[00:00:00] Hello darling, it's your friend Bran and I love Hallmark Love You, Harry Films. Hello darling.

[00:00:10] It's Brian. I like Hallmark Love You, Harry Films. I don't know where that went. That one.

[00:00:16] Hello, hello. It's me, Dan. I despise the Darcy Films in this Isn't that the Hallmark podcast?

[00:00:26] That's the Hallmark, It's this podcast.

[00:00:31] You look like you're wiping your mouth for days. That's this podcast.

[00:00:34] Oh, dude.

[00:00:36] We hope you like this Darcy podcast for a long time.

[00:00:42] All right.

[00:00:46] Hi everybody.

[00:00:47] I know if you think for one second that these hats were not form-fitted, laser-measured-

[00:00:53] Laser.

[00:00:54] Laser heads.

[00:00:55] You would be mistaken because if you think that we all got the same size add-on.

[00:01:02] This is one of those movie tricks, right? It's only in the fourth perspective.

[00:01:06] That's right.

[00:01:07] This is the camera trick.

[00:01:09] Yeah, yeah. Brian's head is not eight sizes too big.

[00:01:12] Have you been working on it?

[00:01:14] It's just, you finally got that magic trick down.

[00:01:16] I'm going to get my box trick here.

[00:01:18] Anybody have a coat? Hey, pick a card.

[00:01:21] Dark-wing card.

[00:01:27] Now I got to be honest, I spent more time today in the 1800s or acting like we're in

[00:01:35] the 1800s than ever before in my life.

[00:01:39] The people who lived through the 1800s, actually, they didn't even have to deal with this.

[00:01:44] It's a lot we're going to get through. We're going to have a good time.

[00:01:48] I like it. Hey, here's a question for you guys.

[00:01:53] I was watching Night Rider, the old one, another new one.

[00:02:01] And they were riding in the car and they're doing all the things.

[00:02:03] And kids like, "We got some sift kitty on you, didn't you?"

[00:02:06] It's not British.

[00:02:08] You know who kid is here.

[00:02:10] Yeah, kid is Mr. Feeney.

[00:02:11] Mr. Feeney's always a little British.

[00:02:13] Basically, Mr. Feeney wants to know how your weekend was.

[00:02:17] Oh, wow.

[00:02:18] Feeney.

[00:02:19] Feeney.

[00:02:20] Oh, I think it was great, Bran.

[00:02:21] It was awesome.

[00:02:23] Got some sleep.

[00:02:24] What'd you do?

[00:02:25] What'd you do?

[00:02:26] Hi, I'm with my family.

[00:02:27] All weekend.

[00:02:28] Oh, weekend.

[00:02:29] I ate some good food, went to the Trampoline Park.

[00:02:31] We watched two movies.

[00:02:32] Mm-hmm.

[00:02:33] Just lived a lot.

[00:02:34] Well, movies did you watch.

[00:02:35] Wonka, which is now available for streaming.

[00:02:37] Wonka?

[00:02:38] And migration, which is also now available for streaming.

[00:02:41] So you spent $50 on streaming movies this weekend.

[00:02:44] So now that we're you're asking, we always were going to buy one.

[00:02:47] Wonka.

[00:02:48] Sure.

[00:02:49] So that was out the gate.

[00:02:50] I said, no, we're not buying migration.

[00:02:52] And my kid said, we'll pay for it with the money in our piggy bank.

[00:02:56] And I said, doesn't add up to $30 to do us $30.

[00:03:00] And I poured out the money in their piggy bank.

[00:03:01] And I'll be dang if they didn't have $31.76.

[00:03:04] Wow.

[00:03:05] Wow.

[00:03:06] They spent it all.

[00:03:07] They spent it all on migration.

[00:03:08] Wow.

[00:03:09] Did I take it from them?

[00:03:10] Every last red set?

[00:03:11] Yeah.

[00:03:12] 100%.

[00:03:13] No, I put it back in their piggy bank.

[00:03:14] Oh, come on.

[00:03:15] You didn't know that.

[00:03:16] They don't know that.

[00:03:17] I know.

[00:03:18] Dan, they were so excited, they had enough money to buy this mediocre movie.

[00:03:23] And who was I staying in their way?

[00:03:26] This would be you.

[00:03:28] The Tonson House is single-handedly keeping Hollywood afloat.

[00:03:32] You put on any movie.

[00:03:33] You're doing the math there.

[00:03:34] That's actually 60 bucks.

[00:03:35] So long ago, I was like 24, 24, 9, 9.

[00:03:38] Could be wrong.

[00:03:39] We said that one.

[00:03:40] Because I looked because I looked this weekend as well.

[00:03:42] No, I got it.

[00:03:43] The difference between you and I is you bought two.

[00:03:45] I bought zero.

[00:03:46] But you gave them back?

[00:03:47] You gave them back.

[00:03:48] But you know it.

[00:03:49] I did.

[00:03:50] So you did.

[00:03:51] But maybe I'll take it from them.

[00:03:52] I don't know.

[00:03:53] We'll see.

[00:03:54] We'll see what happens.

[00:03:55] It's tough because now they're going to win.

[00:03:57] Hold on.

[00:03:58] You already put the money back in the piggy bank.

[00:04:00] You can't take it back now.

[00:04:02] They don't know it better.

[00:04:03] They're going to think money just shows up now.

[00:04:05] Beth Ann in the chat says that I beaged myself with a football this weekend.

