[00:00:00] Oh hi, I didn't see you there. It's Fran. I love When Calls The Heart.

[00:00:08] I'm Jax and I like When Calls The Heart.

[00:00:12] I'm Dan. I despise When Calls The Heart and this is the Deck The Hallmark Podcast!

[00:00:16] Deck The Hallmark, it's this podcast.

[00:00:20] With an inference host is podcast.

[00:00:24] We hope you like this jolly podcast.

[00:00:28] We hope you like this jolly podcast.

[00:00:32] Follow the law.

[00:00:36] Hello, good day and salutations everybody. It is great to be here.

[00:00:40] Another Wednesday which could only mean one thing Dan,

[00:00:44] this time of year. Hope Valley. Hope Valley. That's right.

[00:00:48] Back in that wagon. That wagon. That wagon or that horse.

[00:00:52] Hey, you know what we've not talked about? Did you say horse to do it? We've not talked about this year at all.

[00:00:56] Ted, last year, two years ago,

[00:01:00] Ted flew, hi Jax by the way, hi Jax join us as always.

[00:01:04] Featuring Jacqueline Collier of the Bubbly Sets.

[00:01:08] Above the title is really what I'm going for.

[00:01:12] Jacklyn Collier presents Deck The Hallmark featuring Jack. For two straight seasons,

[00:01:16] Ted flew you down for every episode of the show

[00:01:20] and then last year it seemed as though he was gonna and things didn't

[00:01:24] happen at all like week to week and this year we've not heard

[00:01:28] hide nor hair. I haven't found there's a reason. I think there's a reason for that.

[00:01:32] Jax. Yeah, um,

[00:01:36] it was really making Ted's wife uncomfortable

[00:01:40] hearing me talk on the podcast about him. I don't know,

[00:01:44] like honestly, I don't know where she got the idea that there was something weird.

[00:01:48] Yeah, it seemed all above board to me. The whole shop house, the whole thing. It was all about board.

[00:01:52] I was married. Yeah. Oh, didn't I mention that?

[00:01:56] Yeah, I just, I did learn that today. That is true. Yeah.

[00:02:00] And it was just making her feel uncomfortable. She felt like we were getting

[00:02:04] a little too close. But it was purely a platonic

[00:02:08] right, but you could see maybe how she got there. I'll pay you to fly

[00:02:12] down to Greenville and then you'll go out to eat with me.

[00:02:16] Yeah. I mean, I just feel like he found

[00:02:20] me to be a fascinating conversationalist. Yeah.

[00:02:24] And sometimes I'd give him back rubs and stuff, but other than that, like

[00:02:28] I don't know what you're complaining about.

[00:02:32] So I get it. And I respect the thing to the other marriage.

[00:02:36] Yeah. No, I totally, and she told me she felt uncomfortable.

[00:02:40] You know what? You were just a

[00:02:44] platonic fly to Greenville, go out to eat and fly back with

[00:02:48] a ferociously high-end truck. And I was like,

[00:02:52] oh, I'm not going to get married. I'm going to get married.

[00:02:56] I don't have any other way to make her feel uncomfortable.

[00:03:00] I feel like she's kind of like a softback to me,

[00:03:04] but I mean, you know, she's a sweet girl.

[00:03:08] She's a good girl. She doesn't have to be upset.

[00:03:12] You know what I mean? She's a sweet girl.

[00:03:16] Maybe he goes to nine.

[00:03:17] They don't go past nine.

[00:03:19] Are we sure it's 12?

[00:03:20] We've confirmed that.

[00:03:21] I don't know if it's actually been confirmed,

[00:03:23] but I feel like we have it on good authority.

[00:03:26] Why did we think it in the first place, Aaron?

[00:03:29] Do you remember how we got here?

[00:03:30] Jacks brought it up, but last season was 12.

[00:03:34] Last season was 12.

[00:03:35] According to IMDB.

[00:03:36] Really?

[00:03:37] Last season was 12, yes.

[00:03:39] 11, I have nine episodes here

[00:03:43] and eight of them have plots next to them.

[00:03:47] Wow.

[00:03:48] Fair enough.

[00:03:49] You know, we'll go with 12.

[00:03:51] I think that's probably a safe.

[00:03:52] I don't know if we can really get to the bottom

[00:03:54] of Hickam and Macy's relationship in just nine episodes.

[00:03:57] That's true.

[00:03:59] She's gonna take more than that.

[00:04:01] Maybe a 22 West Wing level is what we need.

[00:04:06] At least, yeah.

[00:04:07] That's at least what we need to get to the bottom of that.

[00:04:09] I would watch 22 episodes of this

[00:04:10] for one more season of the West Wing, Jacks.

[00:04:13] Oh my gosh, absolute.

[00:04:15] Oh, one more season of the West Wing.

[00:04:17] Yeah.

[00:04:19] Bring Aaron Sorkin back.

[00:04:20] You know it's not happening, right?

[00:04:21] You were responding as if it was actually on the table.

[00:04:25] I've got Aaron Sorkin on the line

[00:04:26] and I was like, if it's gonna take what it's gonna take.

[00:04:28] Like I've pulled all the strings here.

[00:04:30] I've made it.

[00:04:31] Walk and you're talking.

[00:04:31] I have to tell you guys something really funny

[00:04:34] quickly about the West Wing that the other day,

[00:04:36] I don't usually do CBD gummies,

[00:04:38] but I was having one in the evening to relax.

[00:04:40] You and Brian both.

[00:04:42] Too strong.

[00:04:42] Oh, okay, good Brian.

[00:04:44] We should make them a sponsor the pod.

[00:04:46] The CBD gummies that I use.

[00:04:47] They did.

[00:04:48] Well, microdose.

[00:04:49] I don't know who you were using, but microdose was.

[00:04:51] Well, I thought, okay, oh, hi, microdose.

[00:04:53] I thought I was microdosing.

[00:04:55] Let me just say I wasn't, mistakes were made.

[00:04:58] And I was at a whole new level

[00:05:00] of not knowing what existence was.

[00:05:03] And the only thing I could say, I said to Alex,

[00:05:05] I said, I don't know what's happening.

[00:05:08] I don't feel tethered to reality.

[00:05:11] Put on West Wing, I need something familiar.

[00:05:13] And then I fell asleep to just Jed Bartlett comforting me.

[00:05:18] And that's all like,

[00:05:19] that's all that was keeping me tethered to reality

[00:05:23] was West Wing.

[00:05:24] So I would do almost anything for another season.

[00:05:25] Yeah.

[00:05:26] Yeah.

[00:05:27] And apparently I'm the worst negotiator in the world

[00:05:29] because what I asked for was a 22 episode win

[00:05:32] calls the heart season.

[00:05:33] Ah, bad, bad job on my part.

[00:05:37] So in this reality is sorkin a big one calls the heart fan.

[00:05:41] I don't know why is that?

[00:05:43] I just said it out loud that maybe we need that

[00:05:46] and I would be willing to watch it for one more.

[00:05:47] Not I wanted to watch it for one more.

[00:05:49] But then it just snowballed from there

[00:05:52] and Jack's is high and there's nothing we could do.

[00:05:54] There was just a whole thing.

[00:05:58] I bet Alex is fun with gummies.

[00:06:03] Oh, he doesn't do that.

[00:06:04] He doesn't do that.

[00:06:05] And I'm, I don't drink.

[00:06:07] I'm usually always sober.

[00:06:09] So the gummies were a mistake.

[00:06:11] They hit different.

[00:06:11] The gummies were a mistake.

[00:06:12] But he drinks Alex drinks, right?

[00:06:15] He drinks.

[00:06:15] But doesn't do the gummies and you don't drink.

[00:06:18] That's why you guys are great.

[00:06:20] That's right.

[00:06:21] That's me in heaven.

[00:06:22] Perfect pair.

[00:06:23] Say hi to Alex for us.

[00:06:24] Missed that guy.

[00:06:25] Well, he said when we were getting in the car yesterday

[00:06:28] he had decked the hallmark all queued up

[00:06:30] and he's like, that's just what I listened to.

[00:06:32] There's just no way that that's a true story.

[00:06:35] No, no, that actually did happen.

[00:06:37] It's a joke.

[00:06:37] Now he's like listening though, because I was like,

[00:06:40] Hey, listen to us.

[00:06:41] We're all friends.

[00:06:42] And so now we got so good at that.

[00:06:44] What a guy above and beyond.

[00:06:46] He's a guy.

