[00:00:01] [SPEAKER_01]: Hi, I'm Brann and I love the Chicken Sisters
[00:00:06] [SPEAKER_06]: Hi, I'm Jax and I like the Chicken Sisters. I'm Dan and I despise the Chicken Sisters and this is the Deck The Hallmark Podcast!
[00:00:36] [SPEAKER_01]: To be fair, that's how some people feel when they listen.
[00:00:40] [SPEAKER_01]: Toss?
[00:00:40] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, they're like, oh, Deck The Hallmark, huh?
[00:00:42] [SPEAKER_04]: No, I get it. It was an accident but it was funny and there's something that our hands are tied.
[00:00:46] [SPEAKER_04]: There's nothing we can do. It's produced by Aaron Shea is what I have to say at the end of this.
[00:00:50] [SPEAKER_04]: Happy Friday everybody! Happy double release day for Deck The Hallmark because we are serious content creators.
[00:00:58] [SPEAKER_04]: Yes, we are.
[00:00:59] [SPEAKER_04]: And we are serious critics. If Hallmark's going to put out two episodes in one week, we're journalists, we're critics, we're content creators.
[00:01:07] [SPEAKER_04]: We have nothing, there's nothing that we can do but cover both of them this week. We're very excited about that.
[00:01:14] [SPEAKER_04]: Jax, hello, welcome back! It's been a minute.
[00:01:17] [SPEAKER_06]: I'm thrilled to be back even though I was the second choice to cover this series.
[00:01:22] [SPEAKER_01]: I don't know if that's true.
[00:01:24] [SPEAKER_01]: Well, no, that is not...
[00:01:26] [SPEAKER_06]: No, maybe that's not true. Maybe I wasn't second. Maybe I was further down.
[00:01:30] [SPEAKER_01]: Fifth or sixth.
[00:01:31] [SPEAKER_01]: You weren't a part of any of those meetings and there's no way for you to know.
[00:01:34] [SPEAKER_01]: Well, no, what happened was she asked and we said that someone else was doing it. That's why she's saying this.
[00:01:40] [SPEAKER_01]: And then we realized that we should... you were going to do something different on Hallmark Plus and we're like, it makes more sense to switch them.
[00:01:49] [SPEAKER_01]: So...
[00:01:50] [SPEAKER_01]: We told Tyler Hunt to kick rocks because Jax is coming.
[00:01:53] [SPEAKER_04]: Tyler, get it on out of here.
[00:01:55] [SPEAKER_04]: He agreed. He said, I don't know what this show's about. I'll come on. I'll review it with you. And we said, sorry. Sorry, buddy.
[00:02:00] [SPEAKER_01]: At the end of the day, most Hallmark content is for males. But since it said sister in the title, we needed a woman to be on the show.
[00:02:07] [SPEAKER_01]: That's right. We had the thing.
[00:02:07] [SPEAKER_06]: You figured you needed... yeah, yeah. I am a sister.
[00:02:10] [SPEAKER_01]: That's right. Yes.
[00:02:11] [SPEAKER_04]: Well, yeah, if Hallmark's going to branch out, we have to branch out too.
[00:02:14] [SPEAKER_04]: That's right. Yeah, we got to start including everybody.
[00:02:16] [SPEAKER_01]: And also, I'm going to need help because Bran is so in love with Leah Thompson.
[00:02:20] [SPEAKER_01]: Right.
[00:02:20] [SPEAKER_01]: He is... it's crazy. The way he talks about Leah Thompson is not OK for this podcast.
[00:02:26] [SPEAKER_06]: I don't blame you a bit, Bran.
[00:02:29] [SPEAKER_06]: She is a gosh darn delight and she's really shown out in this first episode.
[00:02:35] [SPEAKER_04]: Hey, Brian, did you just turn on the heat, bud?
[00:02:38] [SPEAKER_04]: He just turned on the heat.
[00:02:40] [SPEAKER_04]: He did. It's real cold in our office.
[00:02:41] [SPEAKER_04]: We talked about taking it...
[00:02:43] [SPEAKER_04]: We're not turning the heat on.
[00:02:44] [SPEAKER_04]: We talked about taking it to the tape, doing the chicken search, taking it to the tape.
[00:02:48] [SPEAKER_04]: I said, I don't think I can. I don't think I can.
[00:02:51] [SPEAKER_04]: I have to be able to watch it in privacy.
[00:02:54] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. I mean, do we have any clips of me recording you?
[00:02:56] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you do. We do have clips.
[00:02:57] [SPEAKER_01]: We do have those? All right. Go ahead and cue one of those up.
[00:03:01] [SPEAKER_01]: Wow.
[00:03:04] [SPEAKER_06]: I don't think I've ever heard you talk about a woman.
[00:03:06] [SPEAKER_06]: No, what happened was...
[00:03:09] [SPEAKER_01]: Normally he does this about the dude, so it is weird when Bran does this.
[00:03:13] [SPEAKER_01]: In the next stop, Christmas, the movie with Leah Thompson and the time travel train,
[00:03:20] [SPEAKER_01]: during the preview episode, Bran said Leah Thompson.
[00:03:23] [SPEAKER_01]: And then what did you say after...
[00:03:24] [SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
[00:03:26] [SPEAKER_01]: You went... like you just said, oh my God, Leah Thompson?
[00:03:29] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I said, oh my...
[00:03:29] [SPEAKER_01]: Are you kidding me?
[00:03:30] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[00:03:30] [SPEAKER_01]: And from that point forward, we're like, Bran is obsessed with Leah Thompson.
[00:03:34] [SPEAKER_04]: And I don't know if you know this about us, Jax, but sometimes we say something
[00:03:38] [SPEAKER_04]: and then we just have to double and triple and quadruple down.
[00:03:40] [SPEAKER_01]: You have to. It's like me with Wales.
[00:03:42] [SPEAKER_01]: I say I hate Wales.
[00:03:44] [SPEAKER_01]: It's probably a little bit of an exaggeration, but for this show...
[00:03:46] [SPEAKER_01]: What? Is this an exaggeration?
[00:03:48] [SPEAKER_01]: Is he here even with the chicken sisters? Really?
[00:03:52] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[00:03:52] [SPEAKER_01]: Whale guy is here?
[00:03:53] [SPEAKER_01]: I don't mind chicken to you.
[00:03:54] [SPEAKER_00]: What are you doing on the line?
[00:03:55] [SPEAKER_00]: Just keeping you accountable, bud.
[00:03:57] [SPEAKER_00]: Thanks, buddy.
[00:03:58] [SPEAKER_00]: Accountabilia Whaler Buddies.
[00:03:59] [SPEAKER_00]: Accountabilia Whaler Buddies?
[00:04:00] [SPEAKER_00]: That's exactly right.
[00:04:02] [SPEAKER_00]: So you're saying...
[00:04:02] [SPEAKER_01]: How do you feel about Leah Thompson?
[00:04:04] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh my gosh. Unbelievable.
[00:04:07] [SPEAKER_00]: But you're saying you don't mind? You don't mind Wales?
[00:04:09] [SPEAKER_01]: Wales aren't my favorite, but they're probably not as bad as I've been saying.
[00:04:13] [SPEAKER_00]: OK, it's a start.
[00:04:15] [SPEAKER_00]: It's a start.
[00:04:15] [SPEAKER_00]: They're beautiful creatures.
[00:04:17] [SPEAKER_01]: Thank you, Whale Guy.
[00:04:18] [SPEAKER_01]: They're beautiful creatures.
[00:04:19] [SPEAKER_01]: I don't think Jax knows who Whale Guy is.
[00:04:20] [SPEAKER_01]: That's my favorite part of this.
[00:04:22] [SPEAKER_03]: Imagine Leah Thompson in a whale in a room.
[00:04:25] [SPEAKER_03]: All right.
[00:04:26] [SPEAKER_03]: He's got all of God's best creations.
[00:04:30] [SPEAKER_03]: You know what I mean?
[00:04:32] [SPEAKER_01]: Whale Guy out.
[00:04:34] [SPEAKER_01]: Maybe for good.
[00:04:35] [SPEAKER_01]: Maybe we're retiring Whale Guy right now.
[00:04:38] [SPEAKER_06]: No, no, please don't.
[00:04:38] [SPEAKER_06]: Because although I don't know who Whale Guy is,
[00:04:41] [SPEAKER_06]: I would say that was one of the more realistic characterizations.
[00:04:44] [SPEAKER_06]: And I appreciate it.
[00:04:45] [SPEAKER_01]: Here's the whole thing with Whale Guy.
[00:04:47] [SPEAKER_01]: I say something mean about whales and it turns out we have a guy on the line
[00:04:51] [SPEAKER_01]: who is there to talk about whales being awesome.
[00:04:53] [SPEAKER_01]: He's a whale expert.
[00:04:54] [SPEAKER_01]: That's the extent of it.
[00:04:57] [SPEAKER_01]: It doesn't go any deeper than that.
[00:04:58] [SPEAKER_01]: That's it.
[00:04:59] [SPEAKER_01]: We've been doing it for a decade.
[00:05:02] [SPEAKER_01]: You've heard one.
[00:05:03] [SPEAKER_04]: You've heard them all.
[00:05:03] [SPEAKER_04]: That's right.
[00:05:04] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
[00:05:04] [SPEAKER_04]: We were very excited, though.
[00:05:06] [SPEAKER_04]: Chicken Sisters launched on Tuesday alongside Hallmark Plus,
[00:05:10] [SPEAKER_04]: and it all happened smoothly, it seemed, the launch of that app.
[00:05:15] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, it did.
[00:05:16] [SPEAKER_04]: We've already talked about the Jane.
[00:05:18] [SPEAKER_04]: We've talked about the Dune Bay.
[00:05:20] [SPEAKER_04]: And it all leads to this.
[00:05:22] [SPEAKER_01]: That's right.
[00:05:23] [SPEAKER_01]: The new big show.
[00:05:24] [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, look, Jane mysteries, Love on the Day and You,
[00:05:26] [SPEAKER_01]: these are big, but the cast of Chicken Sisters,
[00:05:30] [SPEAKER_01]: Wendy Malik, Leah Thompson.
[00:05:32] [SPEAKER_01]: This is the big show, right?
[00:05:35] [SPEAKER_01]: I think so.
[00:05:37] [SPEAKER_06]: And am I saying her name right?
[00:05:39] [SPEAKER_06]: Schoolyard Fisk, Sissy Space X daughter?
[00:05:41] [SPEAKER_01]: Is it Schoolyard?
[00:05:43] [SPEAKER_01]: I thought it was Schuyler, but I don't know.
[00:05:44] [SPEAKER_06]: Schuyler?
