[00:00:00] James. Hi, I'm Brian and I have the list of the best top 10, the best top 10 food chains
[00:00:13] in the country. And Brian doesn't have the best top 10 food chains, I do. I do. And this
[00:00:24] is the Diss List. Deck The Hallmark, it's his podcast. And friends host his podcast.
[00:00:33] We hope you like this jolly podcast. If that sounded rocky, you should see the outtakes.
[00:00:47] I wanted to do regular chains and you said no. Fans of the Diss List stand up. Holler
[00:00:54] if you hear me. Great to be back for a special Diss List. For those that have never enjoyed
[00:01:00] a Diss List before, Dan, what is this? So this is our fun little spin on lists. Basically,
[00:01:09] we cracked lists. Brian and I have a guest join us, typically somebody from the Bramble
[00:01:14] Jam Podcast Network, but we would accept applications. Just me. And they bring us a list, top 10
[00:01:22] list of their choosing of some topic. This topic is chain restaurants in the United States.
[00:01:29] Yeah. Have to be able to sit in and eat. That's correct. You need to sit in and have a seating
[00:01:33] area. Not just a drive-thru, not a window. So Brian's going to walk us through his list,
[00:01:38] which this slide that you created has all Dunkin stuff on it. What is happening here? It's all
[00:01:42] Dunkin Donuts stuff. And so help me if... I thought we'd just skip right to the end here.
[00:01:45] If Dunkin Donuts makes your list as a top 10 chain in America, oh man, that's going to be brutal.
[00:01:52] They're not even a top 10 donut chain. I can't... So basically...
[00:01:56] Wait, how many donut chains do you know about? National donut chains.
[00:01:59] I bet I could find 10. You can sit in.
[00:02:01] Yeah. You can sit in. Yeah. With some crispy cream.
[00:02:05] Tim Hortons, I guess technically counts. I don't know if it does.
[00:02:08] How far they stretch. Anyway. So basically he's going to go through, start at 10, go to one.
[00:02:13] We're going to give him a hard time or give our opinions on all of his choices. And then
[00:02:18] Brian gets to make a list from Brian's list. He gets to take two names off of the list that
[00:02:23] Brian had and put two on. Then he gets to flip the position of two.
[00:02:27] That's right. And turn in his list to Brian. And I get to do the same thing. And then Brian's going
[00:02:30] to choose one of our list as the definitive list of top 10 chain restaurants in America.
[00:02:37] Brian, why this? Why this topic?
[00:02:39] This is a good topic.
[00:02:40] It's a great topic.
[00:02:40] Really good topic. It's a tough topic too because so many of these places that you love are not
[00:02:46] national and you think maybe they are. They're not. So it's the list is actually, it's kind of
[00:02:50] harder to come by. Was there a qualifier?
[00:02:53] Well, like we talked about, you do have to be able to sit down in these restaurants.
[00:02:56] It can't just be a drive through. It can't just be like a walk up window.
[00:02:59] From a national, like Los Angeles doesn't have Sonic Drive-In, but Sonic is national. Like what
[00:03:04] when we say national, we mean there's locations kind of on both coasts and in the middle.
[00:03:08] Yeah. I think it has to cover. It can't just like there was, what was it?
[00:03:12] Culver's.
[00:03:12] Culver's for example, covers a lot of the country, but not
[00:03:16] West Coast or the East Coast.
[00:03:17] So that's not national.
[00:03:18] You can't count it.
[00:03:18] Yeah.
[00:03:18] So they can't.
[00:03:19] Yeah.
[00:03:19] Not a lot of pockets, but not quite.
[00:03:22] We're just got pockets. We're setting up for Brian's reveal of Applebee's at one. I can tell
[00:03:28] already. So, you know.
[00:03:30] Not far. The other thing too is you have, I did go by a Wikipedia list where it did break down
[00:03:36] national regional type. So I made a call.
[00:03:37] That's how you said I went and bought, like I went and bought, I go buy a, I was thinking
[00:03:41] I went and bought a Wikipedia.
[00:03:43] Brian, you don't have to buy it.
[00:03:44] I went and bought a Wikipedia.
[00:03:45] No, you said I did go buy a Wikipedia.
[00:03:48] Yeah.
[00:03:48] I did buy. Oh, you don't have to pay for those.
[00:03:50] No, it's free.
[00:03:50] Oh man.
[00:03:51] Free. If you can believe it.
[00:03:51] I mean, they ask for donations a lot.
[00:03:53] Yeah.
[00:03:54] Yeah. Should we get a Kraken?
[00:03:55] Yeah, absolutely.
[00:03:56] I think so.
[00:03:56] All right. Number 10.
[00:03:57] Number 10 is first up. Yes.
[00:03:59] All right. So number 10 on my favorite, the best 10 food chains in America.
[00:04:04] Oh, okay.
[00:04:05] Oh yeah. Here we go. Look at you.
[00:04:07] Food exit 14.
[00:04:08] Yeah.
[00:04:08] Here it is. Here it is.
[00:04:09] Here is the list.
[00:04:10] The number 10 will be right over here in the corner and drum roll.
[00:04:13] Taco Bell.
[00:04:15] Number 10 on my list.
[00:04:17] Okay. Tell me why.
[00:04:18] I'll tell you why. My criteria consistently through this was number one,
[00:04:23] is it a consistent experience? Is it, you don't think that's consistent?
[00:04:28] Taco Bell made the list?
[00:04:29] Taco Bell made the list. And also, is it an easy experience?
[00:04:33] Yeah.
[00:04:33] Am I going to just breeze in and out of this place?
[00:04:35] So Taco Bell, I've taken a lot of road trips the last few years here.
[00:04:38] Have you?
[00:04:39] You have.
[00:04:39] Moved to Greenville.
[00:04:40] I found that Taco Bell has been one of the most reliable stops with a car full of kids or not.
[00:04:47] And you're throwing tacos back to your kids in the car?
[00:04:50] Oh yeah. We'll go there. You get a bean burrito, a bean and cheese burrito,
[00:04:54] or bean and rice burrito. They're like a dollar. You get a bag of those things.
[00:04:58] I get like a dozen soft shell tacos and just go. And it's great.
[00:05:03] So I have a soft spot in my heart for Taco Bell.
[00:05:06] Soft shell spot.
[00:05:07] Soft shell spot. Always a soft shell.
[00:05:08] And they're open super late.
[00:05:10] Always a soft shell.
[00:05:11] Always a soft shell. Always.
[00:05:12] What if it's a Doritos Locos?
[00:05:14] Never.
[00:05:15] Never.
[00:05:15] What?
[00:05:16] No, I've never done it. No.
[00:05:17] Taco Bell's on your list without having tried the Doritos Locos?
[00:05:21] You tell me it's better than a soft shell taco?
[00:05:22] The Doritos Locos Tacos.
[00:05:24] My go-to at the Taco Bell is the cheesy gordita crunch, which you know.
[00:05:27] I think I've tried that.
[00:05:29] It's got soft and crunchy. Melty. It's got that Baja sauce on it.
[00:05:33] Okay. Yeah.
[00:05:34] Man.
[00:05:34] So a good choice. You know, I felt weird about putting Taco Bell on this list, but-
[00:05:38] I don't think you should feel weird about it.
[00:05:39] I don't think you should feel weird about it.
[00:05:40] I got a good vibe for Taco Bell.
[00:05:42] It's funny, Bran. You like this place.
[00:05:45] I like that. Honestly, I have to be honest.
[00:05:48] I have not given this maybe as much time as it deserves.
[00:05:53] The list or the bell?
[00:05:53] The list. The list.
[00:05:55] And so I'm kind of waiting to see how this all plays out.
[00:05:59] Gotcha.
[00:06:00] I like it at a 10, but I also need to see what it's relative to in his list and then give it some more thought.
[00:06:07] But I do like a Taco Bell. I do like a Taco Bell.
[00:06:11] I do like a Taco Bell.
[00:06:12] I haven't had Taco Bell in a long time, but I do have a lot of fond memories of road trips.
[00:06:19] You mainly have it with me at this point.
[00:06:20] Yes. If I'm eating Taco Bell, it is almost always with you. That is correct.
[00:06:25] Sounds like it's been a good experience for you.
[00:06:27] And I would choose it over McDonald's. I don't know if that's coming, but from a drive-thru
[00:06:33] perspective, I don't mind it. I feel like my list is going to be a lot more like...
[00:06:39] Bougie.
[00:06:40] That's exactly right. It's going to be a lot more like...
[00:06:43] Oh yeah. Sit down.
[00:06:44] Upscale than your list is going to be.
[00:06:47] Because this list could include steak houses.
[00:06:51] 100%. Longhorn.
[00:06:53] Longhorn, Outback, Texas Roadhouse, none of which I frequent regularly, but Taco Bell.
[00:06:59] Sure.
[00:07:00] So that's my thing.
[00:07:01] Well, actually, I don't know.
[00:07:02] I've had some bad experiences.
[00:07:04] I've had... Oh, we had a terrible experience, all three of us at Outback.
[00:07:07] It's true.
[00:07:07] That was brutal.
[00:07:08] True. Yeah.
[00:07:09] The dessert was good. Everything else was trashed.
[00:07:11] The dessert almost saved it for you.
[00:07:12] But I do think it's one of those things where I have to see his list as a whole because...
[00:07:16] You just got to say, how's it relative? Yeah.
[00:07:18] I saw it and I was shocked, but if he's going to go with a lot of places that are like in
[00:07:23] and out places, no pun intended...
[00:07:25] In and out, not on the list.
[00:07:26] Not... Well, it can't be. It's regional.
[00:07:28] So stop at everybody.
[00:07:29] Yeah.
[00:07:29] All the same.
[00:07:30] In and out's overrated too.
[00:07:31] So let's just... But I just... Fascinating.
[00:07:34] It's a fascinating play at 10 because I think if this is a harbinger of what's to come,
[00:07:40] then this list may hold a similar place in my heart to Ryan Popola's sports movies list.
[00:07:44] Okay.
[00:07:45] But of the drive-thrus for lunch, Taco Bell is not... Of the nationals?
[00:07:51] Yeah, I'll take it.
[00:07:51] All right. Okay.
[00:07:52] Let's see where we go from here.
[00:07:54] I don't hate the play.
[00:07:56] I do feel like you have a limited knowledge of Taco Bell for someone who put it on their list.
[00:08:01] Soft shell only.
[00:08:02] Soft shell only.
[00:08:03] You can bring that... You can grab that mic, Dan.
[00:08:04] You can hold it in your hand.
[00:08:06] You can speak into it if you want to go on that.
[00:08:07] Soft shell only.
[00:08:08] Yeah.
[00:08:08] I'm just trying to let nine guys stay.
[00:08:10] Yeah, I know. I'm just saying, if you want to just get comfortable, you can do whatever
[00:08:13] you want to.
[00:08:13] Do you think this is comfortable here?
[00:08:14] I feel like it's a weird angle to look at you.
[00:08:17] Cool.
