[00:00:53] Wow, hi!

[00:01:06] Oh man.

[00:01:07] Hi everyone!

[00:01:08] It's great to be here today on a Wednesday!

[00:01:11] Talk about the way home in my friends.

[00:01:13] It's just a great day.

[00:01:14] So great to be here.

[00:01:15] Ryan, we got to get right to business.

[00:01:18] The most asked question I think on the internet last week if you go.

[00:01:22] How many episodes before cat and Jacob speak to each other?

[00:01:25] No, it isn't that.

[00:01:26] It is.

[00:01:27] Did Ryan win his VCR blue ray combo?

[00:01:32] Yeah, VHS, D-D-D-D-VHS blue ray combo.

[00:01:35] And I just swear, yeah.

[00:01:37] I didn't get it.

[00:01:40] Someone helped it.

[00:01:42] Oh, for how much?

[00:01:44] I think they bought it for full price.

[00:01:47] I'm 250.

[00:01:48] I tried to get it.

[00:01:49] I tried to get it for, I think, with tax 180 something.

[00:01:52] It was purchased for 250, I think straight up by whoever ended up in that way.

[00:01:56] We did not buy that.

[00:01:57] I would love to be free from here.

[00:01:58] I thought that's where we were going.

[00:01:59] I thought that's where we were going for a second.

[00:02:02] We did not purchase it but as soon as I heard you didn't get it, I certainly wish we

[00:02:07] had.

[00:02:08] But we did not.

[00:02:09] I felt a little responsible.

[00:02:10] Yeah.

[00:02:11] Oh no!

[00:02:12] I mean don't be hard on yourself.

[00:02:13] I mean you guys, I mean Dan said, quote, hunk of junk, not worth it.

[00:02:16] I did.

[00:02:17] Still, I did lose sleep trying to figure out how it was helpful to you.

[00:02:23] But I didn't.

[00:02:25] It's not a recorder.

[00:02:26] You're not recording VHS like new DVDs of VHS types.

[00:02:31] It just plays them both with one device, right?

[00:02:33] Wonderful.

[00:02:34] Yes.

[00:02:35] I am again not at home or else I would give you the reason as to why I thought it could

[00:02:38] be good in said space.

[00:02:39] But unless if you listen, there will be more opportunities although I don't know how many

[00:02:43] there are left in the wild.

[00:02:46] So that might have been the best chance but listen, I have a blue right player, I have a

[00:02:51] VCR.

[00:02:52] But the space.

[00:02:53] Yeah.

[00:02:54] The chord thing about this is space alone.

[00:02:57] I mean man you can just put your RF modulator away at this point.

[00:03:03] You know, unlike last week, this feels a little mocky so maybe we'll...

[00:03:07] Oh no!

[00:03:08] Last week didn't feel mocky then we did not do a great job.

[00:03:13] Yeah, so there will be more opportunities.

[00:03:17] I allocated that money elsewhere, everything's fine.

[00:03:20] You know?

[00:03:21] Do you mind if I ask well for?

[00:03:23] Yeah.

[00:03:24] Well maybe we cut this out if the list is listening.

[00:03:26] I'll listen.

[00:03:27] There was a high end action figure that I wanted that like I put a little down for.

[00:03:31] When you say honey you put it down.

[00:03:35] We better stop full price.

[00:03:36] These are both great questions.

[00:03:39] What is a high end action figure?

[00:03:41] One and two, you put a down payment on that?

[00:03:44] Yeah no I mean literally I put 45 down now to pay more than that later.

[00:03:50] How much?

[00:03:51] How much?

[00:03:52] I mean soup did not still be about one, one sixty.

[00:03:55] Soup did not.

[00:03:56] I bet it won't even fit in a VCR.

[00:03:59] Ah, yeah so it's like a one, one sixty total.

[00:04:03] And then it's a one twelve scale replica figure.

[00:04:06] So it'll be like, it's like really high end stuff.

[00:04:09] So what kind of who is it?

[00:04:10] Who is this?

[00:04:11] It's a exact replica of the white power engine from the first film that will go next to

[00:04:19] my screen used helmet from the film once I get my display unit going in my office.

[00:04:24] It might still be clear when he says exact replica he means one twelve of exact replica.

[00:04:28] Someone still in no one wore it on the no one.

[00:04:31] No my helmet actually was worn on the film.

[00:04:35] Yes but yeah this figure is a one twelve replica of set price.

[00:04:38] 45 dollars down one twenty later.

[00:04:40] How big is one twelve?

[00:04:42] What do we talk about?

[00:04:43] You know like yes.

[00:04:45] So the size of an action figure.

[00:04:49] No big I would say the size of a, I probably around twelve, you know twelve inches or so

[00:04:53] right?

[00:04:54] I mean one twelve, one twelve.

[00:04:55] Yeah yeah.

[00:04:56] I mean my kids have some action figures that are about.

[00:05:00] The detail on those.

[00:05:01] You're not going to, how dare you come in here with that nonsense.

[00:05:05] Weeks off.

[00:05:06] This is high end brand.

[00:05:08] You got it.

[00:05:09] Did you put a down payment on any of those?

[00:05:11] You certainly did not.

[00:05:12] Is this a, do you have to go through a firm financing for any of your, you know are you

[00:05:18] paying monthly?

[00:05:19] No no.

[00:05:20] It was forty up front and then you pay the rest, you pay the rest later.

[00:05:24] Yeah so I'm trying to go situation.

[00:05:26] There's no interest go hundred years.

[00:05:28] No it's, I don't know if you can, there, you know, it's really good.

[00:05:31] Yeah, you see that time.

[00:05:33] Violin on TV says DTA, DTA, DTA that's high end.

[00:05:36] Yeah, yeah.

[00:05:37] The detail.

[00:05:38] It's a good stuff.

[00:05:39] Wait so you have a helmet that was worn on set?

[00:05:42] Yeah, yeah, it's from the original film.

[00:05:45] It's a very long story.

[00:05:46] But do you still, do you still pay in that off?

[00:05:49] No no, I can't reveal how much that was but I'm doing fine.

[00:05:55] I can't, isn't more than a thousand dollars.

[00:05:58] Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah

[00:06:03] Are you going to be buried in it?

[00:06:05] Wow, have I told you that before?

[00:06:06] Yes.

[00:06:07] That's the point, that's the plan.

[00:06:08] Yeah like that is the plan like, uh, yeah that is genuinely, the only thing that comforts

[00:06:13] me about my inevitable demise is that I will be buried and said helmet from if you've

[00:06:18] ever seen the first power ranger film this helmet looked Ivan who's in the eye like

[00:06:23] it was wow.

[00:06:24] Yeah, so but yeah more than a grand more than a grand.

[00:06:27] Tell me about the casket.

[00:06:30] Uh, because I'm sure you have it all played out.

[00:06:32] Is it also, is it all white?

[00:06:34] Have we seen this casket?

[00:06:35] No, I'm going to say it's it's going to be a great tie.

[00:06:38] I'm Ryan and I like the way home.

[00:06:39] Yes.

[00:06:40] He liked the way that point is a metaphor for.

[00:06:45] I have to be honest.

[00:06:46] I'm going to be, I'm going to be so sad when you die.

[00:06:50] But are you dying soon?

[00:06:53] Like, are we like where you're at his age?

[00:06:56] You're going before.

[00:06:57] Yeah, I mean like there's no way around that.

