[00:00:04] Hi, I'm Bran and I love Hallmark Plus not Christmas movies.
[00:00:10] I'm Dan and I despise Hallmark Plus not Christmas movies.
[00:00:14] I'm Alonso and Hallmark Plus I do.
[00:00:17] And this is the Deck The Hallmark Podcast.
[00:00:20] Deck The Hallmark, it's this podcast.
[00:00:26] And friends host this podcast.
[00:00:30] We hope you like this jolly podcast.
[00:00:34] You know what's fun to do is do a kickoff episode.
[00:00:43] Do a kickoff episode on Friday.
[00:00:45] On Saturday.
[00:00:46] Chicken Sisters.
[00:00:47] So it's like okay, that's fine.
[00:00:49] It's like a little...
[00:00:50] Sure.
[00:00:50] Monday.
[00:00:53] When does Groomsmen come out?
[00:00:54] I don't actually know.
[00:00:56] All I know...
[00:00:56] Yeah, no, but when do...
[00:00:58] I don't know when this episode is coming out.
[00:00:59] But all I do know is that it's not a Christmas movie.
[00:01:01] And I don't know.
[00:01:02] I don't know what's going on.
[00:01:04] Is there a seventh year, Bran?
[00:01:05] Yes.
[00:01:05] This is the first time we've done preview kickoff not Christmas.
[00:01:09] Ever.
[00:01:09] Well, look, Hallmark Plus they said it'd be a game changer.
[00:01:12] And here we are.
[00:01:13] It has changed the game.
[00:01:15] Oh, we've got a paper calendar.
[00:01:15] Okay, so yes.
[00:01:16] Look it up.
[00:01:17] So we did a few Christmas movies and then we're right back at it with Groomsmen.
[00:01:20] We're back at it with Groomsmen.
[00:01:21] But it's come down in a week or so.
[00:01:22] Yes.
[00:01:23] We're at the Marathon House.
[00:01:24] Yeah, we are.
[00:01:25] How are you going, guys?
[00:01:26] So spoiler alert, we recorded this before the marathon on Friday.
[00:01:30] And so we don't actually know how the marathon went.
[00:01:32] But I am so happy to have...
[00:01:34] And this is news to you.
[00:01:36] I talked to somebody from the future.
[00:01:38] What?
[00:01:38] I know.
[00:01:39] They said we raised over a million dollars.
[00:01:43] A million dollars?
[00:01:44] Yes.
[00:01:44] And we got 100,000 new Bramble Jam Plus subscribers.
[00:01:49] Wow.
[00:01:50] So one of every 10 donors joined Bramble Jam Plus?
[00:01:53] It was a...
[00:01:54] 100,000 times 10 is a million.
[00:01:56] So we also made a million dollars a month on this team?
[00:01:59] YouTube is saying it's the biggest live of all time.
[00:02:01] The biggest live of all time.
[00:02:02] What are some tips for the future by Jam?
[00:02:05] By.
[00:02:06] And us.
[00:02:07] We went public, too.
[00:02:09] Yeah, we did get an IPO.
[00:02:11] I forgot about that.
[00:02:11] That was actually pretty big.
[00:02:12] Guys, thanks for raising redacted amount of money.
[00:02:15] Yes.
[00:02:16] We'll put it in.
[00:02:17] Yeah.
[00:02:17] For beloved Asheville.
[00:02:19] What a time.
[00:02:19] What a time we are going to head.
[00:02:21] Yes.
[00:02:22] 100%.
[00:02:23] And I got to be honest.
[00:02:24] We're out here in Taylor's, which is an area we don't venture off to very much.
[00:02:28] I love Taylor's.
[00:02:29] I think the big takeaway from Taylor's is that it's not Greenville.
[00:02:35] It's not Greenville.
[00:02:36] Correct.
[00:02:37] There's nothing like Greenville.
[00:02:39] You go to downtown Greenville, you have a wonderful time.
[00:02:41] Then you come out to Taylor's and you're like, I wish I was back in Greenville.
[00:02:44] Yeah.
[00:02:44] But the house is amazing.
[00:02:46] The house is unbelievable.
[00:02:47] But...
[00:02:47] Yeah, if I'd ever left the house, I would have an opinion about Taylor's.
[00:02:50] Yes.
[00:02:50] We'll do this.
[00:02:51] We'll take a bit.
[00:02:51] How about that?
[00:02:52] But shout out to Visit Greenville for once again being our location sponsor for the season.
[00:02:57] And it's great to be out in Taylor's to be reminded of how wonderful Greenville is.
[00:03:02] Yes, it is.
[00:03:02] I don't know if there's anything wrong with Taylor's.
[00:03:04] It's just that downtown Greenville is just really special.
[00:03:06] Nobody said, yeah, that Taylor's is all right.
[00:03:07] I'm not seeing a waterfall out here.
[00:03:09] No, there's a game of that much.
[00:03:10] No waterfall in it.
[00:03:11] Shout out to Philo.
[00:03:11] You can watch this Living Room episode on Deck the Hallmark only on Philo.
[00:03:15] Very casual.
[00:03:16] Very casual.
[00:03:17] We did have our tuxes on, but we thought since we're sitting on the couch, I didn't want it
[00:03:21] as a crease situation.
[00:03:22] That's right.
[00:03:22] And for a not Christmas episode, we do still have a tree up.
[00:03:25] So, you know, you get a little taste of everything.
[00:03:27] And I'm sure people at this point are aware of Christmas Movie Magic, the card game.
[00:03:32] And you might be wondering, how does that game work with the groomsmen?
[00:03:37] It does still a little bit.
[00:03:40] You got to work a little bit harder.
[00:03:41] Yeah.
[00:03:41] Because, you know, some of those like it snows.
[00:03:44] It doesn't work nearly as easily, but you could make it.
[00:03:48] You could make it work.
[00:03:48] There's not an absence of tropes going on.
[00:03:51] Yes.
[00:03:51] The tropes are still there.
[00:03:52] So, it's almost like Christmas Movie Magic advanced is to watch a Hallmark movie that's
[00:03:59] not a Christmas movie and see if you can still win.
[00:04:01] I think that's a way you could do it.
[00:04:03] Difficulty level six.
[00:04:04] Oh, through the roof.
[00:04:05] Deck the Hallmark.com slash game, though.
[00:04:07] It's sweeping the nation.
[00:04:09] It's sweeping the...
[00:04:09] Slash game.
[00:04:10] Slash game.
[00:04:11] Slash game.
[00:04:11] What would you have slashed it?
[00:04:12] We know.
[00:04:13] Cards, maybe?
[00:04:14] I don't know.
[00:04:14] Magic?
[00:04:15] I don't know.
[00:04:16] Slash game.
[00:04:16] Slash game.
[00:04:17] This is the one game.
[00:04:18] We've never had one.
[00:04:18] I love it.
[00:04:19] And now we have one.
[00:04:20] He's saving slash magic for when he has an all Orlando Magic podcast.
[00:04:23] Orlando Magic.
[00:04:23] Oh, my gosh.
[00:04:25] Can you imagine?
[00:04:26] The listener would be thrilled.
[00:04:31] Uh-oh.
[00:04:32] Here's something for you down here.
[00:04:34] You can't see it.
[00:04:35] It's a hole.
[00:04:36] It wasn't good.
[00:04:37] It wasn't good.
[00:04:40] Look, this is one of the few times a year where I get to actually say the Deck the Hallmark
[00:04:44] podcast.
[00:04:44] You know what?
[00:04:44] I was going to point this out.
[00:04:45] In the room.
[00:04:45] You did it with us, and I still felt like you were slightly behind.
[00:04:49] You know, because I'm used to that pause.
[00:04:51] You are.
[00:04:52] Yeah, yeah, yeah.
[00:04:52] Once you're used to it, it's hard to get over.
[00:04:55] I forgot that I got to say it.
[00:04:56] You were so excited.
[00:04:58] It is.
[00:04:58] It's only a couple times a year we get to be in a room together to do this, so it's fun.
[00:05:01] So, Alonzo, during this time, especially with The Groomsmen coming out and whatnot, and
[00:05:06] a little bit of a few weeks still until the Netflix Christmas movie take off, we still
[00:05:11] wanted you to be joining us.
[00:05:13] And so what better way than to bring you on for The Groomsmen?
[00:05:15] Sure.
[00:05:16] The Christmas guy.
[00:05:17] We're like, could you do The Groomsmen?
[00:05:18] Well, you know, look, let's face it.
[00:05:20] We're going to get a gay one in this trilogy, so I'm glad that there's some representation
[00:05:25] happening.
[00:05:25] Yeah.
[00:05:26] I knew so little about this that I wasn't sure what they were going to do with Jonathan
[00:05:31] Bennett based off of what they're doing this holiday season, which is not much.
[00:05:35] Yeah, well, kicking everything to Hallmark Plus, apparently, is the name of the game.
[00:05:38] And it's all Jonathan Bennett.
[00:05:39] It's all Jonathan Bennett, and it's all behind a paywall.
[00:05:42] Yeah.
[00:05:42] The Cruise, Christmas Con, and the Hallmark Plus channel.
[00:05:46] And the Christmas Experience?
[00:05:48] Yeah, whatever.
[00:05:49] Jingles run.
[00:05:50] There was something in...
[00:05:51] Oh, there was that, too.
[00:05:52] The Jingle Stop Tour.
[00:05:53] Yeah.
[00:05:53] Yeah, Jingle Stop Tour.
[00:05:54] No, Jonathan Bennett is representing the company.
[00:05:57] Yes, he is.
[00:05:57] He's happy to be there, front and center, doing his thing.
[00:06:00] Only behind the paywall.
[00:06:00] He's a good MC, too.
[00:06:02] Great MC.
[00:06:02] He's very good at it.
[00:06:02] He hosts like nobody's business.