[00:08:17] I'm an angel.
[00:08:18] Hey, what's up, man?
[00:08:19] You want to go to Taco Bell later?
[00:08:20] Yes.
[00:08:20] Yeah, I should definitely go to Taco Bell.
[00:08:21] Okay. Number nine.
[00:08:22] Number nine. Here we go.
[00:08:23] The Looney Tunes, number nine.
[00:08:27] Dunkin' Donuts.
[00:08:28] Wow, wow, wow.
[00:08:29] Very specific reason.
[00:08:30] Not high.
[00:08:31] Not as high as I would have expected.
[00:08:34] For a Boston man...
[00:08:35] For a Boston man, nine is basically not on the list.
[00:08:38] Nine... And basically the first slide was all Dunkin's.
[00:08:41] And I got to be honest, unless your very specific reason for this is coffee, I just...
[00:08:48] No, it's not.
[00:08:50] Okay.
[00:08:50] My reason is I need a donut shop on the list.
[00:08:54] And as far as national brand, national donut shops, there's not a lot of options.
[00:08:59] There aren't.
[00:09:00] And I can't get...
[00:09:01] I'm not a Krispy Kreme guy.
[00:09:03] So...
[00:09:04] Okay, because Krispy Kreme is a national chain now.
[00:09:06] And I'm picking Dunkin' over Krispy Kreme.
[00:09:08] I go in there and get a box of 50 munchkins if I want, 25.
[00:09:12] You can do that at Krispy Kreme?
[00:09:15] I like...
[00:09:16] I just...
[00:09:16] I like the Dunkin' Donuts.
[00:09:17] If I'm going to...
[00:09:17] If I need...
[00:09:18] I need to have a donut shop represented.
[00:09:20] And if I got to pick one, I'm going to Dunkin'.
[00:09:22] You put them side by side.
[00:09:23] I'm going to pick Dunkin' over Krispy Kreme.
[00:09:26] And I don't think Tim Hortons does count in this spiel here.
[00:09:32] This is tough.
[00:09:32] I don't know of any national donut chain aside from Dunkin' and Krispy off the top of my head.
[00:09:37] Yeah.
[00:09:38] Brand, can you think of any off the top of your head?
[00:09:40] Most of them are regional.
[00:09:41] It's hard to combine national donut shop.
[00:09:43] So it's...
[00:09:44] I think the promise is...
[00:09:46] The promise.
[00:09:46] The problem is you started with, I have to have a donut shop on the list.
[00:09:52] Yeah.
[00:09:52] You could choose any national chain food you wanted at any level.
[00:09:58] Yeah.
[00:09:58] From the highest tier all the way down to the nothing.
[00:10:04] A Dunkin'.
[00:10:04] And you...
[00:10:05] Yeah, to a Dunkin'.
[00:10:06] Exactly.
[00:10:06] Pick a Dunkin', yeah.
[00:10:07] And you are like, well, I have to have a donut shop on the list.
[00:10:10] You're not planning your perfect day.
[00:10:13] I'm saying that...
[00:10:13] You're saying you're best 10.
[00:10:14] I've got to cover the bases.
[00:10:15] Best 10, Brian.
[00:10:16] Yeah, absolutely.
[00:10:17] I can't not have a donut shop.
[00:10:18] Here's a donut that tastes like an ashtray.
[00:10:21] I just can't...
[00:10:22] Let's put a little bit of respect on the Munchkin.
[00:10:24] Maybe a bagel?
[00:10:24] Let's put a little bit of respect on the Munchkin.
[00:10:25] Are you a Dunkin' Donuts fan?
[00:10:26] I love a Munchkin.
[00:10:27] Yeah.
[00:10:28] Aside from Munchkins.
[00:10:29] I like their coffee.
[00:10:31] But would you put this on your list?
[00:10:33] No, I wouldn't put it on my list.
[00:10:33] Okay.
[00:10:34] No.
[00:10:34] All right.
[00:10:35] No, no.
[00:10:36] In my opinion, Krispy Kreme is a better donut, but Munchkins are kind of their own thing.
[00:10:40] Yeah.
[00:10:40] Krispy Kreme has the same...
[00:10:42] They're not as good.
[00:10:43] What?
[00:10:43] The donut holes at Krispy Kreme are not as good as the Munchkins at Dunkin'.
[00:10:47] Well, I just fundamentally disagree.
[00:10:50] We have to try that out.
[00:10:50] Yeah, we're going to have to bring that to the table.
[00:10:52] I'm probably with you on this one.
[00:10:53] Of course you are.
[00:10:55] I like the play though, Brian, at nine from a strategic point of view.
[00:11:00] For me, I think I could do a lot with that.
[00:11:03] And kind of also play into what I know about you and your love of Dunkin'.
[00:11:07] I think there's a lot that I can do with it.
[00:11:09] I went through a big Dunkin' coffee phase for a long time.
[00:11:14] I've never had one coffee.
[00:11:16] It was too sweet.
[00:11:16] Because for a long time, they were doing like dollar-dollar coffees, free coffees in their app.
[00:11:23] And I was getting that like crazy.
[00:11:25] I was going nuts.
[00:11:26] Yeah, they lost money on you there.
[00:11:27] And I do like the sweets.
[00:11:29] I do like a sweet iced coffee.
[00:11:31] I can do that.
[00:11:33] Once you get to the lattes, trash.
[00:11:36] Not good.
[00:11:37] But just an iced coffee, I dig it.
[00:11:41] I don't know if you heard, America, it actually runs on it.
[00:11:44] And I've heard that.
[00:11:45] So between the munchkins and the iced coffee, I'm not upset that it's on the list.
[00:11:50] I get the feeling that in all 10 of these places that I'm going to see on the board,
[00:11:54] I can go there and eat for under $12.
[00:11:57] And I can't believe that that is what list we ended up getting.
[00:12:00] You're going to be pleasantly surprised, I think.
[00:12:03] I feel pretty confident and strong.
[00:12:04] We're off to a tough start here.
[00:12:06] Give me 10 over nine.
[00:12:07] We're off to a tough start.
[00:12:08] All right, so let's move on to eight.
[00:12:09] Here we go.
[00:12:10] Because I don't remember what it is.
[00:12:12] So let's find out.
[00:12:13] The Cheesecake Factory.
[00:12:15] Number eight.
[00:12:16] Interesting.
[00:12:17] Yeah.
[00:12:17] And again, this is a specific choice for dessert only.
[00:12:24] I mean, the menu, colossal.
[00:12:25] It's massive.
[00:12:26] Anything you want.
[00:12:27] It's very expensive.
[00:12:28] So expensive.
[00:12:28] You'll have a ton of leftovers though if you do it right.
[00:12:31] Yes.
[00:12:31] But the cheesecake is great.
[00:12:33] $10 a slice.
[00:12:34] So reliable.
[00:12:35] So good.
[00:12:36] So many options.
[00:12:36] Everybody's happy.
[00:12:38] I'd rarely go to the Cheesecake Factory, but I think it belongs on this list because the
[00:12:44] dessert option is just, I don't want to ignore it.
[00:12:47] It's important.
[00:12:48] And so I'm putting it right here.
[00:12:49] So you put it there to get you a dessert.
[00:12:51] I mean, two of your options so far are desserts.
[00:12:54] Yes.
[00:12:56] I got my cheese.
[00:12:57] What do you think of this Cheesecake Factory business?
[00:12:59] Well, I have a tough time there as one who does not like cheesecake.
[00:13:03] Yeah, sure.
[00:13:04] So if you're taking me there, if I'm thinking of this list as I'm with Brian and his car,
[00:13:10] we're on a road trip.
[00:13:11] And I say, Brian, lead the way.
[00:13:13] Take me on a tour to Flavortown.
[00:13:16] Keep throwing road trips in the mix for this.
[00:13:18] All three of us have said road trip.
[00:13:20] We're looking at the list.
[00:13:22] I know, but I'm just traveling.
[00:13:23] All I'm saying is I'm on a trip here.
[00:13:29] Not a physical.
[00:13:30] It is a physical trip.
[00:13:32] I'm on a list.
[00:13:33] I'm on a hypothetical trip with you, and you're taking me through your list.
[00:13:37] Okay.
[00:13:38] And you say, I want some dessert.
[00:13:39] I'm going to Cheesecake Factory.
[00:13:40] And I'm saying, I don't know.
[00:13:42] I don't know.
[00:13:43] I could go for some of those.
[00:13:44] Buffalo chicken wontons.
[00:13:46] I could do that.
[00:13:47] I could do that.
[00:13:50] But I was newer to Cheesecake Factory.
[00:13:51] I'd never been until we went together in Edison, New Jersey.
[00:13:56] Shout out.
[00:13:57] Obviously.
[00:13:58] Edison is still very much with us.
[00:14:00] They pay you for that?
[00:14:01] Edison is most definitely not still with us.
[00:14:03] Edison has been a corpse for years, but we still go.
[00:14:07] You still can go.
[00:14:08] Of course.
[00:14:09] Not recommended.
[00:14:11] But it's if the color gray was a city.
[00:14:15] Yeah, for sure.
[00:14:16] But New Brunswick next door is good by comparison.
[00:14:19] Lovely.
[00:14:22] I don't mind this.
[00:14:24] I never think about Cheesecake Factory, to be honest with you.
[00:14:27] And I do think the menu is too long.
[00:14:29] I think you got to pick a lane.
[00:14:32] I think the first two, Taco Bell and Dunkin Donuts, they picked the lane.
[00:14:38] You're sticking with it.
[00:14:38] Dunkin's trying to get a little bit flashy in the past couple of years.
[00:14:42] And I don't need that.
[00:14:43] But Cheesecake Factory, that menu, just to read it.
[00:14:46] I mean, you could read Moby Dick before you get done with the menu at Cheesecake Factory.
[00:14:51] And so it's too long.
[00:14:53] It's too long.
[00:14:54] There's too much going on.
[00:14:55] Um, this is an early entry for me as a replace, but we'll see.
[00:15:00] Sure.
[00:15:00] So I think this is my favorite of those three.
[00:15:04] I don't ever go there.
[00:15:05] You and I, when it opened at Haywood Mall, we went, remember, we tried to get there right
[00:15:08] when the doors opened and there was a line of people.
[00:15:11] It was not even, it wasn't even when it first opened.
[00:15:13] It was like six months after they opened.
[00:15:14] It was six months.
[00:15:15] It's been around.
[00:15:16] And people are lined up at 11 a.m. to eat there.
[00:15:19] We're like, we're not doing this.
[00:15:20] We're not doing this.
[00:15:21] Um.
[00:15:22] And we thought we were getting cute getting there at 1045.
[00:15:24] This is good.
[00:15:24] We'll be good.
[00:15:25] Yeah, we'll roll up.
[00:15:26] Yeah.
[00:15:27] No, no, not there.
[00:15:29] Uh, but obviously if you're asking me which of these three places I would frequent
[00:15:35] Cheesecake Factory is ahead of the other two.
