[00:00:02] Hi, I'm Brian and I love Hallmark Movies I'm Dan and I despise Hallmark Movies And I'm Rob Buckley and I enjoy making and watching Hallmark Movies And this is the Deck The Hallmark Podcast Deck The Hallmark, it's this podcast And friends host this podcast We hope you like this jolly podcast Yeah, here we go

[00:00:32] Oh boy Bob, you're running late You're running a little bit late here So we gotta get right to it So what were you gonna say? Wow, absolutely wild That you would just come at me right off the bat I was about to compliment you because I believe that was your voice In the theme song, is it not? It was and I was gonna ask you beforehand You weren't running late, you were timely We did 15 minutes of pure gold With Bob Buckley, Bob Buck as we call him Around the studio And literally none of it was recorded Pure gold

[00:01:01] You talked about your love of theme songs And how they've kind of gone downhill How does that theme song kind of rank in your You know, your list of top theme songs? Uh, worse than Golden Girls Better than Friends Oh! Okay, wow! Better than I like that Better than the Rembrandts Man I'll take that I'll take that Bob Buckley It's great to have you on the show As you know We talked a little bit about this as well But we call you Bob Buckley And we asked your permission

[00:01:34] We called you by Bob Buck Bob Buck Yeah, Bob Buck No, a lot of my friends from back home Call me Buck Yeah That's nice And I don't think anyone's called me Bob yet No So I think But you're all the first to do Bob Buck Is your middle name out on the internet? It is Okay So when I say Robert Earl Buckley The fourth Esquire attorney

[00:02:03] Don't mind me as I slowly strip in front of you Yeah Esquire No, keep going Lick your lips, Bran Lick your lips Are you part of the British Royals? Robert Earl Buckley? Is that a real name? When I was When I first became an actor And I was about to join SAG I thought Oh, there's a lot of people Who have to change their names Because someone else has already Joined the union with that name And I thought Ooh Well then Do I just go Robert Earl?

[00:02:32] Because that's kind of a cool name too That's strong It's a very strong name But Robert Buckley was fine So Didn't have to cross that bridge That's right Where'd your name come from? Did your Does it have My mother and father, Bran Yeah, that's a great question, Bran This is why we interview people Is because This is why I came It's those hard-hitting Questions like that, man You just got the Pulitzer right now Where'd you get your name, you dummy? God The listeners need to know We've been riffing for 16 minutes

[00:03:02] That's exactly right Before the record button was touched And I want you to know Here's my problem I burn real bright, guys I am a great guest For about 20 to 22 minutes Yeah And then it peters out fast Yeah So we're gonna have about Six minutes of content Before things are about to get Real slow and dull And who do you Who do you wanna blame for this? Who do you wanna blame for this? I don't wanna point fingers There in the producer But also Guys No, she's doing great She's doing great She's doing great We

[00:03:31] Bob Buck and I became best friends Yes We both simultaneously said The best TV theme song of all time Which don't say it out loud Because we're gonna bring him on For the diss list Family matters Oh, wow So, yeah So we We're gonna bring Bob Buck has already committed To the diss list Which is crazy We haven't even started That podcast yet So it's coming It's a big day And we do have him here Do you wanna ask him any questions That aren't our names made? Should we just spend The entire interview Talking about Recapping the 16 minutes That we spoke Before the interview

[00:04:00] We could There was some good stuff Just make references To inside jokes That the audience isn't You know In on Because we weren't recording I mean anything It was really good So you have parents We found that out And they did name you What were you like As a child? You came to the world They named you Bob Buck And then This is tough God, Bobby This is tough I'm so sorry I'm so sorry Had you finished your question yet? No Yeah, go ahead

[00:04:30] Where are you from too? Like where were you Born and raised And when did you get Into the whole acting gig? This all feels Highly Googleable Gentlemen No, I'm kidding I was born in Claremont, California It's a small town About 40 miles east Did you boo? That's crazy Somebody Somebody booed We have an audience I mean, to be fair I snored During Brant's question So I think the boo Was entirely appropriate That's right That's where I was born And raised

[00:05:00] How did I get into acting? The short version is I took an acting class My last semester in college I majored in econ So I thought My roommates and I thought Let's take intro to acting That'll be easy And it was Talk about a snoozer You majored in economics? Oh, you want a snoozer, friend? Here was my first job Economic litigation consultant Oh my god Oh no Did you nod off halfway through that? Did you Were you reading

