[00:00:55] [SPEAKER_03]: It's great to be here today
[00:00:57] [SPEAKER_03]: Another mystery
[00:00:59] [SPEAKER_03]: One that we've been asking for
[00:01:01] [SPEAKER_03]: A sequel for
[00:01:03] [SPEAKER_03]: It seems like ages
[00:01:04] [SPEAKER_03]: Feels like two years
[00:01:05] [SPEAKER_03]: It was last year wasn't it?
[00:01:07] [SPEAKER_03]: It could have been before COVID
[00:01:08] [SPEAKER_03]: At this point I don't even know
[00:01:10] [SPEAKER_04]: It's been forever
[00:01:12] [SPEAKER_04]: I found out at the Emmys last Sunday
[00:01:14] [SPEAKER_04]: I wasn't there, don't worry
[00:01:15] [SPEAKER_04]: That Modern Family was over
[00:01:19] [SPEAKER_04]: I thought you were going to ask for sure
[00:01:21] [SPEAKER_04]: Modern Family was still running new episodes when COVID started
[00:01:24] [SPEAKER_04]: Can you believe that?
[00:01:25] [SPEAKER_04]: I just like, I can't get over that
[00:01:28] [SPEAKER_04]: I thought for sure Modern Family was done
[00:01:30] [SPEAKER_04]: A couple years before then
[00:01:32] [SPEAKER_04]: Turns out still running new episodes
[00:01:34] [SPEAKER_04]: That's right
[00:01:35] [SPEAKER_04]: Crazy town
[00:01:36] [SPEAKER_03]: This could have aired at any time
[00:01:39] [SPEAKER_03]: I'm excited
[00:01:41] [SPEAKER_03]: Brian you were just telling me
[00:01:44] [SPEAKER_03]: About how you were beginning to plan
[00:01:47] [SPEAKER_03]: On some new holiday traditions
[00:01:50] [SPEAKER_03]: That you're thinking about
[00:01:50] [SPEAKER_04]: Almost exactly a year and a half ago
[00:01:52] [SPEAKER_04]: Which in Hallmark world is
[00:01:54] [SPEAKER_04]: An eternity
[00:01:56] [SPEAKER_03]: You were telling me you have some traditions
[00:01:58] [SPEAKER_03]: That you're kicking around the old nog
[00:02:01] [SPEAKER_03]: What are those?
[00:02:03] [SPEAKER_05]: In addition to the regular
[00:02:05] [SPEAKER_05]: Making egg nog
[00:02:07] [SPEAKER_05]: Fresh egg nog
[00:02:09] [SPEAKER_05]: Obviously sangria, the fudge
[00:02:11] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah the fudge
[00:02:14] [SPEAKER_05]: Marathon fudge
[00:02:15] [SPEAKER_05]: Marathon fudge hits different
[00:02:18] [SPEAKER_05]: Should we do it?
[00:02:19] [SPEAKER_05]: Should we have fudge at the marathon?
[00:02:20] [SPEAKER_05]: You should make fudge
[00:02:22] [SPEAKER_03]: But you do have to bake
[00:02:24] [SPEAKER_05]: You bake it
[00:02:25] [SPEAKER_05]: With the mint in there
[00:02:26] [SPEAKER_04]: Didn't you do some with the mint in there?
[00:02:29] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh man
[00:02:30] [SPEAKER_03]: Medicinal mint
[00:02:31] [SPEAKER_03]: It will cure everything
[00:02:35] [SPEAKER_05]: Oh mint
[00:02:37] [SPEAKER_03]: My bad
[00:02:39] [SPEAKER_03]: But aside from that
[00:02:41] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah
[00:02:44] [SPEAKER_05]: There were a few new things
[00:02:46] [SPEAKER_05]: That I was thinking about trying
[00:02:49] [SPEAKER_05]: What I was trying to say
[00:02:51] [SPEAKER_04]: Why is this so tough for you Brian?
[00:02:53] [SPEAKER_04]: Earlier
[00:02:53] [SPEAKER_05]: You couldn't stop talking about it
[00:02:55] [SPEAKER_05]: I don't want to give them away
[00:02:57] [SPEAKER_05]: Why would anyone want to give them away?
[00:03:00] [SPEAKER_04]: You came in this morning like you had done
[00:03:02] [SPEAKER_04]: 3 or 4 rails of coke
[00:03:03] [SPEAKER_04]: You were so excited about these new traditions
[00:03:05] [SPEAKER_03]: That's one of them, thanks for giving it away
[00:03:07] [SPEAKER_03]: You shared with us 5
[00:03:09] [SPEAKER_03]: Just share one of them
[00:03:12] [SPEAKER_05]: So karaoke
[00:03:13] [SPEAKER_05]: Christmas karaoke
[00:03:14] [SPEAKER_05]: Where we go to the neighbors house
[00:03:17] [SPEAKER_05]: That's caroling
[00:03:18] [SPEAKER_05]: This is different
[00:03:20] [SPEAKER_03]: It's Christmas karaoke
[00:03:23] [SPEAKER_03]: Do you do it inside the neighbors house?
[00:03:26] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah you go in
[00:03:26] [SPEAKER_03]: You bring the sound
[00:03:28] [SPEAKER_03]: It's a Christmas party
[00:03:29] [SPEAKER_04]: You sit on the couch and wait until it's your turn
[00:03:32] [SPEAKER_04]: Your new tradition is showing up at a neighbors house
[00:03:35] [SPEAKER_04]: And doing Christmas karaoke
[00:03:37] [SPEAKER_05]: You go on in, you sit on the couch
[00:03:38] [SPEAKER_05]: Wait until it's your turn
[00:03:41] [SPEAKER_04]: Great, that's a good one buddy
[00:03:43] [SPEAKER_05]: Now somebody's going to steal it
[00:03:45] [SPEAKER_05]: Thanks a lot
[00:03:45] [SPEAKER_03]: Why do you care if someone steals it?
[00:03:49] [SPEAKER_03]: It's a Christmas tradition
[00:03:50] [SPEAKER_04]: You think if someone has a Christmas tradition
[00:03:53] [SPEAKER_04]: And someone else steals it, they can't do it anymore?
[00:03:55] [SPEAKER_04]: What if I did exactly what Brandon did
[00:03:58] [SPEAKER_04]: On the outside of my house
[00:03:59] [SPEAKER_04]: What if I waited for him to put his up
[00:04:01] [SPEAKER_04]: And I just took a picture
[00:04:03] [SPEAKER_03]: And paid somebody to recreate it
[00:04:05] [SPEAKER_03]: Exactly
[00:04:06] [SPEAKER_03]: Well first of all it would be really difficult
[00:04:08] [SPEAKER_03]: Because our houses are structured differently
[00:04:10] [SPEAKER_03]: But secondly I would love it
[00:04:12] [SPEAKER_03]: That's my boy
[00:04:15] [SPEAKER_03]: I've been asking you to decorate your house
[00:04:17] [SPEAKER_03]: For years now
[00:04:18] [SPEAKER_03]: But if I came in
[00:04:19] [SPEAKER_04]: Listen, I've said it before
[00:04:21] [SPEAKER_04]: People are out there listening with money
[00:04:23] [SPEAKER_04]: There are billionaires listening maybe
[00:04:24] [SPEAKER_04]: If you want to pay to take down the trees
[00:04:28] [SPEAKER_04]: There's a line of trees
[00:04:29] [SPEAKER_04]: In between my house and Bran's house
[00:04:32] [SPEAKER_04]: It'll cost you $3,000
[00:04:33] [SPEAKER_04]: Bran I want to pay for it, I don't want to pay for it
[00:04:36] [SPEAKER_04]: I think that's fair for both of us
[00:04:37] [SPEAKER_03]: We're in a bit of a battle
[00:04:39] [SPEAKER_04]: If you want to pay to take down those trees
[00:04:42] [SPEAKER_04]: I will work with Bran on us doing
[00:04:44] [SPEAKER_04]: A joint costume
[00:04:46] [SPEAKER_04]: A joint decoration
[00:04:49] [SPEAKER_04]: Halloween is on the table
[00:04:50] [SPEAKER_04]: A joint decoration for Christmas
[00:04:52] [SPEAKER_04]: We can do a full thing, I don't care
[00:04:54] [SPEAKER_04]: Because I'll have those trees going and that would be awesome
[00:04:57] [SPEAKER_03]: We will do a joint
[00:04:58] [SPEAKER_03]: We will do a joint costume
[00:04:59] [SPEAKER_03]: Of your choosing
[00:05:02] [SPEAKER_03]: Dominic the donkey on the head
[00:05:04] [SPEAKER_03]: The latest Halloween
[00:05:06] [SPEAKER_03]: We were talking about it with
[00:05:08] [SPEAKER_03]: Jax last week about Halloween
[00:05:10] [SPEAKER_03]: And the costumes and stuff
[00:05:11] [SPEAKER_03]: The latest rumors is
[00:05:13] [SPEAKER_03]: My kids might be
[00:05:15] [SPEAKER_03]: Minions and I might be Gru
[00:05:17] [SPEAKER_04]: That's a pretty good one
[00:05:18] [SPEAKER_04]: My kids think they're going to be X-Men
[00:05:22] [SPEAKER_04]: Because J
[00:05:23] [SPEAKER_04]: One of my two kids who is Bane
[00:05:25] [SPEAKER_04]: This year already decided we have the costume
[00:05:27] [SPEAKER_04]: Locked in
[00:05:28] [SPEAKER_04]: And then Rey is going to be Wolverine
[00:05:33] [SPEAKER_04]: He's sitting on the couch
[00:05:34] [SPEAKER_04]: And he just goes
[00:05:35] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm going to have to be by myself when we trick or treat
[00:05:37] [SPEAKER_04]: I was like why
[00:05:39] [SPEAKER_04]: Because Rey, Grizz, and Gab
[00:05:41] [SPEAKER_04]: Are all going to be X-Men and I'm going to be Bane
[00:05:43] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm in Gotham City, I'm not with them
[00:05:46] [SPEAKER_04]: Dad
[00:05:47] [SPEAKER_04]: I can't argue with the logic but we're all going to trick or treat
[00:05:50] [SPEAKER_04]: Together anyway
[00:05:51] [SPEAKER_03]: And also
[00:05:53] [SPEAKER_03]: Things could change over at the Greyhouse
[00:05:55] [SPEAKER_03]: A lot still up in the air, things aren't decided yet
[00:05:57] [SPEAKER_03]: There's lots of scuttlebutt, lots of arguments
[00:06:00] [SPEAKER_04]: When do they have to have it locked in so you can buy the costumes
[00:06:02] [SPEAKER_04]: What do you think?
[00:06:03] [SPEAKER_04]: Second week of October?
[00:06:05] [SPEAKER_03]: Come to turn of the calendar
[00:06:07] [SPEAKER_03]: Turn of the calendar
[00:06:09] [SPEAKER_03]: I live and die by the calendar
[00:06:11] [SPEAKER_03]: You're a big calendar boy
[00:06:12] [SPEAKER_04]: That's why you came in and looked at the calendar and you're like oh it is hump day
[00:06:15] [SPEAKER_03]: What are your boys doing?