[00:07:00] I'm going to make sure that's not the case because the thought of seeing you in your

[00:07:06] helmets is something I can't bear knowing that I, there's a chance I'll miss that.

[00:07:14] I don't want to dive deeper on you making sure it's not the case.

[00:07:17] I'm putting this.

[00:07:18] I'm putting the steps in place as we see Ryan.

[00:07:22] Is that what you're asking?

[00:07:23] That is I'm soon, that is I'm soon.

[00:07:25] That ramble fest this year.

[00:07:27] No, yeah.

[00:07:28] That casket will be lying with VHS tapes.

[00:07:30] It's going to be one big video cassette.

[00:07:34] Oh, yeah.

[00:07:35] No, as the, as it lowers into the ground, everyone's throwing their VHS on time.

[00:07:40] Oh, man.

[00:07:41] It's come on.

[00:07:42] We're obviously 90 times.

[00:07:44] We're all singing a half speed.

[00:07:45] Go go go go go.

[00:07:46] Power Rangers.

[00:07:47] That's beautiful.

[00:07:48] Yeah, yeah.

[00:07:49] Yeah, I know.

[00:07:50] The king is yours.

[00:07:51] Yeah, thank you.

[00:07:52] Thank you.

[00:07:53] No, no, if I'm still alive when you got it is tragic.

[00:07:56] Yeah, it's tragic for you.

[00:07:59] We all, we all got to wait to go.

[00:08:01] I'll record our record and bring it to heaven with me.

[00:08:04] I know you can't bring stuff through the pond, but you can bring videos to heaven.

[00:08:08] You really?

[00:08:09] Yeah, just put it in a Ziploc bag.

[00:08:10] I'll put it in a Ziploc bag will be good to go.

[00:08:12] Yes, yes, yes.

[00:08:13] That does get us to the way home everybody.

[00:08:14] We made it.

[00:08:15] It's time to talk about season two, episode seven.

[00:08:18] Yes.

[00:08:19] How to save a life?

[00:08:20] No, somewhere somebody that you somebody somewhere.

[00:08:23] We know somewhere only we know.

[00:08:26] You didn't know keen.

[00:08:27] No, you knew keen, right?

[00:08:29] Yeah, I knew keen.

[00:08:30] I knew we were going.

[00:08:31] It's always a bummer with the delay.

[00:08:33] We could ever harmonize the way that we.

[00:08:35] Right.

[00:08:36] Right.

[00:08:37] We'll be able to harmonize together and heaven though.

[00:08:40] Amen.

[00:08:41] Amen.

[00:08:42] The great harmony.

[00:08:43] The great VHS blue recombo in the sky.

[00:08:50] What a little something like this.

[00:08:57] Cat runs back to the present to try to get some supplies, including some pain meds to help

[00:09:05] her brother, Jacob, who has been hits and is currently on his deathbed.

[00:09:13] He goes outside and Alice starts to argue with her like what are you doing?

[00:09:16] What's going on here?

[00:09:17] Just tell me Bob a Bob.

[00:09:18] Dell sees this happening through the window.

[00:09:20] So when Cat runs, is running to the pond, Dell shows up on Colton horsebacked to stop

[00:09:31] her and asks where she's running off to.

[00:09:33] A dozen ways you could have said that and all of them would have been better than what

[00:09:38] you chose.

[00:09:39] Great.

[00:09:40] All of them.

[00:09:41] Agreed.

[00:09:42] But try to do worse than shows up on Colton and take them.

[00:09:46] Can't.

[00:09:47] I want to.

[00:09:48] It's perfect.

[00:09:49] They end up back in the kitchen and Dell throws the founders day edition of the paper

[00:09:54] down on the table.

[00:09:55] It says, the mayor's office has been calling looking for you wanting to know why the founders

[00:10:02] day editions are completing barrison in this town.

[00:10:08] I'm not going to run Colton.

[00:10:15] I'm going to run Colton bear back.

[00:10:18] I'll be back later.

[00:10:19] All right, come on.

[00:10:20] Alice says you know that horse can't handle that.

[00:10:27] Alice says it's my fault.

[00:10:28] It can't won't let her take the blame for it.

[00:10:31] Sam knocks on the door though and brought Dell some coffee hoping to have another nearly

[00:10:37] new situation.

[00:10:38] We do not.

[00:10:39] While that's happening, Alice tells Kat that they have to tell Dell the truth and Kat is

[00:10:45] like, I don't want to get Dell's hopes up because of what if Jake dies over there and

[00:10:50] then I can't bring them back to the future.

[00:10:53] Dell comes back and tells Kat that she lied to the mayor to protect her, protect herself

[00:10:59] protect family, tells Kat that she you're being unreliable, unprofessional, very disappointed.

[00:11:06] At the pond, Kat sees Elliot and Elliot's like, hey man, don't think you're going to

[00:11:11] bring that baggy of goodies with you in the pond.

[00:11:14] She's like, what do you know?

[00:11:15] I don't have time for your theories.

[00:11:18] He was correct.

[00:11:19] The bag of goodies pops right back up to this top of the pond.

[00:11:23] Alice runs into adult Nick who is in town.

[00:11:26] I was asking about him last week so that was nice of him who just got back into town.

[00:11:31] She's looking for Kat or Elliot or any of his friends notices that the Landry's boat

[00:11:36] is still in their yard.

[00:11:38] Maybe I should give it a go.

[00:11:44] Alice does not really want to spend time around him because it's weird, because they kissed

[00:11:50] back in 1999.

[00:11:52] That's tough.

[00:11:53] Kat pops up in 1918 and his mad, the pond took her supplies.

[00:11:56] Thomas is waiting for her, not at all surprises.

[00:11:58] She just popped out of the water.

[00:12:00] Thomas tells her that he'll take her to Jacob and hands her some men's clothing and saying,

[00:12:05] hey, everyone is looking for the white witch.

[00:12:08] Safe for you to dress like a man right now.

[00:12:10] Dude looks like a lady though.

[00:12:12] Do you want to name it that?

[00:12:17] No.

[00:12:18] You want to name it that?

[00:12:19] No, we got a fresh teen song coming here.

[00:12:21] Don't look like a lady.

[00:12:23] Tom takes Kat to the lighthouse but they're hiding Jacob and Kat.

[00:12:30] He goes on this trap door.

[00:12:32] He slams the doors if he's like a lot of men there.

[00:12:35] It's just the way he closes doors.

[00:12:38] Kat is like, oh my gosh, Jacob and he's not looking good.

[00:12:42] He's not looking good.

[00:12:43] And he's a bad shape.

[00:12:45] She's saying to tell us, Kat, hey, do you remember how I fixed your little wounds?

[00:12:49] There's a lot of wounds.

[00:12:50] Going to need a lot of the herbs and the spices.

[00:12:54] We need herbs.

[00:12:56] We need the KFC recipe.

[00:12:57] Yes, that.

[00:12:58] And so she's like, you stay here with my brother.

[00:13:03] I will go into the woods where I'm wanted and I will try to find things.

[00:13:08] So Alice is at work.

[00:13:11] Nick and Elliot show up.

[00:13:12] Nick is talking about how he wants his boat.

[00:13:15] Elliot sees Alice and is like, hey man, we should go somewhere else.

[00:13:19] But Nick wants to eat there.

[00:13:21] Come on.

[00:13:23] Nick finds out that the estate, the linger more is on sale and Elliot really wants to change

[00:13:31] that subject.

[00:13:32] He doesn't want to be here.

[00:13:33] And he wants to change the subject as fast as possible.

