Watch on Philo! - Philo.tv/DTH
Vice Principal Jo is bustling around backstage at the school theater. She trips, and her glasses fall off. She looks up and thinks she sees a total hunk—but who can be sure?
She steps out from backstage, and we see the same chaotic scene from the first film, where all the moms bump into each other. Smile. Love Club. Group photo.
Fast forward six months: Jo is now dating the choir director, Karim, and she’s been promoted to Principal! But something’s off—she doesn’t seem quite happy.
So, she reaches out to the Love Club.
Jo confesses that Karim might be ready to take the relationship to the next level, but she’s just not sure she feels the same way. The next day, she sees that same hunk from six months ago... and realizes she knows him. It’s Ryan, and his son, Simon, is a student at the school. Turns out Simon’s been having some trouble.
Jo and Ryan get into an argument, and he storms off. That’s when it hits her—not only does she know him... he’s her ex-husband.
She tells the Love Club that she spontaneously married Ryan at 18, and it was a huge mistake.
Then Karim proposes via Yahtzee, and Jo tells him she needs time to think. The Love Club suspects Jo still has feelings for Ryan. So Tory drags her over to his house—where he’s washing car mats with his shirt off (of course). Sparks start to fly over the car... until a massive argument breaks out about who actually ended their marriage. Jo storms off and calls Karim. She says yes.
But just as she starts planning another wedding, she finds out... she’s still married to Ryan.
She confronts him and asks him to come to City Hall to finalize the annulment. But first, he takes her on a surprise detour—to their old high school. Cue the nostalgia. Cue the flying sparks.
Ultimately, Jo decides to break things off with Karim. But when she shows up to talk to Ryan—his baby mama is there.
Heartbroken, she decides to move forward with the annulment.
But then, Simon sees the papers and decides to play matchmaker. He traps both Jo and Ryan in detention, forcing them to talk things out and—yes—make out.
They celebrate at the school carnival, where Jo gets dunk tanked, and then they kiss in front of all the kids.
[00:00:03] Hi, I'm Bran and I love UpTV Faith and Family Movies! I'm Jax and I like UpTV Faith and Family Movies. And I'm Dan and I despise UpTV Faith and Family Movies and this is the Deck The Hallmark Podcast! Deck The Hallmark, it's this podcast. Friends host this podcast.
[00:00:33] We hope you like this jolly podcast. Well, well, well. Hi everybody! Welcome back another episode. Jax is here. So happy to have you again. Hi Jax. I'm so happy to be here for this. Now knowing that I haven't been fired from Chicken Sisters, I'm even happier to be covering this content. Yeah, but also this is historic as you alluded to Jax.
[00:01:03] This is the first episode recorded in our new studio live for the Double Decker. That's true. So if you, BrambleJamPlus.com, if you go and become a Double Decker, you get all these episodes live and early before they come out as long as they're not screeners. And this is the first one we're doing for the Double Deckers. First one. Jax is here to join us. That's right. So what a time. Yes, I asked it. I think that's a bit crass. I said, am I popping your cherry in the studio? And you would never. You know, Bran put it... Be crass. I would never.
[00:01:33] Bran just looked embarrassed, but also I think he didn't really know what it meant, but he knew it sounds like cherry. Well, I don't like cherries. And so I don't really understand what we're talking about here. Oh my gosh. But I will say, in case you missed it, you know, I think yesterday... What day has this come out? Is this Wednesday? Today's Wednesday? Today's Wednesday. In case you missed it yesterday, come check us out. Filo.tv.dth. You can watch the show, see us in our new space, and you get to see Jax. Yeah.
[00:02:02] And so it's a big win for everybody, I think. Jax, tell people, tell people kind of like, what are you up to? Like, what are you getting into these days? Well, if you are watching on Filo, I just got back from the gym, and I don't work out hard, but I sweat profusely, and I'm very, very red, and my hair is very, very sweaty, and it's reminding me of when I played basketball when I was like 11. I wasn't on the starting team, even though my parents coached.
[00:02:32] I know I mentioned that before, because there was trauma with that. But I'm doing great. I'm feeling healthy. I just really sweat. I was on the stationary bike for 20 minutes, and boy howdy, does it really do something for you. Now, you mentioned that you... There's so much there. So you don't go to the gym. I don't even know where to get started. You don't go to the gym very often. No, actually, I go to the gym all the time. Oh, okay. But I never, like, no, that's the thing.