[00:06:47] Speaking of above and beyond.

[00:06:49] Above and beyond.

[00:06:50] Philo, phylo.tv says DTH.

[00:06:52] You can watch the wind calls the heart

[00:06:54] and you can watch this review.

[00:06:55] Wind calls the heart all in one nice little place.

[00:06:58] You don't want to do game changing episodes

[00:07:00] like this episode.

[00:07:01] I just watched a new Liam Neeson movie on Philo.

[00:07:07] It was there available for streaming via the stars,

[00:07:09] which is inside of Philo, which was nice.

[00:07:13] So shout out to Liam Neeson.

[00:07:15] Shout out to Wind calls the heart.

[00:07:15] Shout out to Liam.

[00:07:16] Shout out to, we're basically,

[00:07:18] we are now I think in business with Liam.

[00:07:20] We're in business with Liam Neeson.

[00:07:22] Because that's how that works.

[00:07:23] Which is awesome.

[00:07:24] Wow.

[00:07:24] Wind calls the heart season 11 episode three.

[00:07:26] It's called.

[00:07:27] You better believe it.

[00:07:28] Jax.

[00:07:31] What's it called?

[00:07:33] I think it's you better believe it.

[00:07:34] I think it's you better believe it is not.

[00:07:37] It is steps forward.

[00:07:40] Suspenders shirtless unbuttoned?

[00:07:42] Is that what it's called?

[00:07:43] Steps forward.

[00:07:45] Should be.

[00:07:46] April 21st, 2024 and when it was something like this.

[00:07:50] We're in capital city and Bill is on the ground

[00:07:54] looking at rocks and stuff.

[00:07:55] He's testing out the timing of the story

[00:08:00] of the shooting.

[00:08:01] What is supposed to have happened.

[00:08:04] His conclusion?

[00:08:07] Somebody's lying.

[00:08:09] Cut to Hope Valley and Lucas is signing the paperwork

[00:08:12] to sell the saloon to Lee and Lee is like maybe

[00:08:17] I'll actually spend some time here.

[00:08:18] It'll be fun.

[00:08:20] Maybe I actually will fill up more of my time

[00:08:22] with the saloon.

[00:08:24] What's the worst that could happen?

[00:08:25] Nathan goes by the schoolhouse to quote unquote

[00:08:28] drop off lunch, which leads to him talking

[00:08:32] about Elizabeth, about how good life is.

[00:08:34] Life's good, right?

[00:08:35] It's good.

[00:08:36] It's good.

[00:08:37] It's good.

[00:08:37] It's really good.

[00:08:38] Now Cooper is upset with Angela because she gave his

[00:08:43] best baseball to the dog scout.

[00:08:46] The dog.

[00:08:47] And shoot it all up.

[00:08:49] Now Angela says like Cooper you used my favorite

[00:08:52] ribbon as a slingshot.

[00:08:53] This is so great.

[00:08:54] So will these two kids work it out?

[00:08:56] Hearing this.

[00:08:57] Stay tuned.

[00:08:57] Hearing this a second time.

[00:08:59] Bill updates Nathan on his testing.

[00:09:02] Nathan reminds Bill that Monogue was investigated

[00:09:06] and Bill thinks I don't really care that he was investigated.

[00:09:10] I think maybe he hired the guy to take the hit

[00:09:15] or whatever, but something is shady going on here

[00:09:17] and I think Monogue could still be involved.

[00:09:20] There's a kid named Toby who's bad at math.

[00:09:24] This is continuation from last week.

[00:09:26] Yes.

[00:09:27] And he's still bad at math.

[00:09:28] All right.

[00:09:29] An update there.

[00:09:30] Thank you.

[00:09:30] Rosemary tells Bill that she's interviewing Monogue

[00:09:33] for the paper, a firsthand source.

[00:09:35] A scoop.

[00:09:37] Bill says I want in on this call.

[00:09:39] I'll just listen in.

[00:09:40] May and Mike are almost five months into

[00:09:42] their relationship.

[00:09:43] They almost kiss but she knocks the sugar over

[00:09:46] and you can't recover from a situation like that.

[00:09:49] No way.

[00:09:50] You wouldn't just power through and kiss.

[00:09:52] You'd say well I guess we got a call today.

[00:09:55] Apparently some people are still.

[00:09:57] We're going down swinging.

[00:09:59] That's exactly that.

[00:10:02] Some people are still concerned about the resort

[00:10:04] and Rosemary is gonna publish those concerns in the paper.

[00:10:07] Lee's like I'm not so sure you should do that.

[00:10:09] Giving people a voice to voice their concerns.

[00:10:12] Yeah we don't want to do that.

[00:10:13] Is that what we want to do?

[00:10:13] Is that what we want to do?

[00:10:16] Bill and Nathan sit with Lucas.

[00:10:19] Edwin is there.

[00:10:20] Edwin, we all remember Edwin of course.

[00:10:22] Yeah of course.

[00:10:23] Of Edwin and Edwin son.

[00:10:25] Edwin and Edwin son.

[00:10:26] Describes Edwin the best.

[00:10:27] Jax you were describing Edwin and his character.

[00:10:31] Who Edwin is?

[00:10:33] Oh I guess he was titillating.

[00:10:37] Yeah but who is he?

[00:10:39] Oh well he's Lucas' campaign manager.

[00:10:41] Right?

[00:10:42] Right.

[00:10:43] And before him.

[00:10:44] Who is also like the nasty guy from the springs.

[00:10:46] Yes.

[00:10:47] He was a nasty tourist.

[00:10:50] And then he worked for the current governor

[00:10:52] and now he worked for Lucas.

[00:10:53] And I remember it.

[00:10:53] I remember it.

[00:10:55] But I appreciate Jax contributing.

[00:10:57] Oh yeah no problem.

[00:10:59] And Bill is talking about how he's a little bit concerned

[00:11:02] about maybe some security.

[00:11:04] I don't know if you know this or not.

[00:11:05] Someone tried to kill the governor.

[00:11:08] So I don't know.

[00:11:09] Lucas is like, Bill is trying to get Lucas

[00:11:13] to give him anything.

[00:11:14] Bill and Nathan both are.

[00:11:15] Do you remember anything about the shooting?

[00:11:16] He's like hey man I hit my head pretty hard.

[00:11:20] I only remember in the hospital I had that wrap

[00:11:23] around my head.

[00:11:24] That's from when I hit my head

[00:11:26] so I don't actually really remember.

[00:11:28] That's why I forgot about that gauze.

[00:11:30] Nathan's like hey man we're gonna protect you

[00:11:32] don't you worry your pretty little head.

[00:11:35] It's pretty now.

[00:11:36] It's not entering anymore.

[00:11:37] Elizabeth sees Nathan, Hoblin, I'm sorry Lucas,

[00:11:41] Hoblin down the road.

[00:11:42] You know he's got a limp and says.

[00:11:45] He's been hit with a few shells.

[00:11:46] Can I walk with you?

[00:11:48] Okay.

[00:11:49] Can I walk with you?

[00:11:52] Elizabeth.

[00:11:53] Would you care for some company?

[00:11:54] That's right.

[00:11:55] Which is basically.

[00:11:57] Yeah do you wanna.

[00:11:57] Hope Valley language.

[00:11:59] Hook up.

[00:12:00] That's right.

[00:12:00] That's Hope Valley hookup culture is what that is.

[00:12:03] After that Elizabeth goes into Nathan's office.

[00:12:07] Wants to you know talk about everything

[00:12:10] and doesn't see him.

[00:12:12] Where is he?

[00:12:13] Where could he be?

[00:12:14] Oh I don't know.

[00:12:15] It's just shirtless.

[00:12:16] Walks out.

[00:12:17] Damn shirtless.

[00:12:19] He's like sorry about that.

[00:12:22] But is she?

[00:12:23] That smile begs to differ.

[00:12:26] In the.

[00:12:27] Are you writing fan fiction?

[00:12:31] That smile begs to differ.

[00:12:33] Try this one on for size.

[00:12:34] In the interview, Monogu is like,

[00:12:36] hey I was at a party with at least 100 other people

[00:12:41] that can tell you that I was where I said I was.

[00:12:45] You don't got nothing on me.

[00:12:46] Using Benson Hills.

[00:12:47] Yeah.

[00:12:48] For the other governor's thing.

[00:12:49] Yes.

[00:12:50] Yeah big party time.

[00:12:50] That's right.

[00:12:51] Tobias, bad at math and cries about it this time.