[00:05:27] Like spreadsheet docs Of just numbers To try to find proof Of something for a lawyer? Was that the basic idea Of the job? No, I wish I wish Listen, so a lawyer Goes into a case And they have the Qualitative argument Which they tell That's just like Their words in the story, right? And then they have The quantitative side Which is all of the statistics And data that back up Their story Yeah We were the number ninjas Brought in To create like a model And to basically show like Hey, we're nerds

[00:05:57] We've done the math This guy's telling the truth Did you call yourself Number ninjas To help you sleep at night? I wish it was that cool It was It was so bad It was one of the Hard This is the truth, right? So I did well in school My whole life I always worked really hard And I Called my mom On day two Of that job From my cubicle And was like I made a huge mistake Full Joe Bluth Completely Yeah I made a big mistake I made a huge mistake And then

[00:06:26] I remember sitting At my desk And I had this Sinking feeling Where I I actually thought Like I worked so hard My whole life And I Like in school And I got the brass ring Like Gosh, that dates me Like I did the thing I did the thing And And this is it Like this is the reward This sucks Yeah Yeah So I was immediately Unhappy And it makes sense That my tenure Only lasted a year and a half But there are people Doing that now Every day You woke up this morning

[00:06:56] Four cent check From one tree hill You didn't do anything That's for sure I didn't do a thing That's right I didn't do a thing Man That's awesome Can you give me the quick rundown Micro macro I taught economics For a few years But you never asked me Not once I want to hear from Bob Bob Okay, go ahead Bob So macro So macro would be Sort of Like a larger scale picture So like An industry as a whole Right Like let's say Like Like the corrugated Cardboard industry Which is surprisingly Actually an industry Right Micro would be

[00:07:26] Sort of more On Like a smaller level Like let's say Like the actual Business level Like one unique business He said 22 minutes And he was not lying That was But that's you That's your question That was my fault So you did one You did one semester Of one theater class You were an economic Number ninja For a year and a half And you were like F this noise I gotta go Be an actor

[00:07:55] Close Yeah I loved the class And I remember The teacher said Listen if this is something That you like It's worth you Just like Go to LA Give it a shot Like she wasn't like You're the greatest thing Since sliced bread Nothing But she She just sort of Like soft sell Soft sold me And planted a seed And then I was Utterly miserable At my job And I was So miserable That I met a woman At my cousin's wedding Who was like What do you do And I said I'm an economic And she went

[00:08:27] And I woke her back up And I said Litigation consultant She didn't fall asleep But this is true And she said You're wasting your time You should be acting Or modeling And I was so Desperate for any Sort of change In my life That I just went Yeah Great Strange woman Who I don't know What do I do And she was like Get some photos taken I have a friend Who works at an agency And so Like the woman I replaced at that firm Had left to become A photographer She showed up To the company parking lot After work one day Took pictures of me In the parking lot

[00:08:57] Including some shirtless ones So you know My colleagues were like What is this dude up to Just another Tuesday With Bob Buck Yep And that's how I got A modeling agent And a commercial agent And got my start Well I didn't want to Like I have to You made it a year and a half Doing that Yeah So like You had to be the odd man Out there right Like I Dan and I Have a face for I was just sitting there Going it's a good thing He knows numbers Because he looks And he's a real logo This guy So I'm glad Someone called you out And went Hey man

[00:09:26] You know You're in the wrong field You're doing it wrong Yeah Yeah They hired two candidates My year right This firm hired two candidates It was me And this gal From Caltech Who was a double major In mathematics And computer science Sheesh And so genuinely I looked around the office And I thought Did they have Like just a random White guy quota to fill Yeah Like why And the only way I could reconcile It was the inverse DEI

[00:09:56] It was the inverse I The I think it's just because I I I I I I I'm a good talker I have a gift of gab And I think I was just I talked well I was sort of I sort of That was it Like I I sort of presented A good version of myself A good case I also You know like It doesn't matter I think what they did was They were like Alright That gal's gonna be the one Who constructs the hardcore Analytical models And that guy Is gonna be the one Who presents it to the client Yeah Like she can be the brains He can be the mouth A number

[00:10:26] Okay well I'd word it a different way Mouth Yeah It doesn't sound above board So you go to LA Headshots Modeling agent Talent agent You found Find success first Modeling or acting No I I never found like Success modeling I mean I did some jobs But My first commercial I booked Because They're They They had actually Already booked the role I was an hour and a half late Because of traffic And they felt bad for me