[00:05:44] [SPEAKER_06]: No, you're probably right.
[00:05:46] [SPEAKER_06]: I really just know it from reading it.
[00:05:48] [SPEAKER_01]: That's Sissy Space X daughter.
[00:05:50] [SPEAKER_06]: It's Sissy Space X daughter.
[00:05:52] [SPEAKER_01]: That makes a ton of sense.
[00:05:54] [SPEAKER_06]: And Genevieve Engelson, she did the Broadway cast
[00:05:58] [SPEAKER_06]: of Vanya and Sonya, Masha and Spike.
[00:06:00] [SPEAKER_06]: She played Nina, a role that I went on.
[00:06:03] [SPEAKER_06]: For critical acclaim at a regional production,
[00:06:05] [SPEAKER_06]: not quite Broadway, but whatever.
[00:06:07] [SPEAKER_01]: Not quite Broadway, NQB.
[00:06:10] [SPEAKER_01]: Regional production.
[00:06:12] [SPEAKER_01]: All the way in Florida.
[00:06:13] [SPEAKER_01]: It was if you go to Broadway and you take a right
[00:06:16] [SPEAKER_01]: and you go about 2,000 miles down on your left.
[00:06:20] [SPEAKER_04]: Florida is the Broadway of the South.
[00:06:22] [SPEAKER_01]: I've always said that.
[00:06:22] [SPEAKER_06]: That's what they say.
[00:06:27] [SPEAKER_06]: But an incredible cast of actors in this.
[00:06:30] [SPEAKER_06]: I mean, we'll get to it, but Ruki Bernard,
[00:06:31] [SPEAKER_06]: she's one of my favorites.
[00:06:33] [SPEAKER_06]: Ruki Bernard is not even listed.
[00:06:35] [SPEAKER_06]: Come on, that's a darn shame right there.
[00:06:38] [SPEAKER_04]: Hopefully they're going to update the IMDB
[00:06:40] [SPEAKER_04]: because it's a mess out there.
[00:06:42] [SPEAKER_04]: Cardi Wong, yeah.
[00:06:43] [SPEAKER_04]: Did you know anything about the show going into it, Jax?
[00:06:46] [SPEAKER_06]: No, I knew next to nothing.
[00:06:50] [SPEAKER_06]: I did know that Genevieve was in it
[00:06:52] [SPEAKER_06]: because when I Googled the cast,
[00:06:54] [SPEAKER_06]: I was like, why do I feel like I have beef with her?
[00:06:56] [SPEAKER_06]: And I was like, oh, I'm jealous of her.
[00:06:58] [SPEAKER_06]: That's why.
[00:06:59] [SPEAKER_06]: There's no beef.
[00:07:00] [SPEAKER_06]: Genevieve, you're a gosh darn delight.
[00:07:03] [SPEAKER_04]: Well, that's not what I'm picking up.
[00:07:08] [SPEAKER_04]: That was for the Florida show?
[00:07:12] [SPEAKER_06]: Yes, she did.
[00:07:14] [SPEAKER_06]: She did it on Broadway.
[00:07:15] [SPEAKER_01]: She did it next to Broadway.
[00:07:18] [SPEAKER_06]: Next to, just right there.
[00:07:20] [SPEAKER_01]: So close.
[00:07:22] [SPEAKER_06]: So close in Florida.
[00:07:23] [SPEAKER_01]: So close.
[00:07:25] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I can see why.
[00:07:27] [SPEAKER_04]: Maybe there would be some beef.
[00:07:28] [SPEAKER_01]: Well, here in South Carolina,
[00:07:31] [SPEAKER_01]: we have Myrtle Beach, and in Myrtle Beach,
[00:07:34] [SPEAKER_01]: one of the beaches in South Carolina,
[00:07:38] [SPEAKER_01]: there is Broadway at the beach,
[00:07:40] [SPEAKER_01]: which we all know of.
[00:07:42] [SPEAKER_01]: So you could, in theory,
[00:07:43] [SPEAKER_01]: if you did a play there, Jax,
[00:07:45] [SPEAKER_01]: you can hang out with us and then say that
[00:07:47] [SPEAKER_01]: you were on Broadway at the beach.
[00:07:49] [SPEAKER_06]: I would be happy to do that.
[00:07:51] [SPEAKER_06]: Just let them know if they're hiring.
[00:07:55] [SPEAKER_04]: This is my friend Jax.
[00:07:56] [SPEAKER_04]: She's been on Broadway.
[00:07:57] [SPEAKER_04]: She's been on Broadway at the beach.
[00:07:59] [SPEAKER_01]: Broadway at the beach.
[00:08:01] [SPEAKER_01]: And maybe if you were at a playhouse across the street,
[00:08:04] [SPEAKER_01]: you could be off Broadway at the beach.
[00:08:05] [SPEAKER_04]: Off Broadway at the beach.
[00:08:07] [SPEAKER_04]: You just kind of cough at the beach.
[00:08:09] [SPEAKER_04]: I've been on Broadway at the beach.
[00:08:15] [SPEAKER_04]: Broadway at the beach.
[00:08:16] [SPEAKER_04]: That's exactly right.
[00:08:17] [SPEAKER_04]: Shall we talk, Chicken Sisters, season one, episode one?
[00:08:19] [SPEAKER_04]: I think we should.
[00:08:20] [SPEAKER_04]: It's called?
[00:08:22] [SPEAKER_04]: You betcha!
[00:08:26] [SPEAKER_04]: Jax, it's called?
[00:08:29] [SPEAKER_06]: Chicken or Tofu.
[00:08:31] [SPEAKER_04]: Both good guesses.
[00:08:32] [SPEAKER_04]: It's called Family is Family.
[00:08:36] [SPEAKER_04]: And originally premiered on Home Mart Plus,
[00:08:38] [SPEAKER_04]: September 10th, 2024,
[00:08:39] [SPEAKER_04]: and it went a little something like this.
[00:08:42] [SPEAKER_04]: Welcome to Maranac, y'all.
[00:08:43] [SPEAKER_04]: A small town where people know their neighbors
[00:08:46] [SPEAKER_04]: and people are nice.
[00:08:48] [SPEAKER_04]: To your face.
[00:08:51] [SPEAKER_04]: Ain't that right.
[00:08:52] [SPEAKER_04]: There's two chicken stores in this small town.
[00:08:54] [SPEAKER_04]: You might think that's too many.
[00:08:55] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't think it's enough.
[00:08:57] [SPEAKER_04]: We got Mimi's, we got Franny's,
[00:08:59] [SPEAKER_04]: and both of those restaurants were born out of a family rift
[00:09:02] [SPEAKER_04]: a long time ago,
[00:09:04] [SPEAKER_04]: which has turned into a serious rivalry
[00:09:06] [SPEAKER_04]: still to this day.
[00:09:08] [SPEAKER_04]: The folks in town take sides.
[00:09:10] [SPEAKER_04]: You're either a Franny's person or you're a Mimi's person.
[00:09:13] [SPEAKER_04]: It's serious business.
[00:09:14] [SPEAKER_04]: Dan, who are you?
[00:09:15] [SPEAKER_04]: Mimi's.
[00:09:16] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm a Franny.
[00:09:18] [SPEAKER_04]: Jax?
[00:09:19] [SPEAKER_06]: I'm a Mimi's person.
[00:09:22] [SPEAKER_06]: Erin?
[00:09:25] [SPEAKER_06]: Mimi?
[00:09:26] [SPEAKER_04]: Brian?
[00:09:30] [SPEAKER_04]: He said Franny's.
[00:09:34] [SPEAKER_04]: So it's pretty serious business
[00:09:36] [SPEAKER_04]: as it is here in the office as well.
[00:09:38] [SPEAKER_04]: We've all taken sides.
[00:09:39] [SPEAKER_04]: I've not talked to Brand since.
[00:09:42] [SPEAKER_01]: And Jax, if you could tell Brand.
[00:09:44] [SPEAKER_04]: Well, I'm not talking to her.
[00:09:46] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm not talking to any of you apparently in here.
[00:09:48] [SPEAKER_04]: This is just for you at home.
[00:09:50] [SPEAKER_04]: This is all from a Franny folk at home.
[00:09:52] [SPEAKER_04]: A BSB.
[00:09:56] [SPEAKER_01]: You can't say that on the show.
[00:09:58] [SPEAKER_01]: You did.
[00:09:59] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't know what you want to do about it.
[00:10:01] [SPEAKER_01]: We're going to take it out.
[00:10:03] [SPEAKER_01]: Sorry.
[00:10:04] [SPEAKER_04]: It's hard to say.
[00:10:07] [SPEAKER_04]: It's a little bit late.
[00:10:10] [SPEAKER_04]: We can try it again if you want.
[00:10:12] [SPEAKER_04]: Go one more time.
[00:10:15] You b******.
[00:10:15] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, wow.
[00:10:17] [SPEAKER_04]: Maybe it came in a little bit too soon.
[00:10:18] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't know.
[00:10:25] [SPEAKER_03]: We're having fun, aren't we?
[00:10:28] [SPEAKER_04]: So we meet Amanda
[00:10:30] [SPEAKER_04]: who works at Franny's
[00:10:33] [SPEAKER_04]: despite her mom
[00:10:34] [SPEAKER_04]: running Mimi's.
[00:10:37] [SPEAKER_04]: And that's a pretty big deal.
[00:10:39] [SPEAKER_04]: The reason why she left
[00:10:40] [SPEAKER_04]: Mimi's and her mom
[00:10:42] [SPEAKER_04]: is because she met
[00:10:43] [SPEAKER_04]: a Franny's boy.
[00:10:46] [SPEAKER_04]: And once you marry a Franny's boy
[00:10:49] [SPEAKER_04]: there's no turning back.
[00:10:51] [SPEAKER_04]: Her mom told her that
[00:10:53] [SPEAKER_04]: she made her choice.
[00:10:56] [SPEAKER_04]: No going back on that.
[00:10:57] [SPEAKER_04]: Years later, Amanda is less than happy.
[00:11:00] [SPEAKER_04]: You know,
[00:11:01] [SPEAKER_04]: she's having a tough time running.
[00:11:03] [SPEAKER_04]: She's helping run the restaurant.
[00:11:04] [SPEAKER_04]: Her marriage is meh.
[00:11:06] [SPEAKER_04]: Who can say?
[00:11:07] [SPEAKER_04]: She's just feeling a little sad.
[00:11:10] [SPEAKER_04]: And so she's scrolling the socials
[00:11:12] [SPEAKER_04]: as you do at night.