[00:13:36] Kat and Thomas are in the woods.

[00:13:38] He pushes her to the ground when he hears some people coming.

[00:13:40] The sparks begin to fly.

[00:13:41] You're like, oh my gosh, you're about to kiss.

[00:13:43] Didn't see this coming.

[00:13:46] And that's when she decides to let him know that she's not a witch rather.

[00:13:50] She's a timed traveler.

[00:13:52] After about five seconds, he totally believes her.

[00:13:55] Cupid we know which we all know.

[00:13:59] Yeah.

[00:14:00] The kid who works with the food truck and whatnot.

[00:14:02] Gives Alice a hard time about the newspaper but agrees to help her look more into this linger

[00:14:08] more incidents that's really been bothering her.

[00:14:10] She ends up finding a folder full of old photo reels of the incidents but they need a

[00:14:16] way to see those.

[00:14:18] So he's like, let me get back to you.

[00:14:21] I'll figure this out.

[00:14:22] And Tomas make it back to the lighthouse as Jacob is coming too but he freaks out.

[00:14:27] Kat is like, what are you doing here?

[00:14:31] That's Jacob and I got some fever causing the leery.

[00:14:35] The leader of him.

[00:14:36] Yeah, that's what I heard.

[00:14:37] Kat can do that.

[00:14:38] Kat stumbles back and bumps into a bunch of rum and then she freaks out.

[00:14:44] She's like, oh no, how are you doing?

[00:14:46] And she runs out and also calls to leave.

[00:14:48] I think that's exactly right.

[00:14:49] Runs out onto the beach.

[00:14:51] Thomas runs out there as well and it's like, hey, Kat, Jacob's not this innocent boy you

[00:14:57] remember.

[00:14:58] It was Jacob's idea this whole time to steal the rum.

[00:15:02] Kat freaks out on him and it's like, yeah, I just want to know my brother but he's dying.

[00:15:07] She pushes them away.

[00:15:08] He picks her up, walks into the water.

[00:15:11] She's like, put me down.

[00:15:13] He comes back, puts her on the beach and says, thought you needed to cool down.

[00:15:19] Dell and Sam spend the evening by the fire talking about going, it's talking about what's

[00:15:26] going on between them.

[00:15:28] How she's not sure if she wants a relationship.

[00:15:30] He's like, I just enjoy getting on my neighbor.

[00:15:32] Like a good neighbor.

[00:15:34] Sam is here.

[00:15:36] Nick and Elliot are also by a fire of their own drinking bear.

[00:15:41] Nick reveals that he's now single as fiance call it the wedding and sometimes, you know,

[00:15:46] sometimes loves hard.

[00:15:47] You know, and Elliot's like, boy is it?

[00:15:51] Then Kat and Thomas were by their own fire.

[00:15:53] Back in the lots of fire.

[00:15:54] Lots of fire.

[00:15:55] Standing outside the fire.

[00:15:59] They head back to the lighthouse where she falls asleep.

[00:16:02] She wakes up, Jacob's coughing and is getting closer to his death.

[00:16:07] She comes out and begs Thomas to get him to the pond.

[00:16:11] If you can just bring him to the pond, we can fix him.

[00:16:13] He's like, it's too dangerous.

[00:16:14] And she's like, I don't care if it's dangerous, but then the people show up.

[00:16:17] There's people coming.

[00:16:19] So she has to go into hiding, but they're fine.

[00:16:23] It's no big deal.

[00:16:25] Alice talks to Nick about her relationship problems.

[00:16:29] That's awkward seeing us how back then in 1999 they kissed.

[00:16:32] He doesn't know that though.

[00:16:34] So at this point, Noah shows up and is like, hey, I got this thing.

[00:16:37] We can scan the film in.

[00:16:39] It'll be great.

[00:16:41] While waiting for that, they sing, I want it that way.

[00:16:46] Could that have been the title?

[00:16:47] Yes.

[00:16:48] Was it?

[00:16:48] No.

[00:16:49] They end up kissing just as the picture shows up.

[00:16:53] Would have been a great title.

[00:16:54] She sees the picture.

[00:16:55] We see blood on the ground and Elliot's glasses right next to it.

[00:17:01] And a mask.

[00:17:02] What is going on here?

[00:17:05] It's at this point we see Elliot is looking at a folder where it talks about like, what's

[00:17:11] going to happen if Alice comes back?

[00:17:13] Well, she ever like, whatever.

[00:17:14] It's like this whole thing.

[00:17:15] Clearly he's thinking a lot about this event as well.

[00:17:18] Dell tells Nick that she can't sell the boat as she walks away.

[00:17:22] He recognizes Alice's voice from upstairs saying, and I wanted that way.

[00:17:27] He's like, I know that voice.

[00:17:29] Like in 1918, Kat sings a song from Colton to Jacob.

[00:17:35] And he lays their motionless and then we see flashes of...

[00:17:40] John?

[00:17:41] No.

[00:17:42] Wakes up.

[00:17:43] It starts to seize some childhood clips playing suddenly.

[00:17:47] Jacob wakes up, opens his eyes and says, Kat!

[00:17:50] And my friends was away home season two.

[00:17:54] So we're only we know.

[00:17:58] I want it that way.

[00:18:01] Let's say a quick break.

[00:18:02] Come here, why?

[00:18:03] Say good break.

[00:18:41] How are we doing?

[00:18:42] I think we're having a good time.

[00:18:44] Great.

[00:18:45] We're talking about the way home season two.

[00:18:46] We're talking about the way home season two.

[00:18:47] We're talking about the way home season two.

[00:18:48] We're talking about the way home season two.

[00:18:49] We're talking about the way home season two.

[00:18:50] We're talking about the way home season two.

[00:18:52] Episode seven.

[00:18:53] Only three more.

[00:18:54] Three left already?

[00:18:55] We weren't up until this season.

[00:18:56] We were going to roll in next January, presumably.

[00:19:00] Presumably?

[00:19:01] I've heard it both ways.

[00:19:03] Yeah, I've not until this very moment.

[00:19:06] Dumbitably.

[00:19:07] Supplementably.

[00:19:08] Supplementable messages about it super supposedly.

[00:19:13] Let's get to it.

[00:19:14] So we're gonna start with the hot takers where we share exactly how he felt about this

[00:19:18] episode.

[00:19:19] And I will say so far this season we've all been a little bit less excited about this season

[00:19:25] as a whole than last season.

[00:19:27] Let's see if this episode is going to be the turning point.

[00:19:30] I'll start with you Ryan, Ryan.

[00:19:33] What'd you think of the way home?

[00:19:36] So I had two big takeaways right?

[00:19:40] The first is on a macro level which is we've all said it abundant sometimes already which

[00:19:46] is that.

[00:19:47] I actually the cold open and the majority of the stuff that happened in present day felt

[00:19:51] like the show that I remembered as soon as we got to 1814 this episode more than any

[00:19:57] other.

[00:19:58] It was clear where I was just like maybe none of this would have happened if we just didn't

[00:20:02] go back 200 some odd years in the past and granted some of that is because of the story

[00:20:07] telling decisions they made and then some of it's just that I don't know, I don't want

[00:20:12] to keep doing the heroes thing.

[00:20:13] So anytime you go way back in the past, I just feel like audiences check out.

[00:20:17] We've said all that.

[00:20:18] My micro realization though was the story beat by beat of this episode.

[00:20:24] I was like man I think this could have been episode three.

