[00:01:11] I do just want to people are asking so many questions obviously one. What are we doing here today? the the real answer the real real real is

[00:01:26] We had an interview that fell through so we had to fill this time and we figured what better way to do that Let me talk about the way home

[00:01:32] But what I'm going to say is we're gonna preview The Way Home season two course we are in a way that we only know How which is with concrete facts and? With laws of show prep. That's right

[00:01:44] But first Ryan have you heard about decommed descendants the podcast that is starting a week from today on the brain with I'm podcast network not to be confused with brink and drink. You know what you're talking about Through through proper channels, and that's all I know

[00:02:03] Ryan how many of these have you seen Disney Channel original movies? Yes. Yeah, the decommes for short at least You know 30 to 50. I would have like you know, yeah

[00:02:15] It's like you know I but Dan by you know by oh a by the time high school musicals hitting its stride I was out but I've since seen the high school musicals, but

[00:02:25] From 98 to 06 I was there. Yeah, I was now have you seen the first two under wraps and You lucky dog Cameron I have not seen under wraps. Did you know it's not on Disney Plus? Yes, we address this in episode one. Yes

[00:02:42] Yeah, and then I don't believe I've seen the dog one But there's another dog movie that I but no I have not seen those brink is the beginning of the ink on the beginning That's exactly paper gate, but it's that that's a whole depth another

[00:02:54] Can I tell you my my two big fears about decommed descendants? And then we'll talk about the way home number one We are out of the gate after those first two like Mulligan's with brink which is both brand and your favorite

[00:03:08] Decom and I just I'm worried I always get nervous. I never get nervous about being critical of a movie I always get nervous when it's clearly personal to someone and I am clearly not trying to be personal

[00:03:22] Well, cuz it's like when we started this podcast like I gave you the first movie It wasn't like my favorite. Yeah, like I don't even know if I had seen Rocky Mountain Christmas the year prior I'm tossing out right out of the gate right out of the gate

[00:03:33] We're gonna like you gotta do these two feel like Working away in five or six seven eight bad ones and then get to brink You know and the second thing I'm worried about is is that it seems and Aaron can correct me if I'm wrong

[00:03:46] But it seems that all three of you who are all I think within a two-year age range of each golden Yeah, I think that you guys all Love decoms and by that you mean the decoms from brink to high school musical and so correct my neck

[00:04:04] No, no, okay, maybe not Aaron Aaron kept watching I kept watching Okay Because I think what's gonna happen is is if we hit our stride and the podcast is a lot of fun

[00:04:14] We've already recorded two episodes so it's a blast, but we're gonna get to a point where You're there's not gonna be any excitement anymore from these two which is very important

[00:04:25] Dan I don't know if I'm on it or not. Sorry. I apologize if I'm talking out of school I reached out to Aaron said I need to be on the brink episode and then I kid you not a listen

[00:04:33] I were driving around that I turned to a listen. I said Dan's gonna make fun of this movie and I don't know what I'm gonna say to him in return

[00:04:40] I don't want to go on brink. I hope I am but if I don't I actually feel like it may be saving our friendship But just become grand Yeah, no, no, I love you. I love you like a brother brand looked at me in the face and said

[00:04:51] I don't know if we if you say something bad about this movie I don't know if you can keep doing this at like Like and I and I like I think you're gonna like it. I'm not being

[00:05:04] Facetious here. I've never met a soul that doesn't like brink. It's an incredible film I don't know a soul How many of you asked though, Brian? Have you asked anybody over 37 or under 27 that question? I don't know. Yeah after under 27. Yes, I have okay. All right

[00:05:24] The one thing I'll say the family I don't talk to old people so I don't know man, but like Sorry, Brian the famous Alonzo quote wasn't great or were you a I was a but I've watched its subsequent times as an adult

[00:05:37] Exactly. I said it that way on it is great But and it's great. Here's the thing your mature now You're gonna love the show because the show has a segment where we talk about is the movie still awesome over