[00:06:04] Yeah.
[00:06:04] A great MC.
[00:06:04] But yeah, his actual content, yeah, we'll see you on streaming.
[00:06:07] See you on streaming.
[00:06:08] Let's talk about the first of The Groomsmen.
[00:06:12] First Look, which I was confused.
[00:06:15] Yeah.
[00:06:15] I thought it was a special.
[00:06:16] I did.
[00:06:17] I thought it was a teaser.
[00:06:18] And then I was like, oh, this is the movie.
[00:06:20] First Look.
[00:06:21] It's a First Look previewed.
[00:06:23] Kick back.
[00:06:24] Kick off.
[00:06:25] Look back.
[00:06:26] For the film.
[00:06:27] That's right.
[00:06:28] Directed by Ron Oliver?
[00:06:29] And how?
[00:06:30] Directed by Ron Oliver.
[00:06:33] And how?
[00:06:34] Got it.
[00:06:35] I was like, and how?
[00:06:39] Is that a director I should know?
[00:06:40] And how is the producer?
[00:06:42] She's acclaimed in her field.
[00:06:44] And how?
[00:06:44] Directed by Ron Oliver and his new directing partner.
[00:06:49] How?
[00:06:50] That's right.
[00:06:50] Yeah.
[00:06:52] Originally premiered on October 17th, 2024.
[00:06:54] It went a little something like this.
[00:06:56] So this woman walks into this bar, I guess.
[00:07:01] Pub.
[00:07:01] And she's hiding.
[00:07:04] And the woman at the store is like, who are you hiding from?
[00:07:06] And she peeks out and she says, them.
[00:07:09] The groomsmen.
[00:07:10] They said it.
[00:07:11] The name.
[00:07:12] The store owner is, I'm sorry, the pub owner is like, what's the story here?
[00:07:16] What are you doing?
[00:07:17] She's literally a runaway brother.
[00:07:19] She is.
[00:07:20] Yes.
[00:07:20] Yes.
[00:07:21] And she says, it all started with a wedding.
[00:07:23] Cut back to a wedding.
[00:07:25] We see a guy in a suit.
[00:07:27] He's talking on the phone.
[00:07:28] His name is Dr. Byer.
[00:07:30] Pete Byer.
[00:07:32] And he bumps into a girl.
[00:07:33] Not the girl from the beginning, though.
[00:07:34] It's a different girl.
[00:07:35] And that's from me for a loop there for a second.
[00:07:38] It's Hannah's maid of honor.
[00:07:39] We know Hannah.
[00:07:40] Yeah, Hannah.
[00:07:42] Hannah's maid of honor.
[00:07:43] Hannah Montana.
[00:07:46] They bond over thinking that clip ties are cheating, which, get over yourself.
[00:07:53] Clip ties are awesome and amazing.
[00:07:56] Can I be both on this?
[00:07:58] Yeah.
[00:07:58] I think for some occasions you want to go the whole way, especially even in a tux.
[00:08:03] Bow ties are a real bead of time.
[00:08:06] But you know what?
[00:08:07] You make the effort.
[00:08:08] Bow ties are a bead to tie.
[00:08:10] That is exactly right.
[00:08:11] And so she's nervous about giving a speech.
[00:08:15] And Dr. Byer, Pete over there, is good friends with Danny, who's the best man.
[00:08:19] Turns out she's a doctor, too.
[00:08:22] Dr. Chelsea over there.
[00:08:23] Dr. Chelsea.
[00:08:24] You like to be a doctor, too.
[00:08:25] Yes.
[00:08:26] There's one other groomsman.
[00:08:28] His name is Jackson.
[00:08:29] Jackson, Danny, and Pete.
[00:08:30] They have been best friends in summer camp.
[00:08:33] And they love hanging out.
[00:08:35] And they love choreographed dances.
[00:08:38] You need to know that.
[00:08:39] Yeah.
[00:08:39] They love a choreographed dance.
[00:08:41] That was what they bonded on.
[00:08:41] And I think the good news is, I know we've got two more of these.
[00:08:43] I don't think we'll ever see this dance again.
[00:08:44] We're not going to see these.
[00:08:45] Oh, heavens no.
[00:08:45] There's no way they bring them.
[00:08:46] They would never.
[00:08:47] They wouldn't.
[00:08:48] Pete finds Chelsea.
[00:08:54] And they end up dancing together.
[00:08:56] They end up talking.
[00:08:58] But turns out she lives halfway around the world.
[00:09:01] They hang out basically the whole evening.
[00:09:04] But she drops the bomb that she leaves in the morning.
[00:09:09] She is like, we should stay in touch.
[00:09:12] And he's like, we're not actually going to stay in touch, are we?
[00:09:16] He kisses her hand.
[00:09:17] They go their own ways.
[00:09:19] But the next day, Pete's hanging out with the boys.
[00:09:22] And Danny is like, what about long-distance relationship?
[00:09:25] Jackson's like, actually, you might be perfect for long-distance relationship.
[00:09:29] You're like so organized.
[00:09:30] You're stuck in your ways.
[00:09:32] It might be good for you.
[00:09:34] And Pete is like, well, what do I do?
[00:09:35] I said, no, I didn't get her number or anything.
[00:09:37] They're like, you've got to stop her before she goes to the airport.
[00:09:42] And tell her that she's all you ever wanted, all you ever needed.
[00:09:46] Yeah.
[00:09:54] Yeah.
[00:09:55] She wasn't in a cab at all.
[00:09:56] She was still at the hotel.
[00:09:58] And she's just right there.
[00:10:00] So he comes back, drinks some water, shoots his shot horribly, I might add.
[00:10:04] But she's like, I feel the same way that you do.
[00:10:06] But I don't know what we're going to do about living so far away.
[00:10:10] And he's like, I don't either.
[00:10:11] But I want to try.
[00:10:12] So they exchange numbers.
[00:10:14] They take a picture together.
[00:10:16] And that's all you need.
[00:10:25] And she's like, it could be anything.
[00:10:28] So then one thing leads to another.
[00:10:31] They start talking on the phone.
[00:10:33] And then one day everything changes because video call.
[00:10:39] Jackson takes this very seriously.
[00:10:41] He sends his client, Celeste, to do makeup before the call.
[00:10:45] He goes to do the call.
[00:10:47] There's no answer.
[00:10:47] Then he gets a text from her that says, sorry, this isn't working.
[00:10:51] And then he's like, she blocked me.
[00:10:53] Highlight of the movie.
[00:10:54] Blocked me.
[00:10:56] Jackson and Danny are like, well, maybe she's going through some stuff or something.
[00:10:59] And he's like, I knew it was too good to be true.
[00:11:02] But one night, I guess it was that night, he's woken up by a call.
[00:11:06] It's her.
[00:11:07] And she's like, hey, sorry about last night.
[00:11:09] The storm came through.
[00:11:10] Knocked out my internet.
[00:11:11] Just got it back.
[00:11:12] And when that happens, it blocks you.
[00:11:14] It makes it seem that you can't get through.
[00:11:16] When the storm comes through, it blocks anybody you're romantically involved with.
[00:11:19] I think what happened was he sent a text and it didn't go through.
[00:11:24] So he assumed.
[00:11:26] But instead of assuming, he just said she blocked me.
[00:11:28] Yeah, that's true.
[00:11:31] So all is back as it should be.
[00:11:32] Now they just want to see each other in person, which is easier said than done.
[00:11:35] They're both so busy.
[00:11:37] But one day, he's at Danny's nephew's birthday and she just shows up.
[00:11:42] So I guess not that busy.
[00:11:43] And she's like, I'm here one night.
[00:11:45] Let's go on a proper date.
[00:11:47] And Danny is like, we're going shopping.
[00:11:49] They go out on their dates and they realize that it's harder than they anticipated.
[00:11:55] You know, not just because there's a guitar player right in their faces,
[00:11:58] but because they're so used to just talking online all the time.
[00:12:01] So they leave and go somewhere that matters to him where they can be a little bit more relaxed.
[00:12:05] Billy cheesesteak.
[00:12:07] They go for a walk and she tells him the truth.
[00:12:09] I came here to break up with you.
[00:12:10] But after tonight, I think we got to keep trying.
[00:12:14] This is something special.
[00:12:15] And he's like, I know what you mean.
[00:12:17] And I know what we should do next.
[00:12:19] Not that perverts.
[00:12:21] They just kiss.
[00:12:22] They kiss.
[00:12:23] Hallmark's not death.
[00:12:24] Not Hallmark after dark.
[00:12:27] His boys tell him that whatever they do, don't say I love you first.
[00:12:31] Whatever you do, you can't say that.
[00:12:33] And she gets in the cab and he chases after the cab again.
[00:12:38] And finally, they catch up and he says it.
[00:12:41] She says it back.
[00:12:42] The crowd literally cheers.
[00:12:44] He decides that he wants to propose.
[00:12:46] And the boys are like, don't you think you should spend more time in person together?
[00:12:50] And he's like, whatever.
[00:12:52] I don't know.
[00:12:53] I think it's great.
[00:12:54] Even crazier, he's going to surprise her.
[00:12:56] Surprise her by showing up in person and dropping the question.
[00:12:59] He lands but accidentally drops his ring box onto the luggage carousel.
[00:13:04] He climbs on, climbs back through the place that you don't climb through.
[00:13:09] He gets detained by TSA.
[00:13:12] Luckily, TSA knows Chelsea.
[00:13:14] And if you know Chelsea, you let somebody off to her.
[00:13:17] No problem.
[00:13:18] As they're walking out, they hand him the ring box.
[00:13:22] And he's like, well, here's this.
[00:13:24] So he just proposes right there in the airport.
[00:13:27] And she says yes.
[00:13:28] They go to meet her parents.
[00:13:30] And everybody literally cheers again.
[00:13:31] Yes, it's another cheer situation.