[00:15:37] Yeah, I, it just is the Buffalo chicken wontons and the cheesecake alone, the app and the dessert.
[00:15:42] I don't even need a meal in between there.
[00:15:44] That app, those, those desserts can't beat it.
[00:15:47] Can't beat it.
[00:15:48] So I'm thrilled it's on the list.
[00:15:50] Not because I don't know if it would be on my list or not.
[00:15:52] But I think I get it.
[00:15:54] I get it.
[00:15:55] It's a really good pull.
[00:15:56] Good pull there, Bri.
[00:15:57] Let's do this.
[00:15:58] Let's take a quick break.
[00:15:58] We'll come back and we'll get back to number seven on Brian's top 10 fat chain foods, chain
[00:16:06] restaurants, chain foods nationwide.
[00:16:09] Uh, the chains food, food, chain food.
[00:16:20] We're back.
[00:16:20] Welcome back to the dis list here on deck.
[00:16:24] The Hallmark.
[00:16:24] Uh, you it's, it's layered.
[00:16:28] Brian, you're doing top 10 chains, food chains nationally, national food chains.
[00:16:34] Yes, right.
[00:16:35] And we got 10 Taco Bell, nine Dunkin Donuts, eight Cheesecake Factory.
[00:16:41] So let's to number seven, number seven on the list.
[00:16:45] DQ, Dairy Queen, number seven on the list of top 10 best
[00:16:52] food.
[00:16:55] You couldn't even say food without laughing to Brian, two of the four places on your list.
[00:16:59] What they serve is in food.
[00:17:01] You guys are going to pick up on a trend here that I'm just realizing this is specifically
[00:17:06] all of them suck.
[00:17:07] Is that the trend?
[00:17:08] Brian's just going to keep saying, I had to put something on for dessert.
[00:17:10] I had to put something for dessert on the list.
[00:17:12] The, the, uh, it's for the blizzard.
[00:17:15] You just had the cheesecake on there for the cheesecake.
[00:17:18] They're different things.
[00:17:20] And also at Dairy Queen, you can get a burger, a double burger.
[00:17:25] You can buy C double.
[00:17:26] What was the last time anyone did?
[00:17:28] Why are you reading me?
[00:17:29] The I did this with the last couple of years.
[00:17:31] You did this at the old office one day.
[00:17:32] It was going to be months.
[00:17:33] I know.
[00:17:34] The last couple of years, he got chicken or a burger from DQ within the past couple of years.
[00:17:40] How is the burger at Dairy Queen?
[00:17:42] It's fine.
[00:17:43] Number seven, number seven on the list is passable food.
[00:17:46] Meal.
[00:17:47] I grabbed the burger and most importantly, the blizzard super important.
[00:17:51] Brian's got to go to such a disappointment.
[00:17:54] What?
[00:17:55] Oreo blizzard.
[00:17:56] DQ.
[00:17:56] A lot of options.
[00:17:57] Really convenient.
[00:17:59] Uh, this is crazy.
[00:18:00] Yeah.
[00:18:01] You're yeah.
[00:18:01] You're having a good time.
[00:18:02] Should have been out of business years ago.
[00:18:04] They should have, but they're not.
[00:18:05] And the blizzard is the only respectable menu item on that whole menu.
[00:18:09] Obviously I'm just saying there are other, if you have to give me Dunkin' Donuts over
[00:18:14] Dairy Queen, a blizzard and you got your kids, you can feed them blast and the food at Sonic
[00:18:20] is better.
[00:18:20] No way.
[00:18:21] Yes.
[00:18:21] Dairy Queen.
[00:18:22] No trash.
[00:18:24] Really pushing tonics.
[00:18:26] No, I don't want, I don't Sonic wouldn't be on my list.
[00:18:28] You like, you got the queen over Sonic.
[00:18:31] Uh, probably.
[00:18:32] Really?
[00:18:33] I really like a blizzard.
[00:18:34] And I just want to say like, I don't know what happened in the room the day that they
[00:18:42] talked about.
[00:18:42] Let's make sure everybody tips it upside down before they hand it to you.
[00:18:45] But what a day that was.
[00:18:48] And it's not a day that is going to be celebrated.
[00:18:51] It's not going to be a national holiday.
[00:18:52] It's not even their ID.
[00:18:54] Like it's a custard concrete, a frozen custard concrete in the Midwest.
[00:18:59] Ted Drew St. Louis has been around for a hundred and some years.
[00:19:01] They do that to everyone.
[00:19:03] They hand out.
[00:19:03] You think that they stole it from Ted Drew?
[00:19:05] Yes, most definitely.
[00:19:06] You think the queen.
[00:19:07] That's what all the great ones do.
[00:19:09] Yes.
[00:19:09] They just steal.
[00:19:10] I think they did.
[00:19:11] Wow.
[00:19:12] That's tough.
[00:19:13] Ted Drew shout out.
[00:19:15] Whatever room.
[00:19:16] I don't really care where it happened.
[00:19:17] Whatever room it happened in that they said, we're doing this was an amazing room.
[00:19:21] A Sonic blast is just as good as a kid.
[00:19:24] The kid in you just comes out when you, when you see that happen.
[00:19:28] I could get you a, or especially with old, old Oreo over here.
[00:19:32] Just simple Oreo.
[00:19:32] I could give you an Oreo blizzard and an Oreo Sonic blast.
[00:19:35] And you would be like, oh yeah, basically the same thing.
[00:19:37] I don't think so.
[00:19:38] You don't think so?
[00:19:39] I haven't really had a blast before.
[00:19:41] Neither have I, but I just know.
[00:19:41] You and I literally were watching March Madness.
[00:19:43] They had a cookie dough blast.
[00:19:45] Oh yeah.
[00:19:45] And we left the office, went down and got it and came back.
[00:19:49] It's just like a blizzard.
[00:19:50] Same thing.
[00:19:51] Yeah.
[00:19:51] Going, but Derek, the Brewster's, the Brewster's cookie dough.
[00:19:55] Oh my gosh.
[00:19:56] That was a national change.
[00:19:58] Is Brewster's not?
[00:19:59] I don't think it is.
[00:20:00] I don't know actually.
[00:20:01] What do you think about this pick?
[00:20:03] It's a wild card pick here.
[00:20:05] Yeah.
[00:20:06] I'm this, this at 10.
[00:20:07] Okay.
[00:20:08] I maybe give you a little leeway at seven.
[00:20:11] It's interesting.
[00:20:12] I like the blizzard.
[00:20:13] You're being, I'm honestly really surprised that this is again.
[00:20:17] I'm just surprised that Duncan's at nine.
[00:20:19] Why is Duncan at not, not seven?
[00:20:21] Put this crap on this list.
[00:20:22] You may as well.
[00:20:23] I never hear you talk really talking about DQ.
[00:20:26] You never shut up about Duncan.
[00:20:28] I think the Duncan thing is a bit like a few months where we were eating blizzards nonstop.
[00:20:32] That's true.
[00:20:32] And he, the Duncan thing is kind of a bit with me.
[00:20:35] To be fair.
[00:20:35] Like I don't, I don't think when Brian was living in Danvers, he wasn't going to Duncan
[00:20:40] every day, right?
[00:20:41] You weren't.
[00:20:41] Yeah.
[00:20:42] Every day you were going to, were you going to Duncan every week?
[00:20:44] No, no.
[00:20:45] Okay.
[00:20:46] More often than I do now.
[00:20:47] He lived in the original Salem witch trials city.
[00:20:51] He wasn't, he lived in the original Salem witchcraft old city.
[00:20:57] He, uh, he didn't go to Duncan every week.
[00:20:58] He wasn't.
[00:20:59] Yeah.
[00:21:00] I should have looking back.
[00:21:01] Danvers regret.
[00:21:03] All right.
[00:21:03] So number six.
[00:21:04] So we got a taco bell, 10 Duncan nine cheesecake factory, eight number seven DQ number six
[00:21:10] on the list.
[00:21:12] Starbucks.
[00:21:14] This one now specific choice.
[00:21:16] I gotta have a good coffee on the list.
[00:21:20] Same with donuts.
[00:21:21] All coffee is like regional.
[00:21:23] The only thing that is consistent across the nation, across this great land across this
[00:21:27] great land, Starbucks.
[00:21:29] And if, if I'm taking a trip around the Christmas time and I'm driving through and I'm not always
[00:21:34] road trip, isn't it?
[00:21:36] Peppermint latte or fall time.
[00:21:38] And when I have a pumpkin latte, you're also new to those beverages too.
[00:21:42] Yeah.
[00:21:42] We've entered, I've introduced you to a lot of those.
[00:21:44] Yeah, absolutely.
[00:21:45] But also if we're doing this based on a road trip, which once again, wasn't what we talked
[00:21:50] about at all, if you're anywhere in the country, if we're doing this based on a road trip of
[00:21:56] these five places, the place I'm most likely to stop at during a road trip is 100% Starbucks.
[00:22:03] Like Starbucks definitely deserves to be on this list more than those other four.
[00:22:07] What kills me is, is you have Duncan and Starbucks on your list.
[00:22:10] Right?
[00:22:10] Well, I'm not getting so, but what you're saying is, is that that's how important munchkins
[00:22:17] are.
[00:22:17] I don't want to live without donuts.
[00:22:19] You can't, you don't have to.
[00:22:20] This wasn't a desert Island assignment, Brian, you can still go and get lunch.
[00:22:24] Feel like I got to cover all the bases here.
[00:22:26] You don't, you do.
[00:22:27] You can have 10 steaks on there.
[00:22:30] I don't want steak every day.
[00:22:31] If you highlight the whole page, Dan,
[00:22:35] this is actually highlighting the whole page.
[00:22:37] That's the purpose of this.
[00:22:39] I see for me, it's, it's a variety and covering the bases is the best list to make sure I got
[00:22:45] everything that I would enjoy.
[00:22:46] I would have Starbucks on my top 10.
[00:22:49] I don't have a problem with that.
[00:22:49] I have a problem with everything.
[00:22:51] I don't have a problem with Starbucks and I honestly, it would be in the bottom half
[00:22:56] of my list.
[00:22:57] Maybe a little bit lower than this, but I don't have a problem with this brand.
[00:23:00] Yeah.
[00:23:00] I mean, I, five, five years ago I would have been all in on this and I would, I've gone
[00:23:06] away from Starbucks to a little bit more in my older age, but change, but as far as the
[00:23:11] chains go, yeah, there's every time I go to Duncan for coffee, I think to myself,
[00:23:20] what are they not doing with their employees that Starbucks is doing with their employees?
[00:23:26] Cause talk about lack of consistency with the Duncan Donuts drinks.
[00:23:29] It's insane.
[00:23:30] Starbucks, Starbucks is a, is primo.
[00:23:33] The employees go above and beyond.
[00:23:36] And a great, a great app experience within the Starbucks, which I felt like they were
[00:23:42] kind of ahead of the game in regards to the app.
[00:23:45] And so I like to pick, it's a good pick.
