[00:00:00] Hey-oh!

[00:00:01] Hey-oh.

[00:00:02] Bramble, I'm so excited!

[00:00:03] I love One Calls The Heart.

[00:00:12] Hi, I'm Jax and I like One Calls The Heart.

[00:00:16] I'm Dan, I'm so excited!

[00:00:18] I hate this show so much.

[00:00:20] This is the Deck The Hallmark Podcast.

[00:00:21] Deck The Hallmark, it's this podcast.

[00:00:22] Brinkley and friends host this podcast.

[00:00:23] We hope you like this podcast.

[00:00:24] Hi, everybody.

[00:00:25] Oh, boy.

[00:00:28] It's great to be here today.

[00:00:29] Boy, isn't it?

[00:00:30] We're back.

[00:00:31] Right before we started, Jax mentioned—hey, bud, how's it going?

[00:00:32] Jax mentioned that she was excited because next week was episode 11 and I had to be the

[00:00:33] one to tell her, I'm sorry.

[00:00:34] That's right.

[00:00:35] I'm sorry.

[00:00:36] And I'm sorry for you.

[00:00:40] I'm sorry.

[00:00:41] I'm sorry.

[00:00:42] I'm sorry.

[00:00:43] I'm sorry.

[00:00:44] I'm sorry.

[00:00:45] I'm sorry.

[00:00:46] I'm sorry.

[00:00:47] I'm sorry.

[00:00:48] I'm sorry.

[00:00:49] I'm sorry.

[00:00:50] I'm sorry.

[00:00:51] I'm sorry.

[00:00:52] I'm sorry.

[00:00:53] I'm sorry.

[00:00:54] I'm sorry.

[00:00:55] I'm sorry.

[00:00:56] I'm sorry.

[00:00:57] I'm sorry.

[00:00:58] I'm sorry.

[00:00:59] I'm sorry.

[00:01:00] I'm sorry.

[00:01:01] I'm sorry.

[00:01:02] You're mistaken.

[00:01:03] This is only episode nine.

[00:01:04] Next week is 10.

[00:01:05] Yeah, I was kind of rubbing it in.

[00:01:07] I was like, well, my kiss is going to happen next week.

[00:01:10] Penultimate episode, baby.

[00:01:12] This is the pen, pen, penultimate episode.

[00:01:16] That's right.

[00:01:17] That's right.

[00:01:18] Well, speaking of pen, oh, I miss Pen15.

[00:01:21] Wasn't that a great show?

[00:01:22] The best.

[00:01:23] Oh, my goodness.

[00:01:24] I haven't seen it.

[00:01:25] It's all just finest.

[00:01:26] Myerskine National Treasure.

[00:01:29] Richard Karn.

[00:01:30] I love Richard Karn.

[00:01:31] In the show.

[00:01:32] And then the girl that played her friend, who was that?

[00:01:35] I don't remember her name.

[00:01:36] Oh, I forget her name, but she is hilarious too, and I love how they're real life best

[00:01:43] friends.

[00:01:44] Yeah, exactly.

[00:01:45] But her playing her middle school self and making it like you feel like she is in middle

[00:01:50] school, it was so impressive.

[00:01:52] Like so, so impressive.

[00:01:54] Yeah, and I think you guys know like too being around middle school kids and like I coach

[00:01:58] a lot of middle school girls.

[00:02:01] It was so incredible to watch that and be like they're putting nothing on it.

[00:02:06] Like it is just them being their middle school selves.

[00:02:10] With that being said, I was glad they didn't actually kiss any 14 year old boy.

[00:02:14] Yeah, that was a weird line, but you could never reverse that and it'd be okay.

[00:02:19] But it's a phenomenal show.

[00:02:21] Jax and I are starting a podcast where we review shows from four years ago.

[00:02:24] We're talking about Wiggles the Heart, right?

[00:02:27] Do you guys remember?

[00:02:28] Every year we're going to pick our favorite shows from four years ago and we're going

[00:02:32] to review them.

[00:02:33] It's going to be, people are going to love it.

[00:02:34] They're going to be calling it.

[00:02:35] It's going to be called Freshman Year.

[00:02:38] And it's just everything.

[00:02:40] It's all four years ago.

[00:02:41] That's right.

[00:02:42] Yes.

[00:02:43] I really like that.

[00:02:44] I don't know.

[00:02:45] Guys, don't throw me with a good time.

[00:02:46] Jax, what's new with you?

[00:02:50] Well, since last we saw each other.

[00:02:53] Which was last week.

[00:02:54] Last week.

[00:02:55] Last week.

[00:02:56] Since last week.

[00:02:57] I'm trying to think.

[00:02:58] Nothing crazy has happened in my life.

[00:02:59] Nothing cataclysmic.

[00:03:00] I got a-

[00:03:01] How are the buildings up there?

[00:03:02] The buildings?

[00:03:03] Yeah.

[00:03:04] Like in New York City?

[00:03:05] Yeah, how are they doing?

[00:03:06] They're great.

[00:03:07] They're doing really, really well.

[00:03:08] Love that.

[00:03:09] How is your commercial?

[00:03:10] How is the commercial you were a part of?

[00:03:11] Was there a commercial?

[00:03:12] Yeah.

[00:03:14] I was in New York City.

[00:03:15] I was in New York City.

[00:03:16] I was in New York City.

[00:03:17] I was in New York City.

[00:03:18] I was in New York City.

[00:03:19] I was in New York City.

[00:03:20] I was in New York City.

[00:03:22] Was there a commercial that I was-

[00:03:23] You were doing some acting work, right?

[00:03:26] Answering a phone commercial?

[00:03:27] Wait, guys, did this really happen?

[00:03:30] Yeah.

[00:03:31] You asked us to go start a meeting.

[00:03:35] No, you were for rehearsals.

[00:03:37] Okay, yes, yes.

[00:03:39] Wait, is this for the rehearsals that I'm doing?

[00:03:41] Is that what I said?

[00:03:42] The way we understood it is you were an actor that got hired to do basically-

[00:03:47] And you answer a phone?

[00:03:48] You answer a phone in the background?

[00:03:51] I thought it was for a commercial.

[00:03:53] For like a lawyer?

[00:03:54] Oh my gosh, wait, wait, wait.

[00:03:57] Okay, no, no, no.

[00:03:58] Now I know what you're talking about.

[00:03:59] Thank God.

[00:04:00] I was like, am I going crazy?

[00:04:01] I'm so sorry.

[00:04:02] No, so this is what happens.

[00:04:04] I go into law firms and I pretend that I am a client, so I train their lawyers.

[00:04:11] So the only people I'm performing for are lawyers.

[00:04:16] So it's not a commercial.

[00:04:18] I thought it was a commercial for lawyers.

[00:04:19] It's not a commercial.

[00:04:20] No, when I say I'm being paid to be an actor on those days, like it's a stretch.

[00:04:25] Like I'm-

[00:04:26] Okay, let's try this, okay?

[00:04:29] So I'll be like you be you and what you do and I'll be the lawyer.

[00:04:34] Yeah, welcome to Thompson.

[00:04:35] You're taking a deposition.

[00:04:37] Welcome to Thompson.

[00:04:38] I'm taking a deposition?

[00:04:39] Thompson and Gray Esquire.

[00:04:41] Welcome to Thompson and Gray Esquire.

[00:04:43] What are you?

[00:04:44] What's kind of your story?

[00:04:46] Hi, my name is Kellan Stump.

[00:04:48] Hi, Ms. Stump.

[00:04:49] How are you doing?

[00:04:50] Your name's funny.

[00:04:51] Kellan Stump.

[00:04:52] I've never been to a deposition before, so I don't really know what to expect.

[00:04:55] It's going to be so chill.

[00:04:57] So what's going to happen is we're all going to go to our corners and then Bran is going

[00:05:03] to, and I know this sounds wrong, but it's right, depose you is what he's going to do.

[00:05:08] Okay.

[00:05:09] And they said I could do that.

[00:05:11] That's right.

[00:05:12] This is a-

[00:05:14] They said I could.

[00:05:15] You're here to be deposed, correct?

[00:05:17] Is it going to hurt?

[00:05:19] No, I mean, not at, no, no, no.

[00:05:22] So not the way that we're going to do it.

[00:05:25] Now, I do want you to know, and I do want you to know that this is all, this is all

[00:05:30] obviously being recorded and it'll be played during-

[00:05:34] I'm going to be taking the minutes over here.

[00:05:36] I'm going to be recording and typing.

[00:05:37] It'll be for-

[00:05:38] And I'm going to keep sound effects to a minimum.

[00:05:40] Yeah.

[00:05:41] So on December, on December, you were where again?

[00:05:47] On December.

[00:05:48] I was, I was actually at Christmas Con.

[00:05:51] Right on.

[00:05:52] What do you do there?

[00:05:53] What's kind of that whole thing?

[00:05:54] I was doing a little bit of social media for them.

[00:05:58] I object.

[00:05:59] First of all, I do, I do want you to stop.

[00:06:02] I do want you to know, and I think that this is important.

[00:06:05] You can't, you're under oath.

[00:06:07] Okay.

[00:06:08] So is there anything you want to change?

[00:06:11] No.

[00:06:14] Wow.

[00:06:15] All right, that's good.