[00:05:49] Has it remained great over time or was it great back then but over time? It's actually not held up We have a segment of the show that's all about over time. It's called overtime It's what it's called the oh

[00:06:05] I have a fun little to bit that ties together Decum descendants and the way home Find out that brink is in season two of the way home, I will Lose my mind. I don't know that I will lose my mind if we're talking about Eric Vonda and

[00:08:35] Yes, keep on sky and the McDowell played Dell Okay, all right here. We get here's what I want to do first is I want to try the best that we can as Three fellas who have and I'll be honest not thought about this show since finale

[00:08:54] We did the draft brand we did the draft we did do the draft and that was charged. That was hard too And Something I don't know man charging. I have a hard time remembering just about everything and so This is a challenge

[00:09:13] For me to remember what happened. So I would like at least collectively I think we can come up with a pretty good idea of what happened in season one and then I think that will then

[00:09:25] Spark the memories of oh, yeah, I was thinking back then that would be cool if in season two blank happened And we can throw those things out there What we're not gonna do is we're not gonna read every synopsis

[00:09:38] Our season two because I think part of the fun of of what we do is was we don't know that's right last year I don't know if you guys remember but we went into episode one not knowing it was a time trial show

[00:09:49] So our minds were pretty freaking blown right out of the cave I have not watched a single trailer for season two That's yeah, that's right and that isn't that is due entirely in part I Pick it up pick it up that is due Thanks

[00:10:11] Entirely in part to yours like you Filo filo TV there one button at skip Makes it to where we're watching the homework movies Right back into it. No commercial. That is entirely in part That is somewhat all together That's right, that's right

[00:10:41] This is why homework recently did a marathon of all the episodes. Thanks Lisa. What do you want us to do Lisa? Catherine has a daughter named Alice yes and a mom named Delilah okay, Lila Call her del that's right del that's exactly right so cats and Alice

[00:11:05] We're having a tough time and they move back and they're gonna live with that's right then okay Alice goes into it We have it starts with we see somebody jump into a pond. That's right. That's right. Yeah, that's right

[00:11:16] The the white go white which what the white way? Yeah white way white ghost racist Gosh man So then in Modern day Alice finds the pond goes back in time and it's when cat is her age So then we see yes

[00:11:41] so Alice and cat are hanging out and their BFFs and Teenage cat doesn't know that that's actually her daughter from the future And then that is when her dad is still alive cats that are grand and still a Colton. Yes, so

[00:11:54] As we move forward the things that I know that happened by the NWR we see and and and Cats brother cats brother They they have both they both died when when cat was a kid

[00:12:10] And so yes, so Jacob and Colton were there that's been a lot of a central part of the grief and and We couldn't find Jacob so we don't know that he died. He went right. That's right. Yeah

[00:12:23] Yeah, take it to that and then we see over time how that unravels them in 1990 whatever I loved dude the fact that you did take it to the house and not me makes me very happy

[00:12:33] Six years. Yeah, that's right six years. I've been making that joke. You still don't know who sang the song Am I a yeah is name of the the band is trick daddy if you can believe it

[00:12:43] That is a band take it to the house. I know rapper. Yeah. Yeah, yeah trick daddy. Yeah, yeah trick daddy Take it with one man. Yeah, we'll be man. We don't play

[00:12:51] So the the grief of losing Jacob takes its toll on everyone back in the 90s and so the one You know, I think is it it's Colton the one who is going to the grief counseling stuff

[00:13:03] And then Dale doesn't really give up that he's not still out there. Is that accurate? Yeah Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, and she thinks that he's having some sort of like a fair. Let's try Yeah, yeah, and then Alice also gets to meet her dad as a teenager

[00:13:19] Who's who's a teenager at when she he starts dating? Cap correct and so we see that relationship because there's also the one character everyone cares about That I can't think of his name. He's Elliot Elliot who's

[00:13:33] Secretly as we all know here on this podcast the villain man is he is a villain He's the only guy that knows everything in both timelines. It's right Because he was he he as a kid What? Alice told him that's right, right?