[00:12:56] May and Mike are, they're gonna surprise picnic dates.

[00:13:00] Five month anniversary.

[00:13:02] Maybe this time we'll get that smoochy smooch.

[00:13:04] You will not.

[00:13:05] They are interrupted by Elizabeth, Lucas and all the kids.

[00:13:09] Cause they've come out to the woods for a photo op.

[00:13:13] The rival Randall as we call him around here.

[00:13:15] Rival Randall.

[00:13:16] Randall Rockwell.

[00:13:17] Is also there to take a picture for this.

[00:13:21] This is where the resort is gonna be.

[00:13:25] Rival Randall knows that this land,

[00:13:27] part of the land actually belongs to Benson Hills.

[00:13:30] The side of the mountain.

[00:13:32] This isn't gonna be a problem though I'm sure.

[00:13:34] Edwin's like no big deal.

[00:13:36] We're gonna negotiate it with the mayor.

[00:13:37] It's not gonna be a big deal.

[00:13:39] Edwin seems very sure that it's not gonna be a problem.

[00:13:41] Cooper and Angela are still fighting.

[00:13:43] So finally Joseph says I've got to get

[00:13:46] in the middle of this.

[00:13:47] I don't want you to end up like me and my brother.

[00:13:50] You don't know existed cause I don't talk to him anymore.

[00:13:53] And they're like well this is some heavy stuff dad.

[00:13:55] Think you're right maybe we should be friends again.

[00:13:57] So that's nice.

[00:13:59] Love that.

[00:14:00] Rosemary shows Bill a photo that was taken of Montague

[00:14:05] where he said that he was.

[00:14:07] And so this proves that he was where he says he was

[00:14:09] and that happened an hour after the shooting.

[00:14:12] Couldn't have taken the express train, no way.

[00:14:13] Can't tell you, did not enough time.

[00:14:16] But she agrees something still seems

[00:14:18] a little bit shady here but you know, his story checks out.

[00:14:23] Little bit about Bobo doing Elizabeth

[00:14:25] and Super Saiyan and Super Saiyan.

[00:14:28] And both of them.

[00:14:29] This is what we're actually doing

[00:14:30] we're recording right now you know.

[00:14:32] Yes so.

[00:14:33] We did run through beforehand.

[00:14:34] We did a full run through this.

[00:14:35] Okay.

[00:14:36] Just making sure you knew it.

[00:14:37] Yes.

[00:14:38] So everyone knows as I'm sure you do

[00:14:41] that Lucas is supposed to not be here for very long.

[00:14:44] Yeah that's right.

[00:14:45] But Edwin said they're popping back

[00:14:48] to the capital city which they've not named.

[00:14:50] That's exactly right.

[00:14:51] Yeah.

[00:14:52] Elizabeth tells Nathan we're gonna,

[00:14:54] everything's gonna get back to normal.

[00:14:58] Is it though?

[00:14:58] Because Lucas then tells the crowd

[00:15:00] that he is not going anywhere.

[00:15:03] And he's going to stay put and hope Valley

[00:15:06] and make sure that the resort works out

[00:15:09] as it's supposed to be so he's not going anywhere.

[00:15:12] And now my friends was,

[00:15:14] where it calls to heart season 11 episode three.

[00:15:17] You stepped forward.

[00:15:19] We're gonna take a quick break.

[00:15:20] We're gonna come back.

[00:15:21] We're gonna break this episode down here on.

[00:15:22] That's the homework.

[00:15:24] Hello there little ones.

[00:15:37] It's brand Dan Jax.

[00:15:39] We're all back.

[00:15:40] We're talking about Winkles the Heart season 11

[00:15:42] episode three.

[00:15:44] Let's break it down.

[00:15:45] We're gonna start with a hot take

[00:15:46] and we'll share exactly how we felt about this episode.

[00:15:47] We do not hold back

[00:15:48] and I'm gonna start with you Jax Jax.

[00:15:51] Episode three, how we feeling?

[00:15:55] Well, this is gonna be the hottest of hot takes

[00:15:58] because if you thought I was horned up last week.

[00:16:02] Seeing my man solve mysteries, he's in capital city.

[00:16:11] He's running around.

[00:16:13] He's testing theories.

[00:16:15] He's coming back to Hope Valley, Jack Wagner.

[00:16:18] This role looks good on you.

[00:16:21] And I know I'm excited too

[00:16:24] that there was a lot of joy around Nathan being shirtless.

[00:16:27] That was a great scene.

[00:16:29] I thought it was fun.

[00:16:30] I thought it was playful.

[00:16:31] You know, Elizabeth looks like she's feeling

[00:16:34] how I'm feeling about Jack Wagner.

[00:16:36] But the episode kicked off with a bang.

[00:16:39] This is my favorite episode of the season so far.

[00:16:44] There are little things here and there

[00:16:45] that we'll get into that could be improved upon

[00:16:48] but I am back in the swing of liking one calls the heart

[00:16:53] and I'm crediting this episode with that.

[00:16:55] So thank you.

[00:16:55] Episode three, my favorite so far.

[00:16:58] Wow.

[00:16:59] Hot takes.

[00:17:00] Okay, you guys do like this one

[00:17:02] but I mean I'll get to hear what you say

[00:17:03] but you have to like this better than the first episode.

[00:17:06] Yeah, I like this episode.

[00:17:09] Fine.

[00:17:11] There's so much going on that I don't care about.

[00:17:13] Yes.

[00:17:14] But when we actually get again,

[00:17:17] this is the same problem though.

[00:17:18] Like for me personally, I believe that the show

[00:17:21] as wonderful as the people are that are on the show,

[00:17:24] there's just too many people to care about everybody

[00:17:27] and all the stories.

[00:17:28] I do think that the central storyline of the season

[00:17:33] even though I would just like to get this over with

[00:17:36] and have these two lovebirds kiss next episode,

[00:17:38] get engaged by six and get married.

[00:17:40] It's just not happening.

[00:17:41] It doesn't seem like it's happening.

[00:17:42] I do think obviously Lucas is gonna be sticking around.

[00:17:46] We're gonna have a bit of a thing here.

[00:17:47] I do think that the general mystery of the shooting,

[00:17:52] the resorts, Nathan Elizabeth,

[00:17:56] that I think as the bones of this season

[00:18:01] are overall fine.

[00:18:02] I don't, I'm not hating it.

[00:18:04] It's all these other random things

[00:18:06] that happen throughout each episode

[00:18:08] that like kind of I'm like feeling the episode.

[00:18:11] I'm doing, I'm having a good time.

[00:18:13] And then like the kids crying

[00:18:16] and I'm like, I just don't care about the kid

[00:18:17] who doesn't know math crying.

[00:18:18] Like I'd call me, call, I know.

[00:18:21] Call me heartless.

[00:18:22] Call me heartless, but I just don't care about it.

[00:18:24] Because you yourself do not know math.

[00:18:25] Cause I don't know how to do math.

[00:18:27] I don't know how to read.

[00:18:28] I don't know how to do it like,

[00:18:29] and it's just like whatever.

[00:18:30] Like I'm enjoying the big parts of this season.

[00:18:35] And it's just like, let's just,

[00:18:36] I just want to focus on the thing.

[00:18:38] I know that's not what's going to happen.

[00:18:39] And so overall this episode,

[00:18:41] I do think is the best of the season

[00:18:43] started out riveting a fantastic scene

[00:18:47] by Mr. Bill Avery playing detective

[00:18:50] ear to the ground.

[00:18:52] Love it, love it.

[00:18:54] A great way to start the episode.

[00:18:57] Overall, good time.

[00:18:59] Brain might be back.

[00:19:01] I would say it's weird cause I just disagree

[00:19:04] with the breakdown.

[00:19:06] Like the main three things of this,

[00:19:09] if they are the mystery of the shooter,

[00:19:12] the hotel and then Elizabeth and Nathan,

[00:19:15] I would argue if we want to start positive first,

[00:19:17] yes, the first scene, I wrote it down here.

[00:19:19] Bill doing detective work before the theme song

[00:19:23] is easily the best thing I've seen on this show

[00:19:25] in three years minimum.

[00:19:27] Okay?

[00:19:28] Letting him do that, let Bill Avery cook.

[00:19:31] Let him go and work, do your thing.

[00:19:33] The problem is even when he's with Rosemary,

[00:19:36] those are also good scenes.

[00:19:37] That accounts for eight, nine minutes this episode tops.