[00:06:16] All right.

[00:06:17] That was really good.

[00:06:18] This was worth doing.

[00:06:19] I thought it was really fun.

[00:06:20] You guys should be lawyers.

[00:06:21] You should be, yeah.

[00:06:22] I think it would be really fun.

[00:06:23] I think we'd have a good time.

[00:06:24] Like, I say this genuinely, you guys would make such good lawyers because they're not,

[00:06:28] they don't really know, a lot of them don't know how to be conversational yet and you

[00:06:32] guys do.

[00:06:33] You do it for your job.

[00:06:35] You know, I actually wanted to be a lawyer when I was younger and then when I realized

[00:06:39] that lawyering was 90% in a room researching the law, I was hard out.

[00:06:46] Yeah, but after a certain while, like you get, you have people that do that.

[00:06:50] Yeah, I guess, but like I wanted to be, I have a courtroom drama.

[00:06:54] I could watch them all day.

[00:06:55] Yes.

[00:06:56] Like A Few Good Men is one of my favorite movies ever, ever, ever.

[00:07:00] So like, that's what I wanted.

[00:07:02] I wanted to be Daniel Cathy from A Few Good Men who rolls in, you know, has his baseball

[00:07:07] bat as he's thinking about how to put Jess up on the stand.

[00:07:10] Like that's what I want to do.

[00:07:11] Like, I want to be that guy.

[00:07:13] A trial attorney.

[00:07:14] Yeah, yeah.

[00:07:15] But when I realized that even trial attorneys have to research the law, yeah, I was interested.

[00:07:23] I was interested at that point.

[00:07:24] That would have been fun.

[00:07:25] Oh yeah.

[00:07:26] I could have, Brian Harreld would be good at that part of it.

[00:07:30] I should go into law together is what we should do.

[00:07:32] Guys, I would love it if you had like a podcast and then like your side hustle is like a law firm.

[00:07:38] What if I did a podcast where it's I try to pass the bar?

[00:07:42] I don't know how this is a podcast.

[00:07:43] I try to pass the bar without going to law school.

[00:07:45] It's probably like a YouTube series.

[00:07:47] So I bring in a different lawyer every week to teach me something about the law.

[00:07:51] And after 25 episodes, I go and take the bar and try to pass it.

[00:07:56] I genuinely think you should do this.

[00:07:58] And I try to pass the bar to see if I can become a lawyer without going to law school.

[00:08:02] And I'm not trying to offend anybody, but like is it really that hard?

[00:08:06] It's very hard.

[00:08:07] Okay, good.

[00:08:08] Yeah.

[00:08:09] What is, uh, what, like it's hard?

[00:08:12] Reese Witherspoon?

[00:08:13] Yeah.

[00:08:14] Anyone?

[00:08:15] Wiggly Blonde?

[00:08:16] Yeah.

[00:08:17] Talk about going hard on the law?

[00:08:18] Yeah, it's classic.

[00:08:19] Sorry, I was trying to, I was reading a comment.

[00:08:20] It was good.

[00:08:21] It was good and I missed it.

[00:08:22] I know, I know.

[00:08:23] Like I don't even, I haven't been to like a lot of, a lot of bars, but I've been to enough

[00:08:28] to know like what works and what doesn't work.

[00:08:31] I guess that I got bad news for you, buddy.

[00:08:34] Different, different.

[00:08:35] This is an exam.

[00:08:36] It's an exam.

[00:08:37] I never tested well.

[00:08:38] Yeah.

[00:08:39] You didn't test very well.

[00:08:40] You weren't good at taking tests.

[00:08:41] I'm not good at taking tests.

[00:08:42] That's right.

[00:08:43] I get all in my head about it.

[00:08:44] You know what I mean?

[00:08:45] Which is, that was what I lived for was taking the test.

[00:08:46] I didn't, the rest of it, whatever, but I could take the test.

[00:08:49] That's what I'm saying.

[00:08:50] Kim Kardashian did it.

[00:08:51] That's right.

[00:08:52] I just, Kim Kardashian passed the bar.

[00:08:54] That's what Holly says.

[00:08:55] Wait, really?

[00:08:57] What?

[00:08:58] Okay, Holly.

[00:08:59] Good for Kim.

[00:09:00] Listen, she's smart.

[00:09:01] I just thought she wasn't smart.

[00:09:02] That's what you're surprised.

[00:09:03] I was surprised to learn that Kim Kardashian passed the bar.

[00:09:05] Yes, but that would be true about literally any, if you told me any like celebrity.

[00:09:10] Crandell Maxwell.

[00:09:11] No, well he's, he is, you know, uh, Kristen Jambourdina says no, she did not pass the

[00:09:15] bar.

[00:09:16] So, which makes more sense to me.

[00:09:18] I'm just saying, I think it's a cool idea for a podcast.

[00:09:21] You bring 25 different lawyers on and they each focus on something.

[00:09:24] I don't know how many, 20, 50, whatever.

[00:09:26] And then I got to see if I can use just that knowledge to go pass the bar.

[00:09:29] I think you could do it.

[00:09:30] You think so?

[00:09:31] Yeah.

[00:09:32] I think it'd be fun.

[00:09:33] But like is the test.

[00:09:34] I don't know what that does for me to be a lawyer.

[00:09:36] I think you would, yeah, you'd need to do, cause you need to pass the bar in South Carolina.

[00:09:42] Correct.

[00:09:43] So you would probably do all South Carolina lawyers, right?

[00:09:46] Yeah, yeah, yeah.

[00:09:47] I do think you could do it.

[00:09:49] I think, is it like, Hey, uh, statute 103.52, what is it?

[00:09:59] I think it's the questions are more leading than that.

[00:10:01] They're more like if something like a situational, but I don't know, we have lawyers that are

[00:10:06] double-deckers they, they should, they would know.

[00:10:10] This would be really fun because not only is it on you, Dan, it's interesting to see

[00:10:14] if these lawyers can impart what they've learned and gamify.

[00:10:21] I'm here for this experiment.

[00:10:22] Are you here for one calls to heart season 11?

[00:10:25] Can we talk more about, can Jackson, I actually started a podcast about courtroom, like TV

[00:10:31] courtroom drama.

[00:10:32] It's called the season 11 episode nine.

[00:10:35] What's it called?

[00:10:36] Bad.

[00:10:37] Take the bait.

[00:10:38] No, gone fishing.

[00:10:40] It is called truth be told.

[00:10:43] Hey, Kim Kardashian failed the bar.

[00:10:46] Thank you.

[00:10:47] Holly Goodfellow for the right information.

[00:10:48] Now, uh, Lisa says she passed the baby bar, baby bar.

[00:10:54] There's like, we can't be just giving babies alcohol at this hour.

[00:11:03] It's five o'clock somewhere.

[00:11:04] I get it.

[00:11:05] Rig told me that boss boss baby fest.

[00:11:07] If you pass the baby bar, you got free entry to boss baby.

[00:11:10] Well, that makes sense.

[00:11:11] That makes sense.

[00:11:12] I want as many lawyers in there as possible.

[00:11:16] So truth be told, June 2nd, 2024 is when this premiered.

[00:11:21] Okay.

[00:11:22] And it went a little something like this.

[00:11:26] Elizabeth is out there hanging clothes humming.

[00:11:30] She's in a good mood.

[00:11:31] She's happy.

[00:11:32] Uh, Rosemary comes out and gets right to it.

[00:11:34] Now that Tom's gone, you and Nathan carry on with it.

[00:11:39] Elizabeth is like, Oh, I'm not really in a hurry.

[00:11:42] Mind you, mind you still got three episodes left of the season, bro.

[00:11:46] Like nine, not 11.

[00:11:49] And I do, but I do appreciate Rosemary putting it all out there and letting the people know

[00:11:54] that she's with us.

[00:11:55] Uh, for some reason, Nathan is talking to faith, um, specifically talking to faith about

[00:12:02] how Ali's dad is still alive, but not around and is not a good dude.

[00:12:09] Ali is right there just listening in on all of this.

[00:12:13] Anyone could see her.

[00:12:14] Anyone, anyone with eyes?

[00:12:16] Uh, Lucas is hanging out in his office.

[00:12:21] Edwin and Gowan come in with some news.

[00:12:23] Montague is coming to town.

[00:12:28] Coming to town.

[00:12:29] It's going to seal this deal.

[00:12:30] Gonna, gonna, gonna make this happen.

[00:12:33] Elizabeth and little Jack go to see the horses.

[00:12:38] And luckily Nathan is there.

[00:12:40] Suspenders on buttoned, a little Jack wants to ride a horse.

[00:12:46] Elizabeth says, no sir, not yet.

[00:12:49] You're not old enough.

[00:12:50] And Nathan is like, yeah, what your mom said.

[00:12:53] Luckily is Bill Avery around.

[00:12:55] Bill Avery's there.

[00:12:56] He's there to just kind of look at the stables.

[00:12:58] He's in the stable.

[00:12:59] He's looking on.

[00:13:00] He's looking on.

[00:13:01] One of you shows up in town and the town sees this man stroll through and they're peed right

[00:13:09] They cannot believe that this man who really goofed things up last season or season before,

[00:13:16] I don't remember, would even show his face around here.