[00:02:57] I go to the gym a lot, but it's always just frequently minimum effort. Yeah. That's the jam. But today, today, max effort? Oh. No, today it was just, I just sweat a lot. Yeah, you just sweat. This all could have been fixed if Jack's parents would have started her. That's exactly right. In an 11-year-old basketball. I could have been playing for the WNBA. I wouldn't be on this podcast with you, and I'm glad to be here. Well, I think you still would have made time. Yeah. I probably would have.
[00:03:26] We'd have never gotten the bubbly session. It's unbelievable. Now, let me ask you this. And I'm sure we've talked about it before, but do you think it was, you know, a bench situation due to skill, or was it like your parents really pushing back against nepotism? Like, we don't want to be able to get... Yeah, we want to make a point here. We don't want to get people to bat out. Like, was it that you weren't good, or that your parents, you know, were just kind of being a little, you know, a little strict?
[00:03:53] So my sister, who as you know is a year younger than me, was a fabulous point guard, and she started. And what my parents told me was that, you know, basketball's really Cassie's thing. Acting is your thing. Good for them. Good for them. And, you know, we can't... You're good enough to start. But again, with the nepotism, like you're saying, they need to use that word, but we can't start both of you. We can't start both. You both call your girls. Yeah, we can't do that. You guys, I didn't buy it at the time, but I could...
[00:04:20] I was pretty self-aware and intuitive, I think, even as a kid. And it made me feel good, though, that my parents loved me enough to lie to me about that. Did they... Did Cass go on and play like high school ball? Oh, yeah. She was a really good high school player. She actually probably could have played in college, but she was also very smart. That's what I heard. I heard about that in the scouting. So she was busy. Masters of Harvard? University? Yeah. Harvard University. I didn't know she went to Harvard. Oh my gosh. Because she gets embarrassed and doesn't like to mention it. She'll just say, if someone asks where she wants to school, she's like, Boston.
[00:04:51] Oh, man. Yeah, because Boston U sucks. Boo. I... That's crazy. This is like when I found out when Erin Craiko, we were interviewing her and she just said Juilliard and then I just didn't let her forget it for a full hour. It was great. Now, does she go out to Rucker Park now and still get up and down the course? Balling out? I would love to see her ball out with you guys. She'll still like shoot hoops. She's like teaching my niece to play. My brother was a really good player, so they'll play sometimes.
[00:05:19] Like it's still a part of her life. Oh, so there was a... Put baby in carrier, run up and down the court. Like I think there's, you know... So just generational, the basketball talent that call your family aside from Jacqueline. It's a basketball dynasty. Basketball dynasty. I've never scored a thousand points. Oh! That's a big deal. In the thing. Yeah. Yeah. What's it called? In the trophy... There's a case. Yeah. There's a case. So yeah, there's... It's a real illustrious legacy. And one year I scored seven points and that was... Shout out.
[00:05:47] Do you think it's messed up, Jax, that, you know, athletes, you know, get medals and trophies that, you know, stand the test of time and actors get like flowers? Like, hey, good job. Here's something that's gonna die in a couple days. Yeah, let's diagnose that if we could. Well, in the Coral room, in the high school, my Annie dress is in a glass case. Whoa! Okay! Once upon a mattress dress, then my Damn Yankees lingerie, and then my little take back your mink outfit for guys and dolls. Hold on.
[00:06:17] Your Damn Yankees lingerie is in your high school? Yeah. Well, it's like a little lingerie outfit that Lola wears for whatever Lola wants. Okay, I understand what it is, but it's still a high school, yeah? Okay, the real, the truth is, none of that is actually memorialized, but I did wear all those things and it was my mom's lingerie. And one of my teachers was like, I love your mom's lingerie. Hold on. Like, I hate everything.
[00:06:45] I am so many, we are never gonna get to this movie. So you had to go out on stage in high school in your mom's lingerie. I sure did. She was like, they didn't have a lot of money for costumes that year and she got a little glint in her eye and said, I have something. Here's your one chance fancy, don't let me down. That's why I sing it every year, Carrie. This one's for mom. This one's for mom. Holly knows. Oh, gosh. Oh, man.
