh and
[00:16:18] I will say in this movie Hannah
[00:16:20] kind of doing this thing with her mom
[00:16:22] and or so like that the whole
[00:16:24] like we're doing
[00:16:26] that we've got this group together we're doing
[00:16:28] this thing I like that part of this movie in
[00:16:30] particular I felt like it was enhanced from the other
[00:16:32] ones that we've seen and so
[00:16:34] maybe the best
[00:16:36] that I've seen there you go of
[00:16:38] these so just okay Dan
[00:16:42] in the preview episode I
[00:16:44] didn't even let Brian finish the synopsis
[00:16:46] before I gave it zero zero
[00:16:48] and I wish that I could
[00:16:50] tell you that I'm sorry and I was wrong but neither
[00:16:52] of those things are true this movie's
[00:16:54] trash that I don't
[00:16:56] like these movies and I
[00:16:58] I want to not go
[00:17:00] into them with
[00:17:02] that expectation because I hate it
[00:17:04] but this series bores me
[00:17:06] to tears everyone
[00:17:08] should stay so far
[00:17:10] away from Hannah Swinson she is
[00:17:12] in a small town where there's
[00:17:14] murders by the truckload
[00:17:16] a murder happens 32 minutes
[00:17:18] into an 84 minute movie
[00:17:20] these guys both told you it was the best one
[00:17:22] and then they told you all the things they didn't like about
[00:17:24] it's um I didn't
[00:17:26] I don't need to we're credit
[00:17:28] I don't need to pile on
[00:17:30] I don't need to pile on
[00:17:32] I don't need to pile on to this movie any more than
[00:17:34] the two guys that liked it already did
[00:17:36] okay this movie's bad
[00:17:38] I wish they would stop making
[00:17:40] them and they would use the talents
[00:17:42] of the people on screen for better
[00:17:44] I thought Victor Webster in his
[00:17:46] limited screen time
[00:17:48] brought some fun pizzazz to this movie
[00:17:50] he doesn't get much to do
[00:17:52] I don't know why he's there much like the motive of the killer
[00:17:54] in this movie but he's there
[00:17:56] and and I it just
[00:17:58] these movies and maybe it's just
[00:18:00] an uphill battle that I'm just never going to get over
[00:18:02] but I've never liked a single one of these
[00:18:04] and I don't plan on a plan
[00:18:06] I don't think that's going to change I want it to
[00:18:08] you have a dog in the fight in regards to Norman
[00:18:10] I I've never cared
[00:18:12] I thought I was pro-camera Matheson
[00:18:14] of course but I did
[00:18:16] think that Hannah Swinson and
[00:18:18] Norman had decent chemistry
[00:18:20] in this movie
[00:18:22] yes Norman stepped it up in this one
[00:18:24] normal was great in this movie
[00:18:26] well let's calm it down
[00:18:28] no Norman was the star of this movie
[00:18:30] Norman was the star of this movie
[00:18:32] Norman really funny in this
[00:18:34] I thought Vic Webster was still the star
[00:18:36] of this movie
[00:18:38] he's a god
[00:18:40] so trumpet sounds Vic's coming
[00:18:42] that's all I got
[00:18:46] it's time for all the feels
[00:18:48] this is where we talk about what this movie gave us
[00:18:50] those feels
[00:18:52] I'll start with you
[00:18:54] Brian after the song
[00:19:04] boy that's good it's great
[00:19:06] that's good TV
[00:19:08] you just play that again for your feels
[00:19:10] now that's my face
[00:19:12] this once again reminded me how much
[00:19:14] I want to do a baking class
[00:19:16] boy I'd love to be in a baking class
[00:19:18] looks like so much fun
[00:19:20] I could show off my skills
[00:19:22] can I ask you this
[00:19:24] what's stopping you
[00:19:26] literally what is stopping freaking
[00:19:28] baking classes everywhere bro
[00:19:30] I know I look them up like every
[00:19:32] you all are good at baking things
[00:19:34] don't act like this is skydiving
[00:19:36] you can figure it out
[00:19:38] I know it's a low bar
[00:19:40] sorry go ahead
[00:19:42] he said he wants to flex on everyone else
[00:19:44] in the class he wants to show off
[00:19:46] I want to show some skills to see what I got
[00:19:48] see if I can keep up
[00:19:50] hey you know what
[00:19:52] I'm half of the reading public Brian
[00:19:54] of bakers and readers everywhere
[00:19:56] in the words of Kendrick Lamar
[00:19:58] be humble go in there
[00:20:00] and just be ready to learn
[00:20:02] don't act like you're going to
[00:20:04] don't go in there buddy
[00:20:06] look at me I'm salt boy
[00:20:08] I would never
[00:20:10] so hopefully this is by the next
[00:20:12] hand of swanson movie maybe I'm salt boy
[00:20:14] I heard salt bay retired
[00:20:16] kept the name salt boy
[00:20:18] salt boy bay
[00:20:20] b-y-o salt
[00:20:22] maybe by the next hand of swanson movie
[00:20:24] salt boy bay tells you you have to bring your own salt
[00:20:26] absolutely
[00:20:28] you don't know what they're playing
[00:20:30] but he doesn't have any salt beers
[00:20:32] I don't want to use anybody's shaker
[00:20:34] kidding me?