[00:04:08] I was throwing football with my kids this weekend and I throw the ball and my kid tries

[00:04:13] to catch it and it jams his finger.

[00:04:15] Oh yeah.

[00:04:16] And he's hurt and he looks down and then he goes, "Dad, why did you aim for my hands?"

[00:04:22] Just like that.

[00:04:23] As tears are streaming down his face.

[00:04:25] And I had to turn away.

[00:04:27] And then I went, "Buddy?"

[00:04:28] That's where he is.

[00:04:30] Because that's where I was aiming.

[00:04:31] I'm sorry that you're hurt.

[00:04:33] But I'm trying to throw it to your hands, buddy.

[00:04:36] Where does he think he catches it?

[00:04:38] I don't know.

[00:04:39] It doesn't matter.

[00:04:40] Sounds like an abuse to me.

[00:04:41] I don't know.

[00:04:42] It's under arrest.

[00:04:43] I've heard a finger that does.

[00:04:44] Oh, yeah.

[00:04:45] I'm doing a little college basketball this weekend, Dan, and I'm excited.

[00:04:48] March Madness.

[00:04:49] Come on around the corner.

[00:04:50] Do you watch Kansas Houston?

[00:04:51] North Carolina Duke?

[00:04:52] Do you watch all those?

[00:04:53] Do you watch some, like...

[00:04:54] No.

[00:04:55] I watched the games that were.

[00:04:56] I watched Purdue.

[00:04:57] Northwestern?

[00:04:58] No.

[00:04:59] Wisconsin.

[00:05:00] Good.

[00:05:01] Wisconsin.

[00:05:02] Yeah.

[00:05:03] Yeah, which was fun.

[00:05:04] Yeah, I didn't watch any deep cuts.

[00:05:05] Yeah.

[00:05:06] No, you don't watch any deep cuts.

[00:05:07] Yeah, but I'm excited.

[00:05:08] Dude, it's turning time.

[00:05:09] I'm excited.

[00:05:10] It's almost turning time.

[00:05:11] Do you do it here?

[00:05:12] Yeah.

[00:05:13] I don't know.

[00:05:14] In London, I'm just dressed up, how I'm going to dress the whole time I'm going to do this

[00:05:17] weekend, buddy.

[00:05:18] I worked on a school project with my son, his first diorama on ocean habitats and the

[00:05:24] ecosystem.

[00:05:25] There's a place.

[00:05:26] Can I actually...

[00:05:27] Can I actually...

[00:05:28] I'll tell you guys something about that.

[00:05:29] Because I did some similar research.

[00:05:31] Oh, you did.

[00:05:32] There's a place on the...

[00:05:33] Oh, Ocean Avenue.

[00:05:34] Ocean Avenue.

[00:05:35] Yeah.

[00:05:36] Yeah.

[00:05:37] I used to sit there.

[00:05:38] Talk with you.

[00:05:39] Yeah.

[00:05:40] Well, when we were about 18.

[00:05:41] Yeah, it felt so right.

[00:05:42] It's all right.

[00:05:43] It's been all day.

[00:05:44] It's been all night.

[00:05:45] It's been all night.

[00:05:46] That reminds me of a place on the corner of Cherry Street, right?

[00:05:49] Yeah.

[00:05:50] We would walk on the beach in our bare feet.

[00:05:52] Yeah.

[00:05:53] Yeah, no shoes.

[00:05:54] We were 18...

[00:05:55] What?

[00:05:56] So we were 16 on Ocean Avenue or 18.

[00:05:57] Yeah, yeah, yeah.

[00:05:58] I'm checking for you.

[00:05:59] I'm checking for you later.

[00:06:00] Guess we have a great memory.

[00:06:01] 16.

[00:06:02] That's right.

[00:06:03] Even if I need a hard violin.

[00:06:04] No.

[00:06:05] Fuck.

[00:06:06] Paging...

[00:06:07] Paging...

[00:06:08] What are you doing?

[00:06:09] We need to start.

[00:06:10] Stop!

[00:06:11] We need 70 vials of CC.

[00:06:14] Nope.

[00:06:15] Call it.

[00:06:16] 70 vials of CC.

[00:06:19] CC cream.

[00:06:20] Oh man.

[00:06:21] Time of death.

[00:06:22] February 3rd, 2024.

[00:06:23] Yeah.

[00:06:24] This one in this movie, and when I died it went on something like this.

[00:06:29] We meet Dr. Eloise Cavendish, Tom's daughter.

[00:06:34] And...

[00:06:39] On a plane, reading some Jane Austen.

[00:06:46] And she...

[00:06:47] What did you think about Jane Austen?

[00:06:49] Did you read Jane Austen before this?

[00:06:51] I'm doing it for the end of the month.

[00:06:53] This camera is great too.

[00:06:55] This all ends up.

[00:06:56] This is great.

[00:06:57] This camera shows you how ginormous finds that.

[00:07:00] Yeah.

[00:07:01] It is just like a fucking...

[00:07:02] You know what?

[00:07:03] I would play some bet on this.

[00:07:04] I think by the next time it goes to you it's going to be fixed.

[00:07:07] It's just an idea.

[00:07:08] Okay.

[00:07:09] Let's find out.

[00:07:10] What's the way Jane Austen?

[00:07:11] So she works.

[00:07:12] She's reading the book.

[00:07:14] She's heading.

[00:07:15] It looks so much better.