[00:23:48] Yeah.
[00:23:48] I think, I mean, obviously I'd rather have a local coffee.
[00:23:50] Of course.
[00:23:51] I'm not, I don't go to Starbucks often, but national chain.
[00:23:54] I'm like, this is somewhere I could stop and know it's going to be the same.
[00:23:58] Literally in London, nobody had ice for a cold brew.
[00:24:01] I went to Starbucks and got a cold brew with ice like in London.
[00:24:06] So that should tell you everything you need to know.
[00:24:08] Saving lives.
[00:24:08] Yeah.
[00:24:09] How about that?
[00:24:10] All right.
[00:24:10] So that's number six.
[00:24:11] Top five.
[00:24:11] Yeah.
[00:24:11] So now we're in the top five.
[00:24:12] All right, here we go.
[00:24:13] This is huge.
[00:24:14] This is big.
[00:24:15] This is where it gets big.
[00:24:16] Number five on the list.
[00:24:18] Chick-fil-a.
[00:24:19] All right.
[00:24:20] Okay.
[00:24:20] Now, yes, five seems low, but I feel like my four are bangers and it just,
[00:24:28] I had to push them down.
[00:24:29] Chick-fil-a.
[00:24:30] I battled between Chick-fil-a, Chipotle because to me, very high quality places.
[00:24:36] Chick-fil-a though.
[00:24:36] So is Chipotle not on your list?
[00:24:38] We're going to find out.
[00:24:38] Okay.
[00:24:40] I don't want to live without the peppermint shake.
[00:24:43] And you tell me.
[00:24:44] That is a seasonal beverage.
[00:24:46] Yeah.
[00:24:47] And I need that really good milkshake though.
[00:24:48] I love that chicken sandwich.
[00:24:50] That's the milkshake they're talking about in that song.
[00:24:53] Really?
[00:24:53] That brings all the boys here.
[00:24:54] Wow.
[00:24:54] Interesting.
[00:24:55] They have to be.
[00:24:55] Interesting.
[00:24:56] I'm just realizing now that DQ and Chick-fil-a, they got a little bit of something going on.
[00:25:02] You put Chick-fil-a on this list just for a milkshake you can get 12 weeks a year?
[00:25:06] No, I like that chicken sandwich a lot.
[00:25:07] I like the tenners a lot.
[00:25:09] The kids love it there.
[00:25:10] Their sauces are good.
[00:25:12] One of the few places still around that has playgrounds.
[00:25:15] Has play places.
[00:25:16] Experiences.
[00:25:17] Absolutely, big ones too.
[00:25:18] Experiences, I mean restaurants.
[00:25:19] Yeah.
[00:25:20] I call my restaurants experiences.
[00:25:21] Yes, of course you do.
[00:25:22] Yeah, yeah.
[00:25:22] And as you should.
[00:25:23] What do you think about this, Bray?
[00:25:25] It is very, very popular in these parts.
[00:25:28] Yeah.
[00:25:29] There are, Chick-fil-a and Starbucks are battling it out here in the Greenville upstate area for
[00:25:36] how many establishments they can have.
[00:25:38] I think Starbucks has it right now, but Chick-fil-a is gunning for them.
[00:25:42] I will say this about the Chick-fil-a.
[00:25:44] I will tip my hat to whether or not it is quicker, the drive-thru makes you think that they are
[00:25:54] busting it.
[00:25:56] My wife showed me a meme the other day that was like,
[00:26:01] why do I feel like the Chick-fil-a drive-thru worker would die for me?
[00:26:04] And it's like, yeah, they really are like,
[00:26:08] let's go, let's do this thing.
[00:26:09] And it gives you that feeling of they're really trying in there.
[00:26:15] They're really busting it for me.
[00:26:19] I have gone on many a rants about how the waffle fries are trash.
[00:26:23] You've heard me talk about this.
[00:26:24] I don't need to get into it.
[00:26:25] It's so weird too.
[00:26:26] They're trash.
[00:26:27] They're trash fries.
[00:26:29] But the chicken is always consistent and the spicy chicken, lovely.
[00:26:35] Would it be on your list?
[00:26:38] It might sneak in, but just because I like other chicken more, but they're not national.
[00:26:45] So I would have to put a national.
[00:26:47] Popeye's is national?
[00:26:48] Popeye's is national.
[00:26:50] Yeah, I'd probably put Popeye's on there.
[00:26:51] Yeah, Popeye's crushes Chick-fil-a.
[00:26:53] Here's the thing, and this may be a hot take from a Southerner.
[00:26:55] I don't like Chick-fil-a.
[00:26:57] I never really have.
[00:27:00] Well, it's because you're a woke bee.
[00:27:01] That's true.
[00:27:02] That's a big part of it.
[00:27:02] It is a big part of it.
[00:27:03] It has nothing to do with that.
[00:27:05] The elephant in the room, obviously, Chick-fil-a.
[00:27:07] They've done some questions.
[00:27:09] Well, the money they give to is organizations that typically don't like.
[00:27:13] They aren't very inclusive.
[00:27:14] That is not why I don't like Chick-fil-a.
[00:27:16] There is nothing food wise at Chick-fil-a that they make that is the best.
[00:27:20] You can make an argument of pepper and milkshake.
[00:27:22] It's around for two and a half, three months a year.
[00:27:24] That does not count.
[00:27:26] The reason I think people love Chick-fil-a, especially in the South, is it is a routine.
[00:27:30] It is consistent.
[00:27:33] And they're polite.
[00:27:34] The deviation from the mean, the average of what you get at Chick-fil-a is so small.
[00:27:39] Every time you go to Chick-fil-a, it tastes virtually the same and it comes out at the
[00:27:45] same temperature and at the same speed.
[00:27:47] And people like that.
[00:27:48] Parents with kids who don't want to wait forever for their food, they like that.
[00:27:52] They can play in the play place.
[00:27:53] They go and they get the kids meal.
[00:27:54] They can change the toy for the ice cream.
[00:27:56] Great.
[00:27:57] My kids adore Chick-fil-a.
[00:28:00] I would be fine never, ever eating Chick-fil-a again.
[00:28:04] I have been that way for over a decade.
[00:28:07] It does nothing for it.
[00:28:08] You're ahead of the curve.
[00:28:10] Popeyes, KFC, Zaxby's, all of those chickens are far superior.
[00:28:17] I don't think Zaxby's is national though.
[00:28:19] I don't think Zaxby's is national.
[00:28:20] Because Ewing Magoo's isn't national.
[00:28:22] Oh, I had them at Mr. Beastbox by the way.
[00:28:25] Really good time.
[00:28:26] Yeah.
[00:28:26] Really good time.
[00:28:27] And the Feastable bar is pretty good.
[00:28:29] Bojangles is not national.
[00:28:31] Give me Bojangles, Zaxby's, Popeyes, and even KFC over Chick-fil-a.
[00:28:36] And Ewing Magoo's.
[00:28:39] There are a half dozen fried chicken restaurants in the city of Greenville proper.
[00:28:46] But I think for a lot of the country is Chick-fil-a.
[00:28:50] But having said that, your pick is not crazy here.
[00:28:53] No, no, no.
[00:28:54] This is on a lot of people's list.
[00:28:56] Yeah.
[00:28:57] We're spoiled with chicken down here.
[00:28:59] We understand that.
[00:29:00] But also if you ask everyday Greenvillians,
[00:29:02] they're telling you they're going to Chick-fil-a all the time.
[00:29:05] And I do think part of that too is talking about the consistency.
[00:29:09] We've all had experiences at fast food in particular where you go and you...
[00:29:16] Something's wrong with your order.
[00:29:18] Something's wrong with your order and you go up and you feel like you're a burden
[00:29:22] and they're mad at you and you're ruining their day.
[00:29:26] I've never felt that at Chick-fil-a.
[00:29:28] Chick-fil-a, their whole thing is just our pleasure.
[00:29:30] There's something about that as a Southerner that's built in to like,
[00:29:34] oh yeah, this is a place that feels like home.
[00:29:37] There's something about the way in which they do that that's very smart.
[00:29:40] Southerners also like things really plain.
[00:29:42] And the chicken sandwich is chicken, bread and pickle.
[00:29:44] That is it.
[00:29:45] And virtually no one else as their flagship menu item
[00:29:49] serves a sandwich with no condiments or no toppings or no nothing
[00:29:54] but fried chicken with two pieces of bread and two pickles if you want them.
[00:29:58] That is exactly what speaks to...
[00:30:01] And I know it's coming out like this.
[00:30:02] Yeah.
[00:30:03] And I know it's fresh.
[00:30:04] And I know that everybody's working really hard.
[00:30:06] All that speaks to people down here.
[00:30:08] Doesn't speak to me because food's not good.
[00:30:10] It's not great.
[00:30:11] It's just fine.
[00:30:12] But whatever.
[00:30:13] Not shocked.
[00:30:14] Not shocked it's on your list.
[00:30:15] I could do without the manager coming around and interrupting me as I'm taking a bite,
[00:30:19] asking me how everything is and they could chill out on that a bit.
[00:30:21] Dude, it's nonstop.
[00:30:23] It's crazy.
[00:30:24] It's an experience for sure.
[00:30:27] All right, let's take one more quick break.
[00:30:28] Okay.
[00:30:28] I think we've done a lot of good here and everybody knows that everybody's waiting for
[00:30:32] the top four.
[00:30:33] They're all bangers.
[00:30:34] A lot of people think top three.
[00:30:35] I say no, no, no.
[00:30:36] I thought for sure we'd take a break after four but you're ahead of me.
[00:30:39] Yeah, I am.
[00:30:39] Let's take one more quick break.
[00:30:40] We'll come back here on...
[00:30:41] Diz Liz.
[00:30:51] I do want to just really say quickly there is a review on deck the Hallmark
[00:30:56] that is this kiss lyrics to Diz Liz.
[00:31:02] Oh man, I haven't read that.
[00:31:03] It's really wonderful.
[00:31:04] I should read it.
[00:31:04] I'm going to pull that up at some point.
[00:31:06] We can't do it now though because we got the national food chain.
[00:31:09] Top four.
[00:31:10] Top ten.
[00:31:11] Taco Bell, nine.
[00:31:12] Dunkin', eight.
[00:31:13] Cheesecake Factory, seven.
[00:31:16] Dairy Queen also known as DQ.
[00:31:18] DQ.
[00:31:19] The Mighty Ducks, six.
[00:31:20] Starbucks, five.
[00:31:23] Chick-fil-A.
[00:31:24] That brings us to the top four.
[00:31:28] Number four on the list, Famous Dave's.
[00:31:32] You guys heard of this?
[00:31:33] So we don't have Famous Dave's but they're building one on Woodruff Road.
[00:31:36] Are they really?
[00:31:36] Yes.
[00:31:37] There's one in...
[00:31:38] They're building one across from the Zaxby's on Woodruff Road.
[00:31:40] What is that?
[00:31:41] Wieners?
[00:31:41] It's chicken.
