I'm going to continue to do it, but thanks for the input I'm not going to do it, I won't do it for Christmas movies

Christmas or birthday or anything like that No, birthday just happened But yeah, I have a rough draft of a Christmas list I thought you might, because I know you love gifts I know that at Christmas time you want a lot of little gifts You want to open them up I want to know, you are also I also have a great gift giver We don't talk about enough here Well, we're not going to start today

[00:02:23] You're also getting married this year And you're going to be getting a lot of gifts for that So I want to know, like, how are you beginning to process what life might look like post-marriage And how that might change what Christmas might look like Specifically this year Your wedding Well, it's an interesting question I mean, I would imagine you guys could tell me You both have gone through your nuptial process That Three times The nuptial process Yeah, yeah, of course One time

[00:02:53] One time I imagine I imagine primarily that we, the collective Alyssa and I Will probably just get a lot of cash gifts Yes Yeah, or off of your registry The days of the blender are Unless you register for one and give people a registry Right, we've worked together for a couple years So I don't, like, we haven't necessarily done that yet But I don't think we're going to need a lot of That is true, they always say if you're already living in sin Just give money It's easier That's the same, you know, that's what they say So Yeah Yeah, yeah

[00:03:22] So I don't know how that will impact I mean, what we I mean, we have to plan a honeymoon and what have you But yes, Bran, I have started This is a tough spot you're putting me in, Bran Because I Because it's May and no self Like, no good adult has thought about this shit It's good to look ahead If you're forcing me to pull back the curtain once again Rye and I have already talked about this So I may have known that Rye guy is already working on his Christmas list

Like, so We get each other three I think I've talked about this before We get each other three, like, really big gifts Goldfrank is a smurr I think we already talked about that, yes She's a smurr Yes Yeah, it's really I mean, it's rooted in the meaning of the day And then nine smaller gifts To twelve gifts of Christmas And we can talk about the ins and outs of that We'll get closer to the winter solstice But I

[00:05:47] Three $100 bills At the reception Because that's how he always did things He waited till no one was around He got his wallet out He had planned accordingly But would have never told you He acted like it was just a random thing And he gave me $300 That is how I paid For the hotel in Charlotte Without that money I still don't know how I would have paid For the hotel in Charlotte I assume my dad or someone was covering it They were not That is how I paid for that When we got back From an all expenses paid All inclusive trip I was like, alright Next paycheck comes in on Friday

[00:06:17] That's literally how we're gonna make it When we get back to the The apartment It was like Real Christmas morning Like needed The amount of cash in there Was quad digits, right? And that was 20 years ago I can imagine A wedding of the size That you're talking about You're going to be in For thousands of dollars Now Real quick It's important for me to interrupt you I wanna make it clear Because At no point in this The text conversation with Bran Had I said By the way We're gonna get a lot of money From the wedding And I think that's gonna help me

[00:06:46] Score this Christmas gift Sometimes I come very poorly In these anecdotes No No My question is When you guys get back Cause you guys have separate You've lived together first You have separate bank Like Yeah When my wife and I got this money We had our bank One bank account With double digit dollars in it And it all just went in there Right? You guys have careers I was 22 when I got married You're almost 15 years older than that Like you have careers You have lives You have your own bank account Your own thing going on And that's awesome

[00:08:14] Specifically for the Batman Lego game Oh okay See I want it for Star Fox Yes But Star Fox I would get some Star Fox as well Now I They get allowance every week for me For my wife and I And same bank account And so They came out one day And brought both of their money boxes And they poured it all on the table And they're like We're buying a Switch 2 today And I knew they didn't have near enough money So they counted up This thing's expensive It's crazy And so they counted up their money And it was double digit dollars

[00:08:42] And I said you can't do it It's this much And they got real discouraged Very Anywhere even remotely close It was not even halfway there It was like $50 Double digits Oh okay Okay sorry I heard triple digits Yeah no double digits Okay And so They You could tell they wanted to quit And I said you know what guys If you will do this I will match you dollar for dollar So every dollar that you save Try that with Alyssa Every dollar that you save I will put in a dollar towards the Switch Now I also know So what I told them was

[00:09:12] Is you gotta raise $225 That's what I told them Right Which by the This is for Christmas Or just whenever they do it This is whenever they do it Oh they can do this easy So they're They're currently up to $128 Oh we're there And their birthday's next week And so They're pretty much there Which is crazy Donations count right They don't have Donations count If you donated money to them right now They would You would make their year The problem is I got them a really nice 3D printer For their birthday And if they get a Switch 2 as well There's never There's no recovering Cause I didn't think