[00:20:28] There it is.

[00:20:29] There it is right there.

[00:20:31] I was like man.

[00:20:33] I think if you cut out all the Augustine stuff, all the dirt, sorry brand, all of this

[00:20:39] other stuff like I feel like what there are not from this hypothetical world where this

[00:20:46] would have been episode two or three and then we see where we go from there.

[00:20:49] Maybe we wouldn't have liked that version of season two either, but we know we didn't

[00:20:53] like this version.

[00:20:55] But there was elements of this episode even in the 1814 stuff where I was like I would

[00:21:00] have been willing to see where this went.

[00:21:02] But now there's only so much time left.

[00:21:04] There's a hundred some odd minutes left and we got so much time of the season.

[00:21:08] We didn't like so that was really a bummer.

[00:21:12] Some interesting ideas and then ultimately the final few moments, this kid's doing interviews

[00:21:18] saying that he's Jacob, he knows Kat's name.

[00:21:21] It's probably Jacob and for me that's probably a point of no return.

[00:21:26] Those are my thoughts, brands are about to dirt.

[00:21:28] It's okay.

[00:21:29] I understand.

[00:21:30] You're right 100% Ryan.

[00:21:31] If this was episode three, I think we all would be way more on board than we are right

[00:21:35] now.

[00:21:36] Yeah.

[00:21:37] Yeah.

[00:21:38] Yeah.

[00:21:39] We got it.

[00:21:40] Go ahead.

[00:21:41] No, no that they haven't addressed it.

[00:21:42] It's even worse.

[00:21:43] I yeah, I thought this episode was fine to what Ryan said anytime we're here, anytime we're

[00:21:52] in the present.

[00:21:53] I'm a back and large having a good time.

[00:21:54] I could listen to Alice and Noah singing.

[00:21:59] I wanted that way having a good time playing detective putting the film into things, seeing

[00:22:04] that like that's fun.

[00:22:05] I'm having fun.

[00:22:06] That's like maybe 30% of the success.

[00:22:08] And we got this interesting thing going on with this estate.

[00:22:13] That's honestly the storyline that I'm most intrigued by, like what happened there?

[00:22:18] Clearly Alice is going to and if I was a betting man, I'd say that this is going to happen

[00:22:24] in the season finale, but she will go back to whenever this happened and this will be

[00:22:29] this big event and we'll finally find out what happened here.

[00:22:34] Did Alice kill someone and just never showed back up?

[00:22:38] I don't know.

[00:22:39] I don't know, but we're going to find out.

[00:22:41] I imagine I hope so.

[00:22:43] So that's the thing I'm most excited about.

[00:22:45] I'm happy we brought Nick back because I got a lot of unanswered questions and it sounds

[00:22:48] like he's going to be around for a little while seeing how he's been broken up with and

[00:22:52] whatnot maybe not.

[00:22:53] He couldn't get by the boat, but it's interesting.

[00:22:57] I'm not saying I, when she's having that conversation and the boat with Nick, I'm not saying

[00:23:03] I'm having a good time.

[00:23:04] It's making me feel a little bit icky inside, but it's something that needs to happen because

[00:23:08] she had a serious, serious stuff a little.

[00:23:11] Why does it need to happen?

[00:23:12] They closed the circle last season?

[00:23:13] No, they did not.

[00:23:14] They did.

[00:23:15] They did.

[00:23:16] They completely closed that he was engaged and he left.

[00:23:18] Yeah, but you remember there was something about you could see that you remembered a little

[00:23:22] something.

[00:23:23] Clearly, I like it.

[00:23:24] I like all of that.

[00:23:26] Really basically anything involving Alice.

[00:23:28] I'm on board with this.

[00:23:31] Dell and Sam, not nearly nude but close.

[00:23:37] They're talking around a fire so mine as well.

[00:23:39] 1814?

[00:23:40] 1814?

[00:23:41] 1814 could take her to leave it.

[00:23:44] Mainly, mainly leave it.

[00:23:45] I did like they set up this thing where it's like take them to the pond.

[00:23:50] And I'm like okay, are we just going to bring this guy to the pond?

[00:23:55] What's going to happen there?

[00:23:56] And then he came to without having to be brought to the pond.

[00:23:59] So the one thing that I thought could maybe make it interesting where they're trying to

[00:24:03] take this part of the pond and do the thing didn't end up happening.

[00:24:06] And so overall an okay episode, but I'm ready for us to be past 1814 and I'm worried when

[00:24:14] they're going to get in trouble.

[00:24:15] You're not, yeah, we're not going to be past it.

[00:24:17] They decided to put all their chips on the year 1814 for some reason.

[00:24:23] I don't know why.

[00:24:24] I hope it's not one of these.

[00:24:26] You know what, the War of 1812 has been underutilized in modern pop culture.

[00:24:33] Listen, once again last week's episode on Instagram we had some folks who are upset

[00:24:38] at us and clearly we're going to do the same thing every week.

[00:24:41] Thanks for continuing to listen.

[00:24:43] But I think part of the crux of that argument is, and this is what somebody said in a comment

[00:24:49] on Instagram this week which was you guys watched these Christmas movies and you just

[00:24:53] suspend your disbelief and you know that they're bad and you just give them a pass on

[00:24:57] all this stuff and you say that you like them.

[00:25:00] Why aren't you doing that with the show?

[00:25:02] This show is way better than that.

[00:25:04] And I think the answer is in the comment which is we all now are expecting a little bit

[00:25:10] more from this.

[00:25:11] If we're judging this based upon the worst Christmas movie I saw, then this is amazing.

[00:25:15] If we're judging it on what it is, then it's not good.

[00:25:18] I don't, guys anytime you have a show where the first season they're searching for a character.

[00:25:25] If in the second season they find that character in the premiere, a fleeting glance or name

[00:25:32] and then you don't actually have the person and the lead from your show talk through

[00:25:38] the first seven episodes, then you're spinning your wheels man.

[00:25:42] Like we can talk about 2024 and all that stuff is better than what's going on in

[00:25:48] 2018-14.

[00:25:49] But this show is putting most of its eggs in the basket of Jacob and 1814 and that is going

[00:25:56] so poorly.

[00:25:58] The Thomas thing with him carrying around the water was weird, the fact that Jacob

[00:26:03] and Kat still haven't talked to each other is observed that we are getting to the point

[00:26:09] where the excuses are like something out of whose line is it anyway?

[00:26:14] You need to go get herbs.

[00:26:16] His fever is causing delirium.

[00:26:19] You're just making stuff up so we don't weaken, this is a preview.

[00:26:24] This season is becoming a 10 episode trailer for season three.

[00:26:30] It is what if we done there?

[00:26:31] I'm 100% with Ryan.

[00:26:34] If he opens his eyes to the beginning of three or even two and get a, just take a lot

[00:26:38] of the dumb plotlines out of 1814 and get us back to present day.

[00:26:44] I'll forgive the fact that you brought Jacob with you.

[00:26:47] In present day, Alice's stuff is the most compelling stuff.

[00:26:52] Still of all the plotlines bringing Nick back was the dumbest to my opinion.

[00:26:57] That was the one thing that it was like, alright it's Iki, this guy is 42, she's 17.

[00:27:02] This is weird, it's Iki.

[00:27:04] It is back to the future ask.

[00:27:06] We did this in the first season.

[00:27:08] We closed that circle.

[00:27:09] We can move on from her first love and we can move on to better things.