[00:20:36] you know what I want to do
[00:20:38] you know what I would like to challenge you with
[00:20:40] and maybe this could be a little
[00:20:42] incentive to join bramblejamplus.com
[00:20:44] I would like for you
[00:20:46] to take a cooking class
[00:20:48] and then do
[00:20:50] like a short sorry baking class
[00:20:52] and then do like short 15 minute
[00:20:54] recap podcast
[00:20:56] for the exclusive exclusive
[00:20:58] like letting people know
[00:21:00] what you learned maybe trying your own
[00:21:02] new thing I don't know I'm just throwing
[00:21:04] an idea
[00:21:06] producer Aaron has just pulled it up
[00:21:08] they're all sold out
[00:21:10] cake baking
[00:21:12] but also those are only the last
[00:21:14] 10 days I bet if you keep going
[00:21:16] yeah
[00:21:18] but this is just one location
[00:21:20] in green so what are you looking for
[00:21:22] you said no to cakes
[00:21:24] you said no to cooking with strawberry
[00:21:26] or
[00:21:28] no I don't need to do cookies
[00:21:30] I don't know
[00:21:32] I just want to bake
[00:21:34] you don't want to bake
[00:21:36] you're done for the episode
[00:21:38] I want to go to a
[00:21:40] baking class
[00:21:42] what about noki
[00:21:44] noki's noki
[00:21:46] it's pasta
[00:21:48] yeah but it looks like it could be
[00:21:50] I would do that
[00:21:52] cakes are cake is a cake
[00:21:54] I can make a great cake
[00:21:56] unless it's a cool cake
[00:21:58] what people can't see is
[00:22:00] Aaron is sweating
[00:22:02] from how hard it was to look these up
[00:22:04] you see what I mean then Aaron
[00:22:06] she pretty much
[00:22:08] she like it's unbelievable
[00:22:10] he jumped out of it so crazy
[00:22:12] I like the idea though Bran
[00:22:14] we still in the feel segment
[00:22:16] I'm conflicted on
[00:22:18] this
[00:22:20] feel
[00:22:22] we started early too
[00:22:24] I was
[00:22:26] lost that
[00:22:28] Hannah has cake
[00:22:30] liners in her pocket
[00:22:32] so many
[00:22:34] I liked that
[00:22:36] it's the literal
[00:22:38] bread crumb
[00:22:40] whatever I don't care
[00:22:42] she doesn't care about the environment
[00:22:44] it was terrible
[00:22:46] I said I conflicted
[00:22:48] I said it
[00:22:50] Barbara Niven is too good for these movies
[00:22:54] not a great time
[00:22:56] they do something so ridiculous
[00:22:58] where she takes herself
[00:23:00] seriously as a private investigator
[00:23:02] and is doing classes and stuff
[00:23:04] she is hamming it up
[00:23:06] so much and her performance
[00:23:08] is infectious
[00:23:10] it was the one thing
[00:23:12] I kept going well at least Barbara Niven
[00:23:14] is having the time of her life
[00:23:16] at least she doesn't care and she's just here
[00:23:18] to play and have fun
[00:23:20] and it jumped off the screen
[00:23:22] good on you Barbara
[00:23:24] let's take a break
[00:23:26] I'm having a tough time
[00:23:28] all the feels really took it out of me
[00:23:30] after we climbed the mountain
[00:23:32] that is looking at baking classes
[00:23:34] let's all take a nap
[00:23:36] we've all worked hard here tonight
[00:23:38] I want to sign up for a baking class
[00:23:40] we'll be right back
[00:23:42] music
[00:23:44] Mountain Kilimanjaro
[00:23:46] K2
[00:23:48] Alps
[00:23:50] Maybe a handmade biscuit
[00:23:52] Artisan base
[00:23:54] if you take a biscuit class
[00:23:56] I'll lose my mind
[00:23:58] Just bring it
[00:24:00] Time for the weigh what
[00:24:02] Wait what I'll start with you
[00:24:04] At the chameleon Hannah ordered
[00:24:06] a glass of red wine
[00:24:08] Am I right?