[00:09:42] They were gonna raise it this fast But they are working Very very hard To get a Switch 2 They're in it But they got They have a don't They have a matcher They have an angel giver So like you're in it Did you cap it? If I give them like $100,000 You gotta match that No no Just $225 So they have to raise $225 Not that I have $100,000 lying around But I do like it as a bit I do think there's something to that That's funny But at this point If someone were to give We'll take out a loan If someone were to give them Get back for the Feeny thing Yeah

[00:10:10] If someone were to give them $93 right now I would be in it I would have to go Right After purchasing them A more than I wanted to spend 3D printer I would have to go and get them a Switch How nice of a 3D printer Not to change topics But there's some Power Ranger stuff I need 3D printed It's a toy box But it's the nicest toy box It's a brand Okay I don't think it's that level It's four kids It's four children Okay so like if I wanted to 3D print like a helmet It's not No it was $500

[00:10:39] It's not like a crazy one Right Just ask Yeah but they It has an app and it has all the different types All the different colors And they can just put the thing They can literally Add that to the list though Like while you're Yeah While you're doing it While you're asking for expensive gifts Yes Throw a 3D printer So no I did So but what's cool about Dan Your situation is like You'll get used out of this Switch too Yeah You'll get used out of it The other thing that I'm not telling them And this I think is above board is Is I can take the Switch one to GameStop And get $90 for it Yeah so you're like You're down to like $145 That's right

[00:11:08] So my match is including the trade-in Right So like I'm not I'm not fully So like if they earn $225 They're not going to call you out on this And bring it to court Then they get We'll cover it We'll gavel gavel It's really $315 And so then I'm out like $135 And I have three aftermarket controllers That will work Four aftermarket controllers Oh so yeah right That will already work on the Switch too So you're good to go Yes Yeah Lego Batman already out Lego Batman is already out It's $60, $70 Who's buying that game? I will buy the game as well And that will not come out of the room

[00:11:38] But then I mean like If that's really what they wanted You can just ride You can just ride the Lego Batman train for a while They don't need another game anytime soon All the Switch games still Oh that's right Yeah Rinse wash repeat That's right So they got Oh there's a new Ninja Turtles They love the Ninja Turtles The arcade style Ninja Turtle game Yeah yeah yeah That one Shredder's Revenge We play all the time Incredible game Incredible game And I hear the one on Switch 2 Is even better Splinter or something It is I hear it's even better That's what it's called Splinter They ran out of the good ideas That's actually the name of this Way Home episode Splinter something Yeah

[00:15:02] About what's been going on Okay Alice is trying to I'm sorry Cat is trying to Snag the almanac When Cliff comes in And is like What are you doing In my house Dell Tells the Fellas to scram So that she can talk To the ghost Of her dead husband She's like You're not real And he's like Feels pretty real To me Okay Cat tells Nick To keep the Augie boys occupied While she goes Looking for Fern She goes to the paper

[00:15:31] Doesn't find Fern But does find a copy Of Alice in Wonderland And inside It is inscribed With a message From Auntie Coop Could it be Fern Cooper Yeah I think it could be Grayson is there Though And is like Hey I feel like We should get to Know each other It seems like Fern Trust you a lot He tells Her about Auntie Coop And she's not Actually a part Of the family Very close to Fern Even though She travels A lot

[00:16:01] She goes to leave But hears Grayson Talk on the phone Yelling Get rid of her Loudly Yeah loud Alice and Elliot Jump in the pond And end up in the 70s Where Elliot lays Eyes on his mom They follow her back To see Colton sad Because they lost The baby They start talking And he hears His mom say That she's ready To be a mom And he's like Oh my gosh She's talking about me

[00:16:30] Julian comes over To ask Del out Now that things are Off between her and Sam Del ends up Going to check On her horse And talk more To Colton She ends up Running after him In a cornfield Where she faints Del goes Sam goes out To find Del Finds her She's concussed Everybody In case that wasn't clear Elliot Sees his mom

[00:16:59] Put a couple of Evelyn's Torah cards In her dress And then head inside Then his dad Shows up He ends up Talking to his Dad's younger self And hearing about How he was hoping That one day He could be a great father And blah blah blah Cat and Nick Go to where the Augie boys Told Nick Their hideout was They hear that Grayson Sent Fern Away And that Coop Better not show Herself around

[00:17:29] Here again Alice goes To talk to Del And sees how sad She is without Jacob So she tries To call him And then Del's Like just sleeping Cat and Nick Run away From the Augie boys As they're heading Towards the pond Fern is back Everybody Cat confronts her About Auntie Coop And Fern is like Finally You are asking The right questions Although I feel like She's asked that question Before but whatever They ask about