[00:07:16] No, no.

[00:07:17] I think...

[00:07:18] I think by the time...

[00:07:19] I think by the time...

[00:07:20] Time the synopsis is done. Like it will go to the first break and then after that it'll be fixed. That's what I think is going to happen. We'll find out. There's not an envelope that can fix that. She's reading it on the plane and she tells a bro this dude next to her that she's going to go speak at a Jane Austen conference. She loves the work. She hates the dress up. She hates the silliness. She hates the balls.

[00:07:50] And so which makes it all the more unfortunate when she gets to the airport and she is greeted by a fella, dressed up. His name is Sam Lee. He is the Darcy of this Jane Austen conference and he's in full Darcy attire. She is not thrilled because, have I mentioned, she hates dress up. Her sister Maya also shows up. She's in tears. She just broke up with her boyfriend.

[00:08:19] The boyfriend's like whatever. She's your problem now. Alloise sees a professor, Victoria Jennings. That's

[00:08:26] Ken's sister by the way.

[00:08:31] And she's the head of Princeton's English department and she really wants to impress Victoria Jennings.

[00:08:46] And so when she finds out that Victoria loves all the silliness, the dressing up, the balls

[00:08:53] of the convention, she gives in and takes Sam up on his offer to help her loosen up and get

[00:09:02] so silly on. And so they hang out a ton, dancing in secret garden, helping with food, ETC, and

[00:09:18] then she sees Sam and Mia, they are having a little flirty, flirty fun time. We're so

[00:09:29] excited. And so she's like, it's not a big deal. It's not a big deal. But also Mia strikes

[00:09:37] again when she tells Victoria that her sister hates dress up, hates silliness, hates balls.

[00:09:48] And this is big news because Victoria's like, I thought, I thought we were a Ken there.

[00:09:54] We like the silliness. We like the fun. We like all of that. But also the work. How am I

[00:09:59] possibly to hire you to join the elite Princeton English department? If you don't like balls.

[00:10:09] What's the ball? It's in the description of the job. So she's in a bit, she's having

[00:10:16] a tough time. Eloise thinks that the love, the potential job that they are both in jeopardy,

[00:10:24] things. Except circle. Yes, the square. JK, it's time for the ball answer on the ball.

[00:10:32] Oh, sorry. So in this version of Hollywood squares, it's hosted by Louie Anderson and

[00:10:40] it's family. Great. Yes, it's family. Yeah. Yeah. Woodwatch. Western piece obvious.

[00:10:46] It was time for the ball. She decides, hey, I'm going. She gets dressed up kind of. And

[00:10:55] she gets what? She's offered the job. It doesn't matter if you make balls or not. English department,

[00:10:59] let's do this thing. And then she dances with Sam. Her sister's ex shows up and it's

[00:11:05] like, I hear you like romance. Gets sent on his knee and says, is this romantic enough

[00:11:11] for you? And she says, it is. They're engaged. Sam and Eloise dance. And they kiss. Good

[00:11:19] ones. And now my friends was. We did it. We're going to take a quick break. We're going

[00:11:29] to come back. We're going to break this movie down with four segments here on Deck the

[00:11:50] Dan talking about his recent visit to the barber and his barber said to him, Dan, there's

[00:11:55] something different about you. And Dan said, I look great, right? Barbara said, that's

[00:12:00] not it. It's your hair. He said he's noticed a change in his hair growth pattern. He did

[00:12:05] not want to come on the mic. He's a very busy barber. Dan's a very busy guy. But that is

[00:12:10] a quote from a quote that I heard. And you can believe me and trust me on that. And this

[00:12:14] is because of neutral full. Dan's been using neutral full. We all got it in the office.

[00:13:14] What's up, baby? How you doing? Welcome back to tech. The homework that that was for my

[00:13:21] wife. Unless you are my baby boo. That's not for you. Bug out for the rest of you. What's

[00:13:30] up? Welcome back for the rest of you. Yeah, for the rest of his wife, not my wife. Got

[00:13:35] it. The commoners. Yes. The commoners. That's exactly right. Welcome back. We're talking

[00:13:41] about packaging, Mr. Darcy. We don't need six legs and seven hands stat. It's time for

[00:13:47] Beijing. Mr. Darcy. Four segments. We're starting a hot take. I'm going to start with

[00:13:51] big, hot, small head over here. Black when they shoot the guys head off and it grows back

[00:13:56] and it's really small. Brian is dogs without heads. Dumb and dumb, right? Get it. Brian.

[00:14:04] There it is. What you got? What you think about the school gets the square? Yeah, hot

[00:14:10] take the hottest take. I thought this was pretty good. He's going to make his hot take

[00:14:15] disappear. How is this way? The hat is so big on him that he's literally casting a shadow

[00:14:23] over his head. It's unbelievable. My head's so small. I can't wear hat. I can't wear any

[00:14:28] hats. And spoiler alert, one of my fields has to do with how good people in this movie

[00:14:34] can actually wear hats. Like this works out. This actually makes my point so well for my

[00:14:39] feels that i was so

[00:14:41] … Jealous of how good the hats looked on everybody in this movie. I know where we are but we're here. It's just, there's nothing better that could say it better by, except for showing how terrible I am looking at it. The chemistry was there, the sister was great, the setting was really awesome and I feel like we have a little bit of a leg up in appreciating it because we've done Bramblefest and we've held a con where people come.