[00:07:14] I love your mom. She's the best. She loves you. She loves you so much. Hi, mom. She's probably listening. Hey, mom. Speaking of moms, let's do Love Club moms. Thank you. Love Club mom, Cole and Joe, originally premiered on Up Faith and Family on Valentine's Day, actually, February 14th, 2025. And it went a little something like this. Vice Principal Joe is, you know, bustling around backstage at the school theater. She trips. Her glasses fall off.
[00:07:44] She looks up and she sees a total hunk, but she's not positive who that hunk is. What can you do? She steps out from backstage to see if she can find that person. But we see end up seeing the same chaotic scene from the first film. But again, where, you know, the moms bump into each other. You smile. Love Club group photo. You know the thing. Fast forward six months. Joe is now dating the choir director, Kareem.
[00:08:13] And she's also been promoted. Abdul Jabbar? That's exactly right. And also dropped that vice. She's just straight up principal now. But something is off. She doesn't quite seem happy. So she reaches out to the Love Club. Joe confesses that Kareem might be ready to take the relationship to the next level, but she's not sure she feels the same way. She's not sure if she wants to take things to the next level.
[00:08:39] The next day, she sees that same hunk from six months ago and realizes, oh, I know that hunk. It's Ryan and his son Simon is a student at the school. It turns out Simon's been having a little bit of trouble because Simon's mom's MIA. Take her to the house. That's exactly right. Joe and Ryan get into an argument and he storms out.
[00:09:02] And that's when we find out not only does she know him, it is her ex-husband. What? Shumelot. Shumelot. She tells the Love Club that she spontaneously married Ryan at 18. It was a very big mistake. And that's why she's so like, pay by numbers now. Yeah. Because of, you know, if you do things spontaneously and you're going to do the opposite. That's exactly right.
[00:09:31] Then Kareem proposes via Yahtzee and Joe tells him, let me think about it. Which you love to hear. Yahtzee. Yahtzee. The Love Club suspects that Joe still has feelings for Ryan. So Tori drags her over to his house where he's washing car mats with his shirt off. Cause... Oh, of course. Your Corey said it. There is a God. Um, sparks fly, um, you know, because of that.
[00:10:01] And then a massive argument breaks out about who actually ended their marriage. Joe storms off and calls Kareem and says, I will be marrying you. Thank you very much, sir. Um, but just as she starts planning the wedding, she finds out she's still married to Ryan. Real Sweet Home Alabama situation. That makes, you know, getting married to someone else a bit of a hurdle.
[00:10:31] Uh, she confronts him and asks him to come to the city, uh, city hall to finalize the annulment. But first, he takes her on a little surprise detour back to their old stomping grounds. The old high school. Uh, cue the nostalgia. Cue the flying sparks. Cue the soccer ball hitting the lights. It's big fun. Ultimately though, Joe decides, uh, she's going to break things off with Kareem.
[00:10:58] But when she shows up to talk to Ryan, who opens the door, but his baby mama, we know her name. Her name is? Flaren. Flaren. Flaren opens the door. Flaren's back. So Flaren's back. There's no room for me here. So she goes home. She drinks some orange soda with the love club and she, uh, you know, she, she talks through it. Heartbroken, she decides to move forward with the annulment, but then Simon sees the papers,
[00:11:25] uh, the annulment papers and, uh, decides he's going to play matchmaker a little bit. He traps both Joe and Ryan in detention, forcing them to talk things out. And yes, make out. Uh, they celebrate at the school carnival where Joe gets, uh, dunk tanked and then they kiss in front of all of the kids. And that my friends was love club moms. It was Cole and Joe. We did it.
[00:11:54] We did do it. Hey, let's take a quick break. We'll come back and we'll, uh, we'll bring this movie down. Here on deck the hallmark. Brent, we're back, uh, in the chat, double decker chats, first live one here, blah, blah, blah. You get it. Uh, I've, uh, Beth Ammer-Gross Smith says I've never understood a synopsis last. So, is it because you didn't see the movie? I don't know.
[00:12:21] I mean, I felt like it is kind of twisty turny, but you know, he's done worse synopsis. I'm very clear. Thank you. Yeah. Um, so like, did you give your mom's laundry back to her? I listen, we just don't have time. I mean, there's so much to unpack. I'll, I'll, I was going to say I'll send pictures, but it feels weird to say that. Let's not. Hey, picture didn't happen! I was also, what, what, 17? So that feels weird. It's all weird.