[00:13:33] And so they go to meet her parents.
[00:13:37] And her parents are very, you know, intense, specific.
[00:13:42] And the mom gets upset.
[00:13:44] Poitie-toity, I think we should say.
[00:13:45] Yes, poitie-toity.
[00:13:46] Poitie gets upset that they want to get married on the beach.
[00:13:50] And so they end up compromising by getting married at a five-star resort by the beach.
[00:13:54] So I guess that's a compromise.
[00:13:57] His mom shows up and is like, all of this is wrong.
[00:14:01] The earth is telling me it's wrong.
[00:14:03] And she says that she's going to be the officiant at the wedding.
[00:14:07] And they're like, what?
[00:14:08] The groomsmen get there.
[00:14:09] And they're like, we are going to go to camping.
[00:14:15] Because that's where we met.
[00:14:16] Summer camp.
[00:14:17] We should go camping.
[00:14:18] Camping.
[00:14:21] Camping Minnesota.
[00:14:22] Yes.
[00:14:23] This is all too much for Chelsea.
[00:14:25] There's a lot going on here.
[00:14:27] There's no camp anywhere.
[00:14:28] She storms off.
[00:14:29] And she's like, just go camping with the boys.
[00:14:32] Let's take some time apart.
[00:14:33] And camping's a disaster.
[00:14:36] The massive storms come.
[00:14:38] They're lost.
[00:14:40] And because of the storm, all of the cell service is gone.
[00:14:44] People are blocked.
[00:14:45] People are blocked.
[00:14:47] But only romantic.
[00:14:48] Planes are grounded.
[00:14:49] Go to your room, mister.
[00:14:50] He's definitely blocked.
[00:14:51] Yeah.
[00:14:52] Pete gets into a big argument with the groomsmen.
[00:14:56] And he just leaves.
[00:14:57] They go after him.
[00:14:58] They make up.
[00:14:58] It's nice.
[00:14:59] The next day things are better.
[00:15:01] And they get back.
[00:15:03] And Chelsea tells that they can't wait to share the rest of the life with each other.
[00:15:08] And blah, blah, blah.
[00:15:09] While they're out at the beach, they just end up getting married at the beach.
[00:15:12] That's how they wanted to get married in the first place.
[00:15:14] They kiss.
[00:15:15] They're married.
[00:15:16] So you might be wondering, what about the beginning of the movie?
[00:15:19] What about that girl?
[00:15:21] Well, she says that Pete and Chelsea are only the beginning.
[00:15:26] There was another wedding.
[00:15:28] Oh, my gosh.
[00:15:29] And that, my friends, was the groomsmen.
[00:15:33] First look.
[00:15:34] We did it.
[00:15:36] We did do it.
[00:15:37] Yeah.
[00:15:38] That was a big old honking synopsis.
[00:15:40] I know.
[00:15:41] You know what I've noticed?
[00:15:42] I take better synopses when you're not around.
[00:15:45] But here's the thing about that.
[00:15:46] I think we're really focused then.
[00:15:47] I would disagree.
[00:15:48] You take more accurate synopses.
[00:15:50] They're not better, though.
[00:15:51] And who wants that?
[00:15:52] Really?
[00:15:53] They're longer.
[00:15:54] They're more accurate.
[00:15:54] It's just not what we're about.
[00:15:56] No, it's not what we're about at all.
[00:15:58] Let's take a quick break.
[00:15:59] We'll come back and we will get to the whatever it is.
[00:16:03] Hot take.
[00:16:03] Here on.
[00:16:04] Deck the Hallmark.
[00:16:14] We're back.
[00:16:15] Hello, everybody.
[00:16:16] In first look, first movie, let's break it down the only way that we know how.
[00:16:22] We don't know any other way.
[00:16:23] No, four segments.
[00:16:24] That's all we got.
[00:16:24] Four segments.
[00:16:25] Maybe a razzle-dazzle.
[00:16:26] We're going to start with a hot take, though.
[00:16:28] We're going to share exactly how we felt about this movie.
[00:16:30] We're not going to hold back.
[00:16:30] And I will start with you, Alonzo.
[00:16:32] Alonzo, not a lot of non-Christmas movies in your Deck the Hallmark repertoire.
[00:16:38] True.
[00:16:39] I don't know if there is another one.
[00:16:41] There's a few.
[00:16:41] Maybe a couple.
[00:16:42] A couple.
[00:16:43] One that you weren't at, sir.
[00:16:44] That's right.
[00:16:44] That's right.
[00:16:45] That's true.
[00:16:46] So maybe not your expertise.
[00:16:48] Not really.
[00:16:48] That woman told everybody about her cancer aside from her daughter.
[00:16:51] That was the one he wasn't at.
[00:16:52] It's the only time I remember that movie.
[00:16:54] But you are.
[00:16:56] The milkman knew.
[00:16:57] That's right.
[00:16:57] Everybody knew.
[00:16:58] A classic.
[00:16:59] Yeah, yeah, yeah.
[00:16:59] But you are a film critic.
[00:17:01] It's true.
[00:17:03] Christmas or not.
[00:17:04] A journalist.
[00:17:04] I think that you are qualified for this.
[00:17:07] What did you think about The Groomsmen, first look?
[00:17:09] I had fun.
[00:17:11] I have to say, I watched this on the plane, which might be the ideal place to watch a
[00:17:15] Hallmark movie.
[00:17:16] That might be the perfect place for this.
[00:17:18] You know, I sat out Wedding Veil and Love Club.
[00:17:23] That was my question.
[00:17:23] So this is sort of my first kind of interlocking trilogy.
[00:17:27] I came in and out of Dune Bay, but didn't really commit.
[00:17:33] So, you know, my interest has peaked now where this story is going, obviously.
[00:17:38] But I think this is fun.
[00:17:40] This to me feels like Ron Oliver in his wheelhouse.
[00:17:45] There's comedic bits and physical comedy things.
[00:17:49] There's a hotel.
[00:17:51] You know, there's a lot of the stuff that he really excels at.
[00:17:55] But he has made a hotel movie.
[00:17:58] He loves a hotel.
[00:17:59] He loves a hotel.
[00:17:59] He's made several.
[00:18:00] Yes.
[00:18:01] The Plaza one.
[00:18:02] The one that we didn't love with the giant sandwich.
[00:18:04] The Prime movie.
[00:18:05] Yes.
[00:18:05] He loves a hotel.
[00:18:06] Big sandwich.
[00:18:07] He loves a hotel.
[00:18:07] There might even be another one with a hotel.
[00:18:10] I don't know.
[00:18:10] We're only one movie into a trilogy, so who knows?
[00:18:13] But no, it has that kind of sprightly editing.
[00:18:15] I think he is a fan of your sort of old school rom-com.
[00:18:20] So, yeah, I had a good time.
[00:18:23] It is, I don't have a lot to compare it to, again, in the non-Christmas realm.
[00:18:27] But I think it's brisk.
[00:18:29] I think the performances were fun.
[00:18:31] The three guys, I think, have a convincing, we've been friends for years chemistry.
[00:18:36] So, I'm curious to see where this goes.
[00:18:39] So, let's start with the groomsmen themselves.
[00:18:42] Do I like them?
[00:18:44] Yes, I do.
[00:18:45] I mean, Jonathan Bennett, Tyler Hunt's BJ Britt.
[00:18:47] A wonderful combination of fellas.
[00:18:48] Yes.
[00:18:49] And I wish that there was more time of them, even though I do feel like they got a decent amount.
[00:18:55] They got more than the three ladies and lady mill.
[00:18:57] I like them together a lot.
[00:19:00] Do I care about the story that was told in this episode or this movie?
[00:19:06] I don't know.
[00:19:07] It couldn't be more cut and dry.
[00:19:09] True.
[00:19:09] Here's a love story.
[00:19:12] And that's it.
[00:19:13] Long distance is the one thing.
[00:19:14] Long distance.
[00:19:15] Here it is.
[00:19:16] Obstacle.
[00:19:17] They get married.
[00:19:18] Bada bing, bada boom.
[00:19:19] You're right.
[00:19:19] And so, that was kind of like, okay, I guess that's something.
[00:19:24] I didn't really buy this couple, really.
[00:19:28] It didn't really, they didn't really work for me.
[00:19:32] Even though I liked them both individually, like together, I didn't think they loved each other at all.
[00:19:39] They weren't screaming love to me.
[00:19:42] I thought she was going to break up with him multiple times.
[00:19:45] Yeah.
[00:19:45] And then it's like, I don't want to break up.
[00:19:47] I want to continue.
[00:19:48] I wasn't blocking you.
[00:19:49] They definitely set up some moments where you think, oh, they're going to have the talk.
[00:19:53] And then they don't.
[00:19:53] She just seemed uncomfortable to me for a good bit.
[00:19:57] When they were together, it wasn't like the comfort that you get.
[00:20:01] I think you're being kind.
[00:20:02] Listen, I never mind.
[00:20:04] BJ Britt should get more work.
[00:20:06] He's great.
[00:20:06] I never mind seeing.
[00:20:07] Has he been in these before?
[00:20:08] He's been in a Christmas movie last year.
[00:20:11] The magic.
[00:20:13] Oh, the angel one?
[00:20:14] Yeah.
[00:20:14] Okay, that was two years ago?
[00:20:16] Two years ago.
[00:20:16] Yes.
[00:20:16] Okay.
[00:20:17] He's so, like, just fun.
[00:20:20] He's just fun.
[00:20:21] He's just very.
[00:20:23] He's game.
[00:20:24] Yes.
[00:20:24] He's up for whatever.
[00:20:25] I never mind seeing Heather Hemans.
[00:20:27] Oh, she's great.
[00:20:28] Like, the two of them together, I felt like they didn't even want to be in the same room
[00:20:31] with each other.