[00:11:13] [SPEAKER_04]: And she sees a video calling for
[00:11:17] [SPEAKER_04]: boring restaurants to apply for the next
[00:11:19] [SPEAKER_04]: season of Kitchen Clash.
[00:11:22] [SPEAKER_04]: On a whim
[00:11:23] [SPEAKER_04]: she applies and they
[00:11:25] [SPEAKER_04]: find out that they are
[00:11:27] [SPEAKER_04]: in. The problem?
[00:11:29] [SPEAKER_04]: Amanda hasn't talked to her mama
[00:11:30] [SPEAKER_04]: in years.
[00:11:33] [SPEAKER_04]: She's going to have to get her on board
[00:11:35] [SPEAKER_04]: if they're going to actually
[00:11:37] [SPEAKER_04]: do this thing.
[00:11:39] [SPEAKER_04]: It's going to be an uphill battle.
[00:11:40] [SPEAKER_04]: Her mom says that she will do it
[00:11:43] [SPEAKER_04]: but she's going to need her daughter by her side.
[00:11:45] [SPEAKER_04]: Her real daughter, not Amanda.
[00:11:47] [SPEAKER_04]: She's going to need her other daughter,
[00:11:49] [SPEAKER_04]: Mae. Mae doesn't do chicken anymore.
[00:11:52] [SPEAKER_04]: She has a TV show
[00:11:53] [SPEAKER_04]: called Sparkling
[00:11:55] [SPEAKER_04]: where she goes in with her partner
[00:11:57] [SPEAKER_04]: and they organize houses.
[00:12:00] [SPEAKER_04]: Amanda tries to convince
[00:12:01] [SPEAKER_04]: her big city sister
[00:12:03] [SPEAKER_04]: to come back to that small town.
[00:12:05] [SPEAKER_04]: She's not interested in coming back.
[00:12:08] [SPEAKER_04]: She's kind of embarrassed
[00:12:09] [SPEAKER_04]: by it all. There's a new
[00:12:11] [SPEAKER_04]: guy working at Mimi's
[00:12:13] [SPEAKER_04]: called Sergio.
[00:12:14] [SPEAKER_04]: Anytime he's around, the tension between Amanda
[00:12:17] [SPEAKER_04]: and Sergio is off to charts.
[00:12:18] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't know what to do with that because
[00:12:20] [SPEAKER_04]: she's married but this is Hallmark Plus.
[00:12:23] [SPEAKER_04]: Maybe Hallmark Plus is pro affair.
[00:12:26] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't know.
[00:12:26] [SPEAKER_04]: They don't have a bleep button on Hallmark Plus.
[00:12:30] [SPEAKER_04]: They come up with an idea
[00:12:31] [SPEAKER_04]: or she comes up with
[00:12:32] [SPEAKER_04]: her and Sergio come up with this idea
[00:12:34] [SPEAKER_04]: that maybe if they tell
[00:12:36] [SPEAKER_04]: her mom that they're going to split
[00:12:39] [SPEAKER_04]: it evenly no matter who wins
[00:12:41] [SPEAKER_04]: or loses, she would be more prone
[00:12:43] [SPEAKER_04]: to say yes without Mae being involved
[00:12:45] [SPEAKER_04]: in the show. Frank Jr. is like
[00:12:47] [SPEAKER_04]: hard pass. I'm not giving up 50% of my
[00:12:49] [SPEAKER_04]: money that I'm going to win because
[00:12:51] [SPEAKER_04]: Franny's is better.
[00:12:54] [SPEAKER_04]: So deal's done
[00:12:55] [SPEAKER_04]: right? No. Frank Jr. tells the TV crew
[00:12:57] [SPEAKER_04]: to come anyway. It's going to be harder
[00:12:59] [SPEAKER_04]: for her to say no
[00:13:01] [SPEAKER_04]: if the crew is already here but you know who
[00:13:03] [SPEAKER_04]: else comes anyway? Mae comes
[00:13:05] [SPEAKER_04]: anyway. After finding out that the network
[00:13:07] [SPEAKER_04]: doesn't want her to be a part of the show anymore
[00:13:09] [SPEAKER_04]: she has a bit of a panic attack and so she decides
[00:13:11] [SPEAKER_04]: she's going to come home anyway and she's going to
[00:13:13] [SPEAKER_04]: make this happen. The episode ends
[00:13:15] [SPEAKER_04]: with Sabrina,
[00:13:17] [SPEAKER_04]: the Teenage Witch and the TV host
[00:13:20] [SPEAKER_04]: counting down
[00:13:21] [SPEAKER_04]: to the start of the show and
[00:13:23] [SPEAKER_04]: the camera begins to
[00:13:25] [SPEAKER_04]: zoom in on all of the big storylines
[00:13:27] [SPEAKER_04]: that are going to be happening this season
[00:13:29] [SPEAKER_04]: and that my friends was
[00:13:31] [SPEAKER_04]: The Chicken Sisters Season 1
[00:13:34] [SPEAKER_04]: Episode 1 Family is
[00:13:35] [SPEAKER_04]: Family
[00:13:37] [SPEAKER_01]: We did it!
[00:13:40] [SPEAKER_04]: Let's take a quick break. We'll come back, we'll break
[00:13:42] [SPEAKER_04]: this episode down here on
[00:13:45] [SPEAKER_04]: Deck the Hallmark
[00:13:56] [SPEAKER_04]: We're back!
[00:13:58] [SPEAKER_04]: Welcome back everybody, we're talking Chicken Sisters
[00:14:00] [SPEAKER_04]: It's finally here!
[00:14:03] [SPEAKER_04]: The day has finally
[00:14:04] [SPEAKER_04]: come for the Chicken Sisters. Yesterday they released
[00:14:05] [SPEAKER_01]: the Hallmark schedule so you know it was just one of those
[00:14:08] [SPEAKER_01]: weeks. Oh buddy I'm sorry
[00:14:09] [SPEAKER_04]: One of those weeks. Tough break for you.
[00:14:11] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh you know you're sorry huh?
[00:14:13] [SPEAKER_04]: Tough break for you. Chicken Sisters Season 1 Episode 1
[00:14:16] [SPEAKER_04]: is what we're talking about today. Family
[00:14:17] [SPEAKER_04]: is Family. Our thoughts on it
[00:14:19] [SPEAKER_04]: let's find out. I'm going to start with Jack
[00:14:21] [SPEAKER_04]: since she is our resident
[00:14:23] [SPEAKER_04]: sister. What
[00:14:25] [SPEAKER_04]: did you think? What did you think
[00:14:27] [SPEAKER_04]: about Season 1 Episode 1 Family's
[00:14:29] [SPEAKER_04]: Family?
[00:14:31] [SPEAKER_06]: Okay so
[00:14:33] [SPEAKER_06]: the first four minutes of
[00:14:35] [SPEAKER_06]: this episode were rough
[00:14:37] [SPEAKER_06]: for me. It felt really
[00:14:39] [SPEAKER_06]: spooky. The thing
[00:14:41] [SPEAKER_06]: it made me feel
[00:14:44] [SPEAKER_06]: dirty and sad inside
[00:14:45] [SPEAKER_06]: the woman was like
[00:14:47] [SPEAKER_06]: they said she was bouncing in front of
[00:14:49] [SPEAKER_06]: the pastor and I was like this feels
[00:14:51] [SPEAKER_06]: very sexual. I don't like Frank
[00:14:53] [SPEAKER_06]: Jr. Not in a way that like
[00:14:56] [SPEAKER_06]: he has any redeemable qualities
[00:14:57] [SPEAKER_06]: there's nothing there. I actually think
[00:14:59] [SPEAKER_06]: he's just a jerk and I don't want him on my screen
[00:15:01] [SPEAKER_06]: but then Rukia Bernard
[00:15:04] [SPEAKER_06]: appears for Kitchen Wars
[00:15:05] [SPEAKER_06]: She's fun! It's
[00:15:07] [SPEAKER_06]: happening and then the rest of the episode
[00:15:09] [SPEAKER_06]: it was just
[00:15:11] [SPEAKER_06]: joy after joy from that point on
[00:15:14] [SPEAKER_06]: so they hooked me
[00:15:15] [SPEAKER_06]: I can't wait for Episode 2. I'm really excited
[00:15:18] [SPEAKER_06]: I think the acting is really good
[00:15:20] [SPEAKER_06]: I think the writing is great. I'm invested in this
[00:15:22] [SPEAKER_06]: story but boy howdy
[00:15:24] [SPEAKER_06]: the first four minutes were rough
[00:15:26] [SPEAKER_06]: for me.
[00:15:28] [SPEAKER_01]: Wow. Interesting
[00:15:30] [SPEAKER_01]: take there. It is an interesting tape
[00:15:31] [SPEAKER_01]: 38 minutes worked for you. 38 out of the
[00:15:34] [SPEAKER_01]: 42. 38 minutes worked but the first four
[00:15:35] [SPEAKER_06]: minutes were rough for me. I was like I would stop watching this
[00:15:37] [SPEAKER_06]: if I didn't have to review with my boys.
[00:15:39] [SPEAKER_04]: Fair enough. I wouldn't have stopped
[00:15:42] [SPEAKER_04]: because I was really enjoying it
[00:15:44] [SPEAKER_04]: Right out of the gate. Listen
[00:15:45] [SPEAKER_04]: I went into this relatively blind
[00:15:47] [SPEAKER_04]: I hadn't watched any of the
[00:15:50] [SPEAKER_04]: trailers, teasers, whatever
[00:15:52] [SPEAKER_04]: I knew the little
[00:15:53] [SPEAKER_04]: synopsis that I had read on one show at some point
[00:15:56] [SPEAKER_04]: but I liked going into these shows
[00:15:57] [SPEAKER_04]: a little blind because
[00:15:58] [SPEAKER_04]: it's kind of fun. We had fun with The Way Home
[00:16:01] [SPEAKER_04]: going into it. We didn't know it was a time travel show.
[00:16:03] [SPEAKER_04]: We were like how did you not know?
[00:16:04] [SPEAKER_04]: That's the fun of it. You go in blind
[00:16:06] [SPEAKER_04]: people might think we're lazy and maybe
[00:16:09] [SPEAKER_04]: but I say it's better to go in blind
[00:16:11] [SPEAKER_04]: so you don't have expectations.
[00:16:13] [SPEAKER_04]: I went in blind as a bat
[00:16:15] [SPEAKER_04]: is long
[00:16:16] [SPEAKER_04]: and that's, you get what I'm saying
[00:16:19] [SPEAKER_04]: and it's a really long
[00:16:21] [SPEAKER_04]: bat is what I'm trying to say.
[00:16:22] [SPEAKER_04]: Sammy Sosa.