[00:12:50] This whole thing is weird. Yeah, the whole thing's weird. From the point, from the moment Brandon know what Poppin' Cherries was on, it's been, it's been a weird one. But I mean, we watched Saved by the Bell, whereas freshmen, I believe in high school, Zach Morris does auction off Lisa Turtle's lingerie. And I thought that was crazy. It would never happen. Oh my gosh, right. And then all of a sudden, I hear Jack's, hers is hanging up in the school. That's exactly right. And it's her mom's. It's crazy.
[00:13:21] What a life. What a life. Let's talk Love Club Moms, Joe edition here. We're going to start with a hot take, so we'll share exactly how we felt about this movie. We're not going to hold back and I'll start with you, Jax. Jax, what do you think about Joe? So you know, I was enchanted by Tori's story, the Manny situation of it all. And I'm not going to lie, I was nervous about Joe because I was suspicious about a really, really, really hot blonde girl who's wearing glasses. Like what's that going to be? You know what?
[00:13:49] I ended up having fun with this. Not nearly as much fun as I had with Tori. I was really surprised to see as it started that it's actually taking place in the same timeline as the other ones that we had a few of those same scenes. And then my brain kind of just went into thinking that this was either made it much easier logistically or logistical nightmare. And I, my brain just kind of went there for a little while.
[00:14:15] Um, I am really in love with this. Um, his real name is Khalid Kareem and he plays Kareem. I actually thought his performance was so fantastic, especially that last scene, um, in the classroom. He's doing beautiful, subtle work that is, if we're being real far better than the movie that he did. And I, I really, I don't know.
[00:14:42] I was actually really touched by that, that he took it so seriously. Shout out. Shout out Kareem. It was, it was really, it was really beautiful work. Uh, and I thought the rest of this was fun. It's fun. It's fine. Like Corey Sevier won't turn down a movie. And I love that because look, neither would I, I'll take any opportunity. So there's no judgment there, but you know, here he is again, looks great without a shirt on. Um, and these besties were having a good time with them. They're fun.
[00:15:12] I love a kid who's a bit of a matchmaker detective. So that was fun. This little boy was cute. I had a good time. Not as much of a good time as I had in, um, Tori story, but it also made me more intrigued to see the other two women's stories and just see how this is all going to play out. So I'm enjoying this, uh, Canon, a film. Yes, sure. Let's call it Canon. Um, once again, I find myself agreeing with that. My friend Jack's, uh, I did enjoy this one.
[00:15:39] I did enjoy it less than last week's, but still a good time. And I thought that these two, uh, had pretty, pretty great chemistry, chemistry, pretty great chemistry together. Um, as they should, because they were married. Um, you know, so, uh, yeah. That's true. Like, you know, the arguments there, you know, feisty is, you know, there's a little bit of edge in this movie, which we'll talk about like some things that I'm just like, what's going on? Is this faith and family? Or I, I, I didn't have anything to, what is it?
[00:16:09] And, uh, so there's some of that, but I tell you what, like this, you know, it is, it, this movie is what it is. I still find myself enjoying this series more than the hearts around the table series. I just think that it's a little bit more fun and it's just working a bit better for me. And so, uh, do with that what you will, but yeah, good time, Dan. Yeah. I think it, we have to sliding scale this thing.
[00:16:34] Like you can't just say like, when I say this is more enjoyable than the hearts around the table movies, that sounds like high praise and it just isn't high praise. Like the fact is they're trying to make really fun movies here. The first one is this weird, this guy shouldn't be a nanny, but we're making him a nanny bit, which brand adored for some reason. And this one is a very much a sweet home, Alabama takeoff, but you got, you got some stuff that like you said, brand up faith and family adjacent.
[00:17:03] They bleep out a cuss word in this movie. There's a long shirtless Corey Sevier scene and we're better for it. There's this basically, and this is a little bit of a wait, what, but Ashley new bro just ogles Corey Sevier from up the driveway for the, for 15 straight minutes. It's sorry. I thought you were actually going to say when she said something with ballsy. I was like, yeah, she did that too. Ballsy.
[00:17:29] Like it is, it is a very weird series that we're watching, but they're both Ashley new bro series. This one's better. This one's a better series. It's still not good, but at least the time passes so much quicker than the hearts around the table movie. So if you want a silver lining, I mean, that's it. This is, if you want shenanigans and hijinks, this is your movie. If you want more heartfelt than the hearts around the table movies, your movie, but they're, they feel like they were all made in the same city. Right?