[00:20:32] Huh.
[00:20:33] To me, I did not see that.
[00:20:34] I didn't see it.
[00:20:35] Like, I didn't see them getting married after spending three hours together.
[00:20:38] Like, that was crazy talk.
[00:20:39] I mean, they didn't melt the screen for me, but I bought them as a couple.
[00:20:44] The best scene of their chemistry was the first one.
[00:20:46] That's what I was.
[00:20:47] I was just about to say that.
[00:20:48] When they're slow dancing together, that works.
[00:20:50] Out in the hallway over here and she ties his bow tie.
[00:20:52] That's the best scene for me.
[00:20:53] Yeah, I thought when they ate the pretzel scene was pretty good.
[00:20:57] And I don't know.
[00:20:58] I mean, we'll get to the sandwiches.
[00:21:00] Yo, we're going to get to the sandwiches.
[00:21:01] Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
[00:21:02] So all that to say, like, as far as.
[00:21:06] Ron Oliver's just messing with sandwiches.
[00:21:09] He's like, I want to put another fake sandwich in there.
[00:21:11] Hold it.
[00:21:11] No, sorry.
[00:21:12] Two things I know about Ron Oliver.
[00:21:14] Loves hotels, loves sandwiches.
[00:21:15] That's true.
[00:21:16] There are motifs to be found here.
[00:21:18] Yeah, so just overall, I'm definitely intrigued by the groomsmen themselves.
[00:21:23] And I think that it is enough to carry this trilogy along, just the three of them together.
[00:21:29] I just, I don't know what I'm looking for.
[00:21:31] Like, I feel like typical Hallmark rom-coms, the relationship story is just more like higher peaks, lower valleys almost.
[00:21:42] And this was just, like, to me, aside from it being long distance, which-
[00:21:46] There was no Hall is lost moment.
[00:21:47] It was pretty much just like, here's just a story that is not unique at all, really.
[00:21:54] I mean, I'm guessing it's because they had to make time for the groomsmen to have their stuff.
[00:21:58] How does the Weddingvale movie balance the-
[00:22:00] The Weddingvale just does one scene in the early ones, and then they have, like, video calls.
[00:22:06] I see.
[00:22:06] There is way more time with Hines, Bennett, and Britt together in this movie than in any of at least the first two Weddingvails.
[00:22:14] I think in the third one, they're all together a little bit more.
[00:22:16] Yeah.
[00:22:17] So maybe they did it that way.
[00:22:18] Yeah, I don't know.
[00:22:19] But all to say, not bad.
[00:22:21] So I, this movie has so much going for it.
[00:22:24] We love Ron Oliver.
[00:22:26] Love him.
[00:22:27] Love Tyler Hines.
[00:22:28] Love Jonathan Bennett.
[00:22:29] Love B.J. Britt.
[00:22:30] Love Heather Hemmonds.
[00:22:31] This, in my opinion, I was flummoxed.
[00:22:34] This is the worst timeline of this movie existing to me.
[00:22:38] I thought it was terrible.
[00:22:39] I, like-
[00:22:40] You thought it was terrible?
[00:22:41] I thought it was terrible.
[00:22:43] Watch it again on a plane.
[00:22:44] Yeah.
[00:22:44] I'm going to have to get on a plane and watch it again.
[00:22:46] And this thing had my full attention.
[00:22:47] Maybe that was my problem, was when I'm with you, it doesn't get my full attention, and I'm a little easier on the movie.
[00:22:53] I had nothing to do, nowhere to go all day to get there, and I'm watching this movie because I'm waiting on Ryan Popol at the airport.
[00:22:59] It's just me in my car watching this movie.
[00:23:01] And I had a hard time.
[00:23:03] I thought the scripting was really bad.
[00:23:06] I thought the two leads didn't have any chemistry.
[00:23:08] For a movie that has as many plot points as you read in that synopsis, so many, to meet, define the relationship, talk about long distance, chase after a cab twice, go visit each other on both continents.
[00:23:21] Try and close montage.
[00:23:22] Yeah.
[00:23:23] One side of, meet the parents, meet the other parents.
[00:23:26] Camping.
[00:23:27] There's just no there there.
[00:23:29] It's just like something that goes from one scene.
[00:23:33] It's like vignettes from a Hallmark movie, and they're all just there, and they're all kind of connected by these three guys who I also did not like.
[00:23:42] I did not think Tyler Hines was doing anything of substance here for maybe the first time I've ever seen him.
[00:23:48] I didn't think Jonathan Bennett was viable as the sports guy who also loves fashion at all.
[00:23:54] Didn't see it.
[00:23:55] I didn't think BJ Britt had anything to add.
[00:23:58] I got to be honest.
[00:23:59] Everything about this didn't work for me.
[00:24:02] I watched the movie, and I kept telling myself, by the end of this movie, you're not going to feel this way.
[00:24:06] But by the end of the movie, I preferred The Wedding Veil.
[00:24:10] Oh, wow.
[00:24:12] You're so full of it.
[00:24:13] I preferred The Wedding Veil.
[00:24:14] You are so full of it.
[00:24:15] It's hot takes in, not scorching.
[00:24:17] Come on.
[00:24:17] I preferred The Wedding Veil.
[00:24:19] Listen.
[00:24:20] Listen.
[00:24:21] I don't even.
[00:24:22] You don't even believe that.
[00:24:23] Dude, why would I say it?
[00:24:24] Why would I say it?
[00:24:25] Because you're doing a thing.
[00:24:27] What in the world do I have to gain by this?
[00:24:31] No, like fun?
[00:24:32] I 100%.
[00:24:34] It's fun.
[00:24:34] It's fun for you.
[00:24:35] I'm here to be honest.
[00:24:36] I'm not here for fun.
[00:24:37] I wouldn't watch these movies if I was here for fun.
[00:24:40] I'm here to be honest.
[00:24:41] I believe you.
[00:24:42] I'm just shocked.
[00:24:43] I don't believe it.
[00:24:44] Why would I lie?
[00:24:45] Have I ever lied to you ever?
[00:24:47] Brandon.
[00:24:48] You know that one.
[00:24:49] Well, I mean, Schimble.
[00:24:53] We don't have to get into it.
[00:24:54] Here's the thing.
[00:24:55] In the Wedding Veil movie, which is robbed.
[00:24:58] Schimble Shanks was robbed.
[00:24:59] That's not a lie.
[00:25:00] He should have gotten in that balloon.
[00:25:02] No question about it.
[00:25:03] 100%.
[00:25:03] Best cat.
[00:25:04] The Wedding Veil, which I hate.
[00:25:05] Hold on.
[00:25:06] I thought he was a dog.
[00:25:07] No, Schimble Shanks.
[00:25:08] A cat is not a dog.
[00:25:09] Come on.
[00:25:10] Can you be clear on that?
[00:25:11] Come on, man.
[00:25:11] I thought we'd gone over it.
[00:25:12] That's my bad.
[00:25:14] Listen to Dame Judy Dench.
[00:25:15] That's my bad.
[00:25:16] My thing with The Wedding Veil is it's a terrible movie.
[00:25:19] I think that the three ladies in that movie have better chemistry than these three dudes.
[00:25:23] One.
[00:25:24] Two.
[00:25:25] No.
[00:25:25] No.
[00:25:26] Just no.
[00:25:26] Yes.
[00:25:27] These guys had chemistry.
[00:25:29] No, I disagree.
[00:25:29] They were great together.
[00:25:30] They weren't.
[00:25:30] It was like they were all.
[00:25:31] They were great together.
[00:25:32] I thought they were great together.
[00:25:33] I'm going to say this.
[00:25:33] I disagree.
[00:25:34] I think that Tyler Hines is intentionally underplaying because he is paired with Bennett,
[00:25:41] who is always at 11.
[00:25:43] He's always at 11.
[00:25:44] True.
[00:25:45] True.
[00:25:45] And I thought that that interaction was really fun because they're sort of maybe going a
[00:25:53] little overboard on what they normally do in these movies.
[00:25:55] Because Tyler Hines is generally like Mr. Laidback, cool guy.
[00:25:58] And Jonathan Bennett's always like on in the big eyes.
[00:26:00] And so I thought together that.
[00:26:03] Except for his movie with Peña Vega.
[00:26:04] I think that's the one.
[00:26:05] He's a little more chill in that movie.
[00:26:07] A little more chill.
[00:26:07] He's still eyebrows like crazy in that.
[00:26:08] Sure.
[00:26:09] But I thought together that they kind of like.
[00:26:11] Christopher made the order.
[00:26:12] They found a middle ground together that I had fun with.
[00:26:15] But maybe you thought that Hines just wasn't doing anything.
[00:26:18] I can't believe.
[00:26:18] I thought all three of these guys have given, like are better in almost everything I've
[00:26:24] ever seen them in.
[00:26:25] And I say that knowing two of these two.
[00:26:28] I've never met Mr. Britt.
[00:26:29] I'm sure he's wonderful.
[00:26:31] Knowing Jonathan.
[00:26:32] Knowing Tyler.
[00:26:33] And knowing.
[00:26:33] I'm not saying that they're not good actors.
[00:26:36] What I'm saying is none of this worked for me.
[00:26:38] It was a tough slog.
[00:26:40] It was.
[00:26:41] I think you were in a bad space.
[00:26:43] I think you were in a bad space.
[00:26:44] I wasn't.
[00:26:45] You were in a bad space.
[00:26:46] The attempts to humor.
[00:26:47] I was like.
[00:26:48] Like I literally just.
[00:26:49] A couple times in the movie I went.
[00:26:51] Oof.
[00:26:51] Hey did you watch this after the baseball game?
[00:26:54] I watched it.
[00:26:57] The first half of it before.
[00:26:59] And the second half of it after.
[00:27:01] So the first 45 minutes I watched before the baseball game.
[00:27:03] That's interesting.