[00:06:18] [SPEAKER_03]: Have they started talking about it yet?
[00:06:19] [SPEAKER_05]: Jonah the youngest is doing a stick glow
[00:06:22] [SPEAKER_05]: A glow suit
[00:06:23] [SPEAKER_05]: Oh those are fun
[00:06:24] [SPEAKER_03]: But the only problem with that is you gotta wait until it's dark to trick or treat
[00:06:28] [SPEAKER_03]: I don't want to be part of that
[00:06:30] [SPEAKER_05]: No, I want to be done before it gets dark
[00:06:31] [SPEAKER_05]: That's the whole thing
[00:06:32] [SPEAKER_05]: And Ethan, I don't know, we haven't figured that out quite yet
[00:06:36] [SPEAKER_05]: Does Ethan not care as much?
[00:06:37] [SPEAKER_05]: I don't think he does about the costume
[00:06:40] [SPEAKER_05]: He'll do whatever
[00:06:41] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, basically, yeah
[00:06:43] [SPEAKER_05]: I get that
[00:06:44] [SPEAKER_05]: You want to just put a hook on your hand like I did?
[00:06:46] [SPEAKER_04]: We have to stop. My kids are not allowed to talk about their Halloween costumes in June and July
[00:06:51] [SPEAKER_04]: Because it gets crazy competitive
[00:06:53] [SPEAKER_04]: They start arguing
[00:06:55] [SPEAKER_04]: They start complaining
[00:06:56] [SPEAKER_04]: They change their mind every day
[00:06:58] [SPEAKER_03]: God forbid they start singing about it at the table
[00:07:00] [SPEAKER_04]: I just am like no
[00:07:02] [SPEAKER_04]: Absolutely not
[00:07:03] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, you get it
[00:07:09] [SPEAKER_03]: Let's talk about the cases of Mystery Lane
[00:07:11] [SPEAKER_03]: If we have to
[00:07:12] [SPEAKER_03]: Death is listening
[00:07:14] [SPEAKER_03]: So listen up
[00:07:15] [SPEAKER_03]: Good one
[00:07:17] [SPEAKER_03]: Because here's what happened
[00:07:20] [SPEAKER_04]: Nobody's gonna drink on that one
[00:07:21] [SPEAKER_04]: Brian, hit me with a little more of those traditions real quick
[00:07:23] [SPEAKER_04]: You don't have to explain it, just hit me right now
[00:07:25] [SPEAKER_05]: I'm gonna do a roof of my house
[00:07:28] [SPEAKER_05]: I'm gonna get one of those
[00:07:30] [SPEAKER_05]: Those things
[00:07:32] [SPEAKER_05]: Zip line
[00:07:33] [SPEAKER_05]: Straight down into the tree
[00:07:36] [SPEAKER_05]: And knock it down, Christmas tree
[00:07:38] [SPEAKER_05]: That's how I'm picking the Christmas tree
[00:07:39] [SPEAKER_04]: I have a ton of questions but we have to get going
[00:07:42] [SPEAKER_04]: We'll talk about it later
[00:07:43] [SPEAKER_04]: We're gonna see how we're doing
[00:07:45] [SPEAKER_04]: You have to saw that thing a lot
[00:07:47] [SPEAKER_04]: 90% saw it
[00:07:50] [SPEAKER_04]: How big do you think you are?
[00:07:52] [SPEAKER_04]: How big do you think that is the tree in your yard at Christmas?
[00:07:54] [SPEAKER_04]: You got a Frazier fir growing in your front yard?
[00:07:56] [SPEAKER_05]: No, I gotta go find one
[00:07:57] [SPEAKER_05]: So you're gonna zip line all the way to the tree?
[00:08:00] [SPEAKER_04]: You're gonna buy the tree, set it up, zip line and knock it down
[00:08:03] [SPEAKER_05]: No, I'm gonna go find a tree
[00:08:04] [SPEAKER_05]: Say that looks nice
[00:08:05] [SPEAKER_05]: Zip line all the way to it
[00:08:06] [SPEAKER_05]: Build it straight to it
[00:08:09] [SPEAKER_03]: What you could do is
[00:08:11] [SPEAKER_03]: You could go and get the tree
[00:08:14] [SPEAKER_03]: And bring it back to your house
[00:08:16] [SPEAKER_03]: Put it in the yard and then do it
[00:08:18] [SPEAKER_04]: That's exactly what
[00:08:19] [SPEAKER_04]: His version is a long zip line
[00:08:22] [SPEAKER_04]: A lot could go wrong
[00:08:23] [SPEAKER_04]: This is what happens with me
[00:08:24] [SPEAKER_03]: This is why we brainstormed
[00:08:27] [SPEAKER_03]: It's not a bad idea
[00:08:32] [SPEAKER_03]: In 1994 this woman is running away from this dude in a hood
[00:08:36] [SPEAKER_03]: She gets to a building
[00:08:37] [SPEAKER_03]: She's messing around with her keys
[00:08:39] [SPEAKER_03]: She drops the keys
[00:08:39] [SPEAKER_03]: She gets shot
[00:08:40] [SPEAKER_03]: The killer
[00:08:43] [SPEAKER_03]: The killer leaves a note
[00:08:45] [SPEAKER_03]: On her
[00:08:47] [SPEAKER_03]: Aided on her
[00:08:48] [SPEAKER_03]: Cut to modern day
[00:08:50] [SPEAKER_03]: Birdie and Alden are listening to a true crime podcast
[00:08:54] [SPEAKER_03]: About that very murder
[00:08:55] [SPEAKER_03]: The Roxdale murderer
[00:09:00] [SPEAKER_03]: What is love?
[00:09:03] [SPEAKER_04]: Baby don't hurt me
[00:09:04] [SPEAKER_04]: And it's Roxdale killer right?
[00:09:05] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah what did I say?
[00:09:06] [SPEAKER_04]: Roxdale murderer
[00:09:08] [SPEAKER_04]: TRK
[00:09:09] [SPEAKER_03]: Or as I call the real killer
[00:09:10] [SPEAKER_03]: The real killer
[00:09:11] [SPEAKER_03]: Thank you Dan
[00:09:14] [SPEAKER_03]: TRL
[00:09:15] [SPEAKER_03]: It was Carson Daly
[00:09:17] [SPEAKER_03]: Total request murderer
[00:09:19] [SPEAKER_03]: It is
[00:09:21] [SPEAKER_03]: Their favorite podcast
[00:09:23] [SPEAKER_04]: I would do a Carson Daly invitation
[00:09:25] [SPEAKER_04]: But it would just be me talking a little lower
[00:09:26] [SPEAKER_03]: People at home wouldn't be able to tell the difference
[00:09:29] [SPEAKER_03]: For all they know
[00:09:30] [SPEAKER_04]: Carson Daly is the third host on this show
[00:09:33] [SPEAKER_04]: That was Lynn Biscuit
[00:09:34] [SPEAKER_03]: That was crazy
[00:09:37] [SPEAKER_03]: This is their favorite podcast
[00:09:40] [SPEAKER_03]: That's Dan
[00:09:41] [SPEAKER_03]: Doing Carson Daly
[00:09:42] [SPEAKER_03]: That was really good
[00:09:45] [SPEAKER_03]: That was really good
[00:09:46] [SPEAKER_03]: That's not bad
[00:09:48] [SPEAKER_03]: It's like I'm right here in the room
[00:09:50] [SPEAKER_03]: It's unbelievable
[00:09:51] [SPEAKER_03]: It is
[00:09:55] [SPEAKER_03]: It's their favorite podcast
[00:09:55] [SPEAKER_03]: They absolutely love the host
[00:09:57] [SPEAKER_03]: Laurel St. James Rebecca's sister
[00:09:59] [SPEAKER_03]: And the next day
[00:10:01] [SPEAKER_03]: Birdie bumps into her high school
[00:10:05] [SPEAKER_03]: Her high school friend slash rival
[00:10:08] [SPEAKER_03]: Christian Duckburn
[00:10:09] [SPEAKER_03]: Man that bird
[00:10:10] [SPEAKER_03]: That duck up burn
[00:10:12] [SPEAKER_03]: And they agree to go
[00:10:14] [SPEAKER_03]: Get together
[00:10:15] [SPEAKER_03]: You can bring Alden I'll bring my boyfriend Tom
[00:10:17] [SPEAKER_03]: They go over to Kristen's house
[00:10:20] [SPEAKER_03]: And Alden starts poking around
[00:10:22] [SPEAKER_03]: Leaving his bottle caps
[00:10:24] [SPEAKER_03]: Places that they don't belong
[00:10:25] [SPEAKER_03]: And finds
[00:10:28] [SPEAKER_03]: That she is a book publisher
[00:10:30] [SPEAKER_03]: And one of the books that she has published
[00:10:32] [SPEAKER_03]: Is one
[00:10:34] [SPEAKER_03]: By Laurel St. James
[00:10:35] [SPEAKER_03]: They are shocked to find this out
[00:10:38] [SPEAKER_03]: And is like hey
[00:10:39] [SPEAKER_03]: If you want to meet her I could probably
[00:10:42] [SPEAKER_03]: They can't believe it
[00:10:43] [SPEAKER_03]: They also can't believe that her boyfriend
[00:10:46] [SPEAKER_03]: Is Tom the air quotes guy
[00:10:48] [SPEAKER_03]: From the first movie
[00:10:49] [SPEAKER_03]: I remembered him right away
[00:10:51] [SPEAKER_03]: I didn't need a refresher
[00:10:53] [SPEAKER_03]: Listen I remember things from a year and a half ago
[00:10:55] [SPEAKER_03]: Everyone knows it about me
[00:10:57] [SPEAKER_03]: I never
[00:10:58] [SPEAKER_03]: Locked in
[00:11:01] [SPEAKER_03]: But all of a sudden
[00:11:04] [SPEAKER_03]: When everything's done
[00:11:06] [SPEAKER_02]: When everything's
[00:11:07] [SPEAKER_03]: Done and accounted for
[00:11:09] [SPEAKER_03]: It actually ends up being a good night
[00:11:11] [SPEAKER_03]: Cut to Laurel St. James
[00:11:13] [SPEAKER_03]: She's walking into her podcast studio
[00:11:15] [SPEAKER_03]: Along with other people that are working there
[00:11:17] [SPEAKER_03]: And it's clear that some people
[00:11:19] [SPEAKER_03]: Don't love Laurel St. James
[00:11:22] [SPEAKER_03]: Some things
[00:11:23] [SPEAKER_03]: That she's annoying
[00:11:25] [SPEAKER_03]: And mean some things that
[00:11:27] [SPEAKER_03]: She's old and I'm better
[00:11:28] [SPEAKER_03]: Some things
[00:11:29] [SPEAKER_03]: Some things
[00:11:32] [SPEAKER_03]: So she is recording her
[00:11:35] [SPEAKER_03]: What she says is her final episode
[00:11:36] [SPEAKER_03]: Of her series Whodunit
[00:11:39] [SPEAKER_03]: But uh oh a guy comes in
[00:11:41] [SPEAKER_03]: And shoots her
[00:11:42] [SPEAKER_03]: They leave a note on her signed
[00:11:43] [SPEAKER_03]: T.R.L.