[00:13:19] Allie is sitting in the living room looking at a photo album, pictures of her dad.

[00:13:25] Nathan comes in and reminds her that her dad wamps.

[00:13:28] So you need to know this before you start talking about your dad.

[00:13:32] Your dad wamps.

[00:13:33] One of you tells Lucas that he's interested in obviously this resort and knows that nobody

[00:13:40] else is touching this deal with a 10 foot pole.

[00:13:44] So prepare yourself now for the offer that I'm going to make.

[00:13:49] It's not going to be a good one.

[00:13:50] It's going to be the only one he gets.

[00:13:53] And Edwin's over there being like, hey, we got another offer.

[00:13:55] We got another offer.

[00:13:56] Yeah, we do.

[00:13:58] Nathan finds Elizabeth sitting on a bench and asks her to take a horse ride with him

[00:14:03] on Sunday.

[00:14:04] Did you say horse?

[00:14:05] No, I did not.

[00:14:06] Okay.

[00:14:07] And she says, yes, I would like to do that.

[00:14:10] He then sees Allie and when Allie sees him, she goes in the opposite direction.

[00:14:14] So clearly she is mad at him.

[00:14:17] Luckily, Allie and Angela, they're talking and it's going to give her some advice.

[00:14:23] You know how you found my uncle.

[00:14:25] Maybe you should find your dad.

[00:14:26] Maybe you should talk to him.

[00:14:28] Bill and Rosemary try to get info out of Lucas about why Montague's in town.

[00:14:34] And Lucas says, now that I've seen him face to face, I know that he, even though he might

[00:14:39] hate me, did not try to kill me.

[00:14:43] And they're like, are you sure you want to go into business with this guy?

[00:14:46] He's like, it's going to be fine.

[00:14:47] But I do have one simple request for you, my friends.

[00:14:51] You keep Montague's identity as a potential backer of this year's resort as a secret.

[00:14:57] Easy, easy.

[00:14:59] No problem.

[00:15:00] Keith is sad this episode because Lily's grandma is back and she's healthy.

[00:15:07] She's coming back.

[00:15:08] She's coming back.

[00:15:09] She's healthy.

[00:15:10] That's a bummer, huh?

[00:15:11] And he's going to pick her up, maybe take her back.

[00:15:14] And she's like, I've really grown to...

[00:15:16] Maybe take her back.

[00:15:17] I don't know, maybe she'll move there.

[00:15:19] I don't know.

[00:15:20] I don't know her plans.

[00:15:21] I haven't talked to her personally.

[00:15:24] Bill buys Lil' Jack a pony without asking Elizabeth first.

[00:15:30] And you know, what did she really put her in a tough spot there with the pony situation?

[00:15:36] Allie tells Nathan, can you imagine if I show up at your house unannounced, Dan, and say,

[00:15:42] I've been thinking about your boys and how they might like ponies.

[00:15:49] And I already got them.

[00:15:53] I already have them right out here.

[00:15:55] Tough spot.

[00:15:56] And then your boys see them.

[00:15:58] Yeah, yeah.

[00:15:59] And your boys are like, what did Uncle Brian got?

[00:16:00] And then I'm like, no, it's a no on the pony.

[00:16:02] It's definitely not ponies for you boys.

[00:16:04] It's ponies for any other boys that might want them.

[00:16:09] It's not for you though.

[00:16:12] It's messed up, man.

[00:16:13] You can't do that.

[00:16:14] You can't do that.

[00:16:15] It's against the rules.

[00:16:16] Rosemary decides to run the story about Montague being the backer.

[00:16:20] Lucas comes in, guns a blazing real mad.

[00:16:23] You call yourself a friend.

[00:16:28] Allie tells Nathan that she wants to see her dad and he says no.

[00:16:32] They get in a huge fight.

[00:16:33] This scene happens three more times.

[00:16:38] So just know that it's going to come back again here in just a minute.

[00:16:43] Oh, here it is again.

[00:16:44] Nathan finally tells Allie, hey, your dad's in jail.

[00:16:48] She's like, I want to talk to him.

[00:16:50] He's like, no.

[00:16:51] The townspeople are mad when they see Montague.

[00:16:55] And he's like, yo, chill, chill.

[00:17:00] I'm just here for business.

[00:17:02] Bill gives little Jack a horse riding lesson.

[00:17:05] So that's fun.

[00:17:07] Elizabeth was like Nathan walks up and is like, what's going on here?

[00:17:10] Frigging I offered this not too long ago and you said no.

[00:17:13] Now you got over here.

[00:17:14] You got Bill.

[00:17:15] Bill buys a pony and immediately you flip flop.

[00:17:18] You're a flip flop.

[00:17:20] She says, you guys are right.

[00:17:21] He needs to learn to ride a horse sooner or later.

[00:17:25] Might as well be sooner.

[00:17:28] Nathan Allie talk.

[00:17:30] Allie says, I want to meet my dad.

[00:17:32] He's like the answer is no.

[00:17:35] Montague is hanging out at the stables at night when someone tackles them out of nowhere.

[00:17:41] Bill hears the horses going nuts.

[00:17:42] So there's something going on.

[00:17:46] He's like, I'm freaking out.

[00:17:48] Check out these horses and Montague's on the ground.

[00:17:50] He's beaten bloody.

[00:17:51] That's right.

[00:17:52] The legend, not death.

[00:17:53] This is the worst murder in the history of murder.

[00:17:58] The next day, Bill is catching up the gang on what happened with money.

[00:18:05] He's like, man, I just freaking found this guy.

[00:18:07] Horses going nuts.

[00:18:08] Found this guy.

[00:18:09] And he was he says, money.

[00:18:13] You said it was one person.

[00:18:14] He was blindsided, came out of nowhere, couldn't tell you who it was.

[00:18:17] Lucas then turns to Rosemary and says, this is all your fault.

[00:18:21] You witch.

[00:18:22] You wrote this article.

[00:18:23] I wish he called her a witch.

[00:18:26] You wrote this article and now look at us.

[00:18:29] Now look at him.

[00:18:30] He's probably going to pull out of this deal.

[00:18:31] And guess what?

[00:18:32] He does.

[00:18:33] He says, I'm withdrawing my bid.

[00:18:34] It's clear someone was trying to teach me or send me a message.

[00:18:39] God, I got that message loud and clear, baby.

[00:18:41] I'm out of here.

[00:18:43] Gowan tells Lucas, hey, do you think maybe it was New Orleans boo thing?

[00:18:53] And he's like, she's a grifter.

[00:18:56] She's a bad person.

[00:18:57] Yeah, I don't think so.

[00:18:58] But did she want to do this?

[00:19:01] The episode ends with Ali.

[00:19:05] Can you believe that?

[00:19:07] With Ali trying to get in contact with her dad saying, hey, I'm trying to get in contact

[00:19:12] with her dad saying, hey, I want to talk to Dylan.

[00:19:15] And now my friends was when he calls the horse.

[00:19:18] Hey, buddy.

[00:19:19] Jackaroo.

[00:19:20] Jackaroo.

[00:19:21] Yeah.

[00:19:22] What Bill calls Jack in this episode.

[00:19:23] I'll say quick break.

[00:19:24] We'll come back and we will.

[00:19:25] Is that horse?

[00:19:26] No, I don't think so.

[00:19:27] We'll be right back here on Contact the Horse.

[00:19:28] Hey!

[00:19:29] Hey!

[00:19:30] Hey!

[00:19:31] Hey!

[00:19:32] Hey!

[00:19:33] Hey!

[00:19:34] Hey!

[00:19:35] Hey!

[00:19:36] Hey!

[00:19:37] Hey!

[00:19:38] Hey!

[00:19:39] Hey!

[00:19:40] Hey!

[00:19:44] What up, y'all?

[00:19:45] We're back.

[00:19:48] We're talking Wingall's Heart.

[00:19:49] Season 11, episode nine.

[00:19:50] Truth be told, we're toward the tail end of this.

[00:19:55] Are we?

[00:19:56] Towards the tail end of this season.

[00:19:57] I mean, respectively to like episode two.

[00:19:59] Yes, we are three quarters of the way through.

[00:20:01] That's right.

[00:20:02] We're 75% done.

[00:20:03] Seventy-five cents is closer to a dollar than it is to zero cents.

[00:20:06] You think about that one.

[00:20:07] That's true.

[00:20:08] That's true.

[00:20:09] That's free math.

[00:20:10] I could pass the bar.

[00:20:11] You could pass the bar easy.

[00:20:12] With a tip.

[00:20:13] Yeah, with a tip.

[00:20:14] Yeah, with a tip.

[00:20:15] Easy.

[00:20:16] I definitely don't when the check comes immediately hand it to my wife and let her do the math

[00:20:21] because I can't do it.

[00:20:22] Wow.

[00:20:23] You are so cool.

[00:20:24] I don't know how to do it.

[00:20:26] I don't.

[00:20:27] I couldn't.

[00:20:28] That would be an easy thing to figure out.

[00:20:29] I could.

[00:20:30] I could maybe one day learn it.

[00:20:31] You could.

[00:20:32] But she's really good at it.

[00:20:33] She's really-

[00:20:34] I get that.

[00:20:35] Like, Caitlin is just particularly capable.

[00:20:37] She's so good at doing that math so fast.