[00:17:59] Like this is all the one big thing that we're doing. Yeah. Yeah. Let's get all the fields. We're talking about what in the city gave us feels Jack's. Um, there were two moments where, um, Ashley new burrow really like tickled me. Um, when she said talk loud so I can hear you look really pretty. I just thought that was a really cute line that she had to her friend. And also like how I talked to my friends. Um, we're always telling each other how pretty we are.
[00:18:24] And, um, then also when, um, Joe finds out she's married, Ashley new bro's face. It's so over the top, but it's also like a very valid reaction to finding this out. I thought that was really cute. Um, this was an all the fields, but also a wait, what? So I'll say it in, in, in this part when the son is like, yeah, you know, the principal, she's kind of like a mom.
[00:18:53] I was like, Oh, Oh, my baby doll. I mean, this kid was so adorable when he like turned around in that chair and like was trying to get them together. Was it a little cheesy? And when this never happened, sure. But like, he's, he's really, really adorable. Um, and then finally, yeah, I really liked the guy who played cream in that last scene. I just thought he brought so much heart and vulnerability to it.
[00:19:21] And I just want to see him in more things. It was so good. Um, listen, when he takes his shirt off, it is what it is. When, when, when, when he has, when he has that hose in hand, I'm like, is he going to do this? Is he going to, Dan, you and I both said, is he going to, they literally, I don't know how else to describe this. Because the, the, the music is borderline inappropriate on its own.
[00:19:45] And then the camera starts at belt buckle and slow-mo's up as he's removing his shirt. And it, what in the up faith and family's going on? But it, yeah, it was a better, like Hallmark is starting to dabble in the shirtless scenes. This seemed like it was a very confidently a part of the script shirtless scene. Like, everything down to the filmmaking of it was, we're going to highlight this from music to camera angle to everything.
[00:20:15] It was wild. Um, but, uh, another scene that I really liked, uh, was when they went to the school, uh, and they sneak in and they have to hide from whatever. The guy. Yes. Who's there. You know, they're in tight quarters, they're nose to nose. And you get that moment of just like, uh oh, what's going on here? Um, really great moment and, uh, good acting on, on, on both, on both parts. Dan? Yeah. I just wrote down justice for Kareem.
[00:20:41] This movie at the end of the day, maybe the reason Bethann didn't understand the synopsis is because this movie at the end of the day is about a group of four women who are trying to get, uh, no, three women who are trying to get one woman to break off her marriage or her engagement with an amazing dude. Now he may not be right for her and that's a more than fair, but they spend most of this movie plotting against this poor guy who does nothing wrong. He doesn't do anything wrong.
[00:21:08] He's a good dude might not be the best match for Joe, but they are plotting to break these two up. Like he is so bad for her and he's a good guy. And it's weird that that happens in this movie. It seemed like they missed a component somewhere. Like I would be pulling for them and the hijinks. If like, if Kareem was a terrible guy, it's like, yeah, let's get it. Let's get her over to, to Sevier's house. You know how he washes his car every Sunday where to hurt off.
[00:21:37] Like, but this is, it feels wrong what they're doing. Like, it doesn't feel right. It felt very wrong to me because this guy just didn't deserve it. If he, if he were to watch this movie, like a documentary, he'd be like, wait a minute. I think we're going great. And then these women came in and they made it like they just ruined my life for no reason. So that was tough, but it is what it is. It is what it is. Yeah. Um, let's do this. Okay. A quick break. I love that. We'll take a quick break. We'll come back. We'll get to the way.
[00:22:06] What the what the hallmark here on deck. The hallmark. Hello everybody. Welcome back. The hallmark. We're talking about the love club moms colon Joe's Joe's school crush listed in IMD. Yeah. Joe's school crush. Yeah. Um, which is another Shyamalan cause you think it's the teacher. I know. And then it turns out. Yeah. School.
[00:22:36] The kid comes in and school. They see, there you go. Let's get to high school. Let's get to the way. What? That's where we talk about what this movie made us go. Wait, what else are you? Jax? One, but I'm actually going to delve into my first one because it's building on what, what, what. It's a good place to start. It's a good place to start. I love, I love building on what. I'm going to start with my first one. If that's okay with you guys. We'll allow it. We'll allow it. Justice once. I've got two. You mind if I start with one. You guys mind if I start with one.