[00:16:26] [SPEAKER_04]: So I was
[00:16:28] [SPEAKER_04]: pleasantly surprised
[00:16:29] [SPEAKER_04]: I thought that it was quick
[00:16:31] [SPEAKER_04]: I thought that it was funny. I thought that it was a little bit
[00:16:34] [SPEAKER_04]: scandalous
[00:16:35] [SPEAKER_04]: Hallmark Plus out here just
[00:16:37] [SPEAKER_04]: doing stuff right out of
[00:16:39] [SPEAKER_04]: the gate and to Jack's point
[00:16:41] [SPEAKER_04]: Jack's felt a little dirty watching it. I felt like
[00:16:43] [SPEAKER_04]: is this a Hallmark?
[00:16:45] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't know what's going on. You used to use the dirty boy. I'm a dirty boy
[00:16:47] [SPEAKER_04]: and so it didn't bother me
[00:16:49] [SPEAKER_04]: but I can understand. I think there might be
[00:16:51] [SPEAKER_04]: some people that are used to their
[00:16:53] [SPEAKER_04]: squeaky clean Hallmark that might put this on
[00:16:55] [SPEAKER_04]: and be like am I in the right place?
[00:16:59] [SPEAKER_04]: This is Hallmark Plus maybe?
[00:17:00] [SPEAKER_04]: This is Hallmark Plus and the plus
[00:17:02] [SPEAKER_04]: is a handful
[00:17:04] [SPEAKER_04]: of hells, some sexual
[00:17:06] [SPEAKER_04]: innuendo and a real good time
[00:17:08] [SPEAKER_04]: so overall really
[00:17:10] [SPEAKER_04]: pleads with episode one
[00:17:12] [SPEAKER_04]: of the chicken sisters. Family is family. I've always said that.
[00:17:14] [SPEAKER_01]: Dano? I saw a blad
[00:17:15] [SPEAKER_01]: as a bat as long
[00:17:17] [SPEAKER_01]: on off Broadway at the beach
[00:17:19] [SPEAKER_01]: and it was fantastic.
[00:17:22] [SPEAKER_01]: Blad is the, that's the word blather.
[00:17:24] [SPEAKER_01]: I also wrote down four minutes
[00:17:25] [SPEAKER_01]: in my hot take. It is
[00:17:27] [SPEAKER_01]: in the first four minutes you get two dams
[00:17:30] [SPEAKER_01]: and two hells
[00:17:32] [SPEAKER_01]: in the first four minutes of this television
[00:17:33] [SPEAKER_01]: program. I couldn't believe it.
[00:17:36] [SPEAKER_01]: I know. Yeah, it serves us
[00:17:38] [SPEAKER_01]: right. The first
[00:17:40] [SPEAKER_01]: first four minutes
[00:17:41] [SPEAKER_01]: Hallmark is letting you know
[00:17:43] [SPEAKER_01]: welcome to Hallmark Plus. This
[00:17:45] [SPEAKER_01]: is not the show that would be airing
[00:17:47] [SPEAKER_01]: on Hallmark. We're going to kind of
[00:17:49] [SPEAKER_01]: do our own thing here.
[00:17:52] [SPEAKER_01]: There's sexual tension between
[00:17:54] [SPEAKER_01]: two people that one of them is
[00:17:56] [SPEAKER_01]: married, also something you wouldn't see on Hallmark.
[00:17:58] [SPEAKER_01]: All of that was kind
[00:18:00] [SPEAKER_01]: of shocking and jarring.
[00:18:02] [SPEAKER_01]: I think by and large this show
[00:18:04] [SPEAKER_01]: does what it's trying to do. It's not
[00:18:06] [SPEAKER_01]: for me but
[00:18:07] [SPEAKER_01]: it's a show that is, and it's accomplishing
[00:18:10] [SPEAKER_01]: what it's setting out to do because the acting
[00:18:12] [SPEAKER_01]: is by and large
[00:18:14] [SPEAKER_01]: really really good. I actually think the only southern
[00:18:16] [SPEAKER_01]: accent that doesn't
[00:18:18] [SPEAKER_01]: sound authentic to me is Leah Thompson's
[00:18:20] [SPEAKER_01]: Byte your time!
[00:18:22] [SPEAKER_01]: Listen, Leah Thompson is a national treasure
[00:18:24] [SPEAKER_01]: but from a standpoint of this show
[00:18:26] [SPEAKER_01]: supposed to take place in the south, they don't ever give a
[00:18:28] [SPEAKER_01]: state but they say the south numerous
[00:18:30] [SPEAKER_01]: times in the show.
[00:18:32] [SPEAKER_01]: And you feel that. Skylar
[00:18:34] [SPEAKER_01]: Fisk is my favorite.
[00:18:36] [SPEAKER_01]: She's unbelievable in this show.
[00:18:38] [SPEAKER_01]: She's really really good. Wendy
[00:18:39] [SPEAKER_01]: Malik always great, especially
[00:18:42] [SPEAKER_01]: great here.
[00:18:44] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I'm not saying when it ended
[00:18:45] [SPEAKER_01]: I was where Bram was who was literally clapping
[00:18:47] [SPEAKER_01]: when the episode ended. But I wasn't
[00:18:50] [SPEAKER_01]: mad. You know when Ride happened I was
[00:18:52] [SPEAKER_01]: mad. This is definitely not Ride.
[00:18:54] [SPEAKER_01]: It is a show that
[00:18:56] [SPEAKER_01]: Even though Tough from Tough and the Toughtones
[00:18:58] [SPEAKER_01]: is in this show. Yes, Tough from the Toughtones is
[00:18:59] [SPEAKER_01]: in this show. Again, they have
[00:19:02] [SPEAKER_01]: one dude who is southern
[00:19:04] [SPEAKER_01]: and gay that they can put in these shows
[00:19:06] [SPEAKER_01]: clearly. They have found the one. And they have found
[00:19:08] [SPEAKER_01]: him and they're going to use him.
[00:19:11] [SPEAKER_01]: So Tough's in here.
[00:19:12] [SPEAKER_01]: This show is better than Ride. I care
[00:19:14] [SPEAKER_01]: about the characters enough to be interested
[00:19:16] [SPEAKER_01]: to keep watching although if it was
[00:19:17] [SPEAKER_01]: if I was not reviewing it for this show
[00:19:20] [SPEAKER_01]: it probably would have been a one and done.
[00:19:21] [SPEAKER_01]: But the acting is good. The drama
[00:19:24] [SPEAKER_01]: is there. Rukia Bernard
[00:19:25] [SPEAKER_01]: didn't know she was going to be in the show.
[00:19:28] [SPEAKER_01]: She's clearly going to be a lot of fun.
[00:19:30] [SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, a lot of positives here.
[00:19:31] [SPEAKER_06]: You wouldn't give it one more go after this one?
[00:19:34] [SPEAKER_01]: No, I wouldn't.
[00:19:37] [SPEAKER_06]: With everything
[00:19:38] [SPEAKER_06]: you said Dan, everything you said Bram
[00:19:39] [SPEAKER_06]: I sound like a prude.
[00:19:42] [SPEAKER_06]: I'm not a prude.
[00:19:43] [SPEAKER_01]: When Jax comes to visit we've got to watch our
[00:19:46] [SPEAKER_01]: language. That's the first thing.
[00:19:48] [SPEAKER_01]: We've got to watch our language. And then also
[00:19:50] [SPEAKER_01]: just how we speak because things
[00:19:52] [SPEAKER_01]: can be, she just, yeah it's tough with Jax.
[00:19:54] [SPEAKER_04]: Bring the soap in. Well, we'll chew on the
[00:19:56] [SPEAKER_01]: soap for the next second. I called him an uppity
[00:19:58] [SPEAKER_01]: AB earlier. I'm really sorry about that.
[00:20:00] It's tough.
[00:20:02] [SPEAKER_04]: It hurt. It hurt too.
[00:20:04] [SPEAKER_06]: It hurt. It hurt.
[00:20:05] [SPEAKER_04]: Let's get to the feels. We're talking about what in this episode gave us
[00:20:08] [SPEAKER_04]: feels. Jax?
[00:20:13] [SPEAKER_06]: I
[00:20:14] [SPEAKER_06]: got some sad
[00:20:16] [SPEAKER_06]: feels but I really like the way it landed
[00:20:18] [SPEAKER_06]: when Wendy Malik
[00:20:20] [SPEAKER_06]: tells Amanda
[00:20:21] [SPEAKER_06]: to get her daughter
[00:20:24] [SPEAKER_06]: and she's talking about
[00:20:26] [SPEAKER_06]: May. I was like
[00:20:28] [SPEAKER_06]: oh woof because you saw it to your point
[00:20:30] [SPEAKER_06]: Dan of how good Skylar Fisk
[00:20:32] [SPEAKER_06]: is in this. You just see this
[00:20:34] [SPEAKER_06]: quick little moment that she has
[00:20:36] [SPEAKER_06]: where she's like oh wow
[00:20:38] [SPEAKER_06]: my mom's coming around to me again.
[00:20:40] [SPEAKER_06]: It's not a big moment. It's so
[00:20:42] [SPEAKER_06]: tiny but it's just so beautiful.
[00:20:44] [SPEAKER_06]: And then I had
[00:20:47] [SPEAKER_06]: laughing feels.
[00:20:48] [SPEAKER_06]: Humorous feels.
[00:20:50] [SPEAKER_06]: Probably one of my
[00:20:52] [SPEAKER_06]: favorite lines I have ever
[00:20:54] [SPEAKER_06]: heard on Hallmark
[00:20:56] [SPEAKER_06]: Channel which is when Amanda
[00:20:58] [SPEAKER_06]: is talking to her sister May on the phone and
[00:21:00] [SPEAKER_06]: May is talking about
[00:21:02] [SPEAKER_06]: boundaries and Amanda
[00:21:04] [SPEAKER_06]: says well somebody's insurance covers
[00:21:06] [SPEAKER_06]: therapy. I thought it was chef's kiss.
[00:21:08] [SPEAKER_06]: Brilliant. So funny.
[00:21:11] [SPEAKER_06]: Love that moment and I want more
[00:21:12] [SPEAKER_06]: of where that's coming from and I think this show is going to
[00:21:14] [SPEAKER_06]: deliver that for us.
[00:21:17] [SPEAKER_04]: The sad
[00:21:18] [SPEAKER_04]: feels that you mentioned.
[00:21:20] [SPEAKER_04]: I think part of what makes it so great is
[00:21:22] [SPEAKER_04]: it's not like May's around
[00:21:24] [SPEAKER_04]: right? Like May still chose to
[00:21:26] [SPEAKER_04]: leave the family
[00:21:28] [SPEAKER_04]: but the fact that she
[00:21:30] [SPEAKER_04]: can come back because it doesn't really matter
[00:21:32] [SPEAKER_04]: what she did as long as she doesn't
[00:21:34] [SPEAKER_04]: go to Franny's.