[00:20:41] Yeah.

[00:20:43] Why?

[00:20:44] You don't think that woman should be able to do that?

[00:20:45] That's not what I said at all.

[00:20:46] I just think you should be able to do math.

[00:20:49] It's not a man-woman thing at all.

[00:20:51] It's just you and math.

[00:20:53] No one is asking you to pass the math bar.

[00:20:55] By myself.

[00:20:56] Just learn how to leave a tip.

[00:20:57] By myself, I Google it.

[00:20:58] I do tip calculator.

[00:20:59] Oh my God.

[00:21:00] But it's faster if she just does it because she's so fast on the mind.

[00:21:04] Fast on the mind.

[00:21:05] That's one of the things I love most about her.

[00:21:08] She's so smart.

[00:21:09] Way smarter than me.

[00:21:11] Way smarter than me.

[00:21:12] Way smarter than me.

[00:21:13] Let's talk Winko's Art Season 11, Episode 9.

[00:21:16] 11 plus 9 is-

[00:21:17] 20.

[00:21:18] 20%.

[00:21:19] At that, have yourself a day.

[00:21:22] Jax, let's get to the hot take.

[00:21:25] That's where we share exactly how we felt about this episode of television.

[00:21:28] We do not hold back.

[00:21:29] Jax, what did you think about Episode 9, Truth Be Told?

[00:21:32] Guys, so much drama in this one, okay?

[00:21:37] Okay?

[00:21:38] We got Lucas yelling.

[00:21:40] We've got-

[00:21:41] We do have Lucas yelling.

[00:21:42] We call his dad Uncle Nathan.

[00:21:44] Whoa!

[00:21:45] Shout to the heart.

[00:21:46] We have the jump scare when Robert is just there for one line.

[00:21:50] Isn't that crazy?

[00:21:51] It was amazing.

[00:21:53] That's nuts.

[00:21:54] I literally, it was a jump scare.

[00:21:56] He's like, what is going on?

[00:21:58] What the fuck are you doing?

[00:22:00] Made me laugh so hard.

[00:22:03] And look, it's worth the price of admission alone to see what Jack Wagner is doing with

[00:22:08] the pony, with the horse.

[00:22:10] It was a gosh darn delight to me.

[00:22:13] For me.

[00:22:14] For me.

[00:22:15] I really love this man.

[00:22:16] I do think there were some really interesting conversations that we're having between Elizabeth

[00:22:20] and Nathan.

[00:22:21] We're seeing them getting closer.

[00:22:22] Do I think that it's really good acting?

[00:22:26] Yes.

[00:22:27] Do I feel like these conversations are lovely and true to life?

[00:22:30] Yes.

[00:22:31] Do I feel like we have the same conversation about three times?

[00:22:34] Also yes.

[00:22:36] It didn't bug me, but I was just like, oh, I feel like it's the same conversation over

[00:22:41] and over.

[00:22:42] But other than that, I mean, I enjoyed their chemistry together.

[00:22:46] I thought this was a fun one.

[00:22:48] Not my favorite of the season, but definitely leaps and bounds above episode one.

[00:22:55] I feel like we've come so far.

[00:22:57] I hear you.

[00:22:59] I hear you.

[00:23:00] I want to know that before we say anything else, Jax.

[00:23:05] I hear you.

[00:23:06] We hear you.

[00:23:07] We see you.

[00:23:08] We validate your opinion.

[00:23:09] And I got to be honest, Jax, I feel totally comfortable letting you leave the tip for

[00:23:17] me.

[00:23:18] Like I would let you do that too.

[00:23:19] Like I think that you can totally do that.

[00:23:21] Like I would never take the check out of your hand and be like, let me take it to hand.

[00:23:25] Like I know you can do it better than I can.

[00:23:27] I don't want anyone else leaving.

[00:23:28] Yeah, I enjoy that.

[00:23:30] Maybe one day you'll be as comfortable in your skin as I am.

[00:23:34] So I think my problem with this episode by and large is sucks.

[00:23:41] I'm concerned about how often Allie and Nathan had the same conversation.

[00:23:50] Oh, my gosh.

[00:23:52] The conversation happens four different times.

[00:23:54] It felt like there was a smell of sulfur in the room.

[00:23:58] They are, are they all brain dead?

[00:24:01] Like something is going on with those two people that they have to do this this many

[00:24:06] times.

[00:24:07] And here's the thing.

[00:24:08] I hear what you're saying.

[00:24:09] I do think it is something that happened like with like middle schoolers.

[00:24:13] You do have the same conversation over and over again with them.

[00:24:16] So like, but we as viewers, I don't want that to see that.

[00:24:19] Like, I get that enough with my kids asking me the same questions.

[00:24:22] I don't need your kid, Allie.

[00:24:24] I don't need you to ask me the same question over and over again.

[00:24:26] It just kept happening over and over again.

[00:24:29] And it was and it's the storyline in this episode that I could I could not care

[00:24:34] less about this.

[00:24:35] Allie, I do not.

[00:24:36] I we've got a lot.

[00:24:37] We've got enough going on here between the the resort between Nathan and

[00:24:42] Elizabeth, maybe kissing, but freaking baby Jack riding a horse.

[00:24:45] I care more about wow.

[00:24:47] Then then Ali's then Ali's dad scolding and it's not wrong.

[00:24:51] I just didn't care.

[00:24:52] I didn't care.

[00:24:53] And so now but now it's it's clear that this is going to be a rest of the

[00:24:58] season art would be my guess.

[00:25:00] And maybe the reason why I'm now getting concerns that this could maybe like

[00:25:09] lead Nathan out of town for a little while.

[00:25:11] Maybe it maybe they don't even kiss at the end of the season.

[00:25:14] So I am now there.

[00:25:16] This this is a potential roadblock for a thing that I wish would have happened

[00:25:21] episodes ago and I made that very clear.

[00:25:24] And now I'm concerned that the introduction of Dylan and best case

[00:25:31] scenarios next next episode Allie goes and meets Dylan and D Dylan's we've

[00:25:36] seen Dylan before I know but she meets and she sees him and realizes hey Nathan

[00:25:40] was right and that's the end of it.

[00:25:42] Best case scenarios is a two episode arc and we are in and out.

[00:25:46] But I don't know if that's what's going to happen.

[00:25:49] I'm concerned and but man Lucas Lucas Lucas yell twice in this episode one

[00:25:54] on a whisper and one out loud.

[00:25:56] So that was pretty fun.

[00:25:58] Dan Yeah I do want to get the good out of the way first.

[00:26:03] The complexity of the governor being your friend and you being a member of the

[00:26:09] press and writing this story and seeing and credit legitimate credit to the

[00:26:16] makers of the show for them to actually show both the positive and negative of

[00:26:22] her writing this story.

[00:26:25] Do I have all kinds of problems with Lucas's governor right now and how

[00:26:30] they're treating this resort thing?

[00:26:31] Yes, but that one thing that they did where she is trying to figure out what's

[00:26:36] the right thing to do and she writes the story and still sees good.

[00:26:41] I really did appreciate that from a show that doesn't always put its best foot

[00:26:45] forward when it comes to real life scenario and situation.

[00:26:48] So I do want to give them credit there and that's why it isn't the worst episode.

[00:26:52] Now the problem is that aside from that storyline the three things that we've

[00:26:57] tried to hang our hat on this season are the resorts the who shot Lucas and the

[00:27:04] Elizabeth and Nathan and those three storylines two of them who shot Lucas and

[00:27:10] and Elizabeth and Nathan full stall.

[00:27:13] It's once again Bill and Rosemary going we think Montague had something to do

[00:27:16] with it.

[00:27:17] Oh, I don't know if he did nothing happens in those two and the resort the

[00:27:20] thing that happens is nothing really happens in that one either instead of

[00:27:25] those three things which there's plenty that they could do and could have done

[00:27:30] over the last nine episodes instead of spending time on those three things half

[00:27:34] of this episode is baby Jack gets a pony and Ali wants to meet her dad two things

[00:27:40] that before this episode didn't exist.

[00:27:45] They threw two plot grenades into episode nine that didn't have anything to do

[00:27:50] with any forward momentum we had in the show and if this isn't a we're going to

[00:27:56] stretch this to 12 episodes.

[00:27:57] I just don't know what is and it's frustrating.

[00:28:00] It's unfortunate and it drove me bonkers to watch them spend this much time with

[00:28:06] Jack getting a pony and Ali and her dad.

[00:28:09] I just it was real tough to watch the stuff of the newspaper saved it from being

[00:28:15] the war in the bottom two or three for me this episode even make Gowan boring

[00:28:20] and inconsequential and I want you to just sit with that for a second gallon

[00:28:24] Gowan's scenes in this episode were boring and inconsequential and and Martin

[00:28:30] Cummins just it's hard for him to be boring, but he's boring in this episode.

[00:28:35] It is it is tough sledding out there.

[00:28:38] I it was a real bad episode.

[00:28:40] I just mean I hope we get back on track next week, but you're right.

[00:28:43] The best case scenario is Ali goes to the jail and it's one more episode, but

[00:28:48] realistically, it's probably going to be a multi arc.

[00:28:51] So there's that I mean worst case scenario.