[00:19:41] Okay, the other things,

[00:19:44] you would agree the school stuff is bad.

[00:19:46] You would agree faith in the little girl stuff,

[00:19:49] not super great at all, building the daycare,

[00:19:52] not great, Mesa and Hickam, not great.

[00:19:55] A lot of these other things, not great.

[00:19:57] If we're talking about these other two things,

[00:19:59] this resort, how dare, first of all, how dare you?

[00:20:03] We spent the better part of two seasons

[00:20:05] with Hope Valley trying to keep a resort from coming here.

[00:20:08] And now we're gonna act like we didn't do that for two years

[00:20:12] to do it again.

[00:20:13] How dare you?

[00:20:14] Nathan and Elizabeth getting together.

[00:20:16] They are at least trying to give you

[00:20:18] the slightest bit of inclination

[00:20:20] that Lucas is still in play for Elizabeth.

[00:20:24] How dare you?

[00:20:25] You've done that twice already, twice.

[00:20:28] So is Bill Avery trying to solve a murder the best?

[00:20:32] Yes, yes.

[00:20:34] Is this episode the best because of it?

[00:20:37] On the card, yes it is, yes it is.

[00:20:39] I will grant you that it is, yes it is.

[00:20:41] But where I would disagree is,

[00:20:43] is the breakdown that those three pillars are all working.

[00:20:49] The other two pillars are old, tired,

[00:20:51] have been done before

[00:20:53] and have come out with a similar and or different outcome.

[00:20:57] Those two things are part of the problem of the show.

[00:21:01] I'm in agreement with Bran,

[00:21:02] I wanna see those two get together

[00:21:04] if it means the end of the show.

[00:21:06] If we're gonna sit here and act like Lucas is back

[00:21:10] in town and they're walking and they're making eyes

[00:21:12] and there's still this love triangle again,

[00:21:15] embarrassingly bad.

[00:21:16] The resort, are you kidding me?

[00:21:18] Lucas staying in town for it as the governor of,

[00:21:21] what I can only imagine is Canada, awful.

[00:21:24] There is the show, the murder mystery is solid

[00:21:29] because Jack Wagner and Pascal Hutton are great together

[00:21:32] which is my feels but I'll just say it here.

[00:21:35] They don't get a lot of scenes together normally.

[00:21:36] They're solving a murder together, it's great.

[00:21:39] It accounts for not 20% of this television program.

[00:21:43] It accounts for 10, 11, 12%.

[00:21:45] That is good.

[00:21:46] The more attention that gets,

[00:21:48] the better the episode will get.

[00:21:50] The rest of this stuff can die a slow death.

[00:21:54] It is anywhere from unwatchable to,

[00:21:58] I can't believe that they're acting like we've not seen

[00:22:00] any of the previous seasons before

[00:22:02] and that's where I would disagree is the breakdown of this,

[00:22:05] I think we're all in agreement

[00:22:06] the ancillary stuff isn't working.

[00:22:08] The extraneous, the Hickam-Mesu, the daycare,

[00:22:15] but I think with those three big tent polls

[00:22:16] only one is working for me

[00:22:17] it sounds like all three are working for you.

[00:22:20] They're working for me as a whole collectively, yeah.

[00:22:24] I don't know if we're all in agreement

[00:22:26] that the ancillary stuff is okay no, no.

[00:22:29] Is it working from a storytelling perspective

[00:22:35] from a screenwriting perspective?

[00:22:37] Yeah.

[00:22:38] No, but am I enjoying the heck out of these kids

[00:22:43] and the daycare center

[00:22:44] and the scene with the little boy who can't do math?

[00:22:47] I actually am.

[00:22:48] Are you?

[00:22:49] I'm gonna treat it great.

[00:22:50] It's not a good story.

[00:22:51] I'm so happy for you.

[00:22:53] But I'm enjoying it.

[00:22:54] I think by enjoyment.

[00:22:57] I think my point, like I like Frickham in May

[00:23:00] and I think that that's swell.

[00:23:02] It's just that that just takes me out of the overall.

[00:23:06] Like in my mind, it is still this show

[00:23:09] is all about Elizabeth, Lucas and Nathan

[00:23:13] and the storyline in which those three are now in

[00:23:17] and it's just not, that's not what it is anymore.

[00:23:21] But anytime we go somewhere else,

[00:23:24] I'm just like, I would just wanna go back to the thing.

[00:23:27] Yeah.

[00:23:28] And what I will say Dan that I agree with you 100%

[00:23:30] about the resort, they are actually,

[00:23:35] this word gets overused but it feels like

[00:23:37] they're gaslighting us because they're not even mentioning

[00:23:40] that they didn't, like, oh, things have changed

[00:23:42] since before, like they're not mentioning it

[00:23:44] and it's really not fair because if there's anything,

[00:23:48] it's just respectful to the hearties

[00:23:50] because they know everything about this show.

[00:23:52] Come on.

[00:23:53] Yeah.

[00:23:54] I just, the resort stuff is taking up,

[00:23:56] if I could take the resort stuff away

[00:23:59] and put it all towards the murder mystery

[00:24:01] then we'd have something.

[00:24:02] Then we'd have a show that is probably operating

[00:24:05] at the height of its powers

[00:24:06] even with all that other stuff, wouldn't you agree?

[00:24:07] I would.

[00:24:08] But the problem is, is if without the resort stuff

[00:24:10] Lucas isn't around.

[00:24:12] Which is also fine by me.

[00:24:14] I love Chris McNally,

[00:24:15] I don't think you'd heard his feelings.

[00:24:17] But I would, of the things, it's the thing,

[00:24:20] like if it was just, hey, I think the mystery's,

[00:24:23] like give Bill the mystery, let him do it.

[00:24:26] Like I'll do that all day long

[00:24:28] and then let Elizabeth and Nathan fall in love.

[00:24:30] I don't really need Lucas to be around at this point.

[00:24:33] No.

[00:24:34] But I'm not, like I like him so I'm not upset but it's just-

[00:24:38] I also am more intrigued in the mystery now

[00:24:40] that they've kind of said,

[00:24:42] I thought that they had already done this thing

[00:24:43] where they're like Montague basically hired

[00:24:47] this guy to do it.

[00:24:48] And so it gives me some hope that maybe this mystery

[00:24:53] involves a twist because I was worried

[00:24:56] that the mystery is Bill Avery's gonna hold Montague's

[00:24:59] feet to the fire and not let him get away with it

[00:25:02] but there is no actual mystery.

[00:25:04] It's just we know Montague's involved,

[00:25:07] let's connect that dot and we'll be done.

[00:25:10] I'm hopeful that maybe-

[00:25:12] Edwin's definitely dirty, right?

[00:25:14] Like did you pick up on that?

[00:25:15] Yeah, 100%

[00:25:16] Yeah, it's definitely Edwin.

[00:25:18] They just 100% kind of-

[00:25:21] And I didn't, that was a wait what,

[00:25:22] but they basically overplay their hand there.

[00:25:24] Like I would love a mystery where we should be able

[00:25:28] to put it together but can't.

[00:25:29] That's probably asking too much out of this show

[00:25:32] but that is easily still the best part.

[00:25:35] And if the resort wasn't around

[00:25:36] and it was just Elizabeth and Nathan

[00:25:39] like fast tracking their relationship

[00:25:43] then I would probably have a little bit more leeway

[00:25:46] for some of the rest of this stuff

[00:25:47] but when I only get eight minutes of murder mystery stuff

[00:25:51] and then I get 10 to 12 minutes of daycare, baseball,

[00:25:56] math, faith and this like

[00:26:00] and then I get 10 or 12 minutes of hotel resort

[00:26:04] and then I get Nathan Elizabeth that's like

[00:26:06] most like the vast majority of this

[00:26:09] is not working for me at all.

[00:26:11] I'll just say this, give me a mystery of the week

[00:26:16] with Bill Avery and Rosemary.

[00:26:18] Like Rosemary kind of meddling in it

[00:26:21] and try like that'd be gravy.

[00:26:23] If we wanna, if we would like, if they're interested-

[00:26:25] Just make a mystery wheel.

[00:26:26] If they're interested in this season

[00:26:28] being the last season when it calls to heart

[00:26:30] and then continuing like Bill,

[00:26:32] like Bill Avery's such a great character.

[00:26:34] He's a great character

[00:26:35] and him doing mystery stuff, primo.

[00:26:38] And his engagement with Rosemary in this episode, wonderful.