[00:23:06] Great. All right. I'm going to start with one. Thanks for that permission. You're wild. You're a wild and crazy kid. I am going to start with my first one. Um, I'm just like Joe in high school. Um, when. Yeah. These women trying to break them up. I think also it's, it's very problematic because when Kareem is talking about his past and he has that like sexy look on his face and he's like, Oh, he's naming all the women he's been with. And he's like, Oh, I forget which one was which hard to tell with twins.
[00:23:33] I was like, you had a wild side. Like I bet that you and Joe were actually even more compatible than you think because you were wild. You like grew up a little bit and now you actually would be good together if you could bring out both sides of that. So yes, I think it was such a weight wet that all the women were immediately like, no, get Kareem out of here.
[00:23:55] Um, and then the other thing was I, I laughed so hard the line and maybe I misheard this. So you guys can tell me you are a tough little nut and we are your squirrels. That was a line. And then it was referenced again, like, Oh, my little squirrels. So they say to Joe, you are a tough little nut and we are your squirrels.
[00:24:23] That is really, that's like Jack's wearing her mom's laundry. I don't really know what to do with that. I don't really know what that means. It made me laugh and I actually was like, this is kind of cute. It was just this thing of like, I was like, I don't know what that means, but cool. Like, yeah, like, let me just let it wash over me. Yeah. Yeah. Listen, sometimes things don't need to make sense, you know, but, but, but, but, but twixt trends. Um, I got a couple. Um, I'll start with one.
[00:24:51] I'll start with my first one, which is the fact that I don't like, what was this for? This movie who, what network, what network were they going for here? Because they have to believe like he, he's like, uh, arguing with her and he says, uh, like they have to bleep out a hard a. Yeah. A S S. They, they have to, they, they, they, and he yells it. Yeah. They just, they just, they go so hard.
[00:25:21] And then to like, they don't do a bleep. They just like cut the audio out. They just cut the audio out. It makes it more noticeable. I feel like they could have probably figured out a way to just trim that and not happen. But like, what was the original intent? Who was it? Like, it's not like that would have flown on Hallmark either. Like now, and this might be a little by what the Homer, but it's like, is this what Sevier, does Sevier normally go off book? Sometimes we just gotta let Corey cook. You know what I mean? Like he's out there.
[00:25:46] He's so into character that he happens to cuss in a, a TV movie of the week for Hallmark. Yeah. Cause he just was that locked in. I love to think that that's the version of Corey Sevier that shows up for literally the 12 movies he does every year. Cause that's funny. He's that locked in on this character that he went there. Like Corey cook. Yeah. Let Corey cook. Um, so they're, uh, trying to like find, find out what they were like, the, the, the
[00:26:14] friends are what they were like as a married couple, like 18 year olds. And so they like sneak up and they find her photo album in a closet. That's like in between like sheets and stuff like that. You have like, like linens. It's just in, it's just in there. And they just opened up the closet door. And they said, we know exactly where it is. We know where she hides stuff. And it was like really interesting. And then they just don't explain it. And then they just put it back in there. And I thought that that was funny.
[00:26:43] Um, do what? At one point they're out, they're all at the school dance and you know, Kareem is there and, uh, he sees her with Kareem. He gets a little jealous. So he goes and, and, uh, asks, you know, one of the other friends, will you dance? And they start dancing, you know, uh, two adults do at a school dance. Do like adults ask other adults to dance at school dances.
[00:27:10] Do chaperones typically dance with other chaperones at school dances? I think, you know, I've chaperoned a number of dances and there were some teachers that would bring their significant others and they would dance once or twice, but just asking, can you imagine all the kids talking if one faculty member went and asked another faculty member to dance? I can't, I'd like, I cannot even fathom. Oh, it would be nonstop.
[00:27:35] We would, I would literally, if I literally, if I was at one of these dances and dance with a female teacher one time, just because we were bored, it would literally be, I would hear about it the rest of the school year. Right. I can't imagine them just casually doing that and just being like, whatever, who cares? Yeah. It's crazy. I, uh, it struck me, you know, towards the end of this movie that she's like, not a mom. Love club moms.
[00:28:04] She's like, not a mom. That's it. Just like, just cause you're still married to him and he has a kid. You didn't know. It takes actual work. I don't like, you don't stumble into like step parent. Yeah. Like now, technically, but technically speaking. Yes. But it's never met this kid in her life. Yes. And so I think moving forward, you know, you can have that conversation like, Hey, I'd like to be your step mom. Yeah.