[00:10:55] So they saw me I didn't know the role Had already been booked And it was for Ross Dress for less Nice Do you have that? Yeah we got those We got a Ross or two around here So I like how I say Dress for less Like it's part of the name That would be like If I went I ate it Everyone does Everyone does As well Yeah Everyone does I just ate at McDonald's I'm loving it Anyways I do the The audition was like A guy knocking at the door It's nothing And they go Hey For the callback We're doing this other thing Can you dance so bad You make us laugh And I

[00:11:24] I just went Turn on the music And I just Freestyle bad dance For like 45 seconds And I booked it in the room And they were like That was horrific And hilarious Great And that's how I got my Sad guard Wow There you go And from then Straight into a Win a killer calls A 3.8 star rating On IMDB So Big time Listen I think You know My friends and family Are probably responsible For at least 1.5 Of those stars So

[00:11:54] It's more of a Two star movie That's That one's rough How many commercials And stuff did you do Before you get Win a killer calls Oh Listen You didn't need to have A resume to get Win a killer calls Yeah I didn't think so I didn't think so I think I showed up To the audition And I spoke English And they were like Great This guy can do it When Do you have a Memorably bad audition Like one for the books Yeah I have a few I have I have two Really bad ones One was bad Because of the material And one was bad Because of me

[00:12:23] There was a horror film That has since Came out Yeah When a killer calls It's called When a killer calls Shut up Brian Quit beating me No It's called It was called Shrooms And I had to Perform the scene Mind you At the I do it At the audition And then at the Callback Which was probably A room of six people I don't need to get into it But basically I had to Simulate a sex act And then I had to Start crying And scream And get murdered You had to do

[00:12:53] All of that In a callback Yeah Also mind you I'm just in the Middle of a room With like six strangers Watching me Have to do a very Intimate thing And then turn on a dime And be like Don't kill me Don't kill me And cry And they had me Do like three takes That was when I later Did the therapy That was terrible Let's cue that clip up No we don't have it We got the clip Aaron can you roll The clip please Yeah We So you get in the car After that one And do you do like A full exhale Just like a full Like Like what Like That's crazy

[00:13:23] I get in the car And I go How bad Was economic litigation And then I wake up And I go No it's not This is still better The one that was Truly memorably bad Was Thor Oh Oh wow I went in For Thor And I did a thing You went in For the lead Thor Like to be Thor Don't sound surprised Dan Don't say it like that The blonde headed Like Norse Viking guy Thor Oh my gosh Don't sound so surprised

[00:13:52] Can you imagine Featuring Bob Buck As Thor Yes I can If you squint Loki You could be Loki Yeah If you squint You can see it Were you really Going for Thor I'm about to Knock this microphone Over and storm Back into my living room That's what I'm about To do Yeah I did Okay And listen Listen Your little Snider marks Were also happening In my head At the time Which is what Led this to be Such a horrible Thing I was thinking In my head I'm like

[00:14:26] You know Like when I auditioned For Captain America I was like I could see myself Doing Like being Captain America You auditioned For Captain America I did But I was I could see that I was on One Tree Hill At the time though And They Apparently They weren't Looking at anyone Or considering Anyone who was On a show Because it was Going to be Obviously as we Know now Such a big thing I tell myself That so I don't Just assume I'd had a bad Audition Anyways Thor right I don't have My head in the game I'm already Going and going Like

[00:14:55] Why Oh man Okay And what happens With a lot of These big budget Movies right Is that they Don't actually Give you Sides of material Pages of script From the movie Itself Right Because it's Top secret So they will Give you scenes From different Movies right And one of The scenes And I can't This is such A pet peeve Of mine Is when they Have the actor Doing Activity Like he's Assembling a gun While fighting Off a ninja It's like I'm gonna be In a room

[00:15:25] By myself So you don't Want to see me Doing this Like punching The air Or like kissing Passionately I'm like It's just me Again guys It's gonna Look weird This scene Was a terrible Speech While sword Fighting several Invaders From the bad Dimension Or something And I So I had judged The heck out of The material I thought it Was so dumb And I made The fatal mistake Of not fully Committing Oh no And the only Thing that looks Worse than Fully committing To a bad Choice is

[00:15:54] Partially committing To no choice And I go in There and Unfortunately I'd Never read for This casting Director Also don't Think I have Since so Probably not A coincidence And she And she Had two Casting Associates Who were Like gals My age And attractive So now I'm I'm like I'm myself Going I don't Want to look Dumb in front Of them Like oh They seem I don't Want to look Like an Idiot So I Proceed to Do the First scene They're like Okay great Thanks and It comes time For the sword Fighting scene