[00:11:46] [SPEAKER_03]: T.R.K.
[00:11:47] [SPEAKER_05]: That was not this guy
[00:11:49] [SPEAKER_03]: The Roxdale killer is back
[00:11:52] [SPEAKER_03]: Gunshot
[00:11:53] [SPEAKER_03]: You dead
[00:11:55] [SPEAKER_03]: In other news
[00:11:56] [SPEAKER_03]: Dan quiet down
[00:11:57] [SPEAKER_03]: It's unbelievable
[00:12:02] [SPEAKER_03]: In other news
[00:12:04] [SPEAKER_03]: There's a mouse in the house
[00:12:06] [SPEAKER_03]: And Alden is committed to catching that mouse
[00:12:09] [SPEAKER_03]: He doesn't want to get a
[00:12:11] [SPEAKER_03]: He wants to protect the house
[00:12:12] [SPEAKER_03]: This house is mine
[00:12:13] [SPEAKER_03]: They are shocked to find out that Air Quotes
[00:12:16] [SPEAKER_03]: Wants Tom and Bertie to help with this case
[00:12:19] [SPEAKER_03]: Because all the people that work at the studio
[00:12:21] [SPEAKER_03]: Are uh
[00:12:23] [SPEAKER_03]: Different
[00:12:25] [SPEAKER_03]: Tom just doesn't understand them
[00:12:27] [SPEAKER_03]: And so maybe let's get
[00:12:28] [SPEAKER_03]: The weirdos over there
[00:12:30] [SPEAKER_03]: Let's get some weird not professionals in
[00:12:32] [SPEAKER_04]: To help with this situation
[00:12:34] [SPEAKER_03]: That's what cops do right
[00:12:35] [SPEAKER_03]: My understanding
[00:12:36] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't know the things about this person
[00:12:38] [SPEAKER_04]: Let me go find somebody off the street
[00:12:41] [SPEAKER_04]: They'll get it for us
[00:12:42] [SPEAKER_03]: I'd hope that if there was a podcast
[00:12:45] [SPEAKER_03]: Case out there someone would come and call us
[00:12:47] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah if that's how that works
[00:12:49] [SPEAKER_03]: I think they would
[00:12:51] [SPEAKER_03]: Greenville PD call us
[00:12:53] [SPEAKER_03]: Talk to us
[00:12:54] [SPEAKER_03]: So they begin to check out
[00:12:57] [SPEAKER_03]: The raw audio from the recording session
[00:12:59] [SPEAKER_03]: Uh uh uh
[00:13:01] [SPEAKER_03]: Weird
[00:13:03] [SPEAKER_03]: It's very long
[00:13:04] [SPEAKER_03]: A lot of it is very boring and tedious
[00:13:06] [SPEAKER_03]: But they do get to the part
[00:13:07] [SPEAKER_03]: After doing you know
[00:13:08] [SPEAKER_03]: Where does this sound like
[00:13:10] [SPEAKER_03]: They find the part where she ends up getting killed
[00:13:13] [SPEAKER_03]: And um
[00:13:15] [SPEAKER_03]: They have this audio
[00:13:16] [SPEAKER_03]: And there's a weird sound after it
[00:13:18] [SPEAKER_03]: At first they think maybe it's an inhaler
[00:13:22] [SPEAKER_03]: But then they're like
[00:13:23] [SPEAKER_03]: It's not
[00:13:26] [SPEAKER_03]: They make the murder board
[00:13:27] [SPEAKER_03]: And they have a lot of folks that could be
[00:13:29] [SPEAKER_03]: The killer
[00:13:30] [SPEAKER_03]: But they discover two things
[00:13:31] [SPEAKER_03]: One, Laurel basically made up the serial killer
[00:13:35] [SPEAKER_03]: To boost her career
[00:13:37] [SPEAKER_03]: And it works
[00:13:37] [SPEAKER_03]: But two, Laurel was dying
[00:13:41] [SPEAKER_03]: And so if the killer didn't kill her
[00:13:43] [SPEAKER_03]: She would have died
[00:13:45] [SPEAKER_03]: She would have died anyways
[00:13:46] [SPEAKER_03]: So another podcaster named Katie
[00:13:49] [SPEAKER_03]: Claims that she also saw the killer
[00:13:51] [SPEAKER_03]: And uh
[00:13:53] [SPEAKER_03]: She is in the true crime space
[00:13:55] [SPEAKER_03]: As well she's kind of an up and comer
[00:13:56] [SPEAKER_03]: So there's like motive there
[00:13:58] [SPEAKER_03]: Like hey if I can kill her
[00:14:00] [SPEAKER_03]: Then maybe my podcast will take off or whatever
[00:14:02] [SPEAKER_03]: So when they're listening to the audio
[00:14:04] [SPEAKER_03]: They hear
[00:14:05] [SPEAKER_03]: They go back and listen to the audio again
[00:14:07] [SPEAKER_03]: And there's another part earlier
[00:14:09] [SPEAKER_03]: Where she says
[00:14:12] [SPEAKER_03]: Thank you Katie
[00:14:13] [SPEAKER_03]: And that's Katie's name
[00:14:15] [SPEAKER_03]: So uh
[00:14:17] [SPEAKER_03]: Say no more
[00:14:18] [SPEAKER_03]: That's all they need
[00:14:20] [SPEAKER_03]: Put her in jail for life
[00:14:22] [SPEAKER_03]: Put her in jail for life
[00:14:23] [SPEAKER_03]: Exactly right
[00:14:24] [SPEAKER_03]: They go and they arrest her
[00:14:25] [SPEAKER_03]: And she's like I didn't do it
[00:14:26] [SPEAKER_03]: And this doesn't feel right to Alden
[00:14:28] [SPEAKER_03]: Something still feels a little bit off
[00:14:30] [SPEAKER_03]: And what they notice is in the audio
[00:14:33] [SPEAKER_03]: Of thanks Katie
[00:14:35] [SPEAKER_03]: There's that same sound
[00:14:37] [SPEAKER_03]: Like a squeak or something
[00:14:39] [SPEAKER_03]: What is that
[00:14:40] [SPEAKER_03]: It's so crazy
[00:14:41] [SPEAKER_03]: And so they go over to Airquote
[00:14:44] [SPEAKER_03]: And Kristen's
[00:14:46] [SPEAKER_03]: Or they come over
[00:14:47] [SPEAKER_03]: They're together to celebrate
[00:14:49] [SPEAKER_03]: And it all clicks in for Alden
[00:14:52] [SPEAKER_03]: Kristen is KD
[00:14:54] [SPEAKER_03]: Kristen Duxworth or whatever her name is
[00:14:57] [SPEAKER_03]: Duckburn
[00:14:57] [SPEAKER_03]: Is KD
[00:14:59] [SPEAKER_03]: When they were over and he found the book
[00:15:02] [SPEAKER_03]: She saw that it was written to KD
[00:15:05] [SPEAKER_03]: And so it's not Katie
[00:15:07] [SPEAKER_03]: It's KD
[00:15:08] [SPEAKER_03]: And he's like
[00:15:11] [SPEAKER_03]: I think this is what's happening
[00:15:12] [SPEAKER_03]: He just says it in front of everybody
[00:15:14] [SPEAKER_03]: And she pulls the gun
[00:15:16] [SPEAKER_03]: From Tom's holster
[00:15:17] [SPEAKER_03]: And just admits to everything
[00:15:19] [SPEAKER_03]: 100% I did do it
[00:15:21] [SPEAKER_03]: Here's why
[00:15:22] [SPEAKER_03]: When Laurel found out
[00:15:25] [SPEAKER_03]: That she was dying
[00:15:26] [SPEAKER_03]: She tried to make amends with everybody
[00:15:28] [SPEAKER_03]: And she told KD that she
[00:15:32] [SPEAKER_03]: Sorry Kristen
[00:15:33] [SPEAKER_03]: KD I call her KD too
[00:15:35] [SPEAKER_03]: I started saying
[00:15:36] [SPEAKER_03]: That she's going to tell the truth on the podcast
[00:15:39] [SPEAKER_03]: About lying about the killer
[00:15:40] [SPEAKER_03]: And she realizes
[00:15:42] [SPEAKER_03]: That that's going to be bad for her career
[00:15:44] [SPEAKER_03]: Because as a publisher you published
[00:15:46] [SPEAKER_03]: A false story and said that it's true
[00:15:49] [SPEAKER_03]: That's not going to be good
[00:15:49] [SPEAKER_03]: So she went in there
[00:15:52] [SPEAKER_03]: Killed her
[00:15:53] [SPEAKER_03]: Framed it on the Rockdale killer
[00:15:55] [SPEAKER_03]: So that it would boost the story even more
[00:15:58] [SPEAKER_03]: Bada bing bada boom you have it
[00:16:00] [SPEAKER_03]: And just as she's
[00:16:02] [SPEAKER_03]: She says all of this and she's about to shoot them
[00:16:05] [SPEAKER_03]: The mouse
[00:16:06] [SPEAKER_03]: That's in the house
[00:16:07] [SPEAKER_03]: Oh my gosh
[00:16:08] [SPEAKER_03]: Starts crawling up her leg
[00:16:09] [SPEAKER_03]: Throws her off long enough for them to go and get the gun
[00:16:13] [SPEAKER_03]: Not only do they arrest her
[00:16:15] [SPEAKER_03]: But they also solve
[00:16:17] [SPEAKER_03]: All the original murders
[00:16:18] [SPEAKER_03]: I think it's actually every murder that's ever happened
[00:16:21] [SPEAKER_03]: That's crazy
[00:16:23] [SPEAKER_04]: It's a blanket solve
[00:16:25] [SPEAKER_03]: And just as the movie is about to end
[00:16:27] [SPEAKER_03]: Some
[00:16:28] [SPEAKER_03]: Body wants to show me the world
[00:16:31] [SPEAKER_03]: Really good
[00:16:34] [SPEAKER_03]: Some
[00:16:35] [SPEAKER_03]: Badge people come up
[00:16:36] [SPEAKER_03]: And they say hey are you
[00:16:38] [SPEAKER_03]: Birdie we've got some information
[00:16:40] [SPEAKER_03]: About your papa I believe
[00:16:42] [SPEAKER_03]: Your dad and they go on in and that my friends
[00:16:44] [SPEAKER_03]: Was the case
[00:16:46] [SPEAKER_03]: Is a mystery lane
[00:16:48] [SPEAKER_03]: Death is listening
[00:16:51] [SPEAKER_03]: We did it
[00:16:52] [SPEAKER_03]: I'll say a quick break we'll come back
[00:16:54] [SPEAKER_03]: And we will dang it that's good
[00:16:56] [SPEAKER_03]: Total Request dead is pretty good I don't hate that
[00:16:59] [SPEAKER_04]: Have you seen Jesse and the Pussycats
[00:17:00] [SPEAKER_04]: I've never seen that movie
[00:17:01] [SPEAKER_03]: I don't know what that I don't know
[00:17:03] [SPEAKER_04]: It's a movie
[00:17:04] [SPEAKER_03]: We'll be right back here on Deck the Hallmark
[00:17:16] [SPEAKER_03]: Hello everybody welcome back to this program
[00:17:19] [SPEAKER_03]: Pretty serious stuff going on here today
[00:17:21] [SPEAKER_03]: Brian was just about to tell us his
[00:17:23] [SPEAKER_03]: Third tradition that he is
[00:17:24] [SPEAKER_03]: Planning to kick off this holiday season
[00:17:28] [SPEAKER_03]: Brian what's that
[00:17:28] [SPEAKER_03]: Third tradition
[00:17:30] [SPEAKER_03]: I'm starting to think this list isn't the real list
[00:17:33] [SPEAKER_05]: I think what I'm going to try
[00:17:34] [SPEAKER_05]: Doing is hiding in the fireplace
[00:17:37] [SPEAKER_05]: What do you mean