[00:28:54] She goes to talk to her dad Nathan leaves don't see him again this season and baby

[00:29:00] Jack gets bucked off a horse and is in the hospital.

[00:29:02] There's some fun to be had there though.

[00:29:04] Not the kid getting hurt.

[00:29:05] I want to be clear.

[00:29:07] It's not the kid getting hurt.

[00:29:09] I don't want anybody to get hurt but that pony which we'll get to in the wait what

[00:29:13] but that pony bucking anybody off of anything.

[00:29:17] No, I was saying the horse.

[00:29:19] I was saying the horse.

[00:29:20] Well, he is riding it with somebody else.

[00:29:22] Yeah, he's gonna ride the pony by himself.

[00:29:24] You know, he's riding the horse with somebody that's gonna be friggin hilarious when he's

[00:29:28] galloping down the town with that pony so funny.

[00:29:32] It's time for all the feels it's where we talk about what in this episode gave us feels

[00:29:36] Jax you guys.

[00:29:39] Oh my goodness.

[00:29:40] How cute is this little girl when she calls Faith auntie Faith and she gets her hair done

[00:29:46] all cute.

[00:29:47] It reminds me of when I was a babysitter and I took the little girl Bella.

[00:29:52] Hi, if you're listening, she's like 15 now.

[00:29:54] We would go to drive are together on her parents time and we would get our hair curled and

[00:29:59] it was you know, it was about a hundred and sixty dollars all together and we were just

[00:30:04] using their credit card and boy my grateful and that gave me all the feels in this episode

[00:30:09] because it was they're just so cute and I really don't want this little girl to leave town.

[00:30:14] I love that story and I also think that what this kid actor was doing was easily the best

[00:30:21] child acting of the episode.

[00:30:23] How about I say she's good.

[00:30:25] She's adorable.

[00:30:26] She's adorable and they give her manageable bits of things that she can do and they think

[00:30:32] they're handling that really well and I really do.

[00:30:34] I mean, maybe this sounds silly but I think that her and Andrea Brooks have really good

[00:30:38] chemistry like they clearly just really get on.

[00:30:41] I think better than she and Paul Green had.

[00:30:45] Yeah.

[00:30:46] Well, yeah.

[00:30:47] Yeah.

[00:30:48] I love Paul Green and we all know I love Paul Green but like yeah, I just think that this

[00:30:52] is a nice.

[00:30:53] It's a better chemistry than baby Jack has with Nathan because baby Jack and Lucas had

[00:31:00] a really fun like hey buddy report, but this with Lucas it does not seem nearly as the kid

[00:31:09] is not nearly as good an actor.

[00:31:11] Yeah, thanks baby J.

[00:31:12] Yeah, baby Jack.

[00:31:13] What do you think about Nathan?

[00:31:15] What's up?

[00:31:16] Baby Jack, what do you think about Nathan?

[00:31:18] He's dope.

[00:31:19] He's dope.

[00:31:20] He's dope.

[00:31:21] Yeah, he's dope.

[00:31:22] What about your scenes with him?

[00:31:23] I know you're always campaigning for more.

[00:31:24] Right, right, right.

[00:31:26] Your scenes with him versus your scenes with Chris McNally.

[00:31:29] I'll tell you this.

[00:31:30] No one else has got this.

[00:31:32] The horse idea with me on the horse and the ponies.

[00:31:35] Yeah.

[00:31:36] All me.

[00:31:37] All you.

[00:31:38] All you.

[00:31:39] All my ideas I marched into, I marched, I marched into that writers room and I said hey you

[00:31:44] dumb dumbs give me more.

[00:31:47] Give me more.

[00:31:48] Let me ride horse.

[00:31:49] Let me ride pony.

[00:31:50] I'll do either.

[00:31:51] Okay.

[00:31:52] And they said how about both?

[00:31:53] How about both?

[00:31:54] And I said give me both.

[00:31:55] Great.

[00:31:56] The pony's weird though.

[00:31:57] We'll get through it.

[00:31:58] He's weird.

[00:31:59] But I got to tell you, I got to tell you not enough people give me credit.

[00:32:02] I'm not giving a writer's credit, not getting an EP credit nothing.

[00:32:06] But this whole episode, all me.

[00:32:08] He wanted EP credit.

[00:32:09] Yeah I wanted EP credit.

[00:32:11] Yeah what's up baby?

[00:32:12] In your trailer baby Jack.

[00:32:14] What's the number one can't live without thing on your rider?

[00:32:17] Like if they mess up everything else whatever but you've got to have.

[00:32:20] Oh the applesauce pouches.

[00:32:22] Applesauce, does any brand work?

[00:32:24] Yeah yeah I mean I have my favorites but anyone will do.

[00:32:29] Listen I'm not picky.

[00:32:31] Okay.

[00:32:32] Whatever gives me more screen time.

[00:32:33] Yeah yeah okay.

[00:32:34] Whatever gives me more screen time.

[00:32:35] You just want to act.

[00:32:36] I just want to act.

[00:32:37] I just want to show up.

[00:32:38] I just want to do my stuff.

[00:32:39] Hit my mocks.

[00:32:40] Hit your mocks.

[00:32:41] Hit my mocks.

[00:32:42] I can't tell if it's New York or baby.

[00:32:43] You know what I mean?

[00:32:44] I'm both.

[00:32:45] I was thinking the same thing.

[00:32:46] I feel like it's New York baby.

[00:32:47] Like it's really both.

[00:32:48] Like it's how you doing but then it's like screen time.

[00:32:49] Alright that's what.

[00:32:50] That's what.

[00:32:51] Hit my mocks.

[00:32:52] Hit my mocks.

[00:32:53] All I'm saying is no one even asked if I wanted a credit.

[00:32:54] Yeah there's a reason for that.

[00:32:55] Why?

[00:32:56] You're four years old.

[00:32:57] I'm not even four years old.

[00:32:58] I'm not even four years old.

[00:33:00] I brought you here.

[00:33:01] I brought you here.

[00:33:02] I brought you here.

[00:33:03] I brought you here.

[00:33:04] I brought you here.

[00:33:05] I brought you here.

[00:33:06] You know what I'm saying?

[00:33:07] You know what I'm saying?

[00:33:08] All I'm saying is no one even asked if I wanted a credit.

[00:33:09] Yeah there's a reason for that.

[00:33:10] Why?

[00:33:11] You're four years old.

[00:33:12] Yeah.

[00:33:13] Alright okay.

[00:33:14] All I'm saying is if I was Tom Cruise, everyone would be like you get whatever you want to

[00:33:15] and I'm saying I bring that level to this show.

[00:33:16] I do my own stunts.

[00:33:17] I was on that horse.

[00:33:18] I ride an old pony.

[00:33:19] I was on that horse.

[00:33:20] I do my own stunts.

[00:33:21] Alright okay.

[00:33:22] Great.

[00:33:23] Great great great.

[00:33:24] It's more than Cranko does.

[00:33:25] Whoa.

[00:33:29] Wow.

[00:33:30] Man, she didn't do her own stunts?

[00:33:33] But also, I mean, all of your scenes were not there, actually they're not with her,

[00:33:37] but you get it.

[00:33:38] Yeah.

[00:33:39] That's brutal.

[00:33:40] Yeah man, that pony was my feels.

[00:33:41] That pony was nuts.

[00:33:42] That was crazy.

[00:33:43] Like, I just, Bill Avery is hilarious in this episode.

[00:33:50] In him buying a pony and showing up unannounced being like, first of all, I'd like to apologize

[00:33:57] for not being a present godfather.

[00:33:59] I didn't want to put that out there first.

[00:34:02] And what he could have done was be like, I'd like to hang out with him and that's it.

[00:34:07] No, he got carried away and he bought a pony and it was hilarious.

[00:34:12] Scene of the show.

[00:34:13] Bill Avery, that pony, Elizabeth.

[00:34:15] Since we're here and since I don't have any feels, I'll just piggyback on that and talk

[00:34:20] about the pony.

[00:34:21] This pony is two days away from death.

[00:34:24] Holy hell, what happened here?

[00:34:27] When they were researching ponies where they're like, give us a pony that looks like it got

[00:34:32] hit by a bus.

[00:34:34] Is there a pony that can limp on screen and limp up?

[00:34:40] He also had an emo haircut, which is pretty cool.

[00:34:43] His hair's a mess.

[00:34:45] This pony has seen better days.

[00:34:47] My chemical pony.

[00:34:49] What happened to this pony?

[00:34:51] I don't want to see any, that pony is not going to last much longer.

[00:34:55] Pony eats world.

[00:34:57] Yeah.

[00:34:58] Like that pony looked miserable.

[00:35:01] Like I just was like, they don't have a bright eyed and bushy tailed pony.

[00:35:06] Like this isn't genuine pony.

[00:35:07] This is a pony that has been, this pony is older than all of us.

[00:35:14] That pony was all in Jack's idea too.

[00:35:16] So let that sink in.

[00:35:18] He must've got it for free.

[00:35:19] They're like this pony.

[00:35:20] Well, I mean you do what you can.

[00:35:22] Yeah.

[00:35:23] There's no way that pony is still alive right now.

[00:35:26] Right now.

[00:35:27] Probably, it was probably a Canadian pony.

[00:35:29] Get the tax credit for it.