[00:16:26] And I actually Say hey listen I'm not going To do the sword Fighting thing That just Looks ridiculous Me fighting In the air Okay I'm Just going To do the Lines And I Saw the Casting Director Kind of Just go Okay And I Did it It was one Of those Thanks Rob You just Decided It's a big Marvel movie This is stupid But Bob What did you Do an accent For Thor And can I Hear said Accent now No why would

[00:16:55] Thor have An accent Because he Has an accent Dan No No the Accent's not From Asgard It's from Australia Yeah But like It's Thor He's like The god Of I'm actually With Bob On this one He's the god Of thunder You can't Just be like Sure you can Hey I'm Bob Buck You have an Accent Like even Chris Hemsworth Does a Like a Very big He doesn't Talk like he Normally does For that role Well cause he's An Aussie It would sound Ridiculous So you think He had to Sound American

[00:17:25] From Asgard That I think That's generally Accepted as The like Standard accent For superheroes Okay Alright So you just Went in With your accent And you said I'm not doing The sword fighting Listen I think it was Already bad enough That I didn't Commit to sword Fighting Dan You don't need To be throwing More on me With the accent Listen They will tell you Ahead of time We'd like an accent For this And thank god There was none Cause I would have Been doubly screwed Oh my god

[00:18:02] Now I will say No You did win a killer Calls And we're not Gonna talk about it Anymore No let's not Thor was in 2011 He did do the Legend of Hell's Gate An American Conspiracy That year Same Same Same amount By the way Can I just point out I love you Reading off your phone While we're doing The level of prep Dan That you have put Into this Is just staggering How many interviews Have you had That brought up When a killer calls And legend of Hell's Gate Bob You're the first And I wish

[00:18:31] It hadn't happened But it didn't take you long Do you want to bring up Some early childhood trauma To while we're at it Fellas I didn't even say Lipstick jungle You were on 20 episodes Of that That's great That's right That's a legitimate production That's exactly right It didn't take you long Though to get something Something going there You did Fashion House 70 episodes That had to feel pretty good You go in there After Win a Killer Calls And you go in there And you do Fashion House 70 episodes That had to feel pretty good It was great And it was the best

[00:19:00] Training ground For a new actor Because They We shot 65 or 70 episodes Before the first one even aired Wow It was essentially a nighttime soap Right Yeah And we shot anywhere from 15 to 25 pages a day And we block shot Which meant We would shoot out An entire location Like for the whole series And then move to a different one And that means each day You do half of your day With the cameras all set Pointing one way And then at lunch The crew flips everything

[00:19:29] And you do all of the scenes Shooting the other way Which means You'll be shooting a scene From episode 2 38 12 51 65 And 7 Good god And you have to So like You have to remember All of your stuff All of the arc And I remember On the very first day We were shooting My character's location first The first AD said to me It was like Right before we started He went Hey If you can make it Through this job The rest of your crew Will be a cakewalk Wow And

[00:19:58] And he was right Because I've never had to do That kind of page count I've never had to work In such a fast paced thing It was I'm And I'm so grateful Because I didn't know better Yeah You know Yeah Whereas like If I did that now I would just be like This is This is so terrible I don't want to do this Well I will say this You have Seven different television programs Where you appeared in At least a dozen episodes each So Series regular Or recurring role

[00:20:28] Whichever you want to call it Seven different television programs Over the last Including Chesapeake Shores Over the last What is that Since Fashion So over the last Like 18, 19 years You're in the hundreds Of episodes of TV It clearly is a wheelhouse For you When you shift gears To a Hallmark movie Which is 15 days And it's quick It's seven, eight pages a day Does that still feel like Slow motion After all the TV you've done? I would say that Actually Hallmark movies

[00:20:58] Are kind of similar to TV TV's pretty much about Six to nine pages a day Which is I mean Listen The Hallmark shooting schedule Is ambitious I mean you're shooting An entire feature In 15 days So You are going to have Ten and a half page days But it's It's It's never Too much You know And They're taking their time Enough that I've never felt like Oh I can't keep up with this Yeah That's fair One Tree Hill You're on there