[00:21:37] [SPEAKER_04]: To Franny's.
[00:21:38] [SPEAKER_04]: That's the thing. Like the only
[00:21:40] [SPEAKER_04]: way that you could get out of my good graces is by going to Franny's.
[00:21:43] [SPEAKER_04]: And that's tough.
[00:21:44] [SPEAKER_04]: That's a tough break over there.
[00:21:47] [SPEAKER_04]: Listen, I don't, again
[00:21:48] [SPEAKER_04]: we're one episode in, I don't know where this
[00:21:51] [SPEAKER_04]: Amanda Sergio
[00:21:52] [SPEAKER_04]: thing is gonna go.
[00:21:54] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't know if it was
[00:22:01] [SPEAKER_04]: It's not what I'm used to
[00:22:03] [SPEAKER_04]: with Hallmark and so I'm like
[00:22:05] [SPEAKER_04]: maybe I'm misreading it.
[00:22:06] [SPEAKER_04]: Maybe I'm off base here.
[00:22:09] [SPEAKER_01]: I misread it. It was in large print and all highlighted.
[00:22:12] [SPEAKER_01]: I know!
[00:22:13] [SPEAKER_01]: Like if I have a critique, it's not that they're doing this
[00:22:15] [SPEAKER_01]: good for them for doing it.
[00:22:17] [SPEAKER_01]: It's that they meant to sprinkle in a little bit of
[00:22:20] [SPEAKER_01]: possible tension and they just dumped
[00:22:21] [SPEAKER_01]: the whole bucket in. Like it is literally
[00:22:25] [SPEAKER_01]: unmissable
[00:22:25] [SPEAKER_01]: these two.
[00:22:27] [SPEAKER_01]: Like locking eyes, running into each other.
[00:22:30] [SPEAKER_01]: It's crazy how hard they go
[00:22:31] [SPEAKER_01]: this early with it.
[00:22:34] [SPEAKER_04]: Listen, I will
[00:22:36] [SPEAKER_04]: you know
[00:22:37] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm not expecting anything. It's still Hallmark.
[00:22:40] [SPEAKER_04]: You don't think they're getting together?
[00:22:41] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't know! I don't know
[00:22:43] [SPEAKER_04]: how they, they're not allowed
[00:22:45] [SPEAKER_04]: on Hallmark. I don't think they're allowed.
[00:22:47] [SPEAKER_04]: I think the FCC is gonna get complaints.
[00:22:49] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't know how they're gonna do this.
[00:22:52] [SPEAKER_04]: It's like it'll be like
[00:22:54] [SPEAKER_04]: on the FCC like
[00:22:55] [SPEAKER_04]: how many complaints they've gotten.
[00:22:57] [SPEAKER_04]: It's gonna be the Janet Jackson and then this.
[00:23:00] [SPEAKER_04]: And that and I don't really know
[00:23:01] [SPEAKER_04]: what to do. No one's called
[00:23:03] [SPEAKER_04]: that Super Bowl.
[00:23:04] [SPEAKER_06]: The interesting thing is though, Hallmark
[00:23:07] [SPEAKER_06]: doesn't really have a problem with
[00:23:09] [SPEAKER_06]: infidelity if they're just
[00:23:11] [SPEAKER_06]: dating or engaged. But these
[00:23:13] [SPEAKER_06]: two are married and maybe Hallmark
[00:23:14] [SPEAKER_06]: plus is like they're married
[00:23:16] [SPEAKER_06]: with a daughter. They have a daughter.
[00:23:19] [SPEAKER_04]: They're married.
[00:23:20] [SPEAKER_04]: We see them sharing
[00:23:22] [SPEAKER_04]: a bed together which is like well this
[00:23:25] [SPEAKER_04]: is clear. We're not watching I Love Lucy anymore.
[00:23:27] [SPEAKER_04]: Like it's, it's, it's I don't know what to
[00:23:29] [SPEAKER_01]: do. I don't know what to do with this.
[00:23:30] [SPEAKER_01]: They go to great lengths not only to make
[00:23:32] [SPEAKER_01]: Sergio and her, their chemistry off the charts,
[00:23:35] [SPEAKER_01]: but also to make Frank Junior
[00:23:37] [SPEAKER_01]: the worst. The worst person.
[00:23:40] [SPEAKER_01]: And I think that's how you know.
[00:23:42] [SPEAKER_06]: And she is incredibly
[00:23:44] [SPEAKER_06]: horned up and he won't give her the time of day.
[00:23:46] [SPEAKER_04]: I like yeah, I don't know what to do with this.
[00:23:48] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't know what to do with this.
[00:23:49] [SPEAKER_04]: And I think that just that feeling
[00:23:51] [SPEAKER_04]: of not knowing what to do with this is my feels.
[00:23:53] [SPEAKER_04]: Like I like honestly not knowing
[00:23:55] [SPEAKER_04]: how Hallmark's gonna handle this situation
[00:23:57] [SPEAKER_01]: is exciting. They even say
[00:23:59] [SPEAKER_01]: they even intimate in this show that
[00:24:01] [SPEAKER_01]: the reason they get married is because they were
[00:24:03] [SPEAKER_01]: young and they wanted to have sex.
[00:24:05] [SPEAKER_01]: That's why like literally they say it
[00:24:07] [SPEAKER_01]: in the show. Which I loved.
[00:24:09] [SPEAKER_01]: Yes, oh I loved it too but
[00:24:11] [SPEAKER_01]: just so you know if you're listening to this
[00:24:13] [SPEAKER_01]: and haven't watched the Chicken Sisters yet
[00:24:15] [SPEAKER_01]: this is what you're getting into.
[00:24:17] [SPEAKER_01]: You're not 100 percent. You're not
[00:24:18] [SPEAKER_01]: this is not a Hallmark show.
[00:24:21] [SPEAKER_01]: Right. It just isn't. It's a lot.
[00:24:23] [SPEAKER_01]: Uh Dana? Yeah there is what
[00:24:25] [SPEAKER_01]: the actual best actor here
[00:24:26] [SPEAKER_01]: uh is no one that I've mentioned
[00:24:29] [SPEAKER_01]: in my hot take. This show which
[00:24:31] [SPEAKER_01]: Brain did you mention this show as a narrator
[00:24:33] [SPEAKER_01]: in your in your? I did not. Okay.
[00:24:35] [SPEAKER_01]: This show has a narrator and it doesn't have just any
[00:24:37] [SPEAKER_01]: narrator. It has
[00:24:39] [SPEAKER_01]: an absolute legend
[00:24:41] [SPEAKER_01]: of the screen
[00:24:43] [SPEAKER_01]: as the narrator. It's Margo Martindale
[00:24:45] [SPEAKER_01]: who is in two of
[00:24:47] [SPEAKER_01]: my favorite television shows of all time
[00:24:49] [SPEAKER_01]: Justified and The Americans.
[00:24:51] [SPEAKER_01]: She is amazing.
[00:24:54] [SPEAKER_01]: Her narration
[00:24:55] [SPEAKER_01]: takes this show from a
[00:24:57] [SPEAKER_01]: C- to a B-plus by
[00:24:59] [SPEAKER_01]: herself. It's
[00:25:01] [SPEAKER_01]: she's so good as a narrator in this
[00:25:03] [SPEAKER_01]: she's even does this thing
[00:25:05] [SPEAKER_01]: where she tells you she's pretty much omniscient
[00:25:07] [SPEAKER_01]: so she knows what's going to happen. The narration
[00:25:09] [SPEAKER_01]: here is great. Margo Martindale
[00:25:11] [SPEAKER_01]: makes it just
[00:25:14] [SPEAKER_01]: exponentially better. I love
[00:25:15] [SPEAKER_01]: a narrator. Loved that she was doing
[00:25:17] [SPEAKER_01]: this as a narration. She crushes
[00:25:19] [SPEAKER_04]: it. I like that Dan
[00:25:21] [SPEAKER_01]: I like that a lot. Did you know that Margo Martindale
[00:25:23] [SPEAKER_01]: was the narrator? Uh Jax?
[00:25:25] [SPEAKER_06]: Oh no I didn't.
[00:25:27] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh my gosh. The best.
[00:25:29] [SPEAKER_06]: I will say that
[00:25:31] [SPEAKER_06]: narrators can go terribly
[00:25:33] [SPEAKER_06]: wrong off the rails but you're
[00:25:35] [SPEAKER_06]: absolutely right that this is
[00:25:37] [SPEAKER_06]: a narration and show done
[00:25:39] [SPEAKER_01]: so well. But it also lends it
[00:25:41] [SPEAKER_01]: credibility because Margo Martindale is southern
[00:25:43] [SPEAKER_01]: She's got
[00:25:44] [SPEAKER_01]: southern cred and so that
[00:25:46] [SPEAKER_01]: narration lends it some real
[00:25:48] [SPEAKER_01]: sometimes one of my first
[00:25:51] [SPEAKER_01]: early memories of being like I don't want to make
[00:25:53] [SPEAKER_01]: this podcast anymore was when we saw the Mark
[00:25:55] [SPEAKER_01]: Blukas Texas barbecue movie with
[00:25:57] [SPEAKER_01]: Autumn Racer and it was like
[00:25:59] [SPEAKER_01]: they're clearly in Canada. No one
[00:26:01] [SPEAKER_01]: knows how to talk about football or
[00:26:03] [SPEAKER_01]: smokers or
[00:26:04] [SPEAKER_01]: beef brisket or and it was like
[00:26:07] [SPEAKER_01]: what are they trying to do? And so
[00:26:09] [SPEAKER_01]: when I first heard about the chicken sisters
[00:26:11] [SPEAKER_01]: my thought was they're going to Canada this thing up
[00:26:13] [SPEAKER_01]: the whole way but no it actually
[00:26:15] [SPEAKER_01]: does have a good good southern
[00:26:16] [SPEAKER_01]: credibility to it. Was that a movie that we
[00:26:19] [SPEAKER_04]: covered with you Jax back in
[00:26:20] [SPEAKER_01]: those days? No that was What's Her Name
[00:26:22] [SPEAKER_01]: who did that with us
[00:26:25] [SPEAKER_01]: she Ruth
[00:26:27] [SPEAKER_01]: now works for Paul Green she was
[00:26:29] [SPEAKER_01]: on that episode. Ruth Hill? Yeah Ruth
[00:26:31] [SPEAKER_01]: Hill was on that episode with us. So you picked
[00:26:33] [SPEAKER_06]: Ruth over me? No we did
[00:26:35] [SPEAKER_04]: West Brown. You're always our second
[00:26:36] [SPEAKER_04]: you're always the second pick for us.