[00:15:11] It's a thousand party event planning movies and in this one you've decided and all your

[00:15:17] infinite magical wisdom that we have an inside track on understanding this movie because of

[00:15:24] this specific Jane Austen comments.

[00:15:26] No, not just because it's a conference for a small group of people who want to get together

[00:15:30] and have a good time and we can relate to that as all some sand.

[00:15:33] I just want to be very clear, these are the same size hats.

[00:15:36] I want you to go and file it up to you. The brains are also the same size hats same sizes.

[00:15:42] Now this will be a movie magic.

[00:15:45] Same size.

[00:15:46] So I had a fun time, probably my favorite movie of 2024.

[00:15:49] I mean, there's not a big, what was it up against?

[00:15:53] I have a feeling that February is going to be a tough month for Bran. I think it's going

[00:15:56] to be a tough month for people. The brand stands out there, all three of you are going

[00:16:04] to have an England movie, there's all two of you that are listening because she's listening

[00:16:09] and I can't blame her.

[00:16:12] I don't like this time of my life. I don't like the way it all is. I don't like this

[00:16:29] time of my life.

[00:16:38] I was telling Dan, when I first saw Will Kemp, I said it's going to be an uphill battle

[00:16:42] for me because anytime I see someone in this garb, I immediately don't like it. I don't

[00:16:50] know what it is. I know it's a me thing. I don't like the days of vault. I buy in large

[00:16:56] think it's boring in a waste of time, and it's history. I don't like history. I think

[00:17:04] it's going to be tough for me because I just, something happens in my body where I see somebody

[00:17:17] in this night. Even though it's not in the Gilded Age, in this movie, they're dressed

[00:17:34] like it. I immediately start to get tired. Drool begins to just part from my mouth because

[00:17:43] I'm sleeping and I don't know it. I am so automatically bored by this time period or

[00:17:51] even the sight of it that I just have a tough time. Thought the two leads were fine. Thought

[00:17:59] the sister was delightful by and large. Take it from us. This was this was. That is eating

[00:18:18] your head alive. Just a nose and a microphone. That's all you got. Almost no use in fighting

[00:18:28] back. This has taken over. This was as good as it can be for this, and I didn't like it.

[00:18:40] Man. Unfortunately. It's a good thing. It's such a big nose to hold this thing. I unfortunately

[00:18:50] agree with most everything brand said. I hated this. I don't think the two leads are matched

[00:18:59] very well. I did not think they had much chemistry. I loved, obviously, Will Kemp and

[00:19:06] Mallory Janssen are both more than capable. I just didn't really feel the vibes there.

[00:19:12] The idea that this doctrine and literature with the specialization in Jane Austen is showing

[00:19:18] up for this festival and then just has a hesitation about everything that's going on.

[00:19:23] The fact that we all understand that I will Kemp is like we don't really get enough of

[00:19:31] either of their back stories. I think a lot of this could have been fixed with a couple

[00:19:34] of flashbacks early of young Mallory Janssen, young Will Kemp and how they just didn't

[00:19:40] fit in and they were awkward and then they found a love of these things that helped them

[00:19:43] through a tough time. I think if you had fleshed out the characters in that way instead of

[00:19:47] focusing more on the horrible sister and her horrible boyfriend or trying to tie this

[00:19:54] in any semblance to Jane Austen, I think you have a much better movie, but you didn't

[00:19:58] do that. And so instead, underwhelmed board. I don't know if it's better. Look, the chemistry

[00:20:04] of the twisty Silks movie, better. This movie is in there with the Silks and Betty's bad

[00:20:10] lugging love. I'm sorry. It isn't better. I did not have a fun time. I tried to be optimistic

[00:20:16] because Bran was definitely done from the moment he saw breaches, but I just can't help

[00:20:22] you. It was not very good. I tap out our breaches.

[00:20:24] I can't do anything for me at all. Sorry. I'm a I'm a I'm a I'm a tap our outer. I tap

[00:20:29] out of breaches, breaches, breaches. I can't. And I know what's the mean thing guys. Yeah,

[00:20:36] yeah. I I acknowledge it. Please. Yeah, because here's the thing. The swing is all the way

[00:20:42] over here when it comes to Holly and Jolly. Like I see a Christmas tree and I'm like,

[00:20:48] okay, unless it's the movie from yesterday and then and then you can also swing back with

[00:20:53] too many wreaths, but I it's just there's something about and I don't know if it's going

[00:20:59] getting any better this week. So I'm saying, well, here's the thing is, is that I think

[00:21:02] a lot of people in the Bramble Jam plus chat in the double decker chat, Bramble Jam plus

[00:21:06] .com are upset at us. And I get that. I understand that like I just I'm not really seen. I just

[00:21:12] saw a lot of like, I like this is great. Boo. You're wrong, blah, blah, blah. And I,

[00:21:17] Oh, and what's your camera on Kim? Where's your top hat? You're wearing my top hat, Brian.

[00:21:24] The issue. Um, I have my, I'm curious to be fair, the boo was for Holly from Holly, because

[00:21:34] I vetoed Brian taking his shirt. Oh, okay. I just want a lot of people who were like,

[00:21:39] we should have like this movie more than we did. I saw a lot of comments agreeing with

[00:21:42] you. So, um, I just, I guess for me, there has been enough like an Austin adaptation is

[00:21:50] not something new just because we call it Austin month doesn't mean you can slap a Darcy and

[00:21:54] a breeches on something and it's automatically going to be good television. Of course. And

[00:21:59] I think that is the point is that for

[00:22:02] Aaron Shae, that makes good television. It's, you know, it's like, if something is directed by Chris Nolan, I'm going to be predisposed to like it. It just isn't, that isn't enough for me. It has to be compelling on its own. To me, this wasn't compelling on its own. And it was kind of quite boring, in all honesty. So quite boring, hard out for me. What if for us in month, you get one Jane Austie, you get one stone cold Steve Austin?