[00:21:28] Almost 60 episodes In Wilmington, North Carolina So close to our neck of the woods That's right How did you enjoy being East Coast and Southern For a while? I enjoyed it quite a bit I did not care for the humidity In the summer I am a professional sweater So In the summers It was just brutal shooting Because Like they'd have me In a suit outside And It would Just Every single take They'd be like We need to reset Rob's shirt Be like Scoring sweat You know But

[00:21:57] But it was great I like the south Who doesn't like the south? That's all I'm saying I think some people Don't like the south I think that's a fair thing to say What is 666 Park Avenue? It has something to do With the devil, right? You were in 13 episodes What is it? Can you pitch it to me? It was a show About an apartment building That was Essentially I think Kind of like The devil Was the Landlord Yeah Love that Yeah And Yeah Spooky things happened I love that

[00:22:27] It's a really good sale And then you get involved In iZombie Yeah People love iZombie Major Major Lily White From iZombie And I mean You got Rob Thomas It's a fun procedural It also has a very unique Crashbox 20? No Different Rob Thomas Got us Yeah No he did do a guest star Yeah Yeah On that one Incredible So you get that role And that's on for several years And like My question is this Because I know

[00:22:57] My wife's a huge iZombie fan I know One Tree Hill fans are crazy Which fans are more rabid Or do you get recognized For more When you're just on an On an airplane or somewhere Is it iZombie Or is it One Tree Hill? It's It's a pretty even split In terms of Being recognized I would say One Tree Hill has more reach Because it's been around longer It's definitely more international I would say Which fan group is more Like Passionate One Tree Hill Yeah

[00:23:26] Yeah Yeah I almost asked that question Then I realized I knew the answer already And so I asked the one Where would you get recognized more What is the Thing on your IMDb That you're hoping We don't bring up Oh you've already brought All of them up guys Yeah That's good Yeah That's good Boy I sure am hoping You don't bring up this movie I have coming out on Saturday Well we'll see how we We'll see We'll see how we get there Let's talk a little bit about Hallmark There's a movie in 2008 Called Flirting with 40 We didn't bring that up That's pretty good

[00:23:55] You play Kyle Hamilton In Flirting with 40 So that may be worth a watch It's on Prime Video For everybody Go ahead Brayne Let's talk Hallmark How did you kind of get Into the Hallmark space After you know The whole Thor debacle And what not I hear I'm sure They caught wind of it A decade later Give this guy a break For not bringing an accent To the audition They caught wind of it But Hallmark Hallmark still said Let's give him a shot Let's see what he can do How did all that work out? They were casting a role For a guy Who

[00:24:24] Was a terrible dancer And it was a staunch In staunch opposition To sword fighting And they said It's just hard to find That kind of guy In Hollywood And then they heard About my Thor audition Yeah of course Yeah yeah And that was how I got Love and Store Which funny enough I had to awkward dance in Wow To don't go break In my heart We've seen it We've seen it Bob We've seen the movie We've seen Every Hallmark movie That you've ever been in

[00:24:53] You've seen the dance moves And guys That's a fun one To dance to For four hours straight In this In this This one It's coming up That let's be sure To not talk about No I'm kidding An unexpected Valentine I do more dancing It just seems that They enjoy watching me Flail around That's right This one's to Love Shaq Which I will say Is a big improvement Over don't go break In my heart Yeah Love Shaq Okay So the same year

[00:25:21] As Love and Store You do the Christmas house Which is Kind of the forefront Of what we call New Hallmark Around here It is Very very different Than what we watched For three straight Years doing this podcast We have multiple Storylines We have a same Sex couple This was a In 2020 I think Wedding Every Weekend Was the first movie To really have A same sex kiss This movie Was like Continuing to break Those barriers down At the time That you're doing That movie

[00:25:52] Absolute Incredible cast Treat Williams Rest in peace Obviously Jonathan Bennett Bob Buck Plenty more At the time You're doing That Did you Understand How big Of this A deal This was For Hallmark Or were you Just like Oh sweet Another Hallmark Dick No Also Sharon Lawrence And Anna Iora Are the other Two Leads Of course Sharon Lawrence National treasure Well Actually So Do you I mean again Just the amount

[00:26:21] Of homework You did on me Before this interview Is just It's inspiring Right And you have Raised the bar Exponentially Higher Than our IMDb There for Everybody And you can Read while You're doing The interview Gang Yeah Well Had you Scrolled Just a little Farther down My IMDb You'd see That I was Also Part of the Writing And executive Producing Of that movie Because that Movie is actually Based on a Childhood tradition Of mine I'd have had To click On Christmas House I'd have To click On it No You don't Have to Click on it Just scroll Harder down