[00:28:32] But for most, most of her life, she's not been mom. And I thought it was a bit of a misnomer. It's a bit. Yes. She's not a mom. Yeah. She's not a mom. Um, and then last but not least, you cannot kiss like that in front of the students. When, when, when, uh, she comes out of the dunk tank and he's like, Hey you. And then they just go like, they just start making out and the kids were just cheering. They're like, don't care. Don't care.
[00:29:01] And then not a single kid went, ah, none of that happened. They're just, they all, I guess all the kids are like cheering them on. Like let's go. Uh, you can't kiss like that in front of the students. It's just a, you're a principal. Yeah. You're a principal. Dan. Uh, yeah. She's not only a principal, she's a principal and her office is a maintenance shed with concrete walls and no insulation. Uh, this is the least believable principals office I've ever seen ever, ever, ever. It's not one.
[00:29:29] They literally went into some room that's just made out of concrete walls and they put a desk in there and a name tag kind of embarrassing. Uh, they do go to the soccer field at some point in this movie and there's kids out there playing soccer and the grass on the soccer field is, I don't know, shin deep. Uh, you, you couldn't possibly play soccer on that field. If you kicked a ball, the grass would literally hold it up. Um, it, it hasn't been mowed.
[00:29:56] It is not just cause you put a goal down. Does it make it a soccer field? That's kind of crazy. Uh, Kareem proposes in this movie. And he does so while they're playing Yahtzee. And I just want to try to paint the picture for you. If you familiar with the game, Yahtzee, whatever, there's a, there's a tube or whatever that you put the diet dice in and you, you shake them and you throw them. He shakes the dice, throws the dice and throws Yahtzee.
[00:30:26] Good for Yahtzee. Good for Yahtzee. He does it. Throws Yahtzee. Collects the dice, hands the throwing thing to Joe and go, and she goes, I don't even know how, why I'm rolling. I can't beat Yahtzee. And he says, why don't you give it a shot? Yeah. And she does. And out with the dice comes an engagement ring. How do you do it though? How do you do it? What you don't know is on the weekends, he does sleight of hand magic tricks.
[00:30:55] So this guy, his whole plan for proposing is, is I'm going to wait all game till I roll Yahtzee. And then when I roll Yahtzee somewhere up my sleeve or somewhere I'm going to have outside of a box, uh, just an engagement ring. And I'm going to take the container, somehow slip the engagement ring in with the dice, hand it to her. We're going to have a bit of dialogue. She's like, why don't we even roll? And he's like, go ahead and see what happens. And it's going to be awesome. How?
[00:31:25] How did you do it, dude? Like that's a lot of work for a C plus proposal. Like, it's just a very weird thing to do. And the amount of- I guess if he is a magician, he could know he can make himself roll Yahtzee. And then also that sleight of hand. He looks like he would be a magician. Now let me ask you this, Jax. Jax, you're, uh, you're in the game, uh, space, uh, bundle game. Shout out. Shout out. I'm wearing a maid of magic ring from the magic castle. So I, I really love that. Okay.
[00:31:53] So, um, this would work for you. If, you know, if somebody proposed to you with Yacht. But this one, if you were dating a magician, uh, for example, and he incorporated also
[00:32:19] your love of games and made the ring appear out of nowhere, incorporated into the game, that would, you, you would love that. Oh, my word. If it's taking place in an escape room. That's right. Can you imagine? Did you tell her about the email we got? No, I did not tell you about the email that we got. This is great. Yeah. We got a really kind email from somebody who loves it when we discuss escape rooms because,
[00:32:43] uh, his daughter, like designs escape rooms, I believe in Nashville or something like that. And he really wants us to fall in love with escape rooms. And so he's offered to, uh, pay for us to all do an escape room together when you're down here. Yes. Yes. A thousand times. Well, we turned him down. Uh, actually, I don't think we've responded yet. Uh, we'll get back to you. Um, also let me know which one's in Nashville.
[00:33:09] Um, yeah, she's, I've got the, Aaron pulled the email up on screen. Basically it says my daughter has become good friends with the owners of escape artist Greenville. Okay. And one of their rooms won the number two escape room in the country recently. And I would love to cover the cost, help schedule it with that as we get closer. So look at that. Shout out to David Townsend. Yes. A thousand times. Yeah. That's fantastic.