[00:17:38] [SPEAKER_05]: Just hanging out in the fireplace
[00:17:40] [SPEAKER_05]: Hiding up
[00:17:41] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah I'll hide in the fireplace and then try to like
[00:17:44] [SPEAKER_05]: Trick the kids and think I'm coming out of
[00:17:46] [SPEAKER_05]: The fireplace
[00:17:47] [SPEAKER_05]: So your third tradition is scare them basically
[00:17:49] [SPEAKER_05]: Well try to like inspire I would look at it as
[00:17:52] [SPEAKER_05]: Trying to inspire wonderment
[00:17:54] [SPEAKER_05]: Inspire wonderment
[00:17:56] [SPEAKER_05]: Are you like dressed up like Santa
[00:17:58] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah like old Saint Nick
[00:17:59] [SPEAKER_05]: Okay you didn't say that
[00:18:00] [SPEAKER_05]: You said I'm going to hide in the
[00:18:03] [SPEAKER_05]: A what
[00:18:04] [SPEAKER_05]: A cat and a Kershaw
[00:18:07] [SPEAKER_04]: I didn't see them live but I know what you're talking
[00:18:09] [SPEAKER_04]: About right now
[00:18:11] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah a Kershaw
[00:18:12] [SPEAKER_05]: And I'll be up there in the
[00:18:15] [SPEAKER_05]: My neighbor
[00:18:16] [SPEAKER_03]: My neighbor growing up was Andrew Kershaw
[00:18:20] [SPEAKER_03]: Could be the same one
[00:18:21] [SPEAKER_03]: Maybe he had the same idea
[00:18:24] [SPEAKER_03]: Cat Kershaw
[00:18:25] [SPEAKER_03]: Great this is good stuff they're getting better too
[00:18:27] [SPEAKER_03]: What's crazy is
[00:18:29] [SPEAKER_03]: His sister's name was Caitlin Kershaw
[00:18:31] [SPEAKER_03]: Which I never
[00:18:33] [SPEAKER_03]: Called her Cat Kershaw
[00:18:34] [SPEAKER_03]: And it's all just
[00:18:37] [SPEAKER_03]: Shout out to the Kershaw family
[00:18:39] [SPEAKER_03]: I hope you guys are doing good
[00:18:40] [SPEAKER_03]: Shout out
[00:18:43] [SPEAKER_03]: That's a weird one
[00:18:44] [SPEAKER_03]: But you being dressed up like Santa is helpful
[00:18:47] [SPEAKER_03]: You left that out
[00:18:48] [SPEAKER_03]: You said you were just going to hide
[00:18:50] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah you're going to be dressed up like Santa
[00:18:52] [SPEAKER_03]: Let's talk about The Death is Listening
[00:18:55] [SPEAKER_03]: We're going to start with a hot take
[00:18:56] [SPEAKER_03]: We're going to share exactly how we felt about this movie
[00:18:59] [SPEAKER_03]: Brian
[00:18:59] [SPEAKER_05]: Really liked it
[00:19:01] [SPEAKER_05]: I think I liked it more than the first one
[00:19:04] [SPEAKER_05]: I feel like these are getting better
[00:19:06] [SPEAKER_05]: They leaned into the nerddom
[00:19:08] [SPEAKER_04]: They lean real hard in
[00:19:10] [SPEAKER_04]: They're not leaning they are fully jumping
[00:19:13] [SPEAKER_04]: And right from the beginning
[00:19:14] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah they've lent
[00:19:15] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah they're full on over into nerdville
[00:19:17] [SPEAKER_05]: And it was like these two are perfect
[00:19:19] [SPEAKER_05]: For these roles
[00:19:21] [SPEAKER_05]: They played off each other so well
[00:19:23] [SPEAKER_05]: Everyone around them
[00:19:26] [SPEAKER_05]: Played it perfectly
[00:19:30] [SPEAKER_05]: Police officer air quotes there
[00:19:31] [SPEAKER_05]: I remembered him from
[00:19:33] [SPEAKER_05]: Wiser Men and a Baby
[00:19:35] [SPEAKER_05]: Before I remembered him from the last one of these
[00:19:37] [SPEAKER_05]: He's in a bunch of these
[00:19:38] [SPEAKER_05]: He's in a lot of stuff
[00:19:39] [SPEAKER_05]: My first thought was this is a funny little easter egg
[00:19:43] [SPEAKER_05]: He was the mean neighbor
[00:19:44] [SPEAKER_05]: And I'm like oh right they do have that history
[00:19:47] [SPEAKER_05]: So really great
[00:19:48] [SPEAKER_05]: At the end
[00:19:49] [SPEAKER_05]: I'm kind of torn
[00:19:50] [SPEAKER_05]: I'm still on the fence on whether
[00:19:53] [SPEAKER_05]: This was a genius play
[00:19:55] [SPEAKER_05]: Or it was a little more standard
[00:19:58] [SPEAKER_05]: And just really really well done
[00:20:00] [SPEAKER_05]: Where the killer
[00:20:02] [SPEAKER_05]: My first gut instinct is
[00:20:04] [SPEAKER_05]: Obviously it's Kristen
[00:20:06] [SPEAKER_05]: Because we meet her once and she's gone
[00:20:08] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah
[00:20:08] [SPEAKER_05]: And then we get to
[00:20:11] [SPEAKER_05]: Katie being the killer
[00:20:13] [SPEAKER_05]: And my reaction is that's awesome
[00:20:15] [SPEAKER_05]: Because the whole time I'm thinking it's Kristen
[00:20:17] [SPEAKER_05]: It was a red herring
[00:20:19] [SPEAKER_05]: It was sort of like a hat on a hat
[00:20:21] [SPEAKER_05]: They want us to think it's Kristen
[00:20:23] [SPEAKER_05]: It's not Kristen
[00:20:25] [SPEAKER_05]: But oh it is Kristen
[00:20:26] [SPEAKER_05]: So I don't know if they were playing doing that intentionally
[00:20:29] [SPEAKER_05]: Where it's sort of a wink
[00:20:31] [SPEAKER_05]: You knew we were going to do this the whole time
[00:20:33] [SPEAKER_05]: No we're not psych yes we are we did it
[00:20:35] [SPEAKER_04]: I think if you love the movie like you do
[00:20:37] [SPEAKER_04]: You're going to say
[00:20:39] [SPEAKER_04]: That's what they were doing
[00:20:39] [SPEAKER_04]: That is predetermined based upon your love of everything else
[00:20:44] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm not saying that to be
[00:20:45] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm saying that just in honesty
[00:20:46] [SPEAKER_04]: When I've loved a movie I've given it the benefit of the doubt
[00:20:49] [SPEAKER_04]: And when I've not I don't
[00:20:51] [SPEAKER_04]: I think if you love the movie and you're bought in
[00:20:53] [SPEAKER_04]: Then you're like of course they distracted us from the obvious
[00:20:55] [SPEAKER_04]: To go back to the obvious
[00:20:56] [SPEAKER_05]: I think I'll give it the benefit of the doubt
[00:21:00] [SPEAKER_05]: The two who wrote it
[00:21:01] [SPEAKER_05]: I think they're husband and wife
[00:21:03] [SPEAKER_05]: The first one was really fresh
[00:21:05] [SPEAKER_05]: This one had so many things in it
[00:21:07] [SPEAKER_05]: That were fun and exciting
[00:21:09] [SPEAKER_05]: And original
[00:21:10] [SPEAKER_05]: That I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt
[00:21:12] [SPEAKER_05]: I had a blast with this one
[00:21:13] [SPEAKER_05]: And what a way to end it too
[00:21:15] [SPEAKER_05]: With that cliffhanger
[00:21:17] [SPEAKER_05]: Unexpected
[00:21:18] [SPEAKER_04]: It's not a cliffhanger it's a new cliff
[00:21:22] [SPEAKER_04]: It has nothing to do with the story that happened before
[00:21:24] [SPEAKER_05]: That's what it was so great about
[00:21:25] [SPEAKER_05]: It's like a right turn
[00:21:26] [SPEAKER_05]: It's not another murder
[00:21:27] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm still waiting on the first one of these movies
[00:21:31] [SPEAKER_04]: At least that I've seen
[00:21:32] [SPEAKER_04]: Everybody brings up one that has done it
[00:21:34] [SPEAKER_04]: Where they don't catch them
[00:21:37] [SPEAKER_04]: Before we find out that this killer spanked
[00:21:40] [SPEAKER_04]: I thought there was an opportunity here to do that
[00:21:43] [SPEAKER_04]: It gives you something for the next movie
[00:21:45] [SPEAKER_04]: Hope they make it
[00:21:47] [SPEAKER_04]: It's not a mystery 101 situation
[00:21:49] [SPEAKER_03]: Hopefully it's not another year and a half
[00:21:52] [SPEAKER_03]: You said you liked this one more than the first one
[00:21:55] [SPEAKER_03]: And I'll take your word for it
[00:21:56] [SPEAKER_03]: It's been so long I don't remember
[00:21:57] [SPEAKER_03]: There are so many things I just didn't remember
[00:21:59] [SPEAKER_03]: But this is a really fun movie
[00:22:01] [SPEAKER_03]: I think overall
[00:22:03] [SPEAKER_03]: A well crafted mystery
[00:22:05] [SPEAKER_03]: And I was intrigued by it
[00:22:08] [SPEAKER_03]: But obviously what makes this movie
[00:22:09] [SPEAKER_03]: Is the characters of Alden and Bertie
[00:22:12] [SPEAKER_03]: They are so fun
[00:22:13] [SPEAKER_03]: They're so different
[00:22:15] [SPEAKER_03]: This is a comedy mystery
[00:22:19] [SPEAKER_03]: So much literal laugh out loud moments
[00:22:22] [SPEAKER_03]: In this movie
[00:22:23] [SPEAKER_03]: Which you don't get a ton of
[00:22:25] [SPEAKER_03]: Especially when it comes to the mysteries
[00:22:26] [SPEAKER_03]: But Hallmark in general is not known for their funny
[00:22:29] [SPEAKER_03]: Ha ha laugh out loud
[00:22:30] [SPEAKER_03]: Maybe a smile here or there
[00:22:32] [SPEAKER_03]: But a laugh out loud
[00:22:33] [SPEAKER_03]: Doesn't happen a ton
[00:22:34] [SPEAKER_03]: These two characters are dynamite
[00:22:36] [SPEAKER_03]: The actors are playing it great
[00:22:39] [SPEAKER_03]: I can't wait for more of it
[00:22:40] [SPEAKER_03]: I think it's a really fun mystery series
[00:22:44] [SPEAKER_03]: And I think they can do a lot of cool things with it
[00:22:46] [SPEAKER_03]: And I agree
[00:22:47] [SPEAKER_03]: New Cliff
[00:22:48] [SPEAKER_03]: We introduced New Cliff
[00:22:51] [SPEAKER_03]: Welcome Cliff
[00:22:53] [SPEAKER_04]: Is that New Cliff?
