BRAN'S THE CHICKEN SISTERS - S02E02 SYNOPSIS:
The episode kicks off by showing that Amanda, who lost her spark while married to Frank Jr., has found it again while hooking up with Sergio.
Cut back to the premiere: little Frankie runs out after seeing her mom kissing Sergio. Amanda chases after her, but Frankie doesn’t want to talk.
The next day, Mae shows up to comfort Amanda. Shawna stops by and agrees to head over to Mr. Chicken to spy on Frank Jr.
At Mr. Chicken, Frank Jr.’s boss comes by and is disappointed to see him showing emotions.
Meanwhile, Gus calls Amanda to check in on her, like a real mom would. Soon after, Frankie comes downstairs, yells at Amanda, and storms out.
Sabrina discovers that Mae’s wedding is barely planned, and she can’t believe it. Mae admits she never thought she’d actually get married, so Sabrina agrees to help her.
Nancy goes to talk to her pastor boyfriend. He tells her that keeping quiet about the kiss she saw wasn’t wrong. He also has something to ask her. Mae says she doesn’t think she can get married right now, but it turns out he just wanted to invite her on a trip. Realizing she already has all the help she needs, Nancy says yes.
Frank Jr. runs into Sergio and gives him a piece of his mind. Sergio admits he made a mistake and isn’t proud of it.
Later, Shawna shows up, and Gus tells her that people keep calling and asking for Caesar salad. Shawna explains she’s gone viral for a video where she said, “If I wanted to be famous, I’d cut my hair and start eating Caesar salad.” Gus doesn’t get why it’s funny, and it makes Shawna sad to think people are just making fun of her.
Frank Jr. then confronts Amanda. He admits he knows he’s not perfect but insists he didn’t deserve what she did. Amanda apologizes, but Frank Jr. warns her not to hold her breath for those divorce papers.
Shawna tells Gus she knows how to handle the salad situation, and Gus encourages her to go for it.
Frank Jr. later finds his mom, Nancy, and tells her off.
Back at home, Gus comforts Amanda while wearing a dress (Shawna explains it’s “for the ’gram”). Turns out, the whole idea is just for Amanda to eat a salad on camera.
Meanwhile, Sergio gets a text from “Do Not Answer” and decides to meet up.
Amanda tracks Frankie down and tells her she can’t skip school just because she’s embarrassed. Frankie claps back, pointing out that Amanda is dressed like she’s in witness protection.
Nancy goes to apologize to Frank Jr., saying she’s willing to forgive him for all the rotten things he’s done if he’ll forgive her, too. He says, “I’m sorry…I’m not ready,” then walks into his apartment to eat some Chicken Sisters chicken.
Finally, Amanda and Frankie share a heartfelt moment that really lands.
The episode ends with a hunk of a man walking in — Clayton. He’s Mae’s dad, the former star QB, and he calls Gus “Gussy.”