[00:26:51] I stuck in The actors Section Damn it Dan Yeah I know I mean it's Just a bare Man You know Now I see Why Aaron Didn't push The record Button I came I clicked It To be Is like The sword Fighting For instance In the Audition I was Like this Can't Possibly Come up Right Like let's Stick to

[00:27:21] The acting Stuff And that's What I did And so That's On me And I Appreciate That you Brought up The legend Of Hell's Gate And when A killer Calls Rather than The creation Of a movie That was very Important to Myself And the Hallmark Network I just Love that I got to Both of them You found Out you Guys had Me coming In a few Days ago And you Thought You know What should I do Some homework On Rob And then You went You know I have A nickname For him That should Be good Enough But now I'm Interested You have Piqued my

[00:27:51] Interest Because it Does sound Like something That I Would do Myself Which is This crazy Christmas House So this Was something That you Did as a Kid And then Decided This is A great Idea Maybe After doing One Hallmark Movie You were Like this Is Going to I was Doing Love And Store And The Onset Producer I Happened To Mention That We had This Tradition When I Was a Kid Where we Would Literally Remove All of The Furniture From our House The day After Halloween

[00:28:20] We Had a Storage Unit Packed Full Of Christmas Stuff Claremont California Shout out Shout out Shout out 909 And We Would Work Every Single Day And We Would Try To Be Done By Thanksgiving And The House Would Be Transformed Into Wall To Wall Christmas So Much So That Local Elementary Schools Took Field Trips To Our House And We Were Actually Known In

[00:28:56] And Lori For No And They Were Like That's Actually Interesting So We Had Lunch I Told Them About They Were Like We To Pitch Us That Having Never Pitched A Movie So I Went Home I Wrote A One Sheet Came In Pitched It

[00:29:26] So When I Went In To Pitch It I I I Was That Really Pissed Me Off And I Remember Thinking Okay So I I I'm Going To Switch Some Things Up So I Went In And I Said Listen It's A Movie It's About My Family It's About This Tradition My Brother's Gay He's Married We Are Going To Shoot Them And Show Them Like Every Other Couple In The Movie And They're Not Going To Be In The Background We're Going To See Them Kiss We're Going To See Them Hold Hands Expecting Well I I Just Figured If

[00:30:18] Bottomless Yeah And And That's How It Started So It Was It Was Awesome That They Were Super On Board And They Kept Saying They're Like Don't Make A Like I Don't

[00:30:48] Have Interest In Doing A Movie With No Humor So If I Want To Do This I Also Want There To Be Like A Good Amount Of Levity And Humor And They're Like Great Let's Do It And I I Didn't Know What A Big Deal It Was Going To Be I Just It Was Important And It Should Happened Decades sooner So If I Had The Opportunity To Be The One To Switch That Up That I Was Going To Take It That's Pretty Incredible And I'll Just Say How Amazing That It Like We Look At That Moment That

[00:31:18] Day In Hallmark History And We Go That Was An Unfortunate Moment But It To Make A Change And To Be An Ally

[00:32:04] And Be In Terms Of Pacing And Tone Not Messaging Obviously Like That Because None Of That Changed But I Felt Like We Just Really Found Our Stride Into That So That One Was That One Was Great Because It Got To Be A lot Lighter And Funnier Are You Pitching A third Right Now We Pitching Christmas House Three We So I Didn't Want To Do A Third Unless We Actually Had A Really Good Story That's What They Don't Have Money And Then They Go And Pitch It True

[00:32:34] But We Actually Came Up With A Story That Was A Really Cool Way Of Is Awesome And Well Deserved For Sure I I Want To Talk About

[00:33:03] Something Else That I Totally Forgot So I Have Our Perfunctory Chesapeake Shores Question We We We You Have You You Brought

[00:33:33] Nothing To The Table You Did No Homework You Did No Educating Yourself And You You You You You You Tell Me About It I I The Zombie Checks In The Mail Bob I Earn My Every Five Years You

[00:34:03] Show To The Birthday Party With Like Five Dollars And A Card That You Got At The Gas Station You're Like Oh My Gosh No I Don't Know Go Watch Chesapeake Shores It's About A Family It's Beautifully Shot It Does Get Slow At Times And But It Picks Up I When I Got The Job I Yeah No That's All I'll Say Yeah Okay Let I Remember What I Was Going To Say It Was Christmas House