[00:26:38] [SPEAKER_01]: That's okay I don't mind being second. And Ruth
[00:26:40] [SPEAKER_01]: was not available for this today in fact
[00:26:43] [SPEAKER_01]: which is crazy. She was the first yeah it was
[00:26:44] [SPEAKER_04]: Tyler Hines, Ruth, me
[00:26:47] [SPEAKER_06]: at least I was third
[00:26:48] [SPEAKER_04]: third time. Third time I don't know if that's
[00:26:50] [SPEAKER_04]: what that means but yes
[00:26:52] [SPEAKER_04]: blind is a bat as long
[00:26:53] [SPEAKER_04]: as I think. Really long bat
[00:26:57] [SPEAKER_04]: let's say a quick break
[00:26:58] [SPEAKER_04]: we'll come back and we'll get to the way what
[00:27:00] [SPEAKER_04]: and the chicken
[00:27:03] [SPEAKER_04]: chicken fry
[00:27:04] [SPEAKER_03]: chicken fried
[00:27:06] [SPEAKER_03]: and I don't
[00:27:17] [SPEAKER_04]: Welcome back everybody we're talking chicken
[00:27:20] [SPEAKER_04]: sisters
[00:27:22] [SPEAKER_04]: episode one
[00:27:23] [SPEAKER_04]: friends, family is friends
[00:27:25] [SPEAKER_04]: family is family. Family's family
[00:27:27] [SPEAKER_01]: friends, friends, friends, family
[00:27:29] [SPEAKER_01]: friends of family, family. Friends are friends forever
[00:27:33] [SPEAKER_04]: let's get to the way what
[00:27:35] [SPEAKER_04]: so we're talking about what in this episode
[00:27:36] [SPEAKER_04]: let's go wait whoa whoa whoa wait what
[00:27:38] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm going to start with you Jax
[00:27:40] [SPEAKER_06]: Brand I think you
[00:27:41] [SPEAKER_06]: did a really excellent I have two
[00:27:43] [SPEAKER_06]: but you did a really excellent job of covering
[00:27:45] [SPEAKER_06]: the Sergio of it all
[00:27:48] [SPEAKER_06]: the chemistry of it
[00:27:49] [SPEAKER_06]: and I think that was interesting in the fact that it really felt
[00:27:52] [SPEAKER_06]: like the kind of chemistry
[00:27:54] [SPEAKER_06]: and connection you have when
[00:27:55] [SPEAKER_06]: it's like a single mom or a widowed
[00:27:57] [SPEAKER_06]: mom and it wasn't just
[00:27:59] [SPEAKER_06]: like Hallmark has their like infidelity things
[00:28:01] [SPEAKER_06]: that you're like oh is this going to happen what's going on
[00:28:03] [SPEAKER_06]: but this felt different so yes
[00:28:05] [SPEAKER_06]: I was shocked but excited to see where it goes
[00:28:08] [SPEAKER_06]: and then also this was
[00:28:09] [SPEAKER_06]: another thing that I was proud of Hallmark
[00:28:11] [SPEAKER_06]: plus you know we have Amanda
[00:28:13] [SPEAKER_06]: and she's a vegetarian
[00:28:15] [SPEAKER_06]: and even though the town is kind of like what
[00:28:17] [SPEAKER_06]: the town is now like the woman at the grocery store
[00:28:19] [SPEAKER_06]: we don't get the idea that
[00:28:21] [SPEAKER_06]: the show is making fun of her for it
[00:28:23] [SPEAKER_06]: just that she's out of place in the town
[00:28:26] [SPEAKER_06]: and the whole thing
[00:28:27] [SPEAKER_06]: the running thing in a lot of these Hallmark things
[00:28:29] [SPEAKER_06]: especially like four or five years ago
[00:28:31] [SPEAKER_06]: was that like vegans and vegetarians
[00:28:34] [SPEAKER_06]: were weirdos
[00:28:35] [SPEAKER_06]: and I'm not getting that vibe from
[00:28:38] [SPEAKER_06]: this and also I think there's probably an interesting story
[00:28:39] [SPEAKER_06]: there if she's a vegetarian
[00:28:41] [SPEAKER_06]: who's you know grown
[00:28:43] [SPEAKER_06]: up around chicken and has made her whole life
[00:28:45] [SPEAKER_06]: like a chicken restaurant I'm curious
[00:28:47] [SPEAKER_04]: I love that your weight what's are
[00:28:49] [SPEAKER_04]: typically just more like all the feels
[00:28:51] [SPEAKER_04]: like yeah I like
[00:28:53] [SPEAKER_04]: that they did this yeah I think that's really sweet
[00:28:55] [SPEAKER_04]: I really like that
[00:28:58] [SPEAKER_04]: we've talked about the first four
[00:28:59] [SPEAKER_04]: minutes but the first four minutes
[00:29:02] [SPEAKER_04]: absolutely is a weight what
[00:29:04] [SPEAKER_04]: and just as
[00:29:05] [SPEAKER_04]: what you expect out of Hallmark
[00:29:07] [SPEAKER_04]: you don't you don't expect
[00:29:10] [SPEAKER_04]: a hell
[00:29:11] [SPEAKER_04]: you don't expect a woman bouncing
[00:29:13] [SPEAKER_04]: in front of a pastor you don't expect blood
[00:29:16] [SPEAKER_04]: and teeth flying at the camera
[00:29:18] [SPEAKER_04]: you don't expect a woman
[00:29:20] [SPEAKER_04]: clearly wanting to have schmacks
[00:29:21] [SPEAKER_04]: with her husband you don't
[00:29:23] [SPEAKER_04]: expect that out of Hallmark
[00:29:25] [SPEAKER_04]: and so the last one schmacks
[00:29:29] [SPEAKER_04]: schmacks
[00:29:29] [SPEAKER_04]: got it okay the S word
[00:29:31] [SPEAKER_04]: got it got it got it SE double X
[00:29:33] [SPEAKER_04]: hockey sticks
[00:29:36] [SPEAKER_04]: you don't expect
[00:29:37] [SPEAKER_04]: it and so I just kept being like
[00:29:39] [SPEAKER_04]: what is happening and so
[00:29:41] [SPEAKER_04]: to their point I thought that it ended up
[00:29:44] [SPEAKER_04]: working really well but
[00:29:46] [SPEAKER_04]: my first way what is mainly just like
[00:29:48] [SPEAKER_04]: I can't believe this is happening type of thing
[00:29:50] [SPEAKER_04]: but my other way what
[00:29:52] [SPEAKER_04]: is boy that hush puppy was massive there's
[00:29:54] [SPEAKER_04]: a there's a hush puppy
[00:29:56] [SPEAKER_04]: in this episode
[00:29:57] [SPEAKER_04]: and a hush full grown dog
[00:29:59] [SPEAKER_04]: that's exactly right you need that
[00:30:02] [SPEAKER_04]: on a bigle this
[00:30:03] [SPEAKER_04]: this is a hush you better be over
[00:30:06] [SPEAKER_04]: 80 pounds or there's
[00:30:08] [SPEAKER_04]: a dog that's not going to do anything for the dog
[00:30:09] [SPEAKER_04]: that dog that the puppy is huge
[00:30:11] [SPEAKER_04]: this hush puppy's huge it's a huge
[00:30:14] [SPEAKER_01]: hush puppy choose the assigned people don't know how to make
[00:30:16] [SPEAKER_04]: hush puppies I'd like I'd like to
[00:30:18] [SPEAKER_04]: like a softball
[00:30:20] [SPEAKER_04]: I'd like to eat it it was a very
[00:30:21] [SPEAKER_04]: I'll eat a bigle hush puppy if you want me to
[00:30:24] [SPEAKER_04]: no no it's not a hush puppy
[00:30:25] [SPEAKER_04]: it's more like a loud puppy
[00:30:32] [SPEAKER_01]: Dano?
[00:30:33] [SPEAKER_01]: so Jax mentioned that one of our
[00:30:36] [SPEAKER_01]: leads is a vegetarian and
[00:30:37] [SPEAKER_01]: they don't make fun of it but
[00:30:39] [SPEAKER_01]: they do bring to light
[00:30:42] [SPEAKER_01]: the fact that she thinks killing chickens
[00:30:44] [SPEAKER_01]: is basically inhumane
[00:30:46] [SPEAKER_01]: and
[00:30:47] [SPEAKER_01]: she runs a fried chicken
[00:30:50] [SPEAKER_01]: restaurant so
[00:30:51] [SPEAKER_01]: like you would she's not a
[00:30:53] [SPEAKER_01]: vegetarian because she just
[00:30:56] [SPEAKER_01]: wants to eat more plants and
[00:30:58] [SPEAKER_01]: not any meat she doesn't think you should
[00:31:00] [SPEAKER_01]: kill chickens and that is literally
[00:31:02] [SPEAKER_01]: her job and
[00:31:03] [SPEAKER_01]: I don't think that
[00:31:06] [SPEAKER_01]: makes sense I don't think they were making
[00:31:08] [SPEAKER_01]: fun of her but I also
[00:31:10] [SPEAKER_01]: don't think if you
[00:31:11] [SPEAKER_01]: were a vegetarian because of the
[00:31:14] [SPEAKER_01]: treatment of animals
[00:31:15] [SPEAKER_01]: you couldn't possibly
[00:31:17] [SPEAKER_01]: be the assistant manager at a
[00:31:20] [SPEAKER_01]: restaurant that fries chickens
[00:31:22] [SPEAKER_06]: could you? I mean cognitive
[00:31:24] [SPEAKER_01]: dissonance yes that's right that's
[00:31:26] [SPEAKER_01]: right yeah exactly cognitive
[00:31:28] [SPEAKER_01]: dissonance you get it yes
[00:31:30] [SPEAKER_01]: yes I almost brought
[00:31:32] [SPEAKER_01]: double eggs hockey sticks over here well I almost brought it up
[00:31:34] [SPEAKER_01]: the cognitive dissonance of course you did yeah
[00:31:37] [SPEAKER_01]: Frank Junior
[00:31:38] [SPEAKER_01]: Frank Junior might be a
[00:31:40] [SPEAKER_01]: terrible human being and
[00:31:42] [SPEAKER_01]: we'll I'm sure we'll see more
[00:31:44] [SPEAKER_01]: if he really is I think he is
[00:31:46] [SPEAKER_01]: what I can tell you is he wears a three quarter
[00:31:48] [SPEAKER_01]: length t-shirt to go
[00:31:50] [SPEAKER_01]: to bed in and that's a
[00:31:52] [SPEAKER_01]: monster that is a monster
[00:31:54] [SPEAKER_01]: three quarter length
[00:31:56] [SPEAKER_01]: that's not a long sleeve t-shirt
[00:31:58] [SPEAKER_01]: for bed which would be real tough
[00:32:00] [SPEAKER_01]: three quarter length t-shirt for bed
[00:32:02] [SPEAKER_01]: is he naked? Is he? Do what?