[00:22:26] I love that. What if we, what if we divvied it up a lot like that? To represent the rest of the

[00:22:31] Austins? Yeah, that's a good way to do it. I just think from the major movies and write any books.

[00:22:36] Stone Cold? I mean, I mean, his life is a, is a movie. Life's a highway. That's exactly right.

[00:22:42] Let's get to all the fields. Brian, you already told yours, but do it again, I guess. Yeah.

[00:22:46] Mallory Jensen just pulls off a bonnet like no other and all the hats. What's the competition?

[00:22:52] Are there other leading homework actors that have worn a bonnet unsuccessfully?

[00:22:56] I don't know. We don't really see bonnets too often, but she just, I know when she put it on,

[00:23:01] I was surprised that it just looks so natural. And just every hat on every person in this movie

[00:23:06] just made me jealous. It just looks like it was fitted for them. Yeah, like they can wear a hat.

[00:23:11] I wish I could wear a hat like a normal person, you know, like when it's sunny out, you can just

[00:23:15] throw a hat and has a visor. I can't do that. My tiny, like a cute visor, maybe like one of your

[00:23:21] I could wear a look, a little league baseball hat. Yeah, that's embarrassing. You get caught

[00:23:25] with one of those on. So that was it for me, Brian. Well, they make kid. They make

[00:23:29] a little league hats for adults. Do you do they? Yeah, it's not just automatically for kids.

[00:23:36] I think it was supposed to be regular size hats though, like adults. Yeah. He's talking about the

[00:23:42] size. Like literally wearing my kid's hat would fit better than for a little league baseball.

[00:23:46] Got it. I missed. Yeah, we got that. Glad we straighten that out.

[00:23:50] circle gets the square. Yeah, Louis, Louis away. Oh man.

[00:23:56] Oh, my feels I got like Secret Garden feels vertical, vertical horizon need. That'd be pretty

[00:24:05] much vertical hook around just got a little choked up there thinking, Well, was it vertical

[00:24:10] horizon? The secret garden song? There's something like my secret

[00:24:14] is I like everything. Yeah, the idea of dancing in a secret garden is like a

[00:24:21] race romantic in and of itself. So that's for some caution tape up there. Oh, man, if you can

[00:24:26] make it look like a crime scene, give it. Give it to me, Dan. I will say for all the garbage I

[00:24:34] just gave this movie, I did think it was written with a lot of like fun, snappy, like turn of phrase

[00:24:42] dialogue in it. And I thought it did a good job of establishing like some strong female

[00:24:47] characters. It just was boring. So the whoever wrote the script, I bet the original version

[00:24:53] of this script was just phenomenal. Agree. So the little league hats.

[00:24:58] Yeah, different sizes. Well, say you click right over here.

[00:25:03] You're on back. I just feel bad. I'm not I'm not a good enough film critic to put my biases

[00:25:20] aside when it comes biases aside when it comes to, you know, like this type of garb. I should

[00:25:29] be I should be better. But alas, I'm not there's a there's a a Netflix show called bodies.

[00:25:37] And it's a body bodies bodies where in 1890 something 1920 something 1940 something present

[00:25:44] day and in 30 years in the future, the same body dead body appears at the same time. And all of

[00:25:51] these different generations of people have to solve the murder together. It does have a way

[00:25:55] home esque feel a little more graphic than that. But they have a lot of that show takes place in

[00:26:00] the 1800s. And it's phenomenal. I'm on board with things that take place during the era if

[00:26:05] they're done well. I'm not, you know, this one, this was took place in modern day. It just I know,

[00:26:10] I know, I know, I know the scenes where he's in street clothes. I'm not here for as soon

[00:26:17] as he gets out of the breaches, give me well camp and street clothes all day long. And twice on

[00:26:20] Sunday, it's time for the way why it is where we talked about what in this movie made us go

[00:26:24] wait, wait one second. What? Yeah, Brian. Yeah. So Ben Ayers is his resolution to be in every

[00:26:33] movie he's going for a record. He's just think he's there. But I think the thing about that that

[00:26:39] is so bewildering to me is not only is he doing this in all of these movies, but he's giving a

[00:26:45] performance. Yes, he's there. Winking at the camera like it's me Ben Ayers. Yeah, it is very much

[00:26:51] I'm golf guy. Yeah. Or I'm lawyer guy. Yeah. Or I'm whatever like whatever, all the other

[00:26:56] options are you see there is is play and he's really good at it. We only knows how to do one

[00:27:03] thing and it's it's all the way. Yeah, that's right. He knows how to go all the way. And it's

[00:27:07] almost like the less time you give him the more he's like, I have to make sure my character comes

[00:27:12] across. Yeah, I'm only getting this one line. This guy, this character, this no, this character has

[00:27:16] a pass. That's right. You need to know all about it. Yeah, he's so good. Yeah, he's great. I just,

[00:27:22] I can't believe we keep it. It's just funny. Yeah, it's good to see. The Austin professor turned