[00:34:33] Related Have You Seen The Great Christmas Light Fight And Except Ours Was Entirely Interior But That's An Interesting Angle So I Mean Yeah That Would Have Been Great Because

[00:35:09] I And Our House Had Nothing But Christmas Lights But Then You Go Inside And It's Like A Life Size Animatronic Santa 30 Trees Trains I

[00:36:14] Truly It's Like Is That Delivery That's DiGiorno No It's Not It's DiGiorno That's Incredible In The Last Ten Months In April Blind Date Book Club Was Released Blind Day Book Club It's

[00:42:46] She She She know anything about him all right uh so you got these three is there anything since you did three in a year is there anything can we go ahead and make some news here what are we what are we doing next for hallmark or otherwise well i i pitched a movie to them a while back that uh that got greenlit recently so we'll be going into um the writing of that actually any day now wow which

[00:43:13] is which is very exciting is it another family story that you sold or no my character's parents are dead as hell man now we're talking about it yeah hey listen they don't i don't call myself the bad boy a hallmark for nothing you know what i mean i'll kill a parent no i'm kidding don't clip that let's cut and clip that i'll kill a parent that's at 45 20 45 20 and we had 15 minutes

[00:43:42] before that man we really this guy this guy gets it i love it listen this has easily been my favorite three-hour interview it's been really good it flies by it flies by it does let's do this rapid fire let's rapid fire we're gonna ask you three questions and it can be about anything this time and you have to answer it and you can answer it as quick as you want to or as slow as you want to it's up to you

[00:44:01] totally i will allow it all right your favorite movie theater experience uh as a child uh as a child oof like almost no memories from my child the only wow my parents took me to see good morning vietnam when i was way too young

[00:44:29] man it's been a lot of therapy in my 30s and 40s how about that wow nothing says rapid fire like dan just reading his phone while i'm answering yeah just empty pauses of air while he just scrolls i uh i have some other things going on oh my gosh it's not true it's not true it's funny to say it's all right it's all you hey what

[00:44:54] you're listening to these days bud oh my god is that honestly question number two but we each get three so it's question number one for me so i still got so it's six questions six questions total i got duped uh what am i listening to he's not gonna donate to itself oh my gosh are you donating a million dollars because at this point i feel like anything less has just been a waste it's a dollar oh boy what am i listening man i don't know i don't listen to music very much um it's a lot of

[00:45:23] podcasts and well you can drop a podcast that's listening it was any any any sort of listening during the football season it's kind of wall-to-wall football what team do you pull like fantasy fantasy football oh yeah i don't really i don't i'm a big fantasy football player too how'd you do this year uh dynasty uh runner-up i was i'm in the dynasty league so we've been in the same league for 10 years and i i was runner-up um made a trade it was not a great trade for the

[00:45:52] future of my team but i thought it was going to help me win now uh yeah and uh and it was the trade it bit me um i got i acquired christian mccaffrey uh and cooper cup wow and deontay johnson wow oh boy yeah and i gave away i gave away brock bowers now here's the thing you need to know before you laugh at me bob buck because i've been in the playoffs every year of this thing and

[00:46:16] i've won it a few times i had on my team trey mcbride and johnny smith and tucker craft so giving away brock bowers made sense it made sense for a win now move and it did but it just didn't work out for me it was a in retrospect not a great point at what point in the season did you make the trade week 10 right but when mccaffrey came back he came back week 10 deadline was week 11 he had the game where he had 20 touches i was like he's back let me go ahead and pull the trigger here

[00:46:44] made perfect sense and then you know the rest yeah it's a gamble that's not that's not that bad also by the way are you kidding brand with the sarcastic clapping what place did you get brand that's right he can't he doesn't no one no one asked no no he we played before he stopped five weeks in bob bob hasn't asked me bob can i be in your fantasy league next year you don't oh shoot it's all full yeah it's all full it's all full that's exactly right who do you fantasy with podcast it's

[00:47:10] a 10 team league and we have nine teams but i just yeah there's no way good fit this year bob buck it was disheartening guys i i got like fifth i played three leagues i think i got like fifth fifth and seventh there's not a single spot in any of the three leagues that's right yeah it's just it feels like the fit might not be great we already have a guy with a beard yeah that's fair the elbow

[00:47:37] kind of weirded me out i don't know when they talk about the hollywood elite stuff this is what they're talking about liberal left i identify as a hollywood coastal elite so i don't know why you're saying that to me like i'm surprised good for you good for you who's your team do you have a team you pull for you pull for the rams or somebody no no those don't care no i don't as soon as this fantasy season was over i haven't even like really paid attention i would have loved to actually commanders i would have loved to see the commander to see them make it happen too and i will say i kind