[00:32:04] [SPEAKER_01]: I just sleep in a pair of boxers what about
[00:32:06] [SPEAKER_01]: you Brian? Yes same
[00:32:08] [SPEAKER_01]: or naked? Just the boxers
[00:32:10] [SPEAKER_01]: you let me decide? Great
[00:32:12] [SPEAKER_01]: this is an interesting conversation. We're not going to ask Jax we're not allowed.
[00:32:14] [SPEAKER_06]: No no I really queue pajamas from a
[00:32:16] [SPEAKER_06]: place called Katie Kime they're not
[00:32:18] [SPEAKER_06]: sponsoring me but they have adorable pj's
[00:32:20] [SPEAKER_06]: that's sparklequeen
[00:32:22] [SPEAKER_01]: at katiekime.com
[00:32:24] [SPEAKER_01]: is that understood? That's my understanding
[00:32:26] [SPEAKER_01]: I can't imagine wearing any shirts
[00:32:28] [SPEAKER_01]: would you add three quarter length
[00:32:30] [SPEAKER_04]: long sleeves? Well I've it depends
[00:32:32] [SPEAKER_04]: I've slept in a sweatshirt
[00:32:34] [SPEAKER_04]: before. A sweatshirt? Yeah
[00:32:36] [SPEAKER_04]: if I want to like sometimes
[00:32:37] [SPEAKER_04]: if it's real cold and I don't want
[00:32:40] [SPEAKER_04]: to turn on the heat kind of like today
[00:32:42] [SPEAKER_04]: I like getting cozy and take a little nap
[00:32:44] [SPEAKER_01]: like that. No and then last but not
[00:32:46] [SPEAKER_01]: least thank you though that was really good
[00:32:48] [SPEAKER_01]: last but not least you and I have been on a few
[00:32:50] [SPEAKER_01]: sets TV movie sets
[00:32:52] [SPEAKER_01]: Jax has been on more sets than we have
[00:32:55] [SPEAKER_01]: off Broadway
[00:32:57] [SPEAKER_01]: at the beach near Florida
[00:32:59] [SPEAKER_01]: here's the thing
[00:33:00] [SPEAKER_01]: you the big twist at the end of this
[00:33:02] [SPEAKER_01]: episode is Rukia Bernard
[00:33:04] [SPEAKER_01]: and Kitchenclass shows up and
[00:33:06] [SPEAKER_01]: Frank Jr. goes I called him and told
[00:33:08] [SPEAKER_01]: him to come a week early
[00:33:10] [SPEAKER_01]: no that's not how that
[00:33:12] [SPEAKER_01]: works at all you can't
[00:33:15] [SPEAKER_01]: they to rank listen
[00:33:16] [SPEAKER_01]: you and I had to do a media day for South
[00:33:18] [SPEAKER_01]: Carolina Public Radio they needed
[00:33:20] [SPEAKER_01]: a month in advance for a camera
[00:33:22] [SPEAKER_01]: crew to be there we got there
[00:33:25] [SPEAKER_01]: they were running an hour and a half late
[00:33:26] [SPEAKER_01]: you cannot possibly make
[00:33:29] [SPEAKER_01]: a call to the Food Network
[00:33:30] [SPEAKER_01]: and go could you come a week early
[00:33:33] [SPEAKER_01]: the day before and
[00:33:35] [SPEAKER_01]: they're like yeah everybody's ready we're just sitting here twirling our thumbs
[00:33:37] [SPEAKER_01]: waiting for you to give the go ahead
[00:33:38] [SPEAKER_01]: hoping that's just we were hoping we'd get
[00:33:41] [SPEAKER_01]: that call that's just not
[00:33:42] [SPEAKER_01]: how that works and I
[00:33:45] [SPEAKER_01]: know it creates great drama
[00:33:46] [SPEAKER_01]: and it creates the entire setup for the
[00:33:49] [SPEAKER_01]: television program but you Frank Jr.
[00:33:51] [SPEAKER_01]: can't just call up and be like you know when's
[00:33:53] [SPEAKER_01]: good for us tomorrow and then the
[00:33:55] [SPEAKER_01]: whole billion dollar company is like
[00:33:57] [SPEAKER_01]: great as long as it's good for the little guy
[00:33:59] [SPEAKER_01]: that's what we're going to do that just is
[00:34:01] [SPEAKER_01]: not that does not die man flying
[00:34:03] [SPEAKER_01]: not have not flying it's right it's not
[00:34:05] [SPEAKER_04]: flying it's time
[00:34:07] [SPEAKER_04]: for chicken
[00:34:09] [SPEAKER_04]: we talk about whether or not
[00:34:12] [SPEAKER_04]: something is making us scared
[00:34:13] [SPEAKER_04]: like a little chicken or
[00:34:15] [SPEAKER_04]: we think something's good to go like it's perfectly
[00:34:17] [SPEAKER_04]: fried
[00:34:20] [SPEAKER_01]: Jack's Jack's you ate a lot of
[00:34:21] [SPEAKER_01]: fried chicken when you eat a lot of fried chicken
[00:34:23] [SPEAKER_01]: visit us but normally you don't
[00:34:25] [SPEAKER_06]: right no so are you excited
[00:34:27] [SPEAKER_01]: my boys are you excited for the marathon
[00:34:29] [SPEAKER_01]: to get back to that fried chicken
[00:34:31] [SPEAKER_01]: back at it
[00:34:33] [SPEAKER_04]: it's my understanding a lot so
[00:34:35] [SPEAKER_04]: is cooking meals for us so maybe it
[00:34:37] [SPEAKER_04]: maybe it won't be I mean
[00:34:39] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm going to eat some fried chicken
[00:34:41] [SPEAKER_06]: yeah he's doing a lot of baked goods
[00:34:43] [SPEAKER_04]: yeah he's baking
[00:34:45] [SPEAKER_06]: yeah yeah he's asking about
[00:34:47] [SPEAKER_04]: nut allergy okay well I don't
[00:34:49] [SPEAKER_04]: know the people put nuts and all sorts of stuff
[00:34:51] [SPEAKER_04]: try it
[00:34:53] [SPEAKER_04]: oil for your fried chicken that's right
[00:34:55] [SPEAKER_04]: yeah yeah some nuts
[00:34:57] [SPEAKER_04]: on a like
[00:34:59] [SPEAKER_04]: a salad
[00:35:02] [SPEAKER_06]: yeah
[00:35:03] [SPEAKER_01]: can I tell you what I'm going to do with this segment
[00:35:05] [SPEAKER_01]: because it doesn't make any sense
[00:35:08] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to tell you
[00:35:09] [SPEAKER_01]: which I get the feeling
[00:35:11] [SPEAKER_01]: that every week they're going to try to
[00:35:13] [SPEAKER_01]: sway you one way or the other on which
[00:35:15] [SPEAKER_01]: of the restaurants yes
[00:35:17] [SPEAKER_01]: are so are you Franny or Mimi
[00:35:19] [SPEAKER_01]: is that's how I'm going to treat this
[00:35:21] [SPEAKER_01]: segment I'm going to tell you which one
[00:35:23] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm with and why that's what I'm going to do
[00:35:25] [SPEAKER_04]: okay you can do that too
[00:35:27] [SPEAKER_01]: but you can also do the thing where
[00:35:29] [SPEAKER_01]: you're like was it chicken and scared or was
[00:35:31] [SPEAKER_01]: it fried and awesome yeah
[00:35:33] [SPEAKER_04]: it's up to you you can do whatever you want to
[00:35:35] [SPEAKER_04]: with this segment totally
[00:35:37] [SPEAKER_06]: I would say
[00:35:39] [SPEAKER_06]: okay was it chicken and
[00:35:41] [SPEAKER_06]: scared or fried and awesome
[00:35:44] [SPEAKER_06]: I think
[00:35:46] [SPEAKER_06]: that
[00:35:46] [SPEAKER_06]: um
[00:35:48] [SPEAKER_06]: I'm
[00:35:50] [SPEAKER_06]: very excited
[00:35:52] [SPEAKER_06]: I'm very excited to see
[00:35:54] [SPEAKER_06]: where this little rivalry
[00:35:56] [SPEAKER_06]: or whatever happened
[00:35:58] [SPEAKER_06]: between May
[00:36:00] [SPEAKER_06]: and Rukia Bernard's character
[00:36:02] [SPEAKER_06]: um wherever that originated
[00:36:04] [SPEAKER_06]: so I am excited I think
[00:36:06] [SPEAKER_06]: that's fried I think that
[00:36:09] [SPEAKER_06]: it's fried baby
[00:36:10] [SPEAKER_06]: and I can't wait to find out
[00:36:12] [SPEAKER_06]: more about whatever that is for a second
[00:36:14] [SPEAKER_06]: I was like did they have a thing
[00:36:16] [SPEAKER_06]: that would be hot
[00:36:18] [SPEAKER_04]: did who?
[00:36:20] [SPEAKER_04]: did whom have a thing?
[00:36:23] [SPEAKER_06]: Rukia Bernard and
[00:36:25] [SPEAKER_06]: May I was like did they
[00:36:26] [SPEAKER_06]: is this like a we fell out
[00:36:28] [SPEAKER_04]: yeah well I'm
[00:36:30] [SPEAKER_04]: in a similar vein
[00:36:32] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm feeling a little chicken
[00:36:34] [SPEAKER_04]: because there's
[00:36:36] [SPEAKER_04]: they make some
[00:36:38] [SPEAKER_04]: that means you're scared right
[00:36:40] [SPEAKER_04]: they're making some teases
[00:36:43] [SPEAKER_04]: that there's some serious
[00:36:45] [SPEAKER_04]: they're making some teases
[00:36:46] [SPEAKER_04]: they're making some teases
[00:36:47] [SPEAKER_04]: they're making some teases
[00:36:50] [SPEAKER_04]: that there's some serious
[00:36:52] [SPEAKER_04]: skeletons
[00:36:56] [SPEAKER_04]: in this family's
[00:36:57] [SPEAKER_04]: closet more than what
[00:36:59] [SPEAKER_04]: we know at this point
[00:37:00] [SPEAKER_04]: what are those
[00:37:03] [SPEAKER_04]: skeletons
[00:37:05] [SPEAKER_04]: and is it going to be
[00:37:07] [SPEAKER_04]: scary I don't know
[00:37:08] [SPEAKER_04]: but I'm intrigued by it
[00:37:10] [SPEAKER_01]: what would it take to turn those teesings
[00:37:11] [SPEAKER_01]: and just put them in the hopper and fry them on up
[00:37:13] [SPEAKER_01]: what would it take?