[00:35:30] Yeah.

[00:35:31] Let's take a quick break.

[00:35:32] We'll come back.

[00:35:33] We'll get to the Wait What?

[00:35:34] Hopes and Valleys and more here on Take the Hallmark.

[00:35:39] What's up everybody?

[00:35:46] Welcome back.

[00:35:50] We're talking When It Calls the Heart season 11 episode nine.

[00:35:54] Let's get to the Wait What?

[00:35:56] Is where we share what in this episode.

[00:35:58] We just go, wait, what?

[00:36:00] And I'll start with you, Jax.

[00:36:01] Jax, what you got?

[00:36:02] What's the one you got and then you're going to leave the rest for us.

[00:36:05] Oh, she's got two.

[00:36:06] Oh my gosh.

[00:36:07] And I have the rest for you.

[00:36:08] Okay.

[00:36:09] One of mine was at the very top when Rosemary, who is, you know, just to reiterate a delight

[00:36:15] and everything she does, says like now that Tom's out of town, you know, you can get with

[00:36:19] Lucas.

[00:36:20] Oops, sorry.

[00:36:21] Get with Lucas.

[00:36:23] I misspoke.

[00:36:27] Don't come after me, team Nathan.

[00:36:29] You can get with Nathan and it's like, okay, so having your, you know, sadly deceased husband's

[00:36:37] brother in town is going to stop you from getting with Nathan.

[00:36:39] But having your recently ex fiance in town, like that's not a thing.

[00:36:44] Like I couldn't believe that that was the problem.

[00:36:47] I was like, huh?

[00:36:48] What?

[00:36:49] What?

[00:36:51] The last, uh, wait, what for me was whatever knocked Montague over.

[00:36:57] It just was, I just couldn't stop laughing.

[00:37:00] It was the best.

[00:37:01] It was the best.

[00:37:02] It was the best.

[00:37:03] Supernatural.

[00:37:04] And when they rolled him over, I thought he was dead.

[00:37:06] Wait, what did you say?

[00:37:07] It was supernatural?

[00:37:08] Yeah, it was supernatural.

[00:37:09] It was like next level.

[00:37:10] I just, if this is the same person that did what they did to Lucas, I just don't know how

[00:37:20] bad they are at murder.

[00:37:22] Unless it's just to send a message that you don't need to mess with this resort.

[00:37:28] But we also like, we also have to backtrack and go, well, this didn't, there's a connection

[00:37:36] between this and the story that was written basically saying this is somebody from Hope

[00:37:42] Valley who did this, which is even crazier unless it's Nathan who could have tried to

[00:37:48] shoot Lucas and tackle Montague and messed up both and wouldn't have known if it weren't

[00:37:54] for the article.

[00:37:55] Got them guys.

[00:37:56] Wait, who do you do?

[00:37:57] Do you think it is?

[00:37:58] Because at this point we're out of stuff.

[00:37:59] I mean, I think it's, I would, I would, I probably at this point be shocked if it was

[00:38:08] anyone other than Edwin.

[00:38:10] Yeah.

[00:38:11] Edwin is the leader in the clubhouse.

[00:38:12] I think it's so obvious he worked for the governor and now he works for the crew.

[00:38:19] He worked for the past governor.

[00:38:20] He works for the current governor.

[00:38:21] Uh, that would make a lot of sense, I guess, but I don't know.

[00:38:25] What do you think?

[00:38:26] So if it would make sense, they're definitely not going to do it.

[00:38:28] Well, yeah, they are.

[00:38:30] They're not, they're not good at mystery.

[00:38:31] It's not going to be a twist.

[00:38:32] Do you think there's going to be a twist that makes sense that we didn't see coming in this

[00:38:36] show?

[00:38:37] No.

[00:38:38] Who do you think?

[00:38:40] I'm completely baffled at this point.

[00:38:42] I thought it was Montague.

[00:38:43] I mean, I think that it's Nathan.

[00:38:46] I want that on the record.

[00:38:48] I want to be there in case I'm right.

[00:38:51] I don't want to, I don't want to, I don't really know what Edwin's, I don't really know

[00:38:54] what Edwin's like motive is aside from he like he wants to be mayor or something.

[00:39:05] Somebody told him to go work for Lucas to tank his campaign and he won anyway.

[00:39:09] I don't know.

[00:39:10] How about this next episode, Ali leaves to go to see her dad.

[00:39:17] And then the end leaves and then in the finale we, he's gone and then we Lucas remembers

[00:39:22] Nathan shot him.

[00:39:24] I mean, this is television.

[00:39:28] This is like move over mad man.

[00:39:29] Like this is the golden living.

[00:39:31] This is Greenville.

[00:39:32] This is television.

[00:39:33] That'd be amazing.

[00:39:34] Come on.

[00:39:35] I would love that.

[00:39:36] Oh, what if it's Ali's dad?

[00:39:38] Who's in jail?

[00:39:39] Yeah.

[00:39:40] All right.

[00:39:41] That could be something, I guess.

[00:39:42] I don't, again, I don't know.

[00:39:43] I would love the idea if it's not going to be Nathan, which is this my favorite idea.

[00:39:47] Then I would love the idea that it's Jack's brother, Tom.

[00:39:49] I think that's a fun idea that he comes back and he's all nice, but it turns out he's actually

[00:39:54] like, you know, he was upset because he thought Lucas was going to marry her.

[00:39:58] And so we went to shoot him and then turns out they were broken up.

[00:40:02] Maybe he's out to get Nathan now.

[00:40:03] I don't know.

[00:40:04] That would be fun, I guess.

[00:40:05] Oh yes.

[00:40:06] And he's not avenging his brother.

[00:40:07] He's actually in love with Elizabeth.

[00:40:09] Whoa.

[00:40:10] Okay.

[00:40:11] Wowzers.

[00:40:12] Yeah.

[00:40:14] I think we're writing a better television show.

[00:40:15] Oh my gosh.

[00:40:16] And he actually is responsible for Jack's death because he's always been in love with Elizabeth.

[00:40:19] Oh my gosh.

[00:40:20] I love it.

[00:40:21] I mean, best case scenario, it's maybe Jack, right?

[00:40:24] Well, yeah, of course.

[00:40:26] That'd be crazy.

[00:40:27] Baby little pistol.

[00:40:28] I got a few.

[00:40:29] That's why he missed so badly from such a short range.

[00:40:34] Is Ali a ghost?

[00:40:36] Because nobody can see her.

[00:40:37] Faith and Nathan are having a conversation about Ali and Ali's dad.

[00:40:44] And if Faith doesn't see her, I don't know.

[00:40:49] Something's wrong with her.

[00:40:51] She couldn't be more visible.

[00:40:54] She's not even trying to hide.

[00:40:55] She's not like...

[00:40:57] She was around the corner.

[00:40:58] Fully around the corner.

[00:40:59] She walked around the corner and then stood there and just listened in.

[00:41:02] What?

[00:41:03] That's good.

[00:41:05] Is she a ghost?

[00:41:07] Why was Bill in the stables?

[00:41:09] I don't know.

[00:41:10] It's the best part of this show.

[00:41:11] There's a scene where it's Nathan, it's Elizabeth, it's baby Jack, they're in the stables.

[00:41:19] Bill comes into the stables.

[00:41:22] It's like, horses are nuts, right?

[00:41:24] And that's the end of the scene.

[00:41:26] And I don't know why he was there.

[00:41:29] Nobody knows.

[00:41:30] We know why everybody else was there.

[00:41:31] Elizabeth's like, I'm going to take Jack down to feed Charger Honcho.

[00:41:34] What's his name?

[00:41:35] Yeah, Honcho.

[00:41:37] Nathan's meeting us there.

[00:41:39] We know why everybody's there.

[00:41:41] And then Bill comes just sauntering in.

[00:41:43] My guess...

[00:41:44] My daily stable check.

[00:41:45] How y'all doing?

[00:41:47] My guess is Bill saw Elizabeth and baby Jack and was like, oh my gosh, freaking the whole

[00:41:57] Godfather storyline.

[00:41:59] Let me go see him.

[00:42:01] And then now that he's there, he felt bad.

[00:42:04] And that's where the whole pony idea came from.

[00:42:06] But they don't really do that.

[00:42:07] They just had this guy walk in and be like, man, horses are nuts.

[00:42:11] I remember riding those.

[00:42:12] And that's it.

[00:42:13] That's it for him there.

[00:42:16] Yoast apparently donated old telephone directories to the library.

[00:42:22] Like it's a goodwill, like where you have trash and you're like, I could trash it or

[00:42:26] I could give it to the goodwill.

[00:42:29] What are they going to do with the old telephone?

[00:42:32] They had to have new ones.

[00:42:34] I don't know.

[00:42:35] He just had these old ones.

[00:42:36] It was like, could trash or the library.

[00:42:42] What if the library had four five year old telephone directories that you could check

[00:42:47] out?

[00:42:48] I don't know.

[00:42:50] And then yeah, Bill just really put Elizabeth in a tough spot there with that pony.

[00:42:53] I don't like...

[00:42:54] Yeah.

[00:42:55] You gotta...

[00:42:56] Oh my kids are still hearing no.

[00:42:59] I literally will be like, hey buddy, we don't have a place to put a pony.