[00:48:04] of root for anyone playing against the chiefs because i'm just sort of tired of them that's fair yeah uh again but if one opens or if you want to do a fourth we could do a fourth league we could do a fourth league listen i'm not opposed to it i'm a i told myself i might be done after this year but the truth is i know draft time's gonna come around i'm gonna be itching to draft i know an addict when i see one yeah we could do i told us i would be done but fourth league

[00:48:29] it could be me you i'm in we could go dan mario lopez probably mario lopez me and mario andrew walker used to he was college do you know the andrew walker had a college football scholarship uh robert buckley did you know that yeah for boston college not for just anybody for like a d1 what position did he play he was wide receiver i believe or defensive back one of the two and then he messed up his acl true story yeah stayed in canada became an actor well if you could

[00:48:53] do your research on andrew walker yeah a little bit just one solitary shred of is it my turn it is your second one fill in the blank gummy bears bouncing here and there and everywhere high adventure that's beyond compare nailed it nice job buddy that's really that's really nice um you go into a candy store and you can fill your bag full of any candy what's your go-tos

[00:49:21] well uh i'm diabetic and if you had done your homework man oh that's tough i'm gonna do a quick what's your my last question is what's your insulin level right now i'm just kidding it's not it's not no and i'm kidding i'm not i'm not i'm not diabetic um just felt like right to point that out again oh my gosh brother um i googled is robert buckley diabetic and the ai overview

[00:49:45] throw me on the camera right now aaron yes robert buckley died from complications of diabetes is this how i find out it's what it says on the ai picture yeah it's not great it's not your best picture yes dude you're one on imdb your picture on imdb you look fantastic i don't know why do you sound surprised dan i'm not what i'd wait i was trying to give you a compliment but you said it like you

[00:50:42] from complications okay to be fair if you had read one sentence down it says explanation robert j buckley a teacher and businessman died in 1997 from complications but you gave me a scare there if this by the way if this was the way that the afterlife started i would be so underwhelmed yeah you'd be in hell now this is interesting robert this is something to look look into robert j buckley who was a businessman teacher he died of diabetes at the age of 62 robert t buckley a man from california

[00:51:37] three and a half years old he is what is the song or show that he's watching that is driving you up the wall right now oh my gosh i mean all the kids songs right they drive you i wake up to pee at three in the morning and i'm humming you know monkeys on the bed or wheels on the bus i'm just like come on man yeah yeah yeah yeah there's a there's the latest one is um room on the broom room class okay you know

[00:52:02] okay well it's been a favorite and so it's it's on in the car all the time and i it haunts me yeah i don't know this one how's it's a it's a halloween story okay you can also listen to where a witch uh her broom breaks because she keeps letting people ride on the broom and then they all these animals that are riding for some reason a frog in the bog is riding in the and there's a fish that's riding somehow and they all have to help her save the day against a dragon i would just like

[00:52:29] to point out that you with such rich detail and imagery described the entire story of witch on a broom room on a broom and you didn't have any nothing any information on a single project of mine yeah should say something about my priorities if our kids knew who you were though yeah that's true that's true would have level with me how many awards a year do you guys win uh 20 so many 30 so many

[00:52:57] awards we win we i mean like the pulitzers like it's just lost count they're up behind the wall back there yeah two bodies yeah i bet you guys yeah it's pretty big sweep uh journalism oh okay i have the i have the last question um okay you me we're gonna sign up for big brother nope we're gonna sign up for we're gonna sign up for on the one with the amazing amazing race how do you think that we would do what would be what would you bring to this question and then what would i bring to the group

[00:53:21] knowing what you know about me i think we do well you think so yeah well listen i will yes not knowing how what kind of a traveler you are not good you would do much better with me on that program but i'd make you laugh more that's true yeah well that's the thing it's it depends if like we're doing this for charity then and the stakes are lower i'm i'm okay with a lot of giggles you know i don't maybe i don't need a trophy and i feel like we would just have a good time laughing though

[00:53:50] but if you're a grumpy traveler and we're playing for money like it might it might it might get five foods he only eats five foods oh you're like a child what are your five foods what are your children yeah it's probably similar fried chicken potatoes something between two buns and sweets that is it those are the five things he eats he's not disagreeable how about what what is your liquid