[00:27:27] down a ride from Mr. Darcy. Like it just that does not that wouldn't happen. Like the Austin

[00:27:33] professor rides with Mr. Darcy every time. All the time you always go with Mr. Darcy. Why would

[00:27:38] you say not like I just just I think she doesn't like dress up. But you put that aside. That's the

[00:27:45] way one of this movie is I'm not saying if you like Jane Austen, you have to like all the stuff

[00:27:49] Jane Austen writes about in her books like for actually participating in them. That's that what

[00:27:53] I'm saying. Yeah. But at one point, Aaron is watching this with us and I said, she's a doctorate in what

[00:27:59] and Aaron says she's a literary professor with a specialty in Jane Austen. Yeah. And it's like,

[00:28:06] okay, you have a specialty in Jane Austen. You're going to a Jane Austen conference. Why in the

[00:28:14] world is it shocking that they sent Jane Austen or they sent Mr. Darcy to pick you up.

[00:28:19] Yeah. My thing is at a very like impressionable age, she was embarrassed in front of all of her

[00:28:26] peers for liking dress up and Jane Austen. Yeah. That would if that had happened to me,

[00:28:32] honestly, it would have impacted me for the rest of my life. And I can love Jane and not want to be

[00:28:37] in public with a man in breaches. Totally get that. He just was not embarrassed. So

[00:28:43] it will count on some show up in breaches at the airport like, like you just thought that off.

[00:28:47] And we're not trying to be clear. She doesn't have to participate in that. Yeah.

[00:28:52] Knowing what she's going to. Yes. Mr. Darcy picking her up at the airport,

[00:28:57] she would just be like, okay, I'm getting in the car now. Exactly. She wouldn't be like,

[00:29:01] I have to dress. She doesn't have to do anything. Oh, she's just getting a car. Yeah. All of a sudden

[00:29:05] she's the center of attention and she in the car. But when he's just staying there,

[00:29:09] everyone's thinking of a bit of a stink drew more attention. That's right.

[00:29:13] Because it didn't turn into a longer thing. Hey, we're hanging around for a long time,

[00:29:16] she's going to. It just doesn't. That part of the movie was so hard for me to

[00:29:21] be clear. Thank you guys.

[00:29:22] have never been teenage girls. And there's no doubt about that. And I think we are fine with

[00:29:28] understanding. Did you flip your cape around? Yes, it's preparing for a wing Wednesday.

[00:29:34] I am preparing for what I'm always preparing for a wing Wednesday in my mind.

[00:29:39] Aaron, I just I I do just want to get you on the record once again. Will will camp breaches

[00:29:49] is urine breaches you're in. Yeah, I mean, if we arrived at comic con and will greeted us

[00:29:56] or not comic on Christmas con either one would want any please talk about comic con in the chat.

[00:30:00] Yeah, it will showed up at the airport to pick us up in that costume with a little sign that said

[00:30:06] deck the hallmark. Man, I would take pictures and be in for that boy. Yeah. So will if you're

[00:30:13] listening, yeah, we're down. We're at my family and his family are hanging out when we go to

[00:30:19] London. So I'll talk it. I'll talk it through. I guess I'm going to lend it to you back with

[00:30:23] you. We'll hold up a sign for you guys. That's true. You guys are hanging out. Yeah, man. We text

[00:30:28] what are you guys doing? I know. He's nice. He's a nice guy. Really nice. If I pushed him on it,

[00:30:36] he probably would be like, yeah, he's invited. We're going to a Willie Wonka tea time,

[00:30:41] try and stop us. What's the exact date and time for other people?

[00:30:47] Take a rough time. The conference. I mean, this happens all time. They just don't conference

[00:30:52] at all the whole time. The security was that a Jane Austen museum or just like a library with

[00:30:58] an exhibit? Do you? I don't remember what exactly that was. Do you know what I'm talking about?

[00:31:03] Yeah, on the outside of the building, it's a Jane Austen correspondence exhibit.

[00:31:07] So when they're at the correspondence exhibit, of course, obviously, the security was aggressive.

[00:31:14] Like that place they lock it. You take off your hat. Oh, absolutely. I'm not walking in there

[00:31:20] with this thing. Like there's just a guy in a security jacket. They're shushing you all over.

[00:31:26] It just felt really aggressive. But you can pick up and touch every single one of those hands on.

[00:31:32] Hands on exhibit. How dare you laugh? The last thing was, I think we all probably picked

[00:31:37] up on this, even though we didn't watch together. Old man winner at the speech, the ball, whatever

[00:31:41] that thing was at the end. He, he was like a mountain man with his little ponytail.

[00:31:46] He's Santa somewhere. He did a thing where he was holding a drink and he had to clap.

[00:31:52] So he went with a little tummy tap as his clap. And that was, I've never seen a ton,

[00:31:59] not what he's like, just like, if I'm holding a drink, I'm just lately, you know,

[00:32:02] he's one of these numbers on the wrist is the thing where I don't clap.

[00:32:06] You remember though, at church, whenever they would have the wireless mics and it'd have to clap

[00:32:11] like this. Oh my gosh. Oh, come on. And that hurts. Up against that four arms aren't meant to be

[00:32:18] slapped. No, everybody knows that. But the tummy taps approach, I mean, he knows what he's doing.

[00:32:23] He was sitting down. He was up. Yeah, he's up, but you can do that fully erect. You can do that.