[00:27:15] Instead they bring him back again and maybe Del gives him the boat?

[00:27:20] He's not even in the family.

[00:27:22] I thought that plotline just seemed to be very grasping its trance and it should tell

[00:27:26] you everything you need to know about this season of television that we hear about a party

[00:27:31] in 2007, in episode seven.

[00:27:34] It's easily the most interesting thing that we've seen.

[00:27:38] Really we're like, what's going on there?

[00:27:41] If that is the most interesting thing, then what they've been doing for the previous 200

[00:27:45] some minutes of television, 300 some minutes of television hasn't really worked.

[00:27:50] All I can hope is that this puts us on a new path that gets us out of 18, 14 and gives

[00:27:55] us something compelling to watch moving forward.

[00:27:58] But unfortunately more of the same.

[00:28:00] Maybe not as bad as last week's episode but more of the same for sure.

[00:28:02] That's just a point.

[00:28:03] It's time for all the fields we're talking about one in this episode gave us feels.

[00:28:08] The BSB needle job, which is always great.

[00:28:11] Yeah, come on.

[00:28:13] So I would have been me specifically, I would have been pumped no matter what but I will

[00:28:18] say in the midst of a rough season and an episode that was very up and down as we already

[00:28:22] talked about, I thought the moment between Alice and Noah like in the room, young love,

[00:28:28] I thought that was great.

[00:28:29] Like I genuinely like and that almost makes the rest of the episode especially the stuff

[00:28:34] that we're really keen in that isn't working more of a bummer because that was like one

[00:28:38] of the best depictions of young love I've seen on TV and a really, really long time.

[00:28:42] Two great performances, obviously a bop of a song.

[00:28:46] So it's a bummer to know that the show is still capable of really great moments like

[00:28:49] that in the midst of everything else.

[00:28:51] I also thought it was hilarious that we're like they were like you know what we paid for

[00:28:55] BSB?

[00:28:56] We're going to play this song through all like seven straight scenes.

[00:28:59] We paid for it.

[00:29:00] We're making sure we yeah, like we want the extended play version.

[00:29:03] So love that scene, love the song.

[00:29:06] Tell me why I ain't nothing but a heartbreak you know tell me why mistake.

[00:29:15] Mistake.

[00:29:16] Say nothing.

[00:29:17] Tell me why I'm never I've gone too long.

[00:29:20] You don't know.

[00:29:21] Listen, I never want to hear you say I wanted that way.

[00:29:24] I the scene where Dell sees him out the window and then hops on Colton and chases and

[00:29:34] cuts her off in the woods.

[00:29:36] I was so excited because I was like we're finally finally Dell is going to we're finally

[00:29:41] going to get the reveal that Dell either knows about the pond, they're going to have to

[00:29:45] fast up about what's happening frustrating and then they did it for some reason.

[00:29:50] They go back to the kitchen to have a conversation.

[00:29:54] But for that split second, I was like yes, finally, finally it's happening and that

[00:30:00] was an exciting feeling when she when she cut her off in the woods on Colton, like that

[00:30:05] was exciting for me.

[00:30:06] That was an exciting moment.

[00:30:08] Dan.

[00:30:09] Easily one of the more embarrassing parts of the show is the fact that they've not dealt

[00:30:14] with Dell and the pond yet.

[00:30:16] And I don't know how they can possibly keep surely we can't make it through the end of

[00:30:20] the season.

[00:30:21] Yeah.

[00:30:22] I think you can.

[00:30:23] No way.

[00:30:24] And also was confused as to why the paper being such a bad article was the impetus for

[00:30:30] Alice to be like, we have to tell Dell right now.

[00:30:34] Yeah.

[00:30:35] No way.

[00:30:36] Why?

[00:30:37] Because there was a bad article.

[00:30:38] Do we have to stop out of the pond?

[00:30:39] Like all of a sudden one article gets written by a high school kid and everybody loses their

[00:30:43] minds.

[00:30:44] I think it was just that they don't have a they just don't have a story for where she is.

[00:30:50] Like they have no purpose to do anything all day.

[00:30:53] Like she is on her farm.

[00:30:55] No, I'm talking about it.

[00:30:57] I'm talking about it.

[00:30:58] Like 17 episodes.

[00:31:00] She never wandered out to the pond one time.

[00:31:02] Never followed one of them out there.

[00:31:04] Not once.

[00:31:06] She's looking for her lost child.

[00:31:08] Never meandered out to the spring for a quick dip.

[00:31:11] Nothing?

[00:31:12] Like never one time in her umpteen decades of living on this land.

[00:31:19] She never was like, maybe I'll go out to the pond see all the hubbubs about.

[00:31:24] She has to know.

[00:31:25] Stop no way.

[00:31:26] That's bad too though.

[00:31:27] That is bad too.

[00:31:28] Yeah.

[00:31:29] She knows that.

[00:31:30] She knows and she's not saying anything that might be worse.

[00:31:33] It's the same thing as Jacob.

[00:31:35] It's like if it is him bad, if it's not him bad, it's like you know.

[00:31:38] But Jacob, yeah, Jacob's only been going on for about six episodes.

[00:31:42] This has been going on for decades of this show's lore.

[00:31:45] I just don't believe it.

[00:31:47] It's going to be okay.

[00:31:49] I'm getting upset about it.

[00:31:51] My favorite scene was also the first mini-mini years away from death.

[00:31:53] That's true and you know, I just don't want to see the helmet on him.

[00:31:56] He's a buddy of mine.

[00:31:57] I know.

[00:31:58] Well, but this is a but it say it's a win-win.

[00:32:01] A win we get to spend a long time with him.

[00:32:04] Also, if he dies, we get to see him in the house.

[00:32:07] We get to see him in the home.

[00:32:08] So it's a win-win.

[00:32:09] We're going to comfort everyone.

[00:32:10] It really is.

[00:32:11] It's going to be amazing.

[00:32:12] Thank you.

[00:32:13] Thank you.

[00:32:14] Backstreet boys was mine as well.

[00:32:15] The hundred-year-old Ryan in the casket held it up.

[00:32:19] That's all I want is somebody in like, you know, the year 2080.

[00:32:26] It was just 15 years old.

[00:32:29] Worst case scenario.

[00:32:30] It's going up and is like.

[00:32:32] Worst case scenario is that that's just how people are buried because of the future.

[00:32:37] And it becomes a thing.

[00:32:38] Yeah, because of the thing.

[00:32:39] Like we're in the future.

[00:32:40] Everybody wears these white helmets to get buried in.

[00:32:43] And yours isn't special.

[00:32:44] No one asks questions.

[00:32:45] It's like, oh, there's another white helmet burial.

[00:32:47] I guess it's a chance I'm willing to take because the alternative is that I go sooner than

[00:32:52] that.

[00:32:53] So yeah, it's right.

[00:32:54] You're right.

[00:32:55] Fair enough.

[00:32:56] Fair enough.

[00:32:57] Yeah, we did it.

[00:32:58] Backstreet boys.

[00:32:59] Sure.

[00:33:00] Okay, great.

[00:33:01] It's time for a break.

[00:33:02] We'll be right back here in Degno.

[00:33:03] Papa Murphy's triple pet pizza is the perfect harmony of three different types of pepperonis.

[00:33:12] All together on one delicious, taken baked pizza.

[00:33:16] Like our mini cup pepperoni.

[00:33:18] It's a little cup of crunch in every bite.

[00:33:21] And our classic pepperoni.