[00:17:59] What happened to Coop Before she can give Much of an answer The Augie boys show up They run into the pond And for a second It looks like Nick Is going to get stuck In the 20th scene Instead of making it In the pond No problem Alice Checks on Del again She won't wake up Suddenly Jacob shows up And is calling Out to her She hears his voice In the dream Colton tells her That it's time for Her to go back And be with her son again Cat wakes up Cat shows up And they're all together As a family As Del comes to

[00:18:28] Elliot though Ends up leaving Grabbing Cat's keys On the way out So that he can go Into the archives And try to find More answers About where his mom Might be And that my friends Was The Way Home Season 4 Episode 5 Don't cry out loud We did it Are you okay That's a good cry But Rye Don't cry out loud What like Come on man Do your best To not cry out loud Follow the instructions Okay you ready Ready

[00:19:27] Apparently they didn't know They didn't know This was the last season When they were working That's brutal I gotta be honest My heart shattered for them But also Makes the love triangle Make sense Yes Out of nowhere Let's get to our thoughts On this We're gonna start With a hot ticket So we're gonna share Exactly how we found About this episode I'll start with you Ryguy Yeah there was some yucks In the 20s With Nick And the absurdity Good yucks Like laughter yucks Okay Yeah I like You know it was fine

[00:19:56] But there have been Other types of yuck With Nick There have been other yucks Yes Yeah that was Freudian The absurdity Of the Julian stuff Continued to work for me But then they totally Seemingly resolved it In the same episode I actually really liked Gabriel Hogan here Playing against type Than his usual Christmas There Diminishing returns On Kat Going to jail And they just can't Get me to care About Elliot

[00:20:26] Even though the scene With his dad In the past Was quite nice As was the scene Between Del and Jacob But if it sounded Like I was just Kind of yada yada yada Between and through all that It's because I was One Because the season Is yada yada yada But two Also because There are two big things I want to talk about here The first is what Bran just mentioned Which is that It seems like A chunk Of this season If not more than A chunk of it Was filmed Without them having Any idea that This would be The final season To Dan's point Again We haven't loved

[00:20:56] The last couple seasons But that's a bummer These people have worked Very very hard on the show They clearly had A five season vision Even if we don't Like that vision That stinks However also We as an audience now Especially the three of us As an audience Who have not liked These last couple seasons Are now looking at a scenario After a season three finale Which we thought Although imperfect I really enjoyed And thought could have been A good series finale I don't know Whether they had Days Weeks Whatever To find a way To wrap up These clearly Storylines That they were not

[00:21:26] Intending to be The end game Of the show To now have to be End game Of the show We're looking at Potentially A very very rough Last couple episodes Specifically A very rough Series finale That was never Unfortunate level Of rough series finale Right Somewhat not their fault But also Could just really be rough My bigger thing This is why I didn't want to spend Too much time On anything else

[00:21:56] This really made me mad There was a moment Episode In this episode Brand that really Really made me mad Because four seasons Later I'm still foggy What did it make you? Lad Made me My lad Brand It made me My lad It made me very upset Top of the morning To you Are you sad Or are you mad? Yeah He's lad And the rest of the day To you Four seasons later Four years later I think legitimately When did the show

[00:22:25] Debut brand 2022 23 I think it's been What a year 23 24 25 26 23 Okay that's right Yep The kid actor Who plays Jacob Looks relatively The same Yeah Now this might not Seem like a big deal You might be going Oh cool They brought back Kid Jacob For this episode And they did a flashback And to go to 2024 Season 2 All of us went Alright we don't like That Jacob Is now an adult But maybe they did it Because

[00:22:55] Kid Jacob Isn't gonna look The same Because he's growing In his life And that emotional Beat Is gonna hit And now they couldn't Have known this right I understand that But That might But We all would agree That Unequivocally Even if you love This show Even if you Think that we're The dumbest folks On the planet We all would agree That the stronger Story beat And emotional moment Would have been For Kat To find

[00:23:25] Young Jacob Whether it be The 1800s Or whatever Right And this kid Looks relatively The same Well Is it not possible That everything Like all They already had All this footage Of him Like You think they're Using old footage No This is No No Are you Did you watch No There's no way That would be An impressive amount Of old footage They're bringing This kid in What's he doing It's a flashback Scene with With clearly Papa Landry Is a

[00:23:54] 2026 Look He's But what's The kid doing In the episode What is the kid Answer the question He's saying mom Okay Wake up mom Right Yeah Yeah Brand This was a scene Filmed I mean I would Love to get The There's just no World I don't think Where they had A scene The technological Advancement That they would Have to be Doing to make That happen Or they Happen to have A scene From four years Ago That they Didn't use That would be