[00:22:54] [SPEAKER_04]: New Cliff is here, it's unbelievable
[00:22:56] [SPEAKER_04]: Hello everyone
[00:22:59] [SPEAKER_04]: It's Cliff
[00:23:00] [SPEAKER_04]: You look new
[00:23:02] [SPEAKER_04]: You sound like someone we've heard before
[00:23:04] [SPEAKER_04]: What happened to Old Cliff?
[00:23:07] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't
[00:23:08] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't talk about it
[00:23:10] [SPEAKER_04]: You would never
[00:23:11] [SPEAKER_04]: I didn't kill him
[00:23:12] [SPEAKER_04]: No one
[00:23:14] [SPEAKER_03]: You brought me in on the mystery
[00:23:18] [SPEAKER_03]: You brought up that someone killed him
[00:23:20] [SPEAKER_04]: I didn't say anyone killed me
[00:23:22] [SPEAKER_04]: No
[00:23:23] [SPEAKER_01]: No
[00:23:24] [SPEAKER_01]: No
[00:23:25] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm not going to talk about it
[00:23:27] [SPEAKER_01]: I honestly
[00:23:29] [SPEAKER_01]: Don't know how we got here
[00:23:32] [SPEAKER_02]: New Cliff is a magician
[00:23:33] [SPEAKER_05]: New Cliff is the worst
[00:23:34] [SPEAKER_05]: We don't like tricks
[00:23:37] [SPEAKER_05]: Can you describe
[00:23:39] [SPEAKER_05]: Great
[00:23:41] [SPEAKER_04]: Thanks New Cliff
[00:23:42] [SPEAKER_03]: Dan what did you think
[00:23:43] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah I
[00:23:46] [SPEAKER_04]: No movie, no second movie
[00:23:49] [SPEAKER_04]: Has made me want to watch the first one
[00:23:52] [SPEAKER_04]: More than this one did
[00:23:53] [SPEAKER_04]: But I don't think it's for the reasons that
[00:23:56] [SPEAKER_04]: You would hope
[00:23:57] [SPEAKER_04]: I think
[00:23:58] [SPEAKER_04]: The thing about this series is
[00:24:01] [SPEAKER_04]: Is that Amy Garcia and Paul Campbell are
[00:24:04] [SPEAKER_04]: Wonderful
[00:24:05] [SPEAKER_04]: And they have a lot of fun playing
[00:24:07] [SPEAKER_04]: And that brings these to life
[00:24:09] [SPEAKER_04]: I thought, having said that
[00:24:11] [SPEAKER_04]: I need to say that up front and establish
[00:24:13] [SPEAKER_04]: That these two are great
[00:24:15] [SPEAKER_04]: One and two
[00:24:16] [SPEAKER_04]: They should, as we've been banging the drum for around here for a while
[00:24:19] [SPEAKER_04]: Keep making these instead of throwing out
[00:24:21] [SPEAKER_04]: Mysteries that aren't good
[00:24:23] [SPEAKER_04]: Seeing if we need to start a new wheel
[00:24:25] [SPEAKER_04]: I would like one of these every six months
[00:24:27] [SPEAKER_04]: I need to make that clear
[00:24:27] [SPEAKER_04]: I thought this was worse in every way
[00:24:30] [SPEAKER_04]: Possible than the first one
[00:24:33] [SPEAKER_04]: First of all, the case of the first one
[00:24:35] [SPEAKER_04]: I remember them being this murder in the law office
[00:24:37] [SPEAKER_04]: And them trying to establish a time of alibi
[00:24:40] [SPEAKER_04]: And it didn't make sense
[00:24:41] [SPEAKER_04]: And they had a very clever way for why it did make sense
[00:24:43] [SPEAKER_04]: And I remember being very
[00:24:45] [SPEAKER_04]: Impressed by that
[00:24:48] [SPEAKER_04]: So, the case for this one
[00:24:49] [SPEAKER_04]: Wasn't as good to me
[00:24:50] [SPEAKER_04]: I think you gave it the benefit of the doubt
[00:24:53] [SPEAKER_04]: I thought it was fairly obvious
[00:24:55] [SPEAKER_04]: What was going on there
[00:24:56] [SPEAKER_04]: I also think the whole reveal
[00:24:59] [SPEAKER_04]: And how it goes down
[00:25:00] [SPEAKER_04]: I'll save it for a wait what
[00:25:01] [SPEAKER_04]: Didn't work for me
[00:25:02] [SPEAKER_04]: I also think, like, from the first scene of this movie
[00:25:07] [SPEAKER_04]: I was like, why are these characters
[00:25:10] [SPEAKER_04]: Paul Campbell in particularly
[00:25:11] [SPEAKER_04]: Why is he going so hard?
[00:25:14] [SPEAKER_04]: Like, why is he just
[00:25:15] [SPEAKER_04]: So
[00:25:17] [SPEAKER_04]: Animated
[00:25:17] [SPEAKER_04]: He was doing a full Jim Carrey
[00:25:21] [SPEAKER_04]: In this movie, and it's funny
[00:25:22] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm not here to tell you it's not funny
[00:25:24] [SPEAKER_04]: And Paul Campbell can do it
[00:25:26] [SPEAKER_04]: But I was like, was he like this in the first movie?
[00:25:29] [SPEAKER_04]: I went back and watched
[00:25:31] [SPEAKER_04]: I watched about 10 minutes on mute
[00:25:33] [SPEAKER_04]: I watched a little bit more with the sound on
[00:25:35] [SPEAKER_04]: He's not like this
[00:25:37] [SPEAKER_04]: He isn't. He cares deeply
[00:25:39] [SPEAKER_04]: About being a private investigator
[00:25:40] [SPEAKER_04]: He's a nerd, he has some of these tendencies
[00:25:43] [SPEAKER_04]: He doesn't spend every waking moment
[00:25:45] [SPEAKER_04]: Fidgeting and dancing
[00:25:46] [SPEAKER_04]: And talking about every nerd thing imaginable
[00:25:49] [SPEAKER_04]: Now, maybe that was intentional
[00:25:51] [SPEAKER_04]: Maybe they did this on purpose
[00:25:53] [SPEAKER_04]: To lean into this
[00:25:54] [SPEAKER_04]: And that's the direction they're going
[00:25:55] [SPEAKER_04]: Which is fine. So, while I did enjoy this movie
[00:25:58] [SPEAKER_04]: While I do want them to make more of these
[00:26:00] [SPEAKER_04]: The first one's better
[00:26:02] [SPEAKER_04]: In my opinion, the first one's better
[00:26:04] [SPEAKER_04]: Across the board. Story better, acting better
[00:26:07] [SPEAKER_04]: Everything better
[00:26:08] [SPEAKER_04]: I did laugh more in this one
[00:26:10] [SPEAKER_04]: I laughed more in this one, they went for the jokes
[00:26:12] [SPEAKER_04]: I think that a lot of the jokes do work
[00:26:14] [SPEAKER_04]: So I will say I laugh more
[00:26:15] [SPEAKER_04]: I like the other one better across the board
[00:26:17] [SPEAKER_04]: Not even my favorite mystery of the year
[00:26:19] [SPEAKER_04]: But it is something I want to see regularly
[00:26:22] [SPEAKER_04]: On Homework Mystery
[00:26:23] [SPEAKER_04]: It's time for all the feels, we're talking about one of the movie's feels
[00:26:26] [SPEAKER_05]: Feels, Brian
[00:26:27] [SPEAKER_05]: I feel like there was a level of
[00:26:30] [SPEAKER_05]: Ingenuity in the pranks
[00:26:32] [SPEAKER_05]: That they really were allowed to
[00:26:34] [SPEAKER_05]: Incorporate here that aren't normally part of it
[00:26:36] [SPEAKER_05]: Where he did one thing, Paul did
[00:26:38] [SPEAKER_05]: Where he handed the, he was holding
[00:26:40] [SPEAKER_05]: The six pack of root beer and
[00:26:41] [SPEAKER_05]: Kristen grabs it from him
[00:26:43] [SPEAKER_05]: And he pulls one up and I laughed out loud
[00:26:46] [SPEAKER_05]: And my son, Ethan, was watching with me
[00:26:47] [SPEAKER_05]: He laughed too and he goes, why was that funny?