[00:33:22] The go-to all-time favorite pizza topping.

[00:33:25] And don't forget our giant pepperoni.

[00:33:28] It's perfect for the biggest pepperoni lovers.

[00:33:43] I'm going to say if you're going to be gone saving your brother's life for a long time,

[00:33:47] you have to have a cover story.

[00:33:49] Yes.

[00:33:50] You have to.

[00:33:51] Yeah.

[00:33:52] You and your daughter have to decide where you're going.

[00:33:54] Especially since she's literally how many times does she go on in the pond to 1814?

[00:33:59] A half dozen?

[00:34:00] At least I would say at least one more.

[00:34:02] Yeah.

[00:34:03] She is spending more time there than she's spending here.

[00:34:05] It is becoming, you live in the same house.

[00:34:08] Yeah.

[00:34:10] Yeah.

[00:34:11] They have to have a cover.

[00:34:12] But they to be fair to them, they've taken as much time on that as they have on explaining

[00:34:16] the Jacob of it all.

[00:34:18] They're not doing it.

[00:34:19] And there's some reason but they're not doing it.

[00:34:21] It's time for way what?

[00:34:23] By Brian.

[00:34:24] That's where we talking about what?

[00:34:26] Sorry.

[00:34:27] Brian left.

[00:34:28] He doesn't say goodbye.

[00:34:29] He wasn't on screen.

[00:34:31] What you got?

[00:34:32] Ryan anything make you go away?

[00:34:34] What were you watching this?

[00:34:35] I have four but the first one was touched on by both of you.

[00:34:38] I'm sure it's on all of our lists.

[00:34:39] Let's just touch on it quickly.

[00:34:40] The pick and her up in the water was genuinely one of the strangest scenes I've ever seen on.

[00:34:47] Alyssa was three quarters asleep.

[00:34:49] I watched these episodes late at night and it crashes the break and she goes, well that

[00:34:54] was bleep and weird.

[00:34:55] Well I mean like it didn't make, I don't, this isn't going to be very articulate.

[00:35:01] It didn't make any sense.

[00:35:02] Did I miss something?

[00:35:03] No.

[00:35:04] It was so bad.

[00:35:05] They're trying, it was terrible.

[00:35:07] They're trying to fast track a cat and Thomas love stories so they can create a love triangle

[00:35:14] with Elliott, Thomas and cat.

[00:35:16] And I said that for the first time that Joker appeared on screen back in episode one and

[00:35:20] they have done nothing to build any sort of foundation there.

[00:35:24] They just thought this really awkward silly scene was going to do it and it didn't.

[00:35:30] No and like it was a bummer too because like she had a pretty good acting performance in

[00:35:33] the moments leading up to him picking her up just a real mess.

[00:35:36] All right so my three proper ones this for anyone that I'm file it's a ziplock bag.

[00:35:42] This is not going to protect like this is like brand say how you can't wear jeans in

[00:35:48] the pond times of now.

[00:35:49] Ryan brought a prop and what scenario?

[00:35:52] And what scenario?

[00:35:53] And what scenario she's in on.

[00:35:55] Okay but either either like like through a hundred years of being seeing things on screen.

[00:36:02] You bring a briefcase into the water you take it out of the water.

[00:36:13] It's submerged with water with it.

[00:36:16] It is just so stupid zero for chance of success.

[00:36:21] Ryan throwing shade on ziplock right now.

[00:36:24] It's in the name zip lock that most of our house is in the next.

[00:36:31] Like Zeta's will be this like but so that really bothered me and then like I don't want to be tough

[00:36:40] because I get that you know season two is hard like I said last week I like the stuff in present day

[00:36:46] but in 1814 and I think the writing on this show is still generally really good.

[00:36:50] They literally had cats say so close yet so far on ironically near the end of this episode

[00:36:58] and like that's a bummer.

[00:37:00] That's a real bummer.

[00:37:01] And then last one I'm just going to read this out in what world or on what cell service can you decide if you want to delete your voicemail after the fact?

[00:37:09] Is that a real thing?

[00:37:10] I think when she was still leaving it you can hit start you can hit up if you're leaving a voicemail

[00:37:16] you can before you finished hanging up you can re record your voicemail.

[00:37:20] Huh that is a thing.

[00:37:21] Yeah true story.

[00:37:22] It just wouldn't have worked.

[00:37:23] It just wouldn't have worked.

[00:37:24] Yeah as you see that guys.

[00:37:25] It just wouldn't not have worked.

[00:37:27] The war between ziplock and patolla begins now.

[00:37:30] I love ziplock.

[00:37:31] I love it.

[00:37:32] All my loose action figures in ziplock are varying sizes.

[00:37:37] I wouldn't do with my friend.

[00:37:40] Such a sick braggman all the loose action all of my out of box power ranger etc.

[00:37:48] And try to go through the pond fact 200 years and not expect them to get wet.

[00:37:54] Brand I kick it to you.

[00:37:57] Thank you.

[00:37:58] First of all two ziplock first of all.

[00:38:02] And I think we all agree this.

[00:38:04] EF ziplock.

[00:38:05] Hainham.

[00:38:07] A bogus company I think you can all agree on that.

[00:38:11] All right let's get a bogus company.

[00:38:14] A bogus company.

[00:38:15] They're liars.

[00:38:16] There's a straight liars.

[00:38:19] It's not truly locked.

[00:38:21] Not truly anyone can open that thing.

[00:38:23] It's not locked at all.

[00:38:24] It's a ziplock.

[00:38:25] That's what I'm saying.

[00:38:26] It's not a padlock.

[00:38:27] Exactly right.

[00:38:28] When it mattered in this instance if it was padlocked I digress.

[00:38:31] Sorry it doesn't like.

[00:38:33] Just kidding.

[00:38:34] Can you test it real quick?

[00:38:36] No I can't I can barely swim.

[00:38:38] No I can't do that.

[00:38:39] Do it in a bathtub.

[00:38:41] Put some your put some of your loose figures in a ziplock.

[00:38:46] Zip it until it's locked.

[00:38:48] Go into your bathtub.

[00:38:49] Submerge it.

[00:38:50] Keep it underwater there for a while.

[00:38:52] And then have yourself today and let us know how it goes.

[00:38:55] We'll report back next week.

[00:38:56] We'll report back.

[00:38:57] Thank you.

[00:38:58] Yes Aaron.

[00:38:59] I'm not going to use the bathtub.

[00:39:01] You can just use the sink.

[00:39:02] The sink would be just as effective.

[00:39:04] I don't know if it's close to pond.

[00:39:06] I don't want to waste water.

[00:39:08] I don't think that what's the effect?

[00:39:10] I think the bathtub is our best bet because it's like in a pond.

[00:39:13] You're going feet down.

[00:39:15] Feet.

[00:39:16] Feet.

[00:39:17] Feet.

[00:39:18] It pulls open in three weeks.

[00:39:19] I'll do it in the pool.

[00:39:20] We'll see what happens there.

[00:39:21] It's going to be so timely.

[00:39:22] It's going to be so timely.

[00:39:23] It's going to be awesome.

[00:39:24] It's going to be awesome.

[00:39:25] It's going to be awesome for the finale.

[00:39:26] Yes, for the finale.

[00:39:27] We'll go live on social media.

[00:39:29] Mythbusters.

[00:39:30] Hey guys.

[00:39:31] Mythbusters here.

[00:39:33] We're not.

[00:39:35] That's a real program, Brian.

[00:39:37] You can't say that we're not.