[00:24:24] The other option That's hard For me to believe I had to go back And take it A tape I didn't see Anything in This episode That I think Necessarily has To be new Footage Of the kid Oh I thought It was the kid I think that You can use Old footage No Of him Running around And what not And put him In new stuff I just know The scene of him On the porch Or wherever they are In this episode And they viewed him Several times last season With clearly newly shot Scenes from the 90s I don't want to belabor This point I'm just saying For the show To like

[00:24:53] They just They could have just There was such a better way The show could have Still stunk But like If they had just stuck My biggest problem With this show And I know I said Last week I wouldn't keep Bringing this up But like The biggest problem With this show Is they had one Clear objective In the middle of season 2 Or by the end of it To reunite Jacob With his family And that wasn't good And uncoincidentally to me The rest of the show Hasn't been very good Since For them to Brandon

[00:25:23] Unless you're right And they couldn't Have known this But like The kid Looks and sounds Relatively the same We could have At least done that Really makes me mad You could be right But I doubt it So we are Watching this early And so this episode Doesn't have its stuff Out yet on IMDB But This does say He was in The finale Of last season As a new actor Yeah they have shot New stuff with this kid That's not necessarily If you're using Old footage of him Stuff that was shot

[00:25:53] They gotta pay him still They gotta pay him Or at least give him credit But Brandon No offense I really don't wanna be I really don't wanna be Hard on the creators here Because again These people were really hard But you really think That this show Which has had inconsistency After inconsistency At the foresight To film Abundance of extra footage With this kid Four years ago What I am saying Is I will go back And I will look I don't feel like I have seen anything Since season one Potentially early on

[00:26:22] In season two Of stuff That couldn't have Already been shot It's a lot of Running around It's a lot Like Which you can take If you have Shots Of him running You can then take that And put it where You need it to be You're not wrong I just think We're giving the show We're giving the show A lot of credit To say that they had All of this footage I think That's my problem Is I don't think You're wrong That it could happen I just think That's What's more realistic That the kid Looks

[00:26:52] That a growing Child Looks the same He doesn't look The exact same He doesn't look The exact same But it's close Which the show Couldn't have known My only point Is saying that Four years later Two years ago They could have Just done The moment That we were all Expecting Remember when Adult Jacob Shows up Two years ago All three of us Bozos Were like That can't be The real Jacob They couldn't Possibly screw This up And not have The cathartic Emotional moment He does look Like a little man That is his

[00:27:21] IMDB photo And then Try to Try to Pull up What he looks Like on the On the bench But Brian You would agree That it was A creative Miss To not Do that Two years ago And now to keep Bringing him back Now for Less meaningful And less impactful Scenes Is like Diminishing Returns Yes It is a Creative Mistake Yeah If they have If they Could have Used this Kid more

[00:27:51] They could have The entire First season They could have Dragged that out Longer than Yes Absolutely And also I'm not Defending Didn't we Realize that The dog Is going into The pond At the end Of season One Oh yeah What happened With the dog Where is the dog Where is the dog I don't remember Are you I'm shooting Me right now Somebody's yelling At their radio Right now So I'm sure There's something At some point That gave us But why have we Not heard anything About the dog Where is the dog It's possible When is the dog It's possible

[00:28:20] They have said Something about the dog And we missed it Alright No not us Also one last thing Sorry There's clearly Now knowing That this is the finale And they had no intention We're never going to Find out why the pond Why the Landry's That will never get covered No There's only five And if we do It'll be bad It'll be real bad Yeah I've liked this season Overall This episode Was a bit of a miss For me I did feel like Most everything That they do In this particular episode As far as moving The storylines along

[00:28:48] Was not how I would Have wanted it to happen And that's a bit frustrating Dano Yeah I would say that A lot happens In this episode And none of it Is important Like there's going to Be a lot of people Who are like No no no It's important But like Our critique this whole time Is why are you telling Us a new story Like you wrapped up What you need to wrap up And now you're telling Us a new story That we now know Heartbreakingly Isn't what the creators Wanted And that sucks And it sounds like Hallmark did them wrong And that sucks But

[00:29:18] You doing more things Doesn't make it better It just makes it more Like Nick going back In time with Kat I thought for sure There had to be a reason Nick wanted to go I just Like in my head I was like This is going to matter Nick is going to go back For a very specific reason Whether it's He's nefarious Or whether it's He does help Kat Or whether it's There's got to be a reason That he

[00:29:47] Just wormed his way Into going It isn't It isn't It's just stupid And the actors Are all fine It's just Stupid Why is he going back In time with her Is it I When he was like I'll keep you safe That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard She time travels Once a day This guy can't tie his shoes Kat has time traveled Like so many times And yet That is the plot of this Now does a lot happen Yeah