[00:24:10] I mean, I'm just happy you do it.
[00:24:15] You do it every once in a while.
[00:24:17] I mean, it's fantastic.
[00:24:18] Good way.
[00:24:19] That's a callback from over two years ago before Brian was on the podcast
[00:24:22] and I love it every time.
[00:24:24] What is it?
[00:24:26] Panda decided one day for a wait, what he was going to try to slide
[00:24:30] bias that a character ordered a beer, just a beer didn't call out.
[00:24:36] He just ordered that was a good wait.
[00:24:37] What?
[00:24:38] And we just we just rest and peace.
[00:24:40] Obviously, every year, but if you don't know Panda,
[00:24:44] but once every four or five months, Brian does it and it's fantastic.
[00:24:48] Wonderful.
[00:24:48] Thank you.
[00:24:49] Yeah.
[00:24:49] That was a good time.
[00:24:51] Bradford was just going to borrow a red one.
[00:24:57] What was read?
[00:24:58] So many reds.
[00:24:58] So many reds.
[00:24:59] Oh man.
[00:25:01] Can I get a beer?
[00:25:04] He was stabbed in a weird spot.
[00:25:06] Like, was that like a kid?
[00:25:07] Nisha.
[00:25:08] His body.
[00:25:08] In my experience, I've been stabbed a lot.
[00:25:11] Have I been to a bacon class?
[00:25:13] No, my finger.
[00:25:14] He was stabbed like in the back.
[00:25:17] Kidney-ish area, like here.
[00:25:20] Yeah, it was like one.
[00:25:21] Listen, it did not look like I don't plan on doing it, but if you were going to.
[00:25:25] But I could see it happening there.
[00:25:27] Maybe you're turning away.
[00:25:28] If you're yes, it good, but it didn't look like a stabbing scene.
[00:25:32] Like it looked like a clean stab, barely any blood.
[00:25:35] We brought in someone to stab.
[00:25:36] Come on.
[00:25:37] Perfect.
[00:25:37] Thanks.
[00:25:37] Yeah, bring this.
[00:25:38] How big is that night?
[00:25:39] Oh yeah, that'll be fine.
[00:25:40] So I don't know.
[00:25:41] Those were.
[00:25:41] We made him bring his own knife.
[00:25:46] You got to bring your own knife.
[00:25:47] What?
[00:25:47] I will say this.
[00:25:48] He has a shirt that says stabby on it, but he does also have an open-air
[00:25:51] basket of muffins.
[00:25:52] Brandon, you still.
[00:25:54] Yeah.
[00:25:55] Slice it on the knife and put it in my mouth.
[00:25:59] Suck it right off.
[00:26:00] Yeah.
[00:26:00] Sucking on to that dog.
[00:26:02] Oh boy.
[00:26:02] Sucking on to that dog.
[00:26:04] A, a pre-finals party to let loose.
[00:26:08] Yeah.
[00:26:08] Dude, you cannot.
[00:26:10] I will say this for even branding me that sounds irresponsible.
[00:26:13] Brian and I, Brett, that couldn't even stay still here.
[00:26:15] Is this, uh, was this a South Carolina university?
[00:26:17] Am I right?
[00:26:18] Oh, it was a red one.