[00:26:42] When calls the murder, heart of crime.

[00:26:44] Heart of murder.

[00:26:45] Something like that.

[00:26:46] Ooh, yes, when calls the murder.

[00:26:48] This is great.

[00:26:49] Yeah, and they just moved to capital city

[00:26:51] and Kevin or Lee dies, they moved-

[00:26:54] We don't have to do that.

[00:26:55] They moved to capital city

[00:26:56] and they just-

[00:26:58] We're trying to pitch this show

[00:26:59] you can't start with Lee dies.

[00:27:01] Yeah, we do-

[00:27:02] I'm sorry, Lee moves to capital city

[00:27:05] and continues to do all the businesses he does.

[00:27:07] Yeah.

[00:27:08] Better?

[00:27:09] Great.

[00:27:10] It's fine.

[00:27:11] He finally follows-

[00:27:12] He's very much alive.

[00:27:13] He finally follows Rosemary

[00:27:15] for once in his gosh darn life.

[00:27:16] Yes, once in a few years.

[00:27:18] He finally like tries to be a supportive husband.

[00:27:20] That'd be crazy.

[00:27:21] It's time for all the fields

[00:27:22] where we talk about what in this episode

[00:27:24] gave us feels, Jax.

[00:27:28] So I know a lot of people

[00:27:31] are not really connecting with the May Mike situation.

[00:27:35] It does seem, to me it seems very pure

[00:27:38] and they don't really seem like grownups

[00:27:41] but to me that's okay.

[00:27:43] This is very sweet and innocent.

[00:27:44] How old do you think they are?

[00:27:47] So it's-

[00:27:48] God just slide into Bros and Bums DMs

[00:27:51] but for the love of good and-

[00:27:54] Are you kidding me right now, Jax?

[00:27:56] It's a mess over there.

[00:27:58] That storyline is a mess.

[00:28:02] Like here's the thing.

[00:28:06] And I actually, I wanna say this

[00:28:08] but I wanna make sure that I'm being respectful

[00:28:11] because I actually-

[00:28:12] So Dan, you'll be fine.

[00:28:14] You can say whatever you want to do.

[00:28:15] No, no, no, no, no, no.

[00:28:16] This actually isn't gonna be sexual.

[00:28:18] So a show that I've completely fallen in love with

[00:28:21] is Love on the Spectrum.

[00:28:23] I think it's such a beautiful show

[00:28:25] that it shows like just these heartwarming love stories

[00:28:31] that we don't traditionally get to see.

[00:28:32] And while I do not think that the characters of May and Mike

[00:28:37] are playing characters that are like neurodivergent

[00:28:39] or on the spectrum necessarily,

[00:28:42] there's parts of their relationship

[00:28:44] that are seeming just so pure and lovely to me

[00:28:47] and it's like, it's delightful for me to watch.

[00:28:50] And even when she knocked over the sugar,

[00:28:53] yeah, it's like this funny,

[00:28:55] like I knocked over something trope

[00:28:56] but it actually seemed really realistic

[00:28:58] and funny and adorable.

[00:29:00] And Ben Rosenbaum, yeah, you're right.

[00:29:07] And I do, I also love watching this show.

[00:29:09] You knew it was coming.

[00:29:10] I do love watching the show,

[00:29:12] picturing Aaron Craco as an executive producer

[00:29:15] and knowing if that's our partner being like,

[00:29:17] well, we don't need them to kiss in this one, right?

[00:29:20] It's funny.

[00:29:21] Like they're dating five months

[00:29:22] but we can just like kick the can on it.

[00:29:24] So they are part of my feels

[00:29:26] and of course, Jack Wagner, the entire thing.

[00:29:29] We've said, you know, not all there is to say

[00:29:32] cause we could go on, but he's a huge feel.

[00:29:34] And then I loved the way Aaron Craco played that moment

[00:29:39] when she came out of-

[00:29:41] That where her smile said otherwise?

[00:29:43] Yes.

[00:29:44] Her smile, yes, yes.

[00:29:45] Because instead of doing something

[00:29:46] and making a choice where she's like fanning herself

[00:29:49] or she's like, oh, impropriety,

[00:29:51] it was like, she was like, I'm thirsty.

[00:29:52] She does the classic, classic Craco.

[00:29:55] No one does it better than Craco.

[00:29:57] It's not funny.

[00:29:57] No one does it better than Craco.

[00:29:59] Mm-hmm.

[00:30:00] I love being in when calls to heart Facebook groups.

[00:30:06] It just is always fun.

[00:30:07] Tell me everything.

[00:30:08] And so I will read for you.

[00:30:11] Oh no.

[00:30:11] My favorite back and forth from the weekend.

[00:30:14] Margaret says, sad they have to have him shirtless

[00:30:18] to even compete with Lucas.

[00:30:20] Lucas was never shirtless to be sexy.

[00:30:24] Judith says, stop already, give it up.

[00:30:27] Patty says, just so you know,

[00:30:30] there's nothing Lucas could do that would make him sexy.

[00:30:34] He's hopeless.

[00:30:37] Gigi says, they're both very handsome, shirtless or not.

[00:30:40] Don't underestimate that they're both looking fabulous.

[00:30:44] And then Eleanor pipes in with,

[00:30:47] I always wonder what food had dripped onto his mangy beard.

[00:30:52] Yuck, disgusting.

[00:30:54] If L was so sexy, why would he have to buy E's love?

[00:30:59] And so I would just say, if you're not in the groups,

[00:31:03] it's a good time.

[00:31:04] I'm gonna use that as my field.

[00:31:05] I just kind of sit back, I read,

[00:31:09] and I have myself a good time because

[00:31:12] a lot of people have opinions and that's,

[00:31:16] and I knew once I saw shirtless,

[00:31:18] I said, I know where I'm going now to these groups.

[00:31:22] And that's just one of many conversations I've seen.

[00:31:25] Will you share that with me?

[00:31:27] I'm gonna look at that when I'm feeling low.

[00:31:30] It's a lot of fun.

[00:31:31] I love that so much.

[00:31:31] And I wanna just to PSA to all the hearties out there.

[00:31:34] If you were listening to that

[00:31:35] and felt strongly in favor of one comment or over another,

[00:31:41] you need to back off and not watch for a few weeks.

[00:31:43] Take a few moments off.

[00:31:46] That's that is a good time.

[00:31:48] Wait, wait, wait, wait, Dan, what about Gigi?

[00:31:49] Who said they both looked great shirtless or not?

[00:31:51] Gigi would be the one who's like, yes Gigi, you get it.

[00:31:56] But I just wanna say this.

[00:31:58] If you listen to our show and you go,

[00:32:01] feel like there being a little mean this week.

[00:32:03] Head on in to any of the Wickels,

[00:32:07] the Heart Facebook groups.

[00:32:08] Or the Brutal.

[00:32:09] Brutal out there.

[00:32:10] Listen to old when calls the heart episodes without Jacks.

[00:32:14] And you'll find that things get a little meaner

[00:32:17] without Jacks than with her.

[00:32:21] So there, you could do both of those things.

[00:32:24] Anybody that says we're especially mean this season.

[00:32:26] I'm like, did you listen to the season two episodes?

[00:32:28] Did you listen to those when we were in Hamilton?

[00:32:31] Did you miss all of those episodes?

[00:32:33] Are you sure?

[00:32:34] Okay, you say so.

[00:32:36] Carol says the thing is, is it was gross and nasty.

[00:32:41] Wasn't even attractive at all.

[00:32:43] Bones and skeleton, gross, yuck.

[00:32:47] Nathan needs to keep it all to himself.

[00:32:49] To which people remind them he was showering in his own house.

[00:32:53] But also Kevin McGarry unequivocally look great shirtless.

[00:33:00] Like you don't have to be team Nathan to be like,

[00:33:03] dude works out.

[00:33:04] Like right?

[00:33:05] Come on.

[00:33:07] I'm actually surprised they decided to go for that angle.

[00:33:11] What I would think they would have done,

[00:33:12] because yeah, it's absolutely like he looks great.

[00:33:15] He's in very good shape.

[00:33:16] I'm surprised they weren't saying like how improper it is

[00:33:19] and it's not a show like that.

[00:33:21] But I guess they were,

[00:33:22] they just really want to go for the jugular.

[00:33:24] Yeah, that's why I think faith is in Fiona or a thing.

[00:33:28] Why not?

[00:33:29] Luanne Luanne says shirtless enough.

[00:33:32] He's goofy.