[00:37:16] [SPEAKER_04]: revelation
[00:37:16] [SPEAKER_01]: revelation the book of the bible
[00:37:18] [SPEAKER_01]: ok great got it
[00:37:20] [SPEAKER_01]: so let me tell you why I'm meme-y's
[00:37:22] [SPEAKER_01]: and not fran-y's this week
[00:37:24] [SPEAKER_01]: if you want to do this dumb thing
[00:37:27] [SPEAKER_01]: so
[00:37:30] [SPEAKER_01]: Wendy Malick's character seems
[00:37:31] [SPEAKER_01]: the most unreasonable
[00:37:33] [SPEAKER_01]: of any of the characters
[00:37:35] [SPEAKER_01]: on the program right now
[00:37:36] [SPEAKER_01]: even more so than
[00:37:38] [SPEAKER_01]: leah Thompson's character or frank jr's character
[00:37:40] [SPEAKER_01]: I think frank jr is just dumb and an idiot
[00:37:42] [SPEAKER_01]: and selfish he's not unreasonable
[00:37:44] [SPEAKER_01]: I think he's just he's stupid
[00:37:48] [SPEAKER_01]: but
[00:37:48] [SPEAKER_01]: the reason meme-y's is the most
[00:37:50] [SPEAKER_01]: is the most unreasonable is
[00:37:52] [SPEAKER_01]: her restaurant hasn't sold out
[00:37:54] [SPEAKER_01]: she believes that the reason
[00:37:56] [SPEAKER_01]: her restaurant is special is because it hasn't
[00:37:58] [SPEAKER_01]: changed anything
[00:38:00] [SPEAKER_01]: and fran-y's is trying to
[00:38:02] [SPEAKER_01]: franchise
[00:38:04] [SPEAKER_01]: they sell frozen mozzarella sticks
[00:38:06] [SPEAKER_01]: they do these other things
[00:38:08] [SPEAKER_01]: and so right now
[00:38:10] [SPEAKER_01]: even though she's being unreasonable
[00:38:12] [SPEAKER_01]: I feel like what's a better story
[00:38:14] [SPEAKER_01]: than seeing someone who's always done something
[00:38:16] [SPEAKER_01]: a certain way continue to have
[00:38:18] [SPEAKER_01]: that magic while also seeing that there's
[00:38:20] [SPEAKER_01]: benefit in progressing and changing
[00:38:21] [SPEAKER_01]: so the character that's really
[00:38:24] [SPEAKER_01]: calling my heart if you will
[00:38:26] [SPEAKER_01]: to bring it full circle
[00:38:28] [SPEAKER_01]: is Wendy Malick's character
[00:38:30] [SPEAKER_01]: because I know that she's capable
[00:38:32] [SPEAKER_01]: of changing and moving forward
[00:38:34] [SPEAKER_01]: and so if I was
[00:38:36] [SPEAKER_01]: going to go to a restaurant
[00:38:38] [SPEAKER_01]: in recano where is this place
[00:38:40] [SPEAKER_01]: merrimack?
[00:38:42] [SPEAKER_01]: I would go to meme-y's because it
[00:38:44] [SPEAKER_01]: seems as though they care
[00:38:46] [SPEAKER_01]: more about how things
[00:38:48] [SPEAKER_01]: have always been done
[00:38:50] [SPEAKER_01]: so I'm going to go meme-y's this week
[00:38:51] [SPEAKER_01]: but listen things can change next week you never know
[00:38:54] [SPEAKER_01]: fry it on up
[00:38:55] [SPEAKER_04]: alright fair enough it's time for chicken of the week
[00:38:56] [SPEAKER_04]: it's where somebody submits
[00:38:59] [SPEAKER_04]: chicken and then we do a spotlight on them
[00:39:01] [SPEAKER_04]: Dan who do we have today?
[00:39:02] [SPEAKER_01]: this week's chicken is Gracie?
[00:39:05] [SPEAKER_01]: no more information?
[00:39:07] [SPEAKER_01]: Gracie?
[00:39:09] [SPEAKER_01]: I have her stats
[00:39:11] [SPEAKER_01]: a hen 2.4 pounds
[00:39:14] [SPEAKER_01]: lays 3 eggs a week
[00:39:16] [SPEAKER_01]: ok interesting
[00:39:18] [SPEAKER_01]: chicken of the week
[00:39:19] [SPEAKER_01]: hello!
[00:39:22] [SPEAKER_02]: Gracie?
[00:39:26] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm Gracie's
[00:39:27] [SPEAKER_02]: farmer
[00:39:28] [SPEAKER_02]: farmer
[00:39:30] [SPEAKER_02]: farm-ness?
[00:39:32] [SPEAKER_02]: maybe another name
[00:39:33] [SPEAKER_01]: what in the H-E-X-X double hockey
[00:39:36] [SPEAKER_01]: stance is going on?
[00:39:37] [SPEAKER_02]: there was like a different name
[00:39:38] [SPEAKER_02]: you think a female
[00:39:42] [SPEAKER_02]: farmer has a different name
[00:39:43] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm glad we have Jax's face
[00:39:45] [SPEAKER_02]: in the frame right now
[00:39:48] [SPEAKER_01]: a farmer
[00:39:50] [SPEAKER_01]: could you make it any more
[00:39:52] [SPEAKER_01]: patronizing?
[00:39:54] [SPEAKER_01]: what's your name?
[00:39:55] [SPEAKER_01]: farm-ness?
[00:39:56] [SPEAKER_01]: farm-ness Janie
[00:39:59] [SPEAKER_01]: why did Gracie
[00:40:01] [SPEAKER_01]: get the nominee for chicken of the week?
[00:40:02] [SPEAKER_02]: it's my first time on TV give me a break
[00:40:04] [SPEAKER_01]: it's just your voice
[00:40:07] [SPEAKER_01]: you'll see
[00:40:09] [SPEAKER_01]: why did Gracie get the nom?
[00:40:11] [SPEAKER_01]: why'd she get the nod this week?
[00:40:12] [SPEAKER_01]: she's questioned it
[00:40:14] [SPEAKER_02]: a lot of these gets kind of to fall time
[00:40:17] [SPEAKER_02]: and they start getting a little spooked out
[00:40:19] [SPEAKER_02]: there's lots of ghosts
[00:40:20] [SPEAKER_02]: this time we get witches and their brooms
[00:40:23] [SPEAKER_02]: Gracie takes all that in stride
[00:40:26] [SPEAKER_01]: adult hen
[00:40:27] [SPEAKER_01]: 2.3 pounds, 3 eggs a week
[00:40:29] [SPEAKER_01]: how is that?
[00:40:31] [SPEAKER_02]: this time he's crushing it
[00:40:33] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't think you understand
[00:40:35] [SPEAKER_02]: how spooked out and into the demonic
[00:40:37] [SPEAKER_02]: these chickens
[00:40:38] [SPEAKER_01]: are they really into the demonic?
[00:40:41] [SPEAKER_01]: do you think if you had a couple more farm-nesses
[00:40:43] [SPEAKER_01]: there it would help?
[00:40:45] [SPEAKER_02]: I think what is just ridiculous
[00:40:48] [SPEAKER_02]: first of all because I hear the
[00:40:49] [SPEAKER_02]: mock
[00:40:50] [SPEAKER_02]: but I do think
[00:40:52] [SPEAKER_02]: that it's important for everyone to know
[00:40:54] [SPEAKER_02]: Halloween is not a joke
[00:40:56] [SPEAKER_02]: you guys run around
[00:40:58] [SPEAKER_02]: you put on your costumes
[00:41:00] [SPEAKER_02]: it's early September
[00:41:02] [SPEAKER_02]: what are you talking about?
[00:41:04] [SPEAKER_02]: the Halloween shops pop up all over the place
[00:41:08] [SPEAKER_01]: I just want to know what this has to do with
[00:41:10] [SPEAKER_01]: Gracie being chicken of the week
[00:41:12] [SPEAKER_02]: have you been driving around your town
[00:41:14] [SPEAKER_02]: you see the Halloween towns popping up
[00:41:15] [SPEAKER_02]: and all this stuff
[00:41:17] [SPEAKER_02]: the stores
[00:41:19] [SPEAKER_01]: yes
[00:41:20] [SPEAKER_02]: it's not a joke
[00:41:23] [SPEAKER_02]: these are real animals
[00:41:24] [SPEAKER_01]: what did you say your name was one more time?
[00:41:27] [SPEAKER_06]: it sounds like baby jack is auditioning for the role of farm-ness
[00:41:33] [SPEAKER_01]: I don't know who that is
[00:41:35] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't have a TV
[00:41:36] [SPEAKER_02]: but I do think once again
[00:41:39] [SPEAKER_02]: guys it's not a joke
[00:41:40] [SPEAKER_02]: and if you could just stop it with the costumes
[00:41:43] [SPEAKER_02]: stop it
[00:41:44] [SPEAKER_02]: and if you run around and throw eggs at people's houses
[00:41:47] [SPEAKER_02]: that's a waste
[00:41:48] [SPEAKER_02]: even our best hens only 3 eggs a week
[00:41:52] [SPEAKER_02]: that's the best we got
[00:41:53] [SPEAKER_02]: don't waste it
[00:41:55] [SPEAKER_01]: I think somewhere in there we did officially name Gracie chicken of the week
[00:42:00] [SPEAKER_01]: yes
[00:42:00] [SPEAKER_01]: thank you very much
[00:42:01] [SPEAKER_01]: in the mail
[00:42:04] [SPEAKER_01]: a medal or a trophy?
[00:42:06] [SPEAKER_01]: chicken of the week everybody
[00:42:07] [SPEAKER_02]: medal or trophy?
[00:42:10] [SPEAKER_01]: it's neither of those things
[00:42:11] [SPEAKER_01]: it's a certificate
[00:42:13] [SPEAKER_01]: this is what I get
[00:42:14] [SPEAKER_01]: you've never even been on TV Janette
[00:42:18] [SPEAKER_01]: Janie
[00:42:19] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm out of here
[00:42:21] [SPEAKER_01]: I got to change my mind on this
[00:42:23] [SPEAKER_01]: I think I'm now
[00:42:24] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm frying