[00:33:36] Uh, and I don't want to, I don't want to, well, it would be good promotion. I don't know. They say the name of the company that she works for, but I don't want to like, I don't want to. Yeah. Out anybody. I said the name of the one in Greenville. Yeah. But I don't want to doc. Like what if they don't. That's right. You don't want to doc. Person who sent this email, let us know if we could doc your, your daughter. Oh my God. In regard to where she works and the work she does. We can, we air this entire episode.
[00:34:07] What is Aaron's going to edit it. It's going to be like the intro and Merry Christmas. It's ridiculous. Can we doc your daughter? Uh, that's a question. Uh, Dan, do you have anyone? Uh, I had two. I'll save one for what the homework, but the other one, they find these pictures of when they were married and we are told they were married at 18 years old and that we know they're graduating year. They're roughly 31 in this movie and the wedding pictures look like they took them yesterday. They, it's, it's, it's the same.
[00:34:36] They put a goatee on Corey Sevier. Same people. 100%, not 18 years old, not anywhere in the ballpark. It's crazy. It's crazy. I'll save the other one for, uh, what the homework. Okay. Uh, we'll do it now. Let's do what the homework now is where we wonder what could have been. Maybe happen to get some clarity. Any questions that we still have, uh, Jackson, what are you still wondering about after watching this?
[00:35:02] There was a moment where Corey Sevier went and danced with one of the moms that I don't know the two moms. I don't know their names yet. We'll get there. We'll get there. We will. After we know their movies. And I was like, is there a vibe there? And there might be a world where Joe stays with Kareem and where Corey Sevier gets with the beautiful woman whose husband is apparently recently said he wanted a divorce. And you know what?
[00:35:31] If your husband wants a divorce, maybe you need a severe weather warning and have a good time for a little while. Okay. Wow. Okay. Uh, mine's not as fun as that. Um, they are playing the Yahtzee, I believe. Um, and, or something's happening and they're talking, she's talking to Kareem and is talking about, you know, the heat of the game and whatnot. And she talks about how, well, the pizza that you brought packed a lot of heat already.
[00:36:01] And I couldn't stop wondering what that pizza was. That's true. That's true. That like really packed the heat. Like I know they're like, there's some spicy pizza out there, but I've never had one that's like burning my mouth, packing a lot of heat. A lot of heat. I don't know. So what was that pizza? It's a good one, Brian. Dan? Don't sell yourself short. That was great, dude. It was really good. Thanks brother. Um, there is a scene that the editing is incomprehensible in this movie and I have to know more information about it. I rewound it cause Brandon did not believe me.
[00:36:30] The love club towards the end of the movie are all gathered in someone's living room. I don't know, Joe, Tarragon, whatever. And they're all drinking sodas like what appear to be orange sodas. And then they go to a wide shot and then they go back to the closeup and the sodas are yellow. And then they go, and they go back to the wide shot and there's an orange soda on the floor that wasn't there. But it is like when my kids got highlights and you had to figure out the differences.
[00:36:58] I don't, I thought I fundamentally don't know how it happened. Like it's one thing if there's a scene and NASNN contractors holding an orange soda and then in the wide it's on the ground. I understand how that happened. Why is there any soda that's not orange even on set? I know what a script supervisor is. I understand the idea of continuity. I don't know how this happened. I don't know where yellow jumped into the, into the picture. Get the mellow yellow out of here. We're doing orange.
[00:37:28] It's so subtle. But if you go try to try to figure it out, it is incomprehensible how it is what it is. I couldn't figure it out. And I need more info. Someone from love club moms, uh, please, please let me know. It's so bonkers because yeah, it's not like it's someone just wasn't paying attention in terms of continuity. This was means actively a different product was being, I mean, we need to know. Yeah. Yeah. It's so wild. It's crazy.
[00:37:58] Yeah, it's crazy. But also everyone else has orange. So she had orange and so did everybody else. And then suddenly for some reason, she does it. It is. It is a crazy, crazy scene. I just don't know. Like why get the mellow yellow out. That's all we're trying to say. Uh, well, we did everybody. Congratulations to us. And we're going to be back next week with the third love club. Mom's movie. Um, angelic. I don't know. I don't know. I could look it up, but I don't know. I don't know who she is.
[00:38:26] Uh, it is Harper Harper. Of course. Harper. Come on back for Harper next week. It's going to be a lot of fun. Um, until then, maybe the first to wish you a Merry Christmas.