[00:43:03] We don't have a place for a pony.

[00:43:04] We don't have a place for a pony.

[00:43:05] I don't have a place for a pony.

[00:43:06] I just don't have one.

[00:43:07] Dan, you got anything?

[00:43:08] Yeah.

[00:43:09] I've been banging this drum for a while now, but Lucas is the worst governor in the history

[00:43:17] of this Canadian territory, wherever it is.

[00:43:19] He has 100% forgotten about every region of this ginormous territory aside from Hope Valley.

[00:43:27] Nowhere else matters.

[00:43:29] He is in Hope Valley.

[00:43:30] He's been in Hope Valley for weeks of this television show, which is the way I understand

[00:43:35] it months of time.

[00:43:38] He is not in the governor's mansion.

[00:43:40] He's not...

[00:43:41] There has to be stuff going on.

[00:43:43] This territory is ginormous.

[00:43:45] Like imagine if the governor of Vancouver took one small town and went there and never

[00:43:53] left and only cared about getting a deal done for this one tiny town.

[00:43:59] I just...

[00:44:01] You're the governor of the province.

[00:44:04] You cannot do what you're doing.

[00:44:07] You can't.

[00:44:08] Dan, I will say it's not just you.

[00:44:11] Alex missed a few episodes and he was like, wait, did Lucas get a new job?

[00:44:14] Because how is he in Hope Valley?

[00:44:16] Because he's the governor.

[00:44:17] And I was like, no, you and Dan need to talk about this because you're right.

[00:44:20] He should not just be hanging out in Hope Valley.

[00:44:21] And they also just last season were like, well, he's the governor.

[00:44:24] How's he going to still be in the show?

[00:44:25] And I was like, maybe he has to leave the show.

[00:44:27] And this was a nice way for them to do this.

[00:44:29] Like, yo, like what's crazy is there's literally a city called Capital City, which he hasn't

[00:44:36] spent any time in.

[00:44:37] And it is a 15 hour train ride from Hope Valley.

[00:44:42] He could not be more off the map right now.

[00:44:45] He could not be...

[00:44:46] It would be like for you South Carolinians, if I was governor of South Carolina, I was

[00:44:49] like, I want to spend all my time in Abbeville.

[00:44:52] Abbeville needs me.

[00:44:53] I got to go to Abbeville and I'm going to be in Abbeville and we're going to try to

[00:44:57] get Abbeville up and running and don't call me.

[00:45:00] I can't take any of your...

[00:45:01] There's nothing I can do about what's going on in Columbia or Greenville or Charleston.

[00:45:05] I'm going to be in Abbeville.

[00:45:06] That's where I'm going to be.

[00:45:07] It's like, you know how every president when they aren't at the White House, if they spend

[00:45:11] too much time at one of the vacation homes, they're like, he was gone for a long time.

[00:45:16] He's probably gone for a little too long, huh?

[00:45:20] Yes.

[00:45:21] You're like, hey, he's on his vacation home way too long.

[00:45:24] I don't think he's coming back.

[00:45:25] I don't think Biden's coming back to the White House.

[00:45:28] I think he's moved into Fort Knox or whatever, Fort McHenry.

[00:45:31] If Biden was in some small town of Delaware or like Scranton where he grew up and he's

[00:45:37] just in Scranton and he's just getting...

[00:45:39] He's like, trust me, I'll ride the train every day still.

[00:45:43] He's optimising the F out of Scranton.

[00:45:46] Scranton is crushing it and everywhere else is dying.

[00:45:49] And he's like, well, there's nothing I can do about that.

[00:45:51] And in the chat, Holly beat me to it.

[00:45:53] I was going to say this, but the whole reason Elizabeth started having second thoughts about

[00:45:58] Lucas is what?

[00:46:00] He's not going to be in Hope Valley.

[00:46:02] Well, I've got some news for you, Lizzie.

[00:46:05] He is going to stick around.

[00:46:08] He clearly can be wherever he'd like to be as governor with no consequence.

[00:46:14] Trying to control the local media.

[00:46:16] He's trying to control a newspaper for a literal one road town.

[00:46:21] There is one road with everybody stuff in it and he's like, God, Hope Valley's got me

[00:46:26] again.

[00:46:27] I'm on the ropes.

[00:46:28] I'm on the ropes now because of one reporter that I know personally.

[00:46:33] You can't still be there, bro.

[00:46:35] He's spent too much time.

[00:46:38] They go to the horse farm to see Chunky.

[00:46:41] What's his name?

[00:46:43] And Charger Honcho.

[00:46:45] And Chunky get there and Jack, baby Jack says, hi, Mountie Nathan.

[00:46:50] And Nathan turns around and goes, hi, Mountie Jack.

[00:46:53] Too soon, bro.

[00:46:54] Too soon.

[00:46:55] He's not.

[00:46:56] He's not Mountie Jack.

[00:46:57] Mountie Jack.

[00:46:58] The baby is not Mountie Jack.

[00:47:01] It's not.

[00:47:02] You can't do that.

[00:47:04] You can't catch that.

[00:47:06] I didn't even catch that.

[00:47:08] But yeah, you can't.

[00:47:09] You can't do that.

[00:47:10] You can't.

[00:47:11] You can't.

[00:47:13] Elizabeth would immediately be like, hey, can I talk to you?

[00:47:15] Yeah.

[00:47:16] Can I talk to you real quick?

[00:47:17] Hey, I know you didn't mean it, but you can't call him Mountie Jack.

[00:47:20] Seeing as how my dead husband, see what had happened.

[00:47:24] What if Robert Kennedy one day, somebody was like, hey, little JFK.

[00:47:32] Everyone would freeze and be like, you can't buddy.

[00:47:35] You can't do that.

[00:47:37] You can't.

[00:47:38] That is not.

[00:47:39] No, no.

[00:47:40] No, Mountie Jack.

[00:47:42] Kind of a solemn thing, guys.

[00:47:45] It's a party.

[00:47:46] Excited for the parade today.

[00:47:48] I know.

[00:47:49] Excited for our trip to Dallas, little JFK?

[00:47:54] Like you like.

[00:47:55] Oh, is that too soon?

[00:47:56] Oh, come on.

[00:47:57] 60 years.

[00:47:58] Is that too soon?

[00:47:59] Too soon?

[00:48:00] Especially since it was an inside job.

[00:48:02] Yeah, yeah, yeah.

[00:48:03] Right.

[00:48:04] Like, yeah.

[00:48:05] It's just like Nathan shot Lucas.

[00:48:06] That's right.

[00:48:07] It's all over again.

[00:48:08] That's exactly.

[00:48:10] I know that we're four or five years removed now.

[00:48:12] Five years, six years removed from Mountie Jack dying.

[00:48:15] But a huge part of the lore of this show is Mountie Jack.

[00:48:19] It's not that child.

[00:48:20] It's Mountie Jack.

[00:48:21] So let's not.

[00:48:22] Let's.

[00:48:23] How about we don't?

[00:48:24] Um, uh, Rosemary just conveniently throws a dust bowl comment out a decade before the

[00:48:30] dust bowl.

[00:48:31] Um, so just, just wanted to throw that out there just so we made sure we had it on the

[00:48:36] record.

[00:48:37] And then Robert has been missing for years, decades even.

[00:48:43] This is like, you know, when you coach basketball and you forget that you got to kill me on

[00:48:47] the bench, who hasn't played all game.

[00:48:48] Not that you ever, I would never.

[00:48:50] I actually did this once and I, it stung so badly cause I talked to the dad afterwards

[00:48:54] with tears in his eyes.

[00:48:55] I literally, I learned my lesson when I was 21 years old.

[00:48:58] If you don't put that kid in, in the last minute and a half, like with like a minute

[00:49:02] and a half, two minutes, my numbers typically two minutes.

[00:49:05] If it's under two minutes, I'm just not playing at all.

[00:49:07] At some point it becomes such a disservice.

[00:49:10] I put a kid in with 17 seconds left in the game and that's like worse than not playing

[00:49:16] them at all.

[00:49:17] It's like worse than not playing them at all.

[00:49:19] Have having Robert show up and scary house surprises just out of nowhere to call back

[00:49:27] and have one line is, is, is the equivalent of just like, Hey Robert, I haven't been around

[00:49:36] in a while.

[00:49:37] What do you, what do you got for him?

[00:49:38] Can he ride that pony?

[00:49:39] No, pony would die if they wrote him.

[00:49:40] Could he, what could he do?

[00:49:42] What if we had him in the salon just in the background go real quick and then be done?

[00:49:49] So like, but that's like, it's so interesting that that's where they put them.

[00:49:55] It was like, obviously the last time we saw him, he's like, I'm a, an apprentice or whatever.

[00:50:00] And then they like have done nothing with it.

[00:50:02] But like, I don't like what can I like?

[00:50:05] What came first to chicken or the egg here?

[00:50:06] Like did they say we're going to have a scene in the salon?

[00:50:11] Someone call up Robert.

[00:50:12] Like people are going to be like, I thought Rob was the apprentice.

[00:50:16] How did this happen?

[00:50:17] How did it, how did it come to be that Roberts back for five seconds storyboarded every scene

[00:50:23] episode and they're like, no Robert again.

[00:50:26] Huh?

[00:50:27] All right.