[00:26:20] Oh man.
[00:26:22] Go Tigers.
[00:26:23] Bradford's office is jacked.
[00:26:26] Like I feel like that office was corner office.
[00:26:29] The office was jacked.
[00:26:30] His office was phenomenal.
[00:26:32] Bradford.
[00:26:32] You didn't even working out, man.
[00:26:33] It was never ripped, man.
[00:26:35] Jacked.
[00:26:36] It was phenomenal.
[00:26:37] A beautiful office.
[00:26:39] The thing was jacked.
[00:26:40] I think the, the suspect list should have been everybody who
[00:26:43] was in line to get that office after he left because
[00:26:46] that's your suspect list.
[00:26:47] That office was so nice.
[00:26:49] Um, and as a calendar freak, I didn't say it was jacked.
[00:26:53] Jacked.
[00:26:55] Yeah.
[00:26:55] As a calendar freak, I did not appreciate the way that
[00:26:59] Hannah Swenson wrote finals all the way across the whole
[00:27:03] week with one letter on each day, eliminating the space on
[00:27:07] every day for other things that were going to happen.
[00:27:09] Like you write finals on Sunday and you draw a line across.
[00:27:14] You leave plenty of space like what?
[00:27:16] Why would you do that to your calendar?
[00:27:18] You cannot.
[00:27:19] You cannot.
[00:27:20] You can get a beer or what?
[00:27:22] You can't write finals across the whole week.
[00:27:25] Aaron's got Aaron's got to do something like it's a
[00:27:28] mark.
[00:27:28] It's a marker calendar.
[00:27:29] No, it was a pretty sure it was a paper counter.
[00:27:31] It's a paper counter.
[00:27:32] But there goes your whole week of stuff as your whole week.
[00:27:36] Like, yeah, so like now what else are we going to write on
[00:27:38] that calendar?
[00:27:39] Aaron just ruined.
[00:27:40] Yeah, we grow.
[00:27:41] Yeah, there we go.
[00:27:43] Uh, I got a few things.
[00:27:46] Uh, got it.
[00:27:47] Time one in the cooking class in the cooking class.
[00:27:55] She decides that she is going to embrace technology, which
[00:27:59] is a beautiful thing.
[00:28:00] Uh, paper calendar.
[00:28:01] Maybe tough, tough, tough thing to do as well as useless now
[00:28:06] when what you're putting on the TV is a recipe in very tiny
[00:28:12] font.
[00:28:12] No one can follow this recipe.
[00:28:14] The font is so small even though the TV is massive.
[00:28:17] How small could that font have been to where it's still tiny
[00:28:20] on that TV?
[00:28:21] I don't know.
[00:28:24] How small was it?
[00:28:25] We all have to talk about this.
[00:28:28] And if you're, if this is something that you do, I don't
[00:28:32] want to hear it.
[00:28:32] I don't want to hear it from you, but we can all collectively
[00:28:35] agree that the proper way to eat an apple is okay.
[00:28:43] If this you go, you go horizontal.
[00:28:47] Yeah.
[00:28:47] So anyway, you don't go vertical.
[00:28:49] You don't, you don't go because you're making your way around.
[00:28:54] You're making your way around making my way around.
[00:28:56] She, she eats an apple top bod.
[00:28:59] You can't do that.
[00:29:01] You don't eat an apple top.
[00:29:02] You can't do that.
[00:29:04] And if you do that, I don't want to hear it.
[00:29:07] I said at the beginning, I don't want to hear it.
[00:29:10] Yeah, exactly.
[00:29:12] I love this line.
[00:29:14] Um, a custom greeting card kind of fancy, but can a student
[00:29:20] really afford something like that?
[00:29:22] Like, I don't know.
[00:29:24] Like what is how much could it be?
[00:29:27] Like how much could it be?
[00:29:28] I just love like, I know students don't have a lot of money,
[00:29:31] but how much are these custom greeting cards?
[00:29:34] Uh, last but not least, does she not have any knives at
[00:29:38] home?
[00:29:39] She, she is she grabbed a ladle ladle where we've already
[00:29:45] seen stabbings work people.
[00:29:48] So don't, you're a baker grabs, grab a night.