[00:26:50] [SPEAKER_05]: And I was just like
[00:26:51] [SPEAKER_05]: I don't know man, it just was
[00:26:53] [SPEAKER_05]: That was just a funny move
[00:26:54] [SPEAKER_04]: If you're somebody that brews your own root beer
[00:26:58] [SPEAKER_04]: That's exactly what you would do
[00:26:59] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, you would take
[00:27:01] [SPEAKER_05]: That is such a clever touch
[00:27:03] [SPEAKER_05]: It was so great
[00:27:05] [SPEAKER_05]: And then him, he rolled in the bed again
[00:27:08] [SPEAKER_05]: Which was a callback from the first movie
[00:27:10] [SPEAKER_05]: He did that and he still did that
[00:27:12] [SPEAKER_05]: Which was a really funny thing
[00:27:13] [SPEAKER_05]: And just the mouse trap that they built
[00:27:15] [SPEAKER_05]: They actually delivered on
[00:27:17] [SPEAKER_05]: We got to see it
[00:27:18] [SPEAKER_05]: So I feel like they were allowed to play a lot
[00:27:22] [SPEAKER_05]: In this movie
[00:27:23] [SPEAKER_05]: And yeah, I laughed out loud multiple times
[00:27:25] [SPEAKER_05]: And so real big payoff there
[00:27:28] [SPEAKER_03]: My feels was gonna be
[00:27:30] [SPEAKER_03]: The mouse
[00:27:31] [SPEAKER_03]: Because I didn't expect it to
[00:27:33] [SPEAKER_03]: Be my feels
[00:27:34] [SPEAKER_03]: And I didn't expect it to work
[00:27:36] [SPEAKER_03]: Or be a part of it
[00:27:37] [SPEAKER_03]: And the fact that they set this thing up
[00:27:40] [SPEAKER_03]: And they just, throughout the movie
[00:27:41] [SPEAKER_03]: Went back to it every once in a while
[00:27:43] [SPEAKER_03]: And then ultimately being the thing
[00:27:46] [SPEAKER_03]: That threw the killer off
[00:27:48] [SPEAKER_03]: And then the mouse trap
[00:27:49] [SPEAKER_03]: All of those little things
[00:27:52] [SPEAKER_03]: It shouldn't work, it's so dumb
[00:27:53] [SPEAKER_03]: But it did work for me
[00:27:54] [SPEAKER_03]: And so I will give it my feels
[00:27:57] [SPEAKER_04]: The mouse is part of my feels
[00:27:58] [SPEAKER_04]: I want to be very clear
[00:27:59] [SPEAKER_04]: I think the mouse doesn't work at all
[00:28:01] [SPEAKER_04]: I think it's a huge weight for this movie
[00:28:03] [SPEAKER_04]: I think that's one of the reasons it's worse than the first one
[00:28:05] [SPEAKER_04]: But I got what I would describe as McGee and me feels
[00:28:09] [SPEAKER_04]: If you were a
[00:28:11] [SPEAKER_04]: Youngster raised in the church
[00:28:12] [SPEAKER_04]: In the late 80s, early 90s
[00:28:14] [SPEAKER_04]: Then you got to watch instead of real cartoons
[00:28:16] [SPEAKER_04]: You got to watch a little television program
[00:28:18] [SPEAKER_04]: Called McGee and Me
[00:28:19] [SPEAKER_04]: Where there's a guy named Nick
[00:28:21] [SPEAKER_04]: And he draws and he invents things
[00:28:23] [SPEAKER_04]: And he has a cartoon of his named McGee
[00:28:25] [SPEAKER_04]: Come to life
[00:28:26] [SPEAKER_04]: To teach him lessons straight from the bible
[00:28:29] [SPEAKER_04]: But at the beginning of every episode
[00:28:31] [SPEAKER_04]: Of McGee and Me
[00:28:32] [SPEAKER_04]: There is a whole contraption that he's made
[00:28:35] [SPEAKER_04]: That like does something very basic
[00:28:37] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't know what it is, sharpens his pencil
[00:28:39] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't know what it does, it does something very basic
[00:28:41] [SPEAKER_04]: And watching the mouse trap
[00:28:43] [SPEAKER_04]: At the end of this movie
[00:28:44] [SPEAKER_04]: Made me feel like I was watching a VHS tape
[00:28:48] [SPEAKER_04]: Of one of the many
[00:28:49] [SPEAKER_04]: Episodes of McGee and Me
[00:28:51] [SPEAKER_04]: That I got to watch growing up
[00:28:52] [SPEAKER_04]: And that made me happy
[00:28:53] [SPEAKER_04]: Were you more McGee or Me?
[00:28:56] [SPEAKER_04]: Me, yeah you would
[00:28:57] [SPEAKER_04]: The more you think about McGee and Me
[00:28:59] [SPEAKER_04]: The more it's like weird
[00:29:01] [SPEAKER_04]: Like I talked to this cartoon, nobody else can see him
[00:29:04] [SPEAKER_04]: Cartoon's giving me advice
[00:29:05] [SPEAKER_03]: We all had imaginary friends
[00:29:06] [SPEAKER_04]: That were giving you like life lessons
[00:29:08] [SPEAKER_04]: Really, you had an imaginary friend that gave you life lessons
[00:29:11] [SPEAKER_04]: Straight from the bible
[00:29:13] [SPEAKER_04]: Who was your imaginary friend that gave you life lessons straight from the bible
[00:29:17] [SPEAKER_03]: Don't say Jesus
[00:29:18] [SPEAKER_03]: No I wouldn't say that
[00:29:19] [SPEAKER_04]: It's not imaginary
[00:29:22] [SPEAKER_03]: Invisible I'd say the spirit
[00:29:23] [SPEAKER_03]: Once again
[00:29:25] [SPEAKER_03]: Not imaginary
[00:29:26] [SPEAKER_04]: This is a cartoon
[00:29:28] [SPEAKER_04]: That's like maybe three inches tall
[00:29:31] [SPEAKER_04]: And it's giving
[00:29:31] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't have a problem with it, I think it's kids being kids
[00:29:35] [SPEAKER_03]: Great, awesome
[00:29:36] [SPEAKER_04]: This is pre-veggie tales
[00:29:39] [SPEAKER_03]: Broccoli, celery, gotta be veggie tales
[00:29:41] [SPEAKER_03]: Let's take a quick break
[00:29:43] [SPEAKER_03]: We will come back
[00:29:45] [SPEAKER_03]: And get to the Wait What?
[00:29:46] [SPEAKER_03]: And the What The Hallmark here on
[00:29:48] [SPEAKER_03]: Dag The Hallmark
[00:29:56] [SPEAKER_03]: Hi everybody, it's Dag The Hallmark
[00:30:00] [SPEAKER_03]: Hopefully you're having a wonderful day
[00:30:02] [SPEAKER_03]: Hopefully you're watching us on Philo
[00:30:04] [SPEAKER_03]: Philo.tv slash DTH
[00:30:05] [SPEAKER_03]: Hello, it's us
[00:30:08] [SPEAKER_03]: It's great to be here and hopefully after you watch this
[00:30:10] [SPEAKER_03]: You'll watch something else
[00:30:11] [SPEAKER_04]: You feel good about joining there, bro?
[00:30:13] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah man, I got, wasn't I right in on that?
[00:30:15] [SPEAKER_04]: You were right in, did you do it?
[00:30:17] [SPEAKER_04]: I didn't do it, and I wasn't
[00:30:18] [SPEAKER_04]: It wasn't because I was trying to not do something
[00:30:20] [SPEAKER_04]: I just was like, brain's gonna wave
[00:30:21] [SPEAKER_04]: Then I looked up and by the time you were done
[00:30:23] [SPEAKER_04]: I was like, this is done
[00:30:26] [SPEAKER_04]: They pay their money
[00:30:27] [SPEAKER_04]: Of course
[00:30:31] [SPEAKER_04]: Brian, come on
[00:30:32] [SPEAKER_03]: We'll do it in post
[00:30:33] [SPEAKER_03]: We'll get him, we'll bring him in
[00:30:35] [SPEAKER_03]: No one's gonna know
[00:30:39] [SPEAKER_03]: It's time for the Wait What?
[00:30:40] [SPEAKER_03]: So we're talking about what in the Smooth Minutes
[00:30:41] [SPEAKER_03]: Go Wait What, Brian?
[00:30:43] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, like we've established
[00:30:45] [SPEAKER_05]: I'm giving this movie the benefit of the doubt
[00:30:47] [SPEAKER_05]: But I do feel like
[00:30:49] [SPEAKER_05]: If you're a local police department
[00:30:51] [SPEAKER_05]: And you need some extra resources
[00:30:52] [SPEAKER_05]: You're not doing this
[00:30:53] [SPEAKER_05]: You're gonna go up the chain
[00:30:57] [SPEAKER_05]: Versus
[00:30:58] [SPEAKER_05]: Not out in the streets
[00:30:59] [SPEAKER_05]: You go up the chain, not out the chain
[00:31:01] [SPEAKER_05]: Out the front door to the curb
[00:31:03] [SPEAKER_05]: The police have enough problems
[00:31:05] [SPEAKER_04]: Can you imagine them just grabbing folks that they know
[00:31:08] [SPEAKER_04]: This is my girlfriend's friend from high school
[00:31:10] [SPEAKER_04]: She's gonna come in and talk to these
[00:31:13] [SPEAKER_05]: Suspects for murder?
[00:31:14] [SPEAKER_05]: She's not biased, they have no bias
[00:31:15] [SPEAKER_05]: They've been fully trained
[00:31:17] [SPEAKER_04]: It's just my girlfriend's friend from high school
[00:31:20] [SPEAKER_04]: She's good at it
[00:31:21] [SPEAKER_04]: So is her husband, they're nerds
[00:31:23] [SPEAKER_04]: I'll be right there the whole time
[00:31:25] [SPEAKER_04]: It's not a big deal, it's just people's lives
[00:31:27] [SPEAKER_05]: It's not a stupid NBD
[00:31:30] [SPEAKER_05]: Maybe mention the FBI
[00:31:32] [SPEAKER_05]: Just maybe mention
[00:31:33] [SPEAKER_05]: Or like the big city police, I don't know
[00:31:35] [SPEAKER_04]: Or hear me out, let them go
[00:31:37] [SPEAKER_04]: Because you don't have anything to hold them on
[00:31:39] [SPEAKER_04]: Maybe, that sounds crazy
[00:31:41] [SPEAKER_04]: But maybe do that instead of bringing a nerd
[00:31:44] [SPEAKER_04]: You got any nerds?
[00:31:46] [SPEAKER_04]: I got two
[00:31:47] [SPEAKER_05]: But they are friends of mine
[00:31:48] [SPEAKER_05]: I'll bring them in, it doesn't matter
[00:31:51] [SPEAKER_05]: One of them was that
[00:31:53] [SPEAKER_05]: She bought a book on lockpicking
[00:31:56] [SPEAKER_05]: But then I realized
[00:31:57] [SPEAKER_05]: That was probably right on character for her
[00:31:59] [SPEAKER_05]: Because she probably did watch a bunch of videos on lockpicking
[00:32:02] [SPEAKER_05]: And then thought
[00:32:03] [SPEAKER_05]: I'm gonna get a book on this too
[00:32:04] [SPEAKER_04]: I think for mine it was the size of the book
[00:32:06] [SPEAKER_04]: Giant book
[00:32:07] [SPEAKER_04]: There are plenty of books on lockpicking
[00:32:10] [SPEAKER_04]: A real big book
[00:32:12] [SPEAKER_04]: I can't imagine it being the length of a Harry Potter
[00:32:15] [SPEAKER_04]: I can't imagine it being a 400 page
[00:32:18] [SPEAKER_04]: It's every lock
[00:32:18] [SPEAKER_04]: Yes, this is how you pick a lock
[00:32:20] [SPEAKER_04]: For 400 straight pages
[00:32:23] [SPEAKER_03]: There's a YouTube channel out there
[00:32:25] [SPEAKER_03]: Called the Lockpicking Expert
[00:32:27] [SPEAKER_03]: And people send him in
[00:32:29] [SPEAKER_03]: To a PO box
[00:32:30] [SPEAKER_03]: A lock
[00:32:31] [SPEAKER_03]: That they think is going to be difficult
[00:32:33] [SPEAKER_03]: For him to pick
[00:32:34] [SPEAKER_03]: And the main takeaway
[00:32:36] [SPEAKER_03]: Watching that series
[00:32:37] [SPEAKER_03]: Is anyone can break into your house
[00:32:40] [SPEAKER_03]: There's no real good locks out there
[00:32:43] [SPEAKER_04]: Here at First Trundek the Hallmark
[00:32:45] [SPEAKER_04]: You're not safe out there
[00:32:46] [SPEAKER_03]: You're not safe
[00:32:48] [SPEAKER_03]: Lock your doors
[00:32:49] [SPEAKER_03]: But it's only for your own comfort
[00:32:52] [SPEAKER_03]: It's not gonna keep them out
[00:32:53] [SPEAKER_04]: Are you secretly sponsored by a security system?