[00:33:33] He's goofy.

[00:33:37] Was it a good goofy or bad goofy?

[00:33:38] Can you tell?

[00:33:39] I think it's bad.

[00:33:40] I think it's bad.

[00:33:41] I think it's bad.

[00:33:42] It's bad goofy to me.

[00:33:43] It's bad goofy.

[00:33:44] We're gonna take a quick break.

[00:33:45] We're going to come back.

[00:33:46] We're going to get to the way what's in the,

[00:33:47] what's called my heart here on deck the hallmark.

[00:33:59] Hello everybody.

[00:34:00] Welcome back where we're talking about

[00:34:02] the Winkals of Heart season 11 episode three.

[00:34:05] Time for the way what is where we're talking about

[00:34:07] one of this episode made us go away.

[00:34:07] What?

[00:34:08] Jax.

[00:34:10] So Dan, you very astutely mentioned this.

[00:34:14] I don't like at all.

[00:34:17] And I'm like, wait, is that what they're doing?

[00:34:19] That they're still kind of having this little bit

[00:34:21] of a love triangle thing.

[00:34:23] And I'm not seeing it from Lucas.

[00:34:25] But when Elizabeth is talking to Lucas

[00:34:27] and asking if she can walk with him,

[00:34:29] it's seeming very flirty.

[00:34:30] It's giving that vibe.

[00:34:32] And I say this as someone who has been like this

[00:34:36] to people that they have broken up with.

[00:34:38] Like she needs everyone to like her.

[00:34:40] And it's like, you just kind of have to give him,

[00:34:43] like you can be cordial, you can be nice,

[00:34:45] eventually can be friends,

[00:34:46] but I just feel like she's still trying

[00:34:48] and graciating herself and get,

[00:34:51] you know, attention from him.

[00:34:52] And I don't like it.

[00:34:54] Please don't do it anymore.

[00:34:56] Stop.

[00:34:57] When he walks away after their talk,

[00:34:59] their walk and talk,

[00:35:00] she has this smile on her face.

[00:35:02] Like, I just listen guys,

[00:35:06] it's been going on since season six.

[00:35:08] It's season 11.

[00:35:09] You double crosses twice.

[00:35:10] It's a double, double cross.

[00:35:12] Stop.

[00:35:13] She said she doesn't like him.

[00:35:14] She said, I just don't feel the same way about Lucas.

[00:35:18] Not in this episode.

[00:35:19] No, I know, I know.

[00:35:20] I'm just saying we end in the scene.

[00:35:21] We've done all this with Nathan, Brandon.

[00:35:22] We've done all this with Nathan.

[00:35:24] We've done all this.

[00:35:24] Don't act like you can come to me

[00:35:26] with quotes from Elizabeth.

[00:35:27] Everett, stop!

[00:35:28] Are you kidding me right now?

[00:35:30] Did you try to quote the show at me?

[00:35:31] I tried.

[00:35:32] We did all this with Nathan.

[00:35:33] I know.

[00:35:34] Okay.

[00:35:35] All I'm saying is.

[00:35:36] So, I'm just saying she's given him eyes.

[00:35:38] Right.

[00:35:39] This is where we started last year

[00:35:41] when she was engaged with Lucas

[00:35:43] and look where we at.

[00:35:44] Okay, but really quickly.

[00:35:46] Yes, yes, to your point, sure.

[00:35:48] But they basically demanded she makes a choice.

[00:35:52] She made a choice.

[00:35:53] And at the end of last season,

[00:35:54] she said, never really felt the way.

[00:35:58] I never really felt it.

[00:35:59] So either you never really felt it

[00:36:02] or you are still feeling it.

[00:36:05] You're because.

[00:36:05] You've decided that's the line when the show was like,

[00:36:08] yes, I've actually told the truth the whole time.

[00:36:10] I think that for what it's worth,

[00:36:13] they did force her into a corner

[00:36:15] and said, you gotta make a choice.

[00:36:17] She made a choice.

[00:36:18] Who is they?

[00:36:19] They collectively.

[00:36:20] Who?

[00:36:21] I don't know.

[00:36:22] It felt like, hey, you gotta pick one.

[00:36:23] She took three seasons.

[00:36:24] I know.

[00:36:25] And it was too much.

[00:36:26] And they said.

[00:36:27] And then they were together for two seasons.

[00:36:28] They was like, hey, make your pick.

[00:36:31] Five seasons in television.

[00:36:33] That's like a lifetime.

[00:36:34] All I'm saying is you don't even believe you're the first.

[00:36:37] She ended the season by.

[00:36:39] I'm not, I'm saying I'm with you.

[00:36:41] It's dove.

[00:36:42] I'm with you.

[00:36:43] You can't do it.

[00:36:44] You can't do this again.

[00:36:46] She said, I don't feel that way.

[00:36:50] I never have.

[00:36:53] We did it.

[00:36:54] I know what's louder in the camp of, hey, we're here now.

[00:37:00] Let's, let's, let's kiss.

[00:37:03] Let's get engaged.

[00:37:04] Let's get married this season.

[00:37:06] Let's do it this season.

[00:37:07] Let's do it this season.

[00:37:09] The best version of what we can do right now

[00:37:11] with this show is hope that it's over.

[00:37:13] And to the fan, to the Lucas fans out there,

[00:37:18] you don't want Elizabeth anymore, right?

[00:37:21] Like you're mad.

[00:37:22] You're mad.

[00:37:23] So you can't, you, they cannot flip back.

[00:37:26] They just came the Nathan fans were mad, right?

[00:37:28] Yeah, but they give it a proper amount of time.

[00:37:30] You can't do it this season.

[00:37:32] That's the proper amount of time.

[00:37:33] You can't do it this season.

[00:37:34] If she's engaged to Nathan,

[00:37:37] is Lucas back on the table for her?

[00:37:39] They would consider it a win at that point.

[00:37:40] Okay.

[00:37:40] All right.

[00:37:45] Right.

[00:37:46] What a mess.

[00:37:46] You did.

[00:37:47] Do you disagree?

[00:37:48] If we wait a season, they'd be like, okay.

[00:37:51] Yeah, she came to our senses.

[00:37:53] The only thing you're saying makes sense

[00:37:55] because of how bad the show is.

[00:37:56] The only reason I disagree is you're just making,

[00:37:58] like you're just using the calendar

[00:38:02] that the show has used to make sense.

[00:38:06] I'm in this universe.

[00:38:09] And you're trying to make sense of what they're doing.

[00:38:11] I'm in this universe.

[00:38:13] Yeah.

[00:38:13] Yep.

[00:38:13] We all are.

[00:38:14] Okay.

[00:38:15] Do you have other way?

[00:38:16] What's Jack?

[00:38:16] Sorry.

[00:38:18] No, I'm going to leave it to you gentlemen.

[00:38:20] I think you're going to have quite a few.

[00:38:21] Yeah.

[00:38:22] That was the big one though.

[00:38:23] Like what are we doing there?

[00:38:24] What are we doing?

[00:38:26] The episode does start with Bill on the ground looking at rocks.

[00:38:33] And like then he runs over and then he comes over

[00:38:35] and he picks up the manhole thing.

[00:38:38] But I'm not entirely sure why he was on the ground

[00:38:40] looking at the rocks.

[00:38:41] Because it's five months later.

[00:38:43] There's no way there could be footprints or tire tracks

[00:38:46] or anything there.

[00:38:47] There is literally no reason why he should be looking at it.

[00:38:49] It did the job.

[00:38:50] It immediately drew me in.

[00:38:51] I was immediately like, what's this guy up to?

[00:38:53] But we don't know why.

[00:38:54] But I'm not entirely sure why he really got on.

[00:38:55] I'm sure someone who's a big Winkals heart fan

[00:38:57] could help us there.

[00:38:58] But we don't know why he was ear to the ground.

[00:39:01] Ear to the ground.

[00:39:02] Five months after a crime scene had happened in 1919.

[00:39:07] I understand that the two kids are mad at each other.

[00:39:10] But she left without eating any of her food.

[00:39:12] And I do like at least the guy with the boy,

[00:39:16] who I forget his name now, it's

[00:39:19] what are their names?

[00:39:20] I wrote it down here.

[00:39:22] Cooper and Angela.

[00:39:24] Cooper at least says I'm taking my plate

[00:39:26] and I'm going to go eat.

[00:39:27] Angela's like, I'm done.

[00:39:28] I don't even want to be here.