[00:27:04] Second half after the baseball game.
[00:27:05] That's interesting.
[00:27:05] Which that wouldn't have anything to do with it.
[00:27:07] When the Yankees got shellacked.
[00:27:08] Well they didn't shellacked.
[00:27:09] They got beat very closely.
[00:27:11] It was.
[00:27:11] It was.
[00:27:12] You know.
[00:27:13] Oh.
[00:27:13] Guys.
[00:27:14] Okay.
[00:27:14] Listen.
[00:27:15] Okay.
[00:27:15] I don't understand how we're in episode 1300.
[00:27:19] In a Hallmark Plus movie called The Groomsman.
[00:27:22] And all of a sudden.
[00:27:23] You can't buy that I'm.
[00:27:25] You think he's making it up.
[00:27:26] I can't.
[00:27:26] I can't buy.
[00:27:27] I believe you with your opinion.
[00:27:30] Until you say.
[00:27:32] That this is worse than The Wedding Veil.
[00:27:34] I didn't say it was worse than The Wedding Veil.
[00:27:35] You said give me.
[00:27:36] I liked The Wedding Veil.
[00:27:38] More than this movie.
[00:27:40] I just don't.
[00:27:40] I don't think it's humanly possible.
[00:27:42] It is.
[00:27:42] I don't think it is humanly possible.
[00:27:44] It is.
[00:27:45] I like.
[00:27:45] And here's the thing is.
[00:27:46] The only thing.
[00:27:47] We're going to wear up The Wedding Veil.
[00:27:48] Let's see.
[00:27:49] The only thing I will say.
[00:27:50] Put it on.
[00:27:50] The only thing I will say to your point is.
[00:27:52] I do have the foreknowledge of having seen all the Wedding Veil movies.
[00:27:56] So.
[00:27:56] In my head.
[00:27:58] What's playing is.
[00:27:59] Is the Autumn Reeser movie in Italy.
[00:28:01] Which is miles better than this movie.
[00:28:03] Is just the Lacey.
[00:28:06] Kevin McGarry movie.
[00:28:08] Miles better than this movie.
[00:28:09] Probably not.
[00:28:10] But they're close.
[00:28:11] So you're rating a trilogy versus a movie that you see.
[00:28:14] Well it's hard.
[00:28:15] They all kind of conflate together.
[00:28:16] Okay.
[00:28:16] Got it.
[00:28:17] So I will give you that.
[00:28:18] That like.
[00:28:18] In my head.
[00:28:19] Okay.
[00:28:20] You know.
[00:28:21] Great.
[00:28:21] Thank you for that.
[00:28:22] That's nice.
[00:28:22] That's helpful.
[00:28:23] That's helpful.
[00:28:24] I didn't know that you were doing that ridiculous comparison.
[00:28:26] So now that I know that you're doing that.
[00:28:28] I'm just saying.
[00:28:28] In my head.
[00:28:29] It's hard.
[00:28:29] Those movies all run together.
[00:28:31] Sure.
[00:28:31] So like.
[00:28:32] So now I know that.
[00:28:33] We'll come back at the end of these.
[00:28:34] My opinion of The Wedding Veil is higher.
[00:28:37] Higher than my opinion of The Groomsman as it currently stays.
[00:28:40] I just.
[00:28:44] You were at an all time low.
[00:28:46] But at the time we watched that movie which was January.
[00:28:49] That's a tough time.
[00:28:51] It's a tough time.
[00:28:51] Yes.
[00:28:52] I mean this movie.
[00:28:52] We just saw Haunted Wedding.
[00:28:54] Which is probably the best.
[00:28:56] If not the best movie of the year.
[00:28:56] One of the top three movies of the year.
[00:28:58] We got Christmas movies to watch.
[00:28:59] This movie.
[00:29:00] Which has star wattage for days.
[00:29:03] I could.
[00:29:04] Every.
[00:29:06] Showing up you should be a four of ten in this movie.
[00:29:08] And I thought it was the worst possible Ron Oliver movie.
[00:29:11] The worst possible Tyler Hines movie.
[00:29:13] The worst possible Heather Hemans movie.
[00:29:15] I just.
[00:29:16] None of it.
[00:29:17] There was.
[00:29:18] It was literally.
[00:29:19] Next scene.
[00:29:20] There's a problem.
[00:29:21] Just kidding.
[00:29:22] It's resolved.
[00:29:22] These three went to camp together.
[00:29:23] I don't buy it.
[00:29:24] I don't buy.
[00:29:25] They've definitely never seen a Philadelphia before.
[00:29:28] Like I want to be very clear.
[00:29:29] Like the idea that these three are from Philly.
[00:29:32] Get out of here.
[00:29:33] Philadelphia as a city.
[00:29:34] Did you see Jonathan Bennett's Philly shirt?
[00:29:37] Hit two Philly's polos.
[00:29:39] I think that settles it.
[00:29:40] That's Philly.
[00:29:41] And you eat lettuce and tomato on a Philly cheesesteak.
[00:29:43] As you always do.
[00:29:44] All right.
[00:29:45] Save it for the way it was.
[00:29:46] Let's get to all the feels.
[00:29:47] None of it worked for me.
[00:29:48] None of it.
[00:29:48] It was the worst timeline of this movie.
[00:29:51] We'll revisit that after three.
[00:29:53] Let's get to all the feels.
[00:29:55] We're talking about what this movie gave us feels.
[00:29:56] Alonzo.
[00:29:57] Well, as mentioned, I think the – I liked the – I liked the three of them together.
[00:30:02] But I think specifically that Bennett and Hines were going so hard on their sort of individual brand.
[00:30:08] And knocking those two things together I thought was a smart move here.
[00:30:13] And the B.J. Britt sort of balances the two of them.
[00:30:16] So that gave me feels.
[00:30:19] Look, this is a movie where two guys beat their best friend with sticks.
[00:30:24] And I'm here for it in a Hallmark movie.
[00:30:26] That is the kind of like big physical comedy move I think that they would never have earlier.
[00:30:32] Yeah, that's fair.
[00:30:33] This is a moment, you know, besides what we're about to get with like Jonathan Bennett's romantic storyline.
[00:30:40] That for me was like, yep, we are post-Bill Abbott.
[00:30:43] You would never see that.
[00:30:44] And that made me laugh quite a bit.
[00:30:46] There were a couple things in this movie that sort of made me chortle out loud, which doesn't usually happen.
[00:30:52] Not me.
[00:30:52] And yeah, I don't know.
[00:30:53] I just generally was like, I'm not going to like die on the hill of this movie.
[00:30:57] But I was entertained.
[00:30:59] There you go.
[00:31:00] When I found out that Tyler Hines was going to be in another buddy movie with a dance sequence,
[00:31:07] I said, is this not the thing?
[00:31:09] Is this not the thing?
[00:31:09] We put Tyler Hines.
[00:31:10] Consider how it appears that he has no desire to dance.
[00:31:14] At all.
[00:31:15] I was like, I don't want.
[00:31:17] Tyler appears for all the money in the world, he has no desire to dance.
[00:31:20] Well, don't make him dance.
[00:31:21] In either of those movies.
[00:31:22] Don't make me dance.
[00:31:23] Don't make me dance.
[00:31:24] I was like, okay, this is now just what we're going to do.
[00:31:29] But you put Shake Your Groove thing behind any dance number.
[00:31:34] Peaches and Herb.
[00:31:35] And I immediately am all in.
[00:31:38] They couldn't have picked.
[00:31:39] And how?
[00:31:39] How.
[00:31:41] Dude, did you see How on that dance floor?
[00:31:43] Amazing.
[00:31:44] You put that song behind anything and it's working for me.
[00:31:48] It was a jam.
[00:31:49] And I think the perfect jam for an okay dance number.
[00:31:52] It was a terrible dance.
[00:31:54] Too much editing in that dance number.
[00:31:55] So much.
[00:31:56] Which means they didn't have enough rehearsal.
[00:31:57] It was got to kick it up a number of edits during a dance sequence.
[00:32:00] Dude, that dance sequence was a tough watch.
[00:32:04] Cise Puede.
[00:32:04] It was the Cise Puede.
[00:32:05] It was easily the only scene that really worked for me in this movie was when Heather Hemmins
[00:32:11] and BJ Britt meet each other.
[00:32:13] I thought that scene really worked well.
[00:32:14] I was like, oh man, these two.
[00:32:16] It's going to be great.
[00:32:16] That's the only scene that really worked.
[00:32:18] Is that your feels?
[00:32:19] Yeah.
[00:32:20] Okay.
[00:32:20] Interesting.
[00:32:20] I'll take a quick break.
[00:32:22] We'll come back with a half an hour with you.
[00:32:23] That's true.
[00:32:23] Telling me I was lying about my hot take.
[00:32:27] Have I ever said that to you?
[00:32:29] That I'm lying?
[00:32:30] No, because I tell the truth.
[00:32:31] We'll be right back to Deck the Hallmark.
[00:32:32] You're just a fool.
[00:32:42] Hi, welcome back to Deck the Hallmark.
[00:32:44] We're talking groomsmen.
[00:32:45] Yeah, we are.
[00:32:46] The Uno.
[00:32:47] The Uno.
[00:32:48] Uno.
[00:32:50] And it's time for the way what.
[00:32:51] It's where we talk about what in this movie made us go way what.
[00:32:53] And I will start with you, Alonzo.
[00:32:56] So I come from a family of a lot of doctors.
[00:32:59] I'm the disappointment in so many ways.
[00:33:01] But one of them is that I did not become an MD.
[00:33:04] My father, all three of my brothers, one of my sisters, various in-laws, at least one niece.
[00:33:09] It's tons of doctors.
[00:33:11] And doctors love to be called doctor.
[00:33:13] Yeah, they do.
[00:33:13] And in this movie, we have the concierge calling him mister.