[00:32:56] [SPEAKER_04]: Maybe I am
[00:32:57] [SPEAKER_03]: CBI, Promo Code deck
[00:32:58] [SPEAKER_03]: Oh what's this, it's a cove?
[00:33:01] [SPEAKER_03]: Security system, this is crazy
[00:33:02] [SPEAKER_03]: Pinecone
[00:33:05] [SPEAKER_05]: One last one
[00:33:07] [SPEAKER_05]: Another thing
[00:33:09] [SPEAKER_05]: Was just the news crew being outside
[00:33:11] [SPEAKER_05]: The podcast studio
[00:33:13] [SPEAKER_05]: At the moment
[00:33:14] [SPEAKER_05]: When she snuck in
[00:33:16] [SPEAKER_05]: Before a murder happened
[00:33:18] [SPEAKER_05]: Or when Katie was sneaking in
[00:33:21] [SPEAKER_05]: Before she said she'd seen
[00:33:23] [SPEAKER_04]: The killer
[00:33:24] [SPEAKER_05]: They were already there for some reason
[00:33:26] [SPEAKER_05]: Just reporting I guess regularly
[00:33:28] [SPEAKER_05]: Even though she probably saw that news camera
[00:33:31] [SPEAKER_05]: There
[00:33:31] [SPEAKER_05]: She continued to proceed with her
[00:33:34] [SPEAKER_05]: Fake accostation
[00:33:36] [SPEAKER_05]: I don't know if that's a word
[00:33:38] [SPEAKER_05]: But that word felt right
[00:33:39] [SPEAKER_03]: It was strong
[00:33:42] [SPEAKER_03]: That was it
[00:33:43] [SPEAKER_03]: One more tradition
[00:33:46] [SPEAKER_04]: Just two words, hit me
[00:33:49] [SPEAKER_04]: Import snow
[00:33:50] [SPEAKER_04]: Okay
[00:33:51] [SPEAKER_04]: You don't want to give that one away
[00:33:53] [SPEAKER_04]: That is a really good one
[00:33:54] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm thinking, I don't want to give those away
[00:33:56] [SPEAKER_04]: That's a business idea too
[00:33:57] [SPEAKER_03]: So there is a
[00:34:02] [SPEAKER_03]: Joke in here
[00:34:03] [SPEAKER_03]: That worked really well
[00:34:05] [SPEAKER_03]: She's in a hot yoga class
[00:34:08] [SPEAKER_03]: And
[00:34:09] [SPEAKER_03]: He comes barging in
[00:34:11] [SPEAKER_03]: And he's eating donuts and he's humming along
[00:34:12] [SPEAKER_03]: And he's like I thought there would be
[00:34:14] [SPEAKER_03]: A room before the room
[00:34:16] [SPEAKER_03]: Maybe my favorite part of this movie
[00:34:18] [SPEAKER_03]: 100% there should be a room before the room
[00:34:20] [SPEAKER_03]: There should be a room before the room
[00:34:22] [SPEAKER_03]: There has to be
[00:34:23] [SPEAKER_03]: In a secret space like that
[00:34:26] [SPEAKER_03]: You need a room before the room
[00:34:27] [SPEAKER_03]: You need it
[00:34:29] [SPEAKER_05]: But it was, when I was in high school
[00:34:32] [SPEAKER_05]: It was at a girlfriend's
[00:34:34] [SPEAKER_05]: House
[00:34:35] [SPEAKER_05]: And I walked, I've never been to her house
[00:34:38] [SPEAKER_02]: And it was
[00:34:39] [SPEAKER_02]: It was at a girl friend
[00:34:42] [SPEAKER_02]: Is that what you call them?
[00:34:43] [SPEAKER_05]: You know you have girlfriends when you're younger
[00:34:46] [SPEAKER_05]: It's nothing real
[00:34:47] [SPEAKER_05]: I understand
[00:34:49] [SPEAKER_05]: But the front of the house looked like it was a screen porch
[00:34:51] [SPEAKER_05]: So I just opened the door and whoops
[00:34:53] [SPEAKER_05]: Turns out living room, her dad is sitting there watching TV
[00:34:56] [SPEAKER_05]: And it's the first time I've met him
[00:34:58] [SPEAKER_05]: You thought the door was a screen porch
[00:35:00] [SPEAKER_05]: When you're walking up
[00:35:01] [SPEAKER_05]: It looks like
[00:35:04] [SPEAKER_05]: A screen porch
[00:35:05] [SPEAKER_05]: And it wasn't, it was just the front of the house
[00:35:08] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah man
[00:35:10] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm going to need to see a picture of this house
[00:35:11] [SPEAKER_03]: No
[00:35:12] [SPEAKER_03]: Okay, I can probably look up that
[00:35:14] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, go ahead
[00:35:17] [SPEAKER_00]: So the funny part of that scene for you
[00:35:19] [SPEAKER_00]: Was just him walking in
[00:35:20] [SPEAKER_00]: And saying there's no room
[00:35:22] [SPEAKER_00]: It wasn't the namaste, namago joke?
[00:35:24] [SPEAKER_04]: No, it was 100%
[00:35:26] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean that's a good joke
[00:35:27] [SPEAKER_04]: The joke is fine but him walking into a yoga studio
[00:35:31] [SPEAKER_04]: There should be a room before the room
[00:35:33] [SPEAKER_00]: I've been in yoga studios where it's not
[00:35:35] [SPEAKER_04]: You walk in and there's always a desk
[00:35:37] [SPEAKER_04]: Something to check in
[00:35:38] [SPEAKER_04]: The idea that he walked in and he was sitting
[00:35:40] [SPEAKER_04]: And he had a cinnamon roll in his mouth
[00:35:41] [SPEAKER_04]: It was perfect
[00:35:44] [SPEAKER_04]: Because he wasn't, that's the thing
[00:35:45] [SPEAKER_04]: If you and I did that, my first thought isn't
[00:35:48] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm sorry
[00:35:48] [SPEAKER_04]: If I walk into a yoga studio
[00:35:51] [SPEAKER_04]: In the middle of yoga practice
[00:35:53] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm going to be like, I'm really sorry
[00:35:54] [SPEAKER_04]: But if I walk in there, I am not saying I'm sorry
[00:35:57] [SPEAKER_04]: There should be a room before the room
[00:35:59] [SPEAKER_04]: What are we doing?
[00:36:01] [SPEAKER_04]: Something that says, or like a thing on the door
[00:36:03] [SPEAKER_04]: That says yoga's in session
[00:36:05] [SPEAKER_04]: Or something
[00:36:06] [SPEAKER_03]: Yoga's in session
[00:36:07] [SPEAKER_03]: There, speaking of this
[00:36:10] [SPEAKER_03]: Hot yoga studio
[00:36:12] [SPEAKER_03]: She does talk about her podcast
[00:36:15] [SPEAKER_03]: And she says that it's fire breathe
[00:36:17] [SPEAKER_03]: With a Y
[00:36:18] [SPEAKER_03]: For fire
[00:36:20] [SPEAKER_03]: My thought is like
[00:36:21] [SPEAKER_03]: Firefest has ruined any usage
[00:36:24] [SPEAKER_03]: Of fire with a Y
[00:36:26] [SPEAKER_03]: If you want to be taken seriously
[00:36:28] [SPEAKER_03]: Or if you're trying to use it
[00:36:30] [SPEAKER_03]: In earnest, unironically
[00:36:32] [SPEAKER_03]: You can't use a Y in fire anymore
[00:36:35] [SPEAKER_03]: Firefest ruined it
[00:36:36] [SPEAKER_03]: Unless you want your podcast to be a disaster
[00:36:39] [SPEAKER_03]: Then go for it
[00:36:40] [SPEAKER_03]: But yeah, that was my first thought
[00:36:42] [SPEAKER_03]: When she said that
[00:36:44] [SPEAKER_03]: It's been ruined
[00:36:45] [SPEAKER_03]: A good Y in the fire has been ruined
[00:36:47] [SPEAKER_03]: Thanks a lot Firefest
[00:36:48] [SPEAKER_03]: Oh, it's her last name
[00:36:51] [SPEAKER_00]: She's Winterusfire
[00:36:52] [SPEAKER_03]: You gotta change it for the podcast
[00:36:54] [SPEAKER_03]: People are not going to take you seriously
[00:36:58] [SPEAKER_04]: Go ahead Dano
[00:37:00] [SPEAKER_04]: A flashlight to the face
[00:37:02] [SPEAKER_04]: Wakes anyone not sedated up
[00:37:04] [SPEAKER_04]: And I stand by that
[00:37:06] [SPEAKER_04]: Especially when they just fell asleep
[00:37:08] [SPEAKER_04]: You can't possibly
[00:37:10] [SPEAKER_04]: We've lost Brian to trying to figure out
[00:37:12] [SPEAKER_04]: How a screen hits you
[00:37:13] [SPEAKER_04]: But if you fall asleep five minutes ago
[00:37:17] [SPEAKER_04]: Two seconds ago
[00:37:19] [SPEAKER_04]: Flashlight to the face
[00:37:21] [SPEAKER_04]: Wakes, I know this
[00:37:22] [SPEAKER_04]: Because my kids have shined a flashlight
[00:37:25] [SPEAKER_04]: In my face before
[00:37:26] [SPEAKER_04]: It wakes anyone up that isn't sedated
[00:37:28] [SPEAKER_04]: Period, no questions asked
[00:37:31] [SPEAKER_04]: Sarsaparilla and root beer are different
[00:37:32] [SPEAKER_04]: That doesn't matter to anyone
[00:37:34] [SPEAKER_04]: Unless you brew your own root beer
[00:37:36] [SPEAKER_04]: Brandon and I were talking about this
[00:37:38] [SPEAKER_04]: If you're someone who's nerdy enough to brew
[00:37:40] [SPEAKER_04]: Your own root beer, God bless you
[00:37:41] [SPEAKER_04]: I would like to try that root beer
[00:37:43] [SPEAKER_04]: But also, if somebody calls it a sarsaparilla
[00:37:46] [SPEAKER_04]: You're going to be like, no no
[00:37:47] [SPEAKER_04]: It's not sarsaparilla, it's root beer
[00:37:50] [SPEAKER_04]: Paul Campbell's character uses them interchangeably
[00:37:52] [SPEAKER_04]: No way, no how
[00:37:54] [SPEAKER_04]: My biggest problem with this movie
[00:37:56] [SPEAKER_04]: Is that
[00:37:57] [SPEAKER_04]: There is absolutely
[00:37:59] [SPEAKER_04]: Zero proof
[00:38:01] [SPEAKER_04]: That this woman committed this murder
[00:38:03] [SPEAKER_04]: She wore gloves
[00:38:05] [SPEAKER_04]: She wore a coat
[00:38:07] [SPEAKER_04]: No one has anything
[00:38:09] [SPEAKER_04]: There is someone saying Katie
[00:38:11] [SPEAKER_04]: That could be KD
[00:38:13] [SPEAKER_04]: Could be Katie
[00:38:14] [SPEAKER_04]: There is a squeak of a duck that we don't know what it is
[00:38:17] [SPEAKER_04]: Best case scenario
[00:38:19] [SPEAKER_04]: Circumstantial evidence
[00:38:21] [SPEAKER_04]: There is no proof whatsoever
[00:38:23] [SPEAKER_04]: That she murdered this person
[00:38:25] [SPEAKER_04]: And she jumps right to
[00:38:27] [SPEAKER_04]: Taking a gun out of the holster of a police officer
[00:38:30] [SPEAKER_04]: Why did you do that?