[00:39:30] I'm going to go hang out with Ali.

[00:39:34] Any good parent would go, hey, hold on.

[00:39:36] You haven't even touched your dinner yet, right?

[00:39:39] Like you got to at least touch it, right?

[00:39:42] Right?

[00:39:43] Yeah.

[00:39:44] Yeah.

[00:39:44] Well, yeah, you just have to,

[00:39:46] my rule is that you have to eat in your food.

[00:39:47] You just can't be excused until you've asked to be.

[00:39:50] She just do stuff, but you want,

[00:39:51] if just cause she's mad,

[00:39:53] you just cause your kids mad,

[00:39:55] you're going to let them leave the table

[00:39:56] without touching the food.

[00:39:58] Yeah, that's tough.

[00:39:58] It's tough.

[00:39:59] It's tough.

[00:40:02] I'll save that part for the...

[00:40:04] Poop some valleys.

[00:40:06] I did get a kick out of the fact

[00:40:08] that two cars drive into the woods.

[00:40:12] None of them carrying the governor

[00:40:13] who's having a hard time walking.

[00:40:15] He had to walk.

[00:40:16] They've made him say, hey,

[00:40:17] can you go talk to Elizabeth?

[00:40:19] Then we'll pick you up.

[00:40:21] They could have done that.

[00:40:22] They could have done that,

[00:40:22] but no, they said, go talk to Elizabeth

[00:40:24] and then meet us out in the woods

[00:40:25] and you just kind of hobble your way there.

[00:40:27] Well, if you could just hobble it,

[00:40:30] hobble it, it'll be really, really good for us.

[00:40:32] You're just the governor.

[00:40:33] You're not that important.

[00:40:35] You just hobble your way out there.

[00:40:36] Dana?

[00:40:37] You remember last episode

[00:40:39] when Lee Coulter convinced his wife

[00:40:42] that they should acquire a new business?

[00:40:44] One, because he can make poor Hickam work

[00:40:47] at the whole time and they would make all the money

[00:40:49] because capitalism.

[00:40:50] And two, that that extra company

[00:40:53] would require less of their time.

[00:40:55] It takes less than one episode

[00:40:58] for Lee to be manning the bar at the Queen of Hearts.

[00:41:01] He is there.

[00:41:02] He's scrubbing tables.

[00:41:04] He's tending bar.

[00:41:05] He's lending an ear.

[00:41:07] It took under one episode.

[00:41:10] What is he doing?

[00:41:13] It's during the day.

[00:41:14] He runs a lumber company and kind of a newspaper.

[00:41:17] You can't just be there.

[00:41:19] You can't just be there and do that.

[00:41:21] But Hickam needs to go on a day date.

[00:41:23] Yeah, exactly.

[00:41:24] So I'm just saying maybe it's gonna add

[00:41:27] a little bit more time.

[00:41:28] This one dude is complaining about Lucas,

[00:41:30] how he doesn't really listen to us.

[00:41:32] And Kevin Smith Lee Coulter says,

[00:41:35] you don't think that Lucas has everyone's

[00:41:37] best interest at heart?

[00:41:38] That's impossible.

[00:41:40] It's impossible to have everyone's best interest at heart.

[00:41:43] It just is.

[00:41:44] That's just how life and math work.

[00:41:47] The angriest I got in this episode

[00:41:49] was at our no man.

[00:41:50] Elizabeth.

[00:41:51] Elizabeth goes to, I believe Rosemary and says,

[00:41:55] why didn't Lucas tell me he was coming back?

[00:41:58] She's angry about that.

[00:42:00] Yeah.

[00:42:01] Lady, you told him

[00:42:04] that you never really felt anything for him ever.

[00:42:09] That's what you said.

[00:42:11] You don't get his itinerary.

[00:42:13] You know what, what is that?

[00:42:16] Thank you.

[00:42:17] You broke up with the governor.

[00:42:20] You said you were supposed to marry this guy.

[00:42:24] You said, you know what, it turns out

[00:42:25] I never really loved you.

[00:42:28] And now you're mad?

[00:42:30] He didn't send a memo telling you

[00:42:33] when he was coming to town?

[00:42:36] Get bent.

[00:42:37] Are you kidding me right now?

[00:42:39] Are you kidding me?

[00:42:41] No, no.

[00:42:44] Stop it.

[00:42:46] Get some help.

[00:42:48] I'm sorry.

[00:42:49] Got a lot of hand.

[00:42:51] The importance of good journalism

[00:42:55] is important that we all know it.

[00:42:57] And none other than when calls the heart

[00:42:59] apparently he's gonna teach us that lesson this week

[00:43:01] which is just crazy to me.

[00:43:04] When calls the heart decides

[00:43:06] to teach us a lesson about like printing the facts

[00:43:09] even when the facts don't favor you

[00:43:11] or help your monetary outcome.

[00:43:14] And I just didn't see it coming

[00:43:17] from Hope Valley taking that stance.

[00:43:19] A reminder that leaves the worst.

[00:43:21] That's right.

[00:43:22] Yeah, a weekly reminder.

[00:43:24] And then lastly, Nathan decides to bring Scout

[00:43:27] his dog over to Elizabeth's house.

[00:43:31] And he's working on training out in the yard

[00:43:33] until she comes out and he's doing sit

[00:43:35] and different types of sit.

[00:43:37] Also Scout just will is so trained

[00:43:40] that he'll just be complete.

[00:43:41] He can do statue, which I didn't know was a command.

[00:43:43] Scout can stay completely still and stare

[00:43:45] at what is clearly a treat off screen

[00:43:47] whenever you want him to.

[00:43:48] And then he runs when he sees Elizabeth

[00:43:51] and Elizabeth's like still working on that training, huh?

[00:43:53] And Nathan looked disappointingly is like

[00:43:56] he's a work in progress.

[00:43:58] Scout is the best boy.

[00:44:01] He's literally the best boy.

[00:44:03] He's done everything you ask him to do.

[00:44:06] First of all, how dare you?

[00:44:08] How dare you?

[00:44:09] This dog is so trained and is there all the time.

[00:44:13] And if he knew you were talking about him like this,

[00:44:16] he'd run away.

[00:44:17] That is unbelievable.

[00:44:18] He's such a trained dog.

[00:44:19] How dare you?

[00:44:20] How dare you talk about Scout like that?

[00:44:22] That's all I got.

[00:44:23] Did you say get bent?

[00:44:25] I did.

[00:44:26] Maybe edit it out.

[00:44:27] I don't know.

[00:44:28] Oh, wow.

[00:44:29] I was trying to think of a not four letter word.

[00:44:32] Get bent.

[00:44:34] It's time for a disagree here.

[00:44:37] Anybody disagree?

[00:44:38] No, okay.

[00:44:39] I'm right with you.

[00:44:40] You didn't call another person of skeleton today.

[00:44:43] So I think you're doing pretty good.

[00:44:46] It's time for a hopes and valleys.

[00:44:49] Where we talk about the things that maybe we're

[00:44:53] bringing us some joy about the maybe bumming us out

[00:44:55] either one.

[00:44:57] Jacks.

[00:44:59] I'm going to say two hopes.

[00:45:01] One, which will be very unpopular.

[00:45:04] I'm excited about the state care center.

[00:45:07] Oh.

[00:45:07] What's going to happen there?

[00:45:08] I'm excited to see.

[00:45:09] I don't know if you noticed,

[00:45:11] I didn't make the cut.

[00:45:12] For me, it didn't make the cut.

[00:45:17] And it is probably between the mask and gallon

[00:45:19] and the scenes with the guys,

[00:45:21] probably five or seven minutes worth of screen time.

[00:45:23] That was so cute.

[00:45:24] Lily is so cute.

[00:45:25] And I'm excited to see everyone volunteering there.

[00:45:28] Like, why not?

[00:45:29] I mean, yes, is this show already over stuff

[00:45:32] with too many characters and plot lines?

[00:45:34] Sure.

[00:45:35] But this looks cute.

[00:45:36] I've never seen a,

[00:45:38] we need something for Henry Gowen to do more than

[00:45:40] what if he builds him a daycare or lets him use the space?

[00:45:45] He's like stroming a guitar.

[00:45:47] Who is the guy that killed all of our husbands?

[00:45:50] What if we got, what's his name?

[00:45:54] He killed all of our husbands.

[00:45:55] All of our sons, some of our sons.

[00:45:57] What if we got the guy that killed our husbands and sons

[00:46:02] to, what can we do?