[00:29:53] Don't grab a ladle.
[00:29:54] Don't boo.
[00:29:55] Vote.
[00:29:56] Sam.
[00:29:58] Um, yeah, you mentioned for the first time ever in these
[00:30:00] movies, she's a suspect.
[00:30:02] Yeah.
[00:30:02] Uh, there's a lot of others we've not gotten to yet, but
[00:30:04] there's another one in this that is an important first
[00:30:07] and this is absurd.
[00:30:09] She finds out that she's going to have to be a witness
[00:30:11] for the prosecution in a case for someone that she helped
[00:30:16] bring to justice.
[00:30:17] And she acts as though she doesn't even want to spell the
[00:30:20] word witness.
[00:30:21] She acts as though she doesn't know what to do, where to
[00:30:24] show up.
[00:30:25] It's explained to her like you're in the first 10 minutes
[00:30:28] of a Sorkin film.
[00:30:29] It couldn't be.
[00:30:31] She has been around no less than what almost a dozen
[00:30:34] murders.
[00:30:36] Not once has she been called to testify, give a
[00:30:39] statement.
[00:30:40] So like she acts like, so tell me there's a court case
[00:30:44] after this.
[00:30:44] We don't just throw them in the clink.
[00:30:46] Like she would Vic Webster is talking to her like she has
[00:30:50] no knowledge.
[00:30:50] So this is what I was a little bit of this at all.
[00:30:53] I didn't know if this has never happened before.
[00:30:56] I couldn't tell what the vibe was.
[00:30:59] Part of me thought that she was offended at the way
[00:31:03] in which he was talking, man.
[00:31:04] I didn't get that at all.
[00:31:05] She's been a part of so many of them.
[00:31:07] The other part of me was like, no, she had legit
[00:31:10] in question.
[00:31:11] She had inquisitive face, yeah, which was embarrassing.
[00:31:14] I wish it would have been a bit.
[00:31:15] That would be way better.
[00:31:17] Yeah, I'm this English class is reading Jane Eyre to
[00:31:22] kill a mockingbird and Proust in one class at one time.
[00:31:28] What class are they taking?
[00:31:31] It's like a huge class.
[00:31:32] They're taking it one point in the year.
[00:31:35] You're reading those three books.
[00:31:37] I like good luck out there, gang.
[00:31:42] There's an explosion in the kitchen and I need to
[00:31:45] say that because no one leaves the kitchen.
[00:31:49] There's an it's not a little fire.
[00:31:52] There isn't a murder attempt and every kid is like
[00:31:58] looking around and then they slowly file out like
[00:32:02] it's a fire drill at school.
[00:32:04] There's an explosion in the kitchen.
[00:32:06] Everyone duck run get out of the way now.
[00:32:10] Full explosion, not little fire like trying to
[00:32:15] kill someone.
[00:32:16] It literally knocks three people down.
[00:32:19] You got to get out of their gang.
[00:32:21] You don't know what else is going to explode.
[00:32:23] You don't stand and watch that was weird.
[00:32:26] How many cupcake liners does she have in her pocket?
[00:32:30] How many I don't know what I have feels just thinking
[00:32:32] about him.
[00:32:32] Yeah, and the best is is that the woman holding the
[00:32:36] gun never sees her drop.
[00:32:38] Yeah, and she's like, it's a bright turquoise always
[00:32:42] well lit and she's just chucking it out.
[00:32:47] Willie nearly and nobody know the woman with the gun.
[00:32:52] Is that Willie nearly we got it.
[00:32:54] What's up baby boy?
[00:32:55] Willie, how's it been man?
[00:32:56] I'm so good.
[00:32:57] I'm on the road right now since fire.
[00:33:01] Fire.
[00:33:02] She's we're both there.
[00:33:05] Yeah, yeah, not that one.
[00:33:07] Not that one.
[00:33:08] We celebrate our normal.
[00:33:10] Normal celebrate fire.
[00:33:12] You love fire live up to your name there.
[00:33:14] You you went all Willie nearly I went all Willie.
[00:33:16] No, I got to be honest.
[00:33:17] A lot of people think maybe they get fire from back then.
[00:33:21] I it's mine.
[00:33:22] I came up with it.