[00:33:17] We have the TSA guy in Bulgaria calling her miz.
[00:33:21] I'm like, no, no, no.
[00:33:23] Doctor, doctor, doctor.
[00:33:24] And they would be corrected if they weren't doing it.
[00:33:27] And so that was a thing that bugged me.
[00:33:30] What is the time difference between Philadelphia and Bulgaria?
[00:33:34] The Hallmark doesn't know.
[00:33:35] Because this movie, the sun is shining on both of them.
[00:33:38] It's actually Bulgaria, Ohio.
[00:33:40] It's very close to Camping, Minnesota.
[00:33:42] Near Camping, Minnesota.
[00:33:43] Yeah.
[00:33:43] I'm like, could we try?
[00:33:45] Because it's got to be at least seven or eight hours.
[00:33:49] Like Philadelphia to-
[00:33:50] Seven.
[00:33:51] Seven hours from-
[00:33:52] Okay, Philadelphia to Paris is six.
[00:33:54] Yeah.
[00:33:54] All right.
[00:33:55] So yeah, it would be a funkier thing.
[00:33:59] That's right.
[00:33:59] I mean, that was like they didn't even try.
[00:34:02] Both of them are on the same time zone for all of that.
[00:34:06] In the opening wedding sequence,
[00:34:10] the step-nephew of Jonathan Bennett tries to pick up the daughter of Tyler Hines,
[00:34:17] and she blows him off.
[00:34:19] And Tyler Hines tells him 15's a tough age.
[00:34:22] We find out later in the movie that both of those kids are 13.
[00:34:27] It is specifically in the dialogue.
[00:34:30] They talk to him.
[00:34:30] I think this is it.
[00:34:31] She says, I'm 13.
[00:34:32] They go to his 14th birthday party.
[00:34:34] I'm like, this movie seems like it was cobbled together and not ever really a cohesive thing.
[00:34:40] I think that's my issue.
[00:34:41] In their defense, 15 is a tough age.
[00:34:43] It is a tough age.
[00:34:44] They're not there yet.
[00:34:44] That is empirically correct.
[00:34:47] 13?
[00:34:47] Also tough age.
[00:34:48] 13, however, is more specifically what we're talking about.
[00:34:51] Am I picking this?
[00:34:52] Yes, I am.
[00:34:52] But it made me laugh anyway.
[00:34:54] All right.
[00:34:54] They hold their sandwiches wrong.
[00:34:58] What monster did the food choreography in this movie?
[00:35:01] Nobody holds a hoagie like this?
[00:35:04] A hoagie or a cheesesteak from left side to right side.
[00:35:07] No.
[00:35:08] Yes.
[00:35:08] It's vertical, not horizontal.
[00:35:10] The Z axis, not the X axis.
[00:35:12] Come on, guys.
[00:35:13] That was making me crazy.
[00:35:14] I'm like, okay, I get it.
[00:35:15] Actors don't eat.
[00:35:16] But when you go to your local Philadelphia cheesesteak eatery in a restaurant, bar, grill, and hotel.
[00:35:22] Yes.
[00:35:23] And order your cheesesteak, best in town with lettuce and tomato.
[00:35:26] Yeah.
[00:35:26] Then you can hold it however you want to.
[00:35:28] Because they know Philadelphia, and that's Philadelphia.
[00:35:32] Yeah.
[00:35:32] Like, nobody in Vancouver knows how to make a proper Philly cheesesteak.
[00:35:36] And no one on the set told these actors how one holds a Philly cheesesteak.
[00:35:41] It wasn't nearly greasy enough.
[00:35:43] It looked like it was completely held together.
[00:35:45] Oh, yeah.
[00:35:46] Yeah.
[00:35:46] Like, that bread was dry.
[00:35:48] Yeah.
[00:35:48] Yeah.
[00:35:50] Is that it?
[00:35:50] Oh, no.
[00:35:51] Oh.
[00:35:52] What dingbats go camping with cell phones and think that that's going to be a reliable thing
[00:35:58] for, like, mapping or compasses or anything?
[00:36:00] No.
[00:36:01] Like, I don't know how they do it in camping Minnesota, but it does not work in Bulgaria.
[00:36:05] You're going to go out in the middle of the forest.
[00:36:07] You better have an actual compass and maybe a paper map, or else you're going to wind up
[00:36:12] in a cave like these guys.
[00:36:12] I'm fairly certain, though, that your phone would still work as a compass.
[00:36:16] If you had, like, a compass app or something, I think you would still...
[00:36:20] The compass itself, maybe.
[00:36:21] But, like, the GPS, like, he talked about, oh, I have a map in here.
[00:36:24] I'm like, well, that's good for you, Blair Witch.
[00:36:26] That's not going to do you anything.
[00:36:28] Yeah, exactly right.
[00:36:30] Okay.
[00:36:31] The storm happens, which means none of the guests can land at the airport.
[00:36:36] By the time the wedding happens, though, the weather is perfect.
[00:36:40] It's beautiful.
[00:36:40] And yet, we're not waiting for anybody.
[00:36:42] Nope, nope.
[00:36:42] Sorry, guests.
[00:36:43] You get maybe a reception later, if nothing.
[00:36:47] And then, just one last thing.
[00:36:48] At the very end, when they finally do get married, after all of the, like, oh, it's a five-star
[00:36:52] resort, oh, the fancy hoity-toity parents want everything to be just so, that canopy has
[00:36:58] a sign hanging in it that says Mr. and Mrs. that is tacky even by Hallmark store standards.
[00:37:04] If you walked into a gold crown store, you would not, maybe you would see the Mr. and
[00:37:09] Mrs. sign, and you would think, no.
[00:37:11] That's a four-season sign.
[00:37:12] That's, no, that's not even a Hampton Inn sign.
[00:37:15] Like, no.
[00:37:16] You know, maybe, like, at your bachelorette party or something.
[00:37:20] The intercontinental didn't have a Mr. and Mrs.
[00:37:22] Maybe at the shower, but, like, not at the actual wedding.
[00:37:25] Ixnay.
[00:37:27] I have a few.
[00:37:30] I felt like, so at one point after the evening, the first evening, he's talking about how she's
[00:37:37] so amazing and I should have said something or whatever, and they, like, lay out, like,
[00:37:42] hey, here's what you should say.
[00:37:43] And Danny is like, you know, she's a home run.
[00:37:47] She's hitting her out of the park.
[00:37:49] And Tyler's character's like, I think what Danny's trying to say with his baseball analogies
[00:37:53] is she's amazing.
[00:37:55] I feel like his analogies are pretty straightforward.
[00:37:57] BJ Light understands home run.
[00:37:59] Yes.
[00:38:00] Like, even if we all understand home run.
[00:38:02] Home run.
[00:38:03] It was like he was delving into, like, the pop fly rule or, like, RBIs or something.
[00:38:08] You know what I mean?
[00:38:08] Yeah.
[00:38:09] You said it, pal.
[00:38:10] I do admire this movie's commitment to, like, we're going to let Jonathan Bennett be as,
[00:38:15] like, Jonathan Bennett as he wants to, but he's also going to be an employee of Major
[00:38:19] League Baseball.
[00:38:20] It would have been cool if he did.
[00:38:21] And I dare you to say anything about it.
[00:38:24] Yeah, exactly.
[00:38:24] And I will.
[00:38:25] The problem is no one bought it.
[00:38:28] He did.
[00:38:28] Like, no one.
[00:38:29] Yeah.
[00:38:30] Yeah.
[00:38:33] When she and him have the conversation when he gets back to the hotel after running for
[00:38:39] the first time and then he drinks.
[00:38:40] Yeah.
[00:38:41] Who's getting in that cab?
[00:38:42] I don't know.
[00:38:43] It's not her.
[00:38:44] I forgot that one.
[00:38:44] It's not her.
[00:38:45] But she's like, I got to go now.
[00:38:47] Walk me out.
[00:38:48] And he's like, yes.
[00:38:49] By the time he gets up, she's already out the door.
[00:38:53] She's gone.
[00:38:53] She's like, walk me out?
[00:38:54] Yeah.
[00:38:55] She runs out.
[00:38:56] And he's like, I'll get there when I get there.
[00:38:58] That's not a walk out.
[00:38:59] It's the longest morning imaginable.
[00:39:01] Yeah.
[00:39:01] They've already had breakfast.
[00:39:02] Oh, my God.
[00:39:03] They've had breakfast.
[00:39:04] Then they go to the hotel.
[00:39:05] Like, come on.
[00:39:06] It's breakfast the day after the wedding.
[00:39:09] She has to leave in the morning.
[00:39:11] They're eating breakfast with their kid at a bar.
[00:39:14] Yeah.
[00:39:14] Like, it's a weird morning.
[00:39:16] Yes, it's a weird morning.
[00:39:17] Yeah.
[00:39:17] Maybe it's the long second.
[00:39:18] It's the long second.
[00:39:20] Shout out.
[00:39:20] They use the one.
[00:39:21] They use the one.
[00:39:22] It's the one off.
[00:39:25] When, you know, they don't have the service, he thinks that she blocked him, that whole
[00:39:31] thing.
[00:39:32] She calls him.
[00:39:33] And I believe it's 2 a.m., if the clock is correct, because he's sleeping.
[00:39:38] But who can really say?
[00:39:39] Because he's sleeping with literally every light on.
[00:39:42] Yep.
[00:39:43] Yep.
[00:39:43] I, we've talked about this sometimes.
[00:39:45] You know, you could, like, there couldn't be more lights on.
[00:39:48] We understand you have to shoot the scene.
[00:39:49] This guy is broad daylight.
[00:39:50] It's one thing that your curtains are open and all the life rounds are coming in.
[00:39:53] But no, he's got lamps.
[00:39:55] All the, all the lines are closed.