[00:13:52] And so he's the one setting up when to come like he knows when she's gonna come back Yeah Like in the future He knows when she's gonna go back in time and in the past he knows he gets to experience all that way

[00:14:03] I know what you know. That's right. And I know you know that I'm not telling the truth yeah, and and and they have a Cat and Elliot have a pretty big kiss and then decide not to date, right?

[00:14:16] Yeah, he's do something out. He says he's leaving town. That's right. We don't even know if he's in this leave in town I don't know if he's in the news. Yeah, he's season the two season the two exactly You understand it good

[00:14:28] And he knows everything from both timelines, but at this point has not been revealed to be a villain We also have an old guy who runs the newspaper and archives Yeah, that we think is Jacob that's correct

[00:14:41] But he is an old guy and then he and Dell have something but yeah, and then he For all the money in the world. What's his name? Okay, oh You're you're a volume. Yeah, you're got so excited at all your volume just went away. It's gone

[00:15:00] It's gone went out on he's Jacob and hasn't been back since He's so sad Try to describe what Ryan's saying. Yeah You're saying his name Nope briefly you were back talk now It's when you get really excited it scares the computer scares it

[00:15:22] Like the idea of Dell and growing up Jacob being together a lot like that. Yes that guy's name though in the show is mr. Rafferty is Camp grammars is hand grammars camp camp Graham. Oh, I can't grammars. I'll tell you that much Ryan what's his name?

[00:15:41] I said Roy but that wasn't I don't think that's right Byron Byron it's by actually Lord Byron of course. Yeah Did I miss the part about the lobster social? Bob Byron Byron and Elliot both leave at the end of this season, correct?

[00:15:59] That was a big and then there's one episode that is riveting They're all riveting but one episode like one of the probably top 15 episodes of television on this year where they're at The carnival. Yeah, and she thinks she follows Jacob all the way home because

[00:16:15] Adults cats that's right follows it goes back all those hours as if I can just follow Jacob home I can make sure you're safe. So I will introduce myself I will help him get home make sure I watch him correct go inside the house

[00:16:30] Yes, and then she runs back to the water and and then I'll go ahead But but with it's clear it didn't work. She gets back and she's still going down But cat also then goes and tries to save her father

[00:16:41] Yes, she does not learn the lesson that you cannot change things and in going back to save her father She actually causes her father's accident. It's true correct. Yeah, cuz her and Alice were in the middle

[00:16:51] The blue you caused the thing butterfly whatever you caused it the time loop That's right Exactly right. It's the reading rainbow effect Yeah, the reading rainbow effect and then she's in that grief thing with him for a while

[00:17:04] And then he still dies and the in the last episode it's his funeral and they're all there But they're watching from afar I believe and then we find out at the very end along with Elliot leaving and Byron has left already that Jacob

[00:17:18] Found the pond. Yes, we found a Jacob found the pond So he's not dead He's somewhere in time and then a that happened and be the white witch was cat Correct, okay But all indications the shows creators have said as much. Yeah, I mean the last scene is

[00:17:42] The last thing is the reveal she's cat and then we give the first episode. They're like she's not cat But I don't remember like why how did we figure out that Jacob did jump in the pond like well It was some big

[00:17:56] She has like a book right or the baseball the dog the dog Yes, all right. I know I remember all three of those things I don't remember how it proved that he jumped in the water It did but we say it again There and dog wet yes

[00:18:09] But we see the flashback of Jacob looks like he's gonna walk in and then he sees the dog run off And he follows the dog right right and then Dell says like it's not

[00:18:18] Some point they talk about the dogs not it's not their dog here than the yes. Yeah, something It all makes I feel like we do it. I feel like we do it. There's a lobster socials a lobster social

[00:18:30] Can I ask a serious question? Please do one thing before I know we're on a time crunch The horse giving birth that this show was that ride was that horse giving birth was both shows But the good one was this the best yeah, it was a cow