[00:33:24] This is why I decided to keep my distance.
[00:33:26] I'm kidding.
[00:33:26] I'm kidding.
[00:33:27] I'm okay.
[00:33:28] You're a juxtaposter.
[00:33:29] You're no caveman.
[00:33:30] Thank you Willie.
[00:33:31] Anything else for us?
[00:33:32] I'm going to be at the House of Blues different
[00:33:36] different different than the big video where this year's
[00:33:39] firefest spelled normally is now I'm actually doing a new thing.
[00:33:43] I'm doing a new thing called water con water con to be all in
[00:33:49] the elements and a lot of people say maybe water came from
[00:33:53] earth.
[00:33:55] No, sorry.
[00:33:56] It's your boy Willie.
[00:33:58] Really?
[00:34:00] You know there was a chance in there for Willie to hang up
[00:34:02] and it would have been perfect.
[00:34:03] And then he stayed.
[00:34:05] And then he stayed on.
[00:34:06] I'm kidding.
[00:34:06] I didn't create water.
[00:34:08] He stayed on the line and it got real terrible.
[00:34:09] And then it came back around for me anyway.
[00:34:12] House of Blues hangs up now.
[00:34:13] I think you nailed it.
[00:34:15] It's a massage therapy.
[00:34:17] I thought he might stick around with the other elements.
[00:34:21] The air up there.
[00:34:22] When's that fast?
[00:34:23] Oh, you want to talk more?
[00:34:25] Yes.
[00:34:26] I'm working on a few things with other elements.
[00:34:30] The air.
[00:34:32] Is there anymore?
[00:34:33] Wind, air, wind.
[00:34:35] Oh shut up.
[00:34:36] You dumbass.
[00:34:38] Oh, oh, I'm sorry Daniel.
[00:34:42] You mean to tell me you think that the wind in the air are
[00:34:47] the same?
[00:34:48] Yes.
[00:34:50] Well, you are nothing but a big old whippersnapper.
[00:34:55] All right.
[00:34:56] I'm kidding.
[00:34:56] I know the difference.
[00:34:58] But do you?
[00:35:01] All right.
[00:35:01] Thank you Willie.
[00:35:02] It was fantastic.
[00:35:03] This is as good as we can promise.
[00:35:04] Beastie boys.
[00:35:05] Beastie boys.
[00:35:06] That's right.
[00:35:07] Of course.
[00:35:09] I did mention it in the hot take, but everybody should stay
[00:35:12] far away from Anna Swenson.
[00:35:13] She is around so many murders all the time.
[00:35:16] It's crazy.
[00:35:17] And for some reason this woman, she never goes anywhere
[00:35:21] without a box of baked goods ever.
[00:35:23] And at first it's like, oh, she's just thoughtful.
[00:35:25] And then I think she might be a psychopath.
[00:35:28] I think one of us brings this up at every one of these
[00:35:31] movies.
[00:35:32] She is always carrying a box of scones or muffins or
[00:35:35] cookies or cakes.
[00:35:37] It's ridiculous.
[00:35:39] Like you don't always have a box of baked goods.
[00:35:41] I need to, I need this person in my life.
[00:35:44] Me too.
[00:35:44] Erin, if you could pick that up, if you could just, I mean,
[00:35:47] you basically do it for me with pop charts.
[00:35:48] So we're halfway there at this point.
[00:35:50] Go home and bake something every night.
[00:35:52] I don't, they can be store bought.
[00:35:53] Yeah.
[00:35:54] I mean, maybe tomorrow and there might be so.
[00:35:57] Oh boy.
[00:35:58] Look out.
[00:35:59] D, D come.
[00:36:00] Spoiler.
[00:36:01] And her big ones are so huge.
[00:36:02] Like the cookies are gigantic.
[00:36:04] The ones that you're talking about.
[00:36:05] Yeah, yeah, yeah.
[00:36:06] Yeah.
[00:36:06] Yeah.
[00:36:07] Yeah.
[00:36:07] Yeah.
[00:36:08] Harry Rinal is speaking about the quarter.
[00:36:10] You get one out of here, man.
[00:36:13] I know.
[00:36:13] I know.
[00:36:13] I know.