[00:31:42] Ribs.
[00:31:42] Oh, different Dave's.
[00:31:43] I'm thinking of Dave's Chicken.
[00:31:45] I've never heard of Famous Dave's.
[00:31:46] Really?
[00:31:47] Yes.
[00:31:47] It is national.
[00:31:48] There is one in South Carolina.
[00:31:50] It's a barbecue joint.
[00:31:53] Really good ribs.
[00:31:54] Really good ribs.
[00:31:55] Delicious.
[00:31:56] National barbecue, bro?
[00:31:57] Yeah.
[00:31:59] Yeah, good stuff.
[00:32:00] I was at a point in my life I was doing a contract job for this company in Kansas City.
[00:32:05] The guy I was working with was a barbecued food judge.
[00:32:09] And he said, when you get out here, I'm going to take you to my favorite barbecue around here.
[00:32:14] And I was psyched because I'm like, this guy's a judge.
[00:32:17] I'm going to get a meal.
[00:32:18] And he took me to Famous Dave's, which I had just eaten at back in Manchester, New Hampshire,
[00:32:23] before I left for that trip because we had one too.
[00:32:26] Wow.
[00:32:26] And it broke near us in Fort Mill.
[00:32:29] Okay, that's not far.
[00:32:30] It might be a month of journey.
[00:32:31] We have to go out there and try it.
[00:32:32] I mean, obviously, I'm not going to mess with this pit because I've never had this food.
[00:32:35] Yeah.
[00:32:35] Good barbecue, ribs really, really good.
[00:32:38] I mean, ribs are on the logo.
[00:32:39] So clearly-
[00:32:40] Is it a baby back situation or a spare rib?
[00:32:42] No, you're getting-
[00:32:43] That looks baby back to me.
[00:32:46] Either.
[00:32:46] There, I always get just the spare rib.
[00:32:48] Yeah, yeah, yeah.
[00:32:49] The full rack.
[00:32:50] The meatier one.
[00:32:50] Yeah, yeah, yeah.
[00:32:51] That's what I'm talking about.
[00:32:52] Yeah.
[00:32:54] Good logo, little pig.
[00:32:56] Yellow piglet who is his friend, his cousin.
[00:32:59] That's right.
[00:32:59] Yes.
[00:32:59] A little cannibalism.
[00:33:00] We always love that.
[00:33:02] I'm not mad about a rib, Brant.
[00:33:04] No, I don't even know of any-
[00:33:07] A smaller restaurant, but is it national?
[00:33:10] I don't know of any national barbecue places that I would put on here.
[00:33:14] No, because you can't replicate barbecue because you need a smoker.
[00:33:19] That's whenever I hear a chain barbecue, I'm like,
[00:33:21] how do they have the same smoker and smoking equipment?
[00:33:24] It's just really hard to do.
[00:33:26] But if you're telling me it's worth it, Bry, four mil, let's do it.
[00:33:28] A good meal for the vlog.
[00:33:30] Okay, all right.
[00:33:32] Four is high though.
[00:33:33] Oh my gosh.
[00:33:33] The next time we don't have anything to do, which is all the time around early.
[00:33:36] Maybe like tomorrow.
[00:33:37] We just leave at 9.30 in the morning and we get to the famous Dave's.
[00:33:41] We eat, we're home by 1.30.
[00:33:43] Normal day.
[00:33:44] Normal day.
[00:33:45] Normal day for famous Dave's.
[00:33:46] Recording the car, easy.
[00:33:48] All right, this is top three.
[00:33:50] Here we go.
[00:33:51] It's getting real.
[00:33:51] All right, so after famous days of four.
[00:33:53] I should have break down to four.
[00:33:54] I should have break down to four.
[00:33:55] It was an easy break because we didn't know.
[00:33:56] I should have break down to four.
[00:33:57] It's all right, but you're the pro.
[00:33:59] I should have break down to four.
[00:33:59] There's a lucky guess on my part.
[00:34:00] Yeah, sure.
[00:34:01] We'll learn.
[00:34:01] I still trust you.
[00:34:03] It's a good break.
[00:34:04] Here we go.
[00:34:05] Three on the list.
[00:34:07] Popeyes.
[00:34:08] Love that chicken from Popeyes.
[00:34:10] Love it.
[00:34:10] Love it.
[00:34:11] Love it.
[00:34:11] Thankful this is higher than Chick-fil-A.
[00:34:13] Yeah.
[00:34:13] Oh, yeah.
[00:34:14] Yeah, it's the best chicken.
[00:34:16] Well, because Chick-fil-A is not on the list for chicken.
[00:34:18] It's partially chicken.
[00:34:20] Partially the shake.
[00:34:23] You couldn't defend this list in a court of law.
[00:34:25] I can tell you that right now.
[00:34:27] You couldn't.
[00:34:28] Popeyes number three is pretty solid.
[00:34:29] It's great.
[00:34:30] Okay.
[00:34:30] Popeyes three is great.
[00:34:31] All right, Chick-fil-A questionable, but I do like it.
[00:34:34] You basically put Dairy Queen, Cheesecake Factory, Dunkin' Donuts, and Chick-fil-A
[00:34:39] all on the list for dessert.
[00:34:41] Munchkin is a dessert.
[00:34:42] I don't care what anybody says.
[00:34:43] I got to cover the base.
[00:34:44] I'm really...
[00:34:44] Four of your eight picks are dessert.
[00:34:47] But they also have food there.
[00:34:48] But that's not why you put it on there.
[00:34:50] Not primarily, but you can.
[00:34:52] I got to say...
[00:34:54] I love Popeyes.
[00:34:54] Love Popeyes.
[00:34:55] Popeyes is wonderful.
[00:34:56] Great pick.
[00:34:59] I'm really intrigued here because so far, aside from Cheesecake Factory, all of this
[00:35:04] would be considered fast food.
[00:35:06] Yes.
[00:35:06] And so is two, one, are they going to be fast food?
[00:35:10] Are they going to be...
[00:35:11] Literally seven picks for the drive-thru window.
[00:35:13] You know, we got...
[00:35:14] What else?
[00:35:14] What are we missing here, Dan?
[00:35:17] Obviously, there's not a lot to say about Popeyes.
[00:35:19] Popeyes is wonderful.
[00:35:20] The thing about Popeyes is the chicken is spicy enough.
[00:35:23] If you get their spicy chicken, it doesn't hold back.
[00:35:25] They go hard on the spices.
[00:35:27] Sauce is great.
[00:35:28] The chicken sandwich, if you want an actual real chicken sandwich...
[00:35:32] Real hearty.
[00:35:33] Popeyes Cajun chicken sandwich with the Cajun remoulade or whatever that is on there, it
[00:35:38] is delightful.
[00:35:39] No one looks at the chicken from Popeyes and goes...
[00:35:41] I felt like they didn't.
[00:35:42] They skimped on it.
[00:35:43] I felt like they held back with the chicken.
[00:35:44] It's so good.
[00:35:45] Big fan.
[00:35:46] I know what I think should be up here.
[00:35:50] What I can tell you is that if he's going to continue with fast food, we really don't
[00:35:56] have a burger represented.
[00:35:57] Right.
[00:35:59] So I get the feeling you may see one of those coming in.
[00:36:02] Like what would you...
[00:36:03] I don't know what he's going to put.
[00:36:04] McDonald's.
[00:36:05] A Fuddruckers or a McDonald's.
[00:36:06] A Fuddruckers would be a good one.
[00:36:08] A Burger King.
[00:36:09] I'm hoping...
[00:36:10] Can I tell you what I'm hoping for?
[00:36:10] Tell me what you're thinking about.
[00:36:11] I'm hoping that five guys...
[00:36:13] That'd be a really good addition.
[00:36:15] That would be high for me at one or two, but it's better than everything on the board
[00:36:19] but Popeyes.
[00:36:20] I think anybody with a mouth would say that five guys makes the best fast burger.
[00:36:26] It's an undeniable...
[00:36:27] I don't even go often because I think it's too expensive and I could just get better
[00:36:30] food and sit down somewhere, but it's so consistent.
[00:36:33] Yeah, I think that'd be good.
[00:36:35] Yeah, I don't...
[00:36:36] But do you expect to see an Applebee's or a Chili's or a...
[00:36:39] I'm shocked we only have one place you sit down and get table service because my list
[00:36:43] would have at least five of them.
[00:36:45] A Longhorn.
[00:36:46] Two weeks ago before we knew we were doing this, I don't really like food from a drive-thru.
[00:36:50] He mentioned Chipotle.
[00:36:52] Oh yeah.
[00:36:53] Duking it out with Chick-fil-A.
[00:36:54] We need Chipotle up there, I think for sure.
[00:36:57] All right, go ahead, Brian.
[00:36:57] Number two on the list.
[00:36:59] Here we go.
[00:37:00] Cracker Barrel.
[00:37:01] God bless America.
[00:37:03] What are you doing?
[00:37:05] I need to have a little breakfast joint on the list.
[00:37:08] A breakfast joint.
[00:37:10] You got Dunkin Donuts.
[00:37:11] Big Pancake Guy.
[00:37:12] Starbucks.
[00:37:13] A Big Pancake Guy.
[00:37:15] What about IHOP?
[00:37:15] The hash brown casserole.
[00:37:17] The pancakes from Cracker Barrel are better than IHOP.
[00:37:20] Yeah.
[00:37:20] All right, first of all...
[00:37:22] All the food is better.
[00:37:23] Your opinions on this matter more than me because I could take or leave pancakes.
[00:37:27] But as a whole, Cracker Barrel's food is for people that don't like Southern food
[00:37:34] or that aren't from the South that want to eat Southern food.
[00:37:37] That is on the whole.
[00:37:38] Now not breakfast.
[00:37:39] Breakfast is its own thing.
[00:37:40] But if you're doing this just for breakfast...
[00:37:44] I only think about Cracker Barrel in regards to breakfast.
[00:37:46] Same here.
[00:37:47] I don't eat dinner there.
[00:37:48] I just think about it as a racket, like a waste of time.
[00:37:52] Let's talk about what Cracker Barrel does well.
[00:37:54] Obviously pancakes.
[00:37:54] The general store.
[00:37:56] The general store is a wonderful time.
[00:38:00] They, yeah, the little golf tee thing.
[00:38:02] Very smart.
[00:38:04] The commitment to locations only off of an exit.
[00:38:09] Really impressive.
[00:38:10] So they've done a lot of things really well at the Cracker Barrel.
[00:38:14] But, Brian...
[00:38:16] I'm not saying it's on my list!
[00:38:17] Okay, but this is called the dis-list.
[00:38:19] I understand.
[00:38:20] You're trying to help him out here.
[00:38:21] At number two...
[00:38:22] I'm just talking it through.
[00:38:24] Yes, for me, Cracker Barrel is only good for the pancakes.
[00:38:27] I have had dinner there.
[00:38:29] Wouldn't recommend.
[00:38:29] Pancakes are dime a dozen.