[00:18:51] Of course the other one but in this show they do go and they buy a bunch of tarps and so the ride folks Tarps are sold out in ride because they used them all on the way home

[00:19:02] Hey guys, I haven't we're not gonna do this. I will just say I had a really funny funny idea Because oh, I know what you're saying W picked up season one of riding is re-showing it and they're not telling anybody that it's not, you know

[00:19:16] A new show. There's a new show CW It would have been so funny for us to review it as if we'd never done it before I Think the idea is is that we still have a deck to Hallmark ride season two

[00:19:29] You ride a synopsis we have we bring weight what's to the table and we act like it just continues forward It just would take way more work than we have the time for unfortunately anyway

[00:22:06] Got the same three letters just that are in Byron can't spell by wrong that Roy Roy Yeah, it's time for big predictions What kind of big predictions? It's where we make big predictions about season two of the way home kicking off this Sunday Ryan give us

[00:22:33] Give us your hottest predictions, I know Section in your diary predictions hottest predictions I would I was interested as I am in the regular ones. Give me the hottest ones

[00:22:50] And we'll go from there well right off rip I can tell you my audio will be better for the actual episodes boom Guarantee it next 10 weeks That was big predictions I'm kidding go ahead

[00:23:09] Elliot right I mean you guys talked to the creators a few months back and they were really coy They were really coy But I feel like even if they weren't thinking that guy was gonna be a villain

[00:23:20] Y'all planted the seed we planted the seed and they were still I believe That's I made some really good points You're very convincing very convincing and so I think by S2 e10 that guy is gonna be wow that is a hot prediction. It's a hot prediction. Yeah

[00:23:40] my hot prediction is that The is that why we will spend some time in in Obviously the past with the white witch We will also end up spending it will either just be introduced or we will spend some time

[00:24:00] In the future in a time that we've not seen yet So I how last year it started with this way back time What if this season like kicks off with a clip from so one of my big questions is can you travel forward?

[00:24:15] To a place or can you just or is it just back and to back to the future present day? That's exactly right. Yes all together in part entirely Yes, I think that is a big question. I don't know the answer that question

[00:24:29] I think it's gonna happen. I think I think it messes with the rules if it happens I think the hot prediction what would it what it mess with I don't remember I remember at the time that I watched the show Very passionate

[00:24:44] Don't ask me to go back and think it think about it at this juncture, but I do know that it would mess with the rules No more than fair the bigger no more as I needed that I think I have a hot prediction for is at the end

[00:24:55] We find that cat is the white witch and she's running. I mean it's clearly like, you know Sometime in that colonial era like that early like 1600s ish timeframe and so We are at least led to believe that cat didn't realize that the

[00:25:13] The pond did this until the very end of the season. So my Hot prediction is that all three of these ladies actually know about the pond Currently or that devil find out. No, no, she knows about it I remember sorry Dan

[00:25:30] I remember us at the time we're like if Dell already knows about the pond then we had problems with a lot of what That would have made from a current storytelling perspective But my problem is is that if they don't I agree with you

[00:25:43] We do have problems with the storytelling because a lot of things she would have figured out by now And she wouldn't just be sitting there like why are they doing that? The problem is is that why is cat in the 1600s?

[00:25:56] Unless she's looking for Jacob. Well, how would she know that he's in the 1600s Eight excuse me 1800s, whatever I heard it both ways. Yeah. Yeah 16 a there's a similar I mean just you know trains and one of them whatever like I think

[00:26:12] Unless it is just the pond takes you where you need to go Nonsense and it's just she jumped in and she showed up in the 1800s And it's like now she's there and she doesn't know why she's there and she's being chased Then that's a lot less fun

[00:26:29] I think that the mythology of this thing has to go deeper and For Dell to not know about that pond and her living on that land for I think we can low-ball it at 30 to 40 years Is crazy to me the dog the kids both kids the grand kid?