[00:46:05] Maybe, you know the guy responsible

[00:46:07] for the forgive me, Pa situation?

[00:46:09] I'm not kidding you Pa.

[00:46:11] What if he just tried to take care of us?

[00:46:15] Listen, that's the beauty of forgiveness.

[00:46:18] It's the beauty of forgiveness.

[00:46:19] There's no testimony without test.

[00:46:20] Am I right?

[00:46:21] Give me Pa.

[00:46:23] Forgive me Pa.

[00:46:24] There's no center for minors without a killer for minors.

[00:46:26] Am I right?

[00:46:27] Stop, stop.

[00:46:29] Way down town, bang!

[00:46:33] Oh, I haven't thought about that

[00:46:36] but give me Pa in a long time.

[00:46:37] Thank you, Bran, for bringing it back.

[00:46:39] You're a wife.

[00:46:41] What's her thoughts on minors and-

[00:46:45] She thinks that all mine deaths are hope.

[00:46:47] You know that?

[00:46:49] Jackson, that.

[00:46:52] We are both big coal mine deaths folks, people.

[00:46:58] Like we both, we feel so strongly about it.

[00:47:03] That's where I propose.

[00:47:06] You know that right?

[00:47:07] I know that.

[00:47:08] Jackson knows that of course.

[00:47:10] Yeah, of course.

[00:47:12] So they, listen I know, you know,

[00:47:15] Jackson said the show's a little over stuffed.

[00:47:17] I've made a point about it.

[00:47:20] I do have a bit of a concern.

[00:47:22] They do a thing here where they set up,

[00:47:26] that Joseph has a story with his brother.

[00:47:30] They already did this with Rosemary.

[00:47:32] She had a sister out of nowhere.

[00:47:35] My concern is we're never gonna hear about it again.

[00:47:38] That it was just a,

[00:47:40] hey, I have a brother you don't know about him.

[00:47:44] We haven't talked and then that's gonna be the end.

[00:47:46] I would like to see,

[00:47:49] I know I'm going against myself here

[00:47:51] because I don't want anything else.

[00:47:52] It's over stuff.

[00:47:53] Bring in a brother.

[00:47:56] I'm now a champion of the Viv Leecock fan club

[00:48:01] and I just want more Viv on screen.

[00:48:03] And so give me a story arc of him

[00:48:07] going to patch things up with his brother.

[00:48:08] Like, hey kids, you guys patching things up

[00:48:11] has inspired me to take my own advice

[00:48:14] and go make things right with my brother.

[00:48:16] It's like we're trading for the rankings.

[00:48:18] I would be willing to take out daycare stuff

[00:48:21] and Hickam May Sue stuff for that.

[00:48:24] Yes, I would be willing to do that.

[00:48:25] That would be nice though, right?

[00:48:26] Him making things right with his brother?

[00:48:28] Jackson.

[00:48:29] No, no, no, I agree.

[00:48:30] I agree that would, no, that would be,

[00:48:31] I guess guys, we do need those 22 episodes

[00:48:34] to get in everything that we're all asking.

[00:48:36] We're all asking for too much.

[00:48:37] What we're asking for is more when calls the heart.

[00:48:39] I think that's very clear.

[00:48:41] This is very clear here.

[00:48:42] How are you doing?

[00:48:43] Yeah, last week on Friday,

[00:48:45] we got to interview Pascal Hutton.

[00:48:46] She was lovely and a joy.

[00:48:49] And I hope she comes back on the show.

[00:48:51] She was so wonderful.

[00:48:52] And she did, it was,

[00:48:54] I can't believe she let this slip out,

[00:48:56] but did kind of confirm that Nathan

[00:48:59] did try to kill Lucas.

[00:49:02] And so I thought we'd not say anything,

[00:49:05] but then I was like, you know what,

[00:49:06] let's talk about it.

[00:49:07] For my hope in Valley,

[00:49:09] I'm just going to flow it out that that's still a possibility.

[00:49:12] It's a theory.

[00:49:13] It's out there that he, look,

[00:49:16] Lucas looks at the person that shot Lucas,

[00:49:19] can't be that guy in jail because Lucas knows him,

[00:49:23] looks at him and goes, what are you doing here?

[00:49:28] Okay.

[00:49:29] So I'm just saying he's a Mountie.

[00:49:35] He shoots him.

[00:49:37] He's clearly a terrible shot because he misses his leg.

[00:49:41] Then he falls, then he gets on the case

[00:49:45] to solve it and get back to Valley and Elizabeth.

[00:49:51] So Pascal Hutton did kind of confirm it.

[00:49:54] I'm running with it.

[00:49:56] She did not confirm it.

[00:49:58] Nathan shot Lucas.

[00:50:01] Pascal did, Pascal,

[00:50:02] I put words in her mouth.

[00:50:03] She did not confirm it, but she did laugh.

[00:50:06] She didn't deny it.

[00:50:08] She didn't say no.

[00:50:09] She didn't say no.

[00:50:10] So last year my big theory was Nathan,

[00:50:13] Elizabeth's going to leave Lucas and go with Nathan.

[00:50:15] You guys were like, no, that's ridiculous.

[00:50:17] That's crazy.

[00:50:18] My big theory this year, Nathan shot Lucas.

[00:50:22] Why stop there though?

[00:50:23] Nathan shot.

[00:50:24] What if, what if, what if Elizabeth

[00:50:28] and Nathan put it together?

[00:50:31] Elizabeth and Nathan did it together?

[00:50:34] I don't know.

[00:50:35] That's crazy.

[00:50:37] No, I could totally see it.

[00:50:39] I could totally see Nathan.

[00:50:40] Now Nathan's out there just being shirtless

[00:50:43] in his own house.

[00:50:44] Like he's got the confidence of somebody who shot him man.

[00:50:47] That's all I'm saying.

[00:50:48] And then we'll do it again.

[00:50:50] And we'll do it again if push came to shove.

[00:50:52] Do we have a what's calling my heart, Dana?

[00:50:54] Where people can email in hellodeckthehomer.com

[00:50:56] and tell us what they're digging.

[00:50:58] What's calling their hearts?

[00:50:59] This is from Hilary Kovacs.

[00:51:00] Hi, Hilary.

[00:51:02] Jacks, Bran and Dan.

[00:51:04] Hi there.

[00:51:05] Here's to another season of when calls the heart.

[00:51:07] This has certainly been said before,

[00:51:08] but can't be said enough.

[00:51:09] My heart is constantly being called by movie

[00:51:12] and show chats with the double-deckers.

[00:51:14] There is no other group I would rather get through

[00:51:16] the ups and downs of all the Hallmark content

[00:51:19] and also just a bunch of life ups and downs as well

[00:51:22] with then the DD fam.

[00:51:24] And honestly, the best way to make it through

[00:51:26] another season of when calls the heart

[00:51:28] is to do it with this crew here.

[00:51:30] Thanks always for the fun, double-deckers,

[00:51:33] and thanks to the three of you too, I guess, Hilary.

[00:51:36] Now, Hilary, if you're watching on the radio,

[00:51:38] I did yawn during that.

[00:51:40] That's not you.

[00:51:41] That was very sweet.

[00:51:42] Wow.

[00:51:43] That was very, so this has been a long day.

[00:51:45] Yeah.

[00:51:46] I just want to put it,

[00:51:47] I didn't want people to think that it was a yawn.

[00:51:52] I thought your email was wonderful

[00:51:53] and the long day was made better because of it.

[00:51:54] It actually was the nail in the coffin for Bran though.

[00:51:57] It was on the more boring side, but like sweets.

[00:52:02] It was sweet boring.

[00:52:03] It was sweet boring.

[00:52:05] What are you doing?

[00:52:06] I'm kidding, it was amazing.

[00:52:07] We love you, Hilary.

[00:52:08] Don't listen to Bran.

[00:52:10] Jax, tell people how they can find ya.

[00:52:12] Ha ha ha ha ha!

[00:52:13] Ha ha ha ha!

[00:52:15] Are we doing that again?

[00:52:17] Are you, what are you promoting this week, Jax?

[00:52:19] What are you promoting?

[00:52:20] Promote whatever you want to.

[00:52:21] I don't see any sequins or sparkles

[00:52:22] or vibrators anywhere.

[00:52:23] What do you got?

[00:52:25] My dad's 83rd birthday.

[00:52:26] Happy birthday.

[00:52:28] For he's a jolly Japan!

[00:52:31] We'll be back next week very Christmas.