[00:38:30] No, that's not true.
[00:38:32] All right, okay.
[00:38:32] I'm going to go have these pancakes, I guess.
[00:38:34] They're good pancakes.
[00:38:35] They're really good.
[00:38:36] Blueberry, plant...
[00:38:37] Oh man.
[00:38:37] It's just...
[00:38:38] Gosh.
[00:38:38] Delicious.
[00:38:39] It's got a slight crisp to it, but it's not burnt.
[00:38:42] It's a great pancake.
[00:38:43] No, stop!
[00:38:44] You're wrong about this.
[00:38:44] Pancakes are so easy.
[00:38:46] No, not a good...
[00:38:46] The deviation of pancakes is just like this.
[00:38:50] You're wrong about that.
[00:38:51] But, no, it is.
[00:38:53] But also, I need to hear why this is number...
[00:38:55] Like, you said breakfast and pancakes.
[00:38:58] I understand why it's on your list.
[00:39:00] Why is it number two ahead of two or three classic...
[00:39:05] I do love...
[00:39:06] I do love that the Cracker Barrel logo is just a white guy with apparel.
[00:39:10] They didn't try.
[00:39:13] We are what we are.
[00:39:14] It's in the name.
[00:39:15] If you snuck this in at 10 and be like, pancakes, I'd have been like, okay.
[00:39:19] But something like Taco Bell...
[00:39:21] Two is pretty crazy.
[00:39:22] Taco Bell, Popeyes...
[00:39:24] I really like going to Cracker Barrel.
[00:39:25] These are universal places.
[00:39:27] Cracker Barrel, you get a divided yes or uh.
[00:39:32] It is such a divisive place to eat.
[00:39:36] Why two for you?
[00:39:38] I really like eating at Cracker Barrel.
[00:39:39] I think the food is good.
[00:39:41] It's a good time.
[00:39:42] The pan...
[00:39:43] Yeah, the pancakes are a big deal to me.
[00:39:46] A good pancake...
[00:39:48] You go and just get a mediocre one.
[00:39:49] It just doesn't hit the spot.
[00:39:51] And Cracker Barrel will hit every time.
[00:39:53] And that casserole...
[00:39:55] What's that called?
[00:39:56] The hash brown casserole.
[00:39:57] Just keep it coming.
[00:39:59] Don't stop with that.
[00:40:00] And the coffee, good.
[00:40:01] You know, you're getting a good cup of joe there.
[00:40:04] I like the food.
[00:40:06] I don't think I've ever had a bad time eating at Cracker Barrel.
[00:40:09] Wow.
[00:40:10] So immediately, this was one of the first restaurants when I was thinking of this list.
[00:40:14] It just popped in my head and I was like, yes.
[00:40:16] Add that.
[00:40:16] Absolutely.
[00:40:17] That has always been really high on the list.
[00:40:19] This is a tough list, bro.
[00:40:21] I know there's lots of choices so we're gonna have some discrepancy.
[00:40:24] But it's hard to abide by almost all of these.
[00:40:31] I mean, Starbucks would make my list.
[00:40:33] Popeyes would make my list.
[00:40:35] Yeah, you like Cheesecake Factory on there.
[00:40:37] Oh my god.
[00:40:38] That's tough.
[00:40:40] Cracker Barrel at two is tough.
[00:40:41] And my guess is Chipotle's one, Brant.
[00:40:44] What are you thinking at one?
[00:40:45] I would be...
[00:40:47] The fact that he mentioned it, I'd be really...
[00:40:49] Like if it's between Chick-fil-A and Chipotle at only the five spot, that'd be weird.
[00:40:54] It was weird that he wrestled at five and then he popped a one.
[00:40:57] Popped a one.
[00:40:58] If Chipotle doesn't make this list now, I'm gonna throw this microphone at him.
[00:41:02] What's number one, Bri?
[00:41:03] All right.
[00:41:04] Ten, Taco Bell.
[00:41:05] Nine, Dunkin' Donuts.
[00:41:07] Eight, Cheesecake Factory.
[00:41:08] Seven, Dairy Queen.
[00:41:10] Six, Starbucks.
[00:41:12] Five, Chick-fil-A.
[00:41:13] Four, Famous Dave's.
[00:41:15] Three, Popeyes.
[00:41:16] Two, Cracker Barrel.
[00:41:18] And the number one national restaurant chain in the country according to Brian Harreld is...
[00:41:25] Texas Roadhouse.
[00:41:27] This is so wild.
[00:41:28] It's so crazy.
[00:41:30] He didn't throw the microphone.
[00:41:32] Go ahead.
[00:41:32] Hit me with why Texas Roadhouse should be on this list.
[00:41:35] Texas Roadhouse is great.
[00:41:37] The donuts Texas Roadhouse gives you, first of all.
[00:41:41] The rolls?
[00:41:42] The rolls?
[00:41:42] Yeah, the rolls.
[00:41:43] With the butter.
[00:41:44] You're talking about donuts.
[00:41:44] Yeah, they're basically like donuts.
[00:41:46] The rolls are amazing.
[00:41:46] You only know two foods?
[00:41:47] It's like a dessert.
[00:41:48] The rolls are amazing.
[00:41:49] Is it just bread and then dessert?
[00:41:52] Cinnamon donut, warm cinnamon donuts.
[00:41:54] The rolls are amazing.
[00:41:55] Yeah, absolutely.
[00:41:56] The rolls are unbelievable.
[00:41:57] It starts with the rolls.
[00:41:58] Absolutely.
[00:41:59] Then you roll over...
[00:41:59] Go ahead.
[00:42:00] It's yours.
[00:42:00] I'll let you do it.
[00:42:02] I really like their salads.
[00:42:03] Their salads are great.
[00:42:04] Yes.
[00:42:04] See, it always comes in an ice cold bowl.
[00:42:06] Freezing cold.
[00:42:07] Crunchy lettuce.
[00:42:08] Oh man.
[00:42:09] Every time.
[00:42:09] You can get a 10 ounce Coors Original there, which I love.
[00:42:12] A banquet beer.
[00:42:12] Yes.
[00:42:13] I just put those back real quick.
[00:42:16] So that's a good time.
[00:42:17] They used to dance.
[00:42:18] I don't think...
[00:42:19] Imagine Brian just getting wasted at a Texas Roadhouse.
[00:42:22] In fact, I can't.
[00:42:24] We should go to Dunkin' after this.
[00:42:27] For dessert.
[00:42:28] And then go to Dairy Queen for dessert.
[00:42:30] And then go to Cheesecake Factory for dessert.
[00:42:33] And then it was Christmas time, let's go to Chick-fil-A for dessert.
[00:42:37] The best day.
[00:42:38] Okay.
[00:42:40] The salad.
[00:42:41] Coors Banquet.
[00:42:41] I really like the steak there.
[00:42:44] I get a nice filet.
[00:42:46] Flo's Filet, I think it is.
[00:42:47] Flo's Filet is at Longhorn.
[00:42:48] Longhorn, is that?
[00:42:49] Okay, so we get the filet.
[00:42:50] And they used to do the line dancing, which I don't think they do that anymore.
[00:42:54] When it's your kid's birthday...
[00:42:55] He nuts all over the floor.
[00:42:56] All of them.
[00:42:57] Doesn't bother me.
[00:42:57] Great.
[00:42:58] P.S. Don't bother me.
[00:42:59] Probably the number two question I get when I go there.
[00:43:02] Are you going to be okay?
[00:43:02] You're going to be okay.
[00:43:03] Oh, wow.
[00:43:04] Yeah.
[00:43:04] I'm fine with the peanut dust.
[00:43:06] And then when it's your kid's birthday, even if it's not,
[00:43:08] you tell them they all come out and scream and holler.
[00:43:11] It's great.
[00:43:12] Yeah, really good food.
[00:43:13] Super great atmosphere.
[00:43:15] I owned the stock for a long time as well.
[00:43:17] Yeah.
[00:43:17] Made a pretty penny off of that.
[00:43:18] So I was pretty psyched.
[00:43:21] It's all making sense.
[00:43:22] He owns stock.
[00:43:23] Have you owned stock in all of these?
[00:43:25] I do own Starbucks.
[00:43:27] No, Duncan.
[00:43:29] No, just Starbucks at this time.
[00:43:32] Yeah.
[00:43:32] Brian, Texas Roadhouse.
[00:43:34] Oh, I do love Texas Roadhouse.
[00:43:39] Their steak whomps.
[00:43:40] And I think it's important to note...
[00:43:44] Why did you nod your head?
[00:43:45] He said whomps.
[00:43:46] You don't think so?
[00:43:46] It's not a good...
[00:43:47] I don't think it's a good steak.
[00:43:48] Okay.
[00:43:49] No, the steak whomps.
[00:43:50] The steak whomps.
[00:43:51] You're right.
[00:43:53] The rolls are so...
[00:43:55] You know how important bread is to me.
[00:43:57] You guys both are chosen your entire list off of fry bread and ice cream.
[00:44:00] I just need you to know that.
[00:44:02] I'm not saying...
[00:44:03] This list is trash, Dan.
[00:44:06] Dan, the list is trash.
[00:44:07] The list is trash.
[00:44:09] The rolls at Texas Roadhouse are so good that I get excited to go.
[00:44:14] And it's never my choice to go.
[00:44:17] My in-laws live right by a Texas Roadhouse.
[00:44:19] I always want to go.
[00:44:20] And here's the freaking crazy thing about Texas Roadhouse.
[00:44:23] If you don't get there before like 4.30, good freaking luck.
[00:44:28] You're right.
[00:44:28] Good freaking luck.
[00:44:29] It's ridiculous.
[00:44:29] It's crazy.
[00:44:31] But the rolls are so good that I get excited to go.
[00:44:33] And I'm like, I can't wait.
[00:44:34] And I just down baskets.
[00:44:36] You down the banquets.
[00:44:38] I down the baskets.
[00:44:39] That's what we're going for.
[00:44:41] Really, really good bread.
[00:44:42] Number one is insane.
[00:44:46] But I don't really know what I'm going to do about it.
[00:44:48] Well, I mean, can I tell you this?
[00:44:51] I'm a steak snob, as you guys both know.
[00:44:53] Sure.
[00:44:53] I don't order steak out unless I know it's going to be great.
[00:44:55] I'd rather just grill it at my house where I know it's going to be great.
[00:44:59] Texas Roadhouse is my favorite of the chains.
[00:45:02] And the reason it's my favorite of the chains is not because of the steak,
[00:45:05] which is just mediocre.
[00:45:06] It's because everything else that you mentioned is 100% spot on.
[00:45:10] And this would probably make my list.
[00:45:12] If you're asking me and we're driving down the road and we have all the time in the world
[00:45:15] where I want to go to lunch on this list, probably Texas Roadhouse.
[00:45:19] Because you walk in the door, the rolls, the butter, unbelievable.
[00:45:23] The apps are good.
[00:45:23] The rattle steak bites.
[00:45:24] Yeah, absolutely.