[00:36:13] I know.
[00:36:14] I know.
[00:36:14] I know.
[00:36:15] I found a wine earlier.
[00:36:16] Yeah.
[00:36:17] Be careful.
[00:36:18] Dan's at it.
[00:36:19] That's it.
[00:36:19] It's time for what the hallmarks where we want to
[00:36:20] could have been maybe if it was a goos.
[00:36:22] Brian, what are you still wondering about?
[00:36:24] I did assume Vic came onto the show to be part of
[00:36:28] the love triangle with Norman and Hannah.
[00:36:31] But then I just get this vibe from Hannah's mom that
[00:36:34] she's like, she seems to have like laser eyes on
[00:36:38] Vic here and he doesn't seem to mind.
[00:36:41] They're walking arm in arm.
[00:36:42] Let me ask you this.
[00:36:43] How not, you know, how old was the woman that he
[00:36:47] was meeting up with?
[00:36:48] Maybe he has a thing for older women.
[00:36:49] I didn't even notice that.
[00:36:50] That's what guys should wish.
[00:36:51] I think she's taken that to the take.
[00:36:52] But it might, I feel like that's a direction.
[00:36:54] Are they going to go?
[00:36:55] Are they going to go with that?
[00:36:56] I mean, I would love that Barbara Niven Vic weps.
[00:37:00] Come on.
[00:37:00] Yeah, right now.
[00:37:01] Right now.
[00:37:02] Absolutely.
[00:37:04] We let that dog go.
[00:37:06] Guys, I want to take you to the very first scene of this
[00:37:08] movie where she's unloading apples.
[00:37:11] And one of one of the apples has a knife stabbed through
[00:37:19] it.
[00:37:19] She holds this up.
[00:37:22] She looks around goes on her way back to work.
[00:37:27] And that's it.
[00:37:28] That's it.
[00:37:29] That's it.
[00:37:32] Why is it?
[00:37:36] Who did that?
[00:37:37] No one's concerns.
[00:37:39] One bad couple of things.
[00:37:40] One, we now know through the power of cinema that the person
[00:37:44] taking the pictures was her mom.
[00:37:47] This movie has nothing to do with the power of cinema.
[00:37:48] Her mom.
[00:37:50] Her mom.
[00:37:52] Her mom saw her daughter pull an apple on a knife out
[00:37:58] of her trunk of her car and said, that's good.
[00:38:02] I'm not going to check on her or nothing.
[00:38:04] And then turns out she had to check on her because it
[00:38:07] didn't matter.
[00:38:09] It didn't matter at all.
[00:38:10] What was the point of that apple on a knife?
[00:38:16] But was it look cool?
[00:38:18] Yeah.
[00:38:19] Yeah.
[00:38:20] The whole I'll tell you what the point was.
[00:38:22] The point was was for 10 minutes.
[00:38:24] We're not going to know who's taking the pictures, but
[00:38:27] we want you to think that it could be something bad.
[00:38:29] And one way to do that is by having Hannah pull out an
[00:38:32] apple on a knife from the trunk of her car.
[00:38:36] But now that we know it's just her mom, now I'm just
[00:38:39] like what is it?
[00:38:40] That's right.
[00:38:40] That's right.
[00:38:41] What is it?
[00:38:42] You all right buddy?
[00:38:43] Did no one else think about this?
[00:38:45] No, I was like this is stupid.
[00:38:46] The movie stupid.
[00:38:48] I don't like the movie.
[00:38:49] No one else thought about it.
[00:38:51] Yeah, that's right.
[00:38:51] What is it?
[00:38:53] Yeah.
[00:38:54] Dan.
[00:38:54] Mine has already been mentioned twice, but basically
[00:38:56] I was under the assumption that Vic Webster was brought in
[00:38:59] here to be the new love interest or part of that love
[00:39:03] triangle, but between our talk about how Norman seemed to
[00:39:05] be much better in this movie and the now brought to the
[00:39:09] table Barbara Niven possibility.
[00:39:12] I would love to see it go either of those two like
[00:39:15] either both of those things happen.
[00:39:17] That's what I would love to see happen.
[00:39:18] So my what the homework is please do this.
[00:39:20] That's what with the hallmark.