[00:39:56] Not, hard to say what time it is, but he's got all the lights on.
[00:40:00] And so, I don't know.
[00:40:01] It's an interesting choice.
[00:40:05] They're going to go on their first date at 7 o'clock.
[00:40:08] It's better than 8.
[00:40:09] It's still too late for a date.
[00:40:11] I'm sorry.
[00:40:11] 7 o'clock would be, I think it's way too late, obviously.
[00:40:15] You've got to pick someone up at 5.
[00:40:17] Everybody would agree that in a rom-com, 7 o'clock is the standard.
[00:40:21] Still too early.
[00:40:22] It's still too late.
[00:40:23] These people aren't married yet.
[00:40:25] I know.
[00:40:25] I know.
[00:40:26] It's too late.
[00:40:27] It's too late.
[00:40:27] Too late.
[00:40:29] 5 o'clock, it's the best I can do.
[00:40:30] Dude, a 5.15 reservation.
[00:40:32] Oh, my.
[00:40:32] There's nothing better.
[00:40:34] Nothing better.
[00:40:35] You know you're not going to wait at all.
[00:40:36] It's going to be great.
[00:40:37] God.
[00:40:38] Life with Dave White.
[00:40:39] Believe me.
[00:40:39] When they are out on the camping trip and they go into the cave because it's raining or whatever,
[00:40:48] and after they make up, the friends, Jonathan Bennett character says, I'm going to go sleep outside.
[00:40:55] I'm not going to deal with a spider.
[00:40:57] Give me the cave over sleeping outside, right?
[00:41:01] Like, people would love to sleep in the protection of a cave, right?
[00:41:06] Yeah.
[00:41:06] I agree with you.
[00:41:06] And the reason why he left the cave was because of bugs.
[00:41:12] Surprise.
[00:41:12] How is he?
[00:41:13] Like, it just, that was such a weird reason to leave the cave was bugs.
[00:41:18] It's as if the bugs are all in cave and go, we can't go outside.
[00:41:22] We hate the sun.
[00:41:23] Bugs know where the line is.
[00:41:24] They don't leave.
[00:41:26] Yeah.
[00:41:26] They would never.
[00:41:26] They don't leave.
[00:41:27] And you did talk about the wedding at the Yates, but just imagine, you know, I'm going to this country for a wedding.
[00:41:37] There's a delay of sorts.
[00:41:40] You know, I don't even know if I'm going to make it.
[00:41:42] And you get there and you find out they've already had the wedding.
[00:41:47] They had it outside.
[00:41:48] And sorry.
[00:41:48] Thanks for coming.
[00:41:50] That's tough.
[00:41:50] That's a tough break.
[00:41:51] Like, even, I don't, did they even wait for the, because they had a smaller,
[00:41:55] they decided they wanted a small, intimate wedding.
[00:41:58] Did they even wait for the proper time?
[00:42:00] Like, the time that they said they were going to have the wedding?
[00:42:02] If people did show up?
[00:42:04] Playing by their own rules.
[00:42:05] It's hard to say.
[00:42:06] But you go all the way to another country, like, oh, they went ahead and they got married outside.
[00:42:11] That better be one heck of a five-star resort.
[00:42:12] All right.
[00:42:13] Great.
[00:42:13] Cool.
[00:42:13] Congrats.
[00:42:14] Dana?
[00:42:15] Yeah.
[00:42:15] You guys hit on some of the big ones for sure.
[00:42:18] I will say this.
[00:42:18] As someone that knows people from Philadelphia, like, I'm sorry.
[00:42:23] I don't, like, like.
[00:42:24] West Philadelphia?
[00:42:25] Born and raised.
[00:42:26] But the people in Philadelphia care about their products more.
[00:42:31] And Hallmark messes it up more than any other city.
[00:42:35] And I don't understand.
[00:42:36] None of these people, like, literally.
[00:42:38] Jonathan Bennett, Tyler Hines, BJ Britt.
[00:42:41] Why?
[00:42:42] Make it a town that nobody has any of these markers for that are so obvious.
[00:42:47] And instead they're like, you can't beat a Philly pretzel.
[00:42:51] Okay, buddy.
[00:42:53] Cool.
[00:42:53] Great.
[00:42:54] I'm glad you said that line.
[00:42:55] I am still dumbfounded by the fact that they all went to a wedding.
[00:43:00] And then the three of those dudes all live in town.
[00:43:05] They all do.
[00:43:05] So they didn't stay at the hotel.
[00:43:07] Right.
[00:43:07] And then they all got up and they all met each other for Sunday morning breakfast.
[00:43:12] That's weird.
[00:43:13] My impression was, like, this is their hangout.
[00:43:16] This is where they always go.
[00:43:18] And then BJ Britt is in a tailored suit and tie.
[00:43:21] True.
[00:43:22] At Sunday morning breakfast.
[00:43:23] And also, you know who tends to be busy with work in the first thing in the morning?
[00:43:29] Pediatricians especially.
[00:43:30] Like, this guy is in a tailored suit.
[00:43:33] Tie all the way up.
[00:43:35] Sunday morning breakfast after wedding.
[00:43:37] And then he gets crapped on about his fashion.
[00:43:41] What is that about?
[00:43:42] I like.
[00:43:43] Yeah.
[00:43:44] I mean, I think the idea is, like, you know, he's supposed to be Mr. Anal Retentive schedule guy.
[00:43:49] So that's why he's always dressed up.
[00:43:50] And the idea is, like, for your date, you need to maybe, like, not wear a tie.
[00:43:54] I wrote this down.
[00:43:55] You don't dress well, says guy in Philly's polo to guy in tailored suit.
[00:44:00] Yeah.
[00:44:02] What in the world?
[00:44:03] That's a home run.
[00:44:04] I did have some qualms about white gay guy judges black guys fashion sense.
[00:44:08] I was like.
[00:44:09] Especially when it's BJ Britt in a tailored suit.
[00:44:13] Yeah.
[00:44:13] It's not like he's off the rack.
[00:44:14] But even in the trying on clothes montage where he puts on, like, the stupid stuff.
[00:44:19] It's like, yeah, but on you it looks good.
[00:44:21] It still works.
[00:44:23] My man has, like, everything he wears in the movie is made for him.
[00:44:28] Yeah.
[00:44:28] To me, like.
[00:44:30] And the guy in the Philly's polo is like, we need to go shopping.
[00:44:34] To me, it would have made more sense, though.
[00:44:36] It's that default gay guy, like, you know, I know more about shoes than you.
[00:44:39] Right.
[00:44:39] I do not.
[00:44:40] That's my thing.
[00:44:41] Let me be very clear.
[00:44:42] Exactly.
[00:44:42] You don't want to take me shopping because my taste sucks.
[00:44:45] Is there anything else in the movie aside from that scene that would make us believe
[00:44:48] that Jonathan Bennett is the fashion guy?
[00:44:50] Nothing.
[00:44:51] Not really.
[00:44:51] Because if anything, we know that Jackson has clients.
[00:44:56] Like, Jackson is the one.
[00:44:58] He would send the influencer over.
[00:44:59] Yes.
[00:45:00] Yes.
[00:45:01] That was very weird.
[00:45:02] No, this is a longstanding myth that, like, all gay men have good taste.
[00:45:05] And I think we all know now that's just not true.
[00:45:07] But if you had a buddy of yours who is gay and wore just Philly's polos.
[00:45:11] He'd be probably the last guy I would have.
[00:45:13] And then told you how to dress.
[00:45:14] I'm very excited that I found this very Christmassy L.L.Bean flannel shirt.
[00:45:18] Follow.tv slash GTH.
[00:45:20] That's right.
[00:45:20] But, like, that is the height of my own.
[00:45:22] Oh, it is very nice.
[00:45:23] Dave White is curating my look most of the time.
[00:45:26] L.L.Bean.com promo code DECK as well for the Alonzo look.
[00:45:29] I didn't want to say it.
[00:45:30] Oh, can you imagine?
[00:45:32] The montage of Heather Hemmins and BJ Britt talking to each other on the phone, trying to schedule a time to see each other, is one of the most laughable things in the history of movie making.
[00:45:42] Apparently, they both work in doctor's offices with giant whiteboard calendars with post-it notes all over it.
[00:45:49] They ain't even heard of the cloud.
[00:45:50] Are you kidding me?
[00:45:52] No one's on a Slack channel here.
[00:45:54] Nobody's slacking.
[00:45:55] Nobody's messaging.
[00:45:56] Nobody's calendaring.
[00:45:57] They all are operating on the giant marker board calendar with post-it notes.
[00:46:03] Do you have to?
[00:46:04] No, I got nothing.
[00:46:05] I couldn't.
[00:46:05] And then when they talk, it's like, all right, what can you do next week?
[00:46:09] Nothing.
[00:46:09] What can you do next month?
[00:46:10] Nothing.
[00:46:11] What about the month after that?
[00:46:12] Nothing.
[00:46:13] What about the month after that?
[00:46:13] At some point, you're going to start saying the names of the months.
[00:46:16] You're going to start.
[00:46:17] You don't.
[00:46:18] If I say, what about the month after the next month?
[00:46:20] You're going to be like, what are you talking about?
[00:46:22] You're immediately going to be like, is that December or January?
[00:46:25] Right.
[00:46:25] They didn't have the rights to months here.
[00:46:27] Clearly, they couldn't pull off that.
[00:46:29] Seven hours are negligible.
[00:46:30] So time clearly means nothing.
[00:46:32] And then it coincides with her surprise video calling him from, I'm going to low ball it,
[00:46:38] five feet away.
[00:46:40] Right.
[00:46:40] Like, he turns around and like, how did you not?
[00:46:43] It's a wide open field, man.
[00:46:44] Like, how did you not see any of that?
[00:46:48] He takes Heather Hemans to dinner and says, this is ranked one of the three best spots in
[00:46:53] town, which is a line that should just never be said.