[00:45:25] Oh my goodness.
[00:45:26] Great.
[00:45:26] Salads on point every time.
[00:45:28] And you know what?
[00:45:29] If you don't want a mediocre steak, their chicken tenders are really good.
[00:45:32] They are.
[00:45:32] My roommate in college waited tables and bartended at Texas Roadhouse.
[00:45:37] I would go and get free drinks, free salad, 25% off of everything else.
[00:45:40] So I'd sit at the bar, drink beer and just pay 75% of my entree.
[00:45:46] I've had virtually everything on the menu there.
[00:45:48] And I can tell you the food is not only by and large good, but consistent.
[00:45:54] And so that is easily the highest quality place on your list.
[00:45:59] One, I don't know.
[00:46:01] We got some questions though.
[00:46:02] Before I get to my list, I already know what kind of what I'm doing.
[00:46:06] You said at number five, Brian, there's no way you're going to be able to make sense of this.
[00:46:10] And we have it recorded.
[00:46:11] At five, I was debating.
[00:46:14] At number five, you heard him, right?
[00:46:16] I heard him.
[00:46:16] At number five, I was debating between Chick-fil-A and Chipotle.
[00:46:20] And what that meant for you was Chick-fil-A made the list and Chipotle didn't move to four or six.
[00:46:27] It got kicked slam off the list in favor of four dessert joints.
[00:46:33] What happened?
[00:46:34] You know, Chick-fil-A is good.
[00:46:36] I like Chick-fil-A.
[00:46:36] I just am not...
[00:46:38] That's not it.
[00:46:38] You can put Chick-fil-A there.
[00:46:39] Why didn't Chipotle make the list at all if you were thinking about it at five?
[00:46:42] I meant Chipotle.
[00:46:44] I don't know.
[00:46:45] I wasn't feeling it.
[00:46:46] I just wasn't feeling it on the list.
[00:46:48] He wasn't feeling it, Brim.
[00:46:50] It's a good spot.
[00:46:51] I just feel like I've mentioned a few times that you keep combating with me.
[00:46:55] I'm trying to fill out all the spots.
[00:47:01] You didn't get any Southwest Mexican anything on there.
[00:47:03] I didn't.
[00:47:03] Yo, Taco Bell.
[00:47:04] Excuse me.
[00:47:04] Excuse me.
[00:47:05] Yeah, I got the bell on the right.
[00:47:06] So I got that covered.
[00:47:08] And there were just certain bases I wanted to hit.
[00:47:11] Taco Bell was one of them.
[00:47:12] Yeah, absolutely.
[00:47:13] 100% breakfast.
[00:47:14] Yeah, pancakes check.
[00:47:16] All right.
[00:47:16] So, uh, do you know what you're doing here?
[00:47:20] I know the two that I'm going to put in there.
[00:47:21] Would you have any honorable mentions from Chipotle or is that it for the honorable mentions?
[00:47:25] I do have some.
[00:47:26] Do you want me to say?
[00:47:27] Because I feel like you're going to pick.
[00:47:28] Oh, no, no, no, no, no.
[00:47:28] That's right.
[00:47:29] You don't want to say them because we could pick one.
[00:47:31] That's right.
[00:47:31] Um, I don't know if Yardhouse is a national chain or not.
[00:47:35] I think it is.
[00:47:36] I think I saw that on the Yardhouse.
[00:47:37] Yardhouse is consistently delicious.
[00:47:39] It's it is not like I'm not going there if I have a choice of meal.
[00:47:44] But if you're asking me about a national chain, it has a ton of options like Cheesecake Factory.
[00:47:49] And the food is always like better than average for me.
[00:47:52] Giant pretzel, ahi tuna nachos, got a great Nashville hot chicken sandwich, a ton of beer
[00:47:59] selection.
[00:48:00] Um, Yardhouse is a great pick, but I'm not sure it's national.
[00:48:04] I've Googled a lot of things while we've been doing this.
[00:48:06] It's the only one that didn't immediately come up with a yes or no.
[00:48:08] And so out of respect to the process and the dislist, I'm not going to put Yardhouse on
[00:48:13] my list, although I think it probably should be on the list.
[00:48:16] The two that I'm going to put you is okay.
[00:48:18] You got two that I'm going to put on the list are five guys in Chipotle.
[00:48:23] I think both of those restaurants are exactly what you think of when you think of quality
[00:48:30] fast national chain food restaurants.
[00:48:33] I think they're both national.
[00:48:35] They both are fast.
[00:48:36] They both give a lot of quality and consistency, whether you're in South Carolina or Louisiana
[00:48:40] or Oklahoma, California, wherever.
[00:48:42] Right?
[00:48:42] So, um, I got a whole bunch of these.
[00:48:45] I want to take off.
[00:48:46] I know if I take Duncan off, I'm going to lose you.
[00:48:49] Um, I'm going to make a, a switch, a direct switch Chipotle for Chick-fil-A.
[00:48:56] Since you were debating over that, I'm going to pull Chick-fil-A off of my list.
[00:48:59] I'm going to put Chipotle on.
[00:49:01] Sure.
[00:49:01] Okay.
[00:49:01] So I've got Chipotle at five.
[00:49:03] I might flip it here in a second and then I'm going to take off.
[00:49:09] It's so bad.
[00:49:10] Okay.
[00:49:10] Um, I'm going to take off Dairy Queen at seven.
[00:49:14] I'm going to put five guys in there at seven.
[00:49:17] Okay.
[00:49:18] Now, so I got five guys in for Dairy Queen and I've got Chipotle for Chick-fil-A.
[00:49:22] Now here's what we're doing.
[00:49:23] We're switching five or we're switching Chipotle and Cracker Barrel.
[00:49:28] So Chipotle goes up to two.
[00:49:30] Yep.
[00:49:30] The barrel goes down to five.
[00:49:32] Down the five barrel.
[00:49:33] Down to five.
[00:49:34] You got it?
[00:49:35] That's right.
[00:49:35] Yeah.
[00:49:35] Bottom of the barrel down there.
[00:49:37] And then, uh, after, after that, then we're going to maybe put, I don't know anything about
[00:49:45] Famous Dave.
[00:49:46] So it's tough for me to move that around.
[00:49:48] It's similar to Texas Roadhouse, you know, so it's, yeah.
[00:49:51] The ribs at Texas Roadhouse are legendary.
[00:49:54] That's what they call them.
[00:49:54] Yes, fall right off the bone there.
[00:49:55] Yeah.
[00:49:55] I don't know why you need Famous Dave's in there now that I say it out loud.
[00:49:58] I'm going to put five guys up there where Famous Dave's is and put Famous Dave's down at seven.
[00:50:06] So my list, one Texas Roadhouse, two Chipotle, three Popeyes, four, five guys, five Cracker
[00:50:18] Barrel, six Starbucks, seven Famous Dave's, eight Cheesecake Factory, nine Dunkin Donuts,
[00:50:26] 10 Taco Bell.
[00:50:27] I left all your faves on there.
[00:50:29] Yeah.
[00:50:29] I feel like I added a lot of value, a lot of quality, and I took off the redundancies or
[00:50:34] the absolute, you can't put Dairy Queen on this list of it all.
[00:50:40] And that look, I don't like some of these other ones, but I get it.
[00:50:42] I expected Dunkin.
[00:50:44] Taco Bell, that's a national fave.
[00:50:46] Brian, you can't have Dairy Queen on top 10 lists.
[00:50:48] You can't do it, man.
[00:50:50] We have a reputation to keep up.
[00:50:51] That looks pretty good there though.
[00:50:52] There's some integrity.
[00:50:53] We can't have Dairy Queen on this list.
[00:50:55] You know what I know, and Brandon knows, and we all know.
[00:50:56] It's a dark day if blizzards aren't a thing.
[00:50:58] We got, you got the peppermint chai.
[00:51:00] No, you don't.
[00:51:00] You don't have that.
[00:51:01] You took that right off too.
[00:51:01] I took both of those off.
[00:51:02] Yeah.
[00:51:02] So what am I going to do?
[00:51:03] Have both of them.
[00:51:03] Here we go.
[00:51:04] Brandon, you ready?
[00:51:04] Oh, hold on.
[00:51:05] I'm still working through it.
[00:51:06] Still working.
[00:51:06] All I have is my cheese cake and donuts.
[00:51:08] This is tough.
[00:51:08] It's tougher for you, I think, to do this in real time than me.
[00:51:11] Yeah, it is.
[00:51:11] It's one of the areas where I don't really have a...
[00:51:13] So you've got Taco Bell at 10.
[00:51:17] I'm gonna, I'm gonna, I'm gonna replace Taco Bell with five guys.
[00:51:27] Okay.
[00:51:27] Okay.
[00:51:28] So I'm going to get a burger place on there.
[00:51:30] And then I'm going to do, we'll do Dunkin' at nine.
[00:51:37] Yeah.
[00:51:37] Leave Cheesecake.
[00:51:39] Keep Dairy Queen.
[00:51:40] Keep Dairy Queen on the list, but I'm gonna flip it with five guys.
[00:51:45] So I'm gonna move five guys to seven.
[00:51:50] To seven, DQ to 10.
[00:51:52] That's right.
[00:51:52] To 10.
[00:51:53] That's right.
[00:51:54] I am going to move Starbucks up to number two.
[00:52:02] And I'm going to move Cracker Barrel down to six.
[00:52:07] And I'm gonna replace it with a pizza place.
[00:52:15] Because I think pizza needs to be represented.
[00:52:17] Dude, pizza needs to be on this list.
[00:52:18] Domino's?
[00:52:19] A little place called Domino's?
[00:52:20] But that's not sit-in, is it?
[00:52:21] Most Domino's aren't sit-in.
[00:52:22] Most aren't.
[00:52:23] They, some have like a...
[00:52:24] That one close to us has a spot.
[00:52:26] I'm putting Domino's on there.
[00:52:29] I'm putting Domino's there.
[00:52:30] Yep.
[00:52:31] Wow.
[00:52:31] Yep.
[00:52:32] So getting rid of Cracker Barrel.
[00:52:35] Chick-fil-A, I'm gonna keep it at five.
[00:52:37] You took out your number two entirely.
[00:52:38] Famous Dave's, I'm gonna keep it at four.
[00:52:40] I don't know anything about it.
[00:52:41] Yeah.
[00:52:42] And then, do I have one more switch?
[00:52:44] No.
[00:52:45] One more flip?
[00:52:47] Didn't you flip, you flipped the barrel down?
[00:52:49] Did you keep five guys at 10?
[00:52:52] Or did you flip it already?
[00:52:53] You flipped it with Gary Queen.
[00:52:55] So you've already done your two flips and your two switches.
[00:52:58] Okay, well then I'm keeping Popeye's at three
[00:53:01] and then Starbucks is two and Texas Red House is one.
[00:53:05] So...
[00:53:07] I wish I had more time.
[00:53:08] For him, one, I can't believe Domino's qualifies here.
[00:53:11] I just can't.