[00:50:28] And then finally some of the guys, we got to get Robert in there.

[00:50:30] We got to get him in there.

[00:50:31] He couldn't have been more spot on about getting the game.

[00:50:36] And I was just hoping that Robert was booked and blessed, but we clearly know he's around

[00:50:41] in his agents.

[00:50:42] Like, do you have anything for him?

[00:50:43] He got booked and blessed guys.

[00:50:48] We haven't knocked on his trailer and available is what he is.

[00:50:52] He is not booked and blessed.

[00:50:55] Robert is absent and available.

[00:50:56] That's how I'm Mr. Marketing myself as well.

[00:50:59] I like that.

[00:51:00] Absolutely.

[00:51:01] I, uh, I, I'm more invested in what Roberts offscreen arc is like, how's he doing?

[00:51:11] He's just been on drugs.

[00:51:13] He's clearly still in the hair world.

[00:51:16] And like, what's that going to like, what's that going to mean?

[00:51:18] And what's so like fun and that I just remembered is that Caitlin's grandma, before she died,

[00:51:24] she couldn't drive anymore.

[00:51:26] And so Caitlin and I would go and pick her up and we would take her to her hairdresser

[00:51:29] whose name was Robert full circle moment.

[00:51:33] Robert shout out, shout out that Robert had more to do than this.

[00:51:37] Robert was busy, dude.

[00:51:40] That Robert was busy.

[00:51:42] This guy just in his trailer.

[00:51:44] He was in his trailer since season 10.

[00:51:46] They're like, Robert's still out there.

[00:51:47] We didn't know he lives in his trailer.

[00:51:49] Like we didn't know moved in.

[00:51:51] He let's get him a line or two.

[00:51:54] That's crazy.

[00:51:55] I like, I honestly hope that he's a huge part of next season.

[00:51:59] Like, cause if not, then I'm so like confused.

[00:52:03] Yeah.

[00:52:04] Why?

[00:52:05] Um, um, um, I wrote off the face.

[00:52:08] We can't write off Robert.

[00:52:09] He's got to show up once every eight episodes, deliver us scary house line.

[00:52:13] What are we doing?

[00:52:15] I uh, yeah, it's crazy.

[00:52:17] Um, all right.

[00:52:18] It's time for hopes and valleys.

[00:52:19] My hope is that we get a whole row.

[00:52:21] Next season's all Robert next season.

[00:52:23] I'm about full circle.

[00:52:24] Wouldn't it be crazy?

[00:52:26] What if next season was a parallel to this season, but from Robert's point of view, wouldn't

[00:52:33] that be nuts?

[00:52:35] It's the whole season again, but just Robert, Robert was actually in that weird town shot

[00:52:42] Lucas.

[00:52:43] Oh, that's almost better than Nathan shooting Luke.

[00:52:47] He didn't want to leave.

[00:52:48] He didn't want to leave.

[00:52:49] Man.

[00:52:50] Yo, let's go.

[00:52:51] That's it right here.

[00:52:52] Dude, we get to the end of this season.

[00:52:53] The last, the last scene of the season is a closeup of Robert and he has the gun in

[00:53:04] his hand.

[00:53:05] Next season starts.

[00:53:06] We're back to where we started.

[00:53:08] It's all from Robert's point of view.

[00:53:09] What are we doing here?

[00:53:10] Can I ask you?

[00:53:11] We're making art.

[00:53:12] That's what we're doing.

[00:53:13] You thought people were pissed when Jack Mountie Jack died, the mounting Jack, not the child.

[00:53:20] You thought people were pissed when she, when she, I've been told it's fair game to call

[00:53:26] him out to Jack.

[00:53:27] It's fair game.

[00:53:29] You thought people were pissed when Elizabeth chose Lucas.

[00:53:32] You thought people were pissed when Elizabeth un-chose Lucas and then chose Nathan.

[00:53:37] Imagine an entire season of just Robert.

[00:53:41] It's just him planning, man.

[00:53:43] Like one episode in season two is stranger things where 11 just goes off and does stuff

[00:53:47] for 12 straight episodes.

[00:53:49] I just like he's in the, he's in the saloon that time that the town had the meeting about

[00:53:55] whether or not they're going to merge with Benson Hills or ever remember that he's just

[00:53:59] in the background just being like, this isn't what I had in mind.

[00:54:02] This is not speak up, say something.

[00:54:05] Nah, not yet.

[00:54:06] Save it.

[00:54:07] Save it for the salon.

[00:54:08] Save it.

[00:54:09] Man, scary house.

[00:54:10] The heck out of it.

[00:54:11] So excited, man.

[00:54:12] That's great.

[00:54:13] Uh, Jax, you got any hopes or values?

[00:54:16] Um, yeah, yeah.

[00:54:21] I'm really hopeful that when our little girl's grandma comes back, they do have a spa day

[00:54:25] all together.

[00:54:26] That's what I'm hoping.

[00:54:27] Is there anyone more bummed that that grandma is still alive than Faith?

[00:54:31] Man.

[00:54:32] Oh my gosh, that is funny because you saw her.

[00:54:34] She's so bummed.

[00:54:35] She's like, she's doing better.

[00:54:36] She's doing better.

[00:54:37] She's going to make a full recovery.

[00:54:38] It was great.

[00:54:39] It was great because it wasn't even like she was happy.

[00:54:46] She was okay.

[00:54:47] And then was like, Oh, but wait, it's like you saw her immediately.

[00:54:49] Just be like, Oh damn, I thought she was dead.

[00:54:52] She's like looking, immediately looks at her bag of doctor stuff.

[00:54:55] Seeing if she has got anything to take care of the job, make it all go away.

[00:55:01] Uh, Dano?

[00:55:02] Uh, yeah.

[00:55:03] And then in two seasons, it's all this season from the grandma's perspective.

[00:55:09] And then we keep reliving this season.

[00:55:12] The next season is just an episode in the stables where you see who comes by.

[00:55:17] It turns out Bill's there every time, all the time, every time he always comes in there.

[00:55:22] Obviously, he's actually, he has a thing with the horse.

[00:55:25] I hope is Nathan still could pot.

[00:55:30] Why else was he there?

[00:55:32] He's there to check up on his baby.

[00:55:35] It's like all on the up and up.

[00:55:39] He just like, you know, the horse have a good relationship.

[00:55:41] It's like a good friend.

[00:55:43] He calls the horses baby boo.

[00:55:45] But it's all on the up and up.

[00:55:48] I don't think so.

[00:55:49] I think to some, they might squint.

[00:55:51] They're like, they might squint.

[00:55:54] Maybe like what's going on there.

[00:55:57] But I'm telling you, man, you got nothing on him.

[00:56:01] Like I'm telling you.

[00:56:03] And it'll all come out in three seasons.

[00:56:05] Bill has a thing for a horse, but it's all on the up and up.

[00:56:08] All on the up and up.

[00:56:09] Like I think I mean a friendship.

[00:56:11] I don't think Hope's Valley's ready.

[00:56:12] I don't think it's ready.

[00:56:13] But obviously my hope is that Nathan shot Lucas and my Valley is everything else.

[00:56:17] Do we have a What's Calling My Heart, Daniel?

[00:56:20] We do.

[00:56:21] You can email us.

[00:56:22] What's wild is Aaron hasn't been here.

[00:56:24] Hasn't been here for days now.

[00:56:26] But I got a What's Calling My Heart from Aaron, which is great.

[00:56:29] You can email us hello at deckthehallmark.com to tell us what's calling your heart.

[00:56:32] This is from Daniel Higgins Jr.

[00:56:35] Dear Jackson, the boys in this month of May, I myself overwhelmed.

[00:56:40] I find myself overwhelmed with 19,000 school activities for my kids, often at conflicting

[00:56:45] times as well as ongoing work responsibilities.

[00:56:48] It can be hard to manage.

[00:56:50] So it's nice to suspend disbelief and fall into the black hole that is Hope Valley once

[00:56:54] a week in this twilight zone.

[00:56:56] Lee can have four plus businesses and not break a sweat.

[00:56:59] The kids go to school occasionally and learn the same thing for years and years and then

[00:57:03] just somehow graduate.

[00:57:05] Getting scammed out of the five dollars is the biggest scandal that anyone has to deal

[00:57:09] with.

[00:57:10] What a life.

[00:57:11] Anyway, thanks as always for the laughs and occasional tears of boredom and that 11 years

[00:57:15] of podcasting in this valley together have brought us with love.

[00:57:19] Hig bones.

[00:57:20] Thank you.

[00:57:21] Hig bones.

[00:57:22] Jack and the boys.

[00:57:23] I like that.

[00:57:24] Exactly right.

[00:57:25] We did everybody.

[00:57:26] Congratulations.

[00:57:27] Only a few more left this season.

[00:57:30] Yeah, it's hard to believe.

[00:57:32] Is it?

[00:57:33] We'll be back tomorrow with Patrick's going to be here.

[00:57:37] Dr. Light's going to be a ton of fun.

[00:57:38] Until then, may we be the first to wish you a Merry Christmas.

[00:58:27] Yep.

[00:58:28] Here they are.

[00:58:29] Happy day.

[00:58:30] Happy day.

[00:58:31] Happy day.

[00:58:32] Happy day.