[00:46:57] Because then you immediately are going, well, there's two better.
[00:47:00] Right?
[00:47:00] Like, you should just say, this is one of, this is consensus, one of the best.
[00:47:05] Sure.
[00:47:06] One of the three best.
[00:47:07] Well, where is it?
[00:47:08] It's got to be three.
[00:47:09] Because if it was two, you'd say one of the two best.
[00:47:12] That's true.
[00:47:12] When you say three, what you're saying is, I didn't take you to the first or second best.
[00:47:16] Just welcome to the bronze.
[00:47:18] Yes, that's right.
[00:47:18] That's right.
[00:47:19] You got third best.
[00:47:20] Everybody knows that when you do lists online, you don't put them in any specific order.
[00:47:25] It's like, here are three.
[00:47:26] Top three.
[00:47:27] They're all on the equal.
[00:47:29] If Alonzo was doing lists, that's how he would do that.
[00:47:32] That's right.
[00:47:32] We're not doing numbers here.
[00:47:35] No.
[00:47:35] And the last one, and I have the feeling, and I don't want to step on your what the Hallmark,
[00:47:38] but the fact that you didn't mention this guitarist yet is beyond me.
[00:47:43] The music that is playing, we see all the time in Hallmark movies, the music that's playing doesn't match up.
[00:47:50] This guy is going at maybe a quarter of the speed.
[00:47:54] Yeah.
[00:47:54] He's like doing this, and the music is like, he's just like, I don't know what happened here.
[00:48:02] I don't know where the editing went wrong, but it's a mess.
[00:48:06] There's no way he's getting invited back, though.
[00:48:07] You can't get that close to people.
[00:48:10] But also, they keep showing close-ups of his hands, and they just don't match.
[00:48:15] Yeah.
[00:48:15] They're not even close.
[00:48:17] Like, try to make us think they're actually listening to that music.
[00:48:20] It was real bad.
[00:48:21] That's all I got.
[00:48:21] But strolling musicians is a favorite sort of Hallmark trope of like, you know, thing that is annoying in the world.
[00:48:26] It's time for What the Hallmark.
[00:48:28] It's where we wonder what could have been.
[00:48:29] Maybe having some clarity, any questions that we still have.
[00:48:32] What are we still wondering about?
[00:48:33] Maybe we'll get some answers to the coming movies.
[00:48:35] I don't know, but Alonzo.
[00:48:36] Yeah, that's the thing.
[00:48:37] There are two movies to come, and we don't know what the Runaway Bride story is yet.
[00:48:42] So there's all of that is still on the table.
[00:48:44] But did I miss this?
[00:48:46] Did they pick a place where they're going to live?
[00:48:50] No.
[00:48:50] No.
[00:48:50] They're going to just be long-distance.
[00:48:52] That's my area now?
[00:48:53] He told, it came out of that dinner that he's considering moving over.
[00:48:58] Right.
[00:48:58] But then he tells them in the cave that I didn't want to tell you because then that would make it real.
[00:49:03] Yes.
[00:49:03] It seems like there's...
[00:49:04] I think he's coming, going to move to her.
[00:49:06] He's going to go to Bulgaria.
[00:49:07] I think.
[00:49:08] But they don't say it definitively, for sure.
[00:49:11] Yeah.
[00:49:11] So it just sort of felt like, all right, we're just going to leave that up.
[00:49:14] But again, we have two more movies.
[00:49:15] So anything is fine.
[00:49:16] I mean, they're clearly like the woman at the bar in the wedding dress.
[00:49:22] That's...
[00:49:22] Is that who's with Tyler Hines?
[00:49:25] Do we know that?
[00:49:26] The assumption would be that the third movie will be the Tyler Hines wedding and she's fleeing for whatever reason.
[00:49:33] Yeah.
[00:49:33] But I don't know for sure.
[00:49:34] IMDb is very nonspecific about...
[00:49:37] Maybe the fact that I think that Walker, Campbell, and Hines are such a perfect three...
[00:49:43] Like the chemistry there is off the charts good.
[00:49:46] I thought that these...
[00:49:47] Well, I think the writing is better.
[00:49:49] The writing is...
[00:49:49] Oh, the writing is way better.
[00:49:52] And so I think that maybe that gives them the edge.
[00:49:55] But I...
[00:49:56] You know, look.
[00:49:56] Put these three in a Campbell-susted script?
[00:50:00] Might be a different story.
[00:50:01] Maybe.
[00:50:02] Maybe you're right.
[00:50:03] They...
[00:50:03] So my...
[00:50:04] What the hallmark is, I felt like they did do a good enough job with the other two characters
[00:50:08] to make me wonder a lot just about them.
[00:50:13] What is Jonathan Bennett's deal?
[00:50:15] He's a very interesting character.
[00:50:17] What's Tyler Hines' deal?
[00:50:18] Like, I'm...
[00:50:19] And how much...
[00:50:20] You're not dreading seeing movies about that?
[00:50:22] No.
[00:50:22] They gave us just enough about those characters to make me go,
[00:50:26] Huh.
[00:50:27] I wonder what their deal is.
[00:50:29] So for that reason, congratulations.
[00:50:32] But there is one other scene when they're walking in the park, I believe,
[00:50:37] and Tyler Hines' daughter has this bag,
[00:50:41] and she's like, don't look in the bag.
[00:50:43] And then they don't...
[00:50:44] Oh, yeah.
[00:50:44] They don't do anything with that.
[00:50:46] Is that going to somehow come back?
[00:50:48] Are they seeding something?
[00:50:49] I don't know.
[00:50:50] Are they going to come back?
[00:50:50] Yes.
[00:50:51] I do blame Sister Swap for some of this.
[00:50:52] Yes.
[00:50:53] Like, Sister Swap did this.
[00:50:54] I'm not re-litigating Sister Swap with you guys.
[00:50:56] And they did it better.
[00:50:57] You're wrong about Sister Swap.
[00:50:58] I want to be very clear.
[00:50:58] Sister Swap did it better.
[00:50:59] But after Sister Swap, we've had Wedding Veil, Love Club, and this,
[00:51:03] which are not the exact same thing as Sister Swap,
[00:51:06] but this idea of the, like, Love Club especially does the same opening scene
[00:51:11] in all four movies.
[00:51:12] Like, that idea that I said Sister Swap didn't do well
[00:51:17] and you disagree with me on it, that's fine.
[00:51:19] All of these other movies are doing it worse.
[00:51:21] So, like, so that may make Sister Swap better in retrospect,
[00:51:25] but I do blame Sister Swap for some of this stuff that I don't think they're ever,
[00:51:29] I don't think they're ever going to pay off that.
[00:51:31] It took me a second to remember, but I don't think they're going to pay it off.
[00:51:32] It was just a very small thing, and I literally wrote down,
[00:51:38] yo, what's in the bag?
[00:51:39] Yeah, yo, what's in the bag?
[00:51:40] What's in the bag?
[00:51:41] And I thought, I was like, I'll put this here, I'm sure they'll get to it.
[00:51:44] But, like, okay, these movies exist because Three Wise Men and a Baby
[00:51:48] was a big, big hit.
[00:51:50] Wedding Veil was too.
[00:51:51] Okay, yes.
[00:51:52] But my question is, was Sister Swap a big enough thing
[00:51:55] that it has become influential?
[00:51:57] Or is it just a random coincidence?
[00:51:59] Sister Swap broke the seal, the glass ceiling, if you will,
[00:52:02] on this very specific idea of doing these scenes?
[00:52:07] Multiple movies.
[00:52:07] Yes.
[00:52:08] Gotcha.
[00:52:08] Yeah, yeah, yeah.
[00:52:10] Mine is the thing this movie has going for it,
[00:52:13] which I, obviously the chemistry of those three guys didn't work for me,
[00:52:17] but they get a lot of screen time together in this movie.
[00:52:20] Did they put this one first because that's where most of the screen time is?
[00:52:23] Or are we supposed to expect they get that much screen time together
[00:52:27] in the next two?
[00:52:28] Because if B.J. Brint's moving to Bulgaria,
[00:52:30] I think that becomes tough logistically,
[00:52:32] but also from a filmmaking standpoint it becomes tough.
[00:52:36] Are we, I just, my question is,
[00:52:37] do you think we're going to get this much of the three dudes
[00:52:40] actually in the same room together in the next two movies?
[00:52:43] You know what's interesting?
[00:52:44] I just had this thought.
[00:52:45] The 15 is a hard age line,
[00:52:49] I wonder if it was meant for another movie.
[00:52:51] Yeah.
[00:52:52] Because there's a chance that this,
[00:52:55] like the next movie takes place in two years,
[00:52:58] or Tyler Hines' movie takes place in two years,
[00:53:00] where 15 is indeed a hard age.
[00:53:03] So if you're writing three movies that take place over time
[00:53:06] and you've written this one,
[00:53:08] that's something to keep an eye on.
[00:53:10] I'll tell you though,
[00:53:11] I think that scene in the cave really is setting up the next two movies
[00:53:14] where he rails on Bennett for not wanting a commitment
[00:53:18] and they rail on Hines for not dating anybody.
[00:53:22] I think that's the germ of the idea of what the next two are going to be about.
[00:53:26] For sure.
[00:53:27] Yeah.
[00:53:27] Interesting.
[00:53:28] Well, we did it everybody.
[00:53:29] We did it.
[00:53:30] We'll be back next week with the second one.
[00:53:32] And Alonzo, you're joining us for all three of them.
[00:53:34] Yes sir.
[00:53:34] I don't know if you are.
[00:53:35] But you're joining us for all three of them.
[00:53:36] It's going to be a lot of fun.
[00:53:38] Until then,
[00:53:39] may we be the first to wish you a...
[00:53:40] Merry Christmas!