[00:39:38] We're not saying Ziplock is a bogus company.

[00:39:40] They could sue you.

[00:39:41] They're not a bogus company.

[00:39:42] This is a real Mr. Beast situation.

[00:39:44] I get it man.

[00:39:45] I love Ziplock.

[00:39:46] They serve me very well.

[00:39:48] My issue is with the way home.

[00:39:49] Quit.

[00:39:50] Quit.

[00:39:51] Quit.

[00:39:52] Ryan Paul hates Ziplock.

[00:39:53] Ryan's your actin.

[00:39:54] You can't be.

[00:39:55] No.

[00:39:56] You can't be in the pocket of Ziplock.

[00:39:58] And be questioned at the same time.

[00:40:00] The smaller size is good for the loose figures.

[00:40:03] But like she tried to put a loose figure.

[00:40:05] A loose figure.

[00:40:06] Are these parts of action figures?

[00:40:08] No, they're not.

[00:40:09] They're not.

[00:40:10] They're not.

[00:40:11] They're not.

[00:40:12] I'm sorry.

[00:40:13] I'm not up to date on my action figure collectibles.

[00:40:17] You're either mint on card and it's in a packaging or it's a loose figure.

[00:40:22] And then you put it in a little bit of a baggy.

[00:40:24] Like a Ziplock.

[00:40:25] Only a little bit of one.

[00:40:26] Not a real bag, a bogus one.

[00:40:28] But those are brands where it's not mine.

[00:40:30] You get it.

[00:40:31] Bogus Ziplock.

[00:40:32] I got to clean up both of these.

[00:40:33] Speaking of the Ziplock situation.

[00:40:36] When going into the house to put all of the things in the baggy.

[00:40:42] Why change into jeans and present day clothes?

[00:40:50] Yeah.

[00:40:52] And present day clothes.

[00:40:54] When you know you're just going right back.

[00:40:56] Yeah, what are you changing into when you're back?

[00:40:58] What are you doing?

[00:40:59] Listen, I can understand maybe I wasn't wanting to change out of the white witches clothes.

[00:41:03] But if you know you're gonna be going right back.

[00:41:08] Bro, you cannot put on jeans.

[00:41:11] It is such a mistake.

[00:41:13] It is probably the biggest mistake of your life.

[00:41:16] And you will regret it immediately.

[00:41:19] But there has to be other options.

[00:41:22] There has to be other options for you to change into in a moment's notice to get out of that white witch outfit.

[00:41:29] I know those of you who are listening at home, maybe in your car are thinking this is 17 episodes in a row that Brain has brought up.

[00:41:38] And I appreciate you being patient with us.

[00:41:42] This week he's right.

[00:41:44] This week he's 100% right.

[00:41:46] She's in white witch garb.

[00:41:48] She's about to go back to 1814 where she will need to continue to be an 1814 garb.

[00:41:54] Why did she change clothes?

[00:41:57] Why did she change clothes?

[00:41:59] Didn't make any sense at all.

[00:42:00] Brain is 100% right here.

[00:42:01] Thank you.

[00:42:02] You're welcome.

[00:42:03] Thank you.

[00:42:04] Thank you.

[00:42:05] Thank you.

[00:42:06] I got one more.

[00:42:07] Thank you, Ziplock.

[00:42:09] Thank you Ziplock.

[00:42:11] When you are promo code deck.

[00:42:13] I'm a promo code bogus at check out bogus.

[00:42:15] Just everyone do their own experiments.

[00:42:18] That's right.

[00:42:19] It's all the same.

[00:42:20] Name me another Ziplock bag company.

[00:42:22] Um, hefty?

[00:42:24] Do they make them?

[00:42:25] I think they do.

[00:42:26] Plastic make plastic good boys.

[00:42:28] Plastic good boys.

[00:42:29] Up and up.

[00:42:30] Up and up.

[00:42:31] Yeah, it's a target.

[00:42:32] Target.

[00:42:33] Target.

[00:42:34] I got one more.

[00:42:35] When Alice is,

[00:42:38] when Del goes to the door to talk to Sam,

[00:42:41] after yelling at cats is like,

[00:42:43] hey, hold on.

[00:42:45] Alice goes to her mom and is trying to convince her,

[00:42:48] hey, we got to come, come clean here.

[00:42:50] And so what she says is,

[00:42:51] we have to tell Del.

[00:42:53] Del's your grandma and your mom's mom.

[00:42:57] Who calls their grandma by their first name,

[00:43:00] especially in that situation,

[00:43:01] when she never has before,

[00:43:03] we have to tell Del.

[00:43:05] If I, if I'm cat of that moment,

[00:43:07] I'm going, hold on a second.

[00:43:08] It's grandma to you first of all.

[00:43:10] Who do you think you are?

[00:43:11] I've raised you better.

[00:43:12] But also now we're not coming clean.

[00:43:14] It was a really weird time for Alice

[00:43:16] to start calling her grandma Del by her first name.

[00:43:19] Uh, Dano.

[00:43:20] I had that one.

[00:43:21] We've already touched on a lot of these.

[00:43:23] The founders day paper being this big at like,

[00:43:26] at the end of the day, it's still a local paper.

[00:43:28] Like I want to be very clear.

[00:43:30] Like it's at the,

[00:43:31] at the end of the day,

[00:43:32] this is still a local,

[00:43:34] not regional newspaper.

[00:43:36] And so yes, it was a mess.

[00:43:38] But the fact that it became a family embarrassment

[00:43:41] is crazy.

[00:43:44] Um, and then when...

[00:43:46] It shots fire against local news.

[00:43:48] Nick comes back.

[00:43:50] This is worse than the Zip Lock thing.

[00:43:52] No, no, no, no, no.

[00:43:53] Zip Lock is way worse, first of all.

[00:43:56] Thank you.

[00:43:57] Um, they, uh,

[00:44:00] Nick and Elliott go to the restaurant and their light.

[00:44:03] He's like, we gotta get out here quick.

[00:44:05] They literally never order anything.

[00:44:07] Never wants to they order a set like they walk in

[00:44:10] and he's like, I want one of these sandwiches.

[00:44:12] He never orders it.

[00:44:13] They do.

[00:44:14] They, they, he walks right up to the counter

[00:44:15] to talk to Alice and they talk to each other

[00:44:17] and then Alice brings them their food.

[00:44:19] I think he orders the sandwich and the drink.

[00:44:22] He, I thought he was talking to Elliott on the way in.

[00:44:24] I think we could go somewhere else to eat.

[00:44:26] And he's like, no, I want one of these sandwiches

[00:44:28] and then they walk up to the counter with Alice.

[00:44:30] They ordered two Alice.

[00:44:32] I don't think it's really order.

[00:44:34] All right, if you use where they did, then I, I could be wrong.

[00:44:36] After they order,

[00:44:37] they have a quick like 20 second conversation

[00:44:40] and then she immediately has the food.

[00:44:42] Well, then Elliott's like, where's our food?

[00:44:44] And I remember thinking, come down.

[00:44:46] You just ordered 20 seconds ago.

[00:44:48] Yeah.

[00:44:49] Well, either way that scene doesn't make a lot of sense.

[00:44:51] If they've ordered not, if they did, then I was just wrong about that.

[00:44:53] But they don't, like, they get up to the counter

[00:44:55] and it's like, we're out of here like this.

[00:44:57] Like nobody's business.

[00:44:59] Thomas and Kat have to hide from what's his name's man

[00:45:03] that are looking for him?