[00:38:32] [SPEAKER_04]: There is literally someone in custody
[00:38:34] [SPEAKER_04]: Named Katie
[00:38:35] [SPEAKER_04]: That happened to be in the building
[00:38:37] [SPEAKER_04]: Your chances are really good
[00:38:39] [SPEAKER_04]: Really good to not get caught here
[00:38:41] [SPEAKER_04]: What in the world are you thinking
[00:38:43] [SPEAKER_04]: Giving yourself up like that
[00:38:45] [SPEAKER_03]: I will say though
[00:38:47] [SPEAKER_03]: Her ability to put on the silencer
[00:38:49] [SPEAKER_03]: On that gun
[00:38:50] [SPEAKER_03]: Leads me to believe this is not her first rodeo
[00:38:52] [SPEAKER_04]: It's not the first time she has killed someone
[00:38:54] [SPEAKER_04]: Spun that thing on there like a top
[00:38:55] [SPEAKER_04]: I got a couple more
[00:38:58] [SPEAKER_04]: The mouse in this movie
[00:39:00] [SPEAKER_04]: Is chewing perfectly round holes
[00:39:02] [SPEAKER_04]: In everything which god bless you
[00:39:04] [SPEAKER_04]: For having the manners to chew perfectly round holes
[00:39:06] [SPEAKER_04]: And even helping them on their investigation
[00:39:08] [SPEAKER_04]: At one point Birdy is able to see
[00:39:10] [SPEAKER_04]: The storage shed logo
[00:39:12] [SPEAKER_04]: Because the mouse has chewed a perfect hole
[00:39:14] [SPEAKER_04]: In the newspaper
[00:39:16] [SPEAKER_04]: Directly where the storage logo
[00:39:18] [SPEAKER_04]: Is behind it
[00:39:19] [SPEAKER_04]: It's like the mouse is omniscient
[00:39:21] [SPEAKER_04]: In this movie
[00:39:22] [SPEAKER_04]: Chewing perfect circles everywhere
[00:39:24] [SPEAKER_04]: Just to help out
[00:39:27] [SPEAKER_04]: At one point in this movie
[00:39:28] [SPEAKER_04]: They go to teach a salsa class
[00:39:31] [SPEAKER_04]: Which I guess allows them to do
[00:39:33] [SPEAKER_04]: The slow mo funny montage
[00:39:35] [SPEAKER_04]: Which is apparently a part of every Paul Campbell movie
[00:39:37] [SPEAKER_04]: Now since Santa's stakeout
[00:39:39] [SPEAKER_04]: It's a requirement that they do a walk slowly for a laugh
[00:39:42] [SPEAKER_04]: Works every time
[00:39:43] [SPEAKER_04]: It works every time
[00:39:44] [SPEAKER_04]: It does not work
[00:39:45] [SPEAKER_04]: But once they're there
[00:39:46] [SPEAKER_04]: You would assume that she would stay and teach
[00:39:49] [SPEAKER_04]: The salsa class
[00:39:51] [SPEAKER_04]: And he would sneak off to go do the investigation
[00:39:53] [SPEAKER_04]: No no
[00:39:54] [SPEAKER_04]: They both start the salsa class
[00:39:57] [SPEAKER_04]: And then they leave
[00:39:59] [SPEAKER_04]: The salsa class
[00:40:00] [SPEAKER_04]: And they leave a bunch of people in an assisted living facility
[00:40:03] [SPEAKER_04]: Completely unattended
[00:40:05] [SPEAKER_04]: They're just like
[00:40:07] [SPEAKER_04]: And then there's salsa
[00:40:08] [SPEAKER_04]: We're out of here
[00:40:09] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't understand
[00:40:11] [SPEAKER_03]: Just keep going until I get back
[00:40:12] [SPEAKER_04]: It's a perfect plan if he just pops off
[00:40:14] [SPEAKER_04]: And does the investigation
[00:40:16] [SPEAKER_04]: And she stays
[00:40:17] [SPEAKER_04]: Why didn't they do that
[00:40:19] [SPEAKER_03]: She clearly knows salsa
[00:40:21] [SPEAKER_03]: He clearly doesn't
[00:40:24] [SPEAKER_04]: We've done enough podcasting around here
[00:40:27] [SPEAKER_04]: To know that it takes a little bit of work
[00:40:29] [SPEAKER_04]: We would tell you who produces the show
[00:40:32] [SPEAKER_04]: It's produced by Aaron Shea
[00:40:33] [SPEAKER_04]: We'd tell you a lot about the show
[00:40:34] [SPEAKER_04]: What I can also tell you is this
[00:40:35] [SPEAKER_04]: A super duper famous author
[00:40:39] [SPEAKER_04]: Turned true crime podcaster
[00:40:41] [SPEAKER_04]: Is not in the studio by herself
[00:40:44] [SPEAKER_04]: Laying down bars
[00:40:45] [SPEAKER_04]: She's just not
[00:40:46] [SPEAKER_04]: That is not how that
[00:40:48] [SPEAKER_04]: She doesn't show up and go
[00:40:50] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm going to do a little section where I reveal who the real killer is
[00:40:54] [SPEAKER_04]: By myself unattended
[00:40:56] [SPEAKER_04]: With no producer
[00:40:57] [SPEAKER_04]: Making sure the mics are working
[00:40:58] [SPEAKER_04]: The levels are right
[00:40:59] [SPEAKER_04]: She just rolls in, locks the door
[00:41:01] [SPEAKER_04]: And is like I'm on my own here
[00:41:03] [SPEAKER_04]: No way no how
[00:41:05] [SPEAKER_04]: Maybe the most unbelievable part of this movie
[00:41:07] [SPEAKER_04]: Is that right there
[00:41:08] [SPEAKER_03]: That's all I got
[00:41:08] [SPEAKER_03]: It's time for another Ohmikers where we wonder what could have been
[00:41:11] [SPEAKER_03]: Maybe have it get some clarity
[00:41:12] [SPEAKER_03]: Any questions that we still have
[00:41:13] [SPEAKER_03]: Brian what are you still wondering about that you'd like some answers to
[00:41:15] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah the only thing that really stuck with me
[00:41:18] [SPEAKER_05]: Everything else just seemed to align perfectly
[00:41:21] [SPEAKER_05]: Was how did Laurel get the evidence boxes
[00:41:24] [SPEAKER_05]: Did we get that
[00:41:27] [SPEAKER_05]: She stole them
[00:41:28] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah but how do you get to a place
[00:41:29] [SPEAKER_05]: Where you can just walk out with evidence
[00:41:31] [SPEAKER_05]: I guess
[00:41:33] [SPEAKER_05]: Maybe before they
[00:41:34] [SPEAKER_05]: Well bets were off in the 90s
[00:41:36] [SPEAKER_05]: McGee and me was on TV
[00:41:38] [SPEAKER_05]: It was crazy
[00:41:39] [SPEAKER_05]: Just a lot of access
[00:41:40] [SPEAKER_03]: I guess that was it
[00:41:44] [SPEAKER_03]: They're handing the hallmarks
[00:41:46] [SPEAKER_03]: On platters now because
[00:41:48] [SPEAKER_03]: Paul Campbell
[00:41:50] [SPEAKER_03]: Apparently last time they hung out with a couple
[00:41:53] [SPEAKER_03]: It ended with him
[00:41:55] [SPEAKER_03]: Cutting someone's hair
[00:41:57] [SPEAKER_03]: During a game of charades
[00:41:58] [SPEAKER_03]: Just crazy
[00:41:59] [SPEAKER_03]: I mean what
[00:42:02] [SPEAKER_03]: You just said that line in passing
[00:42:04] [SPEAKER_03]: And you don't expect us to grab it
[00:42:07] [SPEAKER_03]: I wish that was a flashback
[00:42:09] [SPEAKER_03]: Scene because it sounds hilarious
[00:42:10] [SPEAKER_03]: Dano
[00:42:12] [SPEAKER_04]: Maybe I just wrote this down
[00:42:14] [SPEAKER_04]: Don't they call Amy Garcia Birdie a different name
[00:42:17] [SPEAKER_04]: When they come to the door
[00:42:19] [SPEAKER_04]: At the end of the movie
[00:42:20] [SPEAKER_04]: Or is it just her official name
[00:42:22] [SPEAKER_04]: It's her maiden name
[00:42:24] [SPEAKER_04]: Her maiden name
[00:42:25] [SPEAKER_04]: I believe
[00:42:25] [SPEAKER_04]: So if that's the case then my other one was the cutting the hair thing
[00:42:28] [SPEAKER_03]: We did everybody congratulations
[00:42:32] [SPEAKER_03]: Come back tomorrow
[00:42:33] [SPEAKER_03]: For another episode
[00:42:34] [SPEAKER_03]: Who knows what it is
[00:42:35] [SPEAKER_03]: And then Brian you're going to leave the people with your fifth tradition
[00:42:41] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah
[00:42:44] [SPEAKER_05]: The stockings are
[00:42:46] [SPEAKER_05]: Something else
[00:42:47] [SPEAKER_05]: Merry Christmas

[00:43:13] [SPEAKER_03]: Here in the old studio
[00:43:15] [SPEAKER_03]: Thanks for listening
[00:43:17] [SPEAKER_03]: Or don't listen it's really up to you
[00:43:19] [SPEAKER_03]: At this point
[00:43:20] [SPEAKER_03]: It's at the end of the show
[00:43:21] [SPEAKER_03]: I mean you're listening to me hi
[00:43:24] [SPEAKER_03]: But here they come