[00:26:48] Everybody else figured it out, but her everybody I Just that's tough. That's a tough one for me My other hot prediction is that we're gonna see Annie McDowell in her underwear. I listen that is whoa

[00:27:01] No, no the best part is is that Ryan doesn't know that they've there's a story that's already leaked It's already that any man is going to be in Hallmark's first nearly nude scene

[00:27:12] Whatever that means, that's right the pride of South Carolina. That's right bringing integrity to the Hallmark Channel That's all I saw it. I was like this is perfect Then the full fault like she gives the quote and she's in her underwear was that what it was Aaron

[00:27:33] No, it's a real article people in the shack and tell us but It was billed as like yeah nearly nude right and when you read it's like she'll be covered in under Yeah, yeah, well, yeah An interesting use of

[00:27:49] That and also just like what like what what are they trying to do with that? It would like it would be like someone saying entirely in part Is what it would be like yes, correct she's in her underwear Lisa saying yes. Yeah, so nearly nude. Yeah, of course

[00:28:08] Yeah, what a hot take there. It is. Yeah, I think it's gonna happen. I think this is episode Do we see Byron again in season two? Whoa? Easy now hopefully the first right hopefully right off red Yeah, I don't think that's gonna happen personally

[00:28:26] I think they got a lot to do and none of it involves Byron directly but indirectly so I think it's episode four Go on with four. I was gonna say end of four into force a form some sort of big reveal and for yeah

[00:28:39] For what were the big Hallmark episodes last year was like four and six six was massive six was big I feel like six may have been the carnival one. Yeah, I think one oh six was the carnival

[00:28:54] Yeah, was it and all the pen ultimate episode was also quite good. Yeah, ultimate Yeah eight points. Yeah building a mystery is is number six. That's the one at the at the carnival Yeah, that's the highest user rated one of the season that and the finale Again

[00:29:13] Is the Byron episode the same episode as Andy McDowell in our underwear Because I just thank you those two are clearly I just this is now. I know that you're doing a bit I'm dead serious right now

[00:29:30] They either have to bring Elliot back as a love interest or bring him back and start to plant the seeds of possible Villainry I would love if they took what he's definitely just coming back as a love interest, but they don't they're not

[00:29:43] They're gonna string that along. Yeah, but they're not gonna they're not gonna even play with with that I think they do enough To just red herring it you know what I mean like enough to make it to where we can keep

[00:29:55] We're gonna see it anyway because we know the truth We know when your eyes are open to cue you see it everywhere With arms wide open under the sunlight. That's right. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah And here's the thing is is that

[00:30:08] He as soon as they find out he's a villain. He's six feet from the edge and he's sinking. Yeah It's not that complicated I'll say that much maybe six feet ain't so far down

[00:30:21] But what I can tell you is that those ladies that run this show they get it They know their characters and they're gonna be in that writing room and they're gonna resist it as long as they came

[00:30:30] But then they're gonna realize that he is it the perfect ultimate time-travel villain And and to not use them as that would be a less than perfect show

[00:30:39] My biggest fear for this season is we're gonna spend a lot of time in the 1800s because at that point it's just it's just Winkles to heart like I just I just don't want that. I don't want that is a big fear. Yeah, it's a big fear like

[00:30:51] fear is they ruin the time travel stuff That I think they do well because they do time travel pretty well in this show They mess with the rules that they set up about the bootstrap paradox and all that stuff

[00:31:02] And my my big fear is as this show goes on They're gonna have to mess with those rules in order to continue the plot points They want to continue right what's your biggest fear before we wrap this bad boy up? Sorry

[00:31:18] I think Ryan had a really funny thing to say to and you ruined it. What would you you're gonna say? What's your biggest fear right back dance ask again, right before we wrap this thing up What's your biggest fear for the way home season 2?

[00:31:31] Dive can never ruin a true dive can only enhance you're right At what point do we get like flagged? I think we're there. Yeah, okay, right? What's your biggest fear before we wrap this thing up for the way home season 2? No lobster social would be crushing. Oh