[00:45:05] And they, Cyrus, Cyrus, as Cyrus told when we all know,

[00:45:07] of course he's a big deal.

[00:45:09] And they duck behind a tree.

[00:45:13] It is out in the middle of the,

[00:45:19] like you, the worst man hunt would find them.

[00:45:23] They, you, in fact, we see a camera angle of under the tree.

[00:45:27] So literally it's a tree on the ground.

[00:45:30] Imagine how useful a tree is to hide behind when it's straight up in the air.

[00:45:33] It's on the ground and there's space under it and over it.

[00:45:38] For them, and it's like a half dozen dudes walking through the forest.

[00:45:42] None of them see either one of them at all.

[00:45:47] Not, not, not, not their hide nor hair.

[00:45:49] They don't see them at all.

[00:45:50] And then lastly, I'm so trying to figure out this little nugget

[00:45:56] that Thomas tells Kat, this little just piece of wisdom

[00:46:00] is the smartest or dumbest thing I've ever heard.

[00:46:03] I don't know which.

[00:46:06] And here's what he says.

[00:46:08] The distance, whether it be from stars or people,

[00:46:12] isn't what you should be worried about.

[00:46:15] Worried when you can't find them at all.

[00:46:21] So I think, I think he's saying like sometimes you're far away from things

[00:46:29] but they can still help you.

[00:46:31] Like the stars can lead the way.

[00:46:32] But if you were to look up and see no stars, then you would worry.

[00:46:36] And if you were to look up and see no people,

[00:46:41] you would also probably worry at that point.

[00:46:44] No ziplocs.

[00:46:46] No ziplocs.

[00:46:47] That's a world where ziplocs didn't exist.

[00:46:49] Man, we're all be a lot more than bogus, you know what I mean?

[00:46:53] It's time for Sink or Swim.

[00:46:55] It's where we will do a little Sink and do a little Swim and everything in between.

[00:47:02] Right?

[00:47:04] Thanks, Brandon.

[00:47:06] So to Dan's point, I also think that Nick was relatively speaking wrapped up pretty well,

[00:47:14] much like in a ziploc in season one.

[00:47:17] Airtight.

[00:47:18] Yeah, airtight storyline.

[00:47:20] And then threw him right back in the pond.

[00:47:22] However, so I will say that this is a history maker for here for us here on the way home recap

[00:47:27] because this went from a Sink to a Swim during the episode.

[00:47:31] I was thinking on the fact that I was like, you know what?

[00:47:34] We all loved season one.

[00:47:36] And we probably all overlook the fact that Alice Elliott cat they all have vivid memories of Alice.

[00:47:44] But Nick does not remember her enough to think that it's a different person in present day.

[00:47:49] We all probably should have been a little tougher on that last season.

[00:47:52] 100% yes.

[00:47:53] Doesn't make a ton of sense when you think about it in context.

[00:47:56] However, so I was like, oh, that's a Sink.

[00:47:58] But then at least by the end of the episode for better or worse, they are going to revisit the fact that now he's like, oh, wait, I do know this person.

[00:48:05] So it became a swim, but it's also convoluted because should we even be doing that?

[00:48:10] So make of that what you will.

[00:48:12] I don't think that was a Sink or Swim.

[00:48:15] Yeah, I think it was swing.

[00:48:17] It was in everything in between.

[00:48:20] That's right.

[00:48:21] My Sink is I am increasingly concerned.

[00:48:28] We're not going to get any more dirt and I know I know people might be saying brand brand.

[00:48:34] You you grossly overestimated the importance of that one line in episode one of the season.

[00:48:40] And you might be right.

[00:48:42] You might be right.

[00:48:43] This might be on me, but at the end of the day, I'm just concerned.

[00:48:49] I don't want to be made a fool.

[00:48:51] I made that pretty clear throughout my journey here in the homework that I never want people to think that I dumb or that I don't have it or that I'm just

[00:49:03] You've made that clear.

[00:49:04] I made it clear.

[00:49:05] Okay.

[00:49:06] And so I am hoping to God, oh my goodness, that they do bring back up the dirt.

[00:49:15] At this point, I don't even know if I really like want them to for the sake of the story.

[00:49:19] So much as I do, I've made a big deal about it.

[00:49:22] And so I'm concerned in that regard.

[00:49:24] I do just want to say, I just want to say real quick that maybe no worse indictment on the state of the show is that in season one,

[00:49:31] Sink or Swim was pretty much exclusively for his Elliott a villain and now in season two,

[00:49:35] It's what does the dirt mean?

[00:49:37] Yeah, we got we're it's we're full grasping his choice.

[00:49:40] Well, there's not enough Elliott anymore.

[00:49:43] There's no I'm just say it's not even about Elliott here in air.

[00:49:46] I'm just like we here's where the things we were focused on season one.

[00:49:49] Yes, but here are the things we are focused on about all the long like the threads

[00:49:54] We were excited about in season one they all had some juice.

[00:49:57] They all had some merit.

[00:49:58] It was like does Del know about this?

[00:50:01] Where he is when is Jacob?

[00:50:03] Can they change the past?

[00:50:06] When will Alice when will Kat know about the pond for a while only Alice do about it?

[00:50:11] All of these and then this season it's just like can we just can we be done with it?

[00:50:18] And I hate that and that is really my sink is that like I'm just starting to think the show is not going to recover.

[00:50:24] I'm starting to think that we're going to get think about all of the substantial stuff that happened in season one.

[00:50:31] Think about like from a standpoint of like going through the entirety of Colton's deaths

[00:50:36] and like all those things like of character building and then the therapy and all of that.

[00:50:41] The thing with Jacob and then her getting over Jacob and what that entails.

[00:50:46] And this season it has just been like she can't talk to Jacob because if you heard about herbs,

[00:50:51] have you heard about the Delirium fever?

[00:50:55] Have you heard about oh he's passed out there's nothing we can...

[00:50:59] I'm just now I'm just bummed because I don't think the show is going to recover.

[00:51:04] I don't think we're getting a better television show. I think this is the show and at this point

[00:51:09] the best thing I hope for is a punt and a rebranding next year. That's the best we got.

[00:51:14] If we get a chance to talk to them at some point the creators,

[00:51:18] as we're now seven episodes in and it looks like it's him and I know we got a wrap.

[00:51:22] I would be most curious why did they feel they needed to make Jacob an adult?

[00:51:27] You know, there would still be a lot of other problems with brand new touch on this last week.

[00:51:32] It's like I think a lot of this would be solved if it was kid Jacob since we were invested in kid Jacob.

[00:51:39] There's no real story reason as to why he had to be a 20-some.

[00:51:43] I have an idea, it's because the first season did this great, wistful thing where it's like you can't change the past.

[00:51:49] All you can do is like appreciate it, learn from it, move forward and I think them making Jacob older

[00:51:56] is their way of trying to do both of those things is to go, we can bring Jacob back home

[00:52:01] but they still lost his childhood. They didn't get the childhood.

[00:52:04] I think that's what they're trying to do is set up a world where they can continue to stand on that ground of

[00:52:11] hey, you still can't change the past but also you can because we're going to bring him home.

[00:52:16] I think that's why they did it.

[00:52:19] We did everybody congratulations. Three episodes left.

[00:52:22] Three left.

[00:52:23] Three left.

[00:52:24] And then when it calls the heart.

[00:52:25] That's right.

[00:52:26] I'm in London next week, Braille.