[00:32:32] I don't know. There's got to be a better way. You can do that while standing. Yes. Yeah,

[00:32:37] you could say it like that. You can do that. You can do that. You can do that.

[00:32:42] That is accurate. Yeah. There's scientifically that. You're not erect. I think we are. If we're

[00:32:48] running. If we're getting scientific about it, I can't say anything nowadays. Well, not like that.

[00:32:53] If you say it like that, we have to talk about it more than anything. So the tummy tap is a good move.

[00:33:01] I'll wreck. How about this one? How about this one?

[00:33:03] What's going on? With that little party on the golf course while the golf course is.

[00:33:09] We have to talk about it. I'm sorry. Nothing. We're like, okay, well,

[00:33:15] imagine you go to a Jane Austen convention, full dumb garb. And you're outside. You're having a

[00:33:23] wonderful tea time, a full dumb garb. And you're drinking tea. You're drinking tea. You're having

[00:33:28] a good time. And you're like, I feel like I'm backing it. And then a golf cart rides by it.

[00:33:34] It's like like nothing's taking you out of that five more than a bunch of golf cart zipping by.

[00:33:39] You are in danger. Yeah. Yeah. You're getting it wet to the head, man.

[00:33:44] You know, there's people that play golf are bad at golf. Yeah, I'm real bad. Tom Brady,

[00:33:48] I lose more balls than I find. I think most people. Yeah, I just, you're going to get hit by a

[00:33:54] golf ball. Like the fact that they have this very nice tea and like long game setup.

[00:34:00] 20 yards from a golf course is just absurd. You can't do that. Real bad.

[00:34:05] Just the balls, you know. Yes, go ahead. Dan, I really appreciate you saying the word golf

[00:34:12] in front of balls that we know. That's right. Yeah. Thank you. Not just any,

[00:34:16] not any sport balls. Thank you. Thank you for your welcome. Like tax like a tax. When I go

[00:34:20] play a game of golf, I know the difference between that and a tennis ball game. That's all it is.

[00:34:23] Game of golf. Yeah. Summer of balls. Golf balls. Summer of golf ball. That's right.

[00:34:27] And I also have the weight what, which is, is this, and then I stopped writing and I did one of

[00:34:31] those. I was wondering about that too. Yes. Is this, is it slow? And I actually just got word

[00:34:35] that it is. Oh, good. Dan I'm horrible with the homework, really. Yeah. So we got to talk

[00:34:40] about the Jane Austen exhibit where the security is tighter than most airports. You can touch

[00:34:45] all of the old books. And then there is a library in there, even though she only wrote six books.

[00:34:52] That that that Jane Austen exhibit makes zero cents whatsoever across the board.

[00:35:00] Zora sense. Zora sense even as much sense as who deserves an exhibit more? Us or Jane Austen?

[00:35:06] How many episodes? Ryan, you said us earlier. 100%. Yeah. We're 1100 deep at this point.

[00:35:12] Overrated? Maybe the most overrated in history, maybe? Of her generation or any

[00:35:17] other generation. Quote, end quote. Yeah. We're already in the podcast museum right next to

[00:35:22] serial. And so I think Laura was just inducted. We could do. I think it's the least we could do.

[00:35:27] Also ridiculous. From the airport, there are no Ubers available within 20 minutes. From the

[00:35:36] airport. Yeah. Sorry. Not sorry. She hands her sister a Mansfield Park flavored ice cream.

[00:35:43] Did this festival have? Custom ice cream. Custom ice cream. That's a great idea, isn't it?

[00:35:49] I mean, and it's hooker for everyone. Ice cream. Like she said, it's Rocky Road.

[00:35:53] She said it Mansfield Chunk and Rocky Road, but they changed it. Like she said that the ice cream

[00:35:58] is actually changed. It's from the 1800s. She said that's what it's called. Yeah, I just assumed

[00:36:03] they bought ice cream and like really? Oh, no, I like I was under there. I didn't assume Jala was

[00:36:09] I was getting more work than just having somebody make you an ice cream. Like having some company

[00:36:13] make you an ice cream. Um, can you get your own ice cream made? Yeah, just like, I know a guy.

[00:36:19] I think I know Mark Summers, isn't it? Mark Summers, a friend of Mark Summers.

[00:36:25] Um, a friend of my friend is Mark Summers. Yes, of course. Yeah.

[00:36:29] And maybe he'll be here from one day. Maybe?

[00:36:30] So we'll get to school. Yeah, I think when this movie get rock bottom to me was when she gets

[00:36:38] upset at the fake kiss during the play version of Pride and Prejudice.

[00:36:43] That was like the loaf, like of all the times to use the worst possible misunderstanding

[00:36:49] of all time.

[00:36:50] I think this movie where you have someone, you know, Mallory Jesus' character is written

[00:36:55] as very, very smart, very independent, very like, like just gifted in a lot of ways.

[00:37:02] And for her to know her sister her whole life and to know that that kiss isn't happening,

[00:37:09] I just I don't get it.

[00:37:11] Are you okay?

[00:37:12] It's just no way to sit with my back.

[00:37:17] I was just kind of like laughing to myself.

[00:37:19] You look like the world's smallest breaking bad fan.

[00:37:24] Hello, Heisenberg.

[00:37:30] You're making rock candy.

[00:37:32] Crystal clear.

[00:37:34] Jokes just don't stop.

[00:37:37] Thought we'd run out by now.