[00:53:12] Yeah, it's, yeah.
[00:53:13] I thought about that too because so much...
[00:53:14] And if it does, you're choosing it over all the other pizza chains?
[00:53:17] Pizza Hut and what's the other?
[00:53:20] Papa John's.
[00:53:21] Little Caesars.
[00:53:22] Is Marco's national?
[00:53:23] If Marco's is national, then I'd put Marco's on there.
[00:53:27] Can you sit in Marco's?
[00:53:28] You can sit in Domino's.
[00:53:29] I mean, yeah, if we're opening up...
[00:53:31] Right now, can I just put a pizza, just pizza there?
[00:53:37] A proxy.
[00:53:37] A proxy.
[00:53:38] Dom has over a thousand stores nationwide, including Puerto Rico
[00:53:42] as well as the Bahamas and India.
[00:53:43] Marco's Pizza National.
[00:53:44] Marco's it is.
[00:53:45] Marco's at five.
[00:53:47] Okay.
[00:53:48] How about that?
[00:53:48] Five?
[00:53:49] You mean Chick-fil-A at five?
[00:53:50] What did I say?
[00:53:51] Marco's at six or at...
[00:53:53] Marco's at six.
[00:53:54] Yes, I'm sorry.
[00:53:54] Yeah, yeah.
[00:53:55] So you went one Texas Roadhouse, two Starbucks, three Popeyes, four Famous Dave's, five Chick-fil-A,
[00:54:03] six Marco's.
[00:54:04] Yeah, let me... Can I talk through?
[00:54:06] Sure.
[00:54:06] One, I kept it Texas.
[00:54:08] If it was up to me, I wouldn't have Texas, but I do think one should be steak.
[00:54:13] And even though it's not my steak of choice, it is my roll of choice.
[00:54:17] So that's why I'm keeping it there at one because steak's the best
[00:54:20] and it should be number one.
[00:54:22] Starbucks, I moved up to two.
[00:54:24] I just think from a beverage perspective, they're the best in the customer satisfaction
[00:54:31] and what they do.
[00:54:33] I think it should be higher than where it is.
[00:54:35] Popeyes at three, it's the best of the chicken.
[00:54:37] Famous Dave's, don't know, don't care.
[00:54:38] Chick-fil-A, keep it where it is.
[00:54:39] Marco's at six.
[00:54:41] Pizza needs to be on the list.
[00:54:43] The fact that pizza's not on the list and I think Marco's of the ones mentioned.
[00:54:46] We had Marco's today.
[00:54:47] Oh, it's so much better.
[00:54:49] Never had it.
[00:54:50] You had it in the office one day.
[00:54:51] We had it two weeks ago.
[00:54:52] Didn't you have a piece?
[00:54:53] I don't know.
[00:54:54] Maybe I had a slice.
[00:54:56] And then five guys at seven, thanks to a switch them up and a replace, which gets me the burger.
[00:55:04] But no, you're out Southwest food.
[00:55:06] You don't have any on there.
[00:55:07] I don't.
[00:55:07] No Mexican, yeah.
[00:55:08] And then Dunkin' Cheesecake, DQ.
[00:55:10] So I went Texas Roadhouse one, Chipotle at two, Popeyes at three, Famous Dave's at four,
[00:55:19] five guys at five, Starbucks stays at six, Cracker Barrel at seven,
[00:55:25] Cheesecake Factory eight, Dunkin' nine, Taco Bell ten.
[00:55:28] We'll post these on the socials, I think.
[00:55:30] It'll be clear.
[00:55:31] It'll be clear because I think I'm still wrong somehow.
[00:55:35] I think I maybe did one too many things.
[00:55:36] He put us in a tough spot by putting no burgers, no pizza on the list.
[00:55:39] He did.
[00:55:40] And it was impossible to really do it justice from that regard.
[00:55:45] So Brian, honorable mentions.
[00:55:48] What'd you have?
[00:55:49] Fudruckers is my national burger of choice.
[00:55:53] And as we started this episode, I had a minor freak out thinking,
[00:55:57] why didn't I get Fudruckers on this list?
[00:55:58] Yeah.
[00:55:59] I like Fudruckers.
[00:56:00] I really like the Fudruckers burger.
[00:56:02] I mentioned that as an option the other week.
[00:56:04] We didn't do it.
[00:56:05] So which of us do you think did it better, Brian?
[00:56:08] This is tough because I don't really like five guys.
[00:56:11] I've never been impressed by food from five guys.
[00:56:13] I could be talking to Fudruckers.
[00:56:14] Oh, you could.
[00:56:15] I could 100% change out five guys for Fudruckers.
[00:56:18] But we've already given our list, Brian.
[00:56:20] We both put five guys on the list.
[00:56:21] I could be talked into it though.
[00:56:22] It's a proxy as a...
[00:56:23] But that's not how that works.
[00:56:25] But also the other thing with five guys that weirds me out.
[00:56:27] I know it's weird because Texas Roadhouse has peanuts a lot of places.
[00:56:29] They use peanut oil, I think.
[00:56:31] Oh, so this isn't really fair because Brian can't even try the french fries.
[00:56:34] I don't really like get down with it.
[00:56:36] Because the fries are good.
[00:56:37] Yeah, so I don't really mess with it too much.
[00:56:38] And the time I had the burgers there...
[00:56:40] The fries are better than Fudruckers.
[00:56:41] Yeah, they are.
[00:56:43] Yeah, Fudruckers has the cheese.
[00:56:45] The cheese sauce is great.
[00:56:46] Who would we just vote the double switch?
[00:56:48] It's a double switch.
[00:56:49] So my five guys is now Fudruckers.
[00:56:50] Just an allergy switch right here.
[00:56:52] Yeah, we're going to do...
[00:56:53] So my Fudruckers is now at five instead of five guys.
[00:56:56] It's Fudruckers at five.
[00:56:57] Yeah, yeah.
[00:56:58] And yours is at what, six or what did you end up with?
[00:57:00] Seven.
[00:57:01] I can't fairly do the five guys.
[00:57:03] Okay, good.
[00:57:03] So Fudruckers was a honorable mention.
[00:57:07] What you need to know is that I added Marcos at pizza.
[00:57:12] There's pizza now on the list.
[00:57:13] And I moved Starbucks up a good bit.
[00:57:15] Yes.
[00:57:15] Way up, way up.
[00:57:16] And you took the barrel off the list.
[00:57:17] Took the barrel off the list.
[00:57:18] That hurts.
[00:57:19] Yeah.
[00:57:19] It doesn't...
[00:57:20] I think even you know that that's insane.
[00:57:22] He does.
[00:57:23] I got it at two.
[00:57:23] It's insane.
[00:57:25] I think you know it's insane.
[00:57:26] His top two are both...
[00:57:29] Where did you put the barrel?
[00:57:30] It's at five, right?
[00:57:31] I put...
[00:57:31] I dropped the barrel down to seven.
[00:57:33] He took it off the list entirely.
[00:57:35] We both added Fudruckers.
[00:57:37] I added Chipotle.
[00:57:37] He added Marcos.
[00:57:38] All right.
[00:57:39] This was super hard.
[00:57:42] But I'm getting clarity here.
[00:57:44] This is all coming crystal clear.
[00:57:47] Do I announce my list now?
[00:57:48] All right.
[00:57:49] So the list I'm going with is Brands.
[00:57:51] Wow.
[00:57:52] I...
[00:57:53] He took Cracker Barrel off the list.
[00:57:54] I know.
[00:57:55] That hurts.
[00:57:55] But also putting Chipotle up there, I didn't...
[00:57:59] Where you said you were going to put it?
[00:58:01] You have it at...
[00:58:02] Don't you have it at two?
[00:58:03] Oh, I moved it to two from five.
[00:58:04] It's just so high for me.
[00:58:07] He said he always put it at five.
[00:58:09] Starbucks at two is right.
[00:58:10] Starbucks up there...
[00:58:12] Yeah, Starbucks is...
[00:58:13] You went too far.
[00:58:14] We went too low with six.
[00:58:15] I think you know in your heart of hearts you made a mistake.
[00:58:18] I'm also thrilled with your list over his too.
[00:58:20] So it's not my fault.
[00:58:21] But pizza being...
[00:58:22] I thought about Domino's.
[00:58:23] Yeah.
[00:58:24] But I was like, I don't...
[00:58:25] I do feel bad.
[00:58:26] And I know you haven't had...
[00:58:27] You say you haven't had Marcos.
[00:58:29] Just put pizza.
[00:58:30] It's just pizza.
[00:58:31] It's a pizza.
[00:58:31] Yeah, just a proxy.
[00:58:32] Yeah.
[00:58:33] But no, you're filling in the gaps of a burger and pizza is...
[00:58:37] The burger and pizza is what's missing.
[00:58:39] Having Chipotle on there, I don't...
[00:58:41] It's not doing it for me.
[00:58:42] So he took off Mexican food.
[00:58:43] It's tough with what you had.
[00:58:45] Like you've hamstrung us with too many dessert places.
[00:58:48] I don't know if I took off Mexican food.
[00:58:49] I took off Taco Bell.
[00:58:50] There's no Mexican at all on your list.
[00:58:52] And no Cracker Barrel.
[00:58:53] I'm saying Taco Bell to say Taco Bell is Mexican food.
[00:58:55] But in reality, if you take off Chick-fil-A or Popeyes
[00:59:00] and you take off Dunkin' Cheesecake, Dairy Queen or Cracker Barrel
[00:59:04] and you replace it with pizza and burgers,
[00:59:07] then you've accommodated everything.
[00:59:08] Yeah.
[00:59:09] Which neither of us did that, but he was closer.
[00:59:11] And he moved Starbucks to two and he took Cracker Barrel off the list.
[00:59:14] I'm thrilled with your list.
[00:59:15] It was a bold move.
[00:59:15] It was a bold move, but I felt like it had to...
[00:59:17] As soon as you took it off the list, I was like, he's going to pick my list.
[00:59:19] Yeah, it's a compromise for sure.
[00:59:21] I can't believe he did it, but...
[00:59:22] For sure.
[00:59:23] I feel like I'm being a bigger person.
[00:59:25] It only took us an hour.
[00:59:26] Can you believe that?
[00:59:26] That's it?
[00:59:27] Yeah, that's it.
[00:59:28] Bryce, thanks for playing the Diss List.
[00:59:29] Thanks for having me.
[00:59:30] Yeah, absolutely man.
[00:59:31] Let us know what your lists are.
[00:59:34] And also, we'll try, Dan and I will try to think through our top five.
[00:59:41] Yeah.
[00:59:41] We'll share it on socials like we did for Cereal.
[00:59:43] I thought that was a good time.
[00:59:44] Yeah.
[00:59:45] Not using Brian.
[00:59:46] Brian, we're going to get rid of Brian.
[00:59:47] Yeah, trash, right?
[00:59:48] We're going to think through our top five.
[00:59:50] All right everybody, bye.
[00:59:52] Merry Christmas.