[00:37:38] Yeah.

[00:37:39] It's time for all the Hallmark.

[00:37:41] I have a wait what real quick.

[00:37:43] Turn your camera off.

[00:37:45] Yeah.

[00:37:46] My wait what is that we get a cooking/baking montage, one of Brian's favorite things.

[00:37:52] And we get Will Kemp making a whisk pun and Brian Harrell did not get it.

[00:37:57] I didn't.

[00:37:58] I don't remember.

[00:37:59] So that's my wait what is Brian.

[00:38:00] What's wrong with you?

[00:38:01] So much.

[00:38:02] I'm embarrassed by that.

[00:38:03] I'm embarrassed.

[00:38:04] I wish you weren't even here.

[00:38:06] Walking on eggshells around you.

[00:38:10] Nope.

[00:38:11] Okay.

[00:38:12] All right.

[00:38:13] Yoke was funny.

[00:38:15] Oh, he wrote that for the audience.

[00:38:18] Oh, man.

[00:38:19] Oh, get what anybody say.

[00:38:20] It's so funny.

[00:38:21] It's just over here dead pan.

[00:38:28] That's incredible.

[00:38:29] Excellent even.

[00:38:30] No man.

[00:38:31] Let's get to the wall.

[00:38:32] The Hallmark.

[00:38:33] Sorry.

[00:38:34] I wonder what could have been.

[00:38:35] No, no.

[00:38:36] Right.

[00:38:37] What are you still wondering about buddy?

[00:38:38] Yeah.

[00:38:39] I came out to the lawn party.

[00:38:41] What kind of 19th century edibles did she find before she headed out because she came

[00:38:48] out on cloud nine and more.

[00:38:51] She was bouncing off the walls.

[00:38:53] She had.

[00:38:54] I saw cloud nine and more.

[00:38:56] She was on something and maybe maybe yeah, he could have been one of the early batches.

[00:39:03] I just wish we knew what she was doing there.

[00:39:07] Here's my question.

[00:39:09] All that I go to Austin cons.

[00:39:12] Stone Cold or mainly Jane in this case or the city Jane Austin conventions.

[00:39:18] Do you are there people to you like how can like how committed is the most committed person

[00:39:23] because we didn't see a lot of people that were like always in character like like Will

[00:39:27] Kemp was like do you think that there's some people that aren't taken the stare of the elevator.

[00:39:32] They're only taken stairs like how committed is the most committed person at this thing.

[00:39:37] Probably the stairs thing is the most committed that somebody yet.

[00:39:40] What if she got in the elevator and she's doing the whole good buying is like well clearly

[00:39:44] this wasn't meant to be.

[00:39:47] Mine was very similar to that because I feel like Will Kemp dresses in you know the garb

[00:39:54] and then we it doesn't garb we established that she like doesn't want any part of that

[00:40:01] because of something embarrassing happened in her past and then we have someone designing

[00:40:05] a costume and goes to great lengths to tell you that it won't look the way it would have

[00:40:10] looked back then and then no one else there's not a lot of effort put forth in that regard.

[00:40:16] It's like that one scene where the costume designer comes in and goes it's not going

[00:40:20] to look the way it should look and she's kind of winking at the camera like you're just not

[00:40:23] going to see that all movie we didn't have time for it's just not important and so just

[00:40:29] act like people care about Jane Austin in this movie as much as you do watching at home and

[00:40:34] it was this wink wink that we all just needed to get over so we wouldn't have to deal with

[00:40:37] the budget of finding those clothes and I just it didn't jive with me at all he didn't

[00:40:42] really make any sense.

[00:40:46] Who said that someone said I clearly have not been to a Renfair.

[00:40:49] Michelle said that.

[00:40:50] Yeah.

[00:40:51] Got to be nice.

[00:40:52] Let's have my guess.

[00:40:53] I don't even know.

[00:40:54] Aaron has been in a room camera and I think we all knew Aaron.

[00:40:58] You can't be all new.

[00:40:59] Goes with us.

[00:41:00] Everything in this room had gone to a Renfair and raise your hand up there off camera.

[00:41:06] What do you have to say for this.

[00:41:07] Yeah.

[00:41:08] I had a great time with you again 10 out of 10.

[00:41:11] Would you use the stairs and lieu of elevator?

[00:41:14] No, I think all all the meals with your hands.

[00:41:17] Yeah, I had a tricky leg.

[00:41:20] But if there was an elevator.

[00:41:21] It's outside.

[00:41:22] I'm just saying.

[00:41:23] Imagine.

[00:41:24] Maybe this one's not.

[00:41:27] If there was an elevator.

[00:41:28] What would you do?

[00:41:29] What would you handle it?

[00:41:30] How many floors am I going up?

[00:41:32] Six.

[00:41:33] Elevator.

[00:41:34] Wow.

[00:41:35] Five.

[00:41:36] Probably.

[00:41:37] Elevator.

[00:41:38] Four.

[00:41:39] Elevator.

[00:41:40] Maybe stairs.

[00:41:41] Four is maybe there.

[00:41:42] I think she's taking this.

[00:41:43] Oh, yeah.

[00:41:44] I mean, I live on the second floor.

[00:41:45] I take the stairs every day in my apartment.

[00:41:47] I never use the elevator.

[00:41:49] And friendly boy out there.

[00:41:51] I don't remember the elevator.

[00:41:52] And I'm going to be back tomorrow.
